I have never had a massage the way Peter gave a massage. I work in the fitness industry and was very impressed with the small intrinsic muscles that Peter was targeting. Peter had the perfect amount of pressure while targeting muscles I wasn’t aware needed some TLC. Great body awareness! My new favorite go to person for massages.

Ive been a member of this Massage Envy location for the past four years and its massage therapists have never let me down. In particular, Joey and Yvonne are phenomenal. Both are friendly, professional, and are incredibly knowledgable muscle-whisperers who are capable of working out the most stubborn knots, alleviating muscle spasms, and improving mobility.I love that all the massage therapists here get to the bottom of any muscular pain/discomfort you might be feeling, rather than just going through the motions.The facilities are also always clean and quiet. Its very pleasant!

From the moment me and my sister arrived, we were greeted promptly and with smiling faces. We filled out our forms and seated in a nice area waiting for our appointment time to arrive. we did the 60 minute massage. Tiffany was amazing. She make sure the pressure was comfortable, and that she was targeting all my areas that I requested. We will definitely be back for another sister date.

The staff at the 23rd St Gramercy Park location are great. Always professional, polite and wanting you to have the best experience every time youre there. My Massage Therapist is Yvonne. She great at what she does, especially if you need deep tissue massages. The facility is ALWAYS clean and never overly crowded. You feel as though you have the whole place to yourself.

Demetria was very nice and welcoming. The ladies at the front desk are nice and knowledgeable too.Demetria was open to hearing what I was looking to get out of the service. I enjoyed the massage. My body felt relaxed and my mind felt invigorated afterwards.

Laurie was absolutely amazing. I had so much pain in my neck and shoulders and she was able to work out all of the knots. The front desk staff were amazing as well very friendly and welcoming environment.

I have been working with Denisha for almost a year- I do Assisted Stretches with her and she is EXCELLENT!.. She is very knowledgeable and I feel completely safe with her treatments… and she has been very helpful as I build and maintain my strength again after having had back surgery in 2022.

My massage with Stephen was excellent. This was my first time with him and he immediately understood my back issues and handled them like a pro. The Gramercy location was well kept and the rest of the staff were very nice. My one complaint is the additional $40 charge that was added to my banked California member credit. I dont object to paying more (it is Manhattan, after all) but if a member massage is $80 in the Bay Area and $100 in NYC, then shouldnt the upcharge just be $20? Just saying.

This is a basic massage facility and not a hotel spa but thats what makes is affordable and relaxed.The front desk and therapists are all very polite and friendly.Quay was my massage therapist and he was great. Very attentive and with a skilled touch.Asked if I was comfortable with pressure applied and voice guided next moves.Its a good experience for a good price at Massage Envy.I felt great afterwards. Will seek another massage from Mr. Quay.

Yvonne is the best!! Nothing beats her deep tissue massage. She truly has genius in her craft and is a healer at heart.

My husband and I went for our anniversary massage. It was one of the greatest experiences in our lives. My therapist, Laurie was very attentive and got to the nitty-gritty of my lower back pain from consistently sitting. And my husband had Tamara as his therapist, only concern with his experience is that she was out if time and couldnt massage his feet. Next time you visit Massage Envy, please see Laurie, or Johnia.

Very clean, quiet, environment. Very soothing ambience. Front Desk staff was polite, and respectful. My masseuse, Michelle, listened to my concerns about my back pain and was great. I love that you guys are in the neighborhood.

Yvonne continues to provide the best treatments for my aging body. She is among the top 3 massage therapist Ive had in over 30 years of receiving massages.

My massage was great! The staff was every personable. I was in the city running errands. I called and they schedule me in immediately under 2 hours which was perfect. Michelle listened to me. Had me snoring lol lol. Latchmi was a pleasure to speak with. I even altered my schedule to come into the city next week for another session.

Reception was professional and pleasant, despite me being a bit late for my appointment. Stephen was engaging and did a great job with my deep tissue massage, giving me the full time of my original appointment.

The massage was great and very relaxing. He increased the pressure when I asked. The only issue I had was he was 30 min late but he profusely apologized and gave me my full time.

Great location - front desk is friendly and accommodating, and they have skilled message therapists. This week I got a deep tissue massage by Tammy (Tamara) and it was excellent! It was well worth the cost. My sister got a deep tissue massage by Laurie and loved her massage as well. I’ve been to this location just a few times, but each time my experience makes me glad I haven’t yet cancelled my membership.

Tyler is awesome and ensures that you are comfortable during your massages. He asks questions to ensure that communication is clear. Always satisfied with him.

Misato was amazing. Knowledgeable, professional, exquisite hands during the facial treatment, and congenial. This is the type of experience that makes clients return and pass the word to others to see her!!

Michelle was awesome!! Followed my requests exactly and was so nice. And the massage was one of the best I’ve had.

Gina was fantastic. She paid extra attention to the areas that I asked, used good pressure, and had such a sweet and gentle presence about her. 10/10 recommend.

****DO NOT GO HERE****Had a facial, left my 6 thousand dollar necklace(I got when my father died with the money he left me) in the room called as soon as I realized, NECKLACE WAS NOT RETURNED, I didn’t even get a return call from regional, they done nothing to help. Very untrustworthy and unprofessional. Will never return.

It is unfortunate that I have to submit this negative review. I went here with much enthusiasm and expectation. But left completely shocked by Tammys service. At some point of my full body massage (which is not cheap by any means) she told me she did not have time to massage my legs-no way she said. And could just about manage my head and shoulders (which she rushed through) with the time left. I was shocked. I have had massages at many places in the city and around the world. I have never come across a therapist who was not able to manage her 60 minutes. When I went to Envy, I expected a professional service by professionals. Clearly, this lady was not. It was my first time there; I was seriously considering taking a membership given the location. But, of course, this sullied any such move. Thankfully, the lady at the reception tried her best to make amends ad delivered the service expected of her. She was very apologetic when I told her my experience and offered to pair me up with someone much better next time. At the moment, Im not sure if I want that next time.

