Fabulous experience!I made a last minute decision to visit QC late on Sunday afternoon from Brooklyn. It was easy to get there on the ferry. Once on island, a quick 3 minute walk got me in the door to heaven. The staff were all friendly, polite, and accommodating.I was there for the sunset experience and it was amazing. The crowd was light and there were plenty of seats and lots of room in the treatment rooms and pools. The saunas, steam rooms, were plentiful and comfortable. I took advantage of all of them. The food and drink prices were a tad heavy, but, for the environment, acceptable.I have found my new happy spot.
This was a great start to the summer getaway. We were a group of 5. The ferry was big enough that it felt pretty empty even with a big crowd heading to governors island at 1030am. Upon arriving to the island there are signs guiding you to where the spa was located. The check in area was so esthetically pleasing and it smelled so nice. It did get a little crowded as multiple groups were checking in at the same time. Check in required all people in the party to have their id and there was a staff member guiding how to use the machine to complete the process of checkin. You get a bracelet that has your locker #. Once you head to the floor of the bathrooms there are two different wings. Both bathrooms were beautiful. The showers had shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Next to the lockers you have some benches and some pumps with face lotion, and other face/body cream for use. In your locker you get a robe, two towels, and slippers. We started the experience upstairs and worked our way down. There are different themes to each room and even a sandclock available for you to time how long youre in the space. There were staff members walking around with fruits, face masks and other goodies to enhance your experience. The different scents and amenities in each room were so fun. It was great to experience with friends. Once we started to head downstairs we went to the saunas. The downstairs floors had multiple steam rooms with a variety of themes, temperatures, sounds and scents. Youre also next to the Vichy showers and the foot massages. Once youre done there there is a door that leads you to the pool area. There are beds, Lounge chairs and its first come. While we did start with chairs in the grassy space, we soon shifted closer to the pool. The pool is divided into different sections and the massage chairs available inside the pool are a fun experience. The relaxation does not end. The pool area is also connected to the final 2 saunas, face infrared and the dining space. You can order your food and take it out to where youre sitting in the pool area. There is no rush to leave the pool area or sense of urgency to leave the spa. We had a great day and ended up taking the ferry after 5:00pm.
This was my second visit in a week. The first time we came from 5-10 pm, the second time we were there from 10-3.From start to finish, this spa /retreat had an amazing vibe. We were greeted by the staff as soon as we walked through the door. The check-in process was simple, and the locker room amenities are well stocked and organized. Im very impressed that they provide Dyson hair dryers with various diffusers, and the showers have all the products you need. There werent any hair styling products, so be sure to bring your own if you use them. I also suggest bringing your own sandals because the ones provided are uncomfortable.Throughout our experience, we got lost frequently, there is no map provided, and the only thorough guide is the key is in the elevators. I got stuck in a stairwell with no reentry when I attempted to take the stairs to the locker room. (The elevators are really slow. ) Every time we got lost, there was a staff member who kindly guided us where we wanted to go. I thought the staff was really friendly and helpful.I highly recommend trying the pool nearest the garden cafe as it doesnt get as crowded. Speaking of the cafe, the food isnt great. Its simple and healthy, but pretty bland. The quinoa salad came with a very small amount of dressing that had no seasoning. My favorite things to do were hanging out in the pool listening to an orchestra underwater, the upstairs Gazebo sauna with a great view of lower Manhattan, and the chairs in the less crowded pool that provided a wonderful massage via jets. Its so nice that they limit the number of entries each day. There was little to no wait for any of the experiences, and where there was a wait, it was brief. All in all, this place is fantastic and worth the money. Plan some time before or after your spa visit to enjoy some of the other things that the island has to offer: restaurants and beach snack shacks, art exhibits, cycling, and more.
This is a cool spa to spend the day away from the city. It truly is a sweet escape. It is a trip (ferry ride from 10 South Street-about 5 minutes ) but it is free if you go to QC NY spa.Check-in: Welcoming, warm, and friendly staff. The check in was on a tablet screen and it was quick and easy. Although I did hear some customers complaining about some minor glitches- hopefully that got resolved. At the end of check in, you get printed wristbands for the duration of your stay.Women’s Lockers: pretty clean and there are two areas of lockers called the East and West wings. The lockers are good sized and can fit many things. You put a 5 digit passcode of your choice. They provide you with a bathrobe with a belt and two towels. I would suggest the spa to invest in bath robes with pockets 🙏🏼 they also provide you with flip flops but some customers said they’re not comfy. I brought my own so that was not a problem for me.Food: pricey but delicious. I would suggest eating a good breakfast before coming here since their food is specialized in light bites or planning to go eat somewhere after. I wished I could have checked out Gitano Island restaurant that is nearby (Tulum theme based/ Mexican cuisine) but because of the blackout, I couldn’t. You can use your wrist band that they give you at check in to purchase products during your stay.Drinks: they have soft drinks and cocktails and teas and coffee (different variety). They have free hydration stations with mint water, apple cider and citrus water- this was a plus. However, their cups are smalls- I would suggest proving the regular sized plastic cups and not the mini ones.Price: I was able to go and use the birthday promotion. It is pricey regardless but we saved money and celebrated a birthday- a nice plus! I wish, in general, the spa was more affordable (birthday promo on a Friday- appx. $175 including taxes for two people- birthday guest and regular guest)Cleanliness: 8/10. Sone parts of the pools needed improvement but not bad.Pools: I was surprised there were two areas of small lounge pools. I loved them. The water jet massages chairs could be more comfy but the views were 10/10! I loved the small pool with underwater music- so relaxing and intriguing.Saunas: they were 10/10! They had good variety and options of wet and dry saunas! They even had an infrared bedroom with several beds. My only feedback here was an obnoxious customer but that was not the spa’s fault. People must wait their turn and be more respectful. There was a foot bath, and Vinchi showers that were so relaxing. I truly enjoyed these.Amenities: they provided shampoo, clean showers with some privacy and conditioner and soap. They also had Dyson hair dryers and diffusers! Unfortunately, I did not get to enjoy them due to the blackout we had on Governor’s island. Women’s locker room also had bathrooms and a private dressing room.Customer service: friendly and service oriented 🙌🏼I highly recommend the spa. It smells wonderful due to the different aromas they have all around. Also even their washcloths were scented. They give you free facial mask and body and face scrubs (small samples but a good amount) for you to use. I loved the different rooms they had- Jazz music room, fireplace room, and an upside down room. I would suggest purchasing the birthday promo to save some $. Their massages prices and time are $$$$ and short (I believe $100 for 25 minutes) so I did not try the massages. They also sell water proof wear if you do not have a bathing suit. If this was a bit more affordable, I would give this 5 stars.
My first visit to QC Spa in New York City was nothing short of amazing. The customer service was impeccable, with the staff going above and beyond to ensure I had a relaxing and enjoyable experience. The facilities were top-notch, and every detail was meticulously maintained, creating a serene and luxurious atmosphere. I left feeling completely rejuvenated and can’t wait to return for another visit. Highly recommend!
Pros: Convenient, clean, and peaceful spa in the busy city. Sunset and amazing views. All pools, saunas, and locker rooms are clean. 50/50 with extremely pleasant staff throughout the spa. Ferry ride validated with tickets.Cons: Not enough towels and not provided after asking. Slippers are very uncomfortable, regardless of size. Prepared foods wont be switched out, even if tuna salad is raw.
Cool concept & views, poor customer service & low quality massage.I received a gift card for a full day experience and 50 min massage. While waiting in line for the ferry to the spa, I received a phone call that my service is cancelled due to staff calling out. They could only offer me a 25 min massage and at an early time slot. I asked how they would compensate for the shorten service. After much negotiation, they agreed to give me a gift card for another 25 min massage at a later date. The massage service I actually received was low quality. It was not the full 25 mins of actual massage - it was 24 mins which included the masseuse telling me about the service, me changing and the actual service. The majority of the massage was done over a sheet so it was less relaxing. The pool had a great view but there was construction happening while there which distracted from the relaxing nature of the spa.
I recently visited QC NY Spa on Governor Island for a day of relaxation and rejuvenation. The spa has themed relaxing rooms, and the focus is relax and applying the scrub they offer at the door. The variety of saunas available was also a highlight for me, providing ample opportunities to detoxify. One of the standout features of the spa is its stunning views of south Manhattan. The pools outside were refreshingly uncrowded, allowing for a serene and peaceful atmosphere to soak in the surroundings. I particularly enjoyed the infra-red light room, cocoon room, and the foot bath spa, each offering a different and indulgent experience that left me feeling relaxed and refreshed. However, I was disappointed by the food options available. I found that the selection was limited and the quality lacking. The food was served cold, which detracted from the overall experience. QC NY Spa offers a tranquil retreat with breathtaking views and a variety of relaxing amenities. But, improvements could be made in terms of food quality and service to truly elevate the guest experience.
Bought a 5 hour pass for $150 and was able to see and enjoy all of the amenities within that time frame. The spa and pools aren’t as big or relaxing as you would think. I went on a Tuesday afternoon around 12pm (weather 74 degrees) and half way through my reservation the spa was packed and it felt busy. I can only imagine what it’s like on a weekend or a hot sunny day. However, I’m giving it 2 stars because it wasn’t a relaxing experience. I personally came across a lot of passive aggressive and entitled guest at this location. It’s hard to relax when other people are squeezing their way through you, shoving you to get in and out of the amenities and elevators, and fighting for your seat if you get up (the outdoor seating is VERY limited). People definitely had a lack of patience and common courtesy here which unfortunately ruined my experience.
It’s a great spa experience. I’ve been twice here: last year I got a 5 hour pass and yesterday I got a 3 hour pass. I felt like the 3 hour pass was rushed and not enough time to relax. The 5 hour pass is perfect. The only thing I disliked was how expensive food and drinks are here. It’s something to keep in mind. Overall, I had a great experience.
Truly a beautiful location and overall a great experience. A few things to share:Booking: Booking is online only. If you have to adjust your reservation, you cannot call to speak with someone; you must email or adjust online.Check in: The check in process is a bit gruff. Unlike other spas, you will not receive any tour of the facility so you are left to wander and hope you find all of the available amenities. Be sure to get off the ferry before your fellow spa goers or you will end up in a long line.Pool area: This area is gorgeous. Great view and the different pools are all lovely. A bit dirty with some leaves and grime on the steps. Get there early if you want a lounge chair or sun bed, otherwise you’ll be stuck in what is essentially a beach chair.Food and drink: All are expensive. The charcuterie tray is the best value for what you get. Wine pours are generous.Spa facilities: Saunas, steams, and showers are all lovely. Different scrubs and drinking water are placed throughout the facility.Massages: Massages were fine. Definitely not the worst I have had or the best. Come here for the other facilities, not the massages.
We visited during holidays and really liked the experience here. Staff were very friendly. I had some issues with my ticket process but the managers helped and it was all good. Facility is very clean and its smells so good! I would love to return during my birthday! If I had to say few things to improve would be, pool temperature. We were there during cold weather and the outdoor pool water was not hot enough. I think it was just warm. But that might be just me.Second thing is, food. Threes not much of options. And I get that its healthy version of food, but when you spa and sweat, sometimes you need more that healthy food. Maybe more variety of food selection would be nice!Overall, it was very nice and very clean! I wish they sell diffusers online! I loved them but you can only get them in the spa.
