This is my family’s favorite place to stay in Paso Robles. The Allegretto Resort is a trip to Italy in California wine country. The staff and rooms are top notch and the wines are incredible. We had breakfast and dinner at Cello on site and enjoyed a variety of Italian cuisine. They had a lot of kid friendly options as well. We took the kids to the water park which was nearby. The location is perfectly situated next to many other great wineries. The staff was super friendly and gave us a tour of the property where we got to feed animals, view a variety of the owners incredible art, and enjoy a variety of games throughout the property all while enjoying a glass of wine. This will be our home away from home every time we visit. Thanks again to all the special people that work there and who made this trip memorable.
Love it here. Will def come back; one night is not enough. The grounds are beautiful. The wine is excellent. The alpacas really are friendly. The staff is unbelievable; everyone made you feel special, but Yvette at the tasting room was the most incredible.Only two complaints:(1) The on-site food closed at 9. However, the bartender was so nice, and made us garlic bread, and we could still order out, but would love a room service option or a late night bar dining option.(2) No towels in the gym. And wipes were out at 1030am and hadnt been refilled.I have little kids and they were super happy with everything. Great overall experience!
My spa day was given to me by my school for my 30th year of teaching and Allegretto did not disappoint. I had a Swedish massage with an eye mask and a facial. Both treatments were done by Dorothy. She was wonderful and concerned about my comfort and how I was feeling. The Swedish massage was a full body massage from head to toe and relaxed all my muscles. The eye mask with the facial brightened my face and made my eyes refreshed. Dorothy was very attentive that my skin was turning red, and that I may be allergic to the product. She left up to me to continue. My skin must be sensitive, and I continued with the facial. Dorothy’s concern showed she has the client’s best interest in mind. The ambience in the spa is quiet and relaxing. My Prosecco in the quiet room was a great way to start my spa day. I ended the spa day in the infrared sauna with a glass of water. It was the a relaxing way to get my barrings after the wonderful relaxing massage. My stay at the Allegretto for two days and spa day with Dorothy was awesome! I would recommend this to anyone who wishes to pamper themselves.
I am known for not giving five stars reviews easily. This time these resort deserves it and everyone of the five stars. The room is a spacious with very tall ceilings and a very comfortable bed. The service is friendly, efficient, professional. The breakfast at the restaurant was wonderful and very Fairly priced. The location is great close to wineries and yet still far from the downtown buzz.
Loved staying here. So relaxing. The property is beautiful and huge! Room was nice and big. Lovely and relaxing stay here. Highly recommend! Combining it with the wine tour.
3rd time here. The rooms are good-sized with comfortable beds. The grounds are lovely with many objects to admire from art to gardens. There is a good restaurant on the premises along with a wine tasting room. A selection of rooms are available to reserve for special occasions.
After touring 7 different wedding venues in the SLO area, we stopped by Allegretto on our way home and immediately fell in love. The feeling we got as soon as we stepped in the lobby was overwhelming, so it made it an easy choice to get married here. Allegretto makes you feel like you’re in Italy which is exactly the vibe we were going for. We worked with Hailey, the event coordinator who was truly incredible from start to finish. They included so much on site such as food & beverage, linens, tables & chairs, an amazing staff, and so much more. Our families could not rave enough about Allegretto and everyone working there. We even became wine members because we know this will be a place we will continue to visit. Rory, Ryan, and Sheila are all amazing in the tasting room and made us feel so welcomed anytime we came in. By far our new favorite place & will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
My friend hosted his room for us groomsmen to get ready in. Resort lobby was luxurious. They coffee available for guests in the lobby. The design of the place gave me museum type vibes due to all the artwork and different architectures. Overall had a great time for the few hours I was there.
It was absolutely gorgeous!! The rooms are large and luxurious. You can walk around the whole grounds and the place looks straight out of Italy! I will definitely be staying here again.
Ok place, if you want to pay 5 Star Prices for an Olive Garden themed Motel 6.Outside the front desk staff, the bar tenders and our breakfast waitress, this was one of the worst hotels Ive ever paid for.Valet was worthless. Waited 5-10 minutes and caught one of the guys on their phone behind a pillar who took our keys. Once I got the car back, just self parked from here on out.The front desk staff was excellent. Polite, friendly, no issues. The decor was like someone had seen a low budget film based in a cliched version of Italy. For the ridiculous price, its like they tried to make the resort feel cheap.Room AC didnt work, probably because the patio door wouldnt stay shut, which also led to mosquitos in the room.Lets talk about the owner, the most boring, monotone person selling people the resort and how amazing it is on channel three. If you are gonna lie about how great the resort is, hire someone more interesting. The bar tenders at the bar were great, no issues or complaints, but when we showed up at the restaurant the hostess sat there texting her friends instead of even saying hello to us. We were early for the reservation and she said have a seat at the bar and shed grab us if she could seat us earlier. Half the dining room was empty, we waited and she came over about 10 minutes after our reservation time and apologized that she had forgotten us. Wish this was the last time the staff for got about us, but the same thing happened with our waiter. We saw him once for drinks, once for food and that was it. No refills, no follow up, and then 40 minutes... I timed it, 40 minutes before we saw him again and that was only after we grabbed a different waitress and she refused to close us out. Then add on that the food was a small step above a microwaveable meal, bland, at least tasted like it was nuked in a microwave. Seriously, shut the place down, its absolute terrible. This is by far the worst hotel experience Ive probably ever had. Stay at the La Quinta Inn next door, would have been a fraction of the cost for us and just as good of a stay.If management reads this, this was the second weekend of April in 2024. I had completely forgot how bad the experience was until we went to a real five star hotel.
Girls trip to Paso we made reservations for brunch here. Mimosas were enjoyed, and the biscuits & gravy are highly recommended! Beautiful grounds easy to get to.
This sprawling property a short drive from downtown Paso offers so much that we find new reasons to return each time we visit. This comfortably luxurious and warm hotel has a great fine-dining restaurant that doubles as its breakfast venue, an al fresco dining patio, a long, inviting bar where we’ve enjoyed glasses of the delicious estate wines, and an attractive tasting room, at which we peeked but have not yet visited because we opted for full glasses at the community tables in the bar. We enjoy simply strolling the first floor passageways, which display vintage local photographs, interesting modern paintings, classic sculptures, and beautiful minerals displayed on Asian furniture. A true highlight is the polished slice of Giant Redwood or Sequoia, which has an uncountable number of rings and brass flags pointing to the rings from momentous events of world history, such as the assassination of Julius Caesar (44BCE for history buffs) and the birth of Christ. It was downed in the 1950s. It’s amazing to touch the very center marking the tree’s birth, which was around 500 years before Caesar was betrayed. We spent some time admiring the architecture, fountains, furnishings, rose garden, landscaping, and giant American flag. The lobby offers several inviting rooms with comfy chairs and at least one roaring fire. The spacious outdoor courtyard offers umbrella tables for day and a fireplace and firepits with Adirondack chairs for night. The hotel also offers more activities than you are likely able to enjoy during your stay, especially if you are like us, out tasting wine all day. For example, there is a spa, which thankfully my wife did not discover, bicycles built for 1 or 2, at least two labyrinths (which would be great for meaning-of-life contemplation after just the right amount of wine), an outdoor giant chess board (which, again, requires just enough wine, at least to win), outdoor ping pong, or bocce. For camelid lovers there are llamas for petting, after which you can stroll the vineyard trail. I’m sure there are other hidden gems we didn’t discover, both inside and out. The rooms are spacious and well appointed with antique-ish furniture, a comfy couch, marble bathrooms, and glassed-in showers. Our room had a marvelous vineyard view on a day with dramatic clouds and eery sunlight. Some rooms have balconies or terraces. Next time.
Beautiful extremely well maintained property. Excellent staff. Comfortable rooms. We had to postpone our trip a week because of flight problems and they were very accommodating. We will definitely stay here again
We had an event there and booked many rooms and a conference room. The service, or lack of service was laughable. There was literally no attention paid to us and our needs. We even had to dump our own trash that built up in the board room each day. It is a beautiful place and seems very high end, until you ask for a simple task from someone there. Then the wheels come off. I asked the front desk if we could get ice for the board room. The answer was that needs to come from hospitality I said OK and nothing happened. We had to hunt down our own ice. There was a huge lack of communication. The staff had no idea who we were and what we were doing. We were actually avoided by the staff. I can say that we were are all very reasonable and patient. It was not us with the issues. I hope they can learn from this experience and make the much needed changes. Just communicate to your staff.
The rooms are mediocre at best and extremely outdated. Room service doesnt answer the phone on Saturday mornings because they are busy, which is to be expected. Not worth the price.
If you are looking for a secluded getaway, this isn’t it. The photos suggest being tucked away in the countryside, but it is next door to a La Quinta near a busy highway in a commercial area (road noise if your room faces the front of the hotel). Our (fireplace) room itself was spacious and nice, but missing some of the touches you might expect from such a pricey resort , e.g., no speaker to play music from your phone and the TV doesn’t connect to the internet. We went to the bar once, on our first night. My wife had an Albariño that was not unreasonably priced ($17). I ordered a glass of Blanton’s, though, for which they charged $50! (The bottle costs around $100-$120, retail.) That’s on me, I guess, for not checking the price before ordering, but I felt gouged and did not return to the bar or try the restaurant after that. It’s a short drive to downtown, but you do have to get in your car; nothing is walkable from here.In sum, this place is nice enough — a bit dated, maybe (but hey, so am I). If you are expecting the Paso equivalent of Sonoma Mission Inn, however, you will be disappointed.
Wine tasted in March 2024. The wine was good but not great. The 19 Tannat & 20 Cello were awesome but the others were okay.Kirsten was our attendant and was friendly but treated members differently than guests. It was very exclusionary. Will I go here again? Probably. The hotel is part of the Ayres hotel chain.
Nice hotel, the room was clean and spacious. The staff was helpful and courteous. The resort is what make it shine, the attention to details is impressive and the gardens are very relaxing.
Amazing experience, stunning views, courteous staff, and a gorgeous Italian villa-like hotel design. Will definitely be coming back!
