I almost gave 3 stars out of respect for the manicurist I saw 6 weeks ago, who was quite good. However, my experience today was abysmal. Weeks ago, what I appreciated about the establishment was the efficiency and the long lasting result. I was the first patron to arrive at 10 AM on a Sunday, was immediately attended to, and had my first set of UV gel nails placed by a woman I thought might be the owner. She was gifted. Within 15 minutes, she had my nails prepped and completed to perfection. There was very little time spent on massage or lotion - no frills so to speak - but I’m not someone who likes spending 90 minutes in a nail salon, so I appreciated the swiftness. They did add a surcharge for paying with a card, so I told myself that next time I would walk in with cash. I did not encounter the common complaint of harassment for tips, because I routinely tip 25 to 30% for people in the service industry. This is why it’s hard for me to pan an establishment when there are clearly staff members who work hard and depend on this place for income, but I think this business will probably require new management within a year.Today however, was a different and disappointing experience. My pedicure was fine, although priced at $35, I’m sure most patrons would not be pleased with the 30 second-per-leg “massage.” She worked some lotion onto my legs and slapped my calves and foot soles a few times. Voila, massage completed. Personally, I like to be in and out, but if you’re looking for a spa treatment, you’re not going to buy it at the $35 price point here.Removing the existing UV gel from my fingernails seemed to be problematic for the staff. The woman performing the pedicure tried to remove the UV gel with regular polish, after I twice said it was gel. When she brought me to the manicure station, another woman proceeded to remove the gel with an acrylic burr. I’ve worked with acrylic for years and have often burned my fingernails with these drills. Not pleasant. I had to pull my fingers back from the manicurist, wincing in pain three times. (I’m the type of patron that will more likely bite my tongue because I don’t want to make someone feel bad for hurting me, but my nails felt like fire - I pulled back reflexively). Admittedly, I’ve only had UV gel removed once before, at Cleopatra nails on Blackrock Turnpike in Fairfield. There, they soaked my fingertips in a solution for several minutes, and it seemed to come off very easily as a paste in one fell swoop. My nails didn’t feel damaged. Today, my nails were wrapped in aluminum foil with acetone, and the gel was mechanically scraped off and then drilled. When I told the woman I wanted to switch to a regular manicure because my nails needed a break, she said my nails were too thin and had to be coated with gel. I was getting a little frustrated and asked again for a basic manicure with a clear coat. After she conceded, she merely said, “Pay first.” I was charged $54 total (cash discount, $35 pedi, $19 mani). I tipped $15 total, which is about 28% of the total fee, and the manicurist had the audacity to ask if this was for both services! Okay lady, now you’re just pushing my buttons and I suppose this corroborates other patrons’ accounts, but I merely nodded and smiled :)When I returned to her station, she put one coat of clear polish on my nails and told me to head to the drying station. My nails were already dry - it was a base coat. You can see the results in the pic. I was pretty surprised they let me walk out like this. But at seven months pregnant, I’m past the point of caring. I do think it warrants a review so that other patrons can understand what they’re walking in to. Not sure I should give that other lady another try… her initial gel did last 3 weeks despite my nail biting. And they did give me a $5 coupon today when they saw me leaving in a hurry.
I’ve gone to smiley nails several times and the prices continue to go up and the quality down. Two weeks ago, i went to get my nails done prior to going on vacation. In less than a week, and while on vacation, my Gel nails started to chip and eventually peeled all the way off (see pic). I paid an extra $8 for organic nail polish. This happened to my friend as well. She did not get organic polish. I’m extremely disappointed.
DISHONEST and lack integrity! I asked for a regular pedicure and they asked if I wanted any specialty pedicures or add on and I stated no. I was asked again and said no thank you. At the end, I went to pay and they charged my card FIRST and THEN showed me my charge and it was for the add on services I stated that I didn’t want. I said I should not have these charges and they said “sorry next time we won’t charge you but today we are because we did callous removal” which I told them I didn’t want. Unbelievable and unscrupulous!!!!!!!! That is stealing!!!! And dishonest. I would never return! Ever
Terrible service, neglected to notify me of an additional charge for removing old gel polish until check-out. The pedicure was mediocre and the gel manicure was even worse. Had them done on Friday and the pedicure is already chipping, so is the gel manicure. Obviously the nails were not treated and prepped properly, so the nail polish is not sticking and peeling away. Worst experience ever.
Horrible experience and will not be returning. Not only my manicure chipped already since Saturday, but I asked for my toes to be squared and this disappointed me a lot. Not only it came out horrible but they were so ruff doing my whole service (mani, gel pedi & eyebrows) to a point where I have told them that it hurts me and even jumped a few times during my waxing session. They don’t even give the nice short massages with lotion like before for the services and i was there for a little over 2 hours. Don’t recommend, save yourself the time & money.
My first time here and I gave tips to the lady who did the manicure and tips to the guy for pedicure. She was harassing me asking for more tips! Saying give more tips more tips!! WHAT? Is she serious? I tip whatever i feel comfortable with! Never coming back here! Plus 7 dollars just for paying with credit card. Ridiculous!
