The Banque Country Western

2/10/24- I went with a group of friends and we had a blast. If you want to do line dances this is the place. I was so shocked that so many songs had dances to them. It was crazy to also see so many who knew the dances. They have a small dance area for people to practice. I do wish they would do a song or two with no line dance but I guess that is why you would come here.There was a 7$ coverage charge. We got there around 10:30pm.The tables were reserved but we were lucky and given a table after some people left. Our server was great and super quick with drinks/food. We ordered the mozzarella sticks and fries. Both were really good. The bar tenders were also great who helped us before we got the table. I would love to come back after I know some line dances.

I’ve been coming here for over 10 years now . It’s my home away from home . Which is funny because my dad used to go to The Banque when he was first stationed in the area in the early 90s! He still enjoys Banque Nights as well !The staff is like my family and you can tell they truly care about their guests and their jobs . The food is on point (highly recommend the prime rib or the firecracker shrimp) and the drinks are ALWAYS cold. I live 12 minutes from a competitor bar & would rather drive the extra 15-20 minutes to The Banque.I cannot stress enough how awesome this place is !

Go to this place for the atmosphere. Food was fair but we had a great time. Will go back again to this country bar. Dancing lessons start at 6!

The best country bar and staff I could ever ask for. After going there for three years I can honestly say that I feel apart of their family. It has been a true blessing getting to know each and everyone there. They’ve supported me breakups, helping me pay for rodeo and supporting me every chance they get.

Used to be a huge fan!! Bar actually closes at 1:30am not 2am like in their website. I pay a fee to get in to be there til 2 not 1:30. Recently they reserve all tables before they even open, if you don’t have a reservation you won’t have a seat. It’s a bar… anything under 4 should be first come first serve. When they switch DJs around 10-11 the music sucks with other DJ and its heavy on the slow dancing. They have the place cleared out by 12:30 because of the music. Slowly becoming less of a fan!! Disappointed honestly!

Great place to hang out with friends. Line dancing. Multiple bars and smoking area!

Good food, good music, and plenty of dancing. Always a great time. Free partner dance lessons at 6, line dance lessons at 7, karaoke at 9, a new weekly food special, beer pong, pool, and fun all night!

Good bar, good atmosphere. Place where you and your friends can go to just have fun line dancing, two stepping, and country swing. Does tend to get crowded Friday and Saturday nights but youʻre still able to have fun dancing.

I wad dressed for cocktail party, but I was delighted to find this place. Welcoming for a guy unfamiliar with this scene. Very upbeat western bar. Prices are great. They mixed the music also sometimes with hip hop. The western look with boots and short shorts can drive you crazy. There’s some pretty girls there. Plenty of white ones. They eat well also if you know what I mean. Brown ones also. I would repeat for the vibe.

This place has been open for years & Im kicking my self for this being my 1st time.The Banque is Country Western with bar basics (soda, beer,bourbon & the like).We felt welcomed upon entry. (some tables reserved for regulars).Fri &Sat Prime rib night😋.I was not disappointed! Huge dance floor that gets plenty of💃🕺use( even impromptu classes). What an added bonus ...if youre game..Hopefully, my pics will say it better.

Great place to have fun and drink as well eat food there and had a blast hanging out with my friends to and I sure do miss this place.

Quite the experience!We ended up here with some friends and were pleasantly surprised by the good food and wonderful service. While were not big into line-dancing, well gladly come again for the experience just to watch others!

Coming from CO this place is a disappointment. The floor is too small and there is just too much hip hop music that is played…Also, people seem to lack floor etiquette. Those who don’t know how to dance, will get in the way of those who do.The bartenders seem as though they hate their lives. Not friendly or personable at all. Gave it a try 2 different times and the vibe isn’t good. If only it had a better country vibe and scenery.I’m an avid dancer and love it…I definitely miss the country vibe that I had in CO…Virginia just doesn’t have it. Maybe other nights are different, who knows.

I love going there when I can. We had a wedding reception last night and I cannot say enough good things. Everything was perfect! Venue was beautiful. Food was amazing and the staff was on point. ❤️❤️

If The Banque was closer to my home I would be there all the time. Have been going here since 1993 and it just keeps getting better. We travel almost 3 hours several times a year to dance and socialize here. You will find a great diversity of folks here. Many professionals, some of us hard working boys and girls, and a terrific show from the military, both young and old which gives a great balance of dance styles on the floor. Extremely good dance floor etiquette, you can both line dance and partner dance, orchestrated by a terrific DJ, who takes request. Service is impeccable and management is active to ensure you are having a good time. Handicap accessible, and accommodating in every way. They have modernized the facility including the floor, which almost dances itself, cleaner modern restrooms, and they added a smoking patio. We are not smokers, and never smelled smoke. Great selection of mixed drinks and beers. Food is very good and plenty for the price. Reservations can be made and management will help you design your evening. Dance classes are available on certain days and teach great steps to modern and classic music. Not all music played is country western. A very up beat and fun experience. Even if you dont dance there is seating with terrific vantage points for spectating, but Ill bet you get on the floor. A very good time for young and senior.

