What a charming bar with a friendly atmosphere! I love the cycling memorabilia and I feel very safe with the pride flags hanging around the space. Our bartender was very cordial and was able to accommodate changes in our drinks without scorn. Food was decent! Love the garlic cheese bread and the T-Ravs were not gamey either. I enjoyed my Moscow Mule.Theres even a rooftop patio that has a gorgeous view of Tower Grove. Perfect for a midsummer night. Delicious.
I had a great time The pizza was amazing big giant square pizza completely amazing. The bartenders were rocking they were so cool they were so nice The patio is fantastic The whole vibe is really cool it was the first time Ive been there and I will definitely return it was such a chilling place everyone was so friendly I just cant believe the atmosphere was so cool The restrooms were clean I mean this place really has it together.
I absolutely love this place. The patio is incredible, but Im also a fan of the dance floor. The happy hour rates on Monday cant be beat. Its not the best food in the world, but its great bar food. The bartenders are always friendly and helpful. Lots of great non-alcoholic options as well. If you ride your bike you can bring it in to hang inside and youll get a discount on your drink.
We went for trivia. It is SO LOUD. Why the need to play music during trivia so loudly? Cant even hear partner talking in my ear.No one was welcoming or friendly.Tap and can selection is good, but a well drink will get you a 1/2-2/3 pour. And a $1 extra for sour vs water. The food looked awesome, but we didnt try, so my rating is JUST Thursday for Trivia, and drinks.(using Tom Collins glass with a HALF pour to claim its a drink when its a NEW person looking for a new weekly spot... Guess you dont want oitlr business.)Im obviously in the minority, and my Gen X is showing.AgainTOO LOUD
Been coming here for a little over a year and its a fun hangout for weekend nights. The musics pretty good depending on whos playing/ mixing. My friends and I love to hang out on the patio during warmer weather. 4 stars because some of our group tends to get sick whenever we visit, but that could be the super close quarters. Never tried the good because I always go after the kitchen is closed.
Owners girlfriend I presume is an annoying person to deal with. I dont recommend businesses where people in positions of power are known to be unfriendly and this is one of those establishments. Also the bike theme is entirely stupid as hell, I guess you made the bar after your personality since thats all you can offer.
I was in town for a conference and stopped a few night. It was really cute! We can on a karaoke night??? It was so delightful! I didnt even know it was karaoke night. Narada sang Erykah Badu which was honestly so beautiful 😍
We were in STL for 3 nights and 2 of them were spent at Handlerbar. We came for the karaoke and stayed for the vibes. Narada was incredible. 10/10 performer, bartender, and conversationalist. Would absolutely come again next time I’m in STL.
This place is always good vibes. They have events throughout the year, we were surprised by the Line Dancing lessons on Sunday! Bartenders are the best, drinks are tasty. Patio is cute.
Great local vibe, 2nd visit. Enjoyed the DJ on the patio last time. Good salty and savory bar chow. Fun cocktails.
Really fun karaoke night on Wednesdays. Paperless sign up and supportive crowd for new singers. KJ was gently helpful and fair. Some great singers there too.
Myself and my friend were threatened by a security guard that he was going to drag us out while we were waiting for our other friend to close their tab. I didnt feel safe at all.Very overpriced drinks as well.
2x to this spot now, 1st time we wont talk about... 2nd time was fun. I didnt even know they had so many floors. The tonic is either hooked up to the wrong drink gun or its going out. Tasted awful and I asked to have it remade, which bravo to them they did without batting an eye. The music was nice dance floor too small. No one played pool either time I was there move it to the second floor and open up that area for more dance floor space. But all in all pretty diverse crowd and REALLY nice door bouncers. Check it out its not as wak as the outside looks.
Went with a couple of friends... the nachos were amazing... the chicken was ok.. the drinks were delicious 😋... our waiter didnt speak English, so it took a a bit of time to explain and be able to order
Very interesting with a certain European atmosphere especially since I met 2 different parties of Europeans my first time there. The crowd was wonderfully diverse!
My friends and I went here for NYE and it was a blast! The outside patio is awesome. They had a photo booth set up which was lots of fun too. We had an amazing time and I would highly recommend this bar. 10/10 experience.
