For the gluten free peeps, I was really excited to see they had gluten-free buns. Im not celiac, so I cant comment on that process. I havent come across to many gluten-free burger options. The burgers were good! A little pricey, but definitely a great place to hangout with some friends. The waiter was soooooooo nice! Id go back.
Pappy McGregors came straight out of left field to be THE stand-out stop during our trip to Paso Robles. It outshined more expensive, excellent food & drink spots with reservations. Equal parts casual pub with big portions, and fancy cocktails & mocktails.Do yourself the favor - Dont skip out on Pappys.Do be prepared to take a nap afterwards though.
We had dinner here last night and it was a blast! Delicious bar food, great drinks (I love my cocktail), and the service was absolutely outstanding. We had the fish and chips, and the twice baked potato skins. Both exceeded our expectations. Everyone we encountered the entire evening, from the host initially, to the wait staff, was incredibly friendly! We decided to go into the quieter room, but we could still hear them use it, and it was great. The people in the louder room, closer to the music, seems to be having wonderful time. This is the perfect fun, high energy bar for a night out!
If you want a sensational New England Clam Chowder youll come here. Pappy McGregors knocked it out of the park! The creamy soup had perfectly cooked chunks of clam and topped with crumbly bacon which reminded me why the phrase everything is better with bacon exists! I paired it with their incredible corned beef tacos. The appetizer of roasted brussel sprouts with balsamic and goat cheese started what I consider to be the best lunch Ive ever eaten!!!
Best Food for Late night arrivals into Paso Robles! Great service! Naomi was awesome, so sweet & patient with my many “personalizations” of their menu 😂 Local place, watermelon basil hit the spot after a LONG drive up from LA & the Steak & Shrooms definitely worth waiting to eat till we hit town! Also has 2 “Pappy Hours” weekdays 3-6 & Sundays-Thursday 9-11pm… and late night snacks on Friday & Saturday 10pm -1am (but I haven’t been able to stay up that late yet). Our Favorite local spot on the way to the Lake!
Ended up ordering the short rib jalapeno burger. You could taste the short ribs but not to much of anything else for seasoning or even spice from the peppers. Stopped in there 4-5 days earlier and had an old fashion and wasnt every impressed there either. Nice smaller spot though with a good patio area, plenty of tvs with sports on and good service all around. If stop for a whiskey or beer but that would be about it.
My wife and are frequently in beautiful Paso Robles. Because it has so many wonderful things to see and do throughout the year. The one thing that we know we can on no matter what time of the year though is Pappy McGregors. The servers are so nice, the atmosphere is comfy and love and the food is always...Amazing!!Thats why we just keep coming back!
Great little spot in the center of town to grab appetizers. We sat on the back patio which is very quaint and comfortable. We ordered nachos and buffalo wings which were both delicious and good portions to share. We were there midday and it wasn’t too busy which was surprising on a Saturday. Our server while very polite was not very attentive. We sat for almost 20 minutes after finishing our apps before he resurfaced to bring us our check. All considered it was worth the stop in.
We were there on a Saturday evening just for drinks and some dancing. This place is all out fun. The two bar front setup is great and the crowd is there for a good time. Bar tenders were also fantastic and remembered everyones drink order throughout the night.A dance floor, good drinks, and blasting music makes this place a must-go-to for anyone looking for some evening fun.
I recently dined at this fantastic restaurant and had an unforgettable experience. The highlight of my meal was the Man Salad – an incredibly hearty and flavorful dish that exceeded all my expectations. It was perfectly balanced, with fresh, crisp vegetables and a generous portion of savory protein. Truly a culinary masterpiece!I must also commend our waiter, Noah, who made the day even more enjoyable. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and incredibly personable. Noahs recommendations were spot on, and his friendly demeanor added a special touch to our dining experience.Overall, a five-star visit thanks to the delicious food and exceptional service. Highly recommend!
Everything we ate here was amazing! The drinks were on point and priced fairly. We had the Reuben, one with garlic fries and one with a salad, both sides were so good and the corned beef was tender and tasted fantastic! We also had the short rib jalapeño burger that tasted great but was also spicy hot (we like spice and this is on the spicier side).
Wow! Great food!! Cool Irish pub type vibe. Everything was delicious! Calamari was a sizable portion, crispy/crunchy, not rubbery either. I got their Reuben, nice crunch on the bread, meat was juicy, nice balance of flavors. Hubby got the burger, he loved it especially since they would cook it rare. Simple but tasty salad as a side. Service was fast and friendly despite being a very busy Friday night. Tables were comfortably spaced too with CoVid regulations. It was a bit pricey, close to $100. But we did get an appetizer, 2 entrees, and 2 beers. But it definitely felt worth the price with a great experience overall.