So apparently guys can’t wear sleeveless shirts but a large portion of women walking around in tank tops, strapless dresses and strapless tops… like to enforce rules for some but not all.

I moved here in January of 2023 and this is by far the best country bar in the area. If you love to partner dance, if you love to line dance, if you love to meet new people. This is the place for you. The food is great, the waiters are phenomenal, everything about this place gets 10 stars and not just 5 in my opinion

We had a wonderful time ! My mom is planning her 58th birthday party and when I tell you these people are amazing ! Food was out of this world! The owner greeted us and showed us around and he was very nice ! So blessed to be here! Thank y’all for everything and helping make my mother birthday amazing !

We went and it was our first time. Staff were friendly and approachable. The DJ had the place on fire 🔥 everyone was dancing. We even learned some new dances. The crowd was having so much fun! I only gave the food 4 stars because we didn’t eat there but everything looked and smelled amazing.

It had been 34 years since Id been here (Sang/performed here a few times) and Im SO glad I went! All these years I always remembered how good their steak dinners were, so when I was looking for a place to eat, The Banque came to mind. (It was called The Fifth National Banque back in the day! 😊). And just like that, they did not disappoint!!! That steak was cooked to seasoned perfection!!❤️ And WOW have things changed in there as well!! ALL POSITIVE!!!💯While I sat and enjoyed my perfect steak dinner, I watched and listened to all that was going on and I must say, I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it. I loved watching everyone (much younger than me now, Lol!) having a great time dancing, line dancing, and hanging with friends. And I absolutely LOVE that every age (adult), race, creed, color, and more were in there TOGETHER having a great time. Also I love the variety of dance music as well. KUDOS!!👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼It did my heart good to go to a place with a long history in Norfolk, has wonderful food, and happy atmosphere. Thank you to those who keep this place going. Im definitely coming back for sure!😊

The Banque is one of my favorite places to go to hang out with friends, dance, and have a safe place.The themed nights and competitions are always so much fun and there’s something new every week.Staff, security, management, and owners always have a smile, are helpful, and genuinely care about the patrons.

This the best around 757 ! Great food awesome staff and the dj’s play the best music !!! Always a great time here and love when they have theme night loved the shirtless cowboy that they just had and can’t wait for all they have planned . Love hanging out with friends and all the new friends I have met here . Also they have line dance lessons and karaoke . Again I will High Recommend coming to the Banque you will have a great time !!

My go-to spot. Awesome line dancing and two-stepping atmosphere (they even have lessons if you’re new to the country dance world) with a fantastic staff, drinks, music, karaoke, pool tables, seasonal events, and so much more. Great for out-of-towners and locals. Military and ladies get in free on Thursdays too! The Banque never disappoints :)

Line dancing lessons are wed through friday 730. Great teachers. Try the hillbilly fries and the strawberry shortcake drink (alcoholic) averages prices. Not cheap nor expensive. Sad thing is after 9 they 2.50 for water... no not bottle water just tap water so order a couple glasses before 9

I went with friends because I had never been. 4 stars because it was very loud, limited seating, and if you wanted anything you had to go to the bar. The bar staff was very kind.There was plenty of parking. We were checked quickly at the door. The bathrooms were good especially considering it’s a bar. There was tp, soap, AND paper towels.No bar fights. No drama. Lots of dancing. The karaoke room was cozy and the KJ was nice. Don’t go to sing. It took 1 1/2 hours to get to sing one song.It was fun to be able to go from dancing to karaoke and sometimes sit down to watch. Line dances ran from intermediate to advanced. There was one that had too many twists and turns to try without someone teaching it.Overall I had a good time.The crowd that night was mostly early 20’s but I’m told the crowd changes from night to night.We didn’t have any food. We all had a drink. No issues. Clean plastic cups, which I prefer. I hate dirty glasses or chipped glasses.I would definitely go again.Will update my review with more information!

I have been going to the Banque for years. It’s my go-to-spot on a weekly basis. Dancing, music, the staff, food, drinks, karaoke… what more could you want? They teach lessons for one’s who want to learn more and the regulars are happy to help too! Highly recommend going to the Banque!!

This was the first time that I ever went to a country western bar and it was by accudent. I went through a social group and had no idea but I had a blast!! They even teach you a few dances😊

Tonight was very unprofessional. A girl literally was having seizures/ fainting spells back to back on the dance floor. “Medical professionals” saying keep her on her back. When an actual medical professional was saying put her on her side. Not to mention the DJ kept playing music because “some people don’t know how to handle their liquor” and “management told us to keep going.” The owner tried arrest someone for “public intoxication” when a friend was just sitting outside with her trying to sober her up and get her fresh air and they weren’t even causing a seen. The cop even laughed in the owners face and said they were fine. The owner also shoulder checked the medical professional who was trying to help and told him to get out of here. I’ve also been to this bar multiple times and they don’t ID and they allow underage girls here and tried to hide the fact 8 of them got roofied LITERALLY and they tried to hide it . Please be careful I did not feel safe here.

