Cheap but definitely not the place to go! Feels more like a drug house rather than a nightclub. Go to murphys law instead, no cover and dj was great and service was wonderful.
This place is a hole, the dance floor sticky from dried spilled booze. Theres often someone running the bathroom with fancy lotions and soaps in search of tips, so you cant even drain the taco in peace. Advantage, cover is cheap. Sadly, its one of the better places in Rochester for dancing, and even thats hit or miss.
This place is terrible. “Shots” are $11… the atmosphere is terrible, most people are standing at the bar, the music is terribly outdated, the staff is rude and pretty much silent…. Just go to swan dive…
To be quite honest I been to better clubs. I would never go there on a Saturday because I think when they Mop the floor the use the same Mop water from the night before and the floors get super sticky. Music is good. However the young college crowd can be inconsiderate at times. And then the young 21 year Olds hang at the bar and dont let ppl in to get drinks, very rude. Some of the security take their jobs way to seriously and others dont at all. I only go to support the dj.
Wife and I had a great night of dancing. Good drinks. Beautiful 😍 bartenders. Good security. Will be returning
The DJs and security are top notch at the venue, and odds are you will likely have a great time listening to some good tunes one can dance. The bar tenders do not offer a wine selection so odds are you will likely have to stick to cheap alcohol or overpay for some high end liquor and or tequila. The biggest drawback to this place is the fact that bar tenders do not provide water. The owners attempt to extract as much consumer surplus buy installing vending machines strictly for water and other hydration fluids. Not providing your patrons water is a bit low ball tactic that I really do not understand, just to scrap as much as possible from the consumers. Lastly, there is always a $5 cover to get in.
The bouncers are very rude and they try to pick a fight with you when you lose valuable stuff like humanity where are u?? Don’t go there unless u wanna be disrespected and yelled at for no reason and lose your stuff and have no cooperation when finding it and almost getting kicked out for doing nothing. Thank u.
If i could do less stars i would. horrible staff attitudes, accepting fake ID’s left and right but act like their life depends on stopping underage drinking at the same time. kicked my underage friend out for holding our of age friend’s drink so she could take a video, & acted aggressive immediately. coat holding area was absolutely ridiculous as well. unorganized, argumentative, and extremely unprofessional. my other friend never received her ticket, they’re not supposed to hold up coats and show them without a ticket but showed us 3 different coats anyways before a small man came up and yelled at us for trying to get our coat and was nothing but argumentative and defensive the entire time even though it was the staff’s mistake NOT ours. bathroom situation was a disaster too. will never go again.
The DJs played lame music with clashing beats in between songs. Lights turned on and everyone was kicked out 20 minutes before close. The outside porch area is nice, you can smoke out there without issues now. Lots of security persons.
They wouldn’t let me in because I was wearing “basketball shorts” but I was wearing thin sweat shorts because I read that it is hot and there is no air circulation. On top of that the security in the front on 8/19/21 at 10pm was disrespectful and told us to “go change then you can go in.” I didn’t know there was a fashion police for a club that locks there fire exits.
This place is seriously gross. The floors are sticky, the bathrooms are dirty, and the ceiling leaks. I wouldnt want to know what this place looks like when the lights are turned on.To make matters worse, they nickel and dime you all night. Vinyl has a cover, a paid coat check, and bathroom attendants who demand tips.Im a good tipper. I always have been. So I decided to save my tip for the end of the night. But as soon as I leave the bathroom, the attendant hands me a paper towel (what a load off my mind!) and points to the tip jar asking for a little love.Really? Here, have a dollar.
Floors were sticky, place smelled like vomit. Very affordable though. Security kicked me out for having a sip of my friends drink cuz I was 2 days away from being 21. Real tough guy right there
They refuse to serve their patrons water. It is not illegal, but it is unethical.
I had so much fun, thank you. It was an honor to entertain the Memorial Day Weekend Crowd with your DJ(👍🏼).Thank you to all the staff for being good sports!madLOVEguyGROSSI otokoDOi
I had a blast the first time I went there with my friends, so I wanted to go back to introduce my friend to the environment since shes never been there. This time around it was a little different. The first bartender (she was blonde but I dont know her name) didnt make my drink correctly and I had to ask her to add the other part to it (a tequila sunrise shouldnt look completely pink and taste carbonated). There were four bartenders total and none of them seemed to want to serve anyone. The blonde one was on her phone the whole time, and one of the guy bartenders was vaping everywhere on everything. Really weird second experience.