This is my jam. Always happy with the service and food. Its hard to branch out to other items on the menu but everytime I do I dont regret it. Great beer, great food, great service, great way to spend my time.
Great road stop on our way through Paso Robles. My wife swears their Chicken BLTA is the best she’s ever had. I had the chilli and 1/2 Reuben this time. It was very good and so were the fries. Good solid ice tea and put us back on the road. We’ll see you on our next trip through.
Cool spot with good people and a great vibe. The food was good. I ordered the meatloaf; I don’t like meatloaf, but it’s on the menu so I thought it would change my mind. It didn’t, but I can see why people would like it. The glaze on it was good so I scraped it off onto my mashed potatoes. The garlic green beans were really good. The famous calamari was also really good.
Well there is way to much to say about this place!!! First the cocktails!!!! They have plenty of alcohol in them!!! Then the sweet potato fries!!! One word. Addicting.... then the Chopped salad. Was refreshing and plentiful with a ton of blue cheese flavor and enough to feed 2... the third item was the pub nachos... 2 words.. not impressed, 3 tablespoons of meat!!! Really!!! Chips didn’t have much flavor!! Wouldn’t order that again!! We had cucumber margarita and Bloody Mary!!! I will definitely go back! Service was 5 stars. Our tab was $66. We left happy!!! And waitress was on point, never had to ask for anything! Left her a $20 tip...
Food: 4/5Service: 4/5Ambiance: 3/5Overall: Good food in a bar setting. The extended review...Food:Chicken Pot Pie - 4/5 - Great flavor and well proportioned fillings. It was a decent sized entree and I was very much full after eating it.Service: 4/5 - Friendly and attentive staff.Ambiance: 3/5 - The setting was definitely more bar/pub like.
The bartender over-charged. I enquired about it, and after examining the bill, he refunded $9 plus tax. The over-charged amount was $12 plus tax, but he didnt want to discuss it further and I chose to not belabor the issue. I do regret leaving a 30% tip. Food and ambience were good.
Fun spot to grab a cocktail or beer with some great bar eats! Sat in the bar area at a high top table. Service from the two bartenders were top-notch. Ordered right away drinks came out perfect, one Mezcal Mule for me with Tajin rim👌. Started with cheese and bacon covered tater tots, those carried a distinct cheese flavor that was delicious with every crunchy bite. The group also tried fried pickles that had a salty, sweet fried taste that EVERYONE enjoyed. I will end my review with FRIED CHICKEN SANDWICH!!! Super crispy with a savory sweet experience in each bite. A side of garlic fries made it all worth the trip.
Called ahead to make sure they had gluten free/celiac safe options for 2 people in our group. We were assured the menu would be properly labeled, etc. Nothing was labeled on the menu with the except of a gluten free bun. Our server tried to tell us the fries were gluten free and when I told her we have celiacs and can’t have fries unless they have a dedicated fryer we were told “fair enough but they’re gluten free.” We opted for side salads instead of fries, when my side salad arrived, it had croutons on it…after I said I had a gluten allergy MULTIPLE times. Burger was overcooked, NY strip was covered in char. Overall, the server was decent and the atmosphere was nice but it didn’t feel like our allergy was taken seriously and the food was mediocre at best. There were plenty of better options in town.
Great craft cocktails paired with unexpectedly incredible food in a pub setting. Although the prices seem high at first glance, the servings are enormous and the high quality more than justify the numbers. I fell hopelessly for the lobster mac and cheese, and the tuna melt was excellent. Truffle fries could have used more truffle flavor, but its hard to complain about much else. Awesome spot!
Love this place! The vibe and atmosphere are awesome and the food is even better! Their burgers are delicious and their salads are huge and yummy. We love Pappy’s!
During an overnight stay in Paso Robles, my spouse and I took a walk downtown and decided to sample the food at this local pub. The person who checked us in had a lovely smile that my spouse said seemed very genuine. I enjoyed the back patio, my spouse and I had an eBook and read to each other while we waited for our food. I have to say I was disappointed by the sparse offerings in non-alcoholic drinks. Mocktails hold no interest for me, so I stuck with water. I had the blackened fish, which was flavorable, but the accompanying vegetables were overcooked, especially the asparagus, a pity because asparagus is one of my favorite vegetables. My spouses cottage pie was overly salted. My spouses summation is that it was standard pub food at inflated prices because of its location on the town square.
