That is the worst place you can choose to stay. They charged me a $50 deposit that after a month they still havent returned to me. the door of the room would barely open. The room smelled bad and highlighted the smell of old and cigarette. They had nowhere to throw garbage. The sheets looked like they hadnt been changed and werent clean. The toilet was splattered with urine, a sign that they never did the cleaning after the previous guest left. Noisy old air conditioner I could hardly sleep. When I entered the room and turned on the bathroom light there was a cockroach on the shower door. I ended up leaving in the middle of the morning because the itching in my body and the discomfort of the place did not allow me to continue there. Honestly it was a nightmare and I do not recommend them. Im still waiting for my $50 deposit to be returned.
I booked a room online for my elderly father who was traveling home. The website showed a total price of $81.75 to be paid at arrival. I called to ask if I could pay remotely, and was told no - that was not an option. I sent an email to their corporate office with the same request before calling, and they responded with a link to pay online. By this point, I had already sent my father the money through the bank, so he could pay on-site. He arrived at the hotel shortly before dark. The clerk told him the credit card machine was down, and he would need to pay $180 cash to stay there, and $50 would be returned when he checked out. This is much different than the $81.75 we agreed upon. He did not have $180 cash, and had to leave. I contacted the hotel to cancel my reservation, and explained what happened. They declined, and my card was charged 1 nights rate - which was $81.75. I feel this was a scam by the employee (why else would it be cash only?), and they targeted my senior citizen father, ultimately leaving him without a place to stay after driving all day. I will be disputing this charge with my credit card company and contacting the BBB. This has become a huge headache, and I urge anyone to avoid this place.
Took 15 minutes to get a room I had already reserved and paid for. Had to pay a surprise deposit in cash; told I wouldnt get it back if I paid credit. Room was not clean. Hair in my bed. Pee in the toilet. Trash not taken out. Floor dirty. Had to ask the lobby for a towel. Dirty washcloth in bathroom. One of the worst hotels Ive ever stayed in
0 stars!! ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!! I just spoke with a woman at checkout who had to sleep in her car with a newborn baby because the office closes at 11pm leaving no contact for staff at any point. Imagine paying for a room you cannot get into because your key card doesn’t work and the numbers you call don’t work there anymore. Our towels were badly stained.Mine had rust all over it making it looks like a shop towel and my business partners was heavily stained with what looked like pink hair dye.The rooms were filthy and smelled like dog.The numbers posted are numbers of ex employees leavening no direct line to the hotel or staff. They charge you $5 to reswipe your key if it deactivates. Was there 11 days and had to go ask for anything I needed and was still turned down for put off.Our tv didn’t work.No garbage basket. No microwave. No fridge.Beds were so bad we used an air mattress. The office closes at 11pm and doesn’t open until 7am. I regularly travel the country and I e visited most states. With that said being said this is probably the TOP 5 worst places I’ve ever stayed.
First of all the hotel is not called OYO I think it was Dogwood Inn so it was a bit difficult to find. Second the rooms were so bare you got one towel and washcloth that were dingy white, one bed, no chairs nothing else to sit on, a TV that had no remote and had the wires hanging out of the wall. I mean I’ve stayed in some dumps before but this was the cleanest dump I guess I could say. The front door would not lock because it was so warped. I was charged $50 deposit, When I booked I was never informed of the deposit.,and I am still waiting for it to be returned to my card five days later. Please please do not stay at this location until it is 100% refurbished ..
Definitely the worst weve ever stayed at. The room smelled like stale cigarettes. The shower enclosure was rusted, the drain screen was not secured. No blow dryer, only one hanger. No refrigerator. The sides of the mattress pad was stained. TV remote didnt work properly. Overall disgusting. No coffee maker.
There is a $50 cash only deposit that isnt listed online. We dont carry cash so had to go to ATM. ATM only gives $20 and of course they didnt have change what a surprise. Left a day early and the blonde lady in the office said they dont have the deposits on site to give back if you leave early so they have to mail it. I said yep so I wont be getting that back. They said the GM has to issue my refund for the day Im leaving and that only the GM can do that. I told them I wouldnt be getting that either. My wife went to the office several times to get them to clean the room and they said they would send someone up but never did and when I adresses that at checkout they said my wife never said anything. The number for the hotel doesnt work. When you call from your phone it dials and then the call ends. There were bugs in the bathroom floor, the shower was not cleaned like ever, there were no towels, wash cloths, bath mats, etc. The lock for the door was broken, curtains were broken, upon leaving it looked like there were bloody footprints going into the room next to ours. The ladies at the front desk are rude, no people nor customer service skills. Was told the GM would be in at 7 am this morning like that matters because as I stated they have no working phone. Hotel needs to be torn down and the people need to be fired. Worst place Ive ever stayed. Pretty sure the beds in my room had bed bugs because I felt something crawling on me. DO NOT BOOK HERE.
This hotel is amazing!! Miss J the manager is very friendly and helpful!!! They treat everyone like family! The staff went above and beyond to make my mom and I feel safe and comfortable. At first the microwave I thought would be an issue being in main lobby but it was clean and was nice to go up and heat something had the bed and breakfast feel! I have stayed in a lot of hotels up and down the east cost and I will make this a permanent stop when ever in the Savannah Georgia area the bed was super comfy no aches in the morning! Rooms were clean and well maintained...if your looking for a safe friendly place where you can feel relaxed and enjoy your stay with friendly curtious staff make this a stop on your vacation! This is best hotel on the east coast!!!!!
Our stay at Dogwood Inn & Suites was so pleasant. We would absolutely stay there again! The rooms were newly renovated and were so clean/ tidy. For me cleanliness is a huge thing when staying somewhere such as a hotel. The room smelled really clean and pleasant as well. I loved the little barn door accent in our queen suite room. I also want to say how kind and helpful everyone was at check-in and check-out. As well, everyone I passed who worked there always greeted us with a kind smile. Though It may not look like much from the outside, I would highly recommend staying here. The prices are excellent as well! Thank you for a wonderful stay Dogwood inn & suites!
Worst hotel I have ever stayed at. 100 dollar deposit to stay. They prefer cash and tell you if you use a credit card you may not get the deposit back. Ok now im ready. Oh im sorry the room isnt ready. So they send someone to check/clean the room. They then send me up to check it out. Quick glance no major issues I can see. Get the room and now I can really relax. Nope walked bathroom to inspect shower. I find a hairy bar of soap and several socks behind the trash can. Went to front desk to alert them and they send the maintenance man up to remove the items. Hes cool he gets 5 stars. So after returning it notice no towels or wash cloth. Went to front again. She calls a young lady in and she takes me to the laundry room and hands me a bundle of wash cloths and towel all unfolded but warm. Shes cool she gets 4 stars. After returning again I decide to really inspect the room. I found the floors to be unswept and not moped. Bugs still on floor, hair, some type of brown drops on the floors. Very disgusting. I guess its a family business. The older maintenance man with the toddler helper is very nice. The younger maintenance man slim guy very nice. The cleaning lady that gave me the towels is very sweet. The lady at the front desk seems nice I didnt have any issues. I saw several other guest get upset at her but I dont know the reasons. Nasty hotel overall. If they cleaned the rooms frequently it would be 3 to 4 stars
This hotel name is really the dogwood inn. The pictures online that they post for you to rent the hotel is not even close. The building in the rooms need to be updated and clean. And please dont forget pest control and animal control. This hotel remind me of that movie Joes apartment are an episode on Martin. The manager that works there was nice and he Accommodated us in our kids with he could. We were tired from driving 6 hours.so we cleaned and sprayed for bugs and made the best of it. The kids were happy and thats what matters. But he needs help to renovate this building. With all that said we did have a great time in Savannah Georgia.
Warning! Do not stay here. The rooms are trashed and have water damage that produced a strong mildew smell. The AC was filthy and I actually cleaned the filters myself. They charge a Cash Deposit (for what I do not know?) because the rooms are trashed when you get them. The cash deposit is conveniently forgotten when you check out and they also charge the deposit to your card. The Pool is Stagnant and the roaches are everywhere. Then they also charge a $12.00 debit card fee. Police chasing people. Some guy shot a gun off in the parking lot. The Health Department needs to shut this place down.
Room cleanliness was suspect. Pool had algae floating in it for most of our stay. The hotel did upgrade us to a suite when we pointed out our original room had not been vacuumed, but the coffee cups in the suite had caked on gunk, the mini fridge dripped water in the ice box, and there was no TV remote in either room of the suite (hotel staff gave us one to use when we asked). The staff themselves were friendly and helpful, and we didnt see any bugs in either room, but I really cant give this an enthusiastic recommendation, even for a budget stay.
The suite I stayed in was the size of a small apartment which was very nice. I was very much surprised for the amount I paid decent priced. The only thing is the carpet needs to be cleaned and vaccumm. Staff was nice and friendly only problem is while I was washing my clothes I was told I had to pay $5.15 to wash clothes Its not posted anywhere in the laundry room and I was told that it was on the paper when I first sigmed in but I dont recall seeing that or being told that.So please if it is $5.15 to wash clothes please post it where it can be seen also notify the guest when they are checking in because when I check in to hotel I just sign the paper I thought it was just a receipt. Anyway other than that stay has been nice quiet friendly and clean. Would recommend this hotel to others.
Not professional, cockroaches in room, not enough towels, nickle and dime on things, bed was nice, and wall mounted ac worked well. They said theyre trying to make it better, but it didnt seem like theyre trying very hard. They charged me 50.00 dollars on my credit card for room deposit. They said it would come back in 3 days. They dont answer the number. I think they are scamming people. The corporate number when called off of Google maps representative said 7-14 days!!! Are you kidding me!!! Dont stay here!!!!
The manager on duty at the front desk (Jacques) was great. He was very friendly and helpful and quickly resolved a couple of minor inefficiencies when I first checked in. The hotel is not very fancy, but neither was the price. The room was missing a trash can and the bed did not have a top sheet. The television reception was a little fuzzy. There was only one (not-so-large) bath towel and wash cloth. The area near the hotel offers plenty of places to shop or eat. If youre looking for a bare-bones, convenient, inexpensive place to sleep, this will work for you.
Upon arrival we weren’t sure about this motel being off away from the road like something from a horror movie BUT the exterior of the hotel was well kept, guest were around the pool playing instruments with a jazz feel so that was cool & interesting. They have medicine & hygiene products available in the tiny lobby for purchase. The Lady at the desk was nice & patient because she came around to our room after we called, to show us how to turn on the shower.. it was slightly tricky. Our room was clean, small for three people but we just needed one night and they do have suites available. Breakfast was very simple but no complaints you still have choices. The only reason I didn’t add another star is because their shower could definitely use updating, other that it was a nice clean motel w/o sketchy activity, great for passing through, I would stay again
Very very very bad experience false advertisement mold and mildew strong smell soon as u had to force the door open to get in. Stain bleach sheets and curtains dirty stained carpet. 2 little pillows with no pillow cases man it looked like a crack house. And dont try to get your money back pointless. They hang up on u and it static and hard to understand and hear them. They pool black and old grills thats broken and chairs and bucket all around the pool it unhealthy and need to be shut down. The rooms look as if it havent had guests in years. And need I say more? No StarI was informed by a pass employee and resident of that hotel that they wanted four millions for the property knowing if not worth it only to collect $400.000 from the government every year and you could imagine what race. Any way I was got.No Star I had to give them one to even post this.
This is a convenient location for the following reasons: directly off of the Interstate, nearby fast food and restaurants, fuel stations, liquor store, Kroegers grocery store and a laundromat. The customer service at the Inn was excellent, all the staff we encountered were friendly and professional and we got the impression that they took pride in the establishment. The breakfast area was clean and had bagels, cream cheese, fruit and fresh coffee. We stayed in a room with two Queen beds. The sheets were so soft and the bed was comfortable. There was a luggage cart and an open closet for hanging your clothes. The TV had lots of great channels and the Wifi was easy to connect to and ran at a good speed. The room was clean, but in need of upgrades, especially the bathroom. A tall person or a larger person would have great difficulty taking a shower! This was not a problem for us, but it could be very uncomfortable for another guest. For the price per night it is good value, but we stayed at a different hotel for $10 more per night and got much more in the way of amenities and comfort. So we would recommend Dogwood for a one night rest on your travels, but not for an extended stay.