Started coming after my local Massage Envy shut down. Thrilled to have found Mary, as she really is one of the best aestheticians I’ve ever worked with. She knows exactly what my skin needs and I always leave glowing!! Had a massage with Demetra and wow!!! She was fantastic!! Can’t wait for my next massage. She made sure the pressure was right and made sure I was comfortable every step of the way. Excellent service!! Front desk is also very kind and helpful!

Tammy was professional. She did a deep tissue massage which is what I was hoping for. All good!Unfortunately the room was cold which put a damper on my experience. I left there FROZEN

Massage Envy has been my go to massage spot for years. I go to LAURIE for my hour full body sessions and she gets me right every time. I always come in tired and stiff but leave refreshed and limber after my sessions with Laurie. For facials my go to is MARY. She is the BEST and has my skin GLOWING! She also holds me accountable in the kindest way with tips to make sure I’m taking care of my skin in between sessions for maximum glow! Massage Envy is a great place to get a massage and facial and Laurie and Mary in particular are sublime at their work!

I always Love my visit with Mary. Shes so excellent. Never disappoints she gives the best facials. My skin always looks great when shes done. I cant praise her enough. Thanks Mary.

My experience with massage envy was extremely positive. Jasmine, who worked behind the counter made me feel comfortable and welcomed. This was my first time getting a facial so I didnt know what to expect. But Misato was terrific! She was very thorough with the facial as well as the neck and hand massage, talking me through it and explaining what it was she was doing. Also explaining the benefits of it as well. Overall they get a 5/5. Great service along with a great atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. Especially those like me who are new to this.

A great place! The staff was all very kind and welcoming. My appointment was with Lucas and he was amazing! I went in with a knee injury, that I wasn’t expecting it to feel any different post-massage, but Lucas was so knowledgeable and healed my knee by identifying inflammation in my quad and giving showing me a few stretches/explaining how my knee was being affected. I was so grateful. Give this guy a raise!

The therapist was very cold and unfriendly, but very good at her job, so I guess that makes up for it. I was also charged for an upgrade to my massage which was not done aside from the use of what I discovered was hand sanitizer when the lights were turned on. Disappointing. I wont return.

This location is so well ran. The staff is fun, courteous and knowledgeable. I got a massage and facial. The massage tech went out of her way to make me feel comfortable. My facialist Mary was so thorough and funny. My skin was glowing after! I got so many compliments. Instead of trying to load me up on products she made honest recommendations on two things I would need. The owner was around that day and you could tell he cares about the staff and customers. Also I was gifted some credits from another member and they were very helpful on the phone in setting up my account / transfer and setting up an appointment we were gifting to a relative. Will be back.

The new experience I had was great. This was my first time with Lucas and my first time having a massage at this location. My massage focused mainly on my back with medium pressure and Lucas knew instinctively where I pressure needed to be focused. The atmosphere was calming and professional. He also let me know that I would be sore following the massage as I had not received one in a year and a half. I will be rebooking with him for my massages going forward.

I love this location! It was godsend during the pandemic. It’s meticulously maintained, with strict protocols. It’s always so, so clean. I’ve been a member there for over a year now; every staff member/masseuse/masseur has been attentive and so courteous. Special recognition to Allison, Rachael, & Charlie at the front desk for simply being wonderful people. And to Demetra, an extraordinarily generous woman and therapist, who did not hesitate to recommend me another massage therapist who she thought would better serve my needs. I’d like to recognize Arlene for the amazing service she has provided. I can’t say enough wonderful words about her as a person — and as a healer.

Had a full body massage with Elisa and she was amazing! Everyone was friendly and attentive. The moment you walked in the door, you felt welcome and their sincerity. This was a gift from my daughter, but I will be making it a regular visit going forward.I highly recommend this place. It is very clean, smells good and peaceful…the perfect atmosphere to lose oneself.

Demetra was excellent. While I don’t completely agree with the location fee for members, I would gladly pay again for Demetra. I brought two family members with me and 1 of them had an amazing experience.

It is unfortunate that I am forced to leave this review as I have been a member since September 2021 and have had nothing but a great experience with massage therapist Tiffany. However, I recently relocated and have been trying to cancel my membership for a month and have not been able to. If you come to this location and join as a member be aware that the only way to cancel a membership is IF the manager calls you back and agrees to cancel it. I have contacted the location in person once and twice via phone call and have yet to receive a call back. In the meantime, I am still being charged my membership fee.

I love going to Massage Envy the receptionist are always friendly and polite, the place is always clean. Joey is the best masseur ever. Hes friendly he makes you feel comfortable and his massage techniques are amazing. I will definitely recommend Joey for your massage journey.

Heartless refund policy. I reserved a massage for my wife on the same day, not realizing the weather was going to turn very nasty later. I called about 10 minutes later after she told me and was told the 24 hour cancellation policy applied to same day reservations and I would need to speak to a manager. I even walked over in-person less than an hour after Id made the reservation and was told no manager was present.I received a follow-up email stating they could not refund or even offer credit towards a reschedule. Very disappointing but unsurprising for a corporation.There are much better, cheaper local massage businesses who treat you like a person. Ill be going there instead.

I am a big fan of Massage Envy. I’ve been a member for over 6 years. This location is consistent with the others—impeccably clean, quiet, friendly, well decorated. Tiffany gave me a wonderful massage. She paid attention to my specific requests, and I feel like my back got a reset.I also like that it’s easy to book appointments online or over the phone. And they are always, always on time!