Great service and great vibes! The meat lovers pizza and ripsticks are absolutely amazing!!!
So fun and a great place If you like a not-so-young crowd, that still dances to good musicsigned:A board millennial lone and out of town-er
Great food and lovely stuff and service. Naked bike ride was awesome thanks yall for your support 🥰
Stopped here as part of a bar crawl and after seeing the vibe I ended up ditching the crawl and staying because I liked it so much. This is the perfect place for introverts like me to meet people. I dont have to be a part of a group to enjoy myself because everyone is so friendly and ready to include others in conversation. The drinks definitely depend on whos working the bar, I got three of the same drink from three different bartenders and they all tasted different which isnt a bad thing but dont judge the whole place for one bad drink because chances are youll love the second one. There are so many different floors to move between depending on what energy youre looking for, my only peeve is that the pool table is very out of place and kinda gets in the way.
Small bar inside very clicky place. The outdoor area is nice. Drinks are priced 👍🏻 good
The people there are just lovely, very LGBT friendly, the trivia nights are blasts, special shout out to the servers who are sweethearts and love to listen to you drink preferences
I walked up to the alternative woman behind the bar with micro bangs to order two regular shots and some chasers (literally the canned drinks they have in the fridge). Thought she was cool, until she opened her mouth and seemed like she couldn’t be arsed to even pretend to be congenial. There was only 4-5 people at the bar at this point, so idk what her deal was. when I clarified what chasers we wanted because she asked she rolled her eyes at me and waved dismissively. If you are going to charge 25 dollars + tips for two vodka shots, a hard seltzer & cider the least you could do is not act like your patrons are the inconvenience, especially not at a time where it wasnt even busy. We threw back our shots/ drinks and dipped as quickly as we got in. Better vibes, nicer people somewhere else ://
Had a cranberry mule and it was very nice. Grabbed a bit of food and it was surprisingly good. The floor was sooooo sticky, which I didnt love, but its a bar so I get it. Overall, it was a good experience.
Great music that spans the decades so all ages feel welcome to dance and vibe along. Good drinks, didnt try the food but the menu looked good. Very spacious.
I came in because I was meeting friends to watch the Blues game. Only one television, but the atmosphere, food, drinks, and great service really made that a non-issue for me. There is a moderate (and yummy) variety of beers on tap. I ordered the beet fries and my friend ordered the spinach and artichoke dip. Ive made beet fries before and they tasted like dirt. These were flavorful and addictive. I was a bad friend and only shared a few. The flat bread accompanying the spinach and artichoke dip was delicious on its own and amazing with the dip. They also had NOLA swing dancing lessons there that night. I started to be annoyed because BLUES but that faded quickly when I saw the dancing. So much joy out on the floor and really fun to watch. I will definitely have to visit again soon!
Went last weekend. We were visiting from out of town and gave this place a try. We sat on the patio which was awesome. It was very early evening and we were the only ones there for about an hour. We tried their ravioli which was delicious. They had a DJ that played a guitar, another playing bass and a woman playing the violin, also 2 dancers. The name of the group was Tristano. They were fantastic!!!!! The music they put together was unbelievable. I don’t know if it was tekno, electronic or what but I do know it was amazing. The crowd was very diverse. You must give this place a try
Came in on a Saturday night and got to meet the amazing owner Tatyana Telnikova. I enjoyed some drinks on draft, bartenders choice on the patio and the spinach and cheese handle pie. I can now say Ive tried all of thr handle pies and they each are uniquely delicious. The bar is inclusive and every single person who works there, welcoming and friendly. I love this place!
I love the patio here, and usually theres quite a few people, which is sometimes difficult to find in St. Louis. Its a nice atmosphere for the most part, but the DJs are very hit or miss. Ive gone there when they did an amazing job and Ive been there when the music was so bad I left. I definitely still stop in on nights out fairly often. The cocktails are really awful though, and some of the worst liquor Ive had. Youre probably safer sticking to beer.
Experienced bar party extroverts only.Very loud. And mildly horney. Not for introverts. Please dont take ur introvert friends here!
Very safe and friendly atmosphere. The owner is an incredible person: singer, guitar player, dancer, ... And much more! :)P.S. Bar and bartenders are great - they know their cocktails recipes well.