I stayed there 2 weeks. Great staff. They do a great job keeping it clean considering it’s age and wear. Did not see one bug in our room the whole time. Lounge chairs by the pool need to be trashed. Not usable. For the price it was fine I would definitely go back.
Great staff! Clean rooms, very comfortable, they’ve cleaned up the place very nicely! They’re very friendly and answer any questions needed. I myself and my husband will definitely be staying again! I’ve heard a lot of negative things about this place but honestly I can see why most of the guest just don’t get everything their way then want to shout at people thinking it’ll solve something. Treat others how you’d like to be treated.
Staff was nice & friendly, LITERALLY THE ONLY GOOD THING ABOUT THE PLACE. The front door wouldnt shut unless you slammed it. It took two hours to check in. Laundry door was open and there were blankets, sheets, and pillows all over the floor and stacked to the ceiling. It did not look clean in there. The people in front of us found fleas in their room. The man behind us couldnt get a key to work. Super sketchy area (DID NOT LOOK SAFE AND I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE KIDS). Would never stay there again.
Man this place was terrible. We stayed 5 minutes. Was given a different room. They didn’t even say they had to change room. Then when we asked after seeing the room was told the room we was going to get, was no longer available. Then room we finally did receive was dirty. Saw bugs, no pillow case on pillow. Hair in the sheets and covers. Asked for a refund. Said they couldn’t do it. Called booking.command was told they said we never showed up. So how did they take a deposit for 50 on my card. That they never refunded. After two weeks had to dispute it with my bank. Been almost a month and still no refund for the room. Booking.com saying that there still not answer them. Had to email the check in receipt for proof.
Really good experience. Staff was welcoming and helpful. The site was right off the interstate. The hotel was nice and well kept. The only thing that I wished was better was the beds. They just were to hard for my liking, but it was fine. I also loved that it was pet friendly; even though we didnt bring our dog I like to see companies support people and dog relationships.
This hotel was a colossal disappointment. The pictures on the website are deceiving. We got in at about 1:45 a.m. I had indicated on my reservation (in the notes section) that we would be arriving late and that it might be as late as 2-3 a.m. When I got there, the front desk clerk was not very friendly and told me that I was lucky they still had my room because they normally give them away after midnight. So, theyd give my room away AND charge my card for one night? That doesnt sound right. She charged my card upon check-in for our two night stay. Then, when we got to our room; the odor when I opened the door was enough to almost knock me over. I cant describe the smell but it was extremely unpleasant. So much so that after tossing and turning until around 6 a.m. (on the plus side the bed was comfortable even though I had to cover my head with one of the pillows to try and block out the noise from above me and the smell from the room) when I finally got up and went to the front desk where I was greeted by the same unfriendly clerk. I informed her she was going to have to cancel my reservation for that night as I wasnt able to sleep at all and the room smelled terrible. She told me she wasnt authorized to issue a refund on my card and that her manager would have to do it when she came in at 2:00. What hotel/motel doesnt have a manager in the establishment from overnight until mid-afternoon the next day? I asked her for the managers number. Thankfully, the one thing I am grateful for is that my refund was processed. I did ask her if there was a less smelly room she could switch us to instead of cancelling and was told, See, the thing is; we dont have any other rooms. I paid over $90 to be in a room for just over 6 hours by the time we left for a room that I couldnt even get a decent sleep in.Aside from the smell and unpleasantness of the one employee, the room was small and sparsely furnished. The bathroom was tiny and had an extremely weird bathroom set up. It looked like the remodeling was a cob-job of sorts.Im not sure how this place gets good reviews online unless I am the most unlucky person on the planet and got the one crappy room they have - which I highly doubt. This is a place we will never stay again and would never recommend to anyone at any time. While the prices may be decent; the price you pay to stay here is NOT worth it.Look elsewhere, drive the extra few miles to the next exit, or sleep in your car. Even that alternative would be more pleasant.
Rooms are very clean, but small. Cant help that since its a remodeled older hotel. Theyve done a nice job though. Affordable rates. The Suites are just two rooms combined turning a bathroom into a kitchenette and sofa in place of where the bed would be. The beds (by the way) were pretty darn firm. For some strange reason they assign rooms to a persons reservation and wont just fill rooms at your arrival. We got there 30 minutes before check-in time and even though there were clean rooms, they would not allow us to check in because our room specifically was not ready. Now, to be clear: I didnt reserve a very specific room, they assigned me the room. Which meant we could not check in to any of the rooms are already cleaned and waiting for customers. So we had to wait until later after we went to an event we had planned and check in at around 11 at night.Breakfast we were told was from 6 to 9 a.m., but there were signs on the doors saying 7 to 9 a.m. The breakfast was toast, biscuits, waffles (with one waffle maker), or cereal. My daughter said they also had juice so its actually more of what they call a continental breakfast. Dont expect eggs or anything like that. Not a bad thing just not very clear on what it was to be.
Blond lady clerk is completely irresponsible, and with bad attitude not helpful at all. And probably lied to me about the price and cancellation. I was looking for a motel in the area and found this one. On Google maps application the price was around 50-70$ in all the apps like booking, Expedia etc. I came to the place at 10:55 at night and asked for a room. clerk told me 150$ plus 50$ for deposit.Probably wanted to scum me for some cash. Online Prices and walk in prices usually differ for like 10-20$ but not 90$. I decided to book online in the app for 70$. She said I can pay the deposit only with cash. I asked if I can get it back on the next day but she said only after 9 am. And I have to leave by 7 am. So I asked to cancel the reservation. Clerk refused to cancel it and she told me she can not do that which is a lie too. I know they can do it. In the booking app I couldn’t cancel it. The app will still charge me even if I don’t show up. I called to Booking customer service to cancel it and waive the cancellation fees. They told me the motel has to cancel it not them. It’s just a nice scheme they have no f how to to get free cancellation fees from customers and randomly raise the prices when it’s convenient hoping customer will not check
Horrible! The most worst place weve ever stayed. The first room was completely unacceptable living. The second room wasnt much better. No refrigerator,no microwave. No cold water in shower. Never will we stay there again. No stars from me. I wouldnt put my worse enemy in that place.
Pros: one of the new owners checked us in, very friendly and gracious as we arrived very late at nightBed comfortableRoom cleanInexpensiveNew security cameras around the placeShower was hot with good pressureCons: one of the lights didn’t workSmelled like smokeNo smoke detectorNo towels or bath matNo spool to hold toilet paperNo bathroom trash canHot and cold in the shower is reversedNo battery in the remote to the tv to turn it offPool is greenThe overall place is in good condition just needs maintenance. Hopefully the new owners will be able improve the place soon.
Hotel requires a $50 deposit which was told I would have back on my car within 15 days of stay…it’s been almost a month still no return of deposit. The rooms had 2 towels. No bath mat no toilet paper. Front desk was ver rude. False name when booking because the name at the property is different. The phone number they provide on receipt is invalid and not a working number. Call the number on Google and they give you the same number as receipt claiming that’s the only number they have. This hotel is garbage and falsely taking your money for a so called room deposit. Only reason for this booking was for St Pattys day in Savannah and it was the cheapest not so overpriced and we found out why. I would highly recommend to stay anywhere other than this place who seems to take your money and leaves you with a disconnected number no longer in service and no way to contact them.
Extremely fraudulent company. Paid ahead online and received no notice of check in time. We arrive after 11pm to a locked door stating check in end at 11pm?? What hotel does that but doesn’t tell you! We were left stranded and had to drive around for hours looking for a place that had a last minute room. I was told no refund through OYO as “the policy is they close at 11pm”, even though we were not informed of this during booking or in our confirmation email or even on the hotel website!!Place is filthy, scamming, downright creepy with limited lighting in parking lot and wrong name on sign. Never had a worse hotel experience and I believe any positive reviews are fake accounts from the family who owns it.
The room we stayed in was amazing. It was clean, the beds were comfortable, the towels were soft, coffee/tea/hot chocolate were available at any time of day in the lobby. The atmosphere was great, the staff were friendly and accommodating. Well definitely be staying here again!
This family has a nice little hotel and they are strict but polite. You will not go wrong checking in to this little pearl. The location of this Oyo is an advantage too. STOP who goes there?? Trouble?? Yes its trouble and it comes in the form of thievery . Upon check-out I was waiting for my deposit ,when I was shocked to find out that: I received so many noise complaints I would not be getting my deposit back!! This is a quaint little hotel staind by the ideas of greed and what harm it has done to this hotel. The stay was quiet and safe . The management not so . The management of this great little hotel has injured my 4 star grade and made it 3. Management quit stealing from your customers. They are the ones that pay the bills!
I do hope someone reads these reviews before falling for this SCAM of a hotel. Im pretty sure they are using this property to just launder money or something. My boyfriend and I had reservations here for Thanksgiving.Firstly, the name listed on this page, Capital O Hotel is not the name on the sign out front. I drove around the block before I realized the Dogwood Inn I passed was the hotel I was looking for.Secondly (which I didnt realize for a bit), there was no vehicles in the parking lot. It didnt even occur to me when we pulled in, I guess I was distracted by the cute porch and the pretty roses that were in bloom. We walked up to the door, still not realizing anything was amiss, but when we tried to open the door, we found it was locked. Odd. There were no lights on in the lobby and thats when I realized that something just wasnt right. My boyfriend says, Oh look, a sign. The sign read, Closed in observance of Thanksgiving.Umm... Excuse me? I have a reservation today.I get on the phone trying to reach someone about my reservation, go through the whole rigmarole and finally reach a person, only to find that I cant hear her due to a poor connection. It sounded like she was talking through a crinkling bag of chips. Meanwhile, my boyfriend has gone exploring and what he found was disturbing. He had wandered into the Courtyard area where he discovered trash scattered about, broken furniture and a pool that was greener than the grass out front.Still unable to actually talk to anyone about our reservation, we had no choice but to find other accommodations. I reached out to Booking.com since that was who I had made the reservations through and explained to them that there was no one on site to check us in and therefore we had to find another place to stay and because of this the cancellation fee should be waived. They said they would reach out to the property. A few hours later I got a call from my banks fraud department. The property DID INDEED charge me a cancellation fee ($111) and when I checked my messages on Booking they said, Sorry, we cannot waive the cancellation fee.Excuse me, what? Yall arent where youre supposed to be when youre supposed to be there, and I have to pay the bill for it? Um, I dont think so. And no, it wont take me 2+ months to get my refund like the last gentleman this happened to. I am a formidable foe whose bank apparently has an amazing fraud department. Yall done messed with the wrong lady.
I like the idea of having a place to bring my pooch, but I was not happy with the Dogwood Inn & Suites. The sheets bed padding wasnt clean. There was either dog hairs or human hairs all over the bed padding on both beds.It was a double bed but one bed was to close to the unit.No refrigerator, microwave, or iron in the room. The shower wasnt freshly cleanse. The curtains looked old and dainted. The bed skirting was clean or just out dated. I do not recommend.
It was the most horrible experience I have in a hotel my whole life. The check in took an hour and it just a couple before me thats it. The employee looks like is his first day at work without trainning. Doesnt know how to use the computer. When finally made it gave a room key for a room that is already occupied. Then when I returned gave me 2 more rooms none of the keys work!!!!!! Back then my family are waiting 2 hours for a room we are tired and frustrated. Decided to left an drove 4 hours back home. Explained and the employee said he is going to take care of everythingStill waiting for the refund and the deposit for a room will never stay and is more than a month!. Hotel.com said they can do anything because the hotel doesnt respond their calls! Never visit this place, is filthy, lack of customer services and thiefs.
