Last minute I joined some friends to see a Poison Tribute Band concert at H of B.We sat out on the deck before the show. My friends enjoyed their pretzel and cookie apps. They said their alcoholic beverages were way too strong. When we went inside for the music everything ran smoothly and security was good. The sound was great. We really enjoyed the show.
Went to the deck for free live music on Friday night. Great band and good vibe. I would think the live music would do even better and bring in more business if done more frequently. Sad to see that you are closed Monday to Wednesday. We didnt dine in this time, only ordered some drinks, but the margarita was super sour though, so probably would not order again. Also sad to see the normal breakfast buffet is gone and only offering the Sunday Gospel Brunch at a much steeper price in comparison. I guess everyone had to adjust after COVID, but I miss the old MB HOB, as that was a frequent experience while visiting with the family. The store seemed to have less selection than previous years. There were some of the same exact items for sale that Id purchased over 5yrs ago. Maybe update some of the merchandise in stock? We will keep visiting because it isnt a trip to MB without a stop at HOB, but I wish you all continued growth and success as you adjust to the economy.
Fantastic atmosphere, staff, and food! We came in with a 9 person party, and Sammy our waitress handled everything perfectly. Drinks were constantly refilled, all the orders were correct, and she was very personable and funny. The building itself is humongous, and filled to the brim with all sorts of ‘Blues’ related stuff including the Ceiling of the Gods, which had all sorts of carved Blues’ legends. It was really cool to see. They had live music outside while we there, and it was fun to go watch and listen while we waited for our food.Food was top notch, easily some of the best we’ve had so far while we’ve visited. We had the brisket sandwich, bbq pork sandwich, a burger, and jambalaya among other things. Everything had a Cajun flair, and everything was beautifully prepared and delicious. Jambalaya in particular was very good and had the perfect amount of spice. All in all a 5/5 and was well worth it. Definitely look forward to going again.
The food was decent and the staff was nice. They treat the patio as a completely separate business and the vibes are weird. They also refuse to accept a takeout order, even though their website says to call them for takeout. In hospitality, taking care of guests should be the priority. Without guests you soon won’t have a business. This place seems way more concerned with their own internal policies than guest service.I stopped and told the manager how awkward the guest experience is and she didn’t even seem to care.I also sent feedback through their website to corporate and haven’t had a response.Be warned if you want a comfortable, welcoming, normal experience- this place probably won’t deliver.PS- I legit ended up ordering key lime pie and asking for a takeout box and boxing it myself. Like it’s just silly. Take care of your freaking guests.
Band was great, food service was ok.However, the chunky bartender with bright blue contact lenses was very rude and condescending. She refused to serve us, saying we had too much already (although we were not even tipsy and very respectful). She said she will not be bullied and can be a bully herself—so uncalled for. Not professional and extremely rude. Although the place was completely deserted, we were having a really good time until that. We have never experienced being treated so badly; so much for southern hospitality. We will NOT be coming back.
Really nice place. Environment was inviting, relaxing, great because our business team bought it out for the night also. The veggie egg rolls were delightful surprised the heck out of me lol. The fresh fruit was OMG soooooo delicious. Drinks were spot on. Crab cakes were a bit dry from what I was told, I didnt try them. I would definitely revisit.
Gospel brunch buffet is a must try! So many food options and everything was seriously delicious! Seasoned to perfection. Service was friendly and fast and the place was clean and well kept. It was great to have a live band playing gospel music while you enjoyed a scrumptious meal. I’ve been to Myrtle many times and can’t believe I’ve never been before, but trust this will not be my last time!
We attended the Bad Omens concert last night 5/21. This was our first time here & we decided to purchase a VIP table online about a week prior since the show had sold out. Let me start by saying that the staff we encountered from security to bartenders and waitress were AWESOME! Everyone took care of us and routinely checked in to make sure we were good. Unfortunately we dont remember any names but everyone made our experience great. For a smaller concert venue, we expected the food and drink options to be just average but we were pleasantly surprised. There was a special VIP food list that we tried the loaded fries from as well as the burger and they were pretty tasty as well as decently sized so we could share. The VIP lounge had a larger selection of beer and mixed drinks.Yes, the place gets very packed as is to be expected from a smaller venue. You have to push past people to get to the restrooms or merch line as general admission means people can stand and watch the show from mostly anywhere even the bar area.Overall, we had a great time and would definitely come back for another show! Would highly recommend splurging for the VIP tables.
Had an early dinner her on July 26thI had the Jambalaya, my wife had the brisket sandwich.Jambalaya was ok with a fairly aggressive peppery heat level. The brisket was fatty and chewy - disappointing. The entry of the restaurant is very reminiscent of New Orleans.Inside is very nice.Nice clean well decorated bathroom though my wife mentioned there is no place to hang a pocketbook while using a stall in the ladys room.Later we met some friends on the back deck and enjoyed a drink with some music.Deck was nice.Overall, a nice visit with the exception of the food quality and price.Outside deck had good music and great atmosphere. Very attentive wait staff.Very disappointing brisket and a little expensive.
This venue has created a wonderful atmosphere for musical art entertainment. They have a wonderful kitchen menu and amazing drink platform. Thank You to the Staff and Artist that make this experience possible. Stay Blessed.