Decent priced drinks, fun karaoke with Jen, amazing staff, and fun patrons. Highly recommended!
First time customers,Potential to be better, sadly on the beginning of summer 22 their patio is under construction ? Pride Week we had a few cocktails & couldnt help but but notice the musky smell, was there a flood at some previous time? Barmaid was super nice & friendly! Will check out this unique place again in the future... tbc
Fun place to gather with friends! Fun bike-themed decor. They also have music & DJs!
Wonderful atmosphere, everyone is so very nice and respectful. If you are not sure on what to decide on, the staff is very good with helping choose the beverage that is to the flavors you like. Cant wait to go back again
The best thing is that the place is open later than most places in STL. Good drinks and has a nice patio area open till 1 am. Kitchen closed much earlier than its supposed to. Bad DJ kinda killed the mood.
We had so much fun at their Taylor Swift BINGO
The place and service was great, but the DJ was a miss for me. My group wanted to dance to songs we recognized and the DJ didnt play anything familiar.
It is such a chill spot for me, with live music and a DJ playing in the background with good music!
I believe the place may be best for people who dont look like me. I visited on what was their first night reopening. Im sure tension, fear, anxieties were high. I just told another person about the place who sends to fit their anesthetic. However, that night was truly disheartening. Im tired of being single out and unable to enjoy simple liberties other humans seem to get. It seemed like it couldve been a really awesome new spot for me to vibe in but after that night I wont return. I still say go give it a shot. I only went once. Due to the fact the interaction was with the owner and I saw/heard much more about what happened while I was at the bar getting a beverage, which made a lot of our party leave the celebration, I can only suggest it to people who dont look like me or to a group of us. This is why my rating is low. Dude at the front door that night though, seemed cool.
I have tried to like this establishment. However, it simply feels so out of place in the Grove neighborhood of Saint Louis. The bar is a bicycle themed bar and that aspect is actually very cool. They have amazing beet fries that are to die for. However, the establishment has a feel of an out-of-place wanna be grunge bar that attracts patrons that would fit that exact description. The servers are generally friendly and I have never received poor service.Weekends can get busy and because of apparent under-staffing there are long waits to get drinks. Some nights offer singing and other activities such as dancing, but this still does not make the establishment worth visiting other than for the beet fries.I often times find myself going to the back patio because of the loud nature and too dim of lighting. Dim lighting in bars is great, but the lighting in HandleBar is at the level where you almost can not see. There are pool tables which are usually available, unfortunately, it is difficult to play because of all the other patrons around you.The church pews as seating is my absolute favorite part of the bar and is very much appreciated.Overall: go for the beet fries then move across the street for fun bars.
I dont drink, but this bar always has vibes and a really good crowd of people! I love doing karaoke here and just coming out to dance and hang out!
Pizza is very affordable for the AMAZING quality. Nice staff, fun karaoke nights. Great place for enjoying the outdoor space.
Handlebar was a beautiful experience it was 80s karaoke night when I went and the vibe was amazing everyone was having a great time! If you are ever in the area and just looking for a chill vibe to enjoy with your friends I highly recommend Handlebar!
I had the most amazing afternoon here. I brought a book and wanted to sit and read somewhere and have a few beers before a concert I was going to. The bartender was awesome. She made great conversation and was helpful and fun when selecting new beers to try. Very friendly atmosphere, I ended up making friends there and have the best time. Also, their hummus board was delicious and very reasonably priced given how large it was. I look forward to returning.
I love this place.. This is a great bar! The staff was very cool to me and knowledgeable about the beers they were serving me. I liked the atmosphere in there and the food was amazing. Like any bar, if you go in at a peak hour on a weekend, things will be busy, but I think the last lukewarm review was way off. I met the owner while I was there. Shes a really cool girl with a passion for the bar and whats going on in the neighborhood. I really recommend this place. The crowd, the atmosphere, the food.. all fantastic. This is my place to bring friends to now..
My favorite bar in the grove! The staff here is excellent. The patio is fantastic and it is a safe space. Karaoke on Wednesday nights is always a fun time!
Most welcoming vibe in STL. My favorite hangout spot.