I love the brussel sprouts they are so crispy and delicious!! We sat outside under the lights and it was really great!! Their salads and meats are also really tasty! I will definitely be here again!
We travel 2 hours from out of town just to eat and drink in this awesome pub. The food is consistently fantastic, great selection of local brews, fun and friendly staff, and awesome merch to boot! Recommend to anyone who finds themselves in Paso Robles
Pappy McGrrogor’s provided an exceptional dining experience. The standout was the Cub Salad, featuring fresh greens, ripe tomatoes, tender grilled salmon, and a tangy vinaigrette. The ambiance was inviting, and the service was top-notch. Highly recommended!
The hostess seated immediately. Our server Stacy was fantastic. The Prime Rib Chili Nachos were delicious as were the Pretzel Fondue. The real star of the food tonight was the Corned beef Ruben! I swear it was the best Ruben that Ive ever tasted. The corned beef was tender and juicy, the house made pickled cabbage was fantastic and the was toasted to perfection. Seriously the best Ruben that Ive ever had. Great job. Highly recommend this restaurant.
The food was fresh and delicious. Naomi was prompt and very helpful with our order. I was worried when she didn’t write down our changes to our orders but everything came exactly how we ordered it.
The food here at Pappys is the best in town! I had the chicken BLTA and it was full of flavor and the sourdough was toasted to perfection. I was pleasantly surprised by the fries. They werent just skinny fries they were crispy outside and soft inside, done perfectly. My husband had the steak and mushrooms and that was amazing! It was full of juicy steak pieces (he ordered it rare) and lots of button mushrooms, which are my favorite. The sauce was so good we needed more delicious garlic bread to soak it up and eat. I would bet theres not a bad meal here. The ingredients are first rate, no skimping here! Check it out and prove me wrong. 😁
We enjoyed the back patio bar. You can’t order main courses, only appetizers, but between apps and drinks we were solid! Everything was amazing and the staff were kind and courteous
Despite my high hopes and the talented bartenders here, the Guinness is not good. It was harsh on my first visit and has gotten worse since. It’s also double the price of the best 20oz in SLO. Sorry Pappy.
Really disappointed in my experience. I tried to go here for my bachelorette and they refused to let my group in telling us they weren’t letting any more people in. As we walked away they let in multiple other people so I returned to the bouncer and asked him why he wouldn’t let us in. He said he had no reason and didn’t want to give me one. I asked for a manager and he refused that as well. I am still in shock at the rudeness and lack of explanation. Would not recommend this place.
The place was okay overall. It was the only venue open at this time of night, which was convenient. However, the DJ was disappointing—the music selection was inconsistent, making it hard to stay hyped throughout the night. The drinks were decent, nothing spectacular but they did the job. As for the taco man, his food wasnt great, but he seems to be the only option in the valley.
We absolutely love Pappys. The food and drinks are always perfect, the atmosphere is great but more than anything the service is always amazing. This is my familys favorite restaurant, to the point that we eat here weekly, but would come even more often if it were up to my daughter. I appreciate that the staff treats her like a little adult, she feels so special getting to order her favorite mocktails and loves seeing all of their smiling faces. We even ate here on Easter and the staff was kind enough to allow her to hand out Easter Eggs to each and every one of them. They all acted so kind and excited with her, which made her enjoy it even more. All of the food is great, Ive never had something I didnt like, and if you ask my daughter, they have the best mocktails and Rueben sandwich in town!.
The food was excellent here; we had the lobster mac and cheese and the meatloaf. We also had the cheesy tater tots as an appetizer but wolfed them down so fast we didnt even get a picture...they were amazing. I would want to go back and have that for dinner and not share with anyone. Lol. Service was good and the drinks were excellent as well!
