Funny I have been living for some time in SF and never stepped inside the Last Call. Luckily I didnt wait until the last call to give this place a try. I love the fact that its low key, no drama. Great selection of top shelf spirits and many brands which you typically dont get to see in other bars. In addition, very knowledgeable bartenders who know and love their craft. Four thumbs up, oops I see double, two thumbs up.
The cocktails here are top-notch! (A rarity for the Castro.) Make sure to try one of the cocktails off of the menu on the chalkboard at the center of the bar. Sometimes it’s so busy that you can barely find standing room, which can still be fun, but for the peak experience, come at a slow time when there are seats at the bar. My only complaint is that sometimes they’re running one bartender when they should be running two. Overall: a hidden gem.
Fun bar with a great ambiance in the Castro. Its an everybody bar where, no matter who you are, you can have a great time. The bartenders are lovely. The owners are super nice.
Nice bar.Nobody in when we turned up but then it was 15:15 on. Monday afternoon.Harry Potter silent on TV and the Psychedelic Furs playing over the speakers followed by Yazoo.Chilled.
This is my go-to spot in the Castro for a well crafted cocktail, good conversations and fun. I always end up meeting with and talking to so many random people. And the fact that I can order a Paper Plane, Naked and Famous, Aviation, or a Last Word with the bartenders not blinking in confusion is priceless - CJ in particular is the BEST.Bonus points for the content on their TVs where you never know what random movie on DVD will be playing from Death Becomes Her to Rat Race to random horror flicks.
I dropped in to Last Call a few days ago for the first time. Its a small and cozy bar with friendly patrons and a knowledgeable bartender. I was impressed with the collection of whiskey, tequila and gin on the shelves. Had a quick drink and was on my way. Made me wish I had arrived earlier into the evening to try their spicy margarita. Would definitely recommend!
Great ambiance for a drink after an afternoon at Dolores
This is a great little bar in the Castro with a cozy atmosphere. Staff is friendly and chatty. You can tell Pats know each other. Its a great place to relax for a drink.
Hands down my favorite bar in the Castro. Friendly and nice bartenders, great music on the jukebox, sports or random movies on the tv’s, dog friendly, nice owners, and usually not packed. Specialty top shelf cocktails, your standard mixed drink menu, and decent draft and bottled beer selection.Recommend for a quick drink during the day, a mid-date stop for some conversation, beginning a night, or as the name suggests, last stop.
The queer bar for everyone. It’s my favorite neighborhood spot on an afternoon, late night and everything in between. The bartenders are friendly and warm, the crowd is a spectrum of young, old, eclectic and everything you come to love about San Francisco. Its always easy to talk to new folks or have a chill night with your date. And I love that It’s got an active juke box that people actually use 👏 all the charm of a dive bar but verrry good cocktails, daily specials, clean floors, up kept and not grimey at all
This is a great neighborhood bar with fantastic bar tenders.
Love this bar! The staff members are super friendly, they are dog-friendly (YAY!), and the drinks are great. I love that they also have a juke box and fireplace. It feels cozy and comfortable with a diverse mix of patrons. Def a place to stop in for a friendly neighborhood drink- or three 😉
Last Call is a real gem of a neighborhood bar. Their drinks are top notch, reasonably priced, and the jukebox never disappoints.
Lively little bar had fun meeting new people
What a cute place! Pretty small but wasn’t packed at all on a Saturday night. Great chill vibe if you’re just looking to get a great drink and hang without the bumpin music of Castro 😂
Very chill spot within walking distance of the party bars. Definitely fitting of its name! I didnt order anything on my quick visit, but would definitely go back if I wanted something quiet near Castro.
Up until my latest experience, this bar was a 5 star place. I’m by no means a regular, but I have been several times now and have always had a great time. The vibes are chill, welcoming, and their drinks are great. Whenever I have friends in town or the group doesn’t know where we should go, I always suggest Last Call. But this most recent time I went, our experience with the bartender wasn’t the best. My friends and all (all POC) were met with pushback from the bartender regarding our IDs. I’m never upset when someone asks for my ID, but the bartender was saying snarky comments about our IDs being from different states and straight up saying to one of my friends, “this looks fake, but I’ll take it.” We tried chatting to her about how we all met in college, but she brushed us off in an unfriendly way that I’d never experienced before by the bartenders here. I noted that all of us were POC because the encounter led us to a discussion about how 3 of them often get their IDs checked and get rude comments which can often be attributed to Asian infantilisation. It threw a wrench in our night and my perspective of the place — that even a great place has its faults.