The brunch was delicious but a little pricey. The drag show was 2 people who really did a great job. Would have liked more variety though but all in all, it was fun. Very nice patio but with slow service.
Fun, friendly atmosphere with nice bartenders and a good beer selection. They make their own small line of flavor spirits for those with adventurous taste buds. They recently cleaned up the back patio and its now a beautiful spot to hang out. Restrooms and seating are always clean. They also host excellent live music multiple times a week.
This place sure knows how to celebrate for New Years! The atmosphere is very cool; there are awesome murals, bon fires, and other fun things to discover. The staff is super friendly. They had a photographer, DJ, and some cool visual effects the night we were there.
LOVE this place! Ive been going for over 10 years and its always AMAZING! Great food, great drinks, great music. Theres dancing, drag bingo with Becca Diamond on Wednesday nights and then you have one of the best bartenders in the Lou, Roxxy keeping you feeling good all night! Do yourself a favor and make this place a regular hang out.
Not my favorite in the grove but a good spot. Only one bar so can be a long wait for a drink. Gives hipster millennial queer energy which is okay, just not always my vibe. Overall a nice and safe space.
One of the best places for a night put in winter because of the fireplace that they have at the back. The dance floor is decent with mostly laser lights on friday nights and you will find a great mix of tracks from the 80s, 90a, 2000s until now!The bouncer at the door is one of the friendliest peoplw we know so shout out to him!
Went there to see a burlesque show that we thought started at 9, had actually ended at 9. Thats our fault for not double checking the time. Though we all agreed 8 is a little early in our opinions for that type of show. Thats okay! We stayed to get drinks and pizza. The bartender got our drink orders and didnt ask for any sort of payment. Gave me my drink right away and moved onto other things. Still didnt ask for payment - weird! Leaving my friends undone. We waited awhile and asked again for hers, they were out of something to make it. She ordered something else and we sat down with our group. Theyd already ordered the pizza before us. Her drink didnt taste like it had any alcohol in it but wed already been apart from the group and didnt want to wait again. Then we waited for the pizza almost an hour before asking about it. Theyd seem to have forgotten about it. Got it a few minutes after asking. The veggie pizza was really tasty! But wed missed the early show and wanted to see another one down the road. Waiting so long, with a watered down mixed drink and too busy a bar to reorder our empty ones. It was so/so.The gear decor was cool and I liked the exposed brick walls. The bathroom was surprisingly clean though one stall was out of order.Ill give it another shot when the time comes.
Have you ever wanted to be at the best bar? And love life? Does the thought of not having fun fill you with dread? Well look no further idiot!
Always a good place to chill, Sunday through Thursday. They have a great beer and cocktail selection and a kitchen open later than most. If you are looking for the standard party atmosphere come on down Friday and Saturday. They usually have live music then.
So if youre in the mood for some old school (and Im talking pre prohibition old school) swing, this should be your place every other Monday. What a delightful surprise. I have no idea where these kids learned how to dance like this, but Im super glad to see that swing is alive and well. 5 stars. Highly recommend. Absolutely entertaining to watch. Oh, and gender neutral bathrooms!!
The bartender hip to waist ratio was out of control. Real talk, I had a really nice first date here. LGBT vibes and a good bar for everyone
We popped in on a whim after seeing the bicycle theme and ended up staying for dinner and dancing. By far the best bar good Ive ever had. I appreciate the vegetarian options, the Hawaiian pizza with jack fruit was a delightful surprise. I LOVED the beet fries!! A must try! Handlebar offers a great selection of local beers. The patio is a nice space to relax and I enjoyed the hook/ring game.
Everytime I go here its an absolute BLAST! They always have great DJs. The staff is AWESOME! Great vibe and energy. The patio is a nice place to hangout. Would recommend to anyone, over and over again.
This place is great. There are tons of drink options. The food is great, and I really dig the patio. This place is fun.
Came in for an event and the bartender (white male) added his own tips to my drinks. I got 2 drinks, the first was like $7 and the second was like $10. I tipped $3 between the two drinks m, $2 first one and $1 second one, because I waited a longggg time for the second drink and it was slow. Reviewed my debit card statement and $5 was added on. Needless to say, I won’t be back.