HORRIBLE!!! I didn’t even finish checking in before I left. The service was rude and trashed talked in front of you. They don’t pay attention to the reservations. As I had reserved 3 queen rooms for 1 night with 6 people, they tried giving me 1 room for 3 nights. I corrected them and they said well I can do double twin rooms. We were supposed to pay a $150 deposit that we would get back when check out, but only if it was cash. The lady literally said some people have been waiting over 6 months and still haven’t gotten it back. Well I said no thank you as you couldn’t accommodate my needs. Yet she still started the process. As we were leaving another customer came in wanting a refund due to dead and live bugs, nasty stained mattress and bedding, disgusting floors and what look to be gum that was left in the shower along about your dirt and mold. They was told to step outside. Well when the manager talked to them, they came back in not wanting another room but a refund and was told no. I asked to see the photos and OMG WORSE THAN A DUMP!! As we pulled out we watched them show another customer several rooms and each one the customer looked more angry and upset about the condition of the room.
My room was bit small, however it was clean, modern and very comfortable. I was just passing through and needed a place to sleep. The flat screen TV had HD channels and many channels to choose from. There was no refrigerator or microwave. There was a hairdryer in the bathroom. As I do for every hotel room I rent, I did check for bed bugs. Mattress was clean and comfortable. For the price I paid for the room, it was a bargain. I highly recommend if youre looking for clean, basic room.
DO NOT !!!! I repeat DO NOT get a room here. Dont make reservations because if anything goes wrong with the payment plans then you wont get your money back. They dont even have a phone to make a reservations. Me and my fiance tried calling and they say they dont have a phone or email for the hotel. They say they are a Christian business but there was no xhriatioan in them. Dont be a black person because they gonna try to makenit seem like we trying to make them out to be racist. I went off and showed my black side about my money. People dont have one to just be throwing away like that. And they expect us not to get mad.
Very disappointed with this stay. We had stayed here a few years back, when it was still the Dogwood Inn, and it was a plain, but quite acceptable room.I booked one night through booking.com and the rate was good. When I got there, things got strange. First, what used to be an open area with a counter was now closed off, with a thick acrylic window and a tiny slot to pass the credit card. The sign still said Dogwood Inn and I asked the person behind the glass about it, to be told they had no idea that the name had changed. Then I was told I would be charged a $50 deposit (not a hold on my card, a full charge). This for a $55/day room. I was told they would refund it after 2 weeks. Since we had to crash and were tired, I said OK.The room was like Jekyll and Hyde. The bedroom part looked nice, the AC worked fine, the furniture seemed fairly new, and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was a nightmare. The toilet valve was stuck (I fixed it). Only one of the two taps on the sink had water. And the shower was so dirty/moldy that we chose not to shower and just wait for the next hotel. No refund happened after two weeks. Booking.com said to call OYO. OYO said to call the hotel, and gave me a number that did not work. I ended up disputing the charge on my CC.
The room was small, but was very clean and looked like it had been recently updated. The beds were comfortable and the sheets were really soft! The staff was very friendly. My only negative was that breakfast was lacking...We did go on the later end (8:45 and it closes at 9), but there really was barely anything left (basically a few pieces of bread, waffles, or a couple packets of instant oatmeal). Also, the coffee was really watery. Other than breakfast, though, we really enjoyed our stay! We would stay again (except go out to breakfast...).
Extremely friendly staff. Room was very nice...not fancy, but very nice. Loved the front porch. Breakfast was good. The young woman working the breakfast area made it fantastic! Never used the pool...had been up for two days and needed sleep....and it was cold. It was very clean though. Really enjoyed our stay!!!
Was looking for an affordable place to sleep for two nights and found this country style hotel was iffy about it because not many reviews and not much info on the place how ever decided to risk it and booked it. It was amazing for what I paid. I paid 43 dollars a night and the rooms were nice and clean small but that wasnt an issue for me I shared the room with my mother and my husband and my child the pool area was very nice and the staff was super friendly our room was towards the back by the pool area so I couldnt really hear much noise from the outside like some of the other reviews mentioned. I will definitely recommend this place to anyone who just needs a place to rest or stay for a few days. Two things I didnt like no fridge In room or no iron had to go buy an iron to iron my clothes.
Grossly overpriced. We stayed at this facility on May 6, 2017. While our room was clean (possibly because the place was just renovated), it certainly was not worth $112.14 for one night (that included senior citizen rate and a $10 pet fee). The room was so small that each of the two double beds were flush against the wall on one side, making it necessary for the person sleeping on the wall side to climb over the other person in order to get in or out of the bed. There was no chair, no table or desk, no microwave, no refrigerator. Every other hotel weve ever stayed in that cost $112 or so a night, had all of those amenities and the rooms were much larger. In fact, weve stayed in hotels that charged considerably less than $112 that had all or most of those amenities. The room we stayed at here was what youd expect to find in a $40 to $60 (tops) room. I do see rooms on Dogwood Inns web page today that are listed at far lower rates than what we paid. Perhaps the management realized that their rates were out of line and recently adjusted them, or perhaps we just got screwed. IMO, if this Dogwood Inn wants to succeed, they may want to consider bringing their rates in line with what similar hotels in their area charge for comparable rooms. I know that we would never stay there again unless we could get a larger room with some amenities at a rate comparable with what other hotels charge, and I suspect that there may be many others who might feel the same way.
Had room 115... Would not recommend. Staff IS very friendly (gave me extra towels), thus the 2 stars instead of only one but shower only seems to do cold water(fiddled with it for quite some time), internet and TV did not work right despite resetting, no chair to sit in in the room (only a bed), I paid for a queen bed but definitely got a double instead ( especially upsetting when one is sleeping with a partner and needs the space)... Also no microwave or fridge. Be prepared to rough it until their renovations are done. At least the A/C and heat worked... Sad.
Newly renovated. Clean rooms great affordable rates. Staff is awesome and attentive to each guest. Mrs Michelle and the new GM are very helpful and any time I need something with my room they are quick to get it fixed for me.
Hands down worst experience I’ve ever had. I had made a reservation over the phone and when I got there to check in they told me my reservation was cancelled and there was nothing they could do. It was 11pm, and I had both my boys with me. Don’t trust these people, they will pretty much screw you. I had heard afterwards from another hotel in the area that they cancel peoples reservations all the time. Staff was extremely unprofessional, and the lobby smelt like B.O. I don’t even wanna think about what the rooms looked and smelt like.I’m not trying to be overly harsh, this was just my experience.
I stayed 2 nights in one of the suites. The bed was very comfortable. My husband travels with his own pillows to avoid sleepless nights but I found mine to be the perfect firmness. The shower is hot and powerful. Rooms are clean and loved the barn door separating the room from living area. It was convenient to have a coffee pot in the kitchen as well as I hate to get dressed to go get my morning coffee. I highly recommend staying here if you are traveling to the Savannah area. Pet friendly too!
My girlfriend/partner was terrified!Although tis is an older outdated motel it used to be our 1st and last overnight stop on I-95 whenever we did road trips up north. We stayed there many times and there used to be always someone in the office and we always felt safe there. We travel with over $100,000 worth of gear and we were always able to reserve a room on the front side and park right outside our door. The LAST time we stayed there was terrifying. The motel was very dark, there was nobody in the office, and we were given an interior room even though I requested an exterior room close to the office. After navigating an exterior hallway with mop buckets and trash cans, the room we got was fairly clean, but was in terrible disrepair. The paint was coming off both in the wall in the room and the back of the bathroom door. The bathroom door was so out of whack that you had to lift it in order to close it.Stayed here many times. Never again!
My daughter and I stayed at the Dogwood Inn on our way to Florida. We chose this hotel based on the reviews and price, and we were not disappointed! We were greeted warmly and slept amazingly well in our comfortable beds (with super soft sheets!). We were pleasantly surprised at the variety of items available for our complementary breakfast - even the coffee was good! We highly recommend this hotel and hope to have the opportunity stay again sometime. :)
Great place! Got the basic queen room for a good price. Very basic, but for 50$ it was a great deal, especially since they were dog friendly! Felt safe walking the dogs around, and there was even a field behind the inn. Safety is huge for us when traveling for an art show, and we never felt or saw anything shady. About lost a star since the shower was a little scuzy and bathroom needed an overall update, but got the 5 star for how surprisingly nice it was for a 50/night room. Got to try the Local on 17 steakhouse across the street!
Quite frankly, the most disgusting room Ive had & the worst overnight Ive ever done. A change of plans made me look for a place to bunker down before hitting the road again. The sign looked attractive, so I walked in and booked a room. Tired, I just wanted to hit the sack. it was 43 out, so I turned on the heater. I cranked the temperature higher & higher. All I got was cold air! The room was disgusting, so I didnt mind pulling out a cold weather sleeping bag I had in my car. I flipped on the TV just to catch up on some scores. No TV! I found out in the morning the cable was down. In the morning, cold as it was, I wanted to take a hot shower. NO WATER!!! I tried turning, pulling twisting, bending, nothing! The desk clerk tried to tell me I just didnt know how to work it. I work for a company, that designs and builds water fixtures! In the morning it was bright in the room. There were spiders crawling about, stains on the walls and ceilings, mold in a wall corner and filth on the floor. It was the type of place youd see in a 70s or 80s horror, slasher movie!
The staff here are the best staff in the hospitality business!!!! No exaggeration! From the night shift to the amazing ladys in the office during the day.My wife and I had car troubles while traveling to Florida and they all went out of there way to help us.The rooms were clean, they have a pool, theres a small continental breakfast. They allow PETS!! And offered our dog a treat at check in and while we were waiting for our rental car. This establishment was the only glimmer of hope in our whole situation.I would definitely recommend this place to travelers if they want some true southern hospitality. I now know what that meansThank you staff of the Dogwood Inn!!
Enjoyed our stay since it was only one night. Brought up the fact I saw a few roaches and the front desk attendant apologized. The pool was a little dirty but for the price it was good. The lady at the cafe worked very hard making sure everyone had what they wanted. Definitely would stay again as long as I dont see any more roaches!
Totally misleading ... PRICELINE needs to remove this MOTEL from their list! We viewed several rooms before finding one/two that didnt smell like MOLD MILDEW MARIJUANA... they charged a $50 deposit for each room rented ... a lot of repairs are needed or demolished.. rented for 2 nights only stayed 1 ... had to wait until the rental agreement was over in order to get the deposits back! The front desk operators were very apologetic... but that didnt change the service or lack thereof ... a pool is advertised but inoperable... WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS MOTEL TO ANYONE or ANYTHING!! Oh yes there were ROACHES! No microwave or refrigerator available in the rooms...
Terrible, Misleading, & Nasty! Dont waste your money here. We did an extended stay for about four weeks. It was all we could afford at the time and I believe they took advantage of that. The room we were in had a leaky ceiling, a broken window, and BUGS. Not to mention there was no cable or wifi our entire stay. The rooms are never cleaned to general or COVID standards. The fat guy working the desk named Dewayne, constantly tried to scam us. He would ask us to pay him cash under the table (his exact words) every time we came to the office to extend our stay. He would tell us that the system was down and we wouldnt be able to pay till later. Basically trying to back us in a corner to where we would either have to pay him cash or leave. We finally got tired of it and contacted the owner of the hotel who did nothing but raise the amount of our room by an extra $200.I honestly dont know how this place is legally still running. The business is operating off of desperate people who cant afford a better hotel. Thankfully we found a place closer to Savannah where we found a way better extended stay around the same price. Dont book here! Eventually it will be shut down for the way it is ran.
Nasty and disorganized. I reserved on booking’s website only to arrive and find the hotel has a different name and the entire design is different. The bed was good, the bathroom was ok but the floor of the shower had mysterious yellow stains and bumps on it. The shower head 🚿 kept popping off and had to be finagled back on. Also I needed to modify the length of my stay and the front desk was unable to modify it stating booking would have to modify, booking said “Oyó” would have to modify, and I didn’t know who oyó was ask the hotel stated they are not Oyó.
I got the room for $50 for a night before fees. I was skeptical at the price, but the reviews gave me comfort. I was not dissappointed. The room was very clean, even being a pet friendly one. Hardwood flooring might be a dissappointment to some, but it was very welcoming as it ensured the room was clean, and made it feel more roomier. The only trouble we found was that the ceiling in the bathroom seemed to be worn, but completely dismissable. Would stay again for an even longer stay.