Great service, awesome music, fantastic security. Everyone is so friendly and the DJs make it so much fun! Love this place and I always feel safe because everyone here looks out for you. Highly recommend!

The banque is a treasure of a Honky tonk bar in the Norfolk area. Large dance floor and a fantastic offset practice floor. It is the most “authentic” country dance hall in a 4 hour radius. The service is stellar and prices are reasonable. It also boast a karaoke lounge in the back. I’ve been coming for a year now and the banque blows all its competition out of the water. The main thing that makes it special is the community of dancers that frequent it and its outstanding instructors that start each night off with line dance and couples dancing lessons. The etiquette and respect for the dance floor is always present with none of the hoodlums seen in other local establishments and of course the security is top notch. If you want a place to comfortable learn, eat, drink, and dance. Come here, you’ll meet some stellar people.

Came here with my mom Becuase prime rib is one of her favorite meals and I hear they have some of the best here with a great deal. I’m the food was mediocre and the server was new with little to almost no information. For every question I asked she needed to ask another person/manager and she seemed so nervous to do so which made our waits in between questions that much longer. Overall we liked the vibe but wouldn’t recommend the food unless maybe trying the finger foods and maybe some dancing. (Looked fun!)

The food was good long time to get it. The music was hit and miss every song was line dancing I was looking forward to dance on my anniversary night but every song when I was there all lines. Where the free dance why all line dancing mix it up.

Worst experience I’ve ever had with line dancing. I drove 4 hours to line dance and all it was, was slow dancing. I asked for 3 songs and 4 hours later I heard none of them. Will never be coming back.

My husband and I had an awful day. Just going through an awful time lately. Our friend watched our babies (2 under 2) and we went out together for the first time since before we had kids. We just wanted to have a drink together and enjoy watching others dance and maybe have a dance ourselves. We bought two drinks and sat down. The server with the blonde hair dreads and bad teeth came over and said we needed to order from her if we wanted to sit there. We said ok. She literally came over CONSTANTLY basically begging us to order drinks. We would be having a conversation and she would come up to us and just stare or do a big grin with thumbs up for ages… It was weird and in all the bars and countries I’ve visited in the last 15 years never had an experience like this. She then said if we wanted to continue sitting there then we needed to buy more drinks from her. We hadn’t even been there that long. We said you’re making us really uncomfortable and she started getting mad and mouthing off. We just got up and left soon after. We paid our cover charge, we paid for alcoholic drinks. What’s with the outreached hands of this server? I’d maybe give the bar another go but would sit all the way on the other side of the room to avoid this unhinged woman.

I’ve been coming here for 2 years now and while my dancing still needs work, it is absolute heaven. The energy is like none other. Good prices, karaoke, great staff, tasty food, welcoming, and with a disco ball saddle, I don’t think there’s much more I could ask for. The only thing I don’t like is that there aren’t more locations. With how busy it gets every single night, I don’t see how they could not! Please come to Virginia Beach so I can be there every night!!

My boyfriend brought me here for my first time 12-1-2023 was totally blown away by how much fun I had we came back 12-2-2023 and was not by any means disappointmened had a F-in blast and Im 61 boy, did I come out of my shell wonderful staff and service, and of course DJ and security..

Really cool venue! Food was good and they have Shiner Bock which is always a huge plus for this Texas boy. My gal and I enjoyed the line dance lessons a lot. My only grievance was after the line dance lessons, the floor remained extremely crowded with the same group of people performing the same handful of line dances for hours afterward. It made it really difficult to try and two step skirting around the edges of the dance floor and not have someone run into us. Probably our fault for not showing up earlier or on a less busy evening. Still a great experience over all, will definitely be back.

Buffet luncheon if about 80 members of a Club. Service was great whats good and so would entertainment.

Fun music and atmosphere. Great place for line dancing, 2 step and other country dances. All skill levels are welcome and peoples abilities range from beginner to very experienced. Take advantage of the free line dancing lessons at 7PM if you are just starting out.

I love the Banque. Ive been a regular patron for 14 years now. It feels incredibly safe, military/police friendly, large dance floor, and lots of people who would love to teach you how to dance. Its just an incredibly fun atmosphere that cannot be replicated.

Words cant even describe how i feel about this place. But i will say this bar has provided me with the most amazing friends and helped me become a great dancer!

I got there as the class ended. I didnt learn to square dance yet. But the special they offer here twice a week, a huge steak and two sides has literally gotta be the best deal anywhere. Better than Outback Ill be back for another steak soon. Amy has got to be one of the best servers Ive ever had.

I used to regular this place in 1992 while I was going to my US Navy school in Great Lakes. I remember an interesting thing they did was to have a bucket of green painted bolts of all different sizes and thread types for the men and a bucket of matching, painted green nuts for women. The goal was to go find a matching nut for men. I loved that place!