Unfortunately I won’t be returning here. Nothing about this spa feels like a luxury experience but is priced as if it is. $175 dollars for a few hours by the pool and no service at all. From the moment you arrive from the ferry, you line up to check in and it feels like a tourist attraction more than it does a spa. There is no one servicing you here. You can’t sit by the pool and order a drink. When we went to grab a bite to eat in one of the cafes, we wanted to share a few items. We paid nearly 80 dollars for a small salad and a tuna wrap. The salad came in a disposable bowl and when we asked for an extra to split the dish, we were refused which was wild. Like asking for an extra paper plate at such an expensive facility and to be denied. We finished our lunch and took our drinks to the pool only to be told by a teenager employee that we couldn’t have our drinks in plastic cups by the pool. My drink was water! I literally couldn’t have a plastic cup of water by the pool. They required us to go put our drinks on a table which was no where near by and completely out of sight. We were very upset by that and it was no surprise that when we went back to the table, our drinks that we paid for and only had a few sips of had been cleared. This place is also super crowded. So many people in small locker rooms and crowded in the saunas, and we came on a rainy day with way less traffic. I can’t imagine this place on a busy day. When asking for an extra towel, an additional fee is required. Hair allllllll over the floors had me not even wanting to shower after the whole experience. This place was a vibe killer from start to finish and not worth the money at all. No where to set your things down anywhere. No pockets in the robes. One small bench in a locker room for 20+ people. At one point, not even enough room to stand 1 star goes to the obviously beautiful view of the city.
I really wanted to love this place fully but there are details they should have refined by now if they are going to call this a luxury spa with the luxury price tag. Overall it’s a gem for New York City with the view and location, Summer is the perfect time to go and it’s romantic for a day date or great for a solo trip. The pool area outside is very relaxing with a beautiful view. I think they might have planted a flower area that attracts bees though. I got chased by a few when I was sitting near the white flowers. The pool jets aren’t strong if that’s what you’re looking for but it’s great to chill in.The facility is very clean and the food was delicious. It took a while to order with the two staff who are located inside. They need to streamline the ordering process or have service outside while they don’t have. The food was small portions so don’t come hungry. I found it very weird I ordered a $24 small chicken wrap and asked for a cup of ice and they said they don’t give out cups of ice because they don’t have a big ice machine. You have to buy a drink. For the price being so high for the food and gratuity without the service, how can they not have ice for their customers? I find it ridiculous and insulting. As far as the lockers go, they are again very clean. They give you two full size towels, robe and clean shoes. The shower was lame though. The shower curtain is so close to you that you can’t help touching it with your body or staring right at it if you turn around. It makes no sense since they have plenty of room in the shower area to give them more space. The conditioner was so bad my hair feels and looks like straw still. You can see in the photo below. It doesn’t make sense. They have cheap conditioner but dyson dryers all around. They had a really nice area with face/body lotion and micellar water. They just need a new micellar water. It stung my eyes and barely took off the makeup. Anyway I would go again but they just need to tweak some things asap.
QC is a beautiful elegant spa. I’m giving it 4 stars because at check in we arrived at 1:45 around 45 min early do to our earlier ferry ride. We were told we would have to wait for our scheduled time at 230. No problem. As we were waiting another group arrived at 2 and they began to check them immediately. They saw me looking so then rushed to check us in. The spa itself and the grounds were beautiful. There were a lot of different wellness experiences and the outdoor pools were great as well. I wouldn’t recommend the massage though. It was a very very basic service for the price. The masseuse didn’t ask a pressure level or if I had injuries she just did a basic minimum level mall massage. Not worth it all. Also, they had water in a few places but with very small cups. I asked at the bistro if I could have a larger cup for water when I ordered my food and they said no. I would suggest maybe bringing a reusable water bottle. Most spas where there is massage and sauna they offer water everywhere, but it didn’t seem to be a priority here. But if you want to go for the spa amenities only it would be worth it.
Great experience, over all very happy.Provided spa sandals were not comfortable and hurt. Also the upside down room and record room were very odd. decor equally strange in certain areas.Maybe a meditation room or yoga space would be more on brand for a spa.Food was expensive and on pair with pre packaged items or catering, needs improving. over all worth the trip, try to eat before or after. Drinks were nice.
We didn’t get a massage but just enjoyed the facilities and it was a wonderful way to end our NYC weekend. I would highly recommend this getaway for a day to rejuvenate from city life. Despite the crowd we always had a place to lounge comfortably and the line for food and wine went quickly. Can’t wait for a hotel to open!
I visited QC Spa yesterday. While the amenities were nice and the pools/view were beautiful, the cafe service left a stain on what otherwise would have been a great day.I ordered a fruit bowl, and the fruit was MOLDED. I wish I had taken a picture, but I was so appalled that I immediately took it back without a second thought. They wouldnt even give me a refund. The cashier claimed he wasnt able to. Instead, he told me I could order something else, free of charge. I ordered the salmon salad, and the lettuce wasnt fresh and was beginning to wilt, so I just picked around it. Not to mention, the latte machine was out of service, and they didnt have breakfast food available (it was 10 am). Outside of the fruit, everything else on the menu was lunch appropriate. Also, they call themselves providing complimentary coffee, but the cups provided were dixie cups. 😐It just made me wonder if the food service is so bad, what about the rest of the spa? Is it as clean as I think it is? I could have gotten sick if I had eaten that fruit, and QC should be ashamed for selling that to its customers. Visiting this spa isnt cheap. The least they can do is to provide fresh fruit and at least check their supplies for freshness.
The wellness path has sensory experiences such as music, scents, snacks, picture books, hanging basket chairs, huge ground cushions, goop, a mural to make you feel inverted. This is indistinguishable from how a children’s museum is built to activate and stimulate a toddlers senses to facilitate brain development. There’s a metaphor somewhere. You can put your head under the water and hear classical music. Former military barracks, 2 buildings facing the pools have spooky windows, varying amounts of torn off tint or blind. I went alone. I don’t remember feeling emotion. I don’t know how real this place is
I recently had the pleasure of visiting QC Spa New York, and I’m delighted to share what a fantastic experience it was, thanks in large part to their outstanding customer service. As a pumping mom, I had specific needs and concerns, and the staff at QC Spa went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable and had everything I required. Their attention to detail and willingness to assist was truly appreciated. The spa itself is a haven of relaxation. The ambiance is absolutely divine—theres a soothing scent that permeates the space, contributing to the overall sense of calm and tranquility. It’s clear that a lot of thought has gone into creating a serene environment. While the food options were somewhat basic and a bit overpriced, the exceptional service and the overall spa experience more than made up for it. I left feeling completely relaxed and rejuvenated, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit. QC Spa New York excels in providing a top-notch, peaceful retreat, and their customer service is second to none.
Views are 5 star… everything else leaves something to be desired.Compared to the other day spas are very been to at the same price point the facilities were lacking. My number one complaint is the pools were not warm enough for the weather. I felt chilly while in the pool. There are also no hot tubs on the premise. The showers and locker room also left something to be desired but were clean.Overall I would not come back. But had a good time. Glad I didn’t pay full price.
Husband and I had a great time. We could have stayed til 11pm if we wanted. The facilities are clean and the ferry is a breeze to get to. We went on a Sunday at 1230. Try to get there early because the line is usually long then they must process you. The locker rooms have Dyson hair dryers but they dont all work. They have nice showers and they give you a bag which can store your clean towels and robe etc. The pool was great. Heated nicely. The steam room and saunas were great too. All in all great views and experience. But you can drink by the pool. Which suckUpdate :: may 2024, theyre doing construction but its fine. Doesnt interfere with the actual spa experience. James, at the bar was awesome honestly. Great drinks. $20 with tax tho but hey is what it is. The food menu needs a major upgrade esp snacks. Dont come here hungry!
Such an amazing experience! Perfect for special celebration. The vibe is serene and the views are incredible. Food is very pricey, very small but good none the less. Drinks are delicious but pricey. Go for a full day there is just so much to do. So many different saunas, steam rooms jacuzzis etc. A great part of the experience is they add scrubs for your face and body to do in the different sauna’s/steam rooms so you really have a lot to do. The different rooms are just so cool and all have different essential oil scents. Outside of one sauna they have cool temperature towels that are scented to wipe off the face scrub and just add the extra touch of luxury. I loved the foot and leg scrub room. Bring a good book and sit in the mirror room on a cold day then jump into the jacuzzi pools, or on a warm day lay by the pool and enjoy lower manhattan shine. Sunset is gorgeous you don’t see the sunset here this time of year but the colors are gorgeous(not sure in other seasons where the sun sets). The people who work there are very nice and helpful. A secret from one girl to the next human is don’t forget to ask for a free face mask from the employees :)! Have fun!
QC NY Spa is a spa on the northern part of Governors Island overlooking the financial district. You buy packages for time and massages are extra, but they have multiple floors of different experiences. You start by getting ready in a locker room where you can store your stuff, then make your way through the amenities. They have almost 10 different sauna style experiences, as well as an aquatic level with a few water related experiences. Outside are heated pools with underwater music or massage chairs with great views of the city. The staff here are incredible, super nice and helpful. There are towels, scrubs, and directions scattered everywhere. They have food and drinks downstairs which are priced a bit high for the portion sizes, but things like the tiramasu are delicious. You can bring your phone around or even a book to read and relax, although I recommend leaving them behind while on the bottom aquatic level as its very wet and steamy.Overall a great experience and the views from the pool alone are worth the money. Would definitely go again in the future.
My experience at this spa was exceptionally comfortable and relaxing. I was delighted with the attention and kindness of the staff, who were attentive to every detail. The ambiance is excellent, which contributed to a truly relaxing experience. I highly recommend this place for those seeking an oasis of tranquility and personal care.
I loved my time at QC. I went on a rainy, cold day so it wasnt very crowded. Although we couldnt lounge outside, we had a lovely time in the heated pool and using the foot baths, saunas. We added on a massage which was well worth it. Also there are extra included snacks like dried fruit and cookies with the massage. Its good to know if you need a nibble as the food and drink prices are quite high. I had the chicken curry wrap which was good, but not fantastic. For the views from the pool and the overall vibe it felt worth it and like a special day. I cant speak to a crowded day there and what that would be like but we really enjoyed it!
Very nice. But if you want more of a place that has really hot pools, hot sauna rooms, and strong pressurized jets… this is not the place. It’s extremely photogenic and luxe… it’s beautiful. Gorgeous. But it really ends there. If you want pretty pictures go here 📸 if you want something better go to Sojo.
I went on an evening for sunset with a friend in late spring. It was beautiful and there was space on the lawn chairs to relax. The front desk agents are not the friendliest, but I their uniforms remind me of Samantha the American Girl doll and that makes me smile. The locker rooms are spacious enough to get ready to go out. The line for food/drink gets lengthy. Do not recommend to come here in the summer if you’re looking for a pool to cool off- the water stays quite warm, not refreshing, but perfect temperature when it’s a little cooler. Do not wait until the end of closing to shower/get ready to go- there were lines for the showers in the Women’s locker room. You get a robe, and sandals to wear, and a tote you can carry around and even take home. The mint water was strangely green, apples were available, the food was good. The attendants outside were very nice- you’re not allowed to bring your drinks in the water or by the water. There were more people than I would like in the pools, and most of them were on their phones, but we still had space.
Room for improvement.Overall I had good time in this spa, but there is few things I want you to know about before you go.Layout is very weird, we didn’t find relaxation rooms. I think it would be nice to put a map somewhere.Bathrooms are only in changing rooms, which are on 3rd floor, so every time you want to pee, you need to walk all the way back (or maybe there is more bathrooms, but we couldn’t find it because of layout).Facility is not brand new, there is some sauna doors that don’t shut all the way, or some scary sealing in Vichy shower room.I was there today on May 31 and there is construction work going around the spa. It was quiet, but it’s definitely changing the view.Food is quite expensive - 24$, and basically it’s all premade dishes. Nothing is warm, even salmon on a salad is cold. There is completely waters, tea and coffee, but cups look like shot glasses. It’s tiny! So if you have reusable cup - bring it with you. I don’t understand why cups are so small, you have to go back and forward all the time to get a drink and you constantly throwing out this cups (so it doesn’t serve neither people or planet).Oh and flip flops are not comfiest, so if you picky about your shoes - bring your own.Besides that, I really enjoyed my day. Steam rooms are great, pools are very cool - beautiful view and a lot of different massagers. Complementary face mask and body scrub. In changing rooms there is Dyson hairdryers, body lotions and face creams.Relaxing atmosphere and nice service (at least we didn’t have any issues).Oh and birthday promotion is really weird. You can use it Only 7 days After your birthday and Only weekdays. I visited spa 1 day prior my birthday and I asked prior if I can use this promotion since I’m leaving to other state right after my birthday. And they said no. When I arrived to spa they noticed that I have my birthday tomorrow, they said Happy early birthday and that’s it. It’s sad that they so strict and can’t offer even 15% off or dessert or something like this. Most businesses offer discounts through whole birthday month, or birthday week including weekends, or a week prior and week after. But here is super strict, so I guess people don’t use it often.