They dont even deserve 1 star. Their customer service is horrific. They cancel appointments on me without telling me and tell me the appointments I booked that show as booked in my account are not valid anymore. All they says is well the schedule for that massage therapist changed. No apology and no answers why the appointments changed.Update- They just called me, and the manager said my experience never actually happened, she was in the room and there is no way the person spoke to me like I said. Considering it was a phone call and the manager was never on the call, how would she know how the person spoke to me. I recorded the call, and asked the manager where I could email her a copy of the recording and she said no I dont need it, I know this never happened. What a joke, she doesnt want the recording because she knows I was spoken to in the worst way possible. No apology from the manager.

My original massage had to be cancelled because the therapist called out sick. Staff kept me in mind for any cancellations and gave me a longer massage at a discounted rate. My massage therapist, Tamara, was sweet and did a great job listening to how much pressure I wanted. Love going to the Gramercy location! I’ve never been disappointed!

The owner offered me help in getting my account set back up, the manager at the front desk was able to help me with scheduling an appointment and checking cameras when I thought I lost an item, and the two massage therapists I worked with so far, Miriama and Arlene, did an excellent job on the body work. Misato is my go to facial esthetician. After many years of trying to find someone who understood what my skin needed, I found Misato and she has been fantastic! She works efficiently, is gentle and thorough. My skin always feels so clean and refreshed after a session with her. On top of that, she has a kind and positive demeanor.

I had an absolutely fantastic experience. This was my first professional massage and my entire visit was very relaxing. The staff is very calming and the ambience is perfectly serene. Im very self-conscious and I never felt judged at all.Tomoko made me feel comfortable and Im looking forward to my next appointment with her!

I always have an amazing and relaxing experience at this location. Ive been coming here for about a year and a half and the staff is friendly, professional, and they go above and beyond to make the best experience for their clients. The massage rooms, tranquility areas and restrooms are usually clean. Ive gotten massages from Lucas on many occasions and he is awesome. The owner Steve is also extremely attentive and helpful. Definitely go check them out!

I received a massage from Cameron who did an excellent job. The pressure he used was great and he consistently asked if I was comfortable. I had several tight areas and I felt he spent an appropriate amount of time on each area to help rid me of my pain. He also stretched my body which felt amazing and reminded me of my athletic days when trainers did the same. The facility is always maintained well and the staff is always professional & kind.

Demetra is great! Full body massage! She is great! Massage and facials are always wonderful at this location. She gets a 6!!! Higher than a 5!But….the front desk staff used to be way more friendly and in the past, interacted with a positive attitude - it has really changed over the last months and it feels almost like the front desk staff is annoyed, when checking people in or having to update my credit card information (after my card was stolen and I had a new card issued)! I have been here for almost 9 years! Another situation - when I booked a massage with the call center and they messed up - and the front desk staff kept questioning me in a negative tone telling me the call center messed up, while other customers were around, as opposed to fixing the problem with a positive attitude. They were taking the frustrations of the call center out on me! These are not pleasant interactions when walking into a calm place.Various negative interactions have occurred the last 3-4 times now. These are just a few. I hope this culture goes back to a more friendly helpful culture. I care - that’s why I am writing this down. The front desk staff don’t seem to smile or feel welcoming, but as soon as I interact with the massage and facial therapists - they are smiling and very customer oriented.I will still give high reviews for Demetra! But real work needs to get done with the front desk staff - they represent the culture. It used to be consistently great and now it’s consistently below average.

What an amazing experience first I started with a 90 min massage with Miriama. The experience was so relaxing, from the moment she started till she finished, the firm pressure was perfect. It was as if she could read my mind and figure out all the areas I needed massaging. I dosed off several times from the massage being so relaxing. Miriama’s gentle but firm pressure will remove all stress. I also had a facial that left me amazed. I have extremely dry and sensitive skin. The esthetician Mary had a way of making my skin look so youthful and moisturized. I went in with dry scaly skin and came out with glowing smooth skin. She informed me of the importance of good facial routine. I never felt pressured into buying their products. This experience was amazing I do recommend this Message Envy.👍🏻👍🏻

Had a great massage with Joey! Only comment is room I was in had a box fan going instead of a quieter modern unit. Distracted a bit from otherwise peaceful ambience. Still left feeling great!

I have been a member for 6 years in this location. 100% consistent. I am so impressed at how they managed to pivot and keep everyone safe so we can still obtain massages and facials in this difficult time. Charlie is always so friendly and helpful! Cameron is an incredible masseuse and Mary gives wonderful facials - so needed this time of year with neck problems with endless Zoom and dry heat/weather on the skin. Thank you Massage Envy team!

Joey has very able and skillful hands. Being a physical therapist myself who knows and uses massage therapy techniques too, I am very impressed with his own techniques and talent. In fact, I have recommended him as well as Massage Envy to many of my friends and even my physical therapy clients who can benefit from wellness services. Joey is truly an asset to the massage therapist team. Also, I have received massage from Arlene a couple of weeks ago. She is also excellent and another talented massage therapist I would recommend for clients who would prefer a female therapist.This shows that Massage Envy has a fantastic and complete team of providers and support staff. Massage Envy definitely provides many wellness benefits and service options and equipped with great amenities, and a clean, professional, and relaxing environment.

I called ahead and was told it was a $20 dollar charge if youre an out of state member and to switch your membership to their location you just fill out forms when you get there. Turns out its a $60 charge and you need to bring proof of residency which I didnt have on me.