Best place East of the Mississippi to Dance, drink, and have a bite to eat. The staff are like family and they make sure that you feel that way!

I just saw some guy leave the stall of the bathroom and not wash his hands. Smarmy fella left so quickly I couldn’t call him out on his gross nature. Wash you hands folks, and don’t shake hands with anyone you meet here. Otherwise great time! Drinks are a little overpriced but I’d come back after pregaming more! P. S. If you left the men’s bathroom on Sep 2nd, 2023 at 12:01 AM. I am looking for you and want to teach you what you should’ve learned 20 years ago.

I used to work here about 3 years ago and I loved it. Went again for the first time in 3 years and nothing has changed. Excellent place.

I saw this guy at the Banque on 17 Aug. He was tall, wearing a hat, had a mullet; just wanna say youre hot! I saw you smiled at me (maybe) when we walked past each other, wasnt sure, you could just be a friendly guy smiling at everyone :) I went back to the Banque but didnt see you again. Hope I get lucky enough to get a glimpse of you again ;)

Food was great, my kids got to learn line dancing. The lady teaching was awesome and did so great with them.

So sorry we missed you. Drove in from Gloucester to relive the old days. Haven’t been here since 1984. Disappointed that you were closed. Will try to return while in the area.

Great if you’re underage and wanna get drunk, you can also have a seizure in the middle of the bar and security with shove licensed medical professionals aside and say they’re only having an anxiety attack and they’ll be fine.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!!I went here about a week ago for my first-ever line dancing experience, and I can honestly say that from the second I walked in, I could not stop smiling. It was just fun, plain and simple. The atmosphere was so relaxed and trusting; I really felt like I could just have a good time and forget about my worries. The music was on-point and everyone encouraged you to at least try the dances, even if you had no idea what you were doing!The food and drinks were also very good, and the DJ was a riot. I would highly recommend going here, and I will hopefully get to go back soon!

Best place to go if you need some fun in your life! Go see Nicole and I Promise she will take great care of you, every single one of their staff members are phenomenal!!

This place is far from my house but the girlfriend and her friends love it. The atmosphere is great. The line dancing is great. Ive enjoyed the food Ive gotten. My only complaint is the table service. You are better off opening a tab at the bar and getting up to go get your own drinks and ordering your food there. I actively avoid having to transfer my tab from the bartender to a waitress working whatever table you sit down at. Its happened just about every time Ive sat at a table. They raise an issue like youre undermining their livelihood insisting you cant sit at the table and have a tab at the bar but if you transfer your tab to them good luck seeing them more than once every half hour. Theyre horrible. Everything else about this place is great but the waitressing is terrible.

I dont normally go to country music bars but I had a blast at this one. I tried to line dance and failed but no one was weird about it. I even made a friend in the ladies room. There are mirrors that the biggest selfie fan would go crazy over. Staff was very nice. LGBT friendly and not entirely white. It was welcoming and one hell of hoot hollern good time. There isnt a mechanical bull though so they might want to change that.

I’ve gone to this bar for years. Always has a laid back atmosphere friendly staff and not much drama at all. There are a lot of military that go since it’s located near the bases and they have a military night. Food is pretty good. Steak bites are awesome as well as the man salad. Excellent drink selection as well. Line dancing lessons for those of you like me with 2 left feet!

Super inclusive dance club, music is loud enough to sing along without worrying about someone hearing you but not ear blasting. Theres a smoking room in the back thats perfect for conversation, pool or beer pong. Bartenders are friendly and quick! Good vibes!!

Why I didn’t know about this place sooner!! First time last night and I had a ball. I knows nothing about line dancing but I loved to see everyone having a good time!!! Will go again soon!!!

We just moved to the area a couple of months ago and this was our first time here. The staff was amazing! We were treated like a guest in somebodys home. The prime rib special was outstanding and the entire staff went out of their way to make our dinner very special. They brought our 3 year old son an ice cream sandwich served on a plate drizzled in chocolate with a huge sparkler on top. The manager and her staff were so kind and really made us feel welcome. We cant wait to come back, as this will now be were we go when we go out.

They wouldn’t let us in because one of my friends had a jumpsuit on without sleeves. We didn’t see this rule posted online or anywhere inside. This happened as three girls with dresses on with no sleeves were coming out of the main room. They must have an issue with the LGBTQ+ community. What a shame, we’re usually really good tippers. Definitely letting the community know that they should skip this place and go support businesses that support us.

So this place used to be amazing. However it went down hill fast after they fired one of the best bartenders. I don’t anticipate going back to this establishment due to the fact that after this post I will get unfairly banned from entering just like my friend carissa. You would think a country western dance hall would support the constitution and right to freedom of speech. I guess it speaks volumes about the owner. I’m going to try to go tonight and update this review if I get banned for no reason.

The Banque staff has been the most loving and caring establishment I’ve been privileged to come and enjoy! There’s always something to do, and tons of dancing to watch ! They serve the best drinks for the best price around town! If you’ve never been don’t doubt you won’t feel welcomed like you’ve been coming for years !! Lots of fun! Great staff. Karaoke is awesome here too! They do practice sessions for free on Thursdays (not including entrance fee) and are super fun.