My husband, Peter, and I enjoyed lunch at Pappy McGregors in Paso Robles today, and we couldnt have been more pleased with the experience. We opted for a spot on the front patio, where the outdoor ambiance was delightful. The weather was perfect, and the welcoming atmosphere set the stage for an enjoyable meal. What made our visit even more special was the fact that our dog-child, Sophie, was warmly welcomed, making it a truly pet-friendly establishment. Now, lets talk about the food. Peter ordered the All American Burger with Onion Rings, and I went for the 1/2 Reuben Sandwich paired with Sweet Potato Fries from the Mix and Match Lunch Menu. Every bite was a burst of flavor, and the presentation was impeccable. The All American Burger was a hearty indulgence, and the accompanying onion rings were crispy and delicious, nearly the best Ive ever had, said Peter! My 1/2 Reuben Sandwich was a perfect blend of tender corned beef, swiss cheese, house-pickled purple cabbage and Thousand Island on toasted rye, complemented by the flavorful sweet potato fries. It was a delightful mix of classic and inventive flavors. The service at Pappy McGregors was excellent, with attentive staff ensuring our needs were met throughout the meal. The menu offered a diverse range of options, and the Mix and Match Lunch Menu allowed me to customize lunch to my liking. In summary, our experience at Pappy McGregors was nothing short of fantastic. The combination of delicious food, a welcoming atmosphere, and pet-friendly policies makes it a standout gastro pub in Paso Robles. We left with satisfied taste buds and a plan to return. If youre in the area and looking for a great dining experience, Pappy McGregors is a must-visit.
A very fun restaurant that we frequent. We love their blarney burger and garlic fries! Everyone that we have brought here Really enjoyed what they ordered. Their bartenders are the absolute best also :)
Amazing Irish pub! Service is awesome, the drinks are strong and well crafted and the good is quality. Couldnt recommend it enough.
Great place to hang out. Bartenders make great drinks, there are plenty of food options from quick bar food to full meals. Not a quiet restaurant, this is a fun bar atmosphere.
Cool Irish Pub with Irish beers on tap. Respectable selection of local brews. It also seems like a great place to try some Irish whiskey. However, we were there for early lunch. The burger was really, really good. Fresh ingredients? Inspired chef? The burger was much more than what should be expected for pub grub. The patty was just the right dome mess. Bacon added Smokey flavor. The salad wash very good too. The side of onion rings with the burger only came out to three. Also bit pricey but worth it for the quality.
Went here the other week. All the food was well executed and a great atmosphere. Definitely on the pricier side but I was happy with all the food, drinks, and service.
Best burger Ive ever had. I came back a second time and I ordered the same thing. The triple B burger is by far the most amazing burger I have ever had. I had a salad with my burger and chose the citrus vinaigrette and it is the best dressing that Ive ever had as well. Their drinks are on point as well. Everything was just as amazing the second time.
You were treated like royalty. Napkins laid out like a table cloth. Silver ware rolled in Napkins. Very attentions. Fish and chips were great. Bowl of chili delicious and filling. Wonderful experience. Thanks 😊
Pappy’s food and service keeps us coming back. Food is always delicious and staff is always friendly. We highly recommend.
Delicious cocktails and mocktails and absolutely fire food. Recommend the brussel sprouts for days!
Our server was AWESOME!! Im sorry I didnt ask her name 😒 The food was awesome also. We all ordered fish & chips..and clam chowder. It was all yummy & a good sized portion. My only complaint [if you want to call it that] was there was no cole slaw...hence the 4 stars on food...
We were headed to Paso Robles Mid-State Fair to see John Fogerty 7/29. We were looking for a great place to eat. We checked out the town and saw Pappy McGregors and it looked lively and they had some open tables inside and out. I called to see if we needed reservations. Nope, come on over and in 2 minutes we had a table. We also made it in time for happy hour, and we ordered Pretzel Fondue. It was amazing! We ordered fish tacos, a pappy burger and they were amazing , the service was fast, friendly. Ice cold beers to top it off, clean, fresh and a lively-upbeat eatery. We will be back!!* The concert was Fantastic!
Such a great environment to hang out, have talk, great drinks, or to relax and enjoy the evening. The staff is superb and makes sure you have a great experience from food, drinks, to conversation.
Pappys is our go to place! Always great gastro pub food and quick service. Honestly our favorite place on the square. We live here and it’s a great local spot! Don’t hesitate!
This place is great. Staff was friendly, gave great recommendations and the burgers were bomb. Recommend it.
Nice Irish pub. Fish and chips were great and portion was enough to share. Really good burgers and onion rings too!
Food was amazing. Best burger I have had in years. French onion soup was also a standout. Our server was friendly and efficient and always there when needed. Definitely looking forward to coming back next time in Paso.
Decent spot for food and drinks in downtown Paso. My wife had the ribs and I had the chicken pot pie. My pie was good but the wife didnt like her ribs. The meat was tough she said.We had potato skin appetizers and found a hair in one of the skins. They replaced the skin but only offered us a 50% discount on them. Not a huge deal but I was a bit grossed out by it.The food here is good but nothing spectacular. I will say that I think it is ridiculous that Pappys is an Irish pub that doesnt serve Sheppards pie.
