If you’re looking for great vibes, music, and strong yet tasty drinks, then Skylark is the place to go! Their drink menu is expansive and not sugary. They bring in great DJs who can actually read the room and make you want to dance. We started at skylark for bar hopping but honestly ended up going back because the music and drinks were way better than other bars in the area. The crowd gets lively between 10 and 11 and goes on for a while. I never have a bad time at skylark - I’d highly recommend!

Far too expensive, and disorganized. Its as if its a swanky event venue, but with only the prestige, tech, staffing, or organization of a dive bar.Their bartender was excellent, but there was only one (despite he was needed to help make drinks, oversee food orders delivered from next door, help troubleshoot A/V, and ensure the 2 drink minimum for that night was met). This led to long waits, and if it hadnt been such a skilled dude, would be miserable for everyone.Hours are not clear, you get something different everywhere you look. We learned it didnt open until 7pm (before a 8pm comedy show) which makes no sense.Worst of all is the cost. Bought a pint of cheap light beer (sapporo draft) at the end of the night and was going to buy one for some of the comedians. It came in a small plastic cup that and was $11 (before tip). Mind you, an entire six pack of 12oz bottles of this beer is $10. Our happy hour drinks and $2 tacos were more expensive than full price drinks at nearby bars. I cringe wondering what their full price nights are (since, you guessed it, they dont have an organized menu with prices available).Loved it walking in, felt scammed by the end.

My friend and I (both women) had the most invasive pat down I’ve ever received trying to enter this bar. I understand trying to ensure safety but the way the guard was feeling us up so aggressively with absolutely no respect and spending almost a minute rifling through our bags left an awful taste in my mouth. We didn’t even end up going inside because of how uncomfortable it made us.

Earlier this year, I had the opportunity to work with the Skylark team to use their venue for a fun hang out for my church. They reserved tables for us, allowed us to bring in outside food (due to special circumstances with their kitchen at the time), and provided drinks right away. The music was 90’s R&B - need I say more? I’ve heard they have themed nights and have a variety of playlists so I will definitely be coming back for more!!Not only were they easy to work with, but their service was top-notch. Even after our event ended, a few people stayed behind because they enjoyed the space so much and the owner gave us BOTTLE SERVICE and a sign with our church name on it!! We didn’t even ask for this so it was a cherry on top of a great night out. We still talk about it to this day lol. We had such a great time at Skylark and we will be working again with them again and again!

False advertising, no tacos, not happy hour pricing. Did not get delivered second drink I paid for despite being explicitly told it would be brought over

It’s not too busy so you don’t have to stand in line. No cover charge before 10 or so which is good and the music is good. The drinks were okay. The dancing stage isn’t big so if you’re there for dancing, you might want to go elsewhere unless you go there early enough when it’s not too busy.

Expensive drinks. Comedy show is false advertising- no tacos and not happy hour prices, racist/unfunny comedians.

I tried the Kimchi Martini, and its a unique delight! The blend of gin, soju, sweet vermouth, kimchi brine, and lime juice offers a surprising and delightful flavor profile. The kimchi garnish adds a tangy kick, elevating the experience.

Was excited to see the burlesque show but the sound system made it impossible to hear anyone. The comedian was so enthusiastic but I couldn’t hear a thing she said from the middle of the bar. The dancer was hot so that helped!

Trash dive bar trying to be an upscale nightclub in the heroin capital of SF. No one goes to 16th and Mission for a pretentious experience. Skip this place. It will definitely be closed by this time next year.

My friend and I were just here on Friday and we had a great time...Zoey (bar tender) made us one of the best lemon drop martini Ive had. She was great, always made sure to return to us...never left us unattended, she made us feel like we were regulars. I always make sure to stop at Skylark every time Im in San Francisco...Ive been coming back since Ive first discovered this place over 10years ago. If youre looking for great service, awesome drinks and music that gets you of the chair, this is it! Cant wait to come back.

Dance floor started to get busy around 11. New bar so no menu yet. Bartenders are so nice and make quality drinks. Definitely recommend 👍👍👍

If you get a little earlier than 10pm you get a nice table, they have good music and at some point they play at little bit of reggaeton which is refreshing. My only suggestion would be to check people before entering the place.

Came here last night for my 40th birthday.. I had a blast.. music was 👌🏽 luv the vibe and everyone there.. my girls and i would visit again when were in town..

Make sure to pre-game beforehand. The bartenders get way too drunk, break glasses and get your drinks wrong. The average wait time on drinks was 15-20 minutes, so order multiple drinks at a time.The music is great! Awesome vibe! But I wish service would be a bit better. This was pretty consistent the last few times I’ve been here.