Definitely not a place to stay for more than one night. The beds are very uncomfortable. Our door had no insulation whatsoever. We could hear literally everything going on outside the door from traffic to people walking by. Our door was also broken. It wouldnt close unless you slammed it very hard. It is also one of the tiniest hotel rooms I have ever seen. The bathroom looks nice but the shower was dirty and poorly designed. The water is aimed right at the door so youre guaranteed to make a mess. Its also very small so you will definitely hit your elbows on the walls and have difficultly turning around. Our room had no tissues at all. It also didnt have any sort of clock. This is definitely a bare bones type of room. The hotel was very recently redone, but even if you throw a fresh coat of paint on a turd, its still a turd... The staff was friendly though. They do have free WiFi and free breakfast. The breakfast is nothing to write home about. Very basic but its there. Overall, I would probably not recommend this place to anyone looking to spend more than one night here. Its basically just for sleeping and like I said, even that wont be great because the beds suck. Book at your own risk! You have been warned.
This place is not professional and not responsible for over-booking, which we got confirmed for the stay and paid our stay already few days ago. When we got to the reception, there were already many victims like us. Even we had to waste our time to wait in the line just to talk to the management and they do not even try to talk to the customers and laughing. Worst hotel experience ever I had. Also the property picture on Google or Booking looks nice, but it looks terrifying in real life. Be very careful about your choice that can be made with easy click for the nightmare.
Only reason why I’m giving this place 3 stars because the front desk people were nice to me.so was the cop that brought me there. I was driving through GA headed to Virginia and got stopped for speeding which turned into another situation where I had to stay here for 1 night.so that’s what happened here. The check in people were so nice to me. BUT I haven’t received my deposit back and it’s been about a month going in 2 months the lady told me it would take about 15 days and it’s way pass 15 days I just would like my deposit back please. The room was ok the tv had about 4 channels the shower was really small like a European shower the door I had to slam it close the wifi didn’t work but I mean it was a place to stay .
The facility itself was decent, and served the purpose we needed. (somewhere to sleep, have our dog with us, and for the kids to swim)Issues we ran into: when making reservations its no problem for an early check in, earliest would be noon or 1, when it came to that day the staff told us they could do 230 early check in because they didnt know what time housekeeping would be there. We had banked on the earlier time, because we needed our dog in air conditioning while we went to an event. The second was breakfast. The staff seemed super put out by assisting with the low supply of food for the ratio of guests. I heard a complaint that the receptionist wouldnt get off the phone, and there was no other staff to be found. Someone else said it would be nice if they had dairy free options for breakfast. They put out a large number of poptarts, but you cant tell what flavor, and someone was complaining that its Russian roulette... I have an allergic reaction to certain flavors. It would be nice to know what to grab!Ran out of juice and milk, and the assistance we only worried about the amount of time that breakfast still had to run. She didnt seem too worried that people were standing in a line waiting for food, she was just counting down the clock so things werent over portioned
This was the worst experience ever we didn’t even end up staying we went and paid for a different hotel. First of all the name is different on building then on the actual app when your booking. We had a 2pm check in got there just before and they said that we had to wait a half hour we had been in the car 24 hours. So we waited a half hour later we where told rooms still weren’t ready so we kept waiting and finally a little after 4pm we got our room we went to check in and we found live roaches in the rooms, mold, holes in the walls, carpets were clearly dirty. Needless to say we ended up leaving and paying for a different hotel. This place is awful please never take the chance.
Because I stayed on for awhile. I had a chair ripped to shreds by another guest, promised I was getting it replaced. And that wasnt enough when I went to move out the new manager made me pay $120.00 to get the last of my belongings. He pulled me out of the room by force, and shut the door. My daughter and I had to pay 120.00 to go back in the room. My best friends husband past away in May, the manager took the money collected and ran. The place has no heart. Unfortunately due to covid a few families were out of options, so they live there. The old manager scammed me and others by charging extra rent! Dont waste time or money. Pay a few extra dollars and go somewhere else!
Many red flags. Its “SCAM”, its not Capital O but its Dodgewood inn. You wont find this as a Capital O Hotel.I was not to book this one after reading reviews a week back, but Expedia still got me here and bymistake somehow ended up this. All the previous reviews and these all are true.If you dont get any place to stay and this is ur last option still dont stay here. Sleep in car but in this motel. Its nightmare.1) Room are smelly, mold, I saw cockroaches myself.2) Had to change 4-5 times in half hr1st room: 1 got one queen bed room even after booking of two bed.2nd room: firealarm making sound. Not just this several other rooms alarm too. Those are not repaired.3rd and 4th room: Doors were not opening.5th room: AC not working, (heater)6th room: Shower not workingback and forth room to Reception/registration/front desk.Since we were tired all long day, ended up with 6th room. Since we two friends were there.Never try to book this if you are with family, girlfriend, or anybody. Its nightmare, Unless you want to experience some haunted motel experience.Staff is friendly and good, probably they need to act like that. Somehow I felt like lady there act like she dont know about problems there. Its scam. Its actually Dodgewood inn.Its scam, nightmare. Will update more about all horrible experience I am had.
Great value. Place felt clean and safe, it was dog friendly, and convenient to 95. The owners/managers have put a lot of thoughtful touch into the renovations like quirky doormats and the Dogwood cafe. Check-in staff was very friendly. You wont find much better for the price. Would likely stay here again on one of our future trips.
The inn was hard to find since sign was broken and leaning away from our sight.Check in was fine by Megan, who a little later took care of getting TV in bedroom working. We had reserved a queen suite, which had a separate bedroom and kitchen and living room...plenty of space. We didnt have a stove in our kitchen, but we had a microwave oven. We had no tissues, so had to use toilet tissue for that purpose. The trashcans were not emptied during our 3 day stay. The towels were rough, but plenty for our stay. Breakfast was included, but had its problems...even though plenty of oil spray was used, waffles stuck to the cooker...they ran out of bread and other items on our second morning, ran out of coffee one of the mornings. The price was very reasonable, and we were fine with our room. We might stay again.
I came during a really bad thunderstorm, so the power was going on and off. However, the lady at the front desk was super friendly and very apologetic that the system kept shutting down due to the storm during check in. She had that true southern hospitality. The rooms had no fridge or microwave or closet. The doors were thin, we could hear literally everything and everyone outside. But for the price point it was clean and convenient. Free Breakfast included fruits, fruit bars, oatmeal, french toast sticks, fresh waffles, sausage and cereal, along with juice, coffee, and teas.
Nice little place to stay. The employees are fantastic! We left our very expensive pillows in the room by accident. I called and they we supper sweet about sending them to me. The shipping cost was way less than it would have been to buy more pillows. To me, they went above and beyond! Id recommend this place to anyone. Thank you so much!
Roach bugs, alive and dead, and in my bed. Black mold in bathroom.Microwave had some kind of yellow grease in it. Fridge was also nasty, There was alot, and i mean alot of hair in the drawer, like a collection. Folding chairs stored in my room. No towels or wash cloths at all. Or sanitizer as advertised. There was dog food loose on the dresser. The staff seemed to be a family, fighting, yelling, and cursing late after midnight. No tv, no wifi, as was advertised. Never received my 100$ deposit back. And my card was charged twice, took way too long to get that staighted out.Do Not Stay Here Period.
You get what you pay for. The first hotel as you come off I95 N. Room doors are external. For smokers you must smoke 15 feet from building. No soda machines. One ice machine. I got a standard room with double beds. They are full size. Room is so small one bed is pushed up on one wall and the other bed is pushed up on the other wall and there is a tiny path between the two beds. No mini frig. No microwave. Two tiny pieces of furniture in room. A fold up metal chair. Shower, no tub. Im on the backside of the hotel. There are 4 outside lights, only one works. That is a safety issue. There is a pool, one of the reasons I picked this hotel, but the pool water is green. It is Aug. The pool should be clean. If you stay here, dont expect anything great. Super disappointed.
This hotel is horrible. I booked a queen suite off of booking. When I got there I paid cash and got a receipt and they still charged me off of booking on my credit card. When I got to my room they gave me the wrong one. They gave me just a double room that was very small. The room was not at all clean. The face plate to the outlet fell off, the bathroom vent was falling off. There was hardly any toilet paper. There was a weird hole in the wall that had plastic cups shoved into it. When I was trying to figure out what it was I could see installation and cords inside. I went down to the office and waiting for someone to come back and no staff every showed up so I left. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone!
Low quality kind of nasty, bugs roaches never and clean rooms or clean towels sheets. Long term stay or one night. Will always have drama and bad business management and house keeping. Place doesnt have ice machines, housekeeping working with their kids in and out of rooms. Way to many housekeeper for not available basic house keeping. If you look under beds behind dressers and more you will always find something behind the last guess. Rate should be 37$ for low quality inn
The front desk staff is knowledgeable of the area and very helpful. I forgot to order a suite with the kitchenette, and thus didnt have a place to store the perishable food, and ice packs I brought with me. Jelisa was nice enough to keep it in the office fridge/freezer until I left. The bed was comfortable in my opinion and I had no trouble falling asleep. I had no trouble with the shower but I could see how a person larger than me might have problems with it.
Horrible. This is like a trailer park in motel form. Seems like the gma bought the old Dogwood and is letting her whole family and grandkids live and work there. Theres 10-15 of them, they all think they run it and I received 2 threats from 2 different ladies trying to take my cash deposit for something petty. No mini fridges so expect food being left out and bugs everywhere.I will say the Water was hot and the ac was cold. Bed was trash and the floor turned my socks brown @$50/nWhat a final memory of leaving Savannah, thank yall.
Staff was great. Hotel recently upgraded, but not entirely clean. Hair in the shower, and two drops of fresh blood on my clean sheets.Staff apologized and brought extra bedding right away.Found a few pieces of garbage under the bed when checking to see if my kids left anything. Had the place been cleaner, 4 stars.
We called and double checked by looking on the website and it said we could stay here if we were 18 (we are 19). Their website had misinformation and we were turned away. They said there was a $50 deposit, which was also not stated on the website. Manager was very unprofessional and turned us away with no concern. The whole area smelled like smoke and the managers were smoking outside when we walked in. Do not recommend staying here. We felt very uncomfortable with the staff and the whole situation. We did not end up staying here, but the place was very scary.
Rented a room through this hotel through air bnb. Staff is very nice and accommodating. The first room we received smelled moldy however, when told about the situation the staff gave us another room and were very nice about it. The new room is perfect for what we needed. There is a pool, laundry, and breakfast also available. Pets are also welcome.
Along with many other people that were deceived by the reviews, my husband and I immediately left this hotel and booked somewhere else after we checked out the room. Our room smelled absolutely disgusting, I couldn’t handle being in there. The beds were completely covered in stains, hair covering the beds, brown stains on the mattress, burn marks in the carpets. This room didn’t look like it had been touched in years. Every piece of this room was filthy. We immediately left the room and found a different hotel, and this was after 15 hours of driving. These photos are absolutely deceiving and I would never recommend staying here.
There were dirt in beds. Only one of the lights between the two beds work. The bathroom the remote in the shower. There was no toilet paper. There were no towels no no soap no shampoo no nothing like that like they said there were. The TV did work but you had to plug it up. The cable was not working at all! There was no internet! There was a refrigerator in there but it did not work at all and it had mold in it, so we unplugged it. There were bugs in that room. There were no iron, no iron board, no coffee maker. It was a fantastic place to get food like the area but as far as renting a room from I will never ever, ever stay there I would rather stay in my car!
We only stayed one night but it was a very nice stay. We had a queen suite which was very nice. The woman, Deann, at check was great and so very helpful. Being right next to 95 I was surprise how quite it was. We have a dog that we travel with and need a refrigerator for medicine. plus need a first floor. The pool looked great but since it was raining didnt use it. Price was very reasonable.