The property is beautiful, as are the rooms..... After that not many good things here.We have had events for the last 3 years in Paso & have referred our out of town guests to stay here. Each year we received info about some issues with the hotel. This last year we decided to stay at the hotel & have a conference room there to work out of for the week. We were able to see firsthand the incompetence of their staff. We have even communicated with the owner, Doug, who is a sweet older man and he has pushed us onto his GM Rich. If there is ever a problem & you let them know, Rich will come talk to you & bring you a bag of lavender to smooth everything over which happened several times. The one good employee who did help with things from time to time Nam is no longer working there. Go figure...I would have gotten out too!Rooms... Well we all know check in is at 4pm. If you tell your guest your room will be ready at a certain time it should be ready for the prices you will be paying. We had multiple guest told their room would be ready early. First 12:30pm, then 3pm, then 3:30 then 4pm. No one went out of their way or was held accountable. Reserving a King & getting 2 queens & vice versa. Not having a registered guest on file but our guest having a confirmation code. Multiple times with half of the 70 rooms we reserved.Called the front desk to get a hold of our guests and they asked me what room they are in and then said they had no person registered there...I asked them to triple check, finally after 30 minutes holding, they found the guest registered under the name I gave. Miraculous.Going to the Resturant with 14 people, restaurant is empty, and the hostess looked at us like we were crazy. She asked us if we wanted to book for tomorrow... No for today & she said I dont know if we can help you with the size of your party. Again, the restaurant was empty. We had our conference room booked for our use 24 hours a day. They will not give you a key to let yourself in & out so you have to go to the front desk to have them open it each time you want to go in, not a huge deal but when we came back one evening and needed to work, the young lady at the front desk told us we could not use it as we only had it from 8am-8pm. After a lengthy disagreement she called security for protection. Yes we were upset but no need for security and our belongings were in the room.Had to call Richs cell number and woke him up. He was not happy with us at all but when you sign a contract and all your stuff is in a conference room & there is work to be completed, plus youve paid for it, you expect to use it. Rich showed up the next day to apologize... Yes with lavender. Problem solving techniques far outstretch offering lavender. Our guests have come forward with a list of their grievances and now our attorney is involved. Stay clear of this hotel. Book at the Hotel Cheval. They understand concierge, apply problem solving techniques, and are trained to treat their guests with respect. We will not be recommending this hotel to anyone.Bret Saberhagen~
This is an overdue review but want to say thank you so much for all of the house keeping staff. I had left behind an item in my room and it was found by house keeping/ mailed to me! I am very grateful and cant thank the staff enough.
There were several housekeeping issues that were quickly resolved. The hotel itself was gorgeous! A little pricey.
We had a very pleasant experience not just stay.. from the nice views to the rooms and Spa..Special thanks to Charlotte and Jessica in the Spa where they gave my Mom a very nice experience.
The courtyard here is absolutely gorgeous, and the location is fantastic. They have a really beautiful spot with really nice hedges, trees, and fun benches and swings. But the rooms are absolutely insanely priced. It was ~$700/night for two “queen” beds that were actually full beds. I didn’t sleep well and am pretty frustrated about the prices. Honestly it seems like someone bought a holiday inn and then added a bunch of nice trim. The staff is fantastic, super kind and polite.Overall, it wasn’t worth the price.
One of the best hotel/resort I have ever stayed in. Food, service, cleanliness, staff, grounds were all top of the line and the value for the money was right on. Will be back again for sure.
Excellent accommodation and service. Great restaurant, great tasting room. Good yoga class on weekends.
Had a lovely time with friends at the Allegretto. The property feels a bit dated and kitschy but in a classy, romantic way. Comfortable rooms, interesting history, options for walking exploration, plentiful cozy gathering spaces both inside and out. My main critique is the restaurant food - for being quite expensive, could use some fine tuning.
Went on a girls trip and it was so cleansing. The hotel alone is perfect mini adventure with each hallway unique with the owners processions. A few fairies have been rumored to live here. The staff is wonderful and the ambiance is romantically quaint. Whether you come here with family, friends or a loved one you wont regret your stay here. This has become my new quick weekend getaway.
I wanted to write a much longer review but this forum did not allow me space enough to post everything that was wrong with our recent stay. I will try and whittle my 2+pages(single spaced) to something that will fit here. We are a non-profit located in Paso Robles and had our yearly event in October. We had our VIPs, Board Members & guests coming in from all over the country to attend this event and chose The Allegretto for everyone to stay. We and our guests were sorely disappointed in the service given to us during our stay. The problems came down to management failure. I have been in customer service and management for 50 years. I try and give everyone the benefit of the doubt , but when we are booking 70 rooms plus a boardroom, we expected a much higher level of service than what we received. This comes down to management failure. Management needs to look into further training for their staff, the refining of processes and more attention to detail. We were hoping to continue our relationship with The Allegretto for many years to come but after 3 years of trying to make it work with them, its time to move on.
My girlfriend and I recently stayed here for about a week. I have to say that this was one of the nicest stays weve had anywhere. The hotel is beautiful with art everywhere. All the staff were great that we interacted with. Check-in was very smooth and quick. The room was very nice and was pretty much spotless. The housekeeping staff operated like a well oiled machine. Ive never seen anything quite like it.We didnt try the wine tasting or the restaurant and Im kind of disappointed that we didnt. We made some time for the pool and Jacuzzi, which were spotless. Theres a lot to explore on the hotel grounds. Theres a chapel which was kind of surprising and it was beautiful. Theres just a lot of little hidden things to see and do at this hotel. They have some, what I would describe as fire pits going. That was really nice and we made use of those one night.I meant to write this review a couple weeks ago and I just hadnt gotten around to it until now so I know Im forgetting things. The bottom line is if youre looking for a hotel in the area you should definitely give this place a chance. We are already looking forward to our next stay at this hotel next time we are in the area.
The rooms were spacious and spotless, with great décor and crisp bed sheets. The restaurant is very romantic with a good quality of food and wine! The staff were attentive and went out of their way to ensure that we were comfortable. I was very impressed with the Tuscan style terrace. My bedroom had a view of their pool with their vineyard . I will definitely come back.
We only stopped for dinner but what a fabulous place! I’m sure rooms are pricey but if you want stunning and amazing with great service in the Paso area; this is the one. Staff are great, grounds are nice, food and bev were awesome. Reminds me of the Ojai Valley Inn, and Four Seasons, Santa Barbara. Walkable (.5mi) from Tesla charge station.
The staff was excellent, the rooms and the grounds were beautiful. I highly recommend
Just had my wedding here and it was amazing. First, Hailey (the event coordinator) was so kind and helpful working with us to make sure everything was perfect. The resort itself was beautiful and all of the staff were so accommodating. Made for a perfect wedding!
Such a gorgeous hotel, loved all the art and all the wonderful touches throughout the property. So well done!
Absolutely beautiful. Jennifer at the front desk was super helpful with my accommodation. I really appreciate it. She checked me in. While she was gone talking with the manager. Santos also from the front desk offered me water, which I said no, then she immediately offered me some wine which of course I said yes! These front desk girls are amazing. We enjoyed the wine tasting. The pool and walking around the vines. Breakfast in the morning is also great. The full bar has some interesting drinks. The rooms are extremely comfortable, clean and big. Ill definitely be back!!
Absolutely stunning property. Enjoyed our stay tremendously. Close to all the wineries. Will be back.
We had a great time here. Our first visit and very glad we stayed at the hotel as well as visited the wine room. We consider staying here again even though it is a little bit pricey. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. There was a wedding with music going on on the courtyard right next to our suite but the music was great and we were able to enjoy it along with the party.
Beautiful property- Tuscany in Paso. Lots of photos and artifacts from the owner family on display. Nice restaurant and gym and shout out to bar man Leo , wonderful friendly 23 year old Mixologist. My husband and I enjoyed the wonderful cocktails and food at the bar. It is not inexpensive but worth every bit of it ! Great spot for special occasions!
Excellent experience. The staff is courteous and professional. The layout of the resort is something to take time to appreciate.
A marginal hotel. Problems:Room service stops at 9 PM on the weekendChildren under the age of two are in the Jacuzzi throughout the day and nightLazy, rude employeesEmpty mini fridge in roomCheap, old room furnitureThe Jacuzzi barely operate and don’t expect any bubbles.Bells go off every hour. They allow locals to come with their children and picnic in the courtyard.trashy.So this is a 2 star or $200 hotel at best not $600. On a positive note, the rooms are large the beds are comfortable. The housekeeping is wonderful and the place is very clean. The bathrooms look far nicer in the pictures than they are in person. They’re more best western than anything. The largest problem by far comes from whoever is managing the people that work at this hotel. It feels as though they are all somebody who owns the hotels children. They have absolutely terrible customer service. Shocking really. They are slow. They are lazy and they clearly do not want to work here. Whoever is overseeing this needs to be replaced immediately. The hotel certainly has all the bones to be good. But you will be disappointed throughout your stay. Stay somewhere else.Is there any drinks or food service in the courtyard by the pool? Nope.Trying to navigate the tv is far more difficult than anyone ever needsThe 00 Hotel Channel explains a lot. Self important hotel owner is classless and lacking self awareness. I assure you he thinks this hotel is “sublime”.
My wine tasting was incredible!! I went on a Vinyard tour and learned more in an hour than I have in my first 44 years of life!! Ask for Michelle...I loved Everyone in the wine room but she taught me alot!
VERY over priced for a tired old hotel. Lovely grounds but rooms are extremely old, dark and small. Pool was broken which we had looked forward to using. They have animals in a petting zoo off the back of the carpark. They seemed stressed and very hungry, no grass just a dusty lot for them to roam in. The restaurant was extremely over priced, we decided to go into town and ate at Finca which was Delicious. Definitely would not return to this hotel, you get no bang for your buck, service was nothing special
Visited the winery for a tasting and had the most amazing service from Yvette! She was amazing and completely made the experience. Will definitely be back!
I expected a lot better. At check-in, not a single person asked to help with bags at any point. They didnt tell us anything about the hotel just essentially handed us keys and said the elevator is that was which was about 3 turns they failed to mention. Then in the room there were a lot of things wrong. Both shampoo and conditioner was filled with shampoo, one sink was clogged, the other sink didnt have hot water. The hotel restaurant was beyond over priced for dinner and the food wasnt anywhere close to the price. The pool was nice and the fresh made Pizzas by the pool looked good, if not for that my score would have been a 1.
This hotel was a great little weekend getaway spot. It had beautiful grounds, spacious clean rooms, a comfy bed, and a very nice bathroom. Incredibly quiet and the grounds were a nice place to take an evening stroll after dinner (assuming its not scorching hot).We also had dinner at the hot restaurant which was very good. It is a long dinner experience though so if you normally like to quickly get through your courses I might recommend somewhere else.Location is ok....sort of right off Hwy 46 but its still conveniently close to downtown (5 minute car ride).Overall highly recommended for sure.
Absolutely beautiful luxury resort very conveniently located in Paso Robles. We came here for a little mini honeymoon after our wedding and had the most amazing time. The spa is also wonderful—I highly recommend the duo duo couples massage. Life changing! The only con is how expensive the restaurant is. It would be nice if there was a more budget-friendly option.