Great spot for hiphop and old school dancing, drinks are a little pricey for that kind of spot but stick to your wells drink. I saw their burlesque show Friday night, really enjoyed it -- full of energy and great show.Cover fee usually after 9/10 but its usually around $5Dance floor is small, you have a mix of crowd types but its fun!

One of the few places close to Valencia where you can still find a diverse crowd that is lite on the shirt tuckers that frequent the area. Small, lit dance floor that gets crowded and hot. But if you know how to handle yourself and not display a sense of entitlement, your sure to have fun.Note for single guys, do dont stand in a group and dance with each other, ladies dont respond to that. Also, they respond less to the predatory nature of a large group of guys leering at them on the dance floor. Be respectful and approach, youll be surprised.I come here with my wife a couple times a month. Never had a problem, check the attitude, respect the bar tenders and enjoy yourself. Most importantly, dont be whack. The Mission has enough of that. Keep it a buck and enjoy yourself.

If you are looking for Hip Hop to dance to without having to deal with all the Club BS, you should come check this place out. No cover and the dance floor is always packed. Sure it doesnt have all the hottest people, but everybody is there to have a good time! From outward appearances, it can seem a bit ratchet, but once you have couple of drinks and step out on the dance floor, its all love.Drinks are fairly cheap ~$7 and the bar is pretty quick, even when its crowded. Open seating, but that pretty much fills up even before the dance floor gets going.

Place is nice. But some DJ kapri is taking advantage of this place name and selling the tickets on behalf of the bar. We brought the tickets online and when we reached to bar there was stand up comedy not party event. So DJ kapri is doing some scams be careful.

I’m giving this place 5 stars solely because of the bartender. I’m really kicking myself for not getting his name because he was the best part of my visit to SF last night for my 26th birthday. My friends and I started and ended our night here. The bar itself has a really chill vibe. A friend had recommended it to me. Once the DJ arrived, he played hip hop (a mix of throwbacks and current stuff). It was pretty empty, but that was to be expected on a Tuesday night. I think it would be a lot more fun with a decent crowd to dance with. If I go back to SF, I’ll def stop by again.

Unsafe!! Was pickpocketed here and they used our cards at the bar. Bar tender shrugged her shoulders. There are so many other bars to go to that are way better..

There was a Bartender i didnt catch her name but im sure youll know which ome if you encounter her, she was very unfriendly and very rude. All of the other bartenders are friendly but not her. I asked her if she can make my drink slightly stronger and her respinse was no! I make it how i make it deal with it she had a very nasty attitude when i just wanted to have a good time. I hope i dont encounter her again.

They have a Monday night reggae party here presented by I&I VIBRATION its a strictly vinyl only night. Roots dub dancehall and remix the night is called skylarking and its every Monday night 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. no cover 21 and up with ID

Very disappointing experience, a bartender ( a new one, I believe, Asian girl ) told, demand to tip her every time I order a drink, I asked why, she said cause this is America, after I paid Cover and tipped her on my first round of order, she got the nerve to demand a tip, on every round, it is a reflection of hatrate and unacceptable behavior. I have been going to this place for quite some time now. Good music, a good vibe but I couldnt belive I would have this kind of treatment. I am a good customer, a very good tipper but this Friday, I felt hella disaponted and uncomfortable, I had to leave earlier. What a shame.

It has been over 3 years that I havent go to this place it was nice that I still have it in San Francisco but it was very disappointing I do not recommend you to take your girlfriend to this bar

1st time goin and I loved it the music is on point the DJ knows how 2 keep the crowd I didnt get bored and enjoyed all the songs the environment is good I will be returning

We had a great time there. Drinks were cheap and very nice. There was a very nice show (Friday night ). But be careful because it gets crowded very quickly.

I love this place its great. You get the option of chilling like at a bar, or dancing , great music the price of drinks can get sketchy though. all of the bartenders have different prices and charge differently. Make sure you ask before you order

Duuuuuuuddee, I get it youre a bouncer but these fellas are rude. And how can you charge a cover when its empty on a Friday night and they aint offering music, good vibez or l ambiance? Pass. Regardless.

I got a little claustrophobic cuz the bathroom is in the way way back and the drinks kind of pricey but not bad. Music was kind of bootsy but its not the DJ fault. Its 2017s fault. Lol

Im born & raised is SF and never gave it chance due to previous activity on 16th st but that was 15 yrs ago now that City Hall has cleaned up its safer then going to church on Sundays!!
