Cool bar with a comic theme there’s a nice little upstairs patio in the back it’s kinda hidden but super cute out there great place for groups they have some couches too.

The bartenders are chill, super good vibes, great conversation, & absolutely have your back. The space is clean, cool, & the furniture is well maintained & gorgeous. The crowd was minimal, so it felt safe. This spot deserves all the success! Really good music, too. Jam after jam.

Love the comic book theme which played out well with the menu but thought the actual interior design could do some work. felt like some of the comic pieces were just thrown in there with no real care and better lighting needed. too bright for a nighttime bar.drinks were amazing. widows kiss was so good with the tajin on the side of the cup.

Super delicious drinks, expensive though, food is basic and youre better off finding some nearby. Decor is simple but only hints at comics doesnt really feel like a comic book space

Super nice bartenders, good food, love the design of the place. Drinks were smooth. Great for getting together with a big groups of friends.

We had two beers on a Sunday afternoon. They really could use this space for a great beer bust, especially because they have a back patio. I do wish the upstairs bar was open when they were directing most customers up there like today. Because it was self service at the time, we had to walk up and down with drinks, a little unwieldy if you ask me. Overall we had a good, chill time and the staff were nice but we didnt interact with them much. I guess it was for everyones protection and cant blame them.

- overpriced drinks - why am I paying $35 for a shot and a seltzer?- fight broke out at the club the second we got in , the crowd was much younger and not very sophisticated- paid a $20 cover for music you can’t dance to. Overall not a great experience. If you’re looking be to have a good time, def recommend another club with Afrobeat or better music.

Delicious cocktails. The El Bromelista is yummm. Paper Plane was good too, though a bit heavy on the citrus

Went here after a concert at the Fox Theater. Nice vibe, cool music, good drinks. Crowd was 20s-30s mostly and very chill, just out to have a good time. Parking is always a challenge. We parked a few blocks away & had a nice walk to and fro.

This is a super cool bar and I used to come here quite a bit before SIP.Reasons why you should go:1) The venue: its trendy, huge, comic book themed, 2 mezzanines, 2 stories, booths and plenty of table/chairs, and a non-smoking patio. Perfect for hosting events.2) Happy hour (HH) from 5-7pm3) My all time favorite cocktail Old Fashioned is on tap for $5 during HH. A dream come true! I order 2-3 and Im lit for the night.4) Catering from Xolo. The menu consists of tacos, burritos, and chips/dip. Order the Camarones (battered fried shrimp) taco and gauc and chips.5) 2 minute walk from the bar to19th street bart station6) You run into fellow Yelpers when you check in.Cheers!

Good drinks, great staff, and some food to boot. Dont really get much of a comic book theme unless I crane my neck to be honest.

Fun cocktails and the bartenders are friendly! It was pretty quiet when we went (around 7-10PM) but I imagine it picks up later. The patio was nice, but not super well lit

Bar tender served us flat champagne and when I told him he said “I know” and did not offer a new glass —said they change it out every 48 hours

Large, bi-level bar with a nice rooftop patio. Cheap cocktails ($12 including tax), and apparently you can order tacos that come from Xolo just next door. Ideal for large groups.

My friend and I went there for happy hour on the roof deck. The bartender virtually ignored us although there were only two customers in the giant space. He pointed out the stairs to the roof deck, never gave us menus and when we came down, first to get menus, and then drinks, would not bring the drinks upstairs. He was so rude that we left,which is too bad because we live in the neighborhood and although we are older like to go out for dinner and drinks.

Delicious cocktails and beers with some yummy Mexican food they manage to get you from next door. Cool superhero/supervillain decor.

Its a perfect place to enjoy some cocktails and get relaxing after work!! Seems lonely, because I came on Monday.

Drinks were fantastic. Bartenders were friendly, attentive, and fun. Fun comic book theme. It definitely got really loud though - music and people. I prefer a more mellow ambiance so that I dont have to shout to have a conversation. Not my scene, but it is popular.

Came here on a Monday night. Upon arrival we had to show our vaccination cards This place is nicely designed with a comic theme. Drinks were tasty 😋, if you would like to come here on the weekend place your RSVP early. This place is great place to host events as well. Did I mention their roof-top?

Beautiful rooftop area, fairly plentiful seating. As long as youre outside, it could be a nice little date spot.Ordered mushroom as well as Al pastor quesadillas. Really delicious!Parking is not too bad since for downtown Oakland. Important tip: leave NOTHING in your car to minimize the risk of break ins.

Huge open space with a nice patio. The drinks were delicious and reasonably priced.

I wish I liked this place more because I do love comics but I do not feel enough of a comic book vibe to call this a comic book themed bar. Other than the vibe the drinks are actually pretty decent and the place is spacious which is a definite plus. I say you go check it out to see if it is for yourself, personally there are plenty other places that have cooler vibes in my opinion

Overall, It was a pretty good bar. I went on a Thursday and they only had one bartender, so service was kind of slow, other than the wait the drinks were good.

Love this place, great spot for a pre-show drink at The Fox. One issue, though, is when we were there there was only one bartender which, when making multiple mixed drinks makes for a long wait.However, those cocktails were damned good.

Cool atmosphere to relax on a Thursday evening after getting off work from a busy and loud bar. Cocktail was really good and priced reasonably. Definitely a good date night spot to relax and talk.

I have been to First Edition twice and enjoyed the vibes but the bar staff are scammers. I ordered 2 drinks, closed my tab to only get a $70 charge for 2 $13-18 drinks.Check your tab twice and never leave it open.Will not be going back!

Chill environment for some drinks in the early evening with friends. Music is good while allowing for conversation. Drinks are on point; I highly suggest the Widow’s Kiss.

Cool decor, comfy bar stools, and pop up for from Xolo. Whats not to love? We went in early and it was pleasantly not crowded. Our drinks were good. Ill definitely be back.

Dillon is an incredible bar keep! Great drink, and great conversation. I ordered a quesodilla from theyre pop up kitchen and ot was one of if not the best chicken quesodilla ive had jn my life.
