Massage Envy

Never had this many problems in other states/cities (franchises) booking service and Ive lived alot of places. Three times in a row the office TEXT me to say the massage therapist had to cancel. They did not offer any other therapist in same time slot or offer a complimentary massage. They finally agreed to cancel my membership. Its also hard to get an appointment unless its in the middle of the day on a weekday. I saw another review that said same thing. Massage therapists I did have were good, when I could actually get an appointment and they showed up. I am now going to an independent, woman-owned, highly qualified massage therapist nearby at a great price and NO ridiculous year long contract!

This has been the worst experience I’ve had with any massage place, they have a number that calls to a call center and I can never seem to get ahold of Stephanie. I’ve been playing phone tag weekly with these people even their corporate office sucks at returning phone calls because NOT once have I actually got a phone call from them. At this point this feels like a scam, my husband signed up for the monthly membership which I had to schedule him in for this location because the one in Kyle Tx. fulfill their side of the bargain and accommodate the amount of people, we have to book out months in advance. We have to literally drive into San Antonio or north Austin. The ONLY way you can cancel is by the manager of the location you signed up at and for some reason this manager IS NEVER AVAILABLE. Bank has blocked all charges moving forward.

A godsend for this old man. They simply rub and massage you the right way. Courteous, text you reminders. Im very happy with them. Id recommend you, my therapist. But shes so good. I want to keep her for myself.

Sadly been. Member since 2009 but when I cancelled membership they gave me less than 30 days to use 23 massages? Wouldn’t even allow me to gift them even after they said I could🥲Would not be such an issue if I could get an appointment when it is convenient for me!Disgruntled Customer

I have been a member of Massage Envy for a number of years, and have been coming to this location for a long time. The rooms are always emaculate, staff is extremely professional and attentive to your needs. Yesterday I had a 1 hour massage scheduled for my birthday, and was one of the best treatments I have had in a long time. Thank you for a great experience.

I will never get a membership service with Massage Envy again!!! Every time I called to schedule a service yall were always booked and I was never able to use my hours that I pay for every month and now that I cancelled yall are giving me a time frame to use my hours or I lose them. I think yall should be more compassionate especially that this has already been prepaid. Massage Envy is real quick on taking there money but making you use the hours fast before they expire...

Amanda was amazing! She checked in throughout the massage on how I was doing and was so fun to chat with. I felt so great afterwards. Highly recommend Amanda!😊

Had an appointment today at 4pm. Waited a couple of minutes past my scheduled appointment time getting called back (literally only about 5 minutes), however, the front desk staff was super friendly, my massage therapist Adelita was so sweet, and amazing! She explained everything we were doing, made me feel super comfortable, and was personable! I got my full 60 minutes of massage. I definitely recommend, the people here are great!

Canceling account since they can’t seem to provide customer service at stores where we get our services provided.

What I liked: the ambiance: serene and relaxing. My wait time was minimal. My masseuse was polite and welcoming.What disappointing: I called asking for pricing and was quoted $115 for a 90 minute session. When I paid the cost was $150 plus tip. When I asked the cashier, Bri, about the difference between the quote on the phone, she offered an “I’m sorry. All our 90 minute sessions are $150.The message is of course not 90 minutes, just like a 60 minute massage is not 60 minutes.We began a bit after 8:30 and ended at 9:50.I believe my masseuse was relatively new. We began face up. She didn’t communicate as much as I would have liked: what part is next, she didn’t ask about the pressure, but did oblige when I asked her to use less pressure. When we were done she asked how I felt and stated she’d be waiting outside with water.$150 was overpriced for this service and will check out other message places.

Do not book at this location. I have been a loyal member with Massage Envy going to a few locations in Texas. The facials are cut shorter than any other location in the city and less time than listed on the website. I requested to speak to a manager after 4 different sessions and never received a call. Today I finally spoke to a manager who was unprofessional and did not have adequate solutions. The service of the facialist is great but when I pay for a membership, I expect to get what I paid for.

Update 3 years later.These guys just never cease to disappoint. Tried again, and wouldnt you know it , get a call 4 hours before my appointment that they are canceling it and cant get me in anymore. I really have no idea how this place stays in business.Original reviewFirst things first, if you manage to get past the front desk, the actual masseuses are great.Getting past the front desk is not as easy as one would think. It seems almost impossible to get them to properly book an appointment, to the point where Im almost sure they miss-book things on purpose. My last appointment was (yet again) double booked and the somewhat rude lady at the front desk, glared at me and angrily told me that I needed to reschedule. Clearly the fault lay with me and my poor scheduling.If you want to book an appointment with a specific masseuse...well best of luck to ya.Will never go back.