I really like this location of ME. Recently, I saw Tammy. Wow!!!! She has such skilled hands. Great amount of pressure worked all the stress out.Do yourself a favor and book 90 min. With all the cheap bodywork places around it’s nice to spend a little more and get some real value and expertise from talented therapists.I also really like their facials.

This particular Massage Envy is very well run. The owner is hands on & does everything possible to make your experience great. The atmosphere is serenen, relaxing & clean. They do temperature checks upon arrival which is appreciated. The massage therapists I have used are very efficient & professional.

The front desk employees at this location are unethical and try to bully customers for tips. I specified a tip amount for my service. The cashier pretended not to understand me for 5 minutes. Then she agreed to what I said. Then she charged my card for almost 2X the tip amount that we agreed on. When asked for a printed receipt she tried to get me to accept an emailed one which was delayed so I insisted on a printed one. The printed one showed the overcharge and when asked to refund the overcharge she pretended to not know what I was talking about again so I had to hand write the numbers for her. Then she called her manager to give me a refund. Tips are 100% based on service and customer choice. You cannot lie, manipulate and scheme your customers. Despite the great massage and facial this place will be getting 2 stars and I will not be returning. If you go here be VERY vigilant about your receipts because they try to steal money from their customers.Massage=10/10Facial=10/10

Demetra is the best! I recently had surgery and she was very accommodating and made sure I was comfortable. Her pressure was perfect and the massaged was awesome.

I had 3 massages at the Gramercy location, the first was average so the next time I went in I asked to change therapist. Cameron was my therapist the second time and he was wonderful. His question to know if I had any injuries or if I wanted to focus on a certain area made way to a very relaxing and a great massage. Before we started, he asked if I wanted to do some stretching and that was amazing!The front desk personnel is always very courteous and nice. High recommend this place.

I love this location. I’ve been going here since 2018. It’s such a nice experience and membership. If you’re interested in facials, I would recommend Marilyn. You are in great hands and she is an expert on skincare. Massages are great here too!

This rating is an overall review. If it was just strictly for the atmosphere and reception, Id definitely have given 5 stars. But because of the specific therapist I had, this establishment gets the mark it gets. Bear with me while I establish my anticipation.Ive never gotten any sort of massage or work on myself in my life. Ive worked very hard all my life and I know my family appreciates the fruits of my labor. So, for this past Mothers Day 2023, my son got me a gift card to this establishment he saw advertising. I was so looking forward to go. I was hella excited and anticipation grew more when they contacted me about keeping my appointment 24 hours before.Upon arrival, front desk staff was so accommodating and nice. Faith, the young lady who took my information also offered me a beverage, gave me a tour of the facility and gave me more reasons to be excited.I was taking in the ambience waiting for my therapist to call me. When she saw me, I saw the instant disappointment and dejection in her eyes. But, trying to be optimistic, I pushed that thought away and just thought to myself, go for it! you never do any pampering for yourself. Relax and have a good time. I can say, for sure, my therapist is good at her job. I felt strain release and relaxation like never before. But, I also felt cold vibe, almost a meanest coming from the therapist. Her only way to relate to me was to insult me. I told her about my pain and areas focus on. She complied with my issues and I told her my body was so at ease, I felt I might not be able to walk. To this she said dont pretend you cant walk just because you dont want to cook tomorrow at the cookout. (The next day was Memorial Day) I found this offensive because you think that of course, Im black and little thick, sure Im going to a cookout or hosting one. Well, I dont do cookouts, I actually respect and revere veterans on Memorial day. Its not a day for me to be loud, obnoxious and eat til I split. Or to shop outlandishly. Thats not my lifestyle and for you to judge me is a bit much. I wonder if I was of another race, if shed say that to me. Im sure you might think my therapist, Denisha, is etc race. But no, shes black, like me, possible an extremely similar shade. My point is people need to stop assuming or generalizing, same race or not. Its offensive and demeaning and extremely rude. Some people need to be trained in socialization before they work with the general public. its not funny, cool or small talk. its mean and rude and there needs to be a platform on intra-racial microaggressions and bullying. its a thing that goes on in the black community especially blackwomen amongst black women and no one talks about or even addresses.Needless to say, no matter how I tried to put a positive swing on this thing, it was ruined for me. I would never go back nor recommend them to friends or family. With things like this, I often wonder who hires people who would make a client feel this way. Then its a matter of not having faith in the company itself. You only get one chance to make a good first impression.You may have better or different experience than I had but I always am going to be honest in my reviews whether good, bad or ugly.

This place has always been staffed with wonderful therapists and lovely receptionists. The past few times Ive gone, however, the deep tissue massage has been leaving me wanting more from my sessions. Im not sure what the solution is for this but its still a lovely place to relax. Personally I just need more pressure and more sports massage therapy than what they are offering currently. Not sure if that will change in the future.

Best massage ever!! I booked a 60-minute deep tissue massage with Arlene, and shes amazing. As a former competitive gymnast and someone with chronic migraines, I 100% recommend booking a massage with her. I also wanted to shout out Charlie who I spoke to before and after my massage- he was so kind and helpful! Thank you all! :)

Nicole was amazing! It was the best massage I’ve ever had. She went into detail beforehand to explain what may be causing some of the pain I had been feeling in my arms and shoulders. She was so informative. I highly suggest booking with her!