We stayed at this fabulous resort while wine tasting in Paso Robles. The grounds were absolutely stunning and it was a great place to relax after touring some of the local wineries. The owner spent considerable time and expense to make the grounds special and we wish we had dedicated more time to wandering and just enjoying the courtyard next to a fire pit. The hottub was inviting and a great place to have coffee in the morning. We personally found the restaurant breakfast options great but disappointed in the dinner entrees. After dining once we decided better to Uber into town the second night. While the place is certainly not cheap, it made the trip a dream vacation.
Location is a beautiful place, overlooking a Vineyard. They have wine tastings and other activities to do. We came in at midnight and the guy on shift was super friendly. Although he put us in the wrong room, he went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. Even added 50$ credit to our room for the inconvenience. This hotel is Pet friendly. I recommend it to people going on vacation or tourism. Staying here for one night will lead you to stay another.
The food, the wine, the art, and the friendly service. Just great. Go there. You wont be disappointed.
100 percent top notch! We had an amazing overnight stay for our Anniversary. The entire staff in the Cello restaurant from our hostess Alyssabeth, our waiter Ethan, Chef Jeremy, all made us feel like true VIPs. The Hotel was so beautiful. We felt so relaxed and only wished we had more time to enjoy. We will be back! Thank you all!
Wow we were totally impressed from the moment we pulled up to the moment we departed—beautiful property great hospitality excellent food and wine amazing setting with awesome views. Brad provided great service at Cello’s and we loved watching the sunset over the nearby mountains from the beautiful patio. We felt this was an exceptional value for the experience and will definitely make it a point to return. Thank you and keep up the good work!
The Allegretto was the best hotel on our entire road trip from San Francisco to San Diego. You get much better value for the price than at the coast. The hotel is so beautiful. In the middle between their own vineyards. Everything in harmony. The Cella restaurant is great as well. Exquisite food and wines. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. It is a little bite remote.
Exquisite, serene, beautiful and fun atmosphere all bottled into one place. Amazing and attentive staff. Loved walking the grounds in the early morning! (You MUST do that! 😍) Cant say enough good about my 5 day stay. Met the owner himself who was very down to earth and was very present. I saw him a few times walking around making sure everyone was enjoying their stay. The restaurant was amazing! Rooms nice and clean each day. I even loved the shampoo and conditioner! The event staff was super helpful and attentive as well as we had a business event there. Cant say enough good about this place!
The Allegretto was my destination of choice to host 20 guests for my mid-century birthday milestone. I could not have chosen a better location. Nestled near downtown Paso Robles, this property has everything you need to unwind, connect and gain inspiration. All of my guests where delighted by the surroundings, the restaurant and the team making their stay wonderful. We did all the things, spa, wine tasting, pool and firepits at night. What a fantastic experience. Everyone left fully invigorated.
The grounds are really pretty and relaxing! Great location! The front desk was friendly and helpful. I would say the disappointment was the room service, it’s very expensive and left us without syrup for French toast and a tiny cup of $6 coffee without cream. We called and it was brought up promptly. Not the end of the world, but not the best. The hot tub could have been hotter with more force in the jets and we were bummed the pool cafe was seemingly closed for the season. Something to mention, that is not the hotel’s fault… the amount of kids staying at the hotel. I’m not sure if it’s due to spring break (wine country is not the first family vacation destination that would come to mind) or if this is a usual occurrence. But screaming kids at 9:00 am and wrestle-mania in the room above us starting at 7:00am was a rude awaken on what was to be a peaceful break. I realize this is a family friendly spot, but I didn’t expect it to be this un-romantic in such a romantic setting. All in all, decent experience, we might return to see if it’s better than spring break.
Only had dinner there, prior to the Chicago concert at Vina Robles.Best $32 burger Ive ever had! Come to think of it, the only $32 burger Ive ever had; but boy, oh boy, it tasted good! Id do it again. And thank god we had to use the restroom before we left because that was an experience in itself, walking to the bathrooms and checking out the variety of art we saw on the way, after walking down a seemingly never ending hallway. This place is spacious and classy. I was tempted to skip the Chicago concert just to wander the facility. So visit this resort! If nothing else, have a drink, catch a buzz, then trek the halls with boughs of jolly, fa la la la la, la la la la! 🎶
The Allegretto Vineyard Resort is AMAZING! My experience there was nothing short of OUTSTANDING! From check-in to check-out and everything in between, my time there was one of the best. The staff are excellent and make you feel welcomed from beginning to end. The customer service specifically from our event contacts Amanda and Stacie, wine tasting host Sheila and the awesome Chef, Jeremy were second to none. I appreciate each and every one of them. I highly recommend the Allegretto and plan to return as many times as I can!
Allegretto is top rated for a reason. The place is beautiful. I got a terrific sleep, the bed was very comfortable. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. The resort is close enough to get to a zillion wineries and restaurants, but far enough from the hustle and bustle to relax. You’ll like it
My husband and I were at the property over the weekend for three nights, which was terrific. We started with a simple but terrific lunch at Cello- excellent job, team!I wanted to give a special shout-out to Mauricio Diego, who was SUPER helpful. We were out and attempting to hike in the area- we went to two locations only to discover BOTH were closed because of the recent rain. My partner called the hotel, and Mauricio kept us on the line while he check with the proper authorities before sending us to the third location. The hike was spot on and extraordinary; we enjoyed the wine tasting, and the exceptional hike made the weekend super special. Thank you to the entire team at the property- Keep up the excellent customer care!! We will be back soon.
Best experience of resort ever! The staff went all the way to make sure our staying is comfortable and memorable. They send out message and survey to figure out special request. They arranged two rooms close to each other. They prepared a little surprise gift for my little one. The rooms are so big, clean and cozy. Beds are super comfortable. We really enjoyed their holiday performance. Gardens are well designed. Lots of activities such as ping pong, pool and others. We would definitely come back and stay.
This place is beautiful and I enjoyed Wine Down Wednesdays with $6 wines at the tasting room. There are nice grounds to walk around or ride the bikes and play Bocce ball, Chess or Ping Pong. There are no quiet business facilities outside of the room to work. There is the Dylan Meeting room that you can work in, which has nice large windows of the courtyard and a long table with chairs and a TV that you can connect to, but you cannot privatize the room and close the doors unless you go through sales and pay ~$250 to rent the room. So unless the doors are closed there is constant traffic from other guests looking in to stare at you while you work or noise from the lounge filtering in.
Beautiful location with full-service amenities at a convenient distance. The wedding we attended was well planned and the grounds were phenomenal 👌 I cant wait to come back as a hotel guest or hold an event here. The art at every corner really added interesting elements and the architecture was refreshing old-world. My only complaint was other hotel guests letting their dogs run loose which was uncomfortable.
Once you pull in the driveway you can tell your going to enjoy yourself. The lobby was spectacular decorated for Christmas. The rooms were spaciousBest part and hardest to find....gonna sound silly but really good water pressure in the showers. The facility is amazing really looking forward to going back next year. A must stay resort in my book.
We went for a 3 day two night stay - and we really enjoyed the spa (AMAZING massages and facials), the grounds, and the art. Would have loved to do yoga in the chapel, but we didn’t have time on our itinerary for it. All meals (in room, at wine bar, and in the restaurant) were all quite delicious and had beautiful presentation. Drinks were eclectic and tasty. Great wines in wine bar (another pleasant surprise - I had low expectations for their house wine), and we had a really nice time with Sheila (who did our pours) and the other guests - it felt like we were in someone’s private living room enjoying wine. We all agreed it had a great vibe. Every employee we encountered was on their ‘A’ game. Great staff!
My experience at Allegretto Vineyard was absolutely extraordinary! Having worked in the events industry, Ive encountered outstanding customer service before, but the level of service I received at Allegretto Vineyard was truly phenomenal! From the moment I stepped through the door, I was greeted with the warmest and most welcoming smiles. The check-in process was pleasant, and I was thrilled to find a beautifully decorated room equipped with everything one could possibly desire. Even the shampoo and conditioner provided were incredible – and as someone with dark curly hair, I can assure you that I know good hair products when I see them! But thats not all – the food at Allegretto Vineyard took my breath away. Chef Jeremys culinary expertise is simply genius, perfectly capturing the essence of the regions cuisine. I was truly impressed by the care and respect given to the local area. In fact, I am even more excited about hosting an event at Allegretto in September, as the entire resort is like a picturesque dream, promising to be a highlight of the occasion.I am eagerly looking forward to returning for my event and countless future visits to fully enjoy this remarkable gem of the Paso Robles Region.Big Big Thanks to the Following people for making this visit an official Core Memory!!! Thank You all Soooo Much!!!!Jeremy Fike (chef)Bobbi (Bartender)Chad (server)Richard ( general manager)Lori (concierge)Amanda Kong (national sales managerStacey Humphrey (Catering and Events Manager)
Amazing weekend! We were there with 3 other couples celebrating our Anniversary. The rooms are so spacious... large bathrooms with huge walk in showers... double vanities... we were in room 153... cute sitting area out side our French doors that leads to the courtyard. Fire-pits..are so inviting.. on site Resturant and Bar.. (Room service available.) The service is crazy good! From the moment you arrive... bellmen are there with a cart to help you unload! The front desk was sweet and knowledgeable... and all our rooms were ready (3:00PM). The resturant has a great menu... (Make dinner reservation in advance) Bar... one of the best Martinis Ive ever had.. and their bloodies .. yummy! ( Blue cheese stuffed olives) Spa is amazing...and the wine tasting out door area is really fun! Great wines and you can order from the on site restaurant lunch or some appetizers to pair with your wines! Alway consist in their amazing service... Beautiful hotel... You really dont even need to leave there!
Great location. Romantic and artistic decor. Very expensive yet worth it.
I am thrilled to share my experience with Allegretto Vineyard Resort Paso Robles as the venue for our recent meeting. Despite some last-minute changes, the hotel staff was extremely accommodating and provided exceptional service throughout our entire stay. The resort itself is breathtakingly beautiful, with its stunning vineyard and Italian-inspired architecture. The meeting facilities were top-notch and provided us with everything we needed for a successful event. The technology and amenities were all up-to-date and functioning perfectly, allowing us to focus on the content of our meeting. The guest rooms were spacious, comfortable, and immaculately clean, providing a peaceful retreat after long days of work. The onsite restaurant, Cello Ristorante & Bar, exceeded our expectations with its delectable cuisine and impeccable service. We were also impressed with the wine tastings offered on the property, which provided a lovely way to unwind after our meetings.Overall, I cannot recommend Allegretto Vineyard Resort Paso Robles enough for both business and leisure travel. The hotels exceptional service, stunning scenery, and luxurious amenities made our meeting a truly memorable experience. Thank you to the entire team at Allegretto Vineyard Resort Paso Robles for a wonderful stay!
