Recently we had our wedding reception at The Green Monkey. Downstairs they have an events space. This was perfect for our group of friends and family. It’s intimate and yet plenty of space to move around. They had high top seating and Rusty made sure our guests didn’t go thirsty.Their new location in the heart of downtown is perfect for a private party and also to just visit and have a drink. Also there are a lot of fun and unique gifts on the main floor. There is an outdoor space that’s great on a nice day for guests to also gather and enjoy some fresh air.You will always feel welcome at the monkey. It’s diverse and has a great selection of local and craft beers. They also have a unique selection of wines.Back to the party, I highly recommend using them for your next small reception/party. The Staff of Cameron Court apartments love doing business with Green Monkey! I reached out to Rusty for help with marketing move in gifts and he was able to custom designe the most with our personal logo. The feedback from our residents has been outstanding and we were so happy with the products we received and the value of our purchase. Very cool, local craft bar for a chill/cozy time. Lots of good/cool knickknacks, souvenir, local product type of gifts. Definitely a good spot to grab a drink and a potential gift for people visiting. LGBTQIA+ super friendly, definitely give this spot a try

I was so impressed with my first visit. Great place. The owners are very friendly and interactive. Our group had a fundraiser that went very well and the guys could not have been more giving & gracious with their space. Highly recommend. I plan to go back as they have some really cool stuff in the store.

Was in town with my son for the weekend and came across this shop. When we first walked in we were greeted with a smile and a themed button which who doesn’t love a button, right?I absolutely loved everything about this shop. Was in Raleigh for the weekend and wandered in to the Green Monkey. Stayed a couple of hours playing Bingo and even won twice! Fun place and wonderful owners.

How have I not rated this gem before???? The Green Monkey, in their new location, is brighter in lighting and the space is clean and welcoming. Rusty and Drew are terrific humans, supporting the flourish of downtown Raleigh. They’ve expanded their bar to include liquor and non-alcoholic mocktails in addition to beer and wine. And their gift shop has grown too! Come shop local, drink local, support an awesome small business and enjoy downtown!

What a SUPER FUN place for a drink and for a daily event! There’s a monthly wine tasting, weekly trivia/games and live music on Friday and Saturday. Always a GREAT time, great drinks with a supportive and friendly atmosphere.

It was one of the first openly inclusive spaces I found when I first moved to Raleigh.The co-owners Rusty and Drew are some of the most friendly people youll ever meet and will always greet you with a smile. They take the time to learn your name and genuinely learn about their customers.Aside from the amazing owners, the atmosphere is bright, cheery, and FUN! They have an amazing selection of bottled beer, wine, and a great tap selection. The have reward loyalty program where you earns points per visit to the store or online with a minimum $5 purchases. Your points really add up over time. The gift shop contains novelties, games, apparel, and many items that are locally crafted (which I really appreciate.) They host trivia, bingo, movie nights, and drag shows, so youll always have something fun to do solo or with your friends.Did I mention this place is dog-friendly? This final note seals the deal for me, knowing I can bring my four-legged friend to enjoy The Green Monkey Family with me.

Wanting cute, eclectic, and fun with a bar, this is your spot! I got the warmest welcome from Drew as I walked by, and he invited me in. I was quickly taken in by all the cute and funky socks, cards, cups, and other items floating around the store. As you go to the back, it opens up to a bar with wine and beer for sale and to sip. I grabbed a can of cider and was told to come back anytime.The owners made me feel at home and were so happy that I was walking around downtown. I plan to return the next time I am in the area. Would love to sit and have a drink with them! A must go to in downtown Raleigh!!!

Big thanks to Rusty and Drew for allowing us to rent The Green Monkey Fellowship Hall. We successfully hosted a fiesta wedding party. The fellowship hall easily held 30 guest. Hannah kept everyone beverages topped off the entire night. The margarita’s were perfection! The sound equipment and Led color changing lights took the event to the next level. Consider the Fellowship Hall for your next event you will not be disappointed!

My husband and I love The Green Monkey! We come there a couple of times a week, usually in the evening and have never felt threatened or unsafe. Parking is very convenient, there is a city parking garage practically next door! And Rusty and Drew are awesome proprietors and just a joy to know!

Locally owned by a very friendly/lovable (Rusty and Drew) gay couple, so it goes without saying this is a very LGBTQ+ friendly bar ( which Raleigh needs very desperately) they only serve beer for now, and offer an eclectic gift shop. They were hosting 3 bluegrass musicians ahead of the IBMA festival. So it was a special evening so the place was pretty full. But it had a good vibe that we want to checkout at another time. Good beers & lots of neat items for sale.

This is such a wonderful and welcoming place! I sat at the bar by myself, a little overwhelmed at a large networking event one evening and Rusty talked to me and made me at ease! I was given a Monkey Fan pin and right away I knew I had found a place I could relax and be myself. Rusty and Drew make it a point to welcome everyone from all walks of life. While particularly affirming to the LGBTQIA+ community, everyone from the young NC State students to the older folks who remember many fun references in Wednesday night trivia can have a good time here. I live in Durham but this place with the wonderful gift shop in the back is where I truly feel at home!!

Though I am not a consumer of alcohol (I can’t talk about that) I can attest that this is one fun place to go to. I love the trivia games that are played that elevates the fun level. This place is really something special. The owners AND all the friendly people at the bar welcomed us when we came in! Just in Raleigh for business, looking to find a drink and had no idea that we were walking into one of the coolest bars for tons of great conversation. SO many thoughtfully sourced gifts to look out, I nearly spent my whole paycheck! We have been to this place twice now and, both times, felt very welcome. Great staff and neighborhood bar. Very eclectic crowd with a mix of all kinds of people so no one seems to feel out of place. They serve wine, craft beer, and snacks. They also have a small gift shop of different items. If you need a meal first, there are dinner options nearby. A great place to visit for good conversation and drinks with a great mix of people.

Rusty (owner) is very friendly and helpful. He hand-picks everything in his store from local artists and sells them at fair prices. Alex is also really wonderful - theyre both really great to talk to. The Green Monkey is pet friendly and hosts many weekly events, including visiting bartender nights and doggy buffets. This is local shop/beer bar at its best- I love their selection of NC and Raleigh shirts made by local entrepreneurs, I no longer have to look that stuff up online, its all here. I also enjoyed the mix of home goods and art all done by local artists. The owner was friendly, I will definitely be back
