Hi. I have a lot to say about this bar. So I am going to go ahead and say it. First time—fun night, before my wedding in 2016. I was staying at the Hampton downtown w family and getting married there and we met the whole lot there. I came here tonight to revisit that from a different perspective, but wow, couldn’t get in. Bouncer said I was intoxicated. I filed another complaint too with BBB. It seems to be a racial issue. I posted some photos of my experience with the new DTSP. From Florida local perspective—What a difference in downtown St Pete from 2016 to 2024. Here’s the trashy bouncer that told us he wasn’t letting girls in.

Went in super early and I think there was maybe two other people in here. Had a drink just to check the place out and it was good. Cool ambiance. Bartender was very friendly. Small place but cool.

I find it very interesting that there is a review from 1 week ago with another patron having had the exact same issue I did!Please fire the young black guy that was working the door on Saturday night, 8/10 (we were there at about 9ish). He mumbled something at me and when I didnt understand him he accused me of being drunk and prohibited me from entering. He was super hostile. I suspect hes either racist or really hates women. He clearly enjoys starting confrontations which is a really dangerous personality trait in a nightclub bouncer. Seriously, please figure out who this was and fire him. The man I had a problem with was the same as the one in the photo posted by “Ashton Wilkins.”It was reassuring to see that someone else had the same issue on the same night!

Only went in for drinks no food. Atmosphere was great good vide. Stop in have a drink and bar staff was super nice and fast.

Both bartenders were DISGUSTINGLY RUDE. Went in about 1am. Asked if I could have a cup of water and the bartender questioned me back with you really came in here for water?! I replied yes, is there a problem?She then said take your water and get the hell out of here then another bartender came up and tried to throw me out. One short curly hair brunette and the other was a tall blonde. Garbage humans but the music was good.

Cant really recommend this place. I walked in stone cold sober and was refused service just because....I guess it was late? I accepted a water and hung out thinking she might realize I was just here looking for a drink until I realized she didnt want to deal with me because she was hitting on a customer.Cool.Just wanted a drink, sorry to bother. Plenty of better bars within walking distance. Downtown st Pete is so much better than this place.

Drinks were okay. I lost money in the jukebox and the bartender couldnt do anything about it. Not sure Id go back if I was in the area again.

Good vibes, decent prices and one of the few dives left in the 200 block area if you just want to sit back and have one or two. Worth a visit or a pit stop if youre in the area and parking isnt crazy. Staff is probably the best part as they always have some of the friendliest and most genuine bartenders around 👌

Love this dive! One of the few classics left in St.Petersburg. Bartenders know their stuff! And Willy at the door is a true homegrown pleasure!

Great dive amongst the sea of hip and bro bars in St. Pete. Do a shotski with your friends.

Place is actually good vibes. Very small, but good music. The DJ was absolutely awesome tonight. Same to the bartenders. And i would give 5 stars BUT….My main concern, and why ill never come back (and ill do what it takes to make sure no one i know ever comes here) is one the idiot “bouncers”. I wouldnt typically describe someone, BUT, i want to make sure people leave this establishment, as soon as they see this idiot. Im not sure if it was a female or male, but the best way I could describe this being is, Garbage Pail kids meets Sid from Toy Story, in the worst way possible. This Napoleon complexed human seemed to have aggression towards everyone that checked in the door. It was clearly because they are smaller and way less intimidating than everyone, and tried to compensate by disrespecting and being loud/forceful with guests. This idiot had forced Tattoos everywhere (arms and fat thighs). Shaved head with the weird long front comb over. A little blonde i guess. VERY small in stature and presence. Absolutely zero human interaction skills. Youll know when you see it. Anywaysss. Ill come back with the ten people i came with, when i see that rodent gone! Until then, PLENTY of better bars nearby!

So I was leaving the Julian Marley concert and came into pelican. At this point all I wanted was a water because I felt super overheated. As Im trying to get the bartenders attention this random security chick comes up with a bottle of water and a cup of water as well and tells me to keep the water bottle on the back of my neck.I appreciate you random security chick. Youre a lifesaver

I was told by the bouncer at the door when I decided to come in that it was a private club and he refused to let me enter even though he was letting others enter. The only reason I can think of that he did this is based on my age. All of the other patrons were much younger than I.

Great local dive bar!

Used to be quite the dive bar, but its picked up the pace a bit. Compared to other local drinking establishments, one could consider it a bit divey. Love the scrawled nature of almost all the surfaces in the building. No pun intended.

Great no frills dive bar with a punk vibe, Todd was a sociable and efficient bartender.

I was there last night and had 2 shots, we tried to get another before we left but for some reason they refused to serve us because the guy at the door thought I had my limits! The problem was I was completely sober! Yes I can be loud but that does not mean assume she is super wasted! Smh I am not coming back here. We left and spent our money at Mcdittons!

Its a great little bar if you want to grab some beers with your buddies. Probably the best prices downtown. I wouldnt stay here all night, but its always in the mix while bar hopping. The service is always great as well.

Lovely no frills venue with a truly unique vibe compared to the other places around the central corridor. Friendly staff help as well! Must see!

Most of the bartenders are dope, good music, good djs when they have them, great drinks. Our home away from home

Had my credit cards stolen /skimmed by a female bartender. I would avoid this place at all costs. St Pete police found and returned my card too late it had fraudulently been charged.

No food but great place and great prices

With all the new construction in ST. Pete, it was great to see this classic still standing. Lots of memories in this place.

Came here 4 years ago. They had a Pac-Man machine so that’s mostly what we did.

She bar from hell but they make food drinks and the staff is fun.