I had an amazing experience at the Allegretto Vineyard Resort in Paso Robles, California, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a luxurious and memorable stay. From the moment I arrived, the staff were all incredibly friendly and attentive, making me feel welcomed and valued throughout my stay. One of the highlights of my stay was watching all the engaged couples considering Allegretto as a potential wedding venue. It was so heartwarming to see so much love and joy in the air, and it added to the already delightful atmosphere of the resort. The on-site restaurant, Cello Ristorante, was exceptional and truly made my stay memorable. Every dish I tried was absolutely delicious, and the service was top-notch. I highly recommend trying the food here, even if youre not staying at the resort. All in all, I had a wonderful time at the Allegretto Vineyard Resort, and I will definitely be returning when I visit Paso Robles again. I highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for an exceptional stay in the area. The staff, food, and atmosphere are all truly five-star quality.
The property, the rooms, the views, the pool are all great. Very vacational atmosphere, but it seems hard to get the good service in the first round. You need to be ready to make an effort to get service and understanding from employees that you are paying $400 per room (on weekdays) for no hassle getaway.
Mr Ayres please stop being cheap and offer your guests breakfast. You charge plenty to stay in your hotels Im pretty sure you can afford it....... Beautiful place, I love all the history and art; gardens are amazing!
I have stayed here a few times. Probably the best place to stay in Paso. It has a Tuscan theme that is a touch over the top. Rooms are spacious and the beds comfortable. The grounds are gorgeous and great to walk around with coffee on cool mornings. Courtyard is very well kept and perfect for nighttime drinks around the fire pit or morning coffee in front of the fire in the fog. Bar staff makes excellent drinks. Didnt eat dinner here but food looked and smelled delicious. Staff was gracious and friendly.
This is a really great hotel in Paso Robles. It is convenient to downtown and a truly beautiful Hotel. The artwork is amazing. The rooms are stunning with exquisite furniture, two sinks, large showers and some have wonderful views of the vineyards. The grounds are magical. Huge pool and spa. The service is outstanding. Turn down available upon request and the price is quite reasonable. If you are planning to do some wine tasting in Paso this is the place to stay.
Beautiful property and amazing staff.Awesome selection of wines
The Allegretto Vineyard Resort is a breathtaking location that I recently photographed an engagement session in. The garden area is filled with plenty of photo opportunities, and the architecture of the resort reminds me of Italy. I was highly impressed with the resorts overall design and plan to return many times to capture its beauty. I am also hoping to photograph a wedding soon at this incredible venue.Burlap & Oak Wedding Photography
My company was at the hotel for our event and were showed less than acceptable service from the hotel. Staff was absent and dismissive. Would not recommend hosting any type of work or personal event at the hotel.
If I could give this hotel negative stars, I definitely would. My partner and I booked this hotel for a special anniversary trip, expecting a luxurious and romantic experience. However, from the moment we arrived, it became clear that the hotel did not live up to its advertised standards. Instead of luxury, it felt more like a chaotic combination of a Cheesecake Factory and Chuck E. Cheeses. The hallways were filled with rowdy bachelorettes, and the random decorations, from dusty crystals to tacky neon lights, showed poor maintenance and a lack of taste. Our disappointment continued when we decided to visit the jacuzzi, only to find it crammed with people to the point where there was no room for anyone else. Frustrated, we attempted to order room service, but despite placing our order 20 minutes before the kitchen closed, they didnt take our order. As a result, we had to resort to ordering pizza from Dominos for our room.To make matters worse, the hotels structure was far from soundproof. Despite the grand appearance of the building, the walls seemed paper-thin. We could hear every noise, from the raucous bachelorettes in the hallways to the rowdy guests staying above us. Sleep was impossible, and we felt exhausted and frustrated the next morning. Considering we paid nearly $500 per night, we called the hotel first thing in the morning to request the cancellation of our second night. We explained the entire situation, hoping for some understanding. Unfortunately, the staff we encountered were rude and pretentious, repeatedly citing their inflexible policy. Even after speaking with the manager, we were met with nothing but rudeness and indifference. In conclusion, I strongly advise against staying at this resort. It simply isnt worth the money. If youre planning a visit to Paso Robles, I recommend staying in Cambria, which is just 30 minutes away and offers a far superior experience. Save your hard-earned money and avoid the disappointment we experienced at this hotel.
Beautiful place, great food. Amazing decor in the art corridor.
Had a magnificent time at this hotel. Around every corner, there is something interesting to see. The concierge, Lori, was a true delight and wonderful to talk with about all of the exciting things to do in the area. Sadly, we were not able to fit in all of the neat things the area offers, but we will definitely be back!
Yes, the courtyards, garden paths & sculptures are beautiful - but the people who work here make it special! From the moment we pulled up for our overnight stay on a roadtrip, the service here was above and beyond. Id specifically like to commend the valets / bellhops Finley & an older gentlemen who helped us with charging our car & bringing our bags up to the room. Also, shoutout Mayzee at the valet! She had the best energy & was super friendly to us & our dog, even giving us water for the road. Thank yall for a great stay!
It was a nice place to walk through, We didnt stay here. The vineyard seemed a little strange ungodly like, several astrological symbols which is unclear as to represent what?? And the tongs to play a tone?? Something seemed off. But the pool area looked nice and the chess pieces seemed nice.
One of our favorite places to stay in Paso Robles. The restaurant on-site has good food and the nearby wineries in Paso makes it a good base for us. Downtown Paso is about 5-7 minutes away. Good hotel, cant go wrong
It was our first time, and the hospitality was great. We had two large dogs with us, and the resort was able to accommodate them. While smaller dogs is cheaper, the service fee for large dogs was extremely expensive and I found it difficult to understand how they justify the pricing.Room service was delicious, and food ordered came quick. The pool is large and the entire resort is quiet and relaxing. I recommend this resort for anyone.
This place is located in a residential neighborhood, however they have done a great job to make it feel private and secluded. It is also located on the opposite side from most all wineries, but is not too far. The place is a working museum. FYI u dont have to stay here to visit the grounds. Talk to the staff they will give u all the ins and outs of this lovely place
Had a wonderful lunch here today. The hotel is absolutely beautiful with incredible art work
Great hotel experience in wine country of Paso Robles. The grounds were very well kept and the pool was surprisingly enjoyable even though the area was small. Weather was great, but it can get windy in this part of California. We did not dine at the hotel restaurant, but the room service and pool food was quite good. Service was above average, but expected for anything at this price point. In general, I would highly recommend this place and especially because there are not a ton of high end options.
Love love this hotel!! Hotel is just absolutely beautiful. My fiancé and I decided to stay here for the weekend for our engagement photos and staff was so generous and kind the whole weekend. The best was the bartenders! They really made this experience 5/5. They helped us figure out dinner reservations and were just so friendly. Definitely makes us want to come back and visit!!!
My stay at Allegretto Vineyards was an absolute nightmare, and I strongly advise against booking a room there. What was supposed to be a romantic getaway with my girlfriend turned into a sleepless ordeal due to three rowdy bachelor parties. The noise was unbearable, leaving us unable to rest or enjoy our stay.Seeking a solution, we approached the staff and asked if we could check out a night early and receive a refund for the second night. Shockingly, they heartlessly pointed to their terms and conditions and refused to provide any refund. Their complete disregard for customer satisfaction and unwillingness to rectify the situation were beyond disappointing. It is simply unjustifiable to expect payment for a service we did not receive. The staffs lack of empathy and the hotels inflexible refund policy only added insult to injury. Allegretto Vineyards demonstrated a complete lack of concern for their guests experience.Save yourself the frustration and choose a hotel that values customer satisfaction. Allegretto Vineyards falls far short of providing a peaceful and enjoyable stay. I sincerely hope this review serves as a cautionary tale to others considering this establishment.
Beautiful place with different kinds of art. The place is out of the box and has a WOW factor or many of them. It is like a Disneyland for adults! The bar is excellent and has good mixologists who know how to mix cocktails! The bed was so comfortable, the room was nice, modern with high ceilings and a neat terrace. The grounds are picturesque with a Californian style! We will be back!
We had a wonderful 2 nights stay at Allegretto during the 4th of July weekend. The room had a small terrace and was spotless. We enjoyed the art and sculpture collections throughout the resort, the fascinating architecture, gardens, pool, abbey, and of course the tasting room. This resort is family and pet friendly, we had our baby (9month old) and our puppy as well.We also had our breakfasts and one dinner at Cello and loved the food!Areas of improvement: we hoped for a more friendly front staff during check-in similarly to Cello’s reception. We had an unpleasant wait at the bar during our first night and hoped for a better service. This didn’t impact our overall positive experience.
Wonderful breakfast, service. I did not book a room.
Stayed here for one night with my fiancé while driving down the coast. Beautiful hotel, front desk was very friendly and accommodating. I had a wine tasting scheduled and could not make it on time. Prior to my day of arrival, they sent me a text message welcoming me and to reach out if I needed anything. When I realized I would not be able to make my reservation at the tasting room, I was able to text them and the front desk cancelled my reservation for me ( cell phone service along the coast was terrible ).The room was large and beautiful . We had a wonderful relaxing evening and explored the grounds the next morning . Will definitely be back
Our suitcase was stolen from the hotel laundry room and the staff don’t seem to care about the same. They are neither offering solutions nor are empathetic towards our loss and situation … we are not saddled with a bagful of clothes without a suitcase and don’t know how to carry them back. The place has no cameras either. It’s sad that a place like this has theives inside the hotel and the hotel is doing nothing about it
Visited the resort in November with a 4 month baby and had an amazing time. The resort was baby friendly with spacious rooms, refrigerator in room, lots of paved trails with interesting art for stroller walks, plenty of outdoor seating in their restaurant and tasting room (in case you have a fussy baby). The onsite restaurant and tasting room were lovely and we didnt leave the resort once! I also love that we can easily pop back into the rooms for a quick feeding or diaper change in between bottles of wine :) Will definitely be back in the summer so we can enjoy the pool.
Certainly a very good hotel. Very clean, friendly staff, and charming interior. My partner and I enjoyed the walking trails and outdoor fire pits. A relaxing and beautiful experience to say the least - we witnessed the most gorgeous sunset and view of the stars. Will be back!
The room was in excellent shape, well setup and maintained, except for two small items, wear and tear around the bathroom door handle and the bathroom faucets.Otherwise one of the highest in our experience at this level. The facility was well appointed. They take a high level of care both inside and outside. The courtyard and grounds are a pleasure walk around and enjoy. Very pleasing to the eye.