I did not expect anything other than a cool place. Pleasantly surprised the food was great and we had Cheryl Blue for our server, OUTSTANDING! Cheryl gave us insight on the menu and schooled us on the history of the place and she was so so nice Everything was great we had an awesome time. Thanks HOB
Great venue, excellent restaurant, bar, & concert venue waitstaff and management, box office personnel, security...all top notch! The tribute bands they book are excellent, and the sound and lighting contribute to that good ole rock and roll vibe. Cover bands on the deck are enjoyable, too.My husband and I highly recommend.
We have been going here for years when we make our annual trip to Myrtle. The food and service is always surprisingly good but this last visit was outstanding. We had the seafood boil and it was so fun and had the tastiest sauce and sausage. But the stand out was our waitress Lisa, who may be the best waitress I have ever had in my life. She was so polite, fast, professional and cheerful without being annoying. They ran out of wet naps and she crawled through dry storage to find us an alternate solution to our fish hands. Lisa! You made our night! We will definitely be back again next year.
Went to see the Rock Orchestra by Candlelight with my husband on April 25. When the tickets were BOUGHT weeks in advance, the venue was told we needed ADA seats and our names were taken and supposedly put on a list. Night of the show we arrive well before the performance was starting and are told there wasnt any ADA seats left but I could go upstairs to check. (Ive never had to do this before but figured things changed). These were our ADA seating, unable to see the show I paid for and after walking past many open ADA seats was put in a small booth over the corner of the stage with 5 other people, a room Im sure wasnt meant for 7 people because only 3 could see the show. Not the first time I as a disabled person has been treated like this at this venue from being blocked by columns or being told ADA is full. Needless to say I left after 40 minutes very disappointed and out a lot of money for the tickets and the extremely over priced drinks we bought. Ill travel to other venues see any future shows from now on
I am not one to write reviews, especially bad ones, but My husband and I went to the murder mystery dinner expecting to have a great time. It was so so. My husband enjoyed the “mystery” part and trying to solve it, but unfortunately It was EXTREMELY loud. I could not hardly hear anything and neither could anyone else. There were several tables being very rude despite what was asked of them by the staff. The bread was stale, the salads were only about half portions, and the main course was dry and very small. It was advertised to start at 6:30. We did not get our salad until around 7:30-7:45.The plot of very cheesy and just too obvious.A few good things to close, our tea and water were always filled. The bathrooms were decent and the servers serving were excellent. The key line pie served as dessert was delicious! The cast as a whole was great and their acting was excellent, but the story line was below average.I do not recommend for people on a budget and do not go in hungry.
Food is mid. Rice is well seasoned but they skimp on just about everything for the price 1/5. Service is great. Live music and happy hour is great, 5/5 stars.
The House of Blues Myrtle Beach Gospel Brunch Buffet is a must-do experience! Heres why it gets a resounding five stars:Divine Buffet Spread: The food selection is incredible! From classic breakfast fare like fluffy pancakes and crispy bacon to Southern specialties and carving stations, theres something for everyone. Everything was fresh, delicious, and sure to satisfy any appetite.Stirring Gospel Performances: The live gospel music is the heart and soul of this brunch. The talented singers filled the room with uplifting energy and beautiful harmonies, creating a truly special atmosphere.Excellent Service: The staff at House of Blues was attentive and friendly. They kept our drinks refilled and ensured we had everything we needed to enjoy the experience fully.Fun for All Ages: Whether youre a family with young children or a group of friends, this brunch is perfect. The lively music and delicious food create a fun and memorable experience for everyone.Great Value: The price point for the brunch is reasonable considering the quality and quantity of food, the live entertainment, and the overall ambience.Overall, the House of Blues Myrtle Beach Gospel Brunch Buffet is a fantastic way to spend a Sunday morning. Its a perfect blend of delicious food, soulful music, and a fun atmosphere. We highly recommend it!
I believe this review is typical for what other people have reported for this restaurant. We had reservations for party of six at 6:30, and we were seated quickly but it took 35 minutes for anyone to even stop by our table and then it took another 20 minutes to get our drink order. Our server forgot to put one of our food items in so food came out at different times. Cajun pasta was bland; can get better sauce from a grocery chain. Portion sizes are small. Worst food and service Ive had in 20 plus years. It is also very loud and tables are close together. I would never come back, and I would never recommend this establishment to anyone. We understand why its called House of Blues because when you leave, you feel like crying and still need to go get some food somewhere else.
We visit the House of Blues for there Sunday Gospel Music Brunch. This is a favorite place for our Family during our Reunion. There is always a large assortment of breakfast and dinner options. Along with a large assortment of danishes and desserts. Also coffee, tea, juices, sodas and cocktails. The atmosphere and music is always great. The decor is reminiscent of shacks you see in movies representing “The Hole in the Wall” or “The Juke Joint.” The porch and courtyard are a nice gathering and picture taking area after the brunch.
House of blues was a great stop for my family on our trip. Food was really good, great music and a beautiful touch with Hollywood Pictures taking family photos. Everyone was so warm and friendly here! Would def recommend!
I love the vibe here! They do free music events out back and their venue for concerts is one of my faves! Its laid back, comfortable, easy to navigate and they have 2 bars that make service super convenient while still being able to see and hear the show! I came here for my birthday and it was such a good time, I may need to make it a new tradition!
Ordered the BBQ nachos which were good. Jalapeno cornbread had no kick at all, couldnt find any jalapenos. The butter was good. Main dish had the gumbo which looked like dog food and had not flavor. Brussel sprouts were overcooked and dried out. Not a place I would recommend for dinner special for what we paid. Plus when we pointed out to the server that their was items on the bill that we didnt order she got really nasty and acted like it was our fault.