Even though we live in Philly my husband and I have visited this spa a few times in the last year. It is a great spa and super relaxing! We love to come there for the whole day. I will say that the price of food and drinks is much more expensive than you would expect. It seems to be higher quality and is definitely tasty! Drinks are also delicious.Their massages are out of this world as well. I almost fell asleep from how relaxing it was.If you do not want to spend much money for food I would recommend bringing your own.Would highly recommend this spa.
I recently had the pleasure of visiting this spa,and let me tell you, it exceeded all expectations! Not only did this serene oasis offer breathtaking views of the city, but it also boasted something truly special – heated pools that took relaxation to a whole new level. However, I must mention that the food menu at the spa is on the pricier side and the options could be better. Despite this minor setback, my overall experience was nothing short of extraordinary. The tranquil atmosphere, coupled with the stunning views and relaxing amenities, made for a truly memorable visit.
My boyfriend booked us a spa day for my birthday (check birthday offer) and after reading some reviews on here I was a bit sceptical.Luckily, the weather was great and we had a beautiful day! Staff was amazing, the whole place was clean and smelled great.Pros:-Complementary bathrobe, flip flops and towels-Big complex so it didn’t feel crowded-Complementary water, tea, coffee, apples-Very warm water in outside pools (huge plus!)-Several different ‘rooms’ to explore, from saunas to relax rooms and everything in between-Lounge chairs facing Battery park and Fidi for amazing views-Complementary face and body lotions, as well as shampoos, conditioners and shower gels (not my favourite, next time I’m bringing my own)Cons:-I can’t think of one.
A bit gimmicky with rooms designed clearly for instagram shots but overall worth a fun trip to the island for great city views. Came here after the marathon and did the post 5pm special which I think is the best time to go with the city lit up. Got a decent 25 min massage. Didn’t have a bathing suit but purchased a fairly priced $16 set. Had drinks and did lots of pool time, fireplace room time, and sauna time.
Hop the ferry for a 10 minute ride and walk another 10 to get to this lovely spa with phenomenal views. The outdoor pools and luxurious and there are plenty of places to lounge and relax. Plenty of spots to hang your things, towels and robes. Changing areas and showers felt comfortable and well kept, Dyson hair blowers and enough room for a well attended spa in the city. The spa is modeled on the Italian spa experience, in which you wander and explore to find something new to experience. I loved that idea, but you might miss a few things. We found a hidden pool at the end of our 3 hour session and we’re thrilled. We cannot wait to return. It was money well spent.
I visited the spa with my girlfriends on a Friday. The ferry was a quick ride from Manhattan city to the Governors Island. We arrived 12:30pm at the spa, the check-in was very easy, staff was very helpful and friendly. The grounds around the spa and all the 15 different rooms were lovely and there were plenty of places to relax and read books all day long. Upon our arrival we decided to use the outdoor areas in the afternoon when the weather would be cooler, but then it rained in the afternoon and the indoor rooms became packed. We ended up only being able to use the outdoor area by the swimming pool around 7pm. We had a magical moment overlooking a beautiful sunset with stunning views of Manhattan! But I would suggest going Monday through Thursday, since weekends seem very busy.I had booked a massage at 4pm and I was 15 minutes late. I was very glad the staff called me because I had my earplugs listening to a podcast and completely forgot the world around me.The one negative was my massage. The masseuse assigned to me was very friendly and made me feel comfortable, but the massage was not what I expected. I asked her to increase the pressure but she hardly increased it. The massage was very pricey, so no massage for me next time.We left the spa at 10:30pm, feeling pampered and relaxed. It was a great way to spend my day, and Ill definitely have to return to enjoy the other rooms Ive missed and the outdoor areas as well. I would highly recommend the spa!
Visited QC Spa for part of a girls weekend in late July. It was so easy to get to, very clean and just a wonderful experience! We didnt get any of the add-on experiences but lounged by and in the pools, and tried the wet and dry saunas. There were a few times where we had to wait for certain things such as the footbath but people were courteous and was never a long wait. I would definitely visit again with friends or as a romantic getaway.
QC Spa is a beautiful location for a spa day close to the city.+ The views are unbeatable, the reception personnel incredibly welcoming, they have a lot of different rooms with different flavored waters, and despite being almost booked out, it did not feel crowded.- However, there is so much more potential. The food is mediocre at best and the drink selection not great (no fresh juices, smoothies or fruity cocktails). A lot of the staff within the facility seems rather detached and not super welcoming. They have different saunas/ steam rooms with different scents, but unfortunately, in most of them we barely smelled anything. If food and drinks were better and freshly made, we’d love to make this a more regular daily escape, but as is, we would only go for a few hours and have food before/ after somewhere else.
QC NY SPA‘WHERE THE CITY GOES TO BE STRESSED AND WASTE THEIR TIME AND MONEY’I don’t know where to start with how awful and stressful of an experience QC NY Spa was. My partner booked our tickets for my August birthday under their two for one birthday promotion which is on their website. As you’ve read through the dozens of reviews here, they have set up this promo in a bait and switch fashion so that you end up paying for two full price tickets when you arrive at the check in desk, and their August birthday promotion does not apply to birthdays in August. Whoever is in charge of this company is untrustworthy and their dishonesty will not help them succeed. All that glitters is not gold. Continuing…You’re paying for the beautiful views of NYC, every single other thing about QC NY SPA is cheap and gimmicky. Cheap feeling/smelling lotions and shampoos. Overly sweetened apple juice that’s served in one room (one of the four places to find something to drink here), the teeny tiny cubes of watermelon that are served. Overcrowded and each person is overpaying by so much in comparison to what this place is offering. It almost comes to a point where you have to fight your way to get a spot in a sauna room or wet room. Furthermore, the people who are guests here should not be able to scream and shout at the top of their lungs in a SPA setting. Like why doesn’t the management speak to guests about maintaining a low voice level? We spent five hours there and it seems like I’m every single room or corridor there was a huge group of screaming and yelling young women. How is that aiding in relaxation?I could go on and on. Please avoid this place at all costs, it’s a bad and stressful place and a huge waste of money. I hated my time here so much.‘It’s always a bad moment when you spa with QC NY’
Have visited twice and my last visit was handled so poorly I can’t imagine returning. There was a power outage on the island due to a construction issue, about 30 min into arriving at the spa. We were given no updates on what was happening but all the power was out, saunas and steam rooms not working, none of the jets etc. couldn’t even ring up drinks or meals. After about 2 hours of milling around waiting for an answer they start kicking everyone out. Since the power was out, all the showers were freezing, I couldn’t dry my hair, it was the opposite of relaxing. I asked if I could reschedule my visit (the rates are steep and I made a specific trip for this from out of state) and I was told to email them, and they refused to give any further answers. I emailed them immediately after, no response. Called them the following morning, nobody picked up. Emailed them 3x with all my information again over the course of the week. Messaged them on social media and no response. I understand this was a situation out of their control but they should be able to comp or allow for a voucher for people whose visit was affected. Non-existent customer service at this price point is really not acceptable.
This was one the better spas I’ve been to in the city. I purposely went on a weekday so it wouldn’t be too crowded and it wasn’t. I loved all the different sauna rooms with different themes. The pools were all great and being able to see nyc skyline is phenomenal. The service was really great and the food at the spa was so good too. A wonderful and relaxing way to spend your day!
I came here for my birthday and I’m so happy I chose QC. On a weekday, the spa was so relaxing from approximately 10am when I arrived through about 1pm when it started to get busier. I’ll start with the pros, and then move to some areas of improvement:Pros:loved all of the different saunas and the description of each. Some of them had scrubs/face masks to apply during your time in there, and each room had their own completely different vibe. The outdoor sound bath was such a relaxing experience, I could have floated in that pool listening to classical music for hours.People working there were also incredibly nice and so helpful. Also, since I went on my birthday they had a little surprise gift waiting for me at the front!Highly recommend treating yourself to the $4 aperitivo tray at the bistro. Also important to note, they provide flip flops, endless towns, and a good sized robe.Areas of improvement:At first I was so impressed to see dyson hair dryers all throughout the changing room, but half of them were busted/not working. I did let the front staff know but really surprising that this place hasn’t been opened for long and so many of them had issues. On the same topic of the bathroom, there was nowhere to hang my towel physically in the shower with me. If I wanted to hang my towel I would half to walk naked through the other showers to grab it. The curtain for the shower also didn’t fully close so anyone walking by could see in.I was so excited to try the foot bath station, but every single one of them did not have the pumps working to dispense the product that was supposed to go into the bath. While laying in the Vichy showers, any time someone else started or ended theirs, it would impact mine to change pressure/temp.For food, there really aren’t many options that aren’t $24. As I mentioned above, I did get the aperitivo tray, but I also got a salad which just wasn’t necessary. There really needs to be water offered in more places than just by the bistro and reception. With so many saunas, it really should be offered on each floor/experience.As mentioned in other reviews, the check in experience can be stressful. With only one person at check in, you can be waiting for about a half hour unless you’re one of the first ones in from the ferry. I’m so thankful I hustled my way over there to beat the rush!I definitely will be back, but only during a weekday. Really hoping they read their reviews and address some of the issues!
Went here with a friend and I think the experience is worth the money IF you get one or the hourly tickets. I purchased the 5 hour ticket and spent perhaps 3.5 hours in the spa total (you can only be so relaxed).Getting there was very easy with the ferry ride and because we went on a holiday (and a rainy/windy day) it wasn’t so crowded. The spa has a lot of rooms to offer something for everyone. The saunas were overall quite standard, the steam rooms were great as well so long as you go in after people who smell decent to start with. Most of the interactions I had with the fellow spa goers were also quite wholesome. The only minor critique I would make is for the outdoor pool to have a hotter temperature. The water was personally too lukewarm for me.I didn’t indulge in the food or any paid beverage because the free water and apple cider were actually quite enough for me in terms of refreshment.I’m not a huge spa person to be fair but I think the ambiance is quite relaxing and the experience itself was worth getting out of my home for.
Good and clean facilities, nice view of Manhattan, and relatively easy to reach. Several different sauna rooms, but very small. The outdoor pools are small and shallow. I went on a weekday in the afternoon and it was pretty busy. I liked that they only allow adults. The bathroom lacked combs, shavers, and other amenities that are standard in other spas below this price point.
I’m giving the spa 4/5 stars on the overall experience and 5/5 stars on the VIP experience. 4/5 for overall because navigating the actual building to get to the different wellness rooms is a bit confusing. Also I believe it would be helpful for guests if they had signs in the outdoor area if common areas versus designated areas that are reserved, such as the cabana area. I recommend getting the all day pass VIP pass as well as paying for the cabana if you decide to go in the summer time, otherwise you would not be getting the most of the spa experience.
Great Spa! Overall, it feels like a great escape from the hustle and hustle of NYC.Weather in Jan: Ive been to this spa twice in January. The first day and towards the tail end of the month. Sure, its a little cold when you step in and out of the pool for a few seconds but overall its a great spa. There are multiple rooms to explore inside. Id say 3 hours is more than enough but if you really want to take your sweet time and nap or read or do the services, go for 5 hours.Complaint: My only complaint about this place is that some things are overpriced. The food, drinks and services are too much but thats just my opinion. And because you cant bring outside food, make sure to either pay a lot for so-so food or just eat before.
