I have visited FloLo Holistic for a yoga easy flow class on the penthouse, while on Classpass. The location is very central, easy to get to, and the room energy and light coming through is simply invigorating! The space size is just about right, there is a lot of room to move, as well as the opportunity to feel the groups energy. Prompts and modifications offered were valuable, and the light coming through the glass complemented the experience.

If you’re considering the couple’s sauna my advice is pick a different place. I can’t speak to the other services here but the couple’s sauna is a complete joke. Read on for more details. On the plus side the staff were great. They were friendly. They made us feel right at home, and they were helpful. The space, however, is a mess. Immediately I knew something was up when we got to the waiting area. They have a bench that is practically unusable. It looks cute until you try to sit down and realize it’s not only a bit too narrow it’s also too high so your feet dangle just a bit. In a space devoted to pampering people it was telling that even this minor thing wasn’t comfortable. The sauna was upstairs so we waited on the uncomfortable bench-thing while staff got our space ready. We were told there was a yoga class going on upstairs but that we didn’t need to worry. As we got upstairs we understood why they were telling us. We literally had to walk through a yoga class to get to this sauna. Not the end of the world but not hardly ideal for us or the class. The door to the sauna was probably less than 10’ from the yoga class with a privacy screen a few feet away from the door to the sauna. We get inside and it’s tiny. My partner and I are not big people but there was very little space. There was no where to hang our clothes. We had one bench that had to hold all of our clothes. Just getting undressed together in such a small space was difficult. When I was told we were going to a couple’s sauna, I pictured stretching out together. There would be no stretching out here. It felt like we were sitting on a bench waiting for a bus. It’s so small inside there was literally no other way to arrange ourselves. We just sat facing forward, feet on the ground. Not the most romantic setting to say the least. There is no mood music. There is no mood lighting. It’s just a well-light room with a bench in a very hot room and you stare out the glass into a bathroom. It’s supposed to be an hour sauna but they told us they encourage people to get out of the sauna with about 20 minutes left so you have time to shower. Had it been a decent sauna this might have bothered me. The weird thing is the sauna is on a timer so it runs the entire hour regardless of what you do; so they are paying to run the sauna for an hour but actively encouraging their patrons to only use it for 40-minutes.The shower isn’t anything to write home about either. One shower head for you both to share. But it was slightly bigger than the sauna so there was a little more room to move about. There are robes to put on but it’s not exactly clear why you would put them on or where you would go once you had it on. Remember there’s a yoga class right outside the door. Even if I didn’t mind strolling through a yoga class wearing a robe there wasn’t anywhere else to change. This might be the worst part of the experience. It’s hot and humid in this tiny bathroom/spa thing and now you have the joy of putting all of your clothes back on! Not fun.We throw our clothes on our sticky bodies and head downstairs hoping to end the afternoon with a little tea on the almost-a-bench-thing. Most spas would have a nice set up with proper mugs and honey etc. Not here! There’s a stack of tiny paper cups and an electric pot. I pour it into my cup only to discover it’s just hot water.I enquire with staff. There was a lot of back and forth with each other and I was lead to believe that the person in charge of the tea did something else with it that day. So there we were with two hot cups of water and no tea, our feet dangling in the air. It’s so ridiculous that we did manage to laugh a lot while we pretended to wait for a bus in the sauna. You can’t really plan that kind of fun. The staff was great aside from the tea thing. But if you’re a couple considering the couple’s sauna I would highly recommend going somewhere else.

I did the floating tank experience and it was quite weird but good. I expected a more cutting edge sort of feeling but it’s rather a hippier thing. Decently clean, staff quite nice and friendly if a little stony. The price is right and the bang for the bucks it’s there, I’m not sure it’s something I would do again or often, but totally worth to try.

I went for evening vinyasa yoga in the Penthouse. The space has a great energy and is pleasant to be in - with its glass roof and a view of sky-scrappers around, offset with candles lit by our yoga teacher. They had mats and all other props free of charge. The room fits probably 12 mats so it is not huge. Unfortunately no area to change, but I used the bathroom downstairs.

Im changing my review. Because the owner is a very caring and generous person. They care about the center and its clients so this means a lot to me. He explained management is changing and I believe this will turn over a better lead. I’m excited to see the future at FloLo. My mother and I have been coming for a while now and have always had great experiences.Past review now edited to the one above: the past two experiences have been the worst. I had a great experience using the infrared sauna at Floating Lotus! I’ve used regular saunas at the gym but this type is supposed to be better (though these are compact for one person whereas the gym saunas have plenty of room to spread out). The receptionist was very informative, friendly, and happy to answer all of my questions. The 30 minute session cost $45. The sauna room included a nice standing shower and sink with soaps, shampoo, towels etc. and they give you 30 minutes or so after the sauna to take a shower and chill in the room. The heat was set to 140 degrees (and adjustable), not too hot and it felt therapeutic to sweat out for 30 minutes. The facility itself is a great wellness space - they have a bunch of other services. It’s conveniently located off of Columbus Circle. Always looking for a new personal care and wellness service and this worked out great!