Emo Night! I went so I could scratch it off my bucket list! My daughter and her friends (25 - 30 yo) had a blast. The only seats available were for VIP (whatever that was). I liked how at the bars they had 10 gallon water coolers, very responsible.I would up standing at the bar since I wore flip flops. It looked like everyone had a great time.It was more of a party atmosphere vs a concert. Even when Travis Clark, We The Kings, came out on stage people were allowed on stage.
Excellent food. We had the Brisket and Southern Fried chicken with garlic mashed, the cole slaw was not good way too much vinegar for me. The server, Bailey, used as little effort as possible to moving. She stopped by twice, once to take our order and to take our money. She walked by us four times and never once asked how our meal was. The place was not busy.
Great venue to go and watch a show! Staff was very nice and informative. It was pretty spacious as well with many options to upgrade your viewing experience. Prices at the bar were relatively reasonable as well. Stage felt a bit high so viewing angle was a little awkward but not enough to make it miserable. Would love to come here again in the near future
We had tickets to see the Elton John Tribute Band - (Greggie & the Jett’s) and decided to dine at the House of Blues restaurant. What a great decision, the bacon bbq smashburger was delicious and the shrimp and grits was over the top amazing. And Tracy, our server, was amazing, she provided spot on service, was attentive and so personable. Such a wonderful experience.
We had great food n the service. Cheryl Blue was one of most awesome waitress I have had the pleasure to meet. She was very informative and caring with a great personality. Get the bread pudding, I could drink that Carmel sauce!
This is our annual dinner on vacation now 4 years in a row. We have our last dinner of the week here followed by Friday night baseball game if theyre home. Food is always good. Atmosphere is great.
Seen Thousand Below, Crown the Empire and Nothing More there April 1,2023. Perfect atmosphere! Staff was superb. We had a VIP table and were literally treated like royalty. Food and drinks were wonderful and I felt the event was put together perfectly. 10/10 recommend and definitely plan to be back soon for another concert. I honestly don’t think there is a bad seat in the house!
Ok, I cant say enough about this place. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was really good. Had dinner and then went to see a concert by Carpool, a Cars cover band (they were great bu the way) buy what impressed me the most...my granddaughter has a municus tear and they really watched out for her. Asking if she needed the evaluated and a seat. They went out of their way to not only help, but they seemed to really care. Highly recommend!
Great atmosphere. Great music. Great service. Expensive $20 Margis...ouch! I didnt like the Gestapo like security upon entering. Its over the top and hard to shake the negative effects once inside. A little politeness and smiling gestures would go a long way to help set the tone before entering the building... really bothers me. Otherwise, once you get over that and remember why youre there and start having a good time listening and dancing to live music. Especially when the base hits your body. Nice!
Im an event planner out of NC who is contracted by the radio station to do front of house management for the CCMAs. This is my 6th year doing it. And I have to say I love working with your staff they all always go above and beyond. Luke is always so great. The building is fun and has so much to offer. Thank you for having wonderful staff.
Went to the restaurant part of House of Blues. Was not disappointed. This seafood boil for one is what my girlfriend selected. And I picked out a brisket sandwich. We also had some boneless wings that were out of this world. But even better than the food which was hard to top, was the waitress we had. Cheryl our waitress Explained a ton of the history for the house of blues even before we had the chance to order. She then took the time to get to know her customers. She even explained how they make their waiters and waitresses eat food here so they could give out personal recommendations on what is good. Cheryl showed hospitality and made the experience the best place we’ve eaten in Myrtle Beach. They need more waitresses like Cheryl. Well done.
I had a great time here! The waffles were soft, hot, and delicious! Also, they have a chef on site to prepare fresh made omelets. And trust it was cooked to perfection. The ambiance was colorful but old-time jazz vibes. The live music wasnt bad. And the service was great! Our waitress was attentive and readily available. Much appreciated!
I came with my husband and both our meals were delicious. We had the baby back ribs and southern fried chicken, but the star might’ve been the extra side of Mac & Cheese. So so SO good!! Tracy was so kind and pleasantly took care of us. Will definitely be back!
Was here for the New Years Dinner and Dance. We had a really good time.It was something different. We got there a little after 7 pm and was there until 12:25 am.The only issue was that the menu was set with no substituting. That kinda disappointed me.Especailly for the price you paid. You have to be flexible due to people not being able to eat certain foods. It was pretty good otherwise. We wanted to try something different. The waitress was awesome.
The venue was great as always; still a great place to see a show after all these years. It’s intimate but not crowded, although the VIP table section was a little cozy. Very helpful staff and servers. The menu was a bit more limited than I expected, but overall a good experience.
Its a great place to watch Tribute Bands play great music. Pandoras Box, a tribute band to Aerosmith, is an excellent band. I highly recommend seeing this band at the House of Blues. Just watched Face to Face Tribute Band to Billy Joel and Elton John. Excellent Excellent band. They played for almost 3 hours. Great music is a must go see tribute band. Just watched a great Fleetwood Mac tribute band tonight playing to a very full house.
We came here to watch a band in the outside area. Its definitely a cool place for adults. Drinks are obviously overpriced, but its a tourist spot, so its all going to be overpriced.
We came as a pre-concert dinner and drinks, and enjoyed it! Food was hot and SO good! A little trouble with our order with it being busy, but they accommodated us well, and staff was friendly! Would try again when in the area
We attended Gospel Brunch and selection of songs were great gospel spirituals. Service was excellent from the staff. Buffet food was not tasty at all. I was shocked that it was self serve which was a turn off for me. Also there were no straws available and silverware was dirty. If anyone is expecting to have the same experience like House of Blues Las Vegas, do not attend. It’s the complete opposite, no choir in robes just a few singers similar to a praise team in a traditional church setting. Not worth $43 per person for Gospel Brunch at all.