The therapist, Anthony was great but the customer service was lacking. I called the day before to check in on the price because it was gifted to me and I just wanted to make sure I knew what to expect. When I arrive someone who I think may have been the owner or management (he was dressed in regular clothes and did not look like the other workers; so Im guessing) greeted me said that it would be a surcharge because the services cost more there. Which was the same price as what I was told when I called. I had a great relaxing massage and when I went to pay there was an extra charge. I simply shared that was not what was communicated and the individual said that the person that spoke to me yesterday wrote that they had explained this. I was like no that wasnt explained but heres my card just charge whatever it is. He continued to reference the notes instead of taking my card. I explained to him again that wasnt what I was told even if the person wrote that. Then moved my card closer. He again brought but the notes and did not take my card. At this point Im like just charge it I do not care. I was just letting you know. He takes my card and finally processes my payment. It was annoying because instead of saying something like there was some miscommunication or misinterpretation on the price and this is the price he just continued to reference notes. At the end even if it was on my end or the other person end. He felt like he was trying to justify instead of moving the process along and it was just more than I wanted to deal with after a relaxing massage.

Sara at the front desk was very patient with me as I made changes to multiple appointments. This professional behavior is to be expected at this site, where everyone at the front desk is always so nice.And Tomoko, my massage therapist, was once again wonderful! I look forward to coming to see her each month.

Each location of Massage Envy is independently owned and operated. Having been to quite a few, this location is a cut above the rest! The staff is kind and welcoming, the estheticians and therapists are very knowledgeable, and the owner is incredibly responsive and truly cares for their business and the wellbeing of their customers. I would go out of my way to seek services at this specific location!

I had the opportunity to have my facial done by Mary.Ive had facials done with others but Mary rocks!!She is professional, knowledgeable and has a wonderful, delightful personality. I was so impressed with her and her work ethics so much that my husband had his done with her and he loved every minute of it. Excellent, I highly recommend her to everyone that wants and needs a facial.Mary is the one for you!

The owner was extremely rude and not professional at all!! He was unwilling to apologize for his aggressive demeanor and the way he spoke to his staff was also intolerable, I will never go back to this location and I am completely turned off by the brand as a whole if this is how they treat members. I will be canceling my membership after this horrible experience. My partner and I went to have a relaxing experience but instead was aggressively approached after the session from the owner about not having mask on during massage, after his employee said take off everything to your level of comfort. We are both triple vaccinated and his approach was extremely unacceptable!! I am sure if I was on of his Caucasian counterparts the interaction would of been better. He spoke to me in the same aggressive demeanor he spoke to his ethnic employees.

Ive gone to get a facial and then for massage with the 3-pack offer. The rooms are clean, and the tranquil music is appropriate. I highly recommend Marcus for massage. Hes awesome! He takes his job seriously and professionally, but is a lovely person. He is very experienced.The front desk are nice, and welcoming. While the model of all Massage Envy locations is to sell and up-sell the monthly memberships, the desk attendants were not hard core and were fine if I did not purchase the membership.My only hope is the choice of teas! Id love to have some green tea as a choice. But that is a minor point in an overall lovely experience.

I can’t speak to other locations, but this Massage Envy sets the bar VERY high! From the check-in process, to the waiting room, to the actual therapy rooms, everything is clean, professional, and just a seamless process! Especially after COVID, you can tell all of the precautions they take to ensure a safe and clean environment!All the providers have been great with targeting specifically what I’ve wanted and ensure the pressure was comfortable. By far, Tomoko has been the nicest and most attentive provider I’ve ever had! Definitely recommend her if you are able to snag a spot with her very in-demand schedule!Overall, I cannot say enough about this amazing massage center and it’s very convenient location, 11/10 would recommend!

Finally a great, affordable place in Gramercy. I always had to go elsewhere in the city to get a comfortable massage. Not any more. My wife and I did a couples massage for 90 minutes. We both fell asleep. Felt like a mini-vacation. Service was great, the tranquility room was a nice touch, and the price was terrific. It was totally private. No cheap sheets where everyone else can hear and see you. We both signed up as members to get their discounted pricing. Im a fan for sure.

I feel that it’s a 50-50 chance whether you’re gonna get a good massage or not. Last session was amazing. This one was not so great. Was supposed to be a deep tissue and I felt like there was no pressure whatsoever, didn’t focus on what I asked and I felt like this person really didn’t want to be doing the massage.

The Gramercy location has done an amazing job with social distance guidelines and is extremely clean. The staff goes above and beyond for all of there customers. I see Cameron once a month for deep tissue/stretch and he is absolutely wonderful. I highly recommend this location.

I have been there a few times and my last two times I waited pass my appointment time. Both times the provider said they didn’t know I checked in, blaming the front desk for not letting them know I was there. I doubt that.My facial felt rushed and NOT relaxing at all. She was to rough and to fast. I have had plenty of facials and know what to expect. The front desk try’s very hard to push you to buy packages etc, but I will not be returning.

I have been going to the East 23 rd Street location for years. It is a wonderful place where the staff is knowledgeable , professional and caring. Cameron is my favorite masseur. He listens, he gives good advice about posture, exercise and he gives a soothing massage.

I always have great experiences at the different ME locations Ive been to, but this location was by far the best. I went to Massage Envy on e 23rd street in Manhattan. It was very clean and everyone was very professional and kind.Tammy was a wonderful masseuse and I left with zero sciatic pain and an still feeling better the next day- and my sciatica had been chronic and quite painful.She checked in often throughout the massage to ask if the pressure was good and took my particular issues (sciatica, arthritis) into concern. I chose 10 minutes of the “rtr” (massage gun type apparatus) to my 60 minute massage and it was incredible.In the wrong hands, used too aggressively on my sciatic nerve area, this could of left me sore for days, as other very aggressive deep intense massages have done in the past, but her technique was well thought out and felt amazing and absolutely heavenly with no pain afterwards.A great experience!