Truly enjoyed our visit here!Easily make a ferry reservation which is included in your spa booking. 2 minute walk to spa from ferry. Warmly greeted by friendly and upbeat staff. You are given a locker key and have the option to have a wristband that you can pay for food and drinks with.Take the elevator to the second floor to the locker rooms which are clean and highly looked after. You are given a hooded robe (no pockets) a towel, and sandals in a cute little bag. 100% Presentation aesthetic. You have many options as far as amenities with your day/night pass. We started outside-and loved it. The views are obviously the main focus. You are unable to have any food and drink in or on the pool deck area. (Many people were quite upset at this, but lifeguards enforced it for safety)We then went into the dry saunas that also had views of the city skyline. We made a pit stop by the little cafe. There are several offerings of drinks and snacks, but we really enjoyed the mint water. We then headed down to the basement where there were foot baths, botanical steam saunas, showers, and scrubs. We quickly realized this is where we should have started! We then ended our experience showering, making use of the Dyson blow dryers, and all the complimentary lotions. The only thing we didn’t care for was the shampoo and conditioner- but know to bring our own next time. This is a great location for a ladies day, couples, or self care. Highly recommend, well with the price! Looking forward to returning and booking a massage into my next visit.
I recently visited QC and had a delightful experience overall. The staff at the spa were exceptionally polite and attentive throughout my visit. The facility itself was very clean, and I even noticed numerous staff members actively cleaning the facility during my 5-hour stay, which was impressive. Some pro tips- the spa only provides two towels, additional towels must be purchased. I recommend bringing your own towel for the pool and a water bottle to stay hydrated. The flip flops provided by the spa were a bit uncomfortable for me, so I also suggest bringing your own skid-proof sandals for added comfort.Although there was no map of the facilities, exploring the different floors and discovering the various rooms was part of the fun. The wet rooms were located on the pool level, while the saunas and relaxation rooms were on the upper floors.I enjoyed a salmon salad and a cocktail by the pool, which were fine. I was also pleasantly surprised to see desserts on the menu from one of my favorite places, Santa Chiara in Long Island City. A special shoutout to Paul, who went above and beyond to assist me and other guests. His helpfulness and politeness were truly commendable, and it was clear that he worked tirelessly throughout my visit. The front desk check-in staff also deserve five stars for their exceptional service at check-in, smiles go a long way!I recommend visiting the spa early in the day, taking the time to relax in the baths and enjoying the beautiful views. Overall, my experience at the spa was wonderful, and I look forward to returning in the future.
This spa has a great concept—a serene day spa just over the water from NYC—but execution is lacking. The online reservation system is wonky (I received a spa day as a birthday present but because the system insists on the name of all guests and has no gift option, I got the notification of the reservation, and the cost, days before my birthday; we were told to avoid this, use a dummy email address). The ferry system is sporadic if youre coming from Brooklyn on a weekday, something thats not entirely clear on the site. The sandals you are required to wear hurt and you can go barefoot except that there was no sign of any cleaners there, including on the Vichy slab showers or foot baths (ick). There were a lot of saunas but no cold plunge areas. The food was limited and not great tasting. Coveted pool loungers were all gone by the time we arrived. The promised snacks turned out be apples.BUT: The service was great; the staff are lovely and the views are incredible and Governors Island is magical. It was worth it to go for the two-for-one birthday special but otherwise, Id do Spa Castle for all the baths and saunas skin treatments and Great Jones if I want a more upscale massage and a few hours in the pools.
I recently visited QC Spa on Governors Island and I have to say, it was a wonderful experience. I would definitely give this spa a 4-star rating. The highlight of the experience for me were the saunas - they were especially great! The heat and steam were just what I needed to help me unwind and relax. To add to my relaxing experience, I was served a refreshing Aperol spritz while I lounged on the outdoor terrace. It was the perfect complement to the saunas and really helped me feel refreshed. The staff at QC Spa were also incredibly friendly and accommodating. They made sure that I felt comfortable throughout my visit and were happy to answer any questions that I had about the facilities or services.Overall, I had a wonderful experience at QC Spa on Governors Island. I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a great day of relaxation and rejuvenation.
Wanted to echo the other reviews - Do not come here if you’re looking for a relaxing time at a “spa”.- There are no staff around to maintain a peaceful and quiet setting so the noise levels become absurd. This includes the inside of the steam rooms and saunas.- On a nice day, you’ll be lucky to find anywhere to sit outside as they have a serious lack of chairs and loungers. Rather than enjoying the pool, you’ll spend a decent amount of time standing around waiting for someone to leave in order to get their seat.- As people have mentioned in other reviews, the pool is the loudest place in the property, with people playing music and yelling. The staff there do nothing to quiet this down.-There is no cold water to submerse your body anywhere on the property - everything (including the pool) is hot. If you think you’re going to jump in the pool post-sauna to cool down, think again.-If you’re looking for the nice view of the Manhattan skyline, do yourself a favour and save the hundreds of dollars. Spend on the $4 ferry ticket and take pictures from the walking path on the island.
Great view of the skyline but the actual place is definitely not trying. The place is in a bad space for a spa. Super confusing build layout that gets you lost multiple times. The stairwells and elevators are industrial from the prior space so takes you out of the spa vibe. We got the charcuterie board and all the food came out in dixie cups so 0/5 on presentation. The pool areas are really great and really the only reason to go. We went for a night as a couple with one having a birthday. The birthday should have been free but they said my birthday wasnt eligible today but I could come any other day of the month. Since we already took the ferry over we paid the full price. If you go using some kind of deal then the pools are worth it but if you are paying full ticket price the space and effort isnt worth it.
QC NY was a good vibe. The ferry to get there is quick and easy to get a ticket. They include a link to get your free ticket in the confirmation email after your spa entry purchase. Upon arrival, you check in, sign the waiver, then are given your locker key and the option to get a wristband to charge purchases to.The locker has a bag with your robe and slippers inside. The bathrooms were very clean and spacious. The 2 pools were nice & warm. They have a beautiful view of the water. We also enjoyed the saunas, steam rooms, foot bath, and more. It would have been nice to have a map of the facility as we didn’t know where everything was; we just stumbled upon them. The food was definitely overpriced, but decent. We had the chicken salad. The food is very healthy. The drinks were VERY strong. We had margaritas and they used don Julio.I would definitely return to experience more of the amenities.
Myself, siblings and some friends went here in February. During the week their prices are lower we went on a Wednesday. The ferry is about a 8min ride and a short walk from the train stations. They have so many rooms to relax in, saunas and other free things you can try. With just the entrance fee. The drinks and food are city prices. Which means about $18-$20 for a drink and about the same for food also. The sunset was beautiful and it is also cheaper if you go at that time. I loved it. I am going back next week.
Booked to go on my boyfriends birthday. We get there by the quick 5 minute Ferry. Upon arrival we check in and go to our lockers. The lockers provide a robe, towel, flip flops, and a tote bag. We had access to all the saunas, pools, and relaxation rooms. 2 of the saunas has NYC theme wallpaper that was a nice touch. When we go outside we have access to the lounge chairs and went inside the pool with the massage chairs in them. We ordered the Aperol spritz which were really refreshing. We then ordered food in the cafe. We had the salmon salad and chicken salad. Both were pretty good. There is also a gelato cart. I would definitely recommend it but definitely use a birthday package for when you go.
This was an incredible spa experience. We traveled to QCNY from Williamsburg for my birthday and the journey was straight forward and very simple. We booked the earlier morning time slot and started our day at 10 am. The amenities were fantastic and I felt at peace the second we arrived. It’s a nice touch that you can link up your card to a bracelet for easy purchasing throughout your time there. We loved the lawn, where we soaked up the rays & beautiful view. I am very impressed with the staff at QCNY, they were attentive and very kind. They all seemed to go above and beyond to help customers. They don’t have iced coffee on the menu but the woman behind the counter made it happen for us ⭐️We stopped at the cafe and got a tuna wrap and cheese board. The food was a bit overpriced but I went into it kinda expecting that 🤷🏼♀️My favorite part of the spa was the aqua level, the one thousand and one nights steam room was INCREDIBLE. I have already told all of my friends about this experience and we started planning our next trip before we even left.My only regret was only doing 3 hours and not the whole day. Book your trip now 🤩
A relaxing spa experience in the harbor of NYC. You can check in for different lengths of visits, 3-hr, 5-hr, or unlimited. The spa is spread through two different buildings and it’s easy to get lost. Meander through the various environments - scented steams, Vichy shower, and other “wet” room are on the lower level. There are “dry” environments on the Wellness Path to 3rd floor. While going between the floors, leaving phones in our assigned lockers, we took dips in the heated outdoor pool. Such a treat to take in the amazing view of downtown skyline and have a cocktail or snack. The calm is regularly broken by the sound of harbor traffic and helicopters… so many helicopters. But still, we’re New Yorkers, noise is part of our DNA.
QC NY SPA is my last resort when it comes to spas it’s located on governors island which is so cool as for the price for the spa for 5 hours it’s about $100-up depending on the day and time you choose! Me personally , your just paying for the viewsIt’s a year round outdoor spa . The pools are heated and in the winter they have these cute little heated cabins that have day beds a fire place also looking over the water .you can purchase lite snacks and alcoholic drinks. There are rooms to relax in on the inside, there are also massage packages and a few saunas also overlooking the water with an amazing view. Perfect place for a summer day or night out!!! And it’s smells so good soon as you check in so relaxing oooo and when u open your locker there is a welcome bag with a robe in it . Lock room is soooo nice and clean and comfortable to be in .
Worth all of the hype. The steam room? The Vichy showers? The underwater pool music? Leave your phone in the lockers, put your card on your wristband, and try everything. You have nothing to lose. You can also wait until it’s someone’s birthday to take advantage of the buy one, get one free offer for two people!
The general spa area was fine, you got what you paid for. The massages were terrible considering what we were paying, you’re hearing all the outside noises and they barely “massaged” us at all, regardless of it being a light tissue massage or not. Made a complaint and they just apologized and did nothing.Edit: They replied with a copy and paste response and offered no reimbursements.
I have mixed feelings about this place. Getting to Governor’s island was easy. The grounds and the views are quite beautiful, but it really wasn’t the experience we were expecting. If it’s your first visit, the staff checking you in should explain what’s available on each floor. While the changing rooms are nice enough, the lockers are very sensitive and you might have to fight with it to lock. Some of the spaces felt quite gimmicky. Like, do we really need a room that is just wallpaper pasted upside down? No…. Give us bigger saunas. Also, if you’re expecting a relaxing experience, don’t go. The water related spaces are overcrowded and loud. This feels more like an expensive public bath house than a relaxing spa.
Visited this spa for a birthday so got half off. Price for full day with 25 min massage was $289 with tax and tip.First here are the parts that exceeded my expectations.1. There are lots of citrus and mint water stations throughout the spa nice touch.2. There are two outdoor pools which are very clean3. 4 or 5 dry saunas with different themes.4 very few rules like other spas its rather laid back. Just no sandals or drinks in dry sauna.4 I really enjoyed the scrub and wet sauna it was a nice touch but you need to figure out the routine and order yourself. Here is where I was disappointed esp at a price point of $125 to $160 per person.1 poor first impressions. The first thing you are hit with upon arrival is a legal document and a long line.. Since everybody has to arrive via ferry, there’s literally a boatload of people arriving at the same time, but there was only one person or two people at the check-in to get everyone settled in, take payment, etc. The wait was about 20 min. They should use this check in time better. Provide a run down of the facility maybe a map. No one really explained how best to use the spa and this would be the perfect time to do so.Also the spa for a Thursday was pretty crowded. I feel like it was over crowded so dont expect a semi private experience because your on govoners island.2. Everyone wants to eat at once and there was only one cafe open. So there was a really long line for food. One salad and 2 drinks was $61 so expect to pay four star restaurants prices for avg spa food.3. There are not enough chairs for everyone at the pool. After noon there were well over 50 people in the pool and only about 20 chairs. So if you want to eat outside or sit by the pool you cant. Also there are no umbrellas or any shade from the sun. I got totally sunburnt. This is probably by design to prevent people from staying long.4 the mens area has only 2 toilets and no extras. When you arrive you most likely have to use the restroom and since 10 other guys also have to use it you need to wait for one to open up. Wish there were more than 2 toilets in the entire spa and twish they had basics like qtips and tissues. I expect qtips for $125 price point.