Great music if you are trying to dance the night away. Can get crowded but that just means that its a thriving business and definitely know what they are doing! Good place to visit if youre in the Grove!
Awesome place karaoke on Wednesdays
Super fun bar in The Grove. They have half-price pizzas during their happy hour (4-6pm) and also do events like trivia, karaoke etc
HandleBar has great staff and great bar bite, especially their gluten-free pizza crust. Thursday are lots of fun with trivia hosted at 7pm. Parking isnt too bad on Manchester or nearby.
Delicious sausage and pretzels brats and soft pretzels with beer cheese dip and 2 kinds of mustard. Only missing BBQ sauce. Back patio had plenty of socially distant tables and a nice breeze.
Three weeks ago I had reserved space for our group of twelve, which turned out to be eight, for a birthday dinner. When I arrived half an hour early, there was one barmaid and a crowd around the bar; it was difficult just to get her attention. I mentioned my reservation and she said to sit anywhere; I was wondering how wed ever get served with only a single barmaid. When the rest of the group arrived, we ordered drinks, but soon realized we were never going to get any service, so we left and went across the street, where we got immediate service and had a nice dinner. The barmaid was nice enough, but they knew in advance and had made no attempt to accommodate us. Even if they had told us, nicely, that they were understaffed and couldnt accommodate us, I would have understood, but they ignored us. This place is good for young people who want to drink beer and hang around the bar, but I dont see much potential as a restaurant, even though the menu looked interesting. Other reviews stated that weekends are busy, but this was a cool, rainy Tuesday night! Too bad, they had eight customers waiting and they lost us, but they didnt seem to care. We wont be back.
Trivia here was so much fun with a great MC! Free trivia with cheap PBR? What more do you want?! Amazing food with some authentic Russian selections that were delicious. A fun atmosphere late at night with dancing and music. This place is a gem.
First time here. Drinks were great, bartenders are friendly, MUSIC WAS AMAZING and the pizza was surprisingly one of the best bar pizzas Ive had
We went for drinks on a Thursday and ended up playing trivia - fantastic prices on drinks, food was also well-priced and GREAT, staff was friendly, very nice vibe
Great bar! Beer/cider selection is great and is displayed on several big screens around the bar for easy viewing. Food selection is good and pizzas are made to order. Several nights a week have live bands and/or DJs along with swing dancing.
Cool bar with dance floor.
Absolutely when a St Louiss top late night party dance spots all the people in The handlebar are absolute amazingly love and good energy awesome patio totally crazy good wait stuff and security handlebar is always handle up on the competition
Nice atmosphere. We were here for a celebration of life for one of their employees and they certainly made it a night to remember. The staff was friendly, the crowd was lovely, the entertainment was on point.
I would advise not going on weekend nights. It was already a bad sign that they had a guy trying to pull people in from the streets, a bouncer and a police officer in front, and charge you five dollars for such small space. The small space for dj and dancing seem to have caused some fights. A lot of rude and careless people there with attitude. I would have rather go to the actual Attitude place cross the street. At least they had room and people were not so chaotic. If you are not use to this kind of behavior and dont like drama dont go here. Seemed to had good reveiws , but slowly going down. Wanna stay away from people trying to pick a fight? Dont go here. I hope they get better , they need to for at least safety reasons.
So much to love about Handlebar. Its greatest asset? The staff. When we lived in St. Louis, we were Thursday regulars. Jordyn was the first to make us feel at home, and over time, each and every person behind the bar (and the trivia table) became someone we looked forward to seeing. Its fair to say that without Jordyn and the rest of the staff, theres no way wed have kept coming back as often as we did.THINGS YOU SHOULD DOTake people to trivia on Thursdays. Show up early (615ish), get a good seatOrder the best gluten-free pizza crust in StLAsk for whatever the bar feels like makingTHINGS YOU SHOULD NOT DONot go here
The black bartender with the mustache and vest is the best!
Great place for a quiet drink in the early evening. Gets really packed at night. Nice staff. Good beer list, but once you have been there a few times, youre unlikely to see anything you havent had before.
Hippest bar in town. The menu boasts an eclectic mash of russian roots and New American small fare. Quite possibly one of the most underrated foodie spots in the city. Fantastic rotating craft beer selection and a host of super rad events almost every day of the week.