This was the third of three country western dances in the area and by far the best for dancing. We only spent 5 minutes at PBR before we walked out, and eagles nest was okay but no one knew how to two step. Most line dances at the bank where you need to this location but they had plenty of two steps. They had no other couple dances which was the only drawback. Good food too

Honestly, the Banque doesnt look like much on the outside, but where this place shines is the inside. Great music, good beer, delicious food, and a welcoming atmosphere has me out here every weekend. The dancing is second to none with lessons on the weekdays and great music every night. Whether you want to spin your significant other or live it up in a line dance, the Banque offers something for everyone. I highly recommend this place if youre looking for a solid Western experience that welcomes all.

This place is awesome! I had reached out the morning of my best friends Bachelorette party and they were more than accommodating to reserving a table for us! They even held it a little longer than expected (thanks for that btw)!! The whole atmosphere is just laid back with people enjoying music and dancing. There were patrons and staff that had been going there for some 20 years and they helped ensure she had the best, most embarrassing night to remember!! 🤣🤣 #missionaccomplished

So much fun here, always a great vibe and my go to for a great weekend! The music, lights and drinks are superb with a great staff to back it up.

We love this club. Classy and safe and friendly and the food is wonderful. Our favorite server, Charlene, is always happy to see us and is a wonderful server and friend. We used to be regulars, but moved away. But we go there every chance we get when in Hamptom Roads. Great line dancing.

I expected bowling alley quality food, but was pleasantly surprised. The food was restaurant chain quality, nothing spectacular, but not bad enough to be a distraction. We got some free like dance lessons which were well given and fun, and then doing them to songs later was great. There were some regulars that somewhat detracted in their desperate attempts to confirm their superiority on the dance floor, but that was by far the exception as most regulars were very nice and tried to help the uninitiated follow along. Later in the night, the clientele seemed to get younger and younger, but thats not a positive or a negative in my opinion. Overall I recommend the place. It was great, large, fun, and had a good number of alternates to just dancing even though dancing was the focus for sure.

Only reason I give it 2 stars is due to arriving at 930pm and not getting to sing at karaoke till 1230am, I get that the list was long was just not really what I am use to for karaoke.

Pretty decent floor, though some people dont quite understand the separation between couples dancing and line dancers. Also the DJ can be hit or miss keeping a balance of what music is being played. There are some nights where even when weve made requests, they might not be played till maybe the last half hour of the bar being open because theres easily a power hour of very basic line dances. I get wanting to include everyone but spacing those out a bit more would be more appreciated all around.Also liquor here if you order it straight has gotten VERY pricey. And their mixed drinks are watery. Most of us stick to beer or wine and even those are priced a bit high.Wait staff can also be hit or miss. Most of the time I prefer just going up to one of the bars and getting another drink rather than try and track down whomever is our server.

Finally, I decided to visit here. Awesome night line dancing at The Banque. Good food, cold drinks, and awesome service by Georgiana. Will be making this a regular spot for date night.

I hadnt been there since the 80s. I had a wonderful time. The food was excellent. The music was great. Plenty of parking. Only thing that I didnt like was that I was cold sitting at the table. Some of the people I attended with kept their coats on the entire time. It was a private event so after dinner, I danced until it was time to go.

Place is awesome I come all the time. Food is good and service is awesome. But tonight we had Mickey. We had say at her table after starting a tab with Lauren and told her that when she asked if we had tabs. Then prceeded to say, If youre going to sit at my table you need,to transfer your tabs, in a very rude manner, not cool. Then didnt see her for 25 minutes. We didnt even get her name until we asked another waitress. And she only would get us more drinks when we got up from the table and asked her. And I was going to order food but she never came to the table before the kitchen closed. We Shouldve just stuck with Lauren she is the sweetest and actually attentive to her guests unlike Mickey.

If you like line dancing or two stepping this is the place to go with friends. No live music, but DJ plays mostly country or variety of songs that have common dances. They accept requests. It is a bit odd they have low top tables next to the dance floor so if you step off the floor your tush is in someones face or plate. You have to go with people because you arent allowed to stand at the bars because its more of a walkway, so there isnt a big pick up scene here like other country dancing halls with rails around the floor and actual bars with stools to sit at unless its the one in the back. Three bars in the main room and table service available, but slow. They also have a huge smoking room in the rear with multiple pool tables, also new patio for fresh air!

So I usually call in an order for pickup.after work. Their steak bites I give a 4.5. Never really disappoints. Also decided to try the nachos. Ordered the fixings separate from the chips with extra chips. However this something I will not be ording again. Requested without jalapenos an olives but was also missing shredded cheese an sour cream. Anyways with the items I received I give the nachos at the highest a 2.