Went out there with few co-workers and we had good time. Place is older and outdated but music was good. Owner was nice and offered us few free rounds. Place could use more crowd.
This place is ratchet & dirty. Security is TRASH! I was assaulted for no reason and security was friends with the girl who did it. Security restrained my hands from behind as I was half way out the door security started punching my head from behind, it was just her behind me no one else. I was kicked out and not the girl who started. It’s a UNSAFE ENVIRONMENT at vynl and they will do nothing to resolve these situations. Get new STAFF & have them actually do their job. 0 star if I could. You will never get another dollar from me.
I definitely recommend going to Vinyl if you want to enjoy some epic 90s and early 2000s music in a club that allows for safe space dancing. Vinyl is the perfect place to go with a group of ladies with a big age range (21 years to 58 years)... every one is able to dance to music they enjoy. Vinyl is a great place to go for bottle service as well. They offer bottle service packages that are reasonable in cost. Additionally, the staff and service of Vinyl was excellent. They were very attentive to our needs and willing to go above and beyond with any request we asked. Anyone that is in the process of organizing a bachelorette party/ladies night that is looking for a safe place to dance then make sure to add Vinyl to your list!
Upon arival made the snap judgment of what are we doing here. After things got going noticed Ive never seen so many people, mostly young people, form many different sides of the track having fun. Black, white, gay, and bi.
OK venue in a fun areaPros:Cheap Drinks, Varied music, $2 Coat Check, SecurityCons:Non-existent bathroom with an attendant who asks for tips (just go downstairs), DJ didnt play much new music (plus abusive artists like Chris Brown and 6ix9ine)
This club is disgusting. Its way too hot inside with no air conditioner or airflow whatsoever. The security guards and staff are incredibly rude. I recommend going elsewhere.
Vinyl is pretty awful. The floors are sticky, the drinks are weak, the bathroom attendants are pushy, and the DJs regularly quit songs halfway through.
Horrible club, would never go there and buy a drink again because they will just charge your card multiple times and block your card. Smells like piss and have disgusting floor. Bunch of men who have no self control and will touch women without their consent. Your place is trash.
Vinyl is the most racist place i ever been to i couldnt get in with with sweats but a white boy got to get in with a pair of sweat.
Solid place to go hang out with friends, yeah it’s not the cleanest place but it’s a club hahahaha, cheap entry and always a good time when i go
Didn’t let us in for having “sweatpants” on. Never advertised a fashion policy or made it known. Never heard of a rule like that before.
Bartenders cant make a drink, dj cant read a room but the atmosphere is dope
Last night, I went with my friends to this club for the first time, and it was lit, they had awesome music, and nice security
Usually crowded, service is ok. Occasionally there is live music. Good place to hit up with groups of friends.
Very nice security if you treat them with respect spent most my time talking to him
Kicked my boy out for blowing chunks. Safe to say their not pushing P.
Horrible place drinks are over priced and the security there needs to be put on a leash and some fire codes need more attention paid too there they lock fire exits!!!!!!!!
Horrible place. Rude bathroom attendant, terrible DJ, no atmosphere. Save your money.
Good place to go for a fun night out dancing. It can get very crowded though
I was sexuality assaulted by a homeless man in the parking lot. 5/5 stars
If you black I recommend you not to come.
Power trip douche bag security think they are secret service or something.
You can come in a full on suit, but if you are African-American you are going to need luck to get in this club.
Dance club with good music. Bathrooms are HORRIBLE. Lots of security.
Cheap drinks, average music. Can be fun if you come with a group.
40 dollar cover and it was a dud
Allow under age drinking!!! 😡😡
I love the music they play. Always a good place for late dancing.
We are professional dont beg people its a service thats provided were professional
Lost my wallet there 🤦🏼♀️ Trying to reach out to someone who works there
Need to play more dancehall and reggae music
Had a good time but the atmosphere was drab
Only real dance club in Rochester
Wouldnt let me friend in who was brown.
Sticky floors
Full of guys, almost no girls to dance with
Great place for dancing
Favorite club in Rochester!
Only good experiences
Awful
Trash
This place is trash
I’d love to tell you what this club is like. Unfortunately I’m neurodivergent and since I jumped when startled by a revving motorcycle engine, I was deemed under the influence, and since I am under 21, denied entry. I was given no chance to plead my case, and then had a lovely little panic attack since I was left stuck separated from my friends in an area I don’t know well. While I got home safe and sound, the fact that there is no test in place to actually see if someone is drunk is ridiculous. Especially because there were under age girls in front of me that were very drunk.