Canceling membership here feels like a total scam. I am not able to cancel in person or over the phone or even email. The only way for me to cancel my membership is to wait for the manager to call me back and its u clear when that is going to happen. Its obvious that these policies have been made to make it extremely inconvenient for someone to cancel their membership. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

I would love to recommend Massage Envy location on 23rd Street from the friendly and professional welcome from Diego, the awesome massage from Demetra that helped loosen up my hip and the skin clearing microdermabrasion from Mary but dont want to because it will just make it harder for me to get an appointment. ❤ They also demonstrate an efficient manner of making sure that the site, clients and staff are practicing safe measures to prevent the spread of Covid. 👍 Thank you.

I highly recommend Lucas at the Gramercy location! I let him know I was having issues in a certain area on my shoulders and he provided much relief. He also went above and beyond with advising on stretching and demonstrated them for me so I do not end up so knotted in the future. Very professional and gave a great deep massage!

Not worth it!!! Massage was average, very slow movements so you get 5 min massage per area only. On top of that they put oil on my body and never wiped it, and scalp massage was performed with oily hands. After this session you need to take a shower before going somewhere. Idk who gave such a high reviews?! I had massage in a lot of places, for price of Mandarin Oriental spa at Massage Envy you get only sweet talking receptionist. Is not a place for a good massage therapy.

Just had a massage with Cameron yesterday at the Gramercy location. I have had this persistent right shoulder pain and gotten previous massages which didnt really help the right shoulder pain as much. Cameron did stretching and massage on the right shoulder and upper back and my right shoulder feels great. I will have to schedule a massage with Cameron if the right shoulder starts acting up again!

This is one of the best Massage Envys Ive been too. Ive been to a few in California before moving to New York. Ive had two different massage therapists at this particular location, and Joes my favorite. It really helps with my chronic shoulder tension. Also the best perk is if you schedule your next appointment in person, you get to spin a wheel for a free additional perk with your next appointment. Overall, nice space with friendly staff.

Ive been going to Massage Envy in Gramercy for quite some time. For the price and experience, its a great massage option in the city. The Gramercy location has a friendly staff and its a calming experience every time. Ive been going to the same therapist for awhile now, which certainly helps, but regardless of the therapist, each massage hits the spot!

Massage Envy on 23rd NYC: Tomoko was lovely and massage helped a very sore back during a difficult time experiencing unfortunate loss of loved one on my birthday. I highly recommend her. And hope to see her again. I have mixed feelings about some of my staff interactions following massage.With unforseen incoming phone call afterward as I shared with staff of the death I wish staff would have approached me with compassion instead of being rudely manhandled after I acknowledged & complied with theit reminders of space etiquette & mask mandate as i was learning ropes as new member with an not everyday situation upon me. Standing waiting outside bathroom door knocking while I was using it should have not occurred. Rude taste left in my mouth.Then I was called the very next day to be further educated which could have waited till Monday --when compassion & space for the clients bereavement process should have been taken into consideration and priority. After a 20 minutes of this education Can you pay a tip now should not have been the primary focus--- She will get her tip I said, as she was great. No apology or acknowledgement was forthcoming just oh my staff didnt tell me that at what point they learned of the death. Also at the time of being charged for the service I wasnt asked which card I would you like to use in fact it was never even stated we are running payment now - a standard practice to be informed when charging ones card. As a new member I expected to be clearly communicated with for any transactions and not called on a Saturday in the middle of bereavement to be further reminded of compliance for Covid protocols when I have at another time and all other times been completely compliant. With her courteous reminder I complied reattched the one ear of mask In back room I was sitting with noone else. I agreed and moved to comply, go bathroom and leave. That staff member showed zero patience even as I put mask back on-asap she was already frustrated and escalated situation to uncomfortable for me waiting outside bathroom knocking repeatedly. Think for a minute...and absorb some feedback.

I have been a member of Massage Envy for over 5 years. Started my membership in Florida. The experience of calmness begins when you walk through their doors. Its like having an Aha! moment.

Do not support this location! The owner is a thief. They will charge you $40-$60 if you membership is from another state regardless of what you pay for your membership. They claim theirs is more expensive (which means the owner is robbing their members) so they have a policy to charge that no matter what. My membership is from NJ and $75 a month, theirs is $80 but if I wanted to go there I’d have to pay an extra $40 to use my credits. If they wanted to charge me the $5 difference they ok but $40-$60 ROBBERY!!! The whole point of using a chain is the flexibility of multiple locations.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!! The front desk people were rude and not supportive.I had recently moved and wanted to change my membership to this location to avoid a service fee. I filled out the required forms and they assured me that I wouldnt be charge the service fee once I filled out forms and provided proof of residency. Long and behold, I was charged the service fee and without telling me at checkout. When I did find out I was charged, I called to try to get an explanation why, I was told that my membership was not fully transferred and will take a few days to get the regional manager/directors approval. It has been 3-4 weeks and still no answer. I called to get an update and still nothing happened. The front desk rep was not helpful and felt like he couldnt care less about my situation. Completely rude behavior and its unacceptable. I am taking my business to another location. I do not recommend this location. Worst location I have been to and I have been a member for 10+ years. With all that said, I didnt even mention the mediocre massage I had.