Amazing patio! Staff is always awesome, and they host fun, different events.
I was visiting my friend in St. Louis and she said Hey theres this bar thats bike themed and gay, want to check it out? So we did and it was exactly that. Amazing murals and bike decor, good beer selection, and the best vending machine that Ive ever seen. I would visit St. Louis again just to visit Handlebar.
The staff was great! It was packed and we still got everything right away, they were totally on top of everything. The bill was way below what I expected & the atmosphere was really unique. Our food was great & we had an awesome night!
Ive yet to eat at Handle Bar, but they have a great beer selection on tap and the DJs on the weekend are always great! The patio is also fun all year round. They now have the bimini ring and hook game out back.
They have an awesome selection of local craft beer. My bartender was Erin. She was very informative, and delightful to be around.
We’ve been coming to HandleBar every Thursday for Geeks Who Drink and Sean’s gentle abuse for a few years. It’s hard to find a great trivia, and other games in town are inferior. I’ve heard a rumor that Geeks Who Drink is being replaced with another company, and I hope it isn’t true, as we don’t want to look for a new Thursday night bar. I’d happily pay more for tallboys if it means keeping Geeks Who Drink.
Great all around atmosphere, perfect food, matchless staff, and comfortable patio with fire pit (which Ive heard many fun, funny and fantastic conversations) The HandleBar is a centerpiece of the Grove and I look forward to many more years of meeting new people, making more friends and creating more friends here. Thanks you HandleBar for the memories you have created.
Mustve went on a bad night. Poor security. Very poor management. Not even in there for 5 minutes and someone fought my friend randomly. Management and people up from told us to leave even though the person was bleeding very badly and needed medical attention. I DO NOT RECOMMEND! Definitely is NOT SAFE on large events on weekends. Didnt even get refunded either.
Love their thin crust pizza. Wooden floor is comfortable for dancing. The bicycle decor is charming. Place is gay and straight friendly.
Fun bar, great DJ, fun place to dance, never eaten here tho
Went here for a 21st birthday we were the only ones there because it was like 7 oclock bu the bartender was so cool I think his name was Dave and he had a cool long beard and he was really friendly the also had super clean restrooms
Great staff and always go for the mystery beer. Their pizza is really good and more than likely you will take some of it home!
Very friendly staff. Its not rundown but is gets lively and has a great selection of drinks. The foods great and its one of the best bars in the St Louis area.
The only bad thing about this place is that all the pizzas are so good, its really hard to choose between them. But they have some great drinks handy to keep you busy while you decide.Damn, now I want one of their pizzas....
Cool little chill spot. Interesting area. Good drinks made by the bartender. I was her guinea pig lol but I enjoyed it
My first and only visit was Halloween and I had a ton of fun! The bar is so perfectly themed too! Its not what I expected but exactly how it should be.
Love how the bar back refuses to see that the bar is obviously soaked but refuses to wipe it off …The bar was soaked with water and drink residue. I asked the girl behind the bar if she could wipe the bar off and she stated “we do at the end of the night.” So, I used whatever napkins I could find to wipe the area around me down so I wasn’t getting soaked.
Love love love! The mushroom handlepies were amazing, the vecnas curse drink was great and the vibe was fantastic! Ill be back 💕
Guaranteed to have a weirdly good time here. It attracts just about every type of person. Just make sure to check to see if there are special events so you dont accidentally end up at a Satanist fundraiser.
The greatest humans on the planet work here and have such great hearts. They make every experience the best! Liz is the best Lemon ever!!
Every time a friend suggests to the group lets go to handlebar, I want to punch them in the face. The people that work there are polite and sorta quick on getting you a drink. Im only 23, but I feel 53 in this bar. If you like overpriced drinks/still-in-progress-of-gentrification neighborhoods, and underage girls wearing Native American headbands, this is for you.
While I haven’t tried the food yet, and the staff is friendly, the cocktails are HEAV-Y on lime or lemon juice, making for a great night of heartburn, if you’re into that. Please consider classic cocktails where less is more.
Outdoor area for bonfires and conversations where you can hear the person next to you? Check.Great selection of drinks and quality bartenders? Check.Wide variety of music? Check.Bros everywhere? Nope.
