Walked in waiting for Fat Tuesday music. Needed a drink. Ordered Arnold Palmer special. Yummy drink and reasonable. Tuesday is Jazz Night. Bring cash $20 minimum for cards! Great band Gamper Drums.

Boom Boom is quite the music space. Great drinks, nothing fancy ($8 beer pints) but unbeatable vibe.

Ive been coming here for years. Its a fantastic room with killer sound. Its small and cozy and the vibe is incredible. Theyll charge you at the door. Often special guests sit in from The Fillmore Theater across the street. The neighborhood is fine, Fillmore/Japan town. However, park in the garage but check the hours. The Japantown mall has awesome food options. Its often funk, groove, soul, NOLA. Its worth the cover. The caliber of musicians is super-high. Always a good time!

Memories of this place.... I would stop by on my way home from work if I took the limited. About to close out my tab and next thing I know, JL was flirting with the woman next to me. I said to the bartender, Ill have another!l What an amazing experience.

Super FUN venue, 5/5! If you love live Blues, youve got to make time to get in here. Gets going around 10pm, show up early for seating. If you have guests from out of town you absolutely have to take them here! Right up there with Chicago and New Orleans for live, local entertainment!

Saw Groove 8 here July 2 2023. The band was tight!Its a cozy, intimate venue with places to sit and a dance floor.(The bathroom needed attention, though)

Your classic San Francisco dive bar. They need purse hooks in the bathroom. Thats my only legit complaint.

The website said doors open at 8, show at 9, $10 cover. When we got there, cover was $15 a person. We had very early work the next day plus our guest had to catch a plane so we ended up leaving just before 11pm after waiting hours. As we left the curtain was just going up. The music was great, from the small amount we heard, and the drinks were fine. I just wish the information was a bit more accurate so we could have shown our guest more live music.

The music was great, really enjoyed listening to such a high calibre of jazz, nothing cliche here and very friendly clientele & staff as well.

This venue is fun and certainly a party. this is the spot you want to go to if you want to go to a dance party or after show with all the other degenerates who are ready to keep the party going. its fun as hell, the people who go are cool, the music is great and the security guards are chill as hell..... the place has some cool history with bands who are much bigger now. dont sleep on this spot.it is oversold sometimes, however.

Low key venue with a stage toward the back. Jazz band on Friday was amazing. Enough space to dance and booth seating across the left side of the spot. Bar had hip lighting and great energy. Will be back

First time attending a show & I was blown away with the quality of the band (Lantz Laswell & The Vibe Tribe featuring special guests), the awesome bar staff did a fantastic job wrangling everyone. Will be coming back.

Schedule showed available for Baac and accepting clients. After scheduling and paying (which was voided), the stylist declined with no information.I later asked why, and they responded that they werent taking on new clients.This is either a problem with the app (The Cut) or a problem with the stylist (Baac) but for future clients looking for a stylist in the area please note that this stylist isnt trying to take on new clients.

What an interesting place! This place was recommended by my Uber driver the other night and then I kinda forgot about it. I was walking back to my hotel from dinner another night and saw the name of this place. Looks kinda sketchy from the outside; there were two guys collecting $20 or $25 to get in. Once you get in, the diversity of the crowd strikes you right away. Super cool - all ages, genders, races, cultures - I loved it! Everybody was dancing and having fun! The live band did a great job. Drinks are rather simple, but couldn’t complain. I highly recommend checking this place - especially later at night!

What a fantastically historic and badass bar/music venue. The staff was great but most importantly there was a free show that was amazing. DJ Kevvy Kev( wutang) another fantastic local musician Geulio Cetto/and Thomas Prigden (the mars Volta drummer), vibed the boom boom room all night. This spot will be a constant for me when visiting San Francisco for sure!

Excellent music vibes of course. Can get strong stench from old beer probably the night before but that may also be because I arrived too early. Its a comfy atmosphere that hosts some of the most talented jazz artists in the Bay Area.

For an amazing intimate concert venue this place cant be beat. The warm up acts to Little hurricane especially Jade Jackson Group was great and Little Hurricane was great as well. Wish they came on a little early cause by midnight they were only halfway through. Sound system was perfect the climate was perfect. Wish they had some more chairs on the side. If you want to sit get their when doors open.

Pros:Friendly, quick service.Groovy atmosphere.Live music that got the crowd moving.Cons:Over $6 for a soda water?! Not even bottled - the stuff from the bar gun. Oof... thats criminal. Shame on you.$20 cover! Hope it all goes to the band.Yeah, Id go back. Might have to sell my firstborn child to afford it though. Am I being cheap here? I feel like youre looking at me like Im being cheap. But seriously though six dollars for carbonated tap water? Gadzooks. Okay, Im done. Go dance at boom boom and sneak your own club soda in jee willikers.

Boom Boom Room is simply amazing. One of the only bars in San Francisco that police dont hang outside of because theres no violence. The most diverse group if people come through every Sunday. Most are amazed with the fact that so many people come out the night before Monday. Its more like a reggae night then a hip hop Night. The live music is amazing and a DJ is also really good. If you like the freestyle or sing the stage is open for you. Nobody judges you! At the end of the day its beautiful! Hey when you come say hello to Corey the door guy. Tell him that Lavon sent you. Cool spot for live jazz/funk music & cheap cocktails. Its very divey with old school vibes. They have a DJ spinning 90s hip hop on Sundays. No cover charge. Friendly staff. Diverse crowd.