Im so happy that someone jumped in to keep this gem of a bar open. Tiny bars are my favorite in SF, and there really arent many of them... This and the Black Horse London Pub are the only 2 that jump to mind, and that has a similar story of a client taking the reins to keep it from closing. Thats heritage!
Cute and cozy bar. Can be crowded weekends. Legit, reasonably priced cocktails and beers.
Super stunning bar for the afternoon chill. Music is awesome and the super professional bar tender Irwin is so charmingly nice 👏👏👏👏👏
Its easy for me to walk here. Harder to walk home since its so hilly around the part of Castro. Fun to go and watch people sloppily hit on each other. Not a real dive bar but not super classy either. Somewhere in between, which is just fine with me.
Great place! Very small and private, the staff is very sweet and the atmosphere is great. I feel safe here too since it is LGBTQ+ friendly.
The last gay bar on the 18th street stretch of Castro. Opens up around midnight and closes after... last call. A quiet little dive, this place is no-frills, but after a night out in Castro, you wont notice. Lost my phone in Castro one night, and spent the next day hungover and looking for the bar that called my housemate to say I left it at last call. Turns out I forgot I was actually at Last Call Bar.
It has a cozy feel, almost like a dive bar filled with old friends. I didnt try any drinks, but the certainly looked good.
Nice bar & music. Kevin rocks with his recommendations. Beer & Cider on tap, shots and more. Defenately a place to visit around the Castro district.
Negronis? Top shelf whiskeys? They got the things. The front open greening is a Feng shui plus plus. Drink here.
Best bar in the Castro. Cozy vibes and bar tenders who know how to make a drink. Keep your money queer; bring cash.
Just discovered this tiny gem with comforting, dim ambience and classy cocktails and classic 80s and 90s movies always running.
Literally the best bar ever. good cocktails and the best vibes. 1000000/10
Friendly Irish barman and patrons. First day in San Francisco and met a delightfully friendly gay couple to share a few beers with and chat.
No food, obviously, amazing atmosphere and the coolest bartenders
Interesting experience, free condoms, fun ppl, but ....youll wait forever till your songs time
Small bar if you want to go with just one person. If you go with a group of people it could get a little crowded.
Bartender was jolly and she recommended good stuff! Great drinks 🍹 and overall $$😉
Great selection of booze behind the bar, and probably the best juke box in the Castro!
Just walked by and saw a notice of application for change of ownership (photo posted). I really hope the new owners keep the awesome chill vibe this place had.
Kenith behind the bar was super friendly and attentive. The cocktails I tried were different from usual and very nice.
CJ is fabo. Total doll and personable.
Always a favourite for a drink or two when we are walking back to our hotel from the Castro
Suuuper good vibes. Bartender was super nice and everyone in there seemed to know each other.
Fun bar. Great drinks. Halloween decorations were fantastic. Good service .
They have the fire place on during the winter , so comfy and cute
Been here three times and each time they have been friendly and welcoming!
We had a nice time ...music was good because I picked it and most important the drink were cheap
Great spot for cheap drinks and a really rad neighborhood bar on the border of Casto!
So dark inside you dont notice youre getting drunk. 3$/drink until 7pm and I got a free drink as a welcome gift!
Liked it better when they had pinball and it was gay and more of a dive.
Good drinks, great music, good local bar even if youre not a local.
Really small hole in the wall. Definitely overlooked by the local Castro neighbors. Great space for intimate conversations
Fun low key bar. Good prices and good variety.
Very friendly, great bar staff and some good beers on tap.
Great place to have drinks and a good craft beer
Good, friendly and fun atmosphere. Gets louder as the night progresses.
Chill place and good service. Very much a neighborhood spot so that service is friendly.
Friendly neighborhood bar serving reasonably priced drinks
Love this bar! So random that all these things came together!
A little hole in the wall bar for a quick drink on your way home late night.
Nice vibe here. We had fun.
Such amazing staff that is always so engaging!
Local bar, a bit small but nice.
Bartender does not check in
Cozy neighborhood bar with good beer selection.

A little divey.
Cute place
Perfect to go have a quiet beer in the Castro district. You can chat and avoid the noise and crowds of the other bars in the district.
Good vibes and Carlos is a very good bartender, nice and comfortable place