While I cannot vouch for the food, dont let the rough exterior fool you! This place was in better condition inside than I ever expected, though certainly small... Definitely worth a try! I wouldnt spend the extra money for the premium seat upgrade. Hang out on the wings in front of the bar for a little less hectic option than the mosh-pit-like sunken floor. The 2nd level provides a really good view of the stage without the chaos!
Photos of what I ordered & what I received. Only got 1 patty instead of two, + bun completely fell apart & the sandwich crumbled into pieces. I tried to order this togo, they said they dont do togo, but I could sit at a table, wait for the food, then immediately box it. Dumbest thing Ive ever heard.
We had a fun night tonight but there were a couple points that lowered my rating. First thing: online and our tickets said the show was at 7pm and it turned out that the doors opened at 7pm and the show was at 8pm. Therefore, we had to stand outside in the cold wind for 40 minutes longer than expected. Second: there wasnt any info to inform us that general admission is standing room only. Just made for a long night of standing. Luckily, we were able to sit on a step for a bit before the show started. Third: the sound could have been better. The music was louder than the singer at times and also perhaps overloaded and mashed together.
We went to the Sunday Brunch Buffet. It was awesome!!! The food was great, as was the live gospel music. I would definitely recommend it and we will be going whenever we visit Myrtle Beach.
We had an awesome time here. When we got there literally seated almost immediately. Our server Lakedia was amazing they were fun and so helpful. We needed a date night and they made this a GREAT time! Their humor and overall helpfulness was ABOVE and BEYOND! We had the shrimp Po boy, the bbq wings, and Mac and cheese. When I tell you it was great I mean GREAT. The overall atmosphere and our server letting us take our time was just what we needed. The overall experience is more than 5 stars. Thank you house of blues we WILL BE BACK FOR MORE!
Absolutely loved House of Blues! My husband and I came in to get a small bite & drinks before the Nothing More and Bad Wolves show. We bought our tickets through Live Nation which also allowed us to purchase $20 meal tickets and gain early entry. The hostess sent us to the bar so we didnt have to wait on a table. Since there had not been an option to print these tickets they were only in my app. The bartender was new and asked the manager to come help with the transaction. He asked for my ID and went to get out actual tickets (the app says just to show them on the app) while we ate. When he came back, he had all four tickets and we were set. We were running late (our hotel had our room ready an hour late!) so we werent going to get in much earlier, but the staff at House of Blues did everything they could to take care of us. And the food was wonderful as well. The show was amazing and it is a perfect sized venue. Definitely want to come back some day!
Beautiful place, food is amazing. Singers were so graceful. Clean and cozy. So much history. Thank you for the memories. The Jackson/Timmons Family Reunion
We went to the gospel Sunday brunch. The food was great. Every type of breakfast food plus brisket, fish, shrimp, jambalaya, fried chicken and more. Bread pudding, cookies and Danish. We went in March which made reservations not needed. The young man singing gospel was very good, the waitress was attentive and friendly. Sounds like a 5 star, right? It would have been buti felt the 45$ charge was high. Also even though they charged 45.00$, only coffee and ice tea were included. Even hot tea was extra. Seemed a bit ridiculous to me.
We loved this place! Amazing food along with an amazing atmosphere!!! The drinks were so creative and delicious!! We all recommend this place for dinner and along with a amazing live music as well! Come!!
3 stars for the customer service by the security and servers not coming to the ADA section. Security was super rude yesterday at In This Moment. My husband and I were there with my brother in law who is Quadriplegic.Issue 1: The security was super rude about me being with my brother in law in the ADA section.Issue 2: They were convinced my husband, who looks much older than me and is almost 30, was under 21 and that I was over 21. Neither of us brought IDs because neither of us planned to drink.Issue 3: Servers BARELY came to the ADA section. I had to reach out to get one for my brother in law to start a tab for food and soda. The positives we that the rest of the staff was amazing and the music was phenomenal.
The Deck never disappoints. Tonights band was Chocolate Chip and Company, and they kept the place rockin!I had dinner, the Smashburger. The menu for the Deck is abbreviated but has enough items to satisfy your hunger. The Deck should definitely be on your food and entertainment list!
Band was awesome. Drove 4hrs just see the band playing.I am disabled. They made me move from a handicap seat after I had been sitting there for 1hr. because I was not on some handicap list. Nothing posted anywhere saying people with special needs are to be put on list for seats. Because they have a limited amount of handicap seats. Girl said i had to call box office to get on list. She was extremely rude and disrespectful. The first and last time going.