Dont appreciate a place that stereotypes, if an establishment is going to require proof of vaccination for entry, that rule needs to apply to everyone, not subjected to only a certain group of people. appears to be racially motivated, rules need to apply to all not when convenient.
This place has a decent beer selection, cool atmosphere and Great pizza!
Go on trivia night. Sit at the bar. Help the two brothers with answers they haven’t been alive long enough to know. Sip Negronis.
Good place to go for the weekend. Not that expensive but a bit crowded. Music is good and vibe is friendly. Recommend!
This place looks very Appealing to me! I would love to visit and have a meal...but it would most likely break my heart. With The quality bikes hanging around going to waste I could put to use. Atleast in my life. Just an opinion!! I have been struggling for some time now with transportation. I sold my expensive bike to repair a family members car...and well promises promises...away it all went!
Super cool hang. Fun trivia night on Thursday night. Looking forward to sitting out on the patio again after it is rebuilt.
Best cyclest bar in town the wood makes the bar warm and cozy. Always something going on. Like the July 4th bike ride !!!!Not your basic menu ,... but thats what makes this place unique. @smokinbeer makes a delicious jacked fruit buffalo dip. Must come try!!!This is a must check out place in the Grove...Saint Louis.
One of my favorite bars in St. Louis. Really takes covid safety seriously. Friendly staff, tasty drinks and the tunes are always on point.
Awesome music, a great selection of beer, fun staff, and they have vegan gluten free pizza rolls ups! What else could you want?
Its a great bar. I love dancing there. Simple as that.
Simply going down hill! I cannot believe all of the things going on the last time I was there. It used to take 2 minutes to get a beer, not it takes 20, even with all of the 18 year olds there. I guess that is what happens when a bar becomes successful... How can they make money with that many underage people there anyways?
Hate to do this but... Just go home. There were 4 people at the bat when I showed up at 9:15 w my wife and 3 year old son for some food. Was told yes we have food but its 21 and over after 9. As if my 3 year old is trying to sneak in for a beer. I made the point and asked if the owner was in. No was the answers. There are words I wish to deploy but choose to be civil and ding through social media. 2 star out of mercy.
Great vibes, good beer selection, okay food. A great place for trivia or just a general hang sesh
Fun DJ, went on a Wednesday and they were swing dancing!! Really cool bar. The pizza was even better than I had expected.
This place... Ive had some of the most epic moments of my life. Whether partying with the most awesome friends, hanging out with some of the most awesome bartenders, or dancing like... no one is looking(yeah, said that), Handlebar is THE spot!
Music was good. People inside was polite and real friendly. They were welcoming.
Fantastic bar with friendly staff and catering to a bicycling crowd. Also, very importantly, a hidden gem in the city for Russian food. Highly recommend.
Good bar, guy outside selling meats was the coolest. Gave me his jacket while I vomited, had a convo about his life. 5 stars is for meat guy.
The food is surprisingly excellent. They serve Russian food as well as pizza. The hummus and pita is amazing, as are all the Russian dishes I have tried.
HandleBar has been a staple of mine for a trip to the Grove since 2010. They always have cheap beer and a good crowd out on the weekends. The only problem I ever encounter was when we rode our bikes to HandleBar and the door person tried to charge us a cover. HandleBar has a ride your bike get free cover policy. The manager on duty that night tried to charge us cover but I said forget that noise and we went to the Atomic Cowboy instead. I called back later in the week and talked to the owner and confirmed that they had a bike to HandleBar=free cover policy and that I just had to show my helmet. Ill keep coming back to HandleBar because it is an awesome bar that supports bicycling in the city, now if only they had a bikers benefits sticker in the window.
The most fun bar in The Grove. Good beer selection. Dance music on the weekends (90s night 2x a month).
One of the coolest bars Ive been to in the Grove and even the greater St Louis area. Usually a good crowd of fun people, good staff, great time!
Awesome place on a Friday night. Great crowd, nice dance floor, great patio, and good DJ. This is a fun area and it really comes alive at night.
I came for the trivia and had a great time.Good atmosphere and customer service. They some small food items and a food beer selection.
Omg absolutely love this place! Once a month they do 80s night and that is so much fun! You have to experience it at least once!