Food was great. Place was very clean. Food is made like they love to do it
Last minute decision to go in for a few cocktails. Had a fun DJ, we stayed for a few hours and danced. Fun place on a weekend night.
Suprisingly excellent food, better than your average bar food for sure! Porcini mushroom ravioli was amazing!
Every time I go to pappys I get extraordinary service and the food is always on point. 👌🏼 favorite place to get a quick drink and bite and btw the chicken blt+a is my favorite. sandwich. ever.!
Came in for lunch with my family. Good food friendly service. Highly recommend
Waitress allowed to try a few beers ...giving me choices that I may like.... free of charge... I didnt like the calamari... but her service was good enough for me to recommend others to go check this place out
Came in 10 minutes before the kitchen closed and still had the greatest host! Great food, great drinks, & great atmosphere!
Freindly people, good beer and wine selection. Food was great. Enjoyed the fish tacos and blarney burgers
Awesome spot for dinner and drinks. Waitstaff were so warm & attentive, atmosphere was fun yet posh for a pub. NOT your typical pub food, this is a foodie’s kind of pub. Everything was outstanding—highly recommend the blackened salmon.
The French fries are the best I have ever had, it is like I’m in a pub in Europe, very good place.
Came in with a walk in party of 10. Sat us in an enclosed patio, rainy and windy, heaters work, I was very comfortable. Calamari was ridiculous good and the service was quick. Nice time.
Lunch was outstanding! Lately it seems prices are up, quality and quantity down. Yes, my sandwich and salad was $20, but absolutely worth it. Definitely on the go back list.
My husband and I stopped here for lunch on our drive home from San Jose to LA. The food was delicious. The atmosphere was great. The bartender not only provided great service, but was also awesome in helping with my high maintenance requests for different sporting events on the TVs. I would absolutely go here again.
The lobster Mac was amazing! Service was great. Super attentive, even though they were quite busy!
If you can get a seat, worth a try. They have specialty drinks, normal drinks and pub food. The food was a bit overly salted but again went more for the drinks.
As a local, we love going to Pappy McGregor’s. The food is always amazing, best drinks in town and the staff is always on top of it. We recommend this place for all of our out of towner friends and family!
Stopped in for a beer and nachos. Wow, those nachos are amazing. Very large portions.
We watched the game here and had the best time. Food and drinks were beyond amazing. Pretzels were perfect, clam chowder was super meaty and the calamari was delicious and tender
No matter how many new places open, Pappys remains our favorite. From salads to the best fried chicken in town, you cant go wrong with anything on the menu. Portions are always generous and delicious. The staff is always friendly and quick, and the patio seating is great! Dont forget about late nights on the back patio with DJs, bingo, and fun eats. Each new visitor we bring to Paso Robles will be sure to have a meal at Pappy McGregors while they are here.
Heard great things about this place for a few days of our long weekend getaway and finally got to eat here. The Blarney burger was amazing and my wife’s grilled cheese looked great (and tasted great according to her). This place is definitely a must!
Always prompt with service, great selection of drafts and drinks, and delicious upscale pub food!
Great restaurant! Friendly staff and awesome food
Service and atmosphere were great. The nachos and chili are amazing
This place is racist had us waiting for 40 mins and the two girls in the front suggested to go to a Mexican restaurant do not eat here
Been coming to Pappys for years and its only gotten better. Really enjoyed the chicken pot pie, and my husbands short rib burger was delish too. And lets not forget the awesome smoked old fashioned! Chloe took great care of us, too!
Great food and great customer service. I would definitely recommend to anyone.
Pappy’s never disappoints! The food is always tasty, and the servers are so friendly! We were in tonight for a quick family dinner before walking vine street and Sydney was attentive and helpful. We will always be back!
We love coming here for lunch. We bring our puppy with us. I normally get a burger with fries (their Frys are soooo good) but I tried a grilled cheese and tomato bisque soup. So yummy!
We love going to Pappy McGregor, been going since it was called Crooked kilt back in 2007. The food is all great, best fish tacos ever. Best burgers, best Irish stew. Service and atmosphere are very welcoming. They own 4 restaurants in Paso 1122 speak easy, Fish Gaucho, Tiki bar and Pappys and do it right at everyone.