Travel a lot and this has been the worst experience ever. My husband and I checked in and figured it couldnt be that bad, from the pictures the hotel looks very clean and nicely kept. The pictures are a solid lie. When we got to our room it looked a little grungy but it was decent for us. Then we were laying in bed watching TV and saw a cockroach come in from under the door because the weather stripping is falling off....my husband tried to kill it but it went under the bed so I got down with my flash light to look under the bed and there were 3 cockroaches under there! There werent any plates over electrical outlets and they could have come in that way as well. Had our room changed to a room upstairs and in better condition. Got to the room and checked under the bed and found rat poop and a Reeses cup and other crumbs...later the following day we opened the bathroom door and it broke off the top henge! Waited for the repair man to come for an hour and he never showed. Went to the office and the girl said she forgot to call and tell me....we FINALLY were able to get to sleep. Will never stay here again.
We made a reservation for this hotel through Orbitz, and arrived around 8pm on 4/2/2022. Not sure what the actual name of the hotel is; Orbitz has it as Capitol O Hotel, but the sign at the hotel said Dogwood Inn. This should have been the first indication it is shady. When I got to front desk, there was somebody complaining that he did not have cable. The receptionist at desk said half their rooms do not have cable. The customer stated the room description said “free cable.” The receptionist relented and said she would get a box from another room. When I got to the desk, I told her I had a reservation for two rooms, which she claimed she could not find, but they have 2 suites available. I stated I have the Orbitz confirmation number if that would help her find it. She rudely responded “if you made your reservation through a third party, you need to call them.” Then I could see my name on her computer screen, and I said there is my reservation. Then she asked who is staying in the second room, and I told her my daughter and her friend, both of whom are 16, but I will be paying for it. She stated that an adult has to be staying in the room with them. I have never heard something like this in the dozens of trips I have taken and got a separate room for the kids. She would not back down so I left. Luckily I found another hotel down the street. Then I went out eat at Bubba’s (excellent restaurant), and there was someone complaining to the waitress about the hotel. Her response was, we get that all the time. I am surprised that Orbitz let’s this hotel remain on their sight, when the rooms don’t match the description and they refuse to honor Orbitz reservations, if they can get more money for a room.
Total flophouse. No towels or trashcans in the room, old sheets from the last guest were thrown in a corner of the room. VERY shady clientele, felt like I was sleeping in a crack-house. Paid for 2 nights, only stayed one night, and never got a refund I was promised. OYO was no help in getting my refund either, a total scam & fleabag operation. There are a lot of other motels in Richmond Hill, do yourself a favor & pass this one by. Not worth the cheap price.
The queen bed room was greatly overpriced ($117 which included a senior discount and $10 pet fee). We paid this amount because we were traveling with family who booked their room at this inn and we wanted to stay with them (which we later found out they had booked a 2 double bed through Expedia for $43 plus tax). The reason I say overpriced is because when you compare the amenities you would get with other hotels at the same price you are not even close. But first let me say when we came in the room a cockroach fell from the ceiling onto my wifes head. Not a good way to start your stay. Now about amenities (keep in mind I am talking about having to spend $117 for a room, which I dont mind to spend that amount if you get your moneys worth), The room is tiny. No fridge. No microwave. No coffee maker. For $117 a night these should be there, no question. Again, the room is tiny. The bathroom had no tub and only a corner shower that you could barely shower in. There was a grab and go breakfast. I went twice for coffee and both times the coffee dispenser was empty and the grab and go biscuits were gone. I dont mind spending $117 a night if you get your moneys worth but you dont get it here. The only positive, they are pet-friendly with a reasonable pet fee (thank you for that). We will not stay here again.
Stayed for 6 days. Nice location. Felt safe. Beds comfy. Room super small. Staff nice. The only thing that was unpleasant was the odor. Im not sure if it was the bathroom or the old carpet. It seemed most noticeable when the fan was running. The room wasnt dirty but the smell kinda put me off. We got air freshener that seemed to help. Oh and the shower was odd, it was a walk in shower in the corner with curtain, the shower head faced the wall. It worked ok just odd.
I am not blaming the staff because for the most part they are very friendly and helpful. However there a few issues with this place. First, it is now the Dogwood Inn. Second, no refrigerator or microwave as advertised online. Third, for the week I was there, neither the wifi nor the cable worked. I am sure that once everything is completely remodeled, it will be much better. As I said its more the building and lack of amenities that were the issue as the staff were very friendly and professional.
Sadly, I will not be able to stay here and likely will not book with #oyorooms in the future. I had an 8 night stay booked, but did not get to the hotel on the first night. They cancelled my entire stay and took the entire payment. Yes, the cancellation policy enables this company to do this and they make no exceptions. They will not allow me to use the 7 days remaining on my reservation and thank you for the $$$. (I outlasted the customer service supervisor trying to go higher up.) Lesson learned. #oyorooms #bad hotel #travel #hotels #cancellationpolicy
My family of 6 was pleasantly surprised to find this little gem on the way back home. We were a little concerned when we pulled up from they very motel look of the place and made sure we locked our car. Normally we stay in nicer hotels than motels. The room (a suite) was very large/clean, and the initial appearance was very nice. No bedbugs/roaches or any other unpleasant critter I could see. The beds were nicely made, and everything was in tip-top shape from a cleanliness standpoint.Unfortunately, my problems lie with the workmanship of the remodel they recently underwent. You could tell there was some very shoddy construction work done to the rooms, tile was uneven, lots of caulk, the tile around the door frame was horrible. The icing on the cake was that some idiot plumber switched hot/cold behind the walls, so I had to turn the shower to cold in order to get it hot, and the hot was actually cold. It was like this on both the shower and the kitchen sink. None of these seriously affected my night, some were more humorous how many corners were cut.Breakfast was provided, if not a bit cramped in the provided space, but it did well in the end. Lots of the good stuff you had to heat up with a microwave rather than it being pre-cooked, but hey, it was included in the price and filled the bellies of all my family. You could make waffles, and that was about all that was hot you didnt have to microwave. In all, it was a nice, unexpected place to find on the side of the road, Im thankful for the other reviews, as I probably would have never gone here if not for the experiences of the other guests.
This place is ok. You get what you pay for. Its super cheap and you just cannot expect it to be a 5 star resort.Good: They are dog friendly, front desk is very friendly and quick to resolve your problems (first room we got was not cleaned, key didnt work. They fixed each problem in 1 minute with a nice smile on their face). Beds are clean and fairly comfy. The Bad: Rooms are small and they have that cheap motel smell. Their free breakfast consist of terrible coffee and some frozen Great Value branded items that you have to microwave. There are many people, 1 microwave and a tiny little kitchen area. Just skip the breakfast, ok?
The room had holes in the walls, large spots of paint missing, sticky carpets, sticky tile, musty smell and the smoke alarms were disconnected. In three days, no one came to clean the room or bring fresh towels. There is no breakfast as noted in the Google description. The staff was purely apathetic. Do not stay here.
The place was horrible! the room was not cleaned properly with stains on the bed linen. There was a hole in the bathroom wall they stuffed it up with paper towel. The toilet still had dry feces on the side. There is no way no one should stay at that place. Nasty! The only good thing was the guy who was checking in guests, he was friendly.
I think I already made a review before but I have to say the hotel experience has been made even worse. Not only was the hotel itself bad, but there also isnt any accurate contact details. I lost my airpods in my hotel room and I have literally nothing to contact them with. I have called any number associated with them and many booking websites for more numbers and none of them have worked for me, all redirecting me to the default Verizon wireless call when a number is not in use.
Cleanish, small room. No microwave, fridge, or coffee. Bathroom outlet did not work. Floor not clean around the perimeter. On the up side, the price was very reasonable, and the staff was outstanding. We stayed here before and it was nicer, but its changing yo an OYO. We wont be back.
If we didn’t get in last night at 9:00pm with a tired one year old, we would have tried to find a different hotel. You definitely get what you pay for. We arrived to our room and were immediately overwhelmed by the smell of mildew. The air in the room was damp. The shower floors were sticky. There was what looked to be small amounts of dried vomit around the toilet and a weird stick substance spilled under the sink. The toilet paper wasn’t changed from the last guests (less than 1/3 of the roll was left). The carpet in the room made our feet black. The bed wasn’t moist throughout the night... you could feel the moisture in the air on the sheets. The mildew was so overwhelming that I woke up with a sore throat and a cough. Thank god we were just there to sleep. We woke up at 5am so we could get the heck out of there.
We had a pleasant experience at Dogwood Inn - just stayed overnight with our toddler, on our way up to Asheville. Had a room by the pool - it was clean but did smell musty and was humid inside. Friendly staff. Like another reviewer mentioned, there appear to be families living long term in some rooms. Enjoyed the pool! Decent room at an inexpensive price. We HIGHLY recommend The Local restaurant across the street, excellent meal there!
My room has no hot water!!! The rooms are smaller than average, have no extra amenities, and I wish they had more electrical outlets and had them more conveniently located. Their breakfast is terrible! Its only kids cereal or waffles and they run out of coffee with no one to refill. My room faced the highway and was very noisy. The grounds are nice but the rooms are below average, and not providing at least warm water is inexcusable.
Look it maybe the hotel or the app I used! I used snap travel and pictures of rooms looked good and prices after everything was around $150.00, it was Saturday of this saint Patrick weekend. Snap travel you can not cancel as we found a hotel that was a different name after going in circles. After seeing the hotel and saw reviews on that hotel not a chance I was having my 12 year old son staying at that place.
Rooms are dirty, very run down and smells of cigarette smoke. The bed has a depression the size of a hippo in it. No exhaust fan in the tiny bath, small towels, no ability to get any channel on the tv, no instructions for wifi. Im sure in some of the worst 3rd world countries this would be considered luxurious but it is the worst Ive ever seen. No vermin seen yet though some of the guests give me pause. My husband will never be trusted to book a motel again.
This is a hotel that I would only stay it if I were picking something last minute and didnt have many other options. The room was clean-ish and so were the facilities. My biggest complaints were these three things...1. loud children woke us up very early in the morning and the staff did nothing about it2. we were only given 2 towels for our stay and 2 rolls of toilet paper.3. breakfast room was way over-crowded and the only thing we were able to grab was a stale pop tartApart from these things the visit was fine, but I probably wouldnt return if I were to visit the Savannah area again.
Worst place ever! The room smelled like vomit🤮and the floor was filthy, keep your shoes on cuz bottom of your feet will turn black. Not pet friendly. Worst guest service and housekeeping, you get one towel and one wash cloth. They don’t even have working phones on the property. Honestly they don’t even deserve the star I’m giving them 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼
DO NOT STAY HERE.Please if you care about your well-being, do not stay at this motel. Once we got there we had to leave. This motel changed their name to Capital O Hotel but its labeled as the Dogwood Inn when we arrived. This place says it follows protocols and just from waiting at the entrance none were followed. They do not disinfectant, they do not have contactless check in and out, they do not wear personal protective equipment. While we were waiting to be checked in we can smell through our masks an overwhelming amount of urine and cigarettes. the maskless attendant was helping a customer and provided used half toilet paper roll. We also spoke had three expedia agents to try and contact the hotel and the management REFUSED to refund our money even though we tried cancelling when we got there and didn’t stay there. Any of reviews that gave them more than one star are fake. I wouldn’t send my worse enemy to this scammy place.
The only thing good about this stay was the staff that checked us in.It started off with someone smok9ng marijuana in the parking lot before we even got inside to the office. The room was dirty (we stayed in the Clara suite) we had a family of 6 and couldnt even use the pull out couch bed because it was so uncomfortable. We ended up pulling the mattress off and sleeping in the floor. There were also no sheets in the room for the pull out. With a suite I feel like the expectation of more than one set of soap should be met without having to ask.Their were many people out at night and in particular the 2 inebriated men near us who eventually had the police called on them in the middle of the night.Beds were pretty hard(some people like that.)The coffee maker seemed as though it hadnt been cleaned in ages, which didnt really matter since there was no supplies for it anyway. And see the photo of our smoke detector. Hire new housekeeping and set rules for noise on your grounds. It does no good to pay for a hotel if it is so loud you cant even sleep.
EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING!! The room looked nothing like the pics. It was very musty/moldy smelling and had a dehumidifier sitting in the room. The dehumidifier was full of water. When I went to the bathroom, there were 2 dead roaches lying in the floor. The next morning when I turned the shower on, the only water that would come out was HOT!! I had to take a bath in the sink. At 8;15am, I walked down to the area where breakfast was supposed to be.....there was nothing....no coffee.....nothing. I went back to my room, packed my bags, and went to another hotel even though I had paid for 2 nights. I seriously cannot recommend this place.