Place is empty way too much to be considered a college times hangout bar only about 2 of the twelve or more times Ive came in here was it actually lively and I think that one of the days was on Halloween
Wide selection of beers and drinks. Nice place for a happy hour on a weekday. Busy and fun on the weekends. Also, they have free WiFi.
I am not sure if they serve food, but the service and atmosphere was great. i will return!!!
Great little spot. Inexpensive drinks and decent food served late. Dancing, djs are hit or miss. Love 90s night.
The actual establishment is perfectly fine but the crowd and general vibe here feels like twitter if it were a bar.
Great pizza. Drink was solid. Dance floor was cool but not my thing. It was a nice outing with my girlfriend.
Been there few times and its a great place. Plenty of roadside parking spaces available outside and they also have a patio. Food is also good!
Good beer selection, dance floor was not the most dance-able songs for a Saturday night out, but still lovely fun atmosphere
Its a pretty cool place. Friday and Saturday nights are packed so I prefer Sunday nights since I dont work Mondays.
This is a very cool bicycle-themed bar. They have swing dancing on Tuesdays, which was the draw for me. Would recommend!
Swing dancing night on Tuesdays. Good selection of beers and drinks. Good food. Nice atmosphere. Good crowd.
This place is cool. a bit of a younger crowd than i can stomach anymore, but thats likely their intent. fun neighborhood too
This place would be better if they would stop letting 18 year old kids in on dance nights. I am in my mid 20s and dont expect to be going out with a bunch of kids at a bar.
So on google it says that this place is only open on thursday but its not. Its open everyday and its a stellar affordable bar. If youre on the grove you should totally stop here.
Good vibes, and drinks but MOST importantly great music 💯
Great atmosphere! Always inclusive and everyone is friendly and just wants to have a good time.
This just aint my kind of bar.But if you want a small DJ venue and food earlier in the night, this is the spot.
Definitely a great space in The Grove for some good priced drinks and partying!
Great atmosphere, great drinks and best St. Louis style pizza in the Lou!
I enjoy this bar. Fun place for a drink especially when its crowded. Good place to go with a group.
Great experience with lots of fun events. Carrie and Mike were fantastic bartenders and made really good cocktails!
Always a great time when I come here. Great drinks and even in a crowd I still get great service and good drinks.
This bar is great. Friendly staff. Decent specials and food. And a great patio out back
Decent bar with a mix of hip hop, r&b and pop songs. Cocktails could be better.
The bartenders are always amazing. I enjoy going in during their busy times and their slow times. It can be both lively and intimate.
Great place for drinks and dancing at night. Well kept patio that is spacious and fun art.
A trendy hip place; perfect for late night relaxation or dancing.
Handlebar is my favorite place in the grove. Staff is super friendly, music is always good, vibes are always great!
Racially profiled an asian woman and man. asked them if they were vaccinated but not the white woman next to them or the two unvaccinated white people who came in before them
Nice place but 15$ + for two shots of Tito’s vodka and red bull
Snazzy place, with kicking beats all night long!
Very chill bar with dedicated bartenders that serve up wonderful drinks and shots.
Cool neighborhood spot. Lots of beer on tap. Friendly, hip bartenders
Good for cocktails and their eclectic music choices. It is a must go when they have their patio fireplaces going.
Great patio, great diverse crowd. This is my favorite bar to start my night dancing at.
Fun bike friendly place. Lots of craft beers , good food and swing dancing every Tuesday night.
Super chill, food is good, bartenders are nice. Great vibe
Steven was very nice helping me feel comfortable. Good vibe, music but no Heineken!
Good place to go on a night out but requires a vaccine card. Excludes a lot of people for no reason.
Solid bar, solid prices, nice patio in back. Good place to have a drink or two with friends.
Friendly staff, great deals on Mondays
So much fun! The atmosphere, employees, and DJ were amazing!! Definitely going back!
Great bar with a chill vibe. Reallynice area out back. Kind bar staff.
One of the most fun bars in the Grove! Pretty great food, too!
People in St. Louis think this is as innovate as it gets. I see it as just another bar completely marketed to local hipsters.
Great place to listen to loud popular music and dance all night