Stay here in Paso! Wonderful stay, the details in the hotel are amazing and make you feel like you are in italy. You can walk the vineyard and there are a few short trails around the property. There’s a courtyard with fire pits and plenty of tables. The winery was nice, small, wines okay but service was good! Restaurant was wonderful, would go there even if not staying at hotel! Rooms were spacious with high ceilings, relatively quiet at night.
Lovely place. Clean. Good food. Excellent selection of California wines
This resort is impeccable! Very beautifully decorated. Our room was very spacious with plenty of room for storing belongings and clothes. Absolutely very clean, even the television remote was labeled sterilized for your use when we checked in! The beds were very comfortable, plenty of nice big fluffy pillows too!We had a room with a patio facing the main courtyard. In the evening the fire pits in the courtyard were all lit creating a nice summer night ambiance. My husband and I just returned from vacationing in Italy and this resort is very reminiscent of that, from the moment we entered we were in awe.We strolled the resort grounds one morning visiting the chapel, gazebo and also took a seat on one of their many rustic swings (for two). We took some great photos. Great location if you are looking to take some beautiful photographs! The bellmen, valet and room service staff were exceptional! They were prompt, professional and absolutely courteous and helpful. So impressed with these young men!Would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a wedding venue! This resort does not disappoint!
I usually dont like to write reviews bc I feel like ppl just rant on and on ... but HONESTLY Im so surprised that this place has the reviews it has .... From the poor food quality , to the room service ( forgot multiple items of the order ) and the extreme over charge of things .... But ALL this aside , they charged our card 450$ without authorization claiming we damaged their tv ...we did NOT damage their tv! I have no reason not to own up to something like that. I can tell you this is a very very low scam and I will not let it go. I didnt cause any damages and they cant provide proof that this happened while we stayed there, or if it happened after we checked out. Im so disappointed in humanity if this stuff happens and they get away with it ... . Why just bc they are supposed to be a 4 star hotel? ... unacceptable.
Our room on the third floor faced the vineyard. The sun rose on the hill bathing it with a golden hue. The crystal rocks and statue of Buddha under the tree seem to shoot magical peaceful rays brightening the start of our day. A truly lovely sight to wake up to.The art around each corner gave the Tuscan castle a Alice in Wonderland quality. Something to discover at every step. The perfect temperature of the room and it’s spacious size was conducive to wine induced slumber. We slipped into the hot tub every night after dinner and before 10 pm. The guests and staff were all extremely friendly. Maybe something to do with the amped up good vibes from all design elements in the hotel. The dinner was a better meal than breakfast at Cello. We sat outside under the heaters looking at the dancing flames of the bonfire. Very pleasant stay indeed.
Spent one night here as last stop on our way back to SFO after a touring holiday. I wish we could have stayed longer. The place is beautiful, with so much attention to detail. From the art inside the hotel to the stunning gardens, Douglas Ayres has put so much thought into this resort, and the result made for a perfect experience.
I attended an event a few months ago. Lack of communication and willingness to help from the administration and front office was disappointing. I would not recommend hosting any events here. Sad that such a beautiful place has such poor service!
I left an expensive and important ring of mine in the room when I left. When I called later to see if it was found, it was. I asked if someone would overnight it to me at my expense and was told yes definitively. I asked to the tracking number also. A day later no tracking number and after I called again they sent it to me. At that time I found out it was sent through USPS, and it was not arriving until 6 days later. This was on a Thursday and it’s not arriving until Tuesday next week. I was in Rm 160 last Wednesday night. Be warned they don’t listen to what’s said nor follow through with your wishes.
We booked a king room at Allegreto for our 5th wedding anniversary weekend. It was the best time weve had in years! You cant book this hotel and expect it to be inexpensive. But if youre here to celebrate and splurge a bit, you wont be disappointed. The grounds are beautiful and clean, the staff is beyond sweet and the restaurant is delicious, though reservations are very important, especially for dinner! The wines are fantastic and the tasting room manager, Rory, was a great tour guide for the vineyard tour and wine tasting.Well definitely be back for future special dates!
Loved the room, it is beautiful. The shower was beautifully designed and very modern. The bed is extremely comfortable and slept very well. loved the quietness of the room and waking up to the morning sunlight. The staff was very polite and always greeted me when I came and went. The plaza was beautiful, and the 356 Porsche event utilized the area several times. On Thursday evening the staff brought out appetizers which were delicious and presented very well. Heidi and Shawnee were excellent servers, very friendly and professional. Well trained. Will keep this hotel on my priority to stay to when I travel again to Paso Robles.
I absolutely love this place. It is so clearly a labor of love, and so perfectly executed. Passion and devotion and taste. A couple times a year I drive between LA and the Bay Area and I always, always stop at the Allegretto. Its just a lovely thing, unique, a work of art. Some day Im just going to come here and spend a week. Ill commune with the llamas, eat excellent food, drink excellent wine served by a consistently wonderful staff, sit on on my private terrace and watch the moon glide by.
The hotel and grounds are beautiful with tons of little seating areas, fire pits, gardens, and lawn games. Tons of places to get outside and spend time alone or with a group. The staff is great, the rooms are well appointed and clean, the restaurant on site is fantastic, and the location is super convenient. The only issues are that this place is a little pricey and the restaurant and outdoor spaces close really early. But for a trip to Paso, this is the nicest place around.
The majestic resort is conveniently located in Paso Robles. It. Just keeps unfolding.....hallways adorned with original art.Courtyards are abundant with places just to be. The ambiance at night beckons one just sit relax with wine it cocktail in your hand if you desire.Paths to explore, bicycles to ride, games, and of course swimming.Rooms spacious, and oh my the luxurious linens. Staff is outstanding.Love this place for so many reasons
Picture-perfect surroundings, amazing food, and divine wine - But sadly this place was like a wine-themed playground for kids. While the romantic vibe was disrupted by noisy kids, we still enjoyed our stay at Allegretto Vineyard Resort.
Been trying to stay here for a while...so happy we finally made it! Absolutely beautiful property. Its as if we landed in Tuscany only Its just a few hours up the coast. Amazing views/vineyard, great rooms, restaurant, grounds, chapel, labyrinth, rose garden...did I mention the unbelievable collection of ancient and no so ancient art. Its a resort/vineyard thats a museum, gallery, Zen space...did I miss anything?! Ok needless to say, well be back! Grazie mille Allegretto!! Ciao!
Enjoyed our stay at Allegretto. The ambiance and grounds are peaceful and promote relaxation. We would definitely return.I doubt I would eat at Cello again. I gave them two chances. The steak is not good. Unsure if it has to do with the cuts they purchase or the cooking method. The mussels are also not good. Proper mussels should have a broth that you want to soak your bread in. Not these mussels. Despite the less than 5 stars dining experience, we overall enjoyed our stay. The staff at Allegretto all did a great job and were attentive and cordial. I would recommend that the owner order both steaks on the menu and see if something can be fixed. If I’m drinking a nice bottle of wine, it would be nice to pair it with an exceptional steak. Charge more if you have to, but please fix this.
Another special occasion (wife birthday) celebrated here at Allegretto! You guys never disappoint with the beautiful rooms and wonderful staff. We’ll be back sooner than later.
The room were beautiful. The bathroom was equisite with black marble countertop and iversized shower. (No tub) for tub people. They did have a spa with full services. The tasting room was excellent! The tasting room ladies were a delight. The dining room could use a better source of meat. My fillet was hard and stringy. I paid 72 dollars for it. I was happy with the hotel so I didnt complain. I would suggest a res at the five star Justin restaurant. Aran Hill. l also has a delicious light gourmet lunch we enjoyed and the cab library wine was out of this world. Allegretto is a beautiful hotel with many artifacts and distinguishing characteristics! I love all the huge amethyst geodes all the place. They have many fire pits going each night in different areas, so we had the oportunity to enjoy the outdoors with great ambience. We also found a beautiful fragrant candle in the tadting room.
Lovely place to spend a few days. Reminded me of trips to Tuscany! Everything about Allegretto was designed to give you a sense of balance and peacefulness. The rooms were large and comfortable and the common areas were lovely. We especially enjoyed the large, lit fireplaces in the morning and evening and the beautiful outdoor courtyard complete with fountains. Shout out to Kobe who worked at the restaurant bar and couldnt have been friendlier or more competent in his recommendations on wines as well as vineyards to visit. A real asset in a place where customer service is so important. Hats off!
I love the ambience of the whole resort. Its one big art gallery/museum with all the paintings, sculptures, crystals and art pieces the owner has collected from around the world. So many secluded areas around the property for quite contemplation. The food from the restaurant was very delicious! The rooms are big and spacious with modern updated bathrooms. I will return again next year and have a 3 day retreat for myself! One night is not enough to enjoy the ambience and beauty of the place!
Went for my moms birthday, never disappoints! Started off with an easy check in process thanks to Ryan in valet helping us with our car and bags and another sweet girl checking us in. We arrived to a bottle of wine and a card from Sierra wishing my mom a happy birthday. We had a great dinner and even though the restaurant was completely booked, the host made sure we got a table and server (Ethan was hilarious and super attentive). We did a wine tour with Steve which I Loved!! Super enjoyable and informative, lots of great wine! Jessica, jensen and Karen gave great massages, even the receptionist was super welcoming and helped make our time relaxing. I’m definitely missing the names of a couple other great servers and front desk people, but anyways! Amazing place if you want a relaxing weekend away with lovely, attentive staff and a beautiful scenery.
Great resort destination. From the time we got out of the car the bell staff and valet staff were very friendly and accommodating. We walked the whole hotel and checked out all of the beautiful artwork and sculptures. beautiful fire pits and Adirondack chairs made from wine barrel wood. Very comfortable actually. The restaurant is clean and the food is delicious. I enjoyed the open kitchen view. The room was very clean and presentable. The cleaning staff did a great job while we were there. The grounds are beautiful and need to be explored. Definitely a great stay for wine tasting in Paso Robles. We will be back.
Gorgeous property!!! I would highly recommend staying at Allegretto Resort if you are looking for a location around Paso Robles. They have their wine tasting room, plenty of outdoor sitting options, a beautiful pool area, and the restaurant offers all organic ingredients from local farms! Our stay was very comfortable, with excellent service and the rooms are a pretty good size.
This is the second time that I have stayed here, the property has a lot of little gems everywhere with a courtyard, outdoor fireplaces, meditation spots and even a pool. The rooms are a bit outdated with decor and rugs, but it’s a cool spot if you’re visiting Paso Robles. Do make appointments for wine tasting and the spa, they have limited options during busy seasons.
We arrived early and appreciated greatly an early check- in! We loved everything about our room! It was top notch! The pool and hot tub were fantastic! We felt like we the only ones in the hotel cause it was so quiet. We realized that the walls were very well constructed cause there were clearly many quest staying in the hotel! My only complaint would be our dinner at the restaurant in the hotel! The service was awesome but we order the 28.00 steak and they brought us the 38.00 one by mistake and charged us for their mistake! Also my chicken was very dry and chewy! But other then the food our stay was fantastic and we will return!