This happen a while ago but it has left such a horrible taste that I have to tell the story. A waitress named Lauren, after providing horrid service (wrong drinks delivered twice plus 1 hour of waiting each time. This is not an exaggeration!), made me change my tip amount and threatened to have me thrown out. I do not know why she behaved like that but it was the worst experience I have ever had going out anywhere. I dont know if Lauren still works there but avoid her if you can.

This bar is amazing. The staff is amazing. And the back bar. Is super amazing. Brittany and Kristy are amazing gals. Knowing how to make and serve drinks. I highly recommend this bar.

Ive gone twice and the dancing and crowd is awesome! Ive had the same server both times and have been continually disappointed with the attentiveness. I receive my initial order but have to go to the bar for anything after, including refills. I was told just last night that the bar will not serve/sell water and that purchase has to come from the server...very disappointing considering dancing is exhausting without hydration. Ill continue to go a few more times to give another server another chance in hopes this is an isolated problem because I have a great time as long as I want no food or drinks.

I’ve been coming here every week for years. This place is a home away from home because the staff and management treats you like family. It’s always fun to learn new dances and the atmosphere is so friendly! I love this place and would highly recommend it to anyone.

Been here a couple of times. They offer lessons and do karaoke. Heads up though karaoke is in the smoking section... that didnt bother me but Im sure some of you will appreciate the notice.

Love the place. Did get a weird bartender that insisted on forcing my hand and giving her a tip when my tab was almost 100 dollars. She insisted saying she hooked me up all night with free drinks and such. Told my buddy the same thing too. Other than that, still had a great time with good friends and great music.

LONG LONG LONG TIME.I have been going to the Banque for lets just say Many Years.It is the ONLY TRUE line dancing Night club I have ever found in this area.Dance floor is always busy between the line dancers and Two Steppers-Over the past few years they have made some amazing changes! A great Patio out Back with-Corn Hole boards, Great sitting area when you just need that breath of fresh air!A few years ago they Made a Large Smoking area , I like to think of it as a whole other bar with in the bar - and I mean LARGE area- Has its own stage, Pool Table, Beer Pong and of course full service bar area.The Staff is always friendly and welcome to everyone, As we any place we all have our favorite bartender, This is the only Bar I know in this area where some of the stage has been there for 25 years and they love it.Food is alway on point and the kitchen pumps it out fast and fresh !While you alway have a ton of fresh new faces - they still have customers that have been coming for more than 40 years.. THAT alone says something !PLENTY OF parking ..There is no better Country Bar in this area !

This bar has gone downhill in the past year Ive been coming here. They constantly move things around the pool tables are cramped together. The amount of drama there made me feel like I was back in high school. Its supposed to be a country bar but they play more pop and rap than country. I get its a line dancing but whats so wrong with people free dancing? The DJ doesnt take requests EVEN WHEN YOU TIP HIM WELL.They swap out employees like I change socks.The bartenders are cool and the food is great it would just be nice to have more consistency.

Friday night line dance instructor is amazing!

My wife and I went there for the first time. I am not used to a dance hall where line dancing rules the floor. On a percent scale, 98% of the crowd line dances and it ruins the fun of dancing with a partner. The staff is wonderful and the music current, though a lack of George Strait and Kevin Fowler leave me wishing for a Texas Dance Hall. The crowd isnt rude and they do allow a little room on the outside for couples. We did try the Eagles Nest, but soon left. Not sure what to say about that place. I am sure we will return because my wife loves to dance. One good omen is that the bar carries a Texas Beer, Shiner Bock. Thumbs up. But for the owner of the bar, IT IS NOT CONSIDERED AN IMPORT!!!!

Had my daughters 18th birthday dinner there. It was pretty good good. Decent buffet for $10. Service was a bit slow. Ordered a drink I never got. But it was fun.

The Banque is my go to for a good time. The atmosphere, music, women and military appreciation has got me sold. The promotions are informative but not over bearing. The space is HUGE and you wont feel cramped. Whether a visitor or a long time Hampton Roads resident, you will be hard pressed to find a better place to blow off some steam. In addition they have a country wear apparel section. 10/10 I will recommend. 💯

For the second year in a row, my organization has hosted a party for 50+ women at the Banque, and each time it has been a wonderful success. The attention to detail by the staff at the Banque is always impressive, and everything has always run perfectly smoothly. Jennifer is great at event planning and organization, and the staff on hand at the event were quick to anticipate anything we could possibly need. And, of course, the atmosphere is great--my group loves the line dancing lessons! Great drinks, great food, fun time--strongly recommend for parties and large groups.

Otherwise, honestly there wasnt anything particularly special as compared to other country bars Ive been to

70 year old line dancer here. Had not been to this venue in 25 years but have to say I felt at home last night when I went with my daughter and some of her friends. Enjoyed myself very much and the young dancers didnt try to push me off the floor. I gave it my best shot. Would love to go again.

Worst bar in Norfolk bartenders put drinks on your tab to that you haven’t ordered so they can basically steal your money. I know because I personally know a female bartenders that told me that’s the they make extra money I can name names too !!