It was a room to sleep in when passing through GA. Room was clean and updated. Hot and cold water was switched on the bathroom sink and hot water took some time when Turing the shower on. Breakfast was better than expected. Only complaint is that room was listed with 2 queen size beds when in reality they have 2 full size beds or 1 queen size bed.
This hotel and their business is completely ruined and fakedThey connect to Priceline with the fake name and when I came to the hotel, they said that my name is not on the list and asked my to pay $150 for the night plus $50 for deposit. Meanwhile, priceline already charged me only $60 for this roomThe lady at front dest was extremely rude, she refused to talk to the priceline help line person and said that the hotel don’t have the phone line to answer any of the problems questions. What kinds of hotel business is that without phone to do customer service. They brought all their baby and children to the front desk saying that this is not their business and that they refused the service to them because I and the help line from priceline trying to seek a clearly explaination from them
Made my reservation for two rooms 10 days before our stay and confirmed the day before we arrived. One room was right, but the other room (I’d reserved two doubles for a family of 3 with a 12-year-old) ended up being a room with only one double. Hotel had no more rooms, no cot, no couches, nothing. The bed was so small that one adult had to sleep on the floor. We got the correct room the next day. When I called on Monday to ask the GM Melinda Beatty to comp the room for only the first night, she was rude and dismissive, tried to blame me for our organization using too many rooms, and offered only a half-off coupon for the first night on the grounds that we had “a room.”When I tried to explain why her offer was insufficient, she interrupted me repeatedly, would not let me talk, and then hung up on me.I would give zero stars if I could.Update (March 12, 2018): I did speak with owner Bryant Maude and he refunded the first night of the problem room, apologized for our inconvenience and GM response. Thank you for your prompt and helpful handling of our problem.Update to the update (March 13, 2018): I just checked my credit card and actually Bryant refunded both nights for both our rooms. That’s more than I expected but I deeply appreciate it.
This was one Of the most st disappointing stays in a hotel in a while. The brochure does NOT look at all like what you get. The ‘hot’ southern-style breakfast was frozen biscuits & sausage YOU had to prepare yourself in a microwave. It was incredibly dirty and there was garbage in our room (underneath the beds). Very disappointing! We would never have stayed there, but given it was spring break, everything else was booked.
No one should be staying at that hotel. We refused after waiting 2 hours just to see a room that wed already confirmed because of the star rating over three stars and the pictures which were quite beautiful but it was not that hotel what they are doing is fraudulent. And someone needs to stop them before more people waste their time like we did. The place was disgusting and thats putting it mildly I dont have the words to describe how nasty the place was. Or the things that were going on there that were known Im sure to the management since they were part of it.
When I arrived a Capital O, lobby was closed.I didnt notice their check in time is limited until 11:00pm.So I must stay in my car and went sleep. At 7:00AM, I requested check-in again, but they rejected my request. So I lost my 1 night accomodationalthough I made a reservation and made a payment. After I was rejected by them, I could find thattheir policy in the bottom page of Hotels.com page. Its very hard to see it, if I easily see it, Ill notmade a reservation for my stay.Ive enjoyed travel and stayed in lots of Hotel more than 10 years. But its really first time to sleep in my car!And manager must stay his counter, but not only me,but other customers were very hard to reach him.Furthermore, toiled was blocked, and room key was not working. This accomodation must be improved!About limited check-in time,Hotels.com must cleary mark it.But when I made a reservation, its very hard to find it.
We have stayed there several times during the fall of 2017 through the winter months of 2018 with satisfaction. For our lated stay, April 28, 2018, not only did the price double, but the room was dirty. The bathroom door would not shut. The shower door would not stay closed. Had the AC set at 66, and was hot hence no sleep most of the night. After speaking to the front desk the following morning, with absolutely 0 satisfaction, I can no longer recommend this motel to anyone. We had utilized this motel for a halfway point from Kentucky to Southern Floridaduring business and pleasure trips. So now we will look elsewhere.
This is an older rundown hotel they have dressed up to be decent but there still some issues. Check your room before you commit.Review:The pool on the property is ok, nothing fancy or big.The breakfast is good. It is continental style so its just muffins, pop tarts, etc. The eating area is a bit small though so plan ahead or you can eat on the picnic table outside. The location is perfect literally right off the interstate and it is only about 10 minutes or so from Savannah. There is plenty of parking and also plenty of places to eat in the area. The rooms are a bit small, but the furniture is newer and nice. The beds are firm but not terribly hard. Our experience:Upon arrival the front desk clerk Megan was a very friendly pretty southen lady, and made the check in process pleasant.Sadly though after checking in we learned there is no elevator on the property and we had a second floor room. This was a challenge because our son is in a wheel chair. The hotel was completely booked as were the others in the area so we had no other option but to carry him up and down the stairs. We stayed in a suite room but encountered some issues while we were there. The secondary lock on one of the two doors was broken, so we had to use a table to block the door for safety. The switch for The lights in the bedroom was broken and the only way to turn them on is to screw the bulb in, which I got electrocuted when I did. One of the remotes for the tv only half worked. However The absolute worst part though was what we discovered when we went to set up the couch bed for the kids to sleep on. We discovered there was used towels with bodily fluids on them folded up in the mattress and also hair on the sheets. This was brought to the attention of the front desk and they said they are short on housekeepers and they must have rushed without cleaning that. They did hand us new sheets to put on the bed and a staff member came and took dirty sheets and towels away. They also stated they would note the issues with the room and fix them when we check out.The overnight sleep went well and the room was nice and cold, but the beds are very close together so watch your step getting in and out of bed. When we checked out I again mentioned the issues and expressed a concern that the price i paid was not worth all the isses i had to go through and feel I should receive a discount. The desk associate said a manager would call me to discuss things, but here it is 4 days later and no call. When I called to speak to the manager Im told they are not available.Overall the place is ok, but nothing special.
The pictures were looking good and thats what kept my eye so I booked online but When we went in the room there was no remote for tv and it smells bad we found dirty socks, empty bottles under bed preety sureIf someone gave me a day for free I WOULD NEVER GO. Pay little more for better motel. If I have to give them a rating it would be 0 but there is no option so I have to give them 1 . Motels name is different than online booking.
I was very impressed with this hotel. It was affordably priced and we got so many perks like free breakfast and wifi- which is necessary on a long road trip. Though small, the room was nicely decorated and I could tell the hotel staff had made improvements to make it a little more modern. The theme of the hotel is southern so it would be cool to see some hardwood floors in the rooms instead of the old carpet. Enjoyed our brief stay and will consider this hotel when visiting Savannah, GA in the future.
The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean, but since its a holiday thats acknowledged by a country thats not apart of the USA. Their price gauging is ridiculous. Plus their rooms have no microwave, mini fridge, and the showers are small. Even though it was last minute booking. Ive stayed in lower rate rooms at the last minute with BETTER amenities than this motel. Even the television is small. For the price I paid today or just during a regular month without any festive events I WOULDNT RECOMMEND THIS MOTEL. Find something better. Also since you may respond to this review. I stayed in room 211. The couples I traveled with their rooms were the same also. Plus, where is the little table that majority of motels/hotels have with 2 chairs? Like I said, it was last minute and this place was price gauging due to St. Patricks Day festivities. Dont RECOMMEND, dont STAY, and Please find somewhere BETTER than Dogwood Suites and Inn.
So glad we chose to stop here. The name peaked our interest and the sweet porch with rockers out front sealed the deal.LOVED the bed. The sheets were so soft and warm. Perfect! They also offered a decent selection for breakfast. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is that the windows are thin so you could hear outside. Luck of the draw if your neighbors are cooperative.
I rate this hotel a 0.. I made a reservation need a reservation for a double bed when I ed when I got to the hotel they said they didnt have anymore Which was fine I accepted it. When I got to the room the bed was all messed up there were no towels and there were also roaches crawling under the TV on the dresser. Me and my daughter did not stay the night there we only took a shower left and it has been over a month and I have still not received my $50 deposit I would not recommend this hotel to anybody
Really love this hotel. At check in: The convenience store has fun and unexpected and somehwat unconventionaltreats. Liquid bubbles for kids, snacks, drinks, and other amenities that can make a stay feel more like home.Room was VERY clean, bed was comfortable, shower stuff smelled great and left my hair easy to manage.Breakfast is like eating in your friends kitchen. Some frozen goods that you can heat up, fresh made waffles, toaster, fresh fruit (plums when I went). The whole room and feel was comfortable and the hotel is family friendly.
Stopped here over night on way home. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was above average for a Continental breakfast, rooms are small but clean with new furniture, bed was very comfortable. We will stop again when traveling.
Staff was very friendly. The room was disappointing and I will not stay there again. The first thing I noticed was the toilet seat had yellow stains, even on the lid. The bottom sheets would not stay on the beds, we had two double beds and our friends had a queen and the sheets came off all the mattresses. Some water spilled on the floor and I wiped it up with a towel and the floor was filthy. The corner shower was so small my husband would not have been able to use it. The blow dryer didnt work, my friends room didnt even have one. The place was just very run down.
If there was an option for no stars i would have used it. We stayed at the hotel for a funeral and paid for our stay however, the hotel booked us for a 13 day stay the following month and the branch manager claimed to have heard about it two days later and my wifes card was charged. After my wife called about a refund and got no where i called and the manager explained that she had taken days off which isnt my problem the manager should always be available in situations like this. She also explained that they had to do research about the reservation instead of refunding my wifes money immediately. As for the stay the cleaning staff were friendly however the customer service needs improvement. As a service member i can understand things happen but as a leader we dont make excuses when it comes to our job not being done properly.
The place is full of roaches. I checked in and then checked right back out after seeing the room condition. OYO refuses to refund the money for the stay which lasted less than an hour. Additionally, the credit card hold that was supposed to be released upon checkout was ran as a charge and guess what? They wont refund that either. DO NOT BOOK HERE.
We were told this was a former Motel 6 motel, but recently under new ownership. Not fancy, mind you, retaining the exterior iconic look before lodging sold out to big box motels, but nicely updated accommodations, pool, & laundry. Nice welcoming touch with big comfy rockers on the porch. We stayed in a very CLEAN pet friendly room with nice, new laminate floors. Room was on the small side, but the mattress, bedding & pillows were super! We booked directly & the price was so good, we thought we heard wrong. PLUS the very nice desk clerk gave us a card for 15% off our next stay...as we travel from Cape Cod to Key West frequently we have no reason to spend the big bux at the big boxmotels anymore. Had a great dinner across the street at the LOCAL Restaurant. Last thought...whe arrived mid afternoon & no cars , save one, were in parking lot. Looked like they had closed down, I might recommend chairs outside each room to give it the OPEN look. Overall a very nice stay!
The room are simple and comfortable. The wifi did not work while we were there hence had to use phone hot spot. There was almost no sound barriers between the rooms nor between the rooms and outside. Clearly heard outside conversation of people two doors down and kept hearing children crying in the next room. Doors closing were very loud and kept waking us up. In general, it would have been an acceptable stay except for the lack of sound proofing. Wouldnt stay here again!
I wish I could give zero stars. Reserved a room online. Oyo website said guests must be 18 or older with a photo ID. I am 18. I got there and right away the employees were rude. It took forever to get service and in the middle of talking to me the employee would walk around and talk to people. She asks me for a 50$ deposit, probably so they can find a way to scam me, and asks for ID and card. She says, “you’re not 21. I can’t serve you.” I explained how it said on the site you have to be 18 and how I’ve done it before and she wouldn’t even listen. Terrible service with everyone she interacted with. Another Employee smoked cigarettes outside while there was a line of customers inside. She told me it was illegal in Georgia to get a hotel room as an 18 year old and that’s simply untrue. Grimy place, truly terrible. Would rather sleep in my car in the parking lot. Ratio + L
Nice and friendly place, would I stay again, yes but a bit away from Savannah more or less 25 minutes. My only complain if that,is that the shower are very small. Breakfast simply but fine, coffee was good, all around . 4 stars.