We went on Saturday night and there was hardly a line outside, which was nice. The lines at the bar moved pretty fast, and the place was packed. I was a little surprised at how crowded it was considering the 15 dollar cover.I loved the music. There was a great funk band that got everyone dancing and riled up the energy. As it got later and people left, we had a ton of space to dance. The crowd was well behaved and happy.PBR in the bottle is also pretty fantastic. Im a huge fan, although they cleared all of our half full beer when we werent looking which was annoying.I liked it here and would come back.

Nice club. I go all the time to see my guy WIL BLADEZ!! The music is incredible & different than other clubs around. If you want to hear some awesome jazz and a nice drink than this is the spot for you. Typically not too crowded. Stays open until about 3am. Dont arrive too late, cover can sometimes go from free to 20 in an instance

Fans of rap freestyle need to come visit on Sunday nights at 10pm. Live band, DJ, and open mic style rap battles. Great crowd and performances where amazing, some real talent here!

Im glad a place like this exists. Dark and mysterious, always something jazzy or snazzy on the stage, decent bartenders, cool atmosphere, and one of those bars where everyone feels like theyre on the same page. Plus, super easy to get to (38 meets the 22), and if youre starving, you can hit the burger king up the street and chow on it on the way back to the bar.

Wonderful music. Just pay attention to your credit card. I left mine opened and realized only when I arrived home that I paid all the drinks for a happy guy which also has a surname Ferrari.

Owners dont know how to run a live music venue. Dont have a hip hop DJ lead into a jazz set. Seating along the wall, while the main floor is empty. Why sell tickets when the venue is mostly empty? Avoid.

This was a chill and unique bar with a really cool history. I went on one of their only nights without live music but, they played a great selection of local & popular hip hop music.

Small room. Great music. Friendly staff. Red light everywhere, so dont spend too much time on makeup, lipstick disappears unless its super dark. Like brown or black. I know, relevant!

I havent had any issues with the boom boom room because it has been an amazing time every time I get to go I dont want to leave the staff is real they know the. People and make sure you are taken care now the icing on top every single star rockin band no matter what its an honor to grace the stage because your the most important part that makes going the time of your life rocking. Blues sweets sounds recall the times of our life enjoy the once In A lifetime events that you can only get a the boom boom Room I know that cant wait to get to go again. I dont typically go on week days, but sundays are when it goes down! Hip hop freestyles from local artist and their brothers, ROTC group performances and live music/ dancing. Great time to go with friends.

Really cool venue with a great live sound for a small venue. Cover and beer prices reasonable, and theres a giant velvet curtain that raises on the bands. Swank.

One of my top three places to see live music in the city.Management does an excellent job of curating excellent acts and getting them to come back happy.I like to go here for the NoLa stuff especially.

Great place. A slice of New Orleans in California. Musical acts are typically first rate! Only downsides: shows start too late, and it can get crazy packed in there.

Typical dive bar smell location fo GREAT music for 60 years, as in non techno, more blues, soul, etc. doubt techno would play 7 nights a week. During daylight exterior looks like not much happenin cuz it happens when sun dont shine.

Beware, very rude door man! I showed up alone, smiled and asked politely if I could leave him my ID to go check and make sure my friends were inside, as it is not always safe for a woman to go out by herself, and he yelled at me We dont f***ing do that! You pay $20 or you dont get in ok?! Wow, did not expect that. I froze and gave him the money even though I felt humiliated and wanted nothing more than to get back in my car and drive home, but I knew there was a good chance my friends were inside and I didnt want to disappoint the bday girl...sooooo I swallowed my pride and paid the cover to get in, but I will think twice before going back to that place and risking seeing that guy again. Its too bad because this is a really cool old school venue with great music and good vibes.

Best after party spot in the city for live music (open till 3:30am many nights of the week). They always have good New Orleans Funk coming through there.

Its a great little club - they bring in good sets and I love coming over before/in between sets at the Fillmore. Its small and cozy and exactly what I want for funk, soul, and jazz.

I performed there a couple of times and been there multiple times for shows. If you like small venues this place is awesome!!! And the staff are really nice!

I went there because John Lee Hooker my favorite blues guy, it turned out a very nice place, there was a band playing pretty funk music, love it.

The Live band was very good the service is outstanding. The level of people and the maturity is Right. I recommend a mean visit to the Boom Boom Room.

Shocking. Bunch of old fellas plodding about with plastic beer cups. Doorman pinched me for $20 proclaiming bands and DJs. Once inside it was clear nothing was happening, besides a red velvet curtin and some bad country. No refund and no respect from the two oafs on the door.

The boom boom room is a great place to go realize, the escort girls are the best. Stay the night or stay as long as you like.

That bartender with eyeglasses has very rude attitude. The cocktail he made is really bad. And he literally said it is not my problem unbelievable. Will never go back.

Those two guys at the front door will try very hard to ruin your night. They dont deserve your money or attention. If they are kind enough to look at you and let you in, the music will not be worth it.

It sucks when one of things youre most looking forward to on your holiday is scuppered by a sign on the door saying no backpacks. No notice of this silly policy on their website. Really disappointed.

One of the bartenders here jacked a $50 bill from me by giving me change for a 20. I didnt realize it until later so I couldnt really confront them. Lesson learned.

We left before the main act because the advertisement listed a 9:00pm show. Well there was an opening act that wasnt mentioned in the advertisement and they went on and on...

Was asked for 50 bucks to carry my laptop bag in, after they opened and checked it. Then the 2 gentlemen at the door for into an argument about how I was supposed to carry the bag once inside.