DO NOT GET THE MEMBERSHIP HERE!!! IT IS A SCAM!!!I signed up for the membership in 2015. In 2016, I cancelled -- I always found the therapists themselves perfectly good, but it was often hard to get an appointment and I found I wasnt using it. When I cancelled, I signed a cancellation form, and asked the person there several times to be sure that I wouldnt be charged for future months. He assured me that he was cancelling my accounts and that I wouldnt be charged again. When I cancelled, I had several treatments accrued that I could still use, so over the next few months, I used up my accrued treatments. Each time, I explained that I had cancelled my membership, and the desk person would confirm that yes, my membership was cancelled, but that I had X treatments remaining. I used the last of my accrued treatments in Nov 2016. On Monday of this week, I discovered that they have CONTINUED TAKING OVER $70 OUT OF MY BANK ACCOUNT MONTHLY ALTHOUGH I CANCELLED MY ACCOUNT IN 2016!!! THE AMOUNT THEY HAVE TAKEN SINCE I CANCELLED IS OVER $1500!Reading through the reviews, I see that P.C. HAD THE SAME EXPERIENCE AND POSTED A SEPARATE REVIEW ON YELP ON 7/5/2017 -- THAT THEY CONTINUED TO CHARGE HER CREDIT CARD WITHOUT AUTHORIZATION AFTER THEY CANCELLED HER MEMBERSHIP.DAY 1: On Tuesday, I called them and explained the situation and the employee said shed look at my file and call me back. No return call.DAY 2: On Wednesday I called back and was told I needed to speak to a manager who wouldnt be in till 11. I tried her at 11, 11:30, but she still wasnt in. I had a medical procedure that afternoon. I finally hear back from her, and she says I need to speak to the owner and shed have him call me.DAY 3: Thursday, I call the manager back and say I havent heard from the owner, and could she please give me his email address. She says shell explain that its urgent, and that shell email me his email address. No return call, no email.DAY 4: Still no return call. I call back in the afternoon. Im told the manager will be in later today. This remains to be seen ... Ill update this review if and when I hear back.****UPDATE: no return call.DAY 5: I receive a call from the reception person explaining that the manager isnt in because shes sick. I explain that the owner (a different person) is supposed to call me and hasnt for 3 days. She says she doesnt know why the owner isnt calling me back.DAY 6: I receive a call (while Im at a childs birthday party) from the manager. She says that she is willing to refund me half of the 20 treatments I have been charged for since I cancelled. The other half I will have to take in massage credits. I tell her that is unacceptable -- they cant just take money from my bank account without authorization and then say I can only have part of it back in the form of treatments I dont want. I inform her that, since the amount in question exceeds $1000, this reads as grand larceny embezzlement under state law, which is a felony. I later call her back and ask her for the owners direct contact information, since she says she cant offer another deal without his authorization. She refuses to give it to me.DAY 7: No return callDAY 8: I call the manager and again explain the deal is unacceptable and why and again ask for the owners contact information. She again refuses to give it to me.DAY 9: I receive an email from the owner saying hell call me later that afternoon. After several hours I email him back saying can he specify a time because I things to do and cant just wait for him to call. No reply. I try calling him twice. No reply. At 6:00 pm, I have to pick up my son so give up.

Lucas is the glue that put Humpty Dumpty back together again. I have chronic pain and tightness in my back/hips/etc and his deep tissue work keeps me moving! He is very knowledgeable and explains the muscle groups he’s working on and how they impact movement etc. You can tell he truly cares about helping people feel better and I really appreciate his efforts. Highly recommend.

Wow ! I found this place online, and just happily finished a great therapeutic deep tissue massage at a SMALL fraction of the exorbitant price I paid at my nearby hotel for a disappointing treatment. The therapist demonstrated authentic interest in my satisfaction, and went out of her way to make sure she was targeting the problem areas effectively. Check it out - you wont regret it, especially for the price, easy access right off the street, available appointments, and the comfortable, professional environment.

I started going to massage envy almost about 2 months now.average 2 to 3 visits per week. And I just want to say that all of the staff deserverve an APLUS ..ESPECIALLY THE manager,rosali ..massage therapist Timoko, and stretch massage therapist DAnisha..both incredible.. I was diagnosed at birth with cerebral palsy, rt. Hip displacia and have had 12 surgeries on my legs within 48hrs of seeing dinisha I was walking up steps I never could in my building ! Its incredible for me being seen by this team of miracle workers changed my life !!! I recommend anyone with joint or muscle issues come specifically to massage envy at 312 east 23 ny ny see Danisha and tomoko as a team and your health will make a complete turn around..REV. I scheduled a deep tissue couples massage for our one year anniversary. When we arrived, the person at the front desk told us that only one of the two masseuses does deep tissue. When we said that we had asked for both of us to get deep tissue massages, the person at the front desk simply said that while the masseuse could make a firmer massage, she does not offer deep tissue massage. She offered no alternatives.

Demetra is wonderful. I wasnt originally planning on coming back because I live over an hour away, but she is so fantastic I bought a package and will come back. I felt so relaxed and she is so nice.

I wasnt going to leave a bad review because the staff was nice but ever since my massage Ive had a great deal of neck pain. The massage therapist was SO bad, she didnt know how to massage.( My sister is a massage therapist so I know what a massage is suppose to feel like but i had a gift card for this place) I was very uncomfortable the entire time. I couldnt wait to get out of there.As for my neck, the pain started shortly after the massage. I ve been taking advil and putting heating packs on it daily. Im miserable.

Management is always so nice! The atmosphere is so soothing and everyone there seems like they love their job. They have fruit infused water which is so great in this heat. Wayne was my massage therapist and his hands are to die for!