As locals, my husband and I have been to many shows at the House of Blues North Myrtle Beach. However this past week we went to 3 shows...4/25 - Falling in Reverse4/26 - Breaking Benjamin4/29 - The Cadillac ThreeWe had a great experience from beginning to end with all three nights. (Except trying to get ahold of Brandon over VIP. He never emailed or called us back)These staff members were ROCKSTARS though...Jesse & Laura at the box office were very friendly & helpful with us getting our tickets and explained Breaking Benjamin tickets were resale only through Live Nation and has to be purchased online.Even without the help of Brandon we were able to get a table for all three nights. Our waitresses were PHENOMENAL! I truly dont know how they do their job and fight the crowds with trays of food & drinks but Trish (Tuesday), Ally (Wednesday) and Macie (Saturday) were all so nice and constantly checked on us.The REAL MVP though is Alyx! She was there all 3 nights and was able to help us upgrade to a table each night! She not only was professional and helpful but she was sweet & friendly and came to check on us each night! By night 3 I had to get a picture with our new HoB friend! You can tell she definitely loves her job! She definitely deserves a lot for her above & beyond work ethic!I gotta give props to the security team too because they were on top of things for all three shows which made me feel safe!We love that House of Blues has been bringing back more rock shows and will definitely be back (as long as we can upgrade lol I cant handle a packed out house)
Went to the Blackberry smoke concert on 2/17 myself and my husband. The place was nice but overly packed. You could not enjoy show because of the amount of people. People were shoving and pushing to get past each other. I definitely believe it was at max capacity. While standing enjoying the show someone steals both t-shirts I had just purchased right out of the bag while we were not paying attention and trying to watch the show. Not the best experience. I would have loved to actually get to see the show but because of the amount of people no matter where you stood you were not seeing the show. Very expensive. One mixed drink and one beer was over $30. The issue with the amount of people in this small of a venue is you can’t get to a restroom, the bar or anywhere for that matter. The only good thing was that with all the madness everyone was very friendly! I will say I would not return due to my experience and we drove 4 hours to come to the show!
Very intimate venue not a bad seat in the house had a stool seat behind the pews upstairs Def recommend getting a pew seat instead great view
Enjoyed the show here. Medium- sized indoor concert venue.A little tightly packed for general admission shows. Nowhere to sit in the whole building unless you paid a premium. Standing in line to get merch is an ordeal as there just isnt enough space.
Great venue for live music. I saw Nothingmore with Crown The Empire. Unless you upgrade to a VIP package, all tickets are general admission, standing room only. Generally, there is no bad site lines. It is easy to move around to ensure you can see the stage. The venue size helps make the experience seem more intimate and the crowd connected to the band and the music. The upgrade VIP ticket can be a little pricey, but it skips the line and gets you your own table or seat with a dedicated server.
This place sux. If you dont offer take out as your website indicates you do, then update the dang website! And make sure the person who answers the phone knows you dont do that as well so I dont waste my time coming down there. Food wasnt even good. Just another TGI Fridays. Do better.
The food was amazing and the staff was great! Kivanc was very nice and made our day. Made our trip worthwhile, pay him a visit! He’s awesome.
The service is fantastic, especially if you have Ava! And the live music, Chocolate Chip, was perfect! Great vocals, songs you know and love, and they have the moves, makes you want to get up and dance 🎶
We attend the murder mysteries dinner theater. The food was delicious! It was a three course meal. House of Blues makes the best homemade ranch salad dressing. I want to definitely go back for just dinner. The show Murder Mysteries show was mediocre at best. The acting was lazy. One of the main characters stated their lines while sitting at the bar. The interaction between characters fell flat. It was difficult to watch. The murder scenes were portrayed poorly. It was hard to follow because of the way it was presented. They tried to have audiences participation, but I wasnt impressed by any of it. It was a one and done for me and my family. Considering that this MM was supposed to be going on for 15 years, you would think they would have better costumes, theatrics and story lines. Instead they were reading off papers/articles to present the plot. The theatrical part was nonexistent. No wonder they say all sales are final. But the food was good
Fantastic. Great service. Awesome band. Its a little pricey, but the whole experience is worth it. Its definitely a go-to place.
Food was not terrible. Should’ve been better.Loved the photographer Huthaifa! Personable and friendly fellow!
We visited last night and watched the Purple Madness show. We called ahead as my husband is a veteran and handicapped. Sarah took our call and was very friendly. She said we would have 1 chair in the ADA area and that I could stand with my husband. We go to shows at The Orange Peel in Asheville, NC regularly and they have a similar policy so we were happy with the promise of accommodation. It did not however turn out to be very accommodating. When we arrived, we were promptly acknowledged by a blonde female security officer who found our name on the list. While we were waiting, 4 women indicated they were on the ADA list but she did not have their names. She added them to the list. After being admitted to the venue, we went to the ADA area. Within minutes, the 4 women had invited 4-5 more people to join them in the ADA area. There was no security guard at the ADA entrance for the majority of the show.Initially I did not see anyone waiting on the area so I went to the bar and ordered drinks and food. I was asked to go back downstairs to retrieve my food. No big deal but when I returned it appeared that there were several servers in the area. 2 servers said that no one was assigned to the ADA area. There was a blonde waitress handling the VIP area near us. We asked her if she could help us get drinks and she said she was busy with a group of football players but she would be back. After about 8 more passes and 4 Ill be with you in a minute we went to the bar to request to speak to a manager. The bartender also said no one was assigned to the ADA area. The manager approached us and we relayed the situation. Including the fact that there appeared to be no one assigned to the ADA area. He said the blonde waitress was assigned to our area and said he would make sure she checked in with us. She did not in fact speak or make eye contact with us for the reminder of the evening. The server made it clear through her words and actions that she was concerned with the VIP area only. The manager clearly had no control over the servers. With my husbands injuries and chronic illness, he could be wheelchair bound but chooses to use a cane for limited walking. Had he been in a wheelchair, he would have had no way of seeing the stage from your ADA area. A point one of your security guards actually made. There was no effort to restrict the ADA area to those who went through the proper channels to sit there. There was no effort made to assist the ADA area patrons with food and beverage service. When leaving, the manager told my husband that he would address the service concerns with his staff. Barely an apology and nothing to impact our experience. It is obvious to me that customer service is not important to the House of Blues when they know a new group of tourists will be there tomorrow.