To be completely honest the best part of this was the ferry ride and the view of the skyline. I felt zero relaxation as there was zero type of guidance on how to get around the spa, reaching the locker room was chaotic the only time I saw employees was to check in and make purchases at the bar that’s btw very limited with drinks starting at $18 for what you may as well call juice. Everyone seemed lost. The facilities where however very clean but I felt like I was at the gym without knowing what any of the machines where for as there was no instructions and everything was very unclear I spent most of the time lost and looking for activities the best part is by far the outside heated pool
Massage was mediocre, directions were atrocious, everything was overcrowded even on a Monday. Felt more like a pool at a casino resort than a spa. Bars were backed up, service was slow and employees were vocal about their disdain for the visitors. Amenities were lacking in every regard. If you want a view of the city that’s nice, but if you want shade try and get one of the few bungalows that don’t have broken pieces that don’t even allow for shade, but if you aren’t there early good luck. Not worth the money whatsoever. Do not go.
Great relaxing experience!!! Wonderful service. Super nice ambience. The masseuse was spot on! Its the perfect getaway from NYC at a reasonable price. Book it in advance and preferably in the morning - I got super lucky and was able to get in as I got there, but when I was coming out the line was extremely long and no walk-ins. A Hidden Gem
While there is so much potential for QC, there was consistently things that were disappointing and not the caliber you would expect.starting with the check-in process- it was a mess. I’m not sure why they didn’t have us didn’t just sign all the forms prior to coming. it felt like a waste of time, and they told us that if we get our robes wet, we would be charged $5. then at the end, we realized that this wasn’t true. I was bewildered that staff would be trained to say that…the signs are AWFUL… like you never know where you’re going and we had to ask people like 5 different times where the infrared room was. it was like a maze in like the backrooms of someone’s dream. The saunas and various rooms were nice and there was a lot of variations. I do think the temperature of the saunas were not hot enough personally, but also the temperature of the rooms were basically all the same. They should have saunas of various hotness for people who want hotter vs. cooler. Also, the worst part was the mud that was trekked into the bottom floor from outdoors, because people wore the same slippers through the grass into the saunas/steam rooms.the food situation was also rough… there was basically no options and no one really wants to eat a sandwich on a spa day. i think they should have lighter fare like smoothies, acai bowls, soup, and maybe a board with spreads/dips.
The reviews were very confusing so I was reluctant to visit this spa. I am so glad I came to see what an amazing place this is for myself. From the moment I arrived, I fell in love. I legit felt like I travelled to another country. A cute getaway vibe was exactly what I needed. I commend this spa for the aromatherapy. It smelled so good!!! Infused water containers were conveniently placed through out the spa and small snacks. The only con was I needed to be there longer but I couldn’t. I came on a holiday so the closing hours were advertised as 6pm with a 7pm ferry but they start wrapping you up at 5:20pm to catch the 6pm ferry so please be aware of that.Other than that the massage was amazing. I love the robe, towels, and slippers provided. You can get a larger size when requested. It literally gave hotel vibes especially with the relaxation rooms. I also encourage coming here on a non busy day. It was so empty that I felt like I had a private mansion to myself.I have nothing but great things to say about this spa. Im sad I didn’t give this place a chance sooner but I will definitely be back to spend more money! It is pricey but its also a small vacation away from the city. I think its worth every dime!!!
Do not waste your time and money! Unpleasant time at the spa. Power went out 20 minutes after we arrived, got stuck in the elevator for a while and did not get a refund even though all of this happened and we did not get to use any of the amenities, in fact not even an answer from them. Never going back, also it is really full, not relaxing as there are many noises by the pool and you are lucky if you find a spot, also costumer service not great or as expected. There are many other spas better quality for what you pay.Do not recommend.
The spa is nice, but there’s definitely room for improvement. First of all: the wait when you arrive. Since everybody has to arrive via ferry, there’s literally a boatload of people arriving at the same time, but there was only one person at the check-in to get everyone settled in, take payment, etc. This is something that can be fixed easily if you just add additional staff there every time a ferry arrives. A 30-min wait to begin our spa day was not a great start to the experience. We also didn’t get a proper rundown about the facilities, and since signage is poor throughout the property, we didn’t even find all of the saunas (stumbled upon a couple by chance while we checked out the bistro!).The pools and relaxation rooms are very nice, and completely empty in the morning when we arrived. I recommend arriving early (and on a weekday) if you’re looking for tranquility - when we came back outside in the afternoon to relax by the pool, all the loungers were full. I can only imagine how busy weekends get.As for the bistro - I wish they’d have some smaller snacks on the menu.. I wasn’t hungry enough for any of the $24 meals but would’ve enjoyed a coffee & a croissant or a fruit salad.Another thing that can be improved easily: more drinking water. After a couple of sauna runs we were in need of some water but couldn’t find any around that area (we eventually found drinking water in the bistro and in one of the relaxation rooms).I’m listing all the things that can be improved in the hope of someone at QC reading this and make some adjustments, but I also want to say that overall the spa is definitely an enjoyable experience and I’d go back. It’s a great (and quick and easy!) escape from the city & I felt 100% recharged.
I was initially very excited about spending the afternoon at QC, but immediately upon entering, I was met with disappointment. It was not a calm spa-atmosphere by any means. It was hectic with crowds of people, not enough employees helping guests, and it wasnt clear where we should go and what we should do as first-timers. Each of the saunas/steam rooms were over-crowded with guests who didnt know how to follow spa-etiquette (loud talking & laughing, leaving sauna doors open, etc.). There also was no distinct difference between the different amenities.Overall, the facility is nice and it has great potential, but it was so over crowded, I felt like a lost puppy, and there wasnt enough staff to help guide guests.
I question the hygiene of this place. Opened my nicely folded towel and found this big green mold on it, also saw areas of yellow stain on my rope. Told the staff about it and got the most cold treatment, questioning me when I found the stains as if I was trying to scam them. They eventually gave me new towels and ropes but never an apology. Other than that, the view is good but some luxury apartment building’s rooftop pools can be better. Locker rooms are packed with people even on a cloudy/rainy day. QC Milan is my absolute favorite spa so I had my expectations high for this location. Unfortunately QC NY does not live up to its name.
DO NOT COME HERE. Absolute waste of money for overcrowded, poorly run, and shoddy facilities. If you buy a day or afternoon pass, you will NOT get a seat on the weekend unless you come right at opening. They have a VERY small number of cabanas/lounge seats that people camp out on starting early in the morning. The vast majority of seating consists of uncomfortable upright lawn chairs — and since they do not control capacity, you’ll have trouble getting one of those too. Worse, even if you manage to snag a seat, there is no guarantee you will keep it — if you leave for more than 15 minutes to use the pool or sauna, they have an informal policy (voiced to us by multiple staff members, including the onsite manager) that they will remove your items from your seating. And the pools themselves are uncomfortably (and disgustingly) crowded. The locker rooms are way too small for the number of people they let in, leaving an uncomfortably packed changing situation. (Truly elbow to elbow with naked strangers). The facilities do not feel luxurious at all, especially shocking given the high price tag.The customer service was also atrocious. I spent 25 minutes looking for a lounge seat before coming up empty, going to the front desk, and asking if I could simply leave and get my money back. They told me they do not do refunds and furthermore would not refund me because they “saw me using the facilities.” (The only thing I had done at this point was change into a swimsuit and wander around looking for a chair before giving up.) They told me my only option was to sit in an upright lawn chair in a separate area away from the pool with one comped drink after conning me out of nearly $200 — after I hauled myself all the way to Governors Island. This place is an absolute scam and such atrocious value for money. I recommend Aire, Bathhouse, or quite literally anywhere else before I recommend wasting your time or money here.
Well kept place, friendly professional staff at reception, and the views are beautiful like the photos.Only thing I can recommend is implementing a policy guests having to shower before the use of saunas. Some of the people smelt sour and rotten, can be very disturbing while enjoying the beautiful serene space.
A relaxed oasis in the largest natural harbor in the world. The outdoor pools are the real draw, the inside facilities are nice but not expansive. Food is good but $25+ for a sandwich, it’s easy to spend a ton of money if you’re there for the day. Love that they give you a bag to carry your things around in, pro-tip is to bring a granola bar or two, and a water bottle so you can fill up at the water stations.
Overall great saunas, steam rooms and pools. All very clean and well maintained, but the provided robes and sandals felt cheap and take away from the luxury. There are spaces where construction is not quite done, really transporting you out of the experience. You can’t beat the view. At the same time, the view comes w helicopters which are sometimes loud. It’s a solid spa with lots of options for relaxing rooms, abundant and very nice skin products and good snacks. If I were to do it again I would get the five hour pass, no massage and spend more time in the saunas and steam rooms.
I love my experience at QC NY SPA, I went there with my family had to take a ferry to get there which was completary after booking for my birthday and so was my entrance. The two other guest had to pay. We enjoyed a day of relaxation with a spectacular backdrop of Manhattan. As we registered we were gretted by this amazing aroma unique to the NySpa. I got complimentary creams it was my birthday gift. We headed to lockerooms and our experience began. All the rooms and delicately decorated there are attendant on each floor ready to help you or offer you water. Overall this is a hidden Oasis in the bustling or NY.
Fun and relaxing day out! Got the evening package on a summer weekday which was so worth it.I also did the massage which was relaxing but rather pricey and nothing very special. The maximum massage time is 50 mins. There are free snacks (dried fruits, nuts), cut watermelon and water easily available throughout the premises.
***The response to this review from the spa is irrelevant and refers to a different date then I attended, but further highlights other reasons not to give your business to this spa.**Had the most ridiculous experience on my bday. I show up on the day of my booking and find out their “servers are down” bc of flooding. Since they couldn’t do check-in or run the lockers, their solution was to turn everyone away. I understand things happen, but this isn’t like showing up to a dinner reservation. We can’t just pop in somewhere else. What made it ridiculous is they had full electricity, a working kitchen, a working credit card machine in the cafe, tons of staff milling about, internet access… There were SO many ways they could have pivoted and made it work, but there was no problem solving. The customer service was non-existent. They had one person on the front line dealing with all the backlash. Her blasé attitude about the situation was maddening. The rest of the staff was whispering all around in a clear panic and looked so foolish. There was no effort on anyone’s part, and I would not attempt to try this place again after seeing how they handle the most minor crisis.
Really nice amenities! My favorite was the Vichy showers. My Taurus friend said the place appealed to alllll the senses. Every room smelled incredible, which is a weird thing to say for a spa, but its true!We did the birthday special. Def worth it.Very clean. Friendly staff.Ferry was a few min. Free with admission. The pier is literally a two-minute walk from the Staten Island Ferry.
Went for the day on a Thursday for a bachelorette. It’s a gorgeous location and beautifully decorated, but it was BUSY and the place and space was crowded and it’s not designed for crowds like that. People were bumping into each other in the hallways and it was made worse because it got rainy so everyone was forced inside. Even when the rain subsided they wouldn’t let us back out to the pool and surrounding grounds, which was ridiculous as paying patrons, so eventually we didn’t listen and just went to the pool and did our thing and they were forced to go along. The spa and sauna rooms are very cute and boutique like, but get exhausted quick; especially while competing with other people. The pool and views are truly the draw. I’d go again, but not with a big group and only on a weekday, otherwise it’s not worth it as the point is to relax and I found the crowds negated that purpose. Got the 5hr deal but no massage bc I felt it was overpriced.