We never miss the chance to eat at Pappys, sometimes twice a day, when in Paso Robles. The Irish Tacos are habit forming!!!
Such a great atmosphere. My husband ordered and Irish coffee while I got an Espresso Martini and they were delicious. Definitely a spot to visit!
We had lunch today, the calamari and clam chowder. It was absolutely delicious! The calamari was so tender and the clam chowder was full of flavor.
Over priced bar food with rude management. Bartenders were kind.
This is a fun, lively place with one of the best hamburgers we’ve ever had in our life. And we eat a lot of hamburgers. The jalapeño short rib burger is one of the few things we’ve ever had that was as good as it sounds. We would come back to Paso Robles just for that. Bartenders did a great job keeping up with the very busy Saturday evening that we were there.
We made a reservation for a party of about 25 guests on the back patio. Pappys management made the entire experience easy and organized. The food was fantastic and the service is the best in town.
Great drinks, bomb food, all around fun place to be
So we’ve been coming to Pappys before it was Pappys. Not only has it remained a go-to location but it’s continued to upgrade and better itself through the years. It’s a rare spot that I can go to on a girls night but can also visit with family knowing everyone will be happy! The food can’t be called “pub food” because it’s way better than any other pub food out there! We’re lucky to have this gem in our neighborhood!
Very friendly service. They have a inner dog-friendly patio which is great. Our server even brought my dog a water bowl. The food is very tasty with very large lunch portions. Inside is dark just like youd expect an Irish pub to be but the floor was very sticky.
Alright. Fancy this. We take the train from Slo to Paso, right? There’s 6 of us, who wanted to have a fun night in the town that we don’t know so well, Paso. We went to Pappy’s and wanted to watch the Packer/49ers playoffs game and they told us no because we only wanted drinks and apps. I’m sorry? We are paying customers and the customer is always right. We tip well and have a good time. Byeeeeee pappppppi. Needless to say we took our business to TASTE. A+++++
Surprisingly great calamari. Service bar outside, that dude was cool
Nice pub atmosphere. Not too pleased with my order for dinner. I got the cottage pie, and it was more like a lean stew with a pile of mashed potatoes slopped in the center. Taste was good, but I would have gotten more meat for a cheaper price if I’d ordered the steak dish.
We drive down from Morgan Hill we love this place a lot just a 2 hour drive
Whenever were in Paso Robles, we normally stop off at Pappy McGregors. They have an excellent selection of premium alcohols. The service is professional and friendly. We also got some excellent unbiased recommendations for restaurants in the area. Taylor is our new favorite bartender in Paso.
Great food and service. Enjoyed the atmosphere. Look forward to coming again.
NOE was an awesome server...and the pink skies wonderful.
This is one of my favorite restaurants. We absolutely loved the vibe, food and our waitress, Sydney was beyond amazing...So friendly and helped make my birthday even more special and memorable.
We dont usually go out to eat much, but when we do, its usually at Pappy McGregors! 😁
We stopped in to grab a bite to eat before heading to the mid state fair to see John fogerty. Wow!!! We got the pretzel fondue and it was amazing , my husbands burger was delicious too and I had the fish tacos. They were fresh and tasty, did i tell you the service was impeccable? Well we will be back when we’re in town . Amazing place to have a drink and food that was super tasty food! Clay & Carol
Pappys is a go to for yummy food and drinks. Great staff.
I stop here every time I pass through, the food and the drinks are amazing
The food is good, the servers are cool. But the security are completely unprofessional, over the top and react in excessive ways, physically to women who are only 51 non-aggressive and just out having a good time. My wife has visible bruises and nail scrapes from being grabbed by security and dragged out for the simple fact that her friend was too drunk. They wouldnt even give my wife her purse that she was unable to grab before being thrown out, without cause. The security refused to give her personal belongings back, luckily when the police arrived they got my wife her purse so she could leave.
It was our first visit and a return visit for our friends. Had a great meal. I had the chicken pot pie and my husband had the fondue burger. He enjoyed his burger and I loved the pot pie! It was a huge pie that was big enough to share. The crust was nice and flaky With lost of chicken and veggies with a wonderful creamy filling. The drinks were pretty good, but our server wasn’t around for us to order another round. (They were probably short staffed) The drinks were reasonably priced but the entrees are a little pricey.
Service very slow. seated at 3:30 and received food at 4:15 which is too long to wait. Had to ask someone for our server to get menus, had to ask someone for our serer to order food, had to ask someone to find our server to get the check.
Great food and atmosphere!! Will be back!