After dealing with years of appointment changes and worse due to my military service, these folks finally got me to sign up for a membership! (I retired)Always willing to flex for my schedule, and adapt, all it has ever taken to get a great massage is to let them know what works for me. They knew me by name before I ever even paid for a membership!I never thought a franchise could provide what a private massage therapist could (flexible schedule, and well tailored therapy), but they do a great job here!

Best choice was becoming a member at this location especially. The receptionists are great and also Arnold did an amazing job with my massage. Highly satisfied customer here 👍🏽Recently it has been soooo hard getting someone on the phone. It’s convenient to leave a voice message however sometimes I would like a confirmation that my message was received

I loved Massage Envy in Vail Arizona! Ive been a member for YEARS! Military life moved us to San Antonio but my husband and I decided to continue our membership.The Alamo Ranch store was preferred due to location and convenience... however... after 2 visits, they started charging us on top of what we already pay monthly. We use the services at most bi monthly. I had a massage therapist fall asleep while massaging me. I also experienced a therapist with body odor issues. I tried another M.E. location and they will receive my business from now on.On a positive note: with the exception of one time, the reception staff greeted us with a smile and treated us with respect!

I booked a 2nd facial hoping that it will be a whole different experience than the first one (she just rubbed products on me, not a great exp.) and the 2nd visit was better but I wish it would have been worth the money.My appointment was at 2 pm and I arrived 10 minutes early. However, they didnt call me in until 2:10 pm and she didnt begin until 2:20 pm. The facial was supposed to be a 60 min session which only ended up being 40 minutes. It seemed rushed because of it and was very disappointing.

I have been coming here for massage for over 5 yrs.With a single exception, every visit has been great. I have especially enjoyed the services from Amanda and Deborah and Tamera.And the one sub par visit was still good, just that the pressure was a little too sharp.

Several bad experiences with this location. First time husband and I had 90 min scheduled we show up yet his masseuse did not show up. Second time around, both of us are scheduled again we get the message to come inside, they walk him in 15 min later in still waiting, I go ask front desk what is going on and just stay Im sorry your masseuse did not show up. Now again we have two appointments for sat we call to confirm time and they state only one person shows up as appointment that apparently the person who booked the appointment didn’t type the phone number correctly so it was canceled but it’s ok since that person no longer works there. Extremely bad service only reason we keep trying is due to having accrue credit

Not impressed. Scheduled a 60 minute prenatal massage with an enhancement for an extra $10. Spent less than 45 minutes even in the room. Massage started 15 minutes late and ended a few minutes early. There were lots of delays and down time between portions. Lots of time spent preparing the lotions and scrubs and not a lot of time applying them. Won’t be back.

I moved to San Antonio 8 months ago, I hated leaving my VA Massage Envy behind-Chad, my Massage therapist was awesome! I recently started going to the Westover location a month ago and had an amazing massage-Eloy is the best, his deep tissuemassages are serious...but necessary. The deep tissue massage-Lol, had me cursing the first 20 minutes-really loosened me up tremendously. He knows what hes doing, I havent felt this good in a while. The staff are professional, provide great customer service, adhere to Covid safety practices and prompt. Think Ill stick to this location.

Good massage therapist and staff, it’s just a little old. Seats are old and they don’t send you to the wait room until after your done with your paperwork. There was no music and the therapist hands were SO cold. I’ve been to really nice massage envy’s, maybe this one just needs some updating.

After I finished a month of physical therapy, I booked Tammy for the BEST massage Ive EVER had! After 90 minutes with Tammy, I was limber and loose. I felt energized and years younger. It completely surprised me! Im a 67 year old retired teacher, and Ill be going back twice a month - its worth every penny!!

Had a deep massage with Antonio. My back and neck had been hurting for quite some time. When I left there I was able to stand straight with no discomfort on my back and neck. I was sore and tender the next few days. I took some ibuprofen and had an Epsom salt bath and it help. Set a second appt 5 days later to continue my recovery.Thank you Antonio and Massage Envy.P. S. I signed up for membership.

Horrible massage. Therapist kept telling me to relax. Which is fine, but when someone tells you to relax consistently you are usually unable to. Another customer was on their phone in the quiet room... kinda annoying and not relaxing... my therapist was also late. Waste of money. :(

I have been dissatisfied regarding the customer service and scheduling. With what I have gone through, how patient I have been with the misunderstandings or accidental error I am fed up! Awaiting the managers call this Monday - but Im not sure if I will be returning.. just be sure to have things set in stone and a CLEAR understanding of what you want...PS..Massage therapists themselves have been very good.