For how beautiful this hotel is I wanted to give it 5 stars, but the guest service, room, and shady nature of the billing made it hard to give this hotel anything above 2 stars. For starters, we won a free night at this hotel in a charity live auction. When I called to book my room they said there were none left for the days I was asking. It sounded weird so I double checked online and they were completely open! Once confronting them they “magically found a room”… when we got there they treated us as if we couldn’t afford to be there (maybe because of the voucher?) but they don’t know how much we paid in the auction!!The room was nice, but the beds were so hard they hurt all of our backs. Other than that the room was decent. Nice big bathroom and a little view of Paso. The worst was the staff thinking they could take advantage of us and up charging us for everything. They double charged the room and all of our cards. When getting breakfast they gave us a receipt with dishes more expensive than what was represented on the menu. The bar up-charged for every drink which we found out later when we were checking out because they double charged the room and the drink were much less than what they charged our credit card at the bar.For a hotel that is supposed to be classy, it unfortunate to see that they thought we wouldn’t notice charge discrepancies and when we pointed it out they were a bit rude. Overall, there are better places to stay in Paso that won’t take advantage of you.
My wife and I came to spend New Year’s Eve weekend. We had the most amazing days in allegretto. Great customer service, Daniels service at the restaurant was stupendous, and Dulce our room attendant made us feel just like home. Thank you for all the great attention.
It’s a nice place but not a winery just a resort with vines. Unfortunately its extremely new age. So if your into hippie single elderly lady vibes then you will love this spot. Gave it a 4 star because it’s nice and clean but a odd mix of classic villa/ painted crystals on walls.
We had a wonderful stay at the Allegretto and would very much like to return someday. We will recommend it to friends. The hotel had a lovely laid-back vibe which reflects the feeling in Paso Robles overall. It was quiet yet luxurious. The staff was friendly and attentive. The grounds were beautiful. The spa was great. My daughters and I took a yoga class in the chapel that was so peaceful. Kat was a great instructor and very warm.Only one suggestion: Service by the pool was slow. Maybe a bar/snack bar set-up by the pool would work better. We loved the cabanas though!! We were touring a few areas in California and the Allegretto and the Paso area was our highlight!
Do not stay here if you have a dog, maybe even a child too. I found this hotel through “Bring Fido” I subsequently booked it through Bring Fido as well. As soon as I checked in I was made to feel like a criminal because I had my dog in tow. The front desk agent said disapprovingly, you didn’t book a dog friendly room. Ummm I booked the room through “Bring Fido” hello!!! So then I was promptly upcharged and extra $175!!! This is unacceptable in my opinion. Why would I book my room through again “Bring Fido” unless I was planning to bring my dog. We were booked into a stinky room littered with dog cover up perfume. Now we have a 15 lb, very friendly and well behaved dog. He was already well received by many of the hotel guests, just not the unfriendly staff. They initially put us in a room that was right next to a wedding, with a toddler and dog. Not smart! Had to move rooms. The restaurant was disappointing too, food was bland and underwhelming. The service to start was terrible. We have a toddler and was not waited on for at least 15-20 minutes. Had to flag down a waiter.Oh and also I woke up in the middle of the night with a terrible rash, bed bugs or fleas? My dog does not have flees. Could barely sleep with the strong odor in the hotel room. Will never come back here.
The most lovely, quaint grounds! The rooms are beautifully appointed, cleaned with care and attention to detail. Cello the restaurant served magnificent food (we had both dinner and breakfast) with outstanding portions. I just felt like I was in Tuscany, Italy with the layout of the grounds, architecture of the building and artwork throughout the property and wine garden. Just a wonderful place to experience.
An absolutely beautiful resort… The kids had a great time in the pool and playing bocce ball. The views of the Vineyard are very nice, and the location is very convenient to the rest of Paso Robles. The bartenders make great cocktails, and the restaurant serves a very nice dinner that is worth making reservations for.Breakfast can be indoors or outdoors, I really enjoyed sitting outdoors in the morning. This was a great experience with my extended family, we will certainly be back again!
This beautiful hotel far exceeded our expectations! The room was so clean, so big, the view of the courtyard from the patio so gorgeous. The bed was the most comfortable we had ever slept in! The pool was so relaxing - & clean - & the luxurious scents & smells walking around the grounds were breathtaking. We appreciated the beautiful art, paintings, sculptures. Our dinner in our room was delicious & fairly priced, our cocktails were wonderful. Service was great, fitness room was just perfect. We cant wait to return!!
Couldn’t split the bill between 5 couples. The stay has been good so far. We (5 couples) ate at the restaurant and it was mostly good. Food was good, waiter was personable, atmosphere enjoyable. Food took a little long to get out to us but it didn’t bother us because we were having a good time. However it really bothered me that the waiter said he couldn’t split the bill. 10 of us ordered separate food, drinks, desserts, then got 1 bill for $750. He said he was not able to split it. This is 2021. We just spent 750 dollars. And we are all supposed to go down the receipt and write what we ordered so we can pay someone back for our food? We all downloaded an app that splits expenses but a multi million dollar establishment can’t figure out how to do the same thing? It was a frustrating end to a nice meal.
This was our 2nd time staying here. We love this hotel. From the rooms to all the staff, we are always impressed. The bar staff was fun and accommodating. Management was out and about to make sure we knew of everything that was going on and to help us enjoy the property. We were very pleased with our room upgrade that we were given for our anniversary. It was a big surprise. Not all hotels go to that extent to make your stay wonderful. We will definitely be back again. Its our place to stay in Paso.
The resort is amazing. From check in to check out, the staff is super friendly and helpful. The grounds are beautiful, and the docent led tour is very cool. Allegretto is located very centrally in Paso. We stayed for a week and enjoyed the hotel immensely. Service is impeccable, the staff is amazing, the wine is awesome and the food is delicious. We enjoyed a 1 bed king with terrazzo. We also took advantage of the spa treatments and rented a cabana at the pool for the day. Highly recommended. My only complaint is that the do allow dogs.
Super clean rooms. Really comfy beds. Incredibly friendly staff. Bathroom layout was non ideal. Wouldve really loved a tub to soak in. Our studio suite only had a standing shower. Towel placement was awkwardly above the toilet so you had to step clear out of the shower and climb over the toilet to get a towel. There were no towel hooks conveniently near the shower. But otherwise a lovely place. Smoke free was actually smoke free. The decor was just amazing. Had a great time overall.
Nice Place, we enjoyed our stay. A couple of things though that took away from the experience: if there are white towels and linens they had better be very clean. The bathroom sink runner was noticeably dirty so we turned it over. The bed was great but the comforter was just too warm. So we had to choose to be a little cool with only a sheet, turn the heat up, or the AC way down to use the comforter. Please consider having a lighter weight or alternative blanket available. I find this an issue with a lot of hotels lately. Also we went to the pool area upon arrival, there was no attendant and the bar was not available/open. We were celebrating my Birthday so we were hoping to be served while swimming and lounging by the pool before dinner. Some other guest from Ireland asked me if I knew where to get drinks so i referred them to the restaurant. Not sure if that was correct. Missed out.
Beautiful hotel with a plethora of art, statuary and holistic places of solitude.
The hotel is gorgeous. Our room was very big, beds extremely comfy, bathroom ultra modern and super clean. The grounds are magnificent. The kids loved smelling the flowers (lavender and roses), swinging on the swing bench, spotting olives on the trees and grapes on the vines. We had dinner and breakfast at the restaurant and it was delicious. Everything was fresh, looked and tasted divine. After dinner on the patio we finished our drinks watching the kids play boules as the sun was setting. The inside was very grand and decorated to the highest taste. The chandelier, the pictures, the sculptures, there were so many things to look at. It was fascinating. We absolutely loved the hotel and the kids had a fab time!
Loved this hotel! Beautiful with lots of character. Personnel were wonderful.Food in their restaurant was delicious and have gluten free bread. Waitress was veryattentive and accommodating. The bed, pillows and rooms were exceptionallycomfortable. We will defiantly be staying there again soon and have told all ourfriends about this great find!!!
BEST PLACE IN PASO! Truly a 5-star experience. The hospitality here is fantastic. I stayed here for the first time 3 years ago after finding it on Groupon, and was amazed at how beautiful the hotel is and how great the hospitality team was. Just stayed here again this past weekend and nothing has changed. The grounds are even more beautiful and the staff is incredibly accommodating. Shoutout to Chrissy at Guest Services for all of the help throughout the weekend! Also, their onsite restaurant, Cello, is absolutely delicious. I will always stay at Allegretto whenever I visit Paso.
We stayed one night with our dog. Staff were all friendly and the room was quite nice with a private-ish terrace. The fireplace in the courtyard was lovely and we met other friendly guests there. We took out dinner from Cello and it was very very disappointing; I would not eat there. The weird meditative/spiritual decor all around the grounds felt fake and was not my taste. If theyre holding weddings, it can get a bit noisy and busy.
I wished we had more time here but only had 1 night. Loved the rooms, hotel decor and wine! Check in wasnt til 4 and then wine tasting closes at 5 so not sure that makes too much sense. Owner leaving money on the table and would recommend leaving open til at least 7. Loved walking the property. Beautiful. Also liked the owners video on TV explaining a lot of the decor and hotel info. Very informative. Thank you! Will be back!
Loved the place! Havent been to Paso Robles for a few years and was pleasantly surprised with this new addition to the area. Built in Italian style, not over the top, this resort has all the amenities you would want for a weekend stay. Most impressive was the service we received during the stay and after. Only had breakfast here, but were equally impressed. Well be back!
The grounds are beautiful and the rooms clean, large, upscale and very comfortable. The room amenities of complimentary water and the shower/bath items were very nice. Our experience in the bar was very good with drinks and appetizers served two different nights by Kobe. I would like to see later hours, but I understand the local norm with guests likely doing wine tours & tastings most days and are in bed fairly early. We would return for sure.
Restaurant took 45 mins to deliver our food. We gave up at that point and decided to go to our room. Appetizer salad was bleh - cold bacon wedge salad. It tasted like cold bacon grease only.Room was fair - bathroom was fine. Bed wasn’t luxury topped so sleeping wasn’t great. TV was tiny for the space and remote was slow to control it.Lovely grounds and good hotel service overall though. Will try again and see if it improves with time.
Comfortable, nice and friendly hotel that is also dog friendly and has great food! My sisters rooms coffeemaker wasnt working and they replaced it with another one and that one had problems too. Other than that we had no other issues. We booked very last minute so ended up paying a lot per night, maybe a little more than the level of the hotel. Its still a very nice luxury resort that is not too big and feels cozy.