The best thing on the menu is easily the meatloaf. My boss orders it every single visit! Ive tried nearly all of their items and enjoyed them all! Dont skip dessert.
The hostess at the entrance seemed a bit distracted...but overall, the food was great!
Great food! Love the meatloaf.
Food was good, service was really slow and forgetful.Ive been here a number of times in the past. Bought the kitchen a 6 pack a few times. Ive always enjoyed it.But this last time just didnt have that good service Ive had in the past, it was ok, but slow. Had to ask for things multiple times. Maybe they were understaffed for a weekday? I guess Ill see if this is the new norm or just a bad day next time I go to Paso
This is where Id recommend you go if you are a frat guy that just graduated college and is looking for a more subtly refined fratty bar. While a frat guy will enjoy the comfort food and his first dirty martini followed by 4 long island iced teas, I would recommend that the ladies keep a watchful eye on their drinks at all times.Definitely better spots in the neighborhood.
The bartenders are awesome and from what I noticed the management was hands on and welcoming. Took the time to welcome us and talk to us. Ive been to a lot of bars and pubs but they really went out of their way to make me feel welcome. The bartenders are just as awesome and friendly as well. We will be going back next time we come up.
I went in with a group of friends to celebrate a really special occasion last night. We were served by Cody who unfortunately, was extremely rude. My sister was having a hard time choosing from the menu which, I know from being a server myself, can be frustrating. But instead of asking if we needed some more time, he was rolling his eyes for all of us to see (except my sister). I don’t typically like posting negative feed back but this was a special day for me and our dinner turned sour. Maybe he was having a rough day but we didn’t deserve his attitude. The food and drinks were ok.
Road trip from San Francisco Bay area for the best meatloaf on the West Coast
Friendly, attentive staff. This is the go-to place when visiting Paso Robles!
Friendly helpful staff. Great food, loved the clam chowder. The drinks were superb. I definitely recommend this wonderful place. Going back tonight for the speakeasy...
Great food and drinks! Nice location and the staff are very friendly. Thank you for your wonderful service, Noé!
The Jalapeño Short-rib Burger was one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. It was balanced, spicy, and rich. Absolutely worth the price. The cocktails were good. I got the Cali Caliente, which was delightful, but could benefit from straining the blackberry pulp out. Appetizers were tasty, with pretzels and beer cheese as the stand out. The fried pickles were good, but a bit too salty. Overall, I would absolutely recommend and will make it a point to return.
Great lunch special, nice back patio
My family has winegrape acreage here and I come up from Huntington Beach each year. Without fail this is my go to gastro pub in Paso. The food is top drawer and their Old Fashions are the best pour on the whole central coast. If you find yourself here dont hesitate to try Pappy Mcgregors.
Three of us came in and we sat down in the bar and ordered the prime rib chili nachos and we each had a bowl of French onion soup. The server was very nice and accommodating and he made it an enjoyable time. And all the food was very good. Totally recommend this place.
What did I ever do to you? My wife and I went out for a special date night. We got here at 7pm on a Friday night. We were excited for a nice dinner. We were told there were no tables inside unless we wanted to wait for 45 minutes, so we sat outside. After nobody had come to take our order for 10 minutes, I informed the hostess of this. She went inside, came back and told us theyd be right out. 2 minutes later she seated another couple inside and they were helped immediately. After 15 minutes of waiting I informed her again that we hadnt been helped, that we wanted an inside table but werent given one, that she had seated another couple inside who were already helped, and we still hadnt been helped. She went inside again and came back saying there was some confusion. AFTER 20 MINUTES waiting at our table without so much as a glass of water, gazing longingly at our menus, we finally left and went to Basil Thai Restaurant. We were seated, served, and given delicious food in less than 15 minutes.
Best food Ive had in ages from a pub. Kids cleaned their plates, huge portions, friendly staff, recommend aby of my friends and family to go. They know how to make a black and tan and damn their nachos, beef dip, beef stew, grilled cheese, and chicken tenders were amazing. Lemonade tangy and sweet. Im going back!
Food was a 10, busy night for a Wednesday. Did not give us time to enjoy our apps before entrees were brought but not a huge deal.
Great place to eat. Its pretty casual. Food is super delicious 😋 MAC AND CHEESE WITH ADDED BACON AND JALEPENO IS THE BEST!!!
Great atmosphere, friendly staff and relaxing place!
This place is great! The brussel sprouts are a must order! Great drinks, and local wine selection!