There is room for improvement, given the very high price.Overall a pleasant experience, but I have a hard time imagining this would be pleasant with larger crowds. We visited on a very quiet wintery day and the place was practically empty. The staff is very nice and helpful, and probably the highlight of the service. The views are what you expect, spectacular. The saunas are overall nice, but I can see them getting crowded fast as they are small. The relaxation rooms are pretty but gimmicky, gluing a chess board to the ceiling doesnt make it an upside-down room. The food is ridiculously expensive, and really nothing special, and since you are literally hostage in an island without any food options, you have no other choice than to pay 24 dollars for a deli wrap and chips. (No drink)Youll definitely spend more than 4 hours there, specially if crowded, so go straight for the $110 entrance fee. (With tax)Be sure to add $26 for food as you will have no other option. If you are in a budget, forget about massages, they are ridiculously expensive, around $100 for 25 minutes. Also it felt a bit unfair to pay full price given that we had no access to the pools.Overall, così-così
I really enjoyed the spa and views. They did a wonderful job of the rooms. My favorite was the underwater music tub. They found a way to relax yourself while utilizing all your senses. The one thing that was extremely frustrating was that they didn’t let me use my credit card that was working, and made me use a different card.
That was *PERFECT*I wanted to really treat myself for my birthday and this was it! I honestly vlogged the experience ( because it was just so relaxing, so wonderful, so much of what you should look for in a relaxation experience. I spent hours just enjoying every room, every amenity, and all of the views. Truly spectacular to be able to watch the sun set across the new york horizon while you soak in luxurious jets of warm water. Wonderful would be an understatement.
One of the best experiences in New York and definitely one of the best spa I’ve ever been to so far! It’s a dream spa with unbeatable views of the city! Price is decent, ferry was included and the amenities are above excellence!! It counts with different saunas, jacuzzis and hydrotherapy! After a few hours in there I was brand new! Can’t recommend it highly enough! There’s no doubt we will come back! : )
Elite and sophisticated Spa with an outstanding view of Manhattan Skyline. Saunas and Steam rooms were amazing as were drinks and complimentary snacks. Drinks were a bit on the pricey side, but is expected due to inflation and quality of Spa. Overall, great Spa as time seems to melt in this place. The only downside is keeping watch to catch the last Ferry off Governors Island. Definitely worth the go, but be prepared to spend money. loved it!!!😍
My friend took me here for my birthday for the first time. Admission on the gov island ferry is free with passes and a short walk from the dock. It was not a busy day so I got to experience it without it being packed. They have multiple pools and sauna and a BAR! I got a margarita and my friend got a Aperol Spritz - both delicious. Super relaxing and nice amenities with products that feel nice.
I was amazed by the pictures I saw on Instagram stories about this spa. When I went, it was on a rainy day so I didn’t get in the pool. Without the pool side, the spa isn’t great. The space and environment is more than claustrophobic. The lay out is terrible. They’ve got little tiny overcrowded rooms with too many people. The tiny “cafe” is a joke. You’ll probably have to sit on someone’s lap. Omg! It’s just not spacious enough. Who laid this out?? I was dying to leave the minute I got there but I was forced to stay cause I had a massage booked. It got boring real quick. And it’s so cumbersome to get there. Waiting on a ferry 🙄 The ferry station resembles a jail. The sandals tore my feet up too. I would say this is Somewhere between a Hampton Inn in and a subway. Put your money in your pocket and go to McDonalds.
Amazing time here at QC it was my first time going for my gfs birthday they have a great birthday promo. there’s so many things here that will leave you completely relaxed and zen that you’ll end up spending hours here without even realizing where the time went. the pools are heated and you have a amazing view of the city skyline. Drinks available there as well I’d visit again for sure
Spent the whole day there and enjoyed the facilities, just one downside. My husband gifted me a full day and a massage for Mother’s Day. He called in advance to make sure I could get a massage there even though I was pregnant. He was assured that it would be no problem so he booked it for me. When I arrived I was then told they had to cancel my massage because I was pregnant. Rough start to the day I was looking forward to, since I was craving that massage most of all and we picked this spa because I wanted that massage. Kind of feel like we were tricked into booking it or they need more qualified personnel answering calls.
J’adore QC Spa! The birthday month deal offer is genius - what better way to celebrate your NYC birthday than floating in the gorgeous pools, relaxing in sun loungers catching an island breeze, and enjoying City views as the Staten Island Ferry goes by?The steam rooms and saunas are extensive and excellent, the changing facilities clean and plentiful, and the staff nice and helpful. The ONLY thing missing is a cold plunge! NYers really need to chill out sometimes and that’s the perfect way to do it.Next time you need a cheeky holiday, head to QC.
It should be so much better, but the general experience wasnt great for the price. The sandals they provide were soooooo uncomfortable and were like the worst cheap flip flops ever made, old navy $.99 ones will seem like luxury items next to these. Other people definitely brought their own sandals and they didnt seem to have a policy against it but I wouldnt count on them not getting stolen if you take your eyes off of them. The changing rooms are also so cramped and they over crowd the whole facility. Definitely wear your suit there because getting changed there you will be dodging several other people. The showers were terrible, and so cheap, no private stalls, just free floating curtains that have been stuck on everyones bodies that showered before you because it is also the smallest shower space Ive ever seen. No one walks you through what the facility offers and if you sit outside you will have no idea what time it is and no safe places to put anything. We had to just sit and watch someone take my friends robe and towel because we were on the other side of the pool, and they will not give you an additional one. The only real draw is the incredible view, this was my first and likely last time here which is a shame because I REALLY wanted to love this place, but Ill definitely be returning back to ancient aire for a true luxury experience.
Basking in a warm pool while enjoying an Aperol Spritz while watching boats navigate NYC harbor only happens in one place. This is that place. If you need a day out of the city for a day of R&R QC is the spa for you.Locker rooms are clean and organized. There are many Saunas but only one steam room. The spa offers a host of other services but my experience was focused on sitting outside and enjoying the sun, pools and water Jets. I may have had a glass of wine or two.
Not a true spa experience. Pool area feels more like a hotel pool than an actual spa. Noisy people on their phones, playing music, watching tik tok videos. No staff controlling anything to make it a quiet environment. They need to cap the number of people. Far too crowded. Not enough lounge chairs around pool. The building is a labyrinth with terrible signage. People wandering around lost.Customer service is mediocre. I had a 75 minute massage scheduled which they rescheduled without notification.I paid $475 for the massage/tip and full day pass. Not terrible but the experience left me underwhelmed. The massage was decent. Will I return? Probably not.
Disappointing all around. Saunas are more or less all the same, steam rooms are all the same. It was overcrowded everywhere which made the experience very mediocre. Pool was nothing special but the view. They are also very understaffed so it’s confusing to understand where everything is located and customer service was poor. They need to rethink this concept again because right now this is just another fake instagram tourist trap spa. Don’t waste your time.
Incredibly poor experience. Cancelled a massage (scheduled months in advance) with 30 minute warning while already at spa. Attempted to charge my card twice for the massage. Refused to return tip for a massage that never occurred. 0/10 spa and experience, stay far away if you want a relaxing afternoon.
It’s on governors island. It’s an “escape” from the city. It’s cool. The grounds are well done and the experience is relaxing. 5 stars there. The service. It needs work. This is an anecdotal story but I think it will resonate and maybe provide helpful feedback for QC.The lady and I went for her birthday in August, since QC spa is famous for being free on one’s birthday. We, however, failed to read the fine print (our fault admittedly) which states the month of August is excluded. My lady was unfortunately born in August, so when we arrived for our reservation we were informed and told we would be charged full price. Being the frugal couple we (me) are, we decided against going in.QC did nothing but stand by the rules. Now, we completely accepted this fate and we are not bitter, rules are rules. But! We’re local and QC might have had repeat customers had they used discretion.Discretion is the key word here. To provide great service requires great discretion. This place, like many modern disconnected establishments, did not display either at the time of our presence.I have hope they will change for the better. Place is pretty cool you should check it out.
I knew this spa would be beautiful, but what was such a nice surprise is that is also has a lot of personality! The various saunas and experiences — which, by the way, were many more than I expected — all had themes that made the day fun. I wouldn’t say it has the pure, restful silence vibe of other spas, but I liked that it was a bit interactive and social. The pool alone with its view of the city is tough to beat. I enjoyed a lovely massage as well as some delicious food and drinks and was content to spend several hours there. Will most certainly return!
Beautiful spa with amazing outdoor space and great views. SO relaxing! food & drinks from the cafe are also really good. infrared room was closed for repair when we went but still plenty to do and see.
As a sauna/ bathhouse enthusiast, I was eager to enjoy the many rooms on offer at qc. My hopes were dashed upon realizing that all were kept at the same tepid temperatures. Given that there are so many sauna rooms, perhaps at least a few could meaningfully generate a sweat? They have the ability (strong enough heaters), they just seem unwilling to increase the heat. Absent that, the different rooms are little more than a collection of varied, schlocky gimmicks. Please turn up the heaters and add more stones.
I went here for my birthday. I really enjoyed the heated outdoor pool. Birthday person gets free admission with the purchase of a single day pass equaling a 2 for 1 deal. I also booked a couples massage, which was heavenly! I was almost asleep I was so relaxed. Tons of great spa rooms, two bars, and beautiful rooms. I will definitely be back.
View was phenomenal but can’t order anything after 5pm due to short staff :(No complimentary food as well.Didn’t have any indication on their website whatsoever smh.we came to relax, eat some snacks and def drink while enjoying the sunset. But that didn’t happen :(So we were starving since we came at 6:30pm til close time smh.Beware!!!!the windows some of the bathrooms and showers are slightly open like the mens from outside can see or peek if they want to and you can’t even close it like why?Didn’t see a single lotion in the women’s locker room but apparently there are in the mens with different scents.Asked the manager and complained about why there isn’t and we couldn’t order drinks or food he said there is when there isn’t so he can just avoid the situation.Update: it was 2stars before but now I updated to 4 stars since they gave a complimentary for next visit which was lovely! However, it doesn’t change the fact that we were starving while we was in there. Please indicate on the website so we know what to expect. But complimentary full day spa is better I guess lol.Lastly I loved all the scented shampoos and etc… they weren’t selling at the gift shop :(
Nice facilities, good skyline views, but the heated pools really werent relaxing in the middle of a heatwave.Ive been during the winter months and it was a wonderful getaway, but a hot pool in the summer months wasnt exactly a cooling, refreshing experience.
For the high price you would expect the experience to be a bit more luxurious. The food is especially subpar and the wine glasses had massive stains on them, the water stations were constantly empty, shoes not fitting, barely any amenities in the showers (no deodorant, face lotion, combs). It was also super hard to find seating outside by the pools (we went on a Sunday afternoon). They either need more seating or you should be able to reserve poolside seating with your reservation. It would be nice if you could order food/drink from your seat by the pool as well. The massage was good though!