As I sit here, in real time, i still have not been greeted. Acknowledged for that matter. Understanding there are 3 techs in here at the moment, no one has said ONE word, or even made eye contact. Ive been waiting for about 30 mins.A nice customer comes in and says hello to me and i express my frustrations. She makes a comment aloud and still silence. Even after the dialog the staff comes over “confused” like that wasn’t the case. language wasn’t an issue because when finally recognized the tech spoke english. Very annoyed with the service here.
This place offers a cleanly modern and relaxing environment! The staff was very attentive, and my manicurist was great & careful.
I just went for pedicure and which is 30$. And that guy didn’t even do proper cutting nor removed cuticle 😵💫 and coming to billing I have only American exp card and she said they don’t acceptHaving only 33$ cash in hand. So I paid and started demanding for tip. I said I don’t even want to tip anymore and she started yelling with other colleaguesI was really mad at them so I just dropped the left over balance which I had. And there is no one who understands English and she’s talking to me in their own language and yelling at me & showing attitude by saying we did pedicure and you giving me $2 by keeping angry face. This is so baddddd
No good didn’t like how I was handled the lady Julie was rough, she made me bleed & nipped me a couple times. She was upset & had an attitude because I wanted to change my color. I asked for French on my toes & she painted them all white. Then they bullied me for a tip when I was paying, which wasn’t even worth my experience. Just money hungry. And I didn’t even get acrylic on my real nails just gel, I told her not to cut my natural long nails short & she DID what she wanted to do like she didn’t understand me or something & she did what she wanted instead & I just got plain polish on my toes everything was almost $100 not going back first & last time. She didn’t even massage me right like she was rushing to get me out the door. Plus I’m pregnant. They don’t care about you just care about your hard working money.
This was my first time in this nail salon. The experience was not as pleasant as I would have hoped. My friend and I went in for a mani and pedi. Where can I start? We started off getting a mani. Conversation with my friend was hard when you have to talk over the people that are doing your nails. Our manis lasted less than 10 min. Then we went off to our pedis. Although service was ok, not the greatest. I chose a package the cost me $65 for my pedi. The lady that did my mani and pedi was rushing. Then her massages were painful. I don’t think for what I paid I got good service . The worst of it all, they tried talking me into taking money out of a ATM machine so I can pay less because they charge $5 extra to use your credit card and $2 to take money out the ATM they have in the salon. Now I refuse to take the cash out and knew I was going to deal with the extra $5 they took out of my pay. Now I thought that was the tip she took out. No! She made sure I had to pay my lady more tip because the extra $5 they took off was not enough. Oh and can I say they charged my friend $8 extra on her card for paying with her card as well. Tell me how does that make sense? I feel like I got scammed. I will never go back. For my first time being there I was not impressed or happy the way they took advantage of my friend and I and our credit cards.
For the people who’s saying about how bad the nail looks & how horrible. Will your wrong. Because they do a great job. And did I also mention they do train new people who got hired. And the reason they ask to tip a little higher is because they take their time to do your nails
I went today to get a pedicure, first time and last. I was helped by a young man who it was very polite and friendly, but unfortunately it was also his first day on the job. He tried his best, but it was not a good pedicure. The more experienced lady who took me first decided to get up and leave it to him to do it. I am very disappointed. They should train their new employees before giving them clients.
I dont normally do this, but Im highly upset with this facility. FIRST, they charged me $100 for a new UV gel set.. i did not say anything considering thats very expensive for a new set with NO DESIGN. Ive been getting UV gel sets for years!!!! SECOND, not even a week later i have 2 broken nails exactly where the tip attaches... While during my appointment, my finger hit the machine inside while drying and instead of the lady being nice and saying thats ok, we can fix it. she gave me an attitude and threw her brush down on the table so angry LOL. DO NOT EVER USE THIS PLACE
I came in here 2 weeks ago and spoke to a “manager” by the name of Jessica regarding a gift certificate purchased as a gift with the prior owner. She told me that the gift card would be honored. Because of that I then purchased another for the same person. When she came to redeem to old one she was told she needed to see the manager during the week not on the weekend. My mothers goes back on a Tuesday to then be told they will not accept the gift certificate. I went in personally to speak to the same person who immediately became defensive and started raising her voice. And proceeded to say o I forgot to say if it’s not on the list I can’t accept it! She would not even allow me to speak. I would have never spent another $200 with this business. She should have been completely honest instead of lying! The sign posted is below also! Nothing about it says there’s a list!
Spacious location, fast service, clean and organized. Great, smooth shape on powder set manicure.
Staff is alway kind and friendly but Kevin has always gone above and beyond in service and I had to make sure I gave him a great review. Thanks for being fantastic.
This nail shop is spacious, comfortable and tidy. The staff are very friendly. This is a very good experience. I will come again next time!

They are very professional, friendly and clean! In the past when I have been in a rush, they got me out of there in time. But I usually take my time and enjoy it.