This was our first time here. Went to Gospel Brunch. Very good food. Our server Lakeida was very good. Bailey is going to be a great server. We enjoyed the music.
Great place to see shows. Been many times and this last time they went above and beyond as my daughter had recently had wrist surgery and her favorite artist was playing and we had tickets before said surgery and in order to not get bumped into they offered us to get in before the crowd with ADA service and it was very kind of them to care to make her experience enjoyable.
Went to the House of Blues Mystery Murder Dinner last night expecting a fun filled night with two other couples. Tickets were $75 per person. All of us were in agreement that it was a dissapointment and not worth the $$$. First, the audio in the venue was awful. So much so, that we could only understand bits and pieces of the story. Would highly recommend room acoustics and an improved PA system for this type of show. Could hear the actors better when their microphones would occasionally go out. I believe the actors were doing a good job----but the story line and clues, when we did find out what it was after the show, was sub-par. Definitely could have been done better. The food was ok. Salad, Chicken, mashed potatoes, carrots and a small key lime dessert. Servers were attentive and quick to serve each course. Drinks were cash bar and the price for wine was ridiculous ($13 plus tax for a cabernet that looked like a 4 oz pour but they claim was 6oz.)Overall, I feel like I wasted my money and evening on this show. Would not recommend it.
Cheryl was a great server! The oysters, seafood gumbo, brisket and the bread pudding were amazing! And the strawberry fields hit the spot with all the food ! 10/10 will be back
House of Blues was a great brunch stop for me and my family. We enjoyed the wonderful atmosphere and gospel music. The service and food were great as well. We’ll definitely be back!
The band was awesome! I had a margarita which cost $15.50, it was the worst margarita Ive ever had! It tasted like a double shot tequila on the rocks with lime. HORRIBLE DRINK!!!! Left there and found a fantastic margarita at Mr Fosters! Less than 1/2 the price
We were there for The Taste of the Coast which was a fund raiser for Risen Christ Christian Academy. It was a very well planned event at the House of Blues. And the restaurants were excellent. It was pretty cool - you paid an admission and then you paid via tickets you purchased to taste menu samples There was quute an assortment:; Chicken Pot Pie, Crab dip, carrot cake, Crab balls with Remoulade, Blue Crab Mac & Cheese, Jambalaya, Bread pudding with toffee sauce & Bourbon butter and other items. Plus there was a silent auction. It was a beautiful day so I hope they reached their goal!
My favorite place to go in north myrtle beach! Music will not disappoint and the restaurant is wonderful! Drinks are pricey so I would definitely recommend that you pregame!
Always a great experience when Miracle Max is playing the outside deck check them out you will not be disappointed also the food is pretty good and the service is great bartenders are really cool and eager to help you keep Rockin yall
Two part review as there is alot going on here and the venue section doesnt have its own Google maps location (which it should IMO).The restaurant & bar: The food here was great and so was the atmosphere. The restaurant has you standard Myrtle Beach menu of sea food mixed in with non seafood plus some specialty items thrown in. The restaurant flows into the out side seating area seamlessly which has live music on occasion. Great place for a weekend\weekday night on the town. The music venue: House of Blues is a smaller more intimate venue great for getting front stage for your favorite bands. Its standing area only unless you go to the balcony which is sometimes vip area and costs extra to have a table and seat. There is a bar on each side of what they call the dance floor which is located front and center of the stage. We saw Aim High, Senses Fail and Rise Against live here which was a blast.
I have eaten at a lot of restaurants and House of Blues is just average. No fireworks or excitement to their dishes, just basic food at slightly above average prices. One positive is their nightly entertainment (local band) playing covers - classic rock no original material. Friday night is perfect with a beer or glass of wine; the 60s music keeps you entertained.
While the food and drinks were a bit pricey, the staff was excellent! I had a bit of an issue but Alyx was able to help us out and we had a great time! Thanks to the awesome staff we will be back again😊
Do not buy the skip the line ticket for concerts....eat or drink at least $25 on the day of the event. Tell the waitress you need a line pass. Then get the drink of your choice (each person can carry 2 drinks in from the restaurant bar as long as your pour it into the To go cup they give you) and you can carry it straight in. Its cheaper than buying inside and you dont have to wait in the long line to get your first drink.
Izzy is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! I will make her the god mother to my first born child. She is actually the most amazing person that I have ever been in the presence of. You need to give her raise!
Soda & sweet tea is $4 each. Pricey for what you get. But where is it not? Love the look of the place & our server was awesome!
What an amazing brunch. Food was plentiful, wide assortment of breakfast, lunch, salads and deserts. Everything was fresh. Made to order omelets, beef carving station, and all the southern comforts you would expect and more. The Gospel Singers, with live band music, were fantastic, funny, charming!! Our waitress showed us all of her southern charm, really making our experience fantastic. I would highly recommend going to the Gospel Brunch to anyone!! We plan to make it an annual tradition when visiting!!!
We ate at the restaurant tonight and enjoyed everything! We shared the Carolina Mess appetizer which is French fries with pulled pork, jalapeños, cheese and gravy. It was delicious! I had the BBQ bacon smashed cheeseburger with fries and my wife had the Cajun Chicken pasta and her only complaint was that it wasnt spicy enough.. We recently moved here from Louisiana so we like food spicy! Frank was our server and he was the best! Hes on top of his game and very entertaining!! Well definitely be back but we have to have Frank again!!
