I was looking for a much needed massage while visiting family and now I wish Hunter and his practice were in LA! I highly recommend; it was obvious Hunter is very knowledgeable of the human body through his massage and body work techniques.

Hunter is an exceptional therapist and a true professional. I have a heavy duty manual labor job and sciatica, so it was really great to not just feel heard about my problem areas, but also have them worked on with skill and intention. He was very consistent in pressure and I noticed he was also intuitive to the amount of pressure and stretching I could handle. This is probably the first massage where I didnt have to ask for anything different. He was also kind enough to discuss the modalities he used so I know how to communicate what I enjoyed for the next round. I found his prices very reasonable for the value and I see myself coming back as soon as I can.

I went to Mend and Grow for a long overdue massage after years of carrying two kids and working physically at my job. The space is quiet, clean, peaceful, and professional. The ambiance really helps you understand it’s a place for healing and restoration when you walk in. Hunter is knowledgeable and experienced in the art of massage and is primed to begin your treatment whether you came in for deep tissue relaxation, or sports massage. You will literally feel like you are in great hands when you step into Mend and Grow. I recommend them to anyone seeking a holistic massage therapist, fitness trainer, or wellness coach.

Hunter is an INCREDIBLY gifted massage therapist and body worker. From the very first massage I had with him I felt a connection to my body with blood flow and fluidity in my joints I haven’t felt in years. His energy is so peaceful and calming and I have only ever felt 100% safe in his care.As a chronic pain warrior, my body requires special attention and stretching but when he works on me, he makes it seem effortless. He is also a climber and therefore has the strongest hand strength ever!Huge Hunter fan, here. Do yourself a favor and book…seriously.

Ive been dealing with cervical spine issues, nerve pain, and TMJ for 4 years and Hunter is the first massage therapist Ive been to that was able to provide significant relief, even on the first visit. His use of Active Release Technique is a game changer. Im excited for my next visit and hopeful for additional pain relief in the future.

Hunter is extremely knowledgeable and well-trained manual therapist. While he understands the body very well, he is also exceptional at understanding what you specifically need to address your issues. I had some low back pain before going in and its completely gone now. He used Active Release Technique and other myofascial release approaches. Highly recommend Hunter!

I just wanted to share my experience here on Google to let everyone know what an amazing and talented massage therapist and fitness instructor Hunter is! I have been going to Hunter for 5+ years now and I live in Napa (an hour away from his practice in Sacramento) and I think that is a testament to how excellent and thorough his bodywork and fitness instruction is. He uses a unique combination of Swedish and Thai (amongst other modalities too) and has the exact right amount of pressure and advanced technique that leaves me feeling thoroughly relaxed and refreshed every time. I tell all my friends about him whenever I get the chance. I also wanted to share my experience with him as a yoga instructor. I wanted to learn the basics and then further that with more advanced training and he was really fantastic in teaching me, showing me and perfecting my poses so that I would feel comfortable taking yoga classes at other gyms. I would be using him even more for fitness training (yoga, xfit etc etc) if I only lived closer. But I can say with perfect confidence that anyone would enjoy and benefit from his expertise! Hes really awesome.

I have seen Hunter twice now and it is literally the best massage of my life!!!! His hands are firm and strong, no pinching. He comes to the house for a very reasonable price. He is very intuitive when reading my body and does a great job listening to how I am feeling as well. Bonus: my wife loves him as much as I do and we have very different massage needs. :) I look forward to a long professional relationship!!!

I’ve been receiving care from Hunter w/ Mend and Grow for a myriad of issues for some time now, and I couldn’t be happier with my experience. Hunter is professional, personable, and humble in sharing information about everything from nutrition to exercise physiology. From the moment I entered Hunter’s care, it’s been clear to me that he prioritizes forming a care routine that is specifically tailored to my needs. As anyone who’s ever spent much time seeking professional care can attest, that’s a rare trait to have in a field that so often applies “one size fits all” remedies. Hunter has become my first contact for any and all bodywork needs, and I can’t say I’ve ever felt better taken care of. I would recommend Hunter to anybody who’s looking for sports massage, ART (active release technique: if you have not received this kind of treatment before I highly recommend it), or advice on self-care/exercise/wellness best practice.

About a year ago, after Kaiser completely failed me, I reached out to Hunter to help me recover from a knee injury. I was immediately struck by his patience and knowledge, and his ability to help me think holistically about my healing. His personal expertise and Active Release Technique have been a life saver, and I am continually in awe of the healing my knee has done with his support.Funny thing is, I went in for help with my knee but now I just go in with the list of new ailments and aches that nag at me. Hes helped me with carpal tunnel, a numb finger, foot pain, and an aching piriformis. Hes helped them all and Ive walked away with tools and tips to help myself at home as well. Hunter is the real deal and super nice. Id highly recommend him.

Hunter is the real deal. His technique is so awesome because he incorporates massage with a medium stretch and doesnt push your body to much. He also gives awesome advice on at home stretches to help with your situation and needs. 10/10 recommend

Wow! I couldn’t have asked for a better massage therapist. Hunter is not only professional, but his office is also very clean. I went in for a Swedish massage and left his office feeling fantastic. I had a lot of knots in my back that he was able to get out, and that night I probably had one of the best sleep ever. I would highly recommend Hunter if you are looking for a massage therapist in Sacramento.

I hate to leave a bad review, but it is a public health issue. I booked the appointment and showed up around 15 minutes early. Right off the bat, the receptionist for the law office in the shared space wasnt wearing a mask. I chalked it up to her eating breakfast and sat in the waiting area. Then, another person in the shared office space was making copies… without a mask. I kept waiting until around 5 minutes before my appointment, but I left after the receptionist began coughing. Hunter texted instructions for the appointment saying hed meet me in the parking lot, but I let him know I didnt feel comfortable/safe being in such an enclosed space around so many unmasked strangers. Seemed somewhat dismissive, especially considering I didn’t request a refund AND included a tip in my prepayment, but it is what it is. (No cancellation policies are listed on their website or scheduling portal. Something to keep in mind.)If it were a better protected massage space, Idve waited it out. However, the door to Hunters office was open and no windows were open, nor were any air purifiers running anywhere in the space. I feel bad, but just be aware that there doesnt seem to be any obviousCOVID precautions in place as of August 2021.