My experience was very nice, everyone is very friendly, and they definitely take care of whatever you need when it comes to a massage. My massage therapist was super nice, and told me how I can help a very sore area. Definitely going back :)

I love, love, love, love this place. The clinic administrator Anastasia really loves her job and you can tell because her staff seems too be at home with each other and the customers that come in. I laugh with the front staff every time I come in. Never a disappointment when I am there. My therapist is Will and that dude is b.a. and I thank GOD for his blessed hands. By the end of the month my body is like hello dont you think its time too see Will. I love it when the staff calls and confirms my appointments, again its always a fun time. I hate that I cant afford too go every two weeks. And there was a pro football player that signed up for regular visits with one of the therapist. This location does not value the clients Time.I had an appointment at 6:15pm. I received an email reminder the day prior, which mentioned the apt was t 615 and to arrive in comfortable clothing. I arrived at 6:02pm, as I knew there would be some paperwork. I was greeted appropriately and timely and was given a paper 2 page form to fill out. I was then given an IPAD to fill out, which was 90% the identicle questions that were asked on the piece of paper form. No big deal, they were short. I was then moved to a separate lobby where one waits for the therapist to come get the patient/customer. At 6:27pm, I got up and left. My appointment was for 6:15. I arrived over 10 mins early. Why should I wait OVER 12 min for a therapist who is running late? If I wanted an appointment at 630 I would of made one for 630. It was for 615. This location should be more cognizant and repectfull of customers time. If they are going to have patients waiting beyond their scheduled time, they need to then give 5 extra minutes between appointment gaps, or correct problem source.************11/3/17******I decided to give this location a 2nd chance. About 1 month ago, I made an appointment with April. The visit was fantastic. On time, fantastic service, very impressed.I went back again today, my apt was at 5pm. The apt was with Adriana. This is the same person it was with the very 1st time. Same issue.I arrived at 455pm, and sat there till 5:20pm. No one said anything to me, after I waited and waited. at 520pm I got up and left again. There is either a problem with the scheduling, or a problem with certain therapist running over every visit. I am no more important than anyone else, but when I tell someone 5pm, it means 5pm. If someone is running late, like 5:20, its common courtesy to at the minimum explain the conditions to the client. At 520, I informed the desk to cancel my appointment, which was for 5pm. I let them know my apt 2 months ago, the same thing happened. All I got back was ya I remember. Thats it......I have a membership to massage envy, and live in Williams Grant (Alamo ranch) , so this location WOULD be best for me, but due to the wait time, I have to use the Bandera Point location by my work.......

Massage Envy in the Medical Center is my go to. The staff are great and always have positive attitudes whenever Ive called or been in person.

My card expired today, 09/15/2016, when i attempted to use it they refused. I explained that i never saw the expiration date. However, they refused to give me an appointment. You are a business and you should accommodate your potential customers. My wife is a member, but now will be terminating with you guys. Thank you for being lousy and for not accommodating your customers. Bad business decision!

I had a 60 min massage that cost 60 dollars. It started at 8:20 pm and ended at 9pm. Does that mean if I got a 30min you only get 20 minutes. I think they should change the signs to 20 min massage and 40 min massage!!!! To me its false advertising!!!

Massage staff ok.Got referred to second therapist on first visit thought that was rude. You get hit with contract while your dizzy and disoriented after first massage. Called to cancel contract put on hold 5 times closer manager come on and tells me im hours late giving them a 3 day notice so they have to charge me 70.00 charge as a penalty..Keep the 70.00 you need ot more than I do and we will never do business again.

It was okay, not the best...wanted someone who knows how to release knots without using their forearms on boney areas. Most of massage 98.99% was with forearms, not everything should be massage with forearms...areas where knots were in boney areas should be massage and manipulated with hands and fingers. I was sore only on those areas. Will give them another try and see how it goes. This was my first visit here.

I get a massage here every time my daughter gives me a gift card and they are all great. My masseuse is wonderful. They are always courteous and professional.

I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. The staff are so friendly and the place is very clean and organized. I went in with horrible neck and shoulder pain and walked out with no pain at all. If I could rate it more than 5 stars I would.

Friendly excellent customer service and great services offered to keep your body at its best! Massage therapists have no problem changing the pressure to accommodate your needs!!

The people up front are great. I bought my wife a package for her B day. She loved it, not to pricey. Check them out if you need a massage.

Same great service I expect from Massage Envy, but this locations reception and waiting areas are lacking in ambiance /atmosphere. Ill go back but torn chairs and no decor are not the norm.

I highly recommend Selina for a facial. She is very professional and knowledgeable.

My therapists is great! The front desk staff is very rude, especially Brie. I had a membership issue and she was very rude to me in discussing it.

I called and called for about 30 minutes and nobody ever picked up the phone. I was going to book two very expensive massages but I couldn’t help but wonder What customer service would be like if nobody could bother picking up the phone.

Got a gift card to use here haven’t been able to schedule a week an appointment they have been booked solid for three months unable to go during the week because of work schedule so I guess I just wasted my money