Ill start with a positive - Steve, the manager/owner is fantastic. Hes very nice and you can tell hes passionate about his business.Where Massage Envy (perhaps just this location or the franchise as a whole) fails SPECTACULARLY is with their membership model and the terribly aggressive and rude desk staff.We were given a gift certificate to Massage Envy - as noted in other reviews, if youre new to Massage Envy, expect an obligatory membership sales pitch at the completion of your session. They pulled out all the stops and threw in some promos that made us feel borderline stupid for not subscribing. Honestly, we were only there because of the gift card...take your cues and know when its time to back off.Thats not even half of it though...Wait till you see the signs all over the lobby regarding tipping. Well, it just so happens that they get a lot of customer questions about how much to tip, so they did everyone the courtesy of printing and mounting signs everywhere with their answer!15-20% of the NON-MEMBER priceMind you, the non-member price for a massage is anywhere from 50-75% higher than the member price. So, after members plunk down about $80 per month to subscribe here, theyre then asked to pony up a 30-35% tip for each and every massage they receive as a member. So what on earth is the point of membership then, and where is that monthly membership fee going exactly, because it certainly isnt going to the therapists...Rant aside, reflecting back to our visit there, upon finishing our massage, my wife and I did what any self-respecting New Yorkers would do: we completely ignored the signs, deciding to provide a tip that we thought was commensurate with the service we received. When we told the woman at the desk the dollar amount to add to our total bill for a tip, she said thats for each massage, right? To that, we answered, no, thats the total.She snapped back, Oh, so youre not tipping based on the suggestion, per the sign? while pointing at the two identical signs to the left and right of her computer.No, were not.And with that, we signed over our gift certificate and our conversation ended, as did our interest in ever returning to this or any other Massage Envy. This is not the way to make a first impression people...(For what its worth, my actual massage was a solid 7 out of 10, but not worth their non-member price, and certainly not worth their non-member tip suggestion)

I became a member of Massage Envy almost a year ago. My issue was acne and uneven skin because of the acne and shaving/ingrown hairs. I met Erica, and she has taught me great skin isn’t simply a matter of DNA , but daily habits. Because of her I am on the right skin care path and the results are getting better. Aside from basic facials, I’ve received chemical peels and microdermabrasion which has taken away my acne and the scars that came from it.Im looking forward to more facials with Erica in the future, and I would definitely recommend her and the professional staff at Massage Envy.

Marilyn Capo from Message Envy on E 23rd street is the best esthetician I’ve ever had! I seen a difference in my skin from the very first facial I had with her from over a year ago!

I am new to NY from Ireland and went to the massage envy gramercy location. Shoutout to the manager Steve as he was very accommodating and really matched me with the right masseuse. Her name was Nicole and she was fantastic. He signede up for the membership and Im excited for my monthly massages!

Lesson learned, dont go for massage unless its a personal recommendation. While check in stuff was nice, my massage therapist Janise was subpar. She was going through the motions , presiing her pointy thumbs really hard. I told her I liked firm pressure in the beginning but she didnnt understand how to work with a body and how to put person at ease. I felt like being poked and tossed around, couldnt relax and just wanted it to be over. The check in person said the therapist will go over what she found out about my back at the end but that didnt happen, she just handed me the water and ran off. I dont think shed have a clue anyway, she wanted this session to be over more than I did and it came through her treatment. Make sure you know your therapist before you come!

The most unprofessional staff. From frequent booking errors to a rude and curt owner (even towards colleagues) , this is the worst Massage Envy I’ve been to. That’s not to say Massage Envy as a company is terrible - just this particular location. Do not book even if you’re in the NYC area; book at another Massage Envy or spa that’s nearby.

Went there recently. The service was horrendous. The massage itself was painful and when I told her that its too much she continued to apply firm pressure in the wrong spots. I dont recommend it.

(Feb 27th 2020) MassageThe girls at the front desk are AMAZING! So warm and welcoming, i was blown away at their hospitality. They offered drinks or tea upon greeting me. Then the entire process was explained carefully before hand, which was excellent for someone who dont normally get massages. My massure was rammy (not sure of the spelling), he was fantastic! Pressure was great, gentleness was perfect! Couldnt be happier, deff going to be a returning customer XOXO

Danisha is very knowledgeable and knows her stuff when it comes to the muscles and how to stretch them and get out the kinks. She has a very pleasant disposition, a positive attitude, and really listens to her clients.

Massage Envy in Gramercy is a lovely space. Staff was welcoming and attentive. Great relaxing massage with Nichole. Made another appointment to go back for more.

I’ve been coming to Massage Envy to see Demetra for a few years now, she is absolutely the best!! She always makes me feel special and I leave every time refreshed and relaxed.

Location and staff are good. Definitely important to find a massage therapist that you like and stick with them. This location seems to have a reasonably high staff turnover however, so be prepared to recalibrate every so often.

My massage was great. The room was a little musty but its my first time back since the pandemic and Im a bit sensitive to smells. Other than that, it was fine.

Everyone was friendly and attentive. El went out of her way to accommodate my neck stiffness. The complimentary facial was awesome!

So I have never came on google reviews to write about a message place(usually a restaurant guy) but they have left me with no choice. My wife bought message envy membership in Baltimore and we moved it to this location when we moved to city. It all started well but things has gone down the hill. Currently they have our $280 for which they are not providing us service for. Its not that they are refusing the service but every-time we book the service they cancel saying the masseuse cancelled last minute.We had booked a valentine day couples message and they cancelled on us on 12th of February saying that the masseuse had some emergency. Finally we decided to cancel the membership and they gave us 60 days to use the unused messages. Now we book again for March 10, initially we get call on March 5th or 6th stating again that the masseuse had family emergency and they will have to cancel. We get a call from manager Rosalie(apologies if I spelled the name incorrectly) that she has taken care of the issue and we are still on for 10th March message. We plan our weekend accordingly and we get a call from them on 9th March at 9PM stating that even this masseuse got a family emergency and they will be cancelling our message!!! You got to be kidding me. At this point I am feeling that they are just delaying so they can deny us service and take away our money! I dont know if I need to go to BBB or lawyer to get my money and compensation for harassment! Messages are supposed to be relaxing but this one is giving us more stress than relaxation.

Loved the atmosphere and everyone on the staff was super nice. My massage was excellent. Will definitely be returning.

Clean. Aroma and decor was pleasant. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable about services. If driving parking can be challenging but public transportation is great for trains and buses.