2 stars bc it’s easy to get to from NYC but honestly this place is an overpriced joke. I went to enjoy a pool day with my husband. Not only was the pool HOT, and not only is there no cold plunge or any cold amenities for recovery and reprieve from the heat, but I had to beg/argue with the bartender for a glass to fill up water from the filtered water dispenser. (They only have these tiny little dentist cups available). First he lied and said he didn’t have any even though I saw him make to gigantic drinks for the women before me. Then he said the bigger glasses were for alcohol only. It was literally 95 degrees out and not having proper hydration is a health risk. He then said I would need to speak to the manager if I wanted an actual cup for water. (There was absolutely no way I was tracking down the manager on this sweltering day to beg for a water cup). So, finally, after a lengthy and aggravating discussion he finally gave me one with a major attitude. (He basically threw it at me and refused to give me one for my husband). There’s also no umbrellas or shade structures. (Just 4 cabanas which are gobbled up quickly). No sunscreen dispenser/ pump for public use which is a basic amenity at medium to high end places. No poolside service whatsoever. Oh and you can’t bring your drinks (even water in plastic cups), into the pool. You are basically paying almost 200 bucks per person to have pool and sauna access for the day and the pool is as hot as a hot tub. Everything else is DIY.
I had a very frustrating experience with this spa. I had a reservation scheduled for 130 only to be notified last minute that it needed to be rescheduled. The notice was way too late for me to make other plans, and it completely disrupted my day. To make matters worse, when I tried to call for more information, no one picked up the phone. I called multiple times and got no response. This lack of communication and professionalism is unacceptable, especially from a spa where people expect a relaxing and stress-free experience. I won’t be returning, and I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone looking for reliable service.
It was just ok. There’s limited food and drink options, the pool area was very small and the signage could be better. I got lost multiple times looking for the bathroom. I feel it should be a given there should be ones off the pool side at least.Another thing that really annoyed me was the robes had no pockets for my phone. The complimentary shoes were in the locker were too small. I’d rather picked my own slippers.
The experience was honestly great until an item within the spa pool slashed open my foot, abruptly ending my peaceful visit. The whole ordeal lasted an hour causing my foot drip blood as soon as I headed out of the water. The lifeguard had to make sure the bleeding stops before putting a bandaid they later told me was expired. We waited for the Island medic to arrive where they actually did advise to keep an eye on the injury because of it was a large chunk of skin. No manager presented themselves and to someone by the name of Candice who sweet fully ensured that the director would both call and email me the following day. The director failed to call and I proceeded to reach out to the communications team who also ensured that someone would call me back. The third attempt again did not result on anyone calling me back. Not ideal customer service. The pool was also not drained after my blood spread in the pool, which was very odd.
I had a really lovely experience. Really not sure why this place is getting such hate.Ambiance: Super relaxing atmosphere with some beautifully designed rooms and aromatics. My friend and I found ourselves alone or with one other group max during our visit. Id be concerned about potential overcrowding when its busy since you can stay as long as you want. We took about 4 hours exploring at a leisurely pace.Rooms: There were a decent number of options! My favorite were the acqua level vichy showers and the infrared room. The pools werent open when we were there, but Id imagine that would be a popular spot as well. My one issue is that there were a lot of saunas. They did a good job decorating and theming them differently, but the ratio is probably still too high. Id like to have seen some other options like a salt pool or jacuzzi or something.Service: Staff was really really nice. However, I could tell they were stretched thin. We werent given a tour or run down of the facilities at all, and we really could have benefited from it.Food: I mean...youre going to a spa in NYC. I would expect the food to be extremely expensive. Maybe my bar is too low, but I was pleasantly surprised by the free veggies, snack, and coffee/tea for a $100 day pass.
Beautiful views, nice pools. Very rude massage therapist , lack of customer service with an incident with the therapist. Staff is not friendly at all (with the exception of the front desk folks). Cleary not well trained, employees just walk by ignoring you. We even witnessed a big argument between kitchen employees. Elevator was disgusting, very dirty, so were the wine glasses. The buildings are nicely decorated but lack maintenance, you can see dust everywhere. Currently waiting for a reimbursement for the issue I had with the therapist. No response yet from the customer service, will update review once I hear back. Very disappointing experience - better to go to Aire Baths or the Guerlain Spa.7/19/24 STILL NO REFUND!! Worst customer service EVER.
I went for my birthday, as a treat to myself and a surprise for my partner as they had just come back from a trip overseas. The Spa was the perfect treat for the both of us! Getting there was an adventure itself as neither one of us had been to Governors Island before. It was more popular than expected. I thought that it was going to be crowded as we walked behind a crowd of people who had also arrived there by ferry, but the spa has more than enough space and rooms and pools to accommodate everyone. Staff were helpful, the service was great, the rooms were clean, you get your own locker, robe, towel, and sandals. I only went for 3 hours but will definitely do more next time! Their lunch and snack menu isnt too filling, but it gets you through the day, meals are light, so pre-eat accordingly. Its a spa on an island so it may be a little more pricier than most places for drinks and food. But you totally get the bang for your buck! Views of the city from the outdoor heated pools are amazing especially sunset and the night views of the city are great! Definitely going back when it gets a little warmer!
While celebrating my husbands birthday at qc spa on friday 7/26, a power outage affected your establishment. we patiently waited approximately two hours for the problem to be resolved, until the staff closed down the whole establishment and forced us to leave. while the power was out, we were unable to fully enjoy the facilities. the pool water wasn’t being filtered, the saunas, steam room and aqua spa were unavailable, there were no lights in the entire establishment, no power for the elevators, no backup generator for safety or convenience. we had to paw around in the changing rooms without lights to find our things, and my husband even cut his finger on a locker door due to the lack of lighting. We expected a full refund for our visit, as was communicated to us as we were being forced out. the closure was not our fault, and neither was the lack of preparation and planning for the safety and comfort of your guests. we hope to regain faith and loyalty to your spa, as our family enjoys the facilites regularly, and it would be a shame to stop coming back.
Amazing SPA, I come here every month because I really enjoy it. Being Italian, though, I know how all the other QC places work and it’s a bit disappointing that a free aperitif is not offered in the price like in ALL locations in Italy (especially since Governors Island doesn’t offer as many options to eat nearby and I don’t think you can exit and enter the SPA anyway). It would be great to bring that tradition here too!
Had a great day but was ruined by the lackadaisical staff. In one of the pools outside, there is a sharp rock where my friend cut his hand (This had happened to someone recently but they chose not to rectify the issue and fix the rock) and the people on Watch had minimal to no first aid experience, their first aid box was terrible and felt like a school first aid kit and it was a terrible experience. Luckily, one of us was a nurse as they didn’t have a clue what they were doing.Furthermore, the handling by the manager was terrible! Referring to the fact we signed a waiver and not doing the decent thing by paying for my medical care due to negligence of the company not fixing the pool.Make sure you never get injured on their premises as they lack ethicacy
Dont go here if youre not a going there with a relaxed mindset. Out of all the Tik tok hyped spas in NYC, this one was my favorite. Make sure you go there with someone that knows how to hang and isnt criticizing everything. I went here for my birthday and it was the best birthday ever. The only thing is the food was expensive and the drinks werent worth the price. Overall youre going for the spa and not the food.
Ive never been to a spa before, this was my first experience ever in my life. Anyway, the issue for being 1 star is that I went there for relaxation since its a spa, the relaxation area was so noisy that it wasnt even relaxing, it was bothersome. People were loud talking, workers rushing everywhere, it was not a relaxing experience. The sauna was ok, im not really into sauna but the cream for your face was nice. If you are into sauna then you could find the place nice. I checked all the other things they provide, nothing caught my attention. So they do provide with towels, 2 are small towels, and the other is a robe, they explicitly say that for additional towels/robe u will need to pay. This is where the other issue comes into place, after being annoyed for the relaxation area being noisy, i decided to try the red lighting bed for 15mins, i left my robe on the hanger outside, and by the time i finished with the red room, it was gone. Someone took the robe and i was just left there without a robe. I didnt want to bother walking to the front desk and explaining what happened, since i was already annoyed with my experience and I dont want to make their day into a bad one. Front desk is nice though, they explain the rules fully. So i just excused myself and left, all im saying is that, they should improve the areas of relaxation and should have a way to prevent people taking your towels/robes. Overall, not a fun first experience going to the spa.
Very luxurious! Great location, excellent decor, super clean. Can be a little less relaxing when busy (we went on a rainy Saturday) cause friend groups/couples don’t always know when to shut up in the rooms intended for quiet. Also, finding the steam rooms wasn’t particularly intuitive and we almost missed that area entirely. Otherwise, would highly recommend — maybe on a weekday there are smaller crowds or more singles.
Beautiful spa with TONS of saunas. Getting there is super easy, it’s a 5 min ferry ride and a 2 min walk from the ferry. I went in March and it was COLD but the pools are perfectly heated and all access paths are heated too. I can imagine this place getting too busy in the summer - this will be a winter t retreat for me. I didn’t get to experience any of the services offered but I still had a great time. Drinks and food are a bit pricey especially for what you get but that’s ok. 7.7/10
Great place with great views! You get a free ferry boat to governor’s island if you’re going to the spa and once there are given a robe and flip flops. They have many different kinds of rooms and amenities including saunas, foot baths, body baths, upside down room, and swing rooms. There’s also various places to just sit and relax. Outside there are pools which overlook the city. It’s a wonderful place to watch the sunset since the pools are heated. They serve food and alcohol and it’s not expensive given you’re in NY. Would highly recommend as a date or just a time to relax. Bonus: depending on the month, if you go a week before or after your birthday your entry is free as long as you go with a paying person.
I had a very nice time at QCNY. There are several spa facilities, but probably the main attraction is the outside pool and the amazing view of Manhattan. It is a great place to relax, I advise to do the 5 hours as it is the ideal amount of time to spend.Food seemed bland so better to eat beforehand - sometimes the staff was nice, but some other times kinda of annoying, apparently after you get dressed you are not allowed to be anywhere. Also the place is kind of a labyrinth, the layout is a bit weird and they would benefit by adding some indications.
Our visit was on a Monday. We took the 10am ferry and were tucked into our Frette robes by 10:30. The spa itself is aromatic - I think the scents are bespoke to QC, but the general essence was something like cedar. There is an aromatic room where you can try on scents like silk, wool, linen … very lovely. All of the hair products smell great too - I started with a rain shower (the showers also have wands) and then headed to the wet saunas for a Vichy bath, a foot bath, wet sauna and a walk through a “cloud” shower. I found the infrared mediation room (which was empty and very serene) and blissed out there. Then on to the Swedish saunas - each set at a different temperature. I think the highest temp was 163. A few of the dry saunas have windows looking over the harbor - kind of unique to be able to see outside during a sauna - I liked it! These spaces had little head rests and timers⏳so it was very comfortable and easy to know when it was time to move on. There is a “library” with plush rocking chairs and a fireplace - I nearly rocked myself to sleep. When it was time for lunch, the options were about what you might expect spa-meal wise: salads yogurts … we ordered the poached salmon salad and our attentive server brought us special Himalayan salt in addition to the tangy dressing. There was a nice selection of vegetables, breads and (Tate’s) cookies (gratis) … along with fruit waters, coffee and tea. Wine was $16 BTG, there was a nice selection, and it was a generous pour. Everyone working there was friendly and helpful. The whole day was really a complete delight. I’m already planning my next visit.
This spa is in an excellent location. The staff greeted us and welcomed us even though the tickets hadnt been activated when purchased for that day. Which was a little confusing, and not explained on the website. That was a small hiccup and once again the staff was welcoming and checked us right in. Spa is very nice and the saunas and wet room are awesome.
I spent my birthday at QC this past Saturday and was absolutely blown away by the experience! I have been raving about it to everyone that will listen. The spa was clean, smelled amazing, had great amenities, and wasn’t too crowded to enjoy and relax. Seriously already plotting for when I can go back.
Such an amazing escape from the city - was the most blissful 3 hours of my life. And the SMELLS… major aromatherapy. Staff walking around was so helpful - special shout-out to Ronaldo for attending to us with such care! I definitely would recommend to go earlier on the weekend, around 12-1 it started to get a lot busier/more talkative, so if you’re looking for a zen experience opt for the morning. Highlights for me were the steam rooms - especially the mint one - and the underwater music pool.
This spa is totally worth the visit, especially when its chilly outside! The heated pools are amazing, and everything inside was extremely relaxing. My partner described it as life changing. Will definitely come as often as we can!