Went to the Deck for drinks two times this week, service is super slow if you dont go straight up to the bar but the atmosphere is great and extremely relaxing, they always have live music and happy hour is from 6-7. The waitresses are very nice. We also did the mystery dinner, $188 for 4 people, but its tons of fun. You get a Three-course meal and its a really cool way to eat dinner, interactive and funny. The food is super good, too. This is our second time doing it and we enjoyed both a lot. They have a new show every month.
Great venue, very clean, drink prices were reasonable inside the venue. The restaurant is great! The jambalaya is amazing.
No Blues music which was a surprise as we expected authentic blues music to accompany the decor and franchise signature. Fair customer service. Reasonable pricing. Good variety of food and drinks. Few vegetarian or Vegan Options. Good mushroom tacos after requesting no feta & no lime crema while adding guacamole salsa! Also ordered the cajun chicken pasta & NY Strip.
We went to the Murder Mystery on March 23rd. You could not hear the actors talking even with the microphones. It was so loud in the room. The people running the event did a poor job controlling the crowd. The food was bland and dry. The servers were really good.
My husband and I attended the gospel brunch and it was amazing. Our waitress was great.
I attended a birthday party there, the food was amazing, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I love the aviance of that place, they had to flick the lights on us to make us go home, its very warm and inviting there, I wish I had one in my area I would use them for every event.
We have came here several times in the past for their Gospel Brunch and decided to come again on the 21st of January. What a let down 🥴. The entertainer for this particular day, crew members didnt show up and he ended up being a one man show. He was a great singer, but I was disappointed we didnt get the full Gospel Brunch experience. The buffet was less desirable. There wasnt much to choose from and there wasnt anyone there checking the stations, wiping things down, or refilling them. And dont get me started on the guy working the omelette station ☹️. It was obvious he had no idea what he was doing. My omelette was completely charred and he still placed it on my plate 😦. I would have asked him to make me another but a line formed behind me and I decided not to make a fuss. I should have though. For $42 a person, I was expecting it to be much better than what it was. Because in the past, it had been. Doesnt matter if its off season or not. Management needs to do better and hire someone who actually knows how to make omelettes 😒.I would not return and would not recommend to family or friends. Just go to Johnnys D down the street.
The gospel brunch here was great! Buffet runs from 9-1 with live music. The photographer Yunus took a wonderful picture of our family!
60.00 to stand up during the whole concert. No bar stool to sit, nothing. If you want to sit its 100, for vip seating. The drinks are overpriced and the bar food is too. If I wanted to stand up in a corner and watch a band on TV I could have done it for free at home. I say watch on TV because ypu cant see the stage unless you get a vip seat or a lucky spot. Never will we come back.
Service was great. Arrived around 430 and sat inside and ordered food. It was good but I would not order what I ordered again. We went out to the outside bar when they opened at 6 and watched Thomas Road. Happy hour is from 6-8pm on the outside deck. Unsure what it is on the inside. But great otherwise.
Good food, good folks, good fun! I thoroughly enjoyed The House of Blues MB. Our server, Cheryl Blue, was phenomenal and made our brunch time most enjoyable! Please give her a raise!!!!
Place was awesome. Would have like the jambalaya to have been a bit of a bigger portion, but it was so good 👍. More blues music please.
The Billy Joel tribute here. It was raining that night and surprisingly they didnt open the doors. So people were standing in the rain. Lucky we werent. Probably because we got there early and had bought seats, so werent in the general admission line. The venue was average, thought it would have better sound. The show itself was disappointing as well way too much bass and acoustic guitar.
Great place for some free live music on the deck with good drinks and plenty of beer choices. We had the brisket sandwich and the large pretzel
My husband and I along with some friends including one of which is a friend of the guys in Shinedown went to Myrtle Beach to see them in concert at the House of Blues. The inside of HOB is so funky with all the random artwork on the walls and watching the staff prepare for the night was cool to see how much goes in to getting the place set up and how well everyone works together. One of the things I noticed is that during the show Security guards along the front of the pit were passing out cups of ice water to the concert goers that were packed in. We were in the VIP room and had a security guard and waitress that was checking in with us both of which were upbeat and cool people. If you get the opportunity to take in a show definitely splurge on the good seats!
The gospel brunch here has to be the best brunch in Myrtle Beach. The grits made by Ms. Lisa have to be the best grits I’ve had, the biscuits were phenomenal, the meats were superb, and the music was great as well. Our server Lakita (apologies for the spelling) was awesome and shared some of the history of the House of Blues with us. We continue to come back here with family and enjoy it every time.
We are vacationing in Myrtle Beach. We came to the restaurant . The food is great...but we were really impressed by the kindness of the staff especially Samantha! She is such a devoted, plaisant and funny worker ! Bravo Samantha! … et tu te souviens de ton français!
Great food, great environment, great music and great people. 10 out of 10 highly recommend.
Sooooo...we went for a concert...DeD, Black Veil Brides and In This Moment. Its a small venue by comparison but thats what makes it so great. You can see the bands, the crowd noise is deafening but its so much fun! I recommend keeping an eye on their roster of bands and if you see one you like....GO.