All the bed sheets were stained.. looked like period stains all over! The floors are very filthy. We had to play with the door in order for it to fully lock... towels were stained. Very disappointed definitely will not return.
This is just a place to sleep. No coffee pot in the room. No bathtub to bathe my infant...the rooms are very small. For the price of $80 i expected a little better. I will say that the rooms do not smell like smoke which is wondeful and the towels are new.
Stop charging people $50 room deposits and refusing to pay guests by giving bogus phone numbers to call about the refund. Had I not been in the local area and physically went back to the hotel to request the refund, I would have lost $50 because they do not answer their phone. If youre from another state, youre screwed. And when you call the customer service rep (barely speaks good English) they tell you to get in contact with the property but the phone number, again, is bogus. So basically your $50 is gone. Beware of this scam if you are out of town. The Wi-Fi code didnt even work and the room smelled really bad.
Absolutely aweful!!!! Dirty an the little lady in the front with glasses on was rude an very ignorant really!!! Roachs !!! sidewalks was filthy !!! The rude lady in the front had a problem with a tenant an the rude lady was screaming an yelling an her whole family came at this lady crazy!!! It was wild!!!!The only good thing about that place was the younger pregnant girl she was amazing so nice an apologetic. I feel for her!
Roach motel, warning you get what you pay for.Rented a room for 1 night(think God)was only in the room long enough to shower and sleep, found a beer can in our room,so the room obviously wasnt cleaned right.spoke to front desk and the young man was very nice,he called the manager. The manager Trevone Austin, which was so disrespectful, and uneducated to the fact that the hotel was having some renovations going on and there was a electric outlet cover missing with exposed electrical wires inside our room.Upon telling trayvon Austin of this violation his reply was oh thats a simple fixed I can have somebody just put a cover on it. Its one thing to have renovations going on but another thing to have safety and health violations inside the room that could be fatal, if someone gets hurt or killed because of this its a lawsuit waiting to happen and the manager travon Austin wasnt concerned a bit. I asked not for my money back but just a discount or pre-rated for the room and he asked me to leave. I will be contacting the state and health inspector first thing Monday morning.
I paid to reserve a room here with anticipation through Expedia, and they overbooked the hotel. I couldnt even get my money back. They told me to call some number, wich they answered the fifth time I tried, and they hang up on my after saying we dont have rooms available. This is the last time I use Expedia also, and there were at least 4 more people on the same situation as I was, having paid for the room already, and unable to get the money back. Id give 0 stars, but 1 is the actual minimum. Dont ever book a room here. Be aware.
Instead of Capital O it should be Capital NO! The first room they gave me smelled like mold and mildew and the TV didnt work. There are no phones in the room nor trash cans. The showers are literally the size of an airplane bathroom!!! Be prepared to pay a $50 cash deposit (not mentioned until you get to the hotel) Plus, THEY HAVE ROACHES!
With mostly good reviews I decided to give this hotel a try and reserved two double rooms. When I tried to check in they said there was only one room reserved. I showed them the confirmation email which clearly said two double rooms and was told that was wrong, there was only one room reserved. They were unable to accommodate us so we left and went to another hotel. The next day I checked my credit card and found they had charged me as a no show for two rooms!!!! 5 days and unable to get a refund from them, so I had to dispute the charges with my credit card company. Do yourself a favor and dont use this hotel.
Love Love love the suite! The kitchen is so pretty in the suites and the coffee and basket of goodies was a nice touch. The staff was so welcoming and friendly. I’m going to tell all my girlfriends to stay here instead of Savannah. It’s so much cheaper and really cool!
So I had my first grandson and looked and all the hotels in the Richmond Hill area where my daughter lives. Found this cute charming place to stay..... The pictures they share of this place on line and what it actually is are completely different. It is filthy. The staff are MEH at best, especially the daytime staff. I got to my room and it STUNK like cigarette smoke bad. I asked to be moved to another room the next day. I moved and there was no internet in the room. I called the front desk to see if anyone else was having this issue and she said no but you can use the wifi in your old room to get your work done. So I just moved back into the old room. No offers of moving me to a room that was a designated no smoking. So I bought an air freshener to make it bearable.I was also stung by a wasp while taking a walk, after I got stung I spotted a wasp nest. So I called the front office and reported it. Well it was still there the next day and the next day. So I called again. 4th day they knocked it down. OK, what if I had an allergic reaction to getting stung? It has everything to do about the guests safety which should have been a priority. The only thing that made my stay bearable are the other guests I met there.I didnt go to another hotel because this was already paid in full by my husband. Next time I am there and there will be a next time I will be staying at a much better place. This place is a joke.
BED BUGS!!!! I stayed at this hotel 05/25/18 and had the worse experience ever. Cosmetically everything looked OK and I thought that my night there would be pleasant. I was accompanied by three other family members who thought the same. Because there were four of use in total, I decided to sleep on the pull out mattress in the living room area. During the night I woke up several times itching violently all over my arms, legs and face. When i woke up in the morning i notice bite marks all over me including my face. I began to look over the mattress and discovered Bed Bugs all along the lining. I went to the front desk to report the incident. I took a video of the bugs and took picture of the bites I received ( I have all of this documented). The maintenance man came into the room and confirmed that there were in fact bugs in the mattress. The hotel did reimburse us the money for the nights we booked, however has not offered any compensation for my clothes that were lost due to poor sanitation practices on the part of the hotel. I had to go to the emergency room due to the bites to get treatment. No one from the hotel has contacted me in regards to medical bills. When I spoke to the manager on duty her exact words were If this were anyone of the other Indian owned hotel chains we would not have gotten our money back. She was also very reluctant to give me any information on how to contact the general manager. She almost made it seem as though it were an inconvenience to the hotel because now they have to sanitize the room, which should be a standard practice of any hotel. And i find it concerning that there is absolutely no procedure in place to address incidents of this nature. I have yet to speak with the general manager. Guest should not leave a hotel worse than they were than when they arrived. I hope that this review serves as a warning to anyone considering a stay at this hotel and hopefully gets the attention of someone that I can talk to, to address my incident so that I wont have to pursue legal action.I am positive it was your hotel. Now youre trying to insult me by lying. You now very well that I was the victim of poor sanitation due to the negligence of your hotel. I just got off the phone with Brittany and she has stated that the GM herself has chosen not to speak with me because My name wasnt on the reservation Regardless, I the one with bites all over me. Im the One who is going to have to satisfy these medical bills. And your staff member Brittany stated that if I had been someone passing through and been injured due to negligence of the hotel then I would be able to speak with a general manager with out a reservation, which does not make any sense. So to simplify things, Its too bad i suffered due to the care of your hotel. And Im supposed to right your wrong.Listen At this point All i want is to be ensured that any medical expenses be taking care of by your hotel and potentially discuss compensation for the clothes that were lost. I dont want to discuss this publicly but this issue is beginning to grow and my voice will be heard. All im asking for is a conversion with someone that can help make this right. Like I said I stayed with others at this hotel. Thats at least four more negative reviews pending. Word is circulation in the upstate new York region because I am sharing my story with travelers from my job. This is not defamation either, because the only defense for defamation is the truth. I have pictures of my bites, video of the bugs, copies of my medical bills, and witnesses, I have a case.. All i want is to talk at this point
Will never stay here again. The room was extremely small. The bedding had what appeared to be feces stains all over them, as well as cigarette burns. There was a very mildew like smell that overpowered as soon as the door was opened. Noise from neighbors was overwhelming. I paid $200 for one night and am VERY disappointed.
I asked OYO to book us at Royal Inn. I payed for the room in advance. I didnt realize until we got to Royal Inn that we had been booked at Capital O instead. We didnt arrive until after 10pm. So we went ahead with the room of our nightmares. Moldy, Filthy, Disgusting. Plus I was scammed a $50 deposit (along with dozens of other customers) because we had to leave at 5am and the office doesnt open until 9am.
Cold showers and pubic hair all over the bathroom. Some amenities were broken. I had booked the room for two days but checked out and was told I would get refunded when the manager arrived at 3 PM. I called the manager she said she couldnt refund me unless the general manager approved it and she wouldnt be in until Monday. I will be contacting whomever I can to make sure this hotel knows they cant give customers the run around. Very disappointing.
Great service, location is a little further from the beach than expected in rush hour. Plan accordingly! Close enough to River street and downtown though. One ice maker was out of order, our room needed some weather stripping around the door - visible light and noise came through, but the noise was mostly birds in the morning which was a happy accident. I would stay here again for future Savannah trips, but might avoid if the beach is the goal simply due to distance.
Ive stayed in some pretty cheap motels Ive the years, but this one wins nastiest. Mold, mildew and smelly. Shower so gross not usable, which Its probably by they only left one little small towel in the whole room. Air filter to AC was BLACK with nastiness. Outside filthy also.
Clean room that accommodated our family of 6 with a kitchenette for a very low price! Complimentary breakfast and friendly courteous staff. We would stay again. It doesnt look like a 4 star, but it has all of the ammenities.
I booked last minute on the phone as I was driving up. They insisted to collect my payment for an easy check-in. They said I had to get there by Midnight. I was 15 mins away and pulled in at 11:20. They were already closed, no one in the office. I called to get a refund, but they of course would not.I will say, that I am glad the office was closed. One room had the door open with 4 fans running... not sure what that was about. There were also loiterers at a corner unit with cars pulling up and leaving. Coming from Miami, I knew what I was seeing.
It is still has outside DOGWOOD INN so no one else will get in a yelling fight with there other half.Nice place clean. Down fall they have not change there name because that it put me my husband in a yelling fight. All it had in our room was a bed dresser TV and show yes only a shower no bath tub.The reason they are get a two star that yelling fight was bad because they have no where saying that they are Capital O Hotel. Even the rooms still has the old name.
My fuzzy Buddy, Rufus and I stayed at the newly remodeled Dogwood Inn traveling home from vacationing. We felt welcomed and cared for by all at the Inn. From the front desk to the waffle queen helping with breakfast it was a most enjoyable stay. Breakfast was nice and the fact that Rufus was welcome made it delightful. Enjoy the rocking chairs on the peaceful front porch.
Dont, just... Never, ever go here. 2 bedroom connected room and only 1 television could work at once because it was on a shared box. One room had only 1 outlet. Oh, and my kids LOVED random people screaming all night down the hallway. I stayed here a year ago and it was great for the $, now just, no.
Stopped here on way to Disney, perfect place if you want clean, convenient, quiet place to stay. Beds were very comfortable along with pillows! Breakfast was ample all you want( cereal, heat your own sausage links, make your own waffles in waffle maker, pop tarts, toast, coffee etc) Would def stay again on our way down here!! 5 stars for the money, $50!
Avoid this hotel. After traveling 8 hours to arrive ready to rest, we found out the hotel Capital O (overbooked us and had no rooms available. The reservation place couldnt get a hold of the hotel because they were not answering the phone. I had to locate the manager and give her my cell phone to cancel my reservation which they already charged. The front office was locked and relatives of the manager were playing in the office. Im glad we didnt get the room now after looking further into other reviews. Went down to Red Roof inn and paid a little more, but was happy with the room which was basic but clean. Red Roof front staff was helpful and I just felt confident there.
Broke down on 95 right at this exit, so we stayed here out of necessity with 3 kids. We were able to get a suite, pullout couch and two full beds. Reception was nice. Price was good for what we got. Breakfast was a nice bonus. Also room was clean.
Hotel was disgusting, roaches, burn holes in the blankets and beds. the staff was just as horrible, refusing to give our deposit back for no reason, refused to help us with ANYTHING else. i do not recommend this place to my worst enemy.
I had a guaranteed booking for two rooms. They said they were full and blamed Expedia and Hotels.com for overbooking them. They said I had to call hotels.com to get money back.Hotels.com said it was non-refundable. Between this dump and Hotels.com they stole $160 from me.Dont go there. Its a scam to triple book and keep your money.
A great centrally located place off of 95! it was quiet, and they accommodated all my requests and had amazing prices! Everyone was very nice, and we even stayed an additional night! quick drive to Savannah, and other smaller towns! thank you! we will be staying again!