Love this place always the best in service, food and drinks!! I ordered the Wedge Salad by mistake and when it came I was looking at it the waitress asked if wrong I told her my mistake she offered to take back and exchange for Chopped Salad which is what I usually get ( as cant have ice berg) it is always amazing but I told her no not their mistake but thank you! My husband is a Meat guy and always has their French Dip. Their Calamari and Brussel Sprouts appetizers are the best thank you to the owner for providing a great place to enjoy!
First wknd in Paso Robles..Pappy McGregors was highly recommended. Food, drink selection, and service were top-notch!
The food was good some of the flavors were over used and most entrees were fairly heavy. Service was excellent. Calamari is always a great option.
We love coming to Pappys and love their salads pretzels and so much more a local fav!
My mom and I have lunch at Pappy’s every week and it’s SO good! The staff, the food and drinks are wonderful!
Go for the tacos! They are the best in town! Im not a bar guy, but I always go out on a Friday and Saturday night just to get their tacos. Zenido is super friendly and his cuisine is authentic.Such a great deal!
This is one of our favorite spots downtown! Servers are awesome, bartenders are super friendly and talented, food is delicious, and the drinks are fantastic!! My husband and I love this place! His go to is the Bourbon barrel aged old fashion and my fave is the BSB. The food and drinks can change which is sad when theres something you really enjoy but nice to have new options too! Hopefully the Thanksgiving leftovers comes back this fall!
Food is great. Especially the Meat Loaf.
Oh this is a must go to! I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and flavor packed specialty burger. It was a great conversation with seemed to be bar manager and bartender. Was a slow off Monday night. Hot some local history with a good chat about beer. I will be coming back on my next trip out here.
Best damn burger I’ve ever had. Service was great and the ambiance was very chill. 10/10 will be bringing friends and family.
Best bartender ever! And the food was great too. Get the french dip and an old fashioned.
Excellent Irish pub. The food is phenomenal. I had the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and them amazing Brussel Sprouts. Everything was very good and cooked in there own unique way. A must go to when in Paso Robles!
We were seated at 5:50pm and at 6:05 we left because NO ONE acknowledged us at our table. Told the hostess when we left and she was like well, I told your server you were there. Just poor and inconsiderate service. WE are locals.
The food is always good, however the wait time for food is almost always absurd. We visited at 5:45 on a Wednesday. No additional events were happening downtown or in the downtown park. The restaurant was maybe 40-60% occupied and the wait time for food was roughly 30-minutes. We dont visit Pappy McGregors often but when we do we always remember the long wait, and why we dont come often. Overall still a good experience just wish the time from order to receive wasnt rated below average.
Food and drinks were good, but the service IMO could have been better. It was our first and only time there. I think its important to find out if the guests are first timers. When you know theyre new to the place, maybe put some effort into selling the menu. It should be done, regardless, but for a place with such great atmosphere and quality offerings the staff should be more than just order takers. Maybe we just came at the wrong time of day.
We had a great experience eating at Pappy McGregors. We were seated right away and the service was attentive and accommodating throughout the evening. We had an unusual situation where some people joined us, then we moved and the server was easygoing and helpful. Other reviews mentioned the balsamic dressing - spot on, very good. I also had the short rib stew which was lovely comfort food. Very savory with a generous portion of fall apart meat. We ordered two cocktails which were both delicious and balanced. We will be back.
The only place in Paso you can watch a drunk cowboy argue about wine with budding hipster-yuppies over three fingers of Irish neat. Mixed drinks are great and the steak-tips on mushrooms is killer. My only problem? It can get busy, but sometimes thats a feature instead of a flaw.
Nice pub for some typical Irish food and drink. If you like Guinness, try some of the mixes (black and tan is called half and half but the blacksmith is a nice blend of Guinness proper and Smithwicks - another Guinness brew). Servers were attentive and drinks came out quick. Food was filling, so youll come away satiated. Location is front and center in the turn square so parking may be hard to find on a busy night, but worth it.
On our first night in Paso Robles, we stopped in for dinner. The food was absolutely delicious. I had the meatloaf, and my husband had a Reuben. We would definitely eat here again. The bartender was absolutely fabulous.
Enjoyed the place very much! Very reminiscent of Ireland pubs and an amazing atmosphere
Excellent ambient, great food, and friendly staff
Great service good jack and coke good food
This place is one of the best. I love eating here every-time I am in Paso. The Halibut and Chips are my all time favorite, the best I have ever had. The staff is awesome too.