Went there yesterday for the floatation for the first time. The receptionist was extremely nice. The overall vibe is great. The floating tank was fine as well. The reason I’m leaving 3 stars is because of their issues with lights. I finished floating, exited the tank as soon as I’ve been told to, and started taking the shower. In less than 2 minutes the lights went off. It went pitch black. I figured it could be motion activating. So I waved hands, clapped, nothing happened. I called the front desk and she told me to look for the light switch. There weren’t any light switches. So, I didn’t finish showering properly, couldn’t put any lotion or anything like that. Had to use my phone flash light to dress up. Don’t think gonna be coming back for floatation to this location.

I had a nice experience here, however the staff seemed very stand-offish with me when I first arrived. Specifically whoever was working the front desk that day just seemed annoyed with everyone which is not the vibe you want at a spa. Ive never had a bad appointment at Floating Lotus and have been going for several months for laser hair removal packages. My appointment time is always a Tuesday at 1pm and they know thats when I schedule. I think theyre rather professional and the price is good. Ive always felt very welcome. There arent actually any issues with the elevator as described by some reviews, I think that might have just been that day. You dont need a key to go up. The packages are super affordable and I like that I can get a good amount of areas done (combo of sizes) in less than hour.

Why 2 stars? I reached out about a week ago on email to ask about BIPOC representation and inclusivity. It seemed lacking in their marketing , especially since the about us was diverse. I even followed up with a phone call and still no actual response. I’m genuinely curious what their practices are for fostering an inclusive environment. I’ m pushing the question because this isn’t the type of place that you just pop in and out. It seems like there is space where if you want there is room to be a part of a community. It really is not a hard question to answer honestly, especially because I still chose to purchase their services.Even without a response, I still purchased some stuff and checked it out and if not for the lack of response I would have given it a solid 4 stars compared to other similar spaces in the city.Pros: Clean and overall good wet float experience. They offer a lot of different experiences which was ideal for me as I was looking for cupping , floating and having yoga was a bonus.Con: the space is a little tight and the layout is a bit of a maze ( it’s NYC). The towels are a bit thin

This place is discriminatory, I asked the instructor about phrases she was using, that I did not understand & she looked at me like puzzled like she didnt understand, or ur not allowed to speak to her. And the odd looks were strange too, like she doesnt communicate with ppl that are not of color? Next thing I get an email asking me not to come back with no reason at all. When all that occurred that day was me asking a basic question. This is supposed to be a place of “yoga” practice of wellbeing and that they are not. they should rethink their business practices as they are not inclusive of all people but have a specific classification of persons they prefer at their studio, based on race and wealth. They have yet to give me any real explanation or reasoning on their cancelation of me, when in fact nothing occurred, just me asking a question and getting a puzzled reaction frm their instructor as if shes never been questioned on an instruction???

I was given a gift certificate for mothers day for a floating salt water treatment and decided it would be fun to bring a friend, so I got her a certificate for her birthday. We went to the spa looking forward to a relaxing experience. The girl that greeted us was very nice but told us she was just covering for someone and could not answer some of the questions we had. That was ok except for the fact her lack of knowledge turned out to make the experience not exactly great for us. She did not go over almost any details. It was not until after our hour was up both my friend and I noticed the sheet of paper in the room explaining the things she should have told us, or at least she could have shown us the paper! We both were not given ear plugs, were not told where the lights were so we both left with water in our ears and were pretty sure the experience would have been better had we be told the details on the sheet. Also, I used the bathroom before floating and had to clean dried pee from the toilet seat. We were there pretty early on a Monday. so there is no reason the bathroom should seem like it had not been clean in a while. The whole point of coming to a place like this is to relax, I would bet there are better options out there for the salt floating experience.

Had my first facial at floating lotus with Jill. She was helpful, informative and did a great job at making me feel comfortable.Second facial just succeeded in stressing me out because I felt incredibly uncomfortable with Natalia. She did not explain any of the products she used, nor the steps she was performing unless I specifically asked. Moreover, every product she used was some kind of anti-bacterial (which is not my concern with my skin, its dehydration). She did not greet me warmly or ask about my day. She was cold, expressionless and indifferent throughout the entire facial. At the most, she had some negative comments about my skin that made me feel uncomfortable. Lastly, there was no shoulder or arm massage that should be part of the deep cleansing facial. Natalia kind of just slapped the bottom of my face numerous times, which also did not live up to par with my experience with Jill (who actually knew what she was doing).I told the manager my concerns. Sadly, I regret paying $120 that I could have used to get a much better facial elsewhere. Not sure if Ill ever go back to floating lotus after that nightmare.Edits: Jill reached out to me after my second facial. She was able to rectify the situation. She provided me with another facial. She understands my skin and helps me understand how to take better care of it. I felt valued as a customer and would highly recommend trying Jill for a facial.