We were very impressed with the Allegretto resort; the overall design, the artwork, and the quality of workmanship that was put into the building, as well as the beautiful landscaping, was all outstanding. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and nicely furnished. We enjoyed sitting on the small patio facing the courtyard and drinking our morning coffee. We also enjoyed the different seating areas around the garden. Overall a very relaxing and enjoyable stay! The artwork around the property was also amazing, but would have liked to know more about some of the artifacts!
The rooms are quite nice. The halls and main entry are well kept with safety and security measures at check in. The owner, Doug Ayres invested much on the outdoor amenities. The pool was cold and small, social distancing was not possible. My wife and I had breakfast on premise. The wait exceeded thirty minutes and the food was room temperature
4 diamond service for sure!!!! I am a manager at another local resort so I can say with confidence all of you hit all your marks!! The people were outstanding!!!! Smiling faces and warm welcomes... I stayed there the day of my wedding and the night after and it was truly a dream. Keep up the fantastic work!!! A big big shot out to your bell staff the two young gels ten are top notch!!!! This resort is perfect in every way..... Great job housekeeping the room was outstanding, to the maintenance and grounds keeping department way to good it ran so smooth... And to the front desk great hospitality! I will ONLY stay here when we visit Paso! ❤️❤️
My husband and I just celebrated our 20th anniversary in Allegretto hotel. We stayed in room 336 for two nights.Great food and service in Cello restaurant, clean room, very comfortable bed, fantastic view with bird singing in the morning..sitting on courtyard by the fire, with glass of wine, walking through the hotel and enjoying art, talking to very knowledgeable and helpful stuff. What a joy! Cant wait to comeback again.Thank you to make us happy!Best of luck.Swansons family
Bring your fanciest car, because theyll assume you are an employee and leave you a note to park in the employee parking lot.
What a beautiful place, very snazzy but at a reasonable price. Very pleasant stay, the wine tasting was a fun activity, & the spontaneous tour was great. Sparkling new workout room. Dinner was excellent. Breakfast pastry basket a nice touch, but all items were too sweet. Room was very spacious & heater worked well. Should put recycling waste basket in each room, to throw used water bottles, newspapers, etc. Otherwise dont change a thing.
We went for a tasting and Sheila was amazing. She gave a great background on each of the wines and made some amazing additional recommendations based on what we liked. Would love to come back and stay sometime!
Here are a few reasons I would recommend you look elsewhere. Your preferences for hotels may differ; if so, you may like it here, or find our needs irrelevant to you. But, we want to share our experience so people with similar taste as us don’t make the mistake of staying here.1. Very, very loud. Other rooms may be different, of course, but in our room, there was no carpeting. Very high ceilings, and it made even our own normal, speaking voice sound very loud and echoey. Also, the structure of the facility is such that all of the doors open to the outside (not interior access from carpeted hallway) and the exterior overhang and the concrete or stone walkways make it incredibly loud when people are speaking outside. This alone is reason enough for us never to stay here again. Not a relaxing room at all.2. The linens are cheap and uncomfortable. The pillows are very mushy. For my wife that’s fine. For me it’s a dealbreaker. No support to the pillows whatsoever.3. The towels are cheap and very scratchy.4. The construction of the building is also cheap, the kind of construction you would expect any economy/budget Lodge. You can hear every footstep of the people above you. The ceiling and walls even reverberate (shake) with the movement of guest upstairs. As mentioned above, the room is incredibly echoey, because of the hard floors and the high ceilings, so the footsteps and other movements above are amplified beyond would normally be. Impossible to relax.5. Security is lacking. Very easy for anyone to get in without much effort.Overall, it’s a 2 star facility masquerading as a 4 star resort.IMO this was a waste of money and time.Would have given it 1 star except that those are too often glossed over and we wanted this to have a chance to have eyes on.
We loved our room and the grounds - weve stayed here before so that isnt a surprise. If that alone, I would rate the hotel a 5. However, I have two suggestions - first, please improve the service in the restaurant. It is sometimes slow and consistently indifferent. On the other hand, we had a snack at the bar this trip which was very good and prompt.Second - you should have some sort of store that sells batteries, toiletries, soft drinks, etc. - something like the Pantry in the Courtyard hotels.
March 2019UPDATE, stayed a couple of times more. This time was a winner:We have visited Allegretto a few times. Rooms are beautiful and impeccably clean. Artwork around the resort is wonderful. Only problem in the past has been the on-site restaurant Cello. Service was always a problem. Decided to eat at the bar this time. We were glad we did! Shelby was a delight. She was pleasant and took pride in the craftsmanship of her cocktails. Our dinner selections came out as ordered. Kobe was also great! For breakfast Sarah got the morning started off right! Glad to see the service improved.1st stayWe found the property to be very beautiful and relaxing. We enjoyed the pool area as well as all the interesting collections in the hallways. We would have rated this a 5 had we not had major issues with the restaurant the first night we were there. The service was mediocre and the food was truly awful. We explained to the chef what was wrong with our orders. I had the risotto and my wife the crab spaghetti. He didnt seem to concerned, did not offer desert or any compensation only to suggest we try it again. This was a huge mistake as we were there for 5 nights and would have had breakfast and dinners there but due to the attitude and uncaring nature we ate off premise the rest of the week. He didnt even enquire if we were staying on site, huge mistake. We found all your other employees to be very congenial and professional. Lani at the pool was very fun and professional and is a great addition to your staff. The older bartender was excellent and he was our first stop before dinner unfortunately it was downhill from there. Overall our stay was wonderful and we will be back.
Best resort in Paso by far. The staff is excellent and experienced. This hotel is beautiful, there is an extensive art collection strewn about the hallways and passages that make up allegretto. The pool is heated and the spa is always warm. The pool area has quite a few chaises where you can relax with a cold beverage in the afternoon. The rooms are very nice, the bed and linens are very comfortable. Good water pressure in the bathrooms. The hotel grounds are beautiful with a very warm atmosphere that entices one to stay longer. Allegretto provides an exceptional home base while participating in wine tasting. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to have a nice relaxing time while away from home.
The hotel is absolutely beautiful, inside and out. Our room was so pretty, and so comfortable. The bathroom was luxurious...so nice to have a big shower! Every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious, playing bocce ball was a great way to enjoy the sunset, and the bar was the perfect place to end the evening.
The hotel is very beautiful and thoughtfully decorated, even down to the smallest details. I especially liked the artwork and sculptures around the resort. The beds are comfortable and the room (suite) we had was beautifully furnished and quite large. The bathroom also was large and luxurious. Because we came during the week, the occupancy level was low and we would sometimes have to wait for a valet to appear, as the valets also performed the duties of bellboys. The one time I did call the front desk I did not get an answer and I had to call valet services a couple times before someone finally answered. The food in the restaurant was very good and of high quality and beautifully presented. My only complaint was that a cup of coffee or tea cost six dollars, which I thought was exorbitant.I would definitely stay here again when I visit the Paso Robles area in the future
Relaxing and enjoyable visit from the moment of arrival. We arrived very early so room wasnt ready yet but our luggage was whisked away and stored for us and our car put in valet so we could relax and enjoy the day with our friends. When we arrived back that evening our room was waiting for us after a very quick check-in and our luggage was delivered promptly. The rooms were nicely luxurious with many additional items to make our stay extremely enjoyable. The dining was phenomenal.
This is a more complicated review for me. The resort itself, the building and the location, all is very well made. Some might find the exuberant style too much, I would agree that the Asian and Egyptian elements are not necessary, but it is all done so well that it works for me. Where it disappointed us greatly is the service that is necessary for a luxurious experience. The restaurant was completely overloaded. 90-120 minutes wait time for dinner for a hotel guest is just not OK, especially when I can’t even make a reservation. Room service uses the same kitchen, so that doesn’t work either. We ended up waiting it out and ate at the restaurant. Unfortunately, the food wasn’t satisfying at all. Could not live up to the expectation the place itself creates. With that lack of special experience, it is then too expensive.
We had a wonderful stay. Everything about the hotel exceeded expectations. We were on our way back to the San Francisco area from Death Valley and decided to break up the trip with an overnight at Allegretto. The staff were spot-on in their attention and performance, from reservations to Front Desk, to the bar. The pool was perfect. The outdoor games - bacce, ping pong, etc - were so fun and really added to the stay for both of us and our 10 year old daughter. A+. My only criticism is that it would be nice to have pool service w/ possibility of ordering food, drinks, etc. There was no staff at the pool while we were there at all. This is minor in comparison to the great value and enjoyment we had at the property. Well be back!
We arrived late at night and were warmly welcomed by the night porter. Our room had a wonderful luxurious bed and sitting area that opened up to the court yard that had wonderful fire pits to sit by. The hotel has a lot of charm for only being two yrs old. I had room service each morning of my stay and ordered the same thing... Denver omelet... it was very predictable it arrived just before they said it would, always hot and the potatoe fries were always crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. We ate in the restaurant a couple of times and the food and service were excellent. Outdoor swimming pool is well maintained, lots of towels, chairs and umbrellas but could use some soft music. A pool guy would be nice to direct the ordering of food and keeping the ice water topped up. All in all we had great stay and plan to return!!!
Loved your hotel! Loved our room and being able to sit outside our room and enjoy your wine. Fabulous hotel and grounds. Staff was excellent!Made our granddaughters Cal Poly Graduation even more perfect! Will definitely be where we stay when we are back down.
The hotel & spa were amazing. Loved the atmosphere of the while place. The seating by the fire at night made for a great quiet evening. The main negative is food related. The restaurant wasnt the best. The quality of the food did not match the experience of the rest of the building. For breakfast we had a huge issue with room service. It was over 45 minutes, cold and I had requested no bell peppers and my potatoes had them all over. The bar had some interesting drink options but when asked for a basic Moscow mule I was still given something way over the top and not quite what we wanted. My wife and I will absolutely stay again but will make other arrangements for meals and drinks.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Allegretto. We received a warm welcome at checkin from Rich and Christopher. Our room was comfortable, the property is well maintained and we enjoyed the outdoor seating areas. The hotel is peaceful and relaxing and only a short drive from downtown Paso Robles. The staff did an outstanding job building a rapport with us, they made themselves available to answer any questions and help with all our needs. It felt as though we were spending the weekend with family and friends.
The lady who cleaned our rooms.... wonderfully nice! The twinsSam and his brother ...who helped us to our rooms and retrieved our car multiple times .... EXCELLENT!Chef Eric was super nice to my whole group. Very impressive presentation of food. Over the top perfect. And lets not forget BRAD.... who waited on us twice for the two dinners we enjoyed there.... great job. Truthfully we love staying at the Allegretto and everyone who works there are the most helpful staff I have ever come across. So keep up the good work. We will certainly be back!!!!