If youre looking for an amazing experience to relax with amazing views of the city definitely come to QC.Added bonus if you come M-F within 7 days of your birthday its free (if youre joined by someone paying). There are many themed spa rooms and pools and its worth it even without getting a treatment.
If you’re looking for sauna - definitely not recommended. They have multiple sauna, but all of them are set for the same temperature and same humidity, what literally makes no sense. But the real problem is that temperature is sauna is very low (not exceeding 165 degrees) not allowing to sweat properly. Moreover, when you exit sauna there is not cold water pool or shower. Thus, you remain overheated. People who designed this place have no idea how sauna facility functions. But if you are not interested in sauna, it’s a beautiful and calming place.
Came here for my birthday and I really loved it here. It was very relaxing and I think it might have been the best massage Ive ever gotten. I only wish they had longer massage times for a full hr. It was raining on and off throughout the day but the sun came out and we got some pool time as well. The view is amazing.
Rochelle was a wonderful receptionist polite quick and knowledgeable. I appreciate our interaction she made myself and boyfriend comfortable and excited ! A lovely spa and great way to get away from NYC
EDIT: girll. Read the reviews. That same girl latoya was the one who gave us all this issue at the front desk and we are hispanic. Sounds like she got a problem and needs to be fired. Crazy how people are having similar experiences with her. And QCSPA ofcourse doing nothing about itLet me start this review off by saying I had been and was a returning customer. I’ve been going to QC since they opened up in Governor’s island. I went numerous times and even recommended this place to friends and family. The service I received today was nothing short of awful. What was supposed to be another relaxing day at the spa turned out to be more stressful than a meeting on zoom. For context we booked third party, always have, the exact same thing every time and no issues. Until todayIt was my husbands birthday and we decided to once again take advantage of their birthday promotion as we do every year for our birthdays. I knew from the get go that this time, it was not going to go well. They immediately could not find our booking. Which was strange to me because they had a very bright yellow sticky note on their computer that had my whole government name, my booked time slot and even “bday” written on it. Strange that they couldnt find my booking info yet they had my booking info before i even walked in.Anyway they eventually and magically found it after a few back and forths and suddenly it went from a simple check in process to a complete hot mess. The self titled “front desk manager” said that my husband cold not come in until 6pm due to availability. Even though we booked months in advance. They then proceeded to say that we could not take advantage of their birthday promotion because “weve since changed things” yet the website has the exact same info it had last year and the year before. She then wanted us to buy an entirely new ticket, meaning the birthday promo was not going to be honored. And if we wanted them to honor it, we would have to wait til 6pm to check if there’s availability. Mind you we were there by 10am. It clearly states on their website that as-long as you’re accompanied by a PAYING guest that the birthday persons entrance will be complimentary/free. This isn’t our first rodeo, we have used this exact promo before.Manager then claimed that there is a price difference between the daily pass price and the birthday price. Yet instead of asking us to simply pay the difference, she kept up selling us packages that we were not interested in.We had all documents we needed to have and proof of ID with the birth date shown and we were still refused entry unless we paid for an additional ticket for my husband. Which has NEVER been the case. Not for his previous birthday, not for mines, my mother etc. you get the point.Listen, I don’t care if the birthday promo is no longer a thing but the least y’all can do it update your website if thats the case. And if honoring it is such an issue then please just get rid of it completely. Zero customer service, they were not trying to find a solution at all. We kept getting told “well happy birthday but-“ absolutely ridiculous and humiliating if you ask me. The availability thing made absolutely no sense to me because if yall are so “full” then you wouldn’t even try to offer another FULL PRICE TICKET for us to be able to enter. Funny how the availability changes when mor money is given.I will not be going back to this spa, they lost a long time returning customer. Deal with this place at your own risk, because they clearly have a problem with people booking third party yet continue to offer their services to said third party. It should not matter where I’m booking aslong as im booked and my pass is paid for! But clearly that’s not the case with QC Spa. We were turned away, promo not honored and no refund. Have the day yall deserve.
This was an amazing experience! I would highly recommend making the trip to QC NY to anyone visiting the city, even for just a day. We went from 4-7pm and had an amazing time as a couple doing everything 100% together because the amenities are all co-ed, which we loved. From steam rooms & saunas, to foot baths & hydro jets, to outdoor pools & enclosed fireplaces…we had the best time here. Only negative note, is that their bistro had very little menu options, especially for a couple who are picky eaters & don’t drink alcohol. But can’t blame them for serving “spa food.” Don’t skip out on this experience if you’re around the area!!
Escape the city’s hustle and immerse yourself in tranquility at QC NY Spa on Governors Island. Just a short ferry ride away, this spa paradise offers a rejuvenating retreat with over 20 unique wellness experiences, tailored massages, and breathtaking views of the city skyline. Open daily until late, it’s the perfect spot to relax, revive, and restore. Whether you’re commuting by subway or driving to the pier, the journey is effortless. Trust me, the vibes and vistas are absolutely stunning!
Feels like the fyre festival of spas. The entire experience is just a gimmick, they don’t offer any of what you typically expect to see in a spa setting. The place is swarming with people and you just feel stressed the whole time. And forget about spa etiquette, the people here have no idea how to act and staff is nowhere to be seen. A lot of the “experiences” are redundant (just different types of saunas or water features), and the food looked unappetizing.
Loved this spa! There was so much to see and do with just purchasing the entry for the day. I didn’t add on any services but didn’t need to! I spent the day here and didn’t run out of relaxation options. Will definitely be returning and highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing day escaping the city.
Definitely such a cute spot and little quick getaway to relax. The place has good amenities. I’d recommend going early on weekdays since the place is on the smaller side and can fill up quick. Food is on the pricier side. Only bad note is the amount of helicopters flying loudly throughout the island so bring headphones
$300 and you get these uncomfortable $30 Walmart chairs to sit on for 5+ hours? Also if you do not get there by 11am- there are no $30 Walmart chairs for you to sit on. Imagine paying $150pp and then having to lay your towel out on the ground? Well that’s what people we’re doing…The lounge chairs are +300-500$ on top of your $150+ entrance fee. So expect to spend $800+ for 2 ppl….so if you think you can just grab a relaxing chair and take a nap, you are mistaken. By 3pm, 3/4 of the ‘VIP’ lounge chairs were empty. Also staff was rude about it and dismissive that we came last year and the lounge chairs were first come first serve. This place has really no one downhill since opening.
Hi my name is James and I hade a a disagreement with one of your mangers in regards to a service that should have been provided. She was extremely rude. Then we watch her pull the lifeguard aside to communicate with guest. He was extremely respect and engaged with the females respectfully. We appreciate his service. He hade a red cap and an astronaut tattoo.
Nice facility. A little small to what we expect for this price.Suggestions for improvement:Stop the annoying music in the saunas.Reduce ac in the changing room.Remove the strong white light projectors on the main pool.Expel noisy laud groups.Reduce prices in the cafeteria.
Crowded, dirty, terrible staff, not relaxing, overpriced and just overwhelming.Where do I start, the food is not good what so ever, there is no sense of relaxation, the amenities are terrible, you have to pay for pool side seating/ cabanas.
Really nice escape from the city - the time we spent here felt like we were on vacation.Staff was friendly and attentive and the spa was clean and welcoming. We booked a 50 minute couples massage and had a great experience. The additional saunas, showers and steam rooms were great. We had an evening appointment and there were only a handful of other guests which meant we could use all the amenities without a wait.Unfortunately the outdoor pool was closed but Im hopeful it will be open soon as the view from that area is stunning.
For the price of the entrance fee, I expected to get more for my money. I feel like there was a lack of attention to the smallest details. The lower level had the aqua spa. At first when going down to the aqua spa i though we were in the staff elevator because it lead us to a corridor which was really weird. The only part i enjoyed was the rainfall water table, but I feel like there should be more then 4. People were standing around waiting to use the amenities. I was bumping into other groups of ppl in the small hallways to the saunas. There were about 4 or 5 saunas, some of which didnt feel the slightest bit warm inside. The bistro was disappointing. I was looking for gourmet food and all I found was carrots, celery, bread, fruit and cookies. They couldve offered some dip on the side atleast for the bread and veges. The tables were still full of dirty cups and plates from the previous groups. I couldnt wait to leave just so I could eat a meal. The most disappointing part was paying full price but the full services werent available yet such as the pool outdoors. To end the spa day before leaving the locker room all the nozzles of the shampoo and conditioner kept falling off which was very annoying 😑 All of this made it the least relaxing experience in my opinion.I really hope they can get it together for the amount of money they charge.
I feel bad leaving two stars but this spa is not what I expected it to be. The views are beautiful of Manhattan and the staff were kind when I asked questions. However, the layout of the building was so confusing and I didn’t know where a lot of things were or where I was supposed to start. Some of the rooms seemed random and unnecessary. Not hygienic and some of the saunas smelled really weird. It’s not a peaceful environment and everything is claustrophobic. The pool should have been way hotter. Expensive food and I also got a really bad ear infection.
QC SPA WAS AMAZING. Will come back again! Enjoy the jets the view .The steam room was nice love it my mom liked it too
This was a very nice experience, and I’ll be back. The facility was clean and not to crowded on a weekday.the mini charcuterie board was a joke and comprised of things that were not cohesive or tasty. Lol I saw multiple people not eat theirs, including me 🤣. Drinks were also pretty expensive $18 each. I’d eat before arriving to the island honestly.
Stunning views! That’s the reason why this spa is so expensive. Price performance wise not good.People are very loud and taking pictures, of course that’s okay with the amazing view but should be more enforced it’s also a spot for relaxing and contemplating. For all Sauna lovers out there (coming from a Scandinavian country) the saunas are very cold. The highest temperature is 156 Fahrenheit which is very cold. Some of them was as low as 140(??)Everything was clean and neat but misses that extra touch and finesse of just comfortability that a place in this price class should have.If you like the view go here, it’s a cool experience, the rest is mediocre.
The best spa in NYC away from the city. The views alone are enough to enjoy a full day at the spa alone or with friends/ partner. The heated pools are amazing. This time of year is perfect to be able to relax in the pool and not be cold!QC Spa offers many different rooms to remove the stress from one’s body! My favorite rooms were the rain room and the relaxation room with plush beds. (I actually took a 20 min nap.It was amazing lol. You should definitely book a stay here if you’re looking to free yourself from the concrete jungle. You will not be sorry.
This place has definitely went down since the last visit and then to top it off My wife was kicked out because it rained and she put her clothes on quickly and was told she had to leave immediately! It was her Birthday! Not cool!
Pros:Beautiful viewsOutdoor pools are fantasticLocker rooms are new well equipped (dyson dryers!)Lots of rooms to handout inCons:Checkin process is very slow and disorganizedFood and beverage also slow and disorganized with strange pricing.Everyone waits in a line inside. They really should have ppl take orders at the cabanas who wants to wait in a line at a spa. Pricing is really odd too. Charcuterie is $4 and a tuna sandwhich is $26
Great service and beautiful location. However, the spa design is less than impressive. Before QC NY is open, I was a long term fan of SoJo spa on the NJ side. SoJo has a much more seamless design for customer’s experience. For example, SoJo provides phone charging stations for free and anticipates customer’s needs such as small lockers in front of steam rooms and saunas. There’s no such things in QCNY. I had to run down stairs (confusing layout too, by the way) to keep my phone in the locker in the restroom.
Was worth it once for the birthday special, second time around clientele stinks and so does most of the service. Rude exit for check out as well.Worth it to dip in a pool on governors island, not a real spa experience unless you like loud people talking next to you in every experience.Your mileage may vary.
Everything was great but our favorite part was definitely Mr.James at the bar!He made our experience even better with how well mannered and friendly he was.Def a place to visit and make sure you stop by James at the bar! He’s the man.