Checked out after 20 mins , never again this hotel is janky and rankyRooms are HORRIBLEMarijuana roaches on the floorGum stuck to carpet , old chewed up gum in the showerRemote didn’t workLoud and noisemakersRefund was refunded !!!!!Rooms are the size of a closetSoap is the size of a peppermintDirty showerMoldy ceilingHoles in bed comforter from smoking
We stopped here after a night of driving, we checked in close to 4 AM, check out is at 11. The room was small but clean, and there were plenty of other cars in the lot. The desk clerk was friendly. It served its purpose, it was economical, wed stay here again.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Having just moved to GA and finding myself in desperate need of somewhere to stay for an extended period of time, I was lucky enough to find Dogwood.I love everything about it. The staff make you feel like youre at home and the rooms, pool and everything else are kept extremely well.It would be wrong if I didnt list the staff -Laurel, Anna, Melissa, Jennifer, Shirley, Susan, Deborah, Mr. James, Angel and the woman who makes it all happen- Ms Brittany the general manager. You are all awesome!I will definitely recommend you to everyone and will return in the future.
My room was very clean. Manager was very helpful and kind. I read a lot of bad reviews before I stayed here while I was in town for work and there are definitely worse places to stay that cost more money in Richmond Hill. Will stay here again
I booked this hotel through Priceline.Stupid hotel asking cash deposit at 11pm to check itI told them I have only business credit card to pay deposit , CashApp, Venmo, PayPalI do not carry cash on meThey told me to get cash from ATMI told them this is a CREDIT cardI can not get cashEventually I could not get to stay there and called Priceline and Priceline tried to reach themGuess what, their stupid phone line does not workI went cross the street and paid by CASHAPP to another hotelDidn’t need to pay any depositIt was way better then their stupid hotelIn the morning called Priceline againThe lady at the hotel, still did not cancel my reservation and I could not get my money
I would highly recommend Dogwood Inn and Suites and the pricing is very reasonable. Our employees were greeted by Megan with a nice smile and Melinda was very helpful and friendly as well. Our employees stated the Double Queen Suite was very clean and enjoyed the barn door feature. I will definitely use this hotel in the future for our employees,
No pack and play or anywhere for young toddler to sleep. Small rooms, we had to get a suite to accommodate us. Need a fridge with a baby no regular rooms have that. One remote for two tvs in the suite. Our room had food still left in the fridge from previous people. Meaning it obviously wasnt cleaned. Cracked table no where to sit, no where to put luggage. Unfriendly staff. No garbage can. Breakfast was a muffin, pot tart or small sandwich. When tried to say about our issues all she did was say ok ok ok for everything. Wouldnt recommend to anyone..
Booked through Snaptravel. Got to the hotel and was told no sign of my booking, and that Snaptravel was a scam. After a bit of a panic, finding a phone number for Snaptravel, I got in contact with them. They couldnt get hold of the hotel. Snaptravel gave me a refund. Makes me think the hotel was the scammer. Didnt stay.
Very clean property and friendly staff. The double room was small but clean and well appointed. Very good value for an overnight stay while traveling. The bed could have been more comfortable, but I chalk that up to personal taste.
The staff here is really nice. The location is great just off I-95. It takes about 15 minutes from here to Downtown Savannah so its an easy Drive. Theres a nice small pool and free breakfast. The beds were very comfortable.
BED BUGS!!!! Me and three friends booked this place because it was cheap and we were on a road trip. We arrived and everything was normal, but before we feel asleep we found bed bugs in our mattresses and on our pillows and crawling up the walls. We told the front desk lady and she did not seem surprised or apologetic when we asked for the refund and left. I DO NOT recommend staying here.
Dog friendly, wonderful sweet staff! I was traveling by myself and they gave me a room close by the front where walking my dogs made me feel very secure. Nice continental breakfast too. Close off the interstate with many restaurants and gas stations too.
Horrible. Nasty. The worst. Pool was closed due to failing inspections. Laundry closed. Room was a construction zone. When we asked to have the room cleaned the front desk gave us a shovel and a broom. Absolutely ridiculous.
Bathroom smelled like cat piss. Could not even go into it. Luckily we had adjoining rooms and could use the other bathroom. Beds were acceptable. Dont know how many of their bathrooms smell but only the one for us did. I wouldnt chance it again.
Not the worst place, price was fair, room was small but clean. Front office isnt the best to deal with. Close early and have some funky, questionable rules. Theres definitely better choices but this one will suite most. They do have a pool!
Bed was old and uncomfortable. Shower was very small. TV had multiple remotes to control. Had illegals sitting outside of our window stealing the wifi and being loud. Just an awful experience here. Worth spending a few more bucks to get a decent place.
This place was absolutely horrible. I reserved it online and when we got to the hotel room it smelled so bad it made my nose burn, it had what looked like to be mold, only a shower, and spiders. I told them I did not want to stay and I was told everything would be cancelled and I would not be charged. When we woke up the next day they charged my card and when we tried to get them to deal with the situation the employee Anna was not trained to do anything and did not want to help us with the situation. She said to wait until Monday and call back even though we were from another state and would be on flights and could not call me back. The general manager Melinda Beatty was rude and upset that I asked her employee to call a manager on her day off because they have no one scheduled to help with the fact that Anna does not have access to refund the charges. They were both extremely rude and I did not get my refund handled still because the general manager hung up the phone in my face and said i was bothering her staff. I will be working on contacting corporate as they should hire staff that has good customer service and wants to do their job.
Worst 3 star hotel. No towels in bathroom except one small face towel with a hole in it. Said they were out. Pool was not open. Building and room needed maintenance. Security deposit was not returned. Never use Expedia again.
Horrible experience, don’t go there !! The Worst hostel of the USPre-Reservation at 70$ on booking but if you want the room you need to add 50$ when you come so finally it’s 120$ for that. In more they recquire a deposit of 50$ In CASHIt was dirty AND the team members have the hospitality of an oyster 🦪
So far our experience has been above par for cheap hotels. Clean rooms and the rate Im getting for a full suite is considerably less expensive than any standard hotel room Ive stayed at and I just drove here from Alaska. Very friendly helpful staff. Dont waste your time or money elsewhere. Best for your money cross country by far.
The staff was friendly. A guy doing remodel work was eating some nasty smelling t.v. dinner while he was doing his work in the lobby. Then the front desk was out of key card holders so she just folded paper around the keys. I saw a roach run across the floor in the lobby restroom. The room was clean-ish (didnt clean well behind the shower door). The standing shower was a little small for my liking. The room itself is tiny with the beds up against the wall. The room has been remodeled but I think they got Joe Schmoe from down the street to do it all because its pretty shotty workmanship.Heres the plus -- the place is cheap. If you dont pay much, dont expect much and this joint will be right up your alley.
Great feeling, the room feels amazing, pillows feel like heaven, the shower is awesome, the softness firm feeling if the bed, friendly people, makes you feel at home, gives peace , and you will never want to get out of bed. Ive been coming to this hotel for two years now.
I stayed for two nights (the 4th and 5th of August) and can say that I will definitely be back! The room was clean, the A/C worked very well, the pool was clean, the breakfast was great, and the staff was super friendly! Also, the bathroom was very clean, and the shower was a nice size. Its about 30 minutes away from Savannah, and a little under an hour away from Tybee Island, so the drive isnt too bad, especially for the price. The town its in, Richmond Hill, also has a lot of stores, so theres something to do during the day if you arent in Savannah. Pleasantly surprised, but would definitely come back! Thanks for helping make my vacation that much better.
Unfortunately there is no option to give 0 stars to this hotel.I made a reservation and made an instant payment thru Booking.com.First of all it was very dificult to find the hotel because the only indication of the hotel name was written on the pice of paper glued to the the closed entrance door. When i arrived the door was closed and another piece of paper on the door stated that there were no vacancies and one more dirty piece of paper had a phone number to call.I called and the rep on the phone notified me that they did not have any available rooms. He was very rude and sugested to request refund from whoever i made a reservation from.He told me that there were 30 people like me that day. I contacted Booking. com and they told me that it would take from them 5 (!!!) days to contact the hotel and confirm all this. Ridiculous
Don’t be deceived by the pictures and reviews this place was absolutely disgusting, the sheets where stained with what looked to be blood and the floors were filthy it smelled horrible as well. You literally have to play with the door to get it opened to top it off the place is really sketchy didn’t even feel safe walking up to my room. There was also numerous times the cops where coming to the property definitely would not recommend it here
The breakfast was a joke. No juice and all they had was frozen pancakes and waffles. And I was told we would have 2 queen beds. ... These r full size beds . Wont ever stay here again .
Drove five and a half hours. Front desk was closed. I begged the lady at the desk to check for our reservations after I caught her outside smoking, she refused and told us she was booked and to just call and cancel the reservation. She was rude and annoying. We were left stranded and had to hunt a place. They still tried to charge us a cancelation fee. It was a nightmare. Do not book with them
Ripped me off!!!! Wasnt giving the room I paid for wasnt allowed to modify room or giving a refund .... Never occupied room and they kept my deposit this place is a joke the lady at front desk is a social path that should be getting a disability check instead of representing a hotel chain.... still havent got my security deposit back for room I never stayed in...Very disappointed!!!
We booked this property based off of the reviews. Expected an older property, but not quite this. It wasn’t the worst thing in the world, but def sketchy. The bed was clean & comfy though so we stayed.
Thank you so much for the hospitality. The Dogwood Inn and Suites is a clean comfortable affordable hotel close enough to Savannah to see all the sights and far enough away to get some rest and relax by their beautiful pool. The staff are curious and go above and beyond for every guest.
Everything was clean. Showers and bed. No bugs, no mold, comfy. Just the way I like it. Breakfast was good with various of choices. The guy that checked me in was friendly and helpful. Price is good and affordable. Definitely recommend.
Great southern hospitality! Our kids love staying at the Dogwood. Check it out if you are ever near Richmond Hill or Savannah, GA. Youll love the front porch and breakfast options. They even have family-suites that are 2 rooms with a sliding barn door between the two - great for large families. God bless yall!
Great place for cheap. The place is not the Hilton, you have to know that before staying. Front desk guy was fantastic! Money saved can be spent across the street at the Local on 17, a really good steakhouse.
I never got the chance to stay at this hotel because we had to cancel our travel plans due to the flu, but Melinda Beatty was courteous and helpful throughout the cancellation process. We will definitely stay at Dogwood the next time we travel this way. :)
Great price, the clean large suite was very nice. Location is great for visiting Savannah. Friendly staff and decent breakfast. Pool looked clean too. Pet friendly was a plus.
Newly remodeled former motel 6. Rooms are clean and spacious especially for the money. Staff is extremely friendly and hospitable. Its been an absolute pleasure to stay here.
We stayed here for the weekend because a friend I was doing work for paid for my family to get away and relax so we did. We enjoyed our self and the staff was awsome and the rooms were really nice. Perfect get away much needed.
Clean, rooms on the small side but a great value. Quiet location. Nice pool. Melissa was very nice. Wish there was a mini fridge, but Im not complaining.
Staff was friendly and efficient. Room was clean, although somewhat spartan. Most importantly, the price was right for my purpose, which was an inexpensive safe place to stay on the way to Florida.
Roaches here. No smoking except by the propane grills and at designated area.....not even outside your room door. Lady was nasty about that and its the only time I been there.... didnt know. No refrigerator in room I was in.
Lousy place the air conditioning was with a big water leak. it was next to the plug! very dangerous, my husband had to disconnect it so as not to die that same night. DO NOT STAY HERE !! i drove 6 hours and i was so tired i got to this place and all i wanted was to rest
Wow! The room was unexpectedly womderful. The woman at the front desk went over and beyond to help with our reservation. She told us about the military couple who are renovating it. Love it so far. Keep up the good work!
Had to cancel last minute when trying to evacuate from a hurricane, and they did not charge us for a night even though they could have. So very much appreciated during a crazy time! Will be stopping by in the future when we need a place to stay.
Need work to the rooms. The pool was not ready to go swimming in when we was there. The room my husband and I was in did not have hot water for a shower. But very nice people that works there.