A day later, Amanda emailed stating that the time I booked the session had been booked and that I needed to reschedule...OK..thats fine. I re-booked through ClassPass and Amanda confirmed that the new time worked.Thursday rolls around which is the day of my new appointment. Im super excited. Even took 2 hours off early from work so I could enjoy my time. Then, 3 hours before my appointment, I get an email from ClassPass that my appointment is cancelled. Not from Amanda or Floating Lotus..from ClassPass. So I email/call Floating Lotus. No response. Absolutely awful customer service. You would think that during covid a small business would do something simple like, I dont know, provide an explaination as to why my appointment was cancelled same day? Or even pick up the phone? Nothing. This is clearly one of those businesses that advertises on ClassPass but will toss you to the side if a full paying customer books. They will 10/10 times cancel the ClassPass reservation with no regard for the potential client on the other end of the app if they have someone booking directly through them. Bad business practice and they need to be reported. There are plenty of other infrared sauna establishments in the city that are worthy of your business. Dont go here.

I had come in for laser hair removal, during my consultation and first appointment with a great technician. They had me pay for three sessions in advance, which Ive had to do before at another location before so I figured it was fine... Shortly after my first session I had learned that the original technician had left so they set me up with another person. This woman was rude and acted as though I should have been honored by her presence there. She also completely contradicted the at home care tips that the first technician had told me. At the end of the session she tells me it would be an additional $30 because she had to shave a small patch of hairs I had missed! Umm they require a 20% cash tip for a service that is already costly, like relax. For my third appointment they screwed up my timings really badly (this occured at pretty much every appointment but this time took the cake since I had taken time from work). It even got to the point that the owner gave me a free session, but by this point I was done, I had seen no difference in my hair growth and all these mistakes just really piled up.I had recommended Floating Lotus to a friend of mine after my first (and only successful session), sadly she had pre paid for three sessions before I got to learn of all these issues. She literally decided to let the two sessions go because it was honestly not worth the time, energy, pain and effort it takes for something that didnt work. I say didnt work carefully as I know laser depends on the person etc. (Been doing hair removal for 14 years so I know my stuff) - but I had ONE session at The Laser Spa and I saw a huge difference, and after my second appointment here I seriously wanted to cry, I was so happy at the results. Not only that but I pay by session! They are so much better and I wish I found them first, it would have saved me a LOT of headaches.

Bought a Groupon for two sessions in the salt cave. Have been to several others and always emerged breathing better and revitalized. Twenty minute delay on arrival while the attendant checked a group of 3 in, but he was polite and offered me an extra ten minutes on top of my allotted half hour in the “salt room”. Unfortunately the salt room has Himalayan salt tiles on the wall, but no salt in the air. The walls could have been ceramic or stainless steel or dry wall and had the same effect. Should i even mention the most uncomfortable massage chair ever? Fifty-one dollars down the drain. Buyer beware.

This one star review is for the common folk out there looking to float. Looks like for 150 bucks you get and hour and for $200 you get 90 minutes of floating, which is the worst deal I have seen anywhere (but hey , this is is new york city). Unfortunately, it does seem to be becoming the norm for these places to cater exclusively to the wealthy. Also, if youre really looking for benefits beyond a little relaxation, I (and many other experienced floaters) highly recommend floating for at least 2 hours, but somehow, the majority of these joints offer 1 or 1.5 hour floats. Cheaper high quality facilities are out there - it may just take a little digging and, unfortunately for new yorkers, some travel....

Dont go for the salt room or salt cave, because you will be disappointed. Ive been to other salt rooms in the past and was expecting a similar experience, where salt blows into the room and the entire room is lined with salt, heated lamps, and you can really tell youre breathing in the salt. But this was a tiny closet or bathroom stall sized room with a fancy massage chair. The room is lightly heated and the walls are lined with salt bricks, but I cant tell a difference from sitting in there for 30 mins. To me, sitting in there in the massage chair was no different from going to Brookstone or Bed Bath and Beyond and sitting in one of the demo chairs. I didnt smell the salt or feel any difference, which I normally do from other holistic treatments and other salt rooms. I would say skip this and try something else. The yoga class I did was part of an event and that was fine. The people who work there are all really nice - nothing against them. My honest opinion is this salt room/cave is an overpriced and ineffective service. But Im picky about services and results and this one didnt do it for me.

No one picked up the phone, I left a Vm. They returned my call pretty fast, a nice young lady thanked me for such a detailed vm and scheduled me for March 8th for 5pm. Everything was pleasant so far.On March 8th, I took a time off from my job to attend the floatation. When I got there, they said I’m not in a calendar! A receptionist started going back and forth to the managers office. I was standing by the elevator about 20 mins like a weirdo until the manager finally decided to talk to me.No one offered me a seat or a glass of water while I was waiting. So, manager came to talk to me. The conversation was useless. She basically said that there is nothing she can do.I decided to request a refund for all 5 prepaid packages I had, she started arguing with me in front of the waiting costumers that I have only 2 packages. It was so embarrassing. I had to look up for confirmation emails and forward it to her. Also, she said they she’s doing me a favor bc they don’t do refunds usually. I was shocked. They messed up my schedule, I spent time and money going there. I’m an organized person, I do my schedule far in advance.I also had to go through my phone calls to find and show her an incoming 2 mins phone call from 2/11 from their office when they actually schcedulled me because she was acting like I’m sort of a crack head who’s making up things.Anyways, be aware people!