Ive been going here since I was 12 years old, on family night back in the day, and its always been killer! Everybody is nice, polite and super friendly! If you dance at all, or not at all, come join in! Everybody will help you along to have a good time!

For about an hour and a half, between 10:30 to 11, they played actual country music in the COUNTRY BAR, but after that, they played Hip-hop and nothing country. Really disappointed with my night.

A lot of fun to line dance here. People are always so nice and will teach you on the floor. Fried pickles were severely under done and there is a $10 minimum on credit card purchases so bring cash.

Used to come here all the time despite all the new negative reviews coming out. We always come here to do country swing dancing and enjoy drinks woth friends. We came here last week and my date flipped me as we have always done-The manager came over and was almost screaming at us that she would kick us out if we do it again-All she had to do was say that they dont allow that anymore and please dont do it again-and no problem. The waitresses and waiters are great but their manager really needs to learn customer service-I was hanging on as a regular but now Ill just go to Eagles Nest Chesapeake.

Great music great people just a little snappy about the masks. The downside was paying the tab. My tab ended up being paid by a friend , then refunded and then I paid my tab and after I left they charged their tab to mine. It was just a mess. Please assist the bartenders with tab it can be stressful and hard at times

Fun western atmosphere with food, drinks, and dancing! Music was a little loud which made it difficult to hold a conversation with other people, but all in all good time!

I came from texas recently and as a hardcore country lover I was very pleased to find such an amazing country western restaurant/club. They host dance lessons 3 out of the 5 days they are open so no one is left behind. Definitely recommend this to anyone whos looking for a fun night.

Its a nice place. Great if you know line dancing since all the dances were done that way. Friendly people. Our waitress was great!

When I went the DJ kept switching to slower songs, which would clear the dance floor and kill the vibe.It did seem to have a lively friendly crowd so if you live in this part of town its a decent place to go. In my case I have other places that are closer, so this is a secondary option.

The music is hit and miss. To ight its a miss. There are a lot of good dancers the banquet. Each have their favorite songs and dannces. But most dancers can dance to good music with a good beat. All one must do is watch people leaving the club at around 10: 10:30 to figure out the night is a miss in regards to what is being played. As for drinks sales and people dancing, I stop ordering drinks when I know its getting near the time to leave. Id stay until I felll over or closing if the excitement was on the dance floor, but sitting all night watching a near empty dance floor is boring. Play more old and new hits and watch what brings people to the dance floor. Keep us all there until closing

Staff was terrible and the waitress was RUDE. The atmosphere and crowd was descent at best but we left after 5 minutes due to problems with Staff and service. Do not recommend even if you are looking for a good country/line dancing bar. Try Eagles best because this place is a JOKE.

Great place to go. I live near Ft Lee. I Drive 1:45 to go there to dance. God is good. Staff is really nice. People are nice. Try it. Promise you will love it!

Its a shame that when management tries to weed out unreliable staff, a few patrons can complain and get these specific people hired back (or so Ive heard.) Just because you are close with someone, does not mean they are a good or hard worker. If these patrons really cared about their favorite hangout spot they would understand that management is trying to better their business by removing incompetent staff.

Since they want to try to silence people here we are yet again. When I first came to the Banque I loved the atmosphere. It was a great environment and I always enjoyed coming until they started going downhill. They began firing long time employees and allowing people to act trashy and get away with anything and everything in their bar. It turned from a family friendly environment into another trashy pitstop bar. I was a regular at the Banque and once I found out they fired a favorite bartender to many of us (Charleen) I became very irriated and decided to write a review this morning which went from my origional 5 star to a 1 review. Charleen was always there for many of us on our roughest days when we would just come to the bar to get away and be with friends. She was especially there for me after my mother and sister in law died this January. Never has a staff member ever gone above and beyond like that for me and I know she has been there for many others. Well after I wrote my review several others (22 regulars to be exact) followed and posted their reviews as well. Aparently the new manager didnt like this as removed their write a review section from facebook. Well here I will post it again.Business leaders who adopt the attitude that anyone is replaceable, thinking they can simply hire someone with a greater skillset or someone with a more prestigious pedigree, are fooling themselves. When a company has a truly great employee, that employee carries value that simply cannot be replaced. They have extensive product, systems, and process knowledge. They hold client relationships that have been built over many years or could take years to duplicate. And great employees have camaraderie and influence with their coworkers, which when lost, has an impact on the corporate/companys culture within.I will no longer be coming to the Banque when I visit VB and I emplore others to avoid this establishment as well.

Manger was rude and we were asked to move to a smaller table since the rest of our party had not shown up yet. Manager also mentioned ships pulling in but since im in the military i knew for a fact that no ships have pulled in for awhile. I will not be coming back and dont recommend the place for smaller parties. Try Eagles Nest and PBR Bar the staff is friendly and actually cares about paying customers.

The DJ doesnt really honor requests. The same songs are also played over again on the same night. Food is average. Service quality depends on which server. Its definitely gone downhill.