Excellent stay at Allegretto! Room was fantastic and the service was great. Very clean and well appointed rooms. Hot tub and pool are lovely. Only complaint is that the food costs are too high in the restaurant...$22 for a bagel??? Also really wish they had a frequent visitor program. We have stayed there 4 times now and would be great to get a discount as a frequent traveler! Thank you
The hotel is beautiful, the room was comfortable & nicely decorated, and the staff were all very friendly. The reason for not getting 5 stars is because the hotel was clearly overwhelmed at full capacity over the Memorial Weekend holiday. The restaurant struggled in managing basic services (bringing cream with the coffee, finding tea pots for the tea, delivering hot sauce when requested). The staff was very sweet but clearly unaccustomed to a full restaurant. Housekeeping didnt show up to clean our room until after 8PM! We were gone all day Saturday, and were shocked to see that our room had not been cleaned when we returned at 5pm. We called to inquire at the front desk and they nicely admitted that they were WAY behind. The hotel has the potential to be a 5 star hotel. Allegretto needs better leadership to recognize the increased service & staffing demands during peak times. The staff that was there was trying and very friendly, but clearly not trained or equipped to handle a full hotel.
Loved every minute of our stay.Beautiful well kept property. Nicely appointed, comfortable and clean rooms. Quiet area. Great amenities with pool, jacuzzi, spa, restaurant and bar, tasting room, ....And very dog friendly - they even have a Canine Room Service Menu!!Staff was exceptionally friendly and caring. Will be back!
This is a beautiful hotel. I especially liked the art work. The room was large and spacious. The bathroom had a fabulous shower along with 2 sinks. Our room has a beautiful view of the pool and vineyard. The fitness room was spacious. Next time, we will stay longer.
Absolutely fabulous!! Stunning hotel with amazing facilities. Our standard room was very luxurious with a gorgeous bathroom. The outdoor areas are beautiful to sit and relax around. Lovely pool area looking out over the vineyard. Dinner was excellent with wine from the house as well as others. Wish Id had time to stay for longer....😌
Your hotel is lovely, beautifully designed and decorated. We enjoyed just wandering around and looking at your beautiful artifacts, sculptures, art pieces, architectural pieces, etc. Your grounds and plantings were gorgeous, and we greatly appreciated the fire pits in the courtyard since it was chilly. Also, the room was so nicely appointed and the bathroom was fantastic with two sinks and a huge walk-in shower. Our door and terrace out to the pool and vineyards was a beautiful view.... very restful and relaxing. One area for improvement we would suggest is that there was confusion over the website reservation system: we thought we had signed up for a Sunday/Monday package, but the front desk at check-in did not have it reserved that way. Perhaps you could modify the website so that it is easier for customers to get what they want in the reservation? I think it would make things go more smoothly for all involved and create a better customer experience. It was our first time to visit your hotel, and we are sure well be back many more times as we are frequent visitors to the area.Thank you!
Beautiful place. Well taken care of, and well decorated. The staff is very helpful and polite. Sam helped us at the restaurant. Cello restaurant in the hotel. He made our experience so warm and welcoming. He suggested dishes, and they were amazing, he suggested wine, which were also very good. We were in a rush on our first day there to make it to the Sensorio light field, and he expedited our lunch and was so quick and prompt. We came back for dinner, we at our dinner at the table and took our dessert by the fire. It was a great experience and he helped make it better.
The hotel is gorgeous. There is lots of artwork around the estate. Rebecca (I think that was her name, blonde lady with glasses) was very friendly and helpful! We stayed from Sun.-Fri. for our honeymoon. We chose a patio facing the piazza. It seemed like good idea, but it is a bit awkward when there are people walking around trying to look through your doors. We did wine tasting and they are very friendly and accommodating. The Cello restaurant is good. We were going to order their house wine, but they ran out from over the weekend. I would also say the prices for breakfast are not worth it. Our burritos were $15 each and pastries were $12.My only issue was that we were not aware that there would be lots of kids (through no fault of the hotel). Our neighbors would wake us up at 6am every morning with their yelling kids. It kind of sucks since we were looking forward to a kid free week.We did not go to the pool because we were concerned about social distancing.
Nicer place I’ve stayed at in Paso. It’s close to the free way for us so that was a plus. The staff was friendly, and the rooms were nice. Dinner was spectacular as well. I highly recommend this spot if you come to Paso.
While the property is beautiful, the Villa experience missed the mark by far. We do not recommend it.Service was poor all around, especially in the hotel lobby and at Cello, the hotel’s one and only restaurant. The restaurant wait staff butchered our order, didn’t place it in time, and added extensive extras to our bill. This happened not once, not twice, but three times. They also did not split the bill among four parties. There was a level of rude and discriminatory behavior shown by the lobby staff, which made us question their level of training. For example, they have two fireplace areas in the lobby. They turned off the fireplace while we were sitting in one of the areas. But did not do that to the other group sitting at the other fireplace. The biggest difference between the two groups: they were all white and we were not. The staff threw around the phrase, “we just do what the owner tells us” quite a bit, leaving us wondering why the owner would be promoting bad customer service and discrimination. The hotel and wait staff is almost all white, which speaks to the locale, but also brings to light a lack of diversity. This gap extends beyond just a lack of diversity in their employees but seeps into the lack of cultural awareness in treating all customers fairly. You can hear people walking in the room above you. The ceiling lights shake as the upstairs guests stomp their feet. That’s what it sounds like, stomping. The shower does not have adequate space for your shower toiletries. There’s only one hook to hang up your robe or towel, not both. This makes it hard when there are two of you in the room. There’s only one pool, which is too small for the size of the property. Seating in the pool area is limited, cabanas need to be reserved, and the pool bar has a snack bar feel. The kind of snack bar you go to when you’re at your nephew’s high school basketball game. Not appealing nor fitting for a poolside bar.The spa doesn’t have any extras such as a sauna or relax room. No bubbly, water or tea is offered on the front-end of the treatment. Only a glass of water is offered at the end.The wines from the Allegretto vineyards were not good. None of them. Oddly, they practice biodynamic farming but are not certified organic. When asked why they weren’t certified organic, we were told that it simply “costs too much.” We found that to be a very questionable reason for a villa winery to opt not to get certified organic. The hotel located in a commercial business area, taking away any feel for a secluded hillside experience. There are no windy roads with pasture grazing to create the buildup of a country-side wine tasting getaway. It’s right in the center of businesses like gas stations, grocery stores, etcOverall, the Villa is lacking some key elements of a luxury resort. Unfortunately, because of that, our experience was sub par. We wouldn’t recommend a stay here to anyone.
Excellent, caring and friendly hospitality. Every public space and our room were very clean and beautiful. Doug Ayres art collection really sets this resort. The Cello Restaurant was superb for lunch and dinner. We really enjoyed tasting the Allegretto wines with Quin in their Tasting Room, and purchased wines to take home. We really enjoyed the very lovely and relaxing setting.
Beyond our expectations! Beautiful Hotel. Loved our room, clean and welcoming. The staff were extremely friendly. Loved all the artwork and learning the history about each piece. Breakfast at Cello was so delicious! Pancakes and waffles were some of the best I have had. Looking forward to coming back.
Very nice hotel. Christopher at the front desk (and also who made our reservation) deserves to run the hotel. We felt so welcome and he knew everything and was very efficient checking us in. We loved our room, had a fine dinner at the hotel and really enjoyed our stayed. Beautiful surroundings in the vines. our only criticism was that the music in the dinner room was obtrusive, way too loud, and not very good, and if they hadnt been able to seat us outside behind a closed door and provide a heat lamp, we definitely would have left and gone elsewhere. What were you thinking?
I stayed at your lovely hotel as part of a business meeting. I was overwhelmed at the lovely accommodations which were large, spacious and welcoming. The atmosphere was one where I felt I was in France or Italy, very special. The food was delightful and tasted delicious! Thank you for a great stay I hope to come back.
Fabulous resort. I was impressed with all the staff in the resort. We purchased a spa package. The spa was wonderful. The girls at the spa made sure our experience was amazing. Restaurant has the best customer service. Server made the experience exceptional and the food was amazing. We had a minor issue with the gift cards given to us with our spa package. Manager on shift quickly resolved the issue and took care of all the details. Exceptional service from the staff, I will certainly be staying here again!!
I have been to this hotel a few times now. Each time, this hotel has not disappointed in providing exceptional service and a beautiful experience. The on-site restaurant is spectacular with repeat quality. Their wine selection is quite varied. A few of their wines are even from their vineyard on-site and even the olive oil comes from their trees on-site. Talk about sustainable. The hotel has lots of beautiful pieces of art that can have you walking around the grounds for a few hours. Even the pool offers a very relaxing experience with its cabanas.Allegretto is an experience that offers everything from a relaxing spa to an enlightening museum experience.
We had a lovely stay at the Allegretto resort. We fell right in love with the architecture design and pleasant atmosphere. When we first arrived, we were welcomed by a Michael Buble like singer who was singing live at the grand-stair. It was quite a surprise and beautiful. The Cello restaurant was very nice as well and the food was very tasty. We will certainly be back again.
The hotel itself was beautiful both inside and out. I personally thought it was pricey for the sake of being pricey. The room had some minor disrepair- one of the sinks had some issues draining and the stopper didnt work. The curtain rod was off leaning against wall. Stopped in the bar for a beer- it was cozy but would be better off grabbing wine or cocktail for the price. The restaurant menu looked interesting but not enough to keep from venturing down the road.
Beautiful resort, great artwork and decor building a modern yet historic atmosphere. Excellent service, free valet. Very nice suite, bed was a little firm for us but otherwise exceptional for the price. Nice pool and cabanas. The restaurant was top notch, the fillet is exquisite. Would return and recommend to friends/fam.
We had high expectations after reading about the property and were excited to enjoy our time there. The property is beautiful but rather than feeling lush and part of the Paso Robles community, it felt very cold and contrived, looking as if it was built in the middle of barren land. I imagine this will change with time. The primary issue was that we were situated in a room 20 ft from an outdoor wedding celebration. Needless to say, it was noisy, obnoxious, and not relaxing as our stay was intended to be. However, staff accommodated us to another room that was satisfactory. Unfortunately the noise, having to repack our belongings for the move took away from our evening. I can’t understand what staff was thinking to put guests in such close proximity to a party with loud music, speeches over a microphone, etc. Why not put the wedding party/guests in those rooms? At over $450.00 a night, we expected a stay worthy of that price. Allegretto did not meet those expectations.