Gospel brunch exceeded expectations. Music was great, food was excellent (large selection and high quality) and our server, Cheryl Blue, was outstanding.,
I attended my first concert at the House of Blues Myrtle Beach in 2018, I am disabled and use a wheelchair and the reserved handicap seating was on the the balcony over the stage, which was no problem since they have an elevator, the view was incredible the staff was incredible, but fast forward to this year, I attended my second concert at the House of Blues Myrtle Beach, and again the staff was great and we were seated in the same section, however they have since turned the handicap seating on the balcony into VIP seating, and we were sat behind the the now VIP seating which we overheard one of the persons in VIP seating bragging that they spent $500 a piece on their tickets, I have attached a picture of the view I had sitting in the handicap seats, behind the now VIP seats, I couldnt see anything except the corner of the stage, am I the only one that thinks this is wrong and unacceptable that wealthy people take priority over disabled people?
Great Venue for live music. I love the outside deck with free shows and reasonable drink prices. My only complaints are they have too many tribute bands in the music hall and the drink prices are pretty high over there. Overall, it is a great place and the best place to see live music since the Purple Gator shut down and the Pirates Cove got new owners.
Awesome place! Great music and food. Staff was great and had an amazing time.
I want to Thank the Staff for the absolute amazing care that I received while attending the Plush, Nonpoint and Seether Show on September 30, 2021.I had a medical emergency and was able to find an employee who got me outside and took care of me.They were the best !!I would love to know the names of everyone who helped me. You ALL went above and beyond with the care and genuine concern for me and my family.
Meet with Diane in events. She was very professional and easy to work with. An amazing place to celebrate and have an event.
Our waitress Cheryl Blue was absolutely AWESOME! Thank you for your professionalism! When I come back Im asking for your section..
Yesterday the 24th of February 2024 was my first time ever at the House of Blues, the tribute band that was playing was awesome. The drinks on the other hand were very expensive and the Liquor was extremely watered done. Im not some cheap kind of person, but when I get a drink and pay $13 a piece , I expect a real good drink and not in a 6oz. Cup.
We had a perfect dinner at House of Blues! Our waitress had the best personality and told us about the history and motif of the restaurant. I was surprised that Dan Aykroyd was the owner. The food was delicious. We were encouraged to each get something different and no one was disappointed. This is a must see/eat at Myrtle Beach and will become part of our yearly tradition.
It was awesome. Staff was super helpful. VIP club is the way to go. Gets you in quick and easy. Staff was kind and early willing to help.
I got the Cajun shrimp bowl, and it was incredible!! The jalapeno corn bread is also AMAZING!!
Loved this place! Sat at the bar while we waited for a table. Friendly staff and we didnt have to wait on drinks. The food was amazing! I had the pulled pork sandwich. The Memphis sauce was my favorite, but my sister in law and fiance both loved the Carolina sauce. Rest of the family had tacos, family fried chicken platter, ribs, and pulled pork. All of them had glowing reviews of their meals. Loved the atmosphere. Outside had live music. Definitely a highlight of our vacation!
Attended the Cheney Brothers mixer party. The bar was completely understaffed. It took 40min to get out first beer. The band that played the main stage was cheesy and overproduced. Food was cold that was being passed. Only thing that got it to 2 stars was the band playing the small outdoor stage in the back. They should have been on the main stage. If I could rate just that band it would be 5 stars. Give those boys a raise.
Amazing food and amazing service and the photographer Petra was Great! She took amazing pics of us!
The food was delicious! I got the fried chicken, my sister got the grilled chicken sandwich and my mom got the ribs. Our waitress, Amanda was awesome. She made sure our first time at this restaurant was enjoyable. We went out on the deck for live music after dinner. Great entertainment and drinks. Our waitress on the deck, Macie was also awesome. She made sure to ask my sister for the pronouns she identify with.
Great food!!!Great fun and the staff is top notch!!!Look up the photographer Emir was awesome!!!!Enjoy your time there 🤩🤩🤩
10/10 would recommend to everyone. Food was amazing, but the photographer/photographs were even better!
We stopped in to watch a local band and it was a pretty good venue. Not enough seating as we had to stand and wait through the first set but then it opened up. It was free to the public and they had food available up to about 9 pm. The bar was open with a good variety of drinks to choose from. I recommend coming early of you want to get a seat for the whole evening.
Its a nice small venue. The only thing I didnt like is the up charge to get seats
We went to the Gospel Brunch on Sunday around 11:30am. We got seated right away and got a front seat to the stage that was nice. We had a lot of fun watching the band and we even got to participate in the singing. The crowd was very supportive of all the volunteers. During the show we got up to pick out food. The buffet had a lot of room and felt comfortable. There were plenty of food options for brunch. All your normal breakfast items plus savory, fish, chicken, and roast beef. My favorite item was the chocolate toffee cookies!!! So good!
Great place to watch tribute bands. We asked for ADA seating and ended up in the balcony area on the left side and missed seeing half the band.
Loved the food, loved, loved the waitress. And great tunes. Best H OB yet
Gospel brunch: the singers/entertainment portion gets 5 stars. They were absolutely phenomenal. The food, however, is where Im giving the 3 stars. The last time we were here (10+ years ago) we were blown away by the food. I remember it being set up in the kitchen and the selection was overwhelming, not to mention absolutely delicious. That was not the case today. The chicken and waffles, the tenders werent even hot. The croutons in the salad were completely soggy. The buffet itself didnt seem like it was being refreshed well. For $40 a person, we werent very impressed.
Valarie was great! Very nice and great with photos… food was amazing as well! Highly recommend!!
Great venue. Grouchy bartender but overall a good experience. Beverage prices were in line with other concert venues. Will definitely return.