Not the best place IMO. Too many bros and buckle bunnies trying to pass off as country. I was hoping they would play good music but a majority of their stuff is FL/GA Line and other pop country music. Ill go somewhere else next time

Beware. There are racist patrons that frequent this place. I was called the N Word on the dance floor by a man who Ive seen every time I visited this place! I left immediately, and called and complained to the manager, describing the man who called me a N*GGER, and she knew exactly who I was talking about! Said that she would talk to him, make him apologize to me, and ban him from the bar for 2 weeks. (Sounds like a family member of theirs if you ask me) Yea... sure... that ought to fix his racist behavior. It hurt me emotionally, pretty badly. PSSHH! Ive never been back since!

I started attending to learn linedancing. They offer lessons during the week. The Friday night one is free. Music selection is a range of old country to current country hits. Pool tables are located in the back and thats also the smoking area.

If you dont know how to line dance its as good as any other bar. The reason why it got two star was the old woman at first bar to the left fixing my drinks, 75% jack 25% coke, the woman whos name a cant remember 5 stars. I got a drink from a lady in the smoking section, she fixed me a drink with a little jack and a whole lot a coke. Then she said I work for tips I said good to know, while not tipping after seeing the first woman lol

The bank is a wonderful and exciting place to hang out. The servers are always the best that Ive ever experienced. And its all around a good time at the motive motive is even dancing and having fun and thats the place to do it my friend.

Staff was unbelievably rude. My friend and I were there for the first time, and we ran into a guy we knew, who had bought drinks and offered us a water. As soon as he left, a bouncer (whose job is apparently to patrol the restaurant in search of people drinking water) came over and told us that we werent allowed to have a glass of tap water for free and asked us who had served us water. When we explained what had happened, he called us liars. What kind of a cheapskate establishment yells at new customers and insults them over tap water? If you come here and need water, make sure you have a quarter to placate the bouncer (or to throw at him).

I am amazed that they lube dance to most every song (yes hard rock and rap). The portion of the food is beyond expectations. The folks that go there di like to have fun.

Was there tonight and the dances seemed overly repetitive, they charge for water and dont give any sort of refills, and there is not always room for people to sit down. They definitely should re-think the whole charging for water thing- what if someone was dehydrated and puking? At that time i dont think they will want to pay 1.40 for a red solo cup full of semi cold water with a few pieces of ice. Just saying....

The Banque is such a great venue. Kat was my server and was quick and attentive all night. The people are friendly and forgiving if you arent perfect at dancing.

$10 cover, fair DJ, been sitting at a table over an hour minus a couple linedances and not one staff member has asked if I would like anything. For the cost, youll have a much better experience at Eagles Nest

Super night club for country dancing and Carolina Shag dancing on Sunday afternoons. Great food at very reasonable prices. Nice atmosphere and clean. A fun place to meet and dance.

Food was ok. More geared for those who want to dance the night away. There is a great country apparel store that offers a great selection of products. The free dance lessons are fun.

The atmosphere here is the best. The food is great the dancing is also great. I can honestly say its one of the best places I have ever worked at. Love The Banque.

I come here every Thurs for karaoke and its always a good time. Some nights gets a bit dramatic though but good people good times

A friend of mine was kicked out for nit wearing a mask with no warning. For perspective, is wife handed him a mask to put on then a manager and cop came to him and kicked him out. You have to wear a mask on the dancefloor (which he immediately left) but not at the tables. He went to the table to get his mask and was escorted out by authorities because the manager had a short temper.

Its not bad , if you like extremely over priced drinks and rude waiters . We simply asked to move one chair over to our table and got an attitude and a no for one chair ! If youre looking for a place I would recommend eagles nest or PBR. The banque is just disappointing.

Food is wonderful, highly recommend the prime rib. Staff is polite and courteous, it does get a little hectic on them when they got a bunch of tables, But everybody does their job wonderfully.

The vibe here is great. Super comfortable. Good music and good food. And if you want to learn some great dances this is the place to come!

I’ve been going to the Banque for years and it’s always a great time. Good people, fun music, and great place to dance all night.

This bar does not value its paying customers. The dj is to busy catering to the demands of the 18 yr old crowd to play good line dance music. I spent 2 years as a loyal patron learning the dances taught in house every week. The dj never plays them again, always reverting back to thats my kind of night and the electric slide. The teenage meat market is not a money generating business. Its a put off to watch. I recommend that the owner stop trying to charge these teens for water and cover charge and just focus on creating a nice environment for the paying adults to eat, drink, and dance.

I had a great time. The line dancing was AWSOME. The ppl were nice. One dude chastised his friend for not catching the door for me. They were in the military..young gentlemen.

It was a great night I will be going back Wonderful crowd of people and waitresses were fantastic. It also was my first time and I loved all the dances.

If you like to linedance/2step this is the place. Not a club more of a dance hall so you can sit drink eat and socialize. Also indoor smoking room thats segregated from the rest with pool tables and a whole bar.
