The breakfast burrito was bland and the flour tortilla for it was like sandpaper. They said that type of flour just isnt soft, and it wouldnt be if they make their own tortillas. How are you gonna ask me how my food is and when I politely answer youre gonna be defensive? Word for word, I said, It was good, but the tortilla is a bit hard to chew. Either dont ask, or be productive by saying you take my feedback into consideration, or make me a new burrito with softer tortilla. It was not worth the $ even though the interior was very nice and the server was attentive.
I went one day on a whim after passing by and was not disappointed. Very friendly service and a very filling plate of nachos that required my bloated self to be rolled out by oompa loompas as god intended! Margaritas were also sublime. Will definitely be making a return.
The food is okay. It is definitely set for the PNW pallette so very light on the spicing. The service was phenomenal though and so was the company i was keeping there. Ill definitely go back but would love it if the food was a little more flavorful.
The local bar in the area we have been waiting for. Solid food, excellent drinks. They have good happy hour specials and brunch on the weekends. Have not been to one of their shows, but on our to do list!
Solid fare plus great drinks and incredible service. Always love coming here. Their house made tortillas are the best in the city!
Absolutely outstanding experience at Baja Bistro! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, thank you Michael for the great service! The margaritas were awesome, perfectly crafted with just the right balance of flavors. And lets talk about the breakfast chilaquiles – to die for! Great flavor and presentation. Baja Bistro has definitely set the bar high. Cant wait to return for another great meal!
Went for brunch had the 3 egg omelet with chorizo mushrooms onion and pico. It came with some nice bread and great sauce. Very yummy and the waiter was so nice and what shall I say “HOT”! Will be back.
Breakfast on a Friday was quick and the corn tortillas ruled. Love having a colorful brunch spot without having to wait.
Baja is back and somehow the food is like significantly better than before (it was already great). Spectacular north Mexican regional food, and great margaritas as always. New space is very nice and tasteful. Drag nights as fun as ever. Plus this family is a pillar of the beacon hill community.
Really good place to curb your mexican food cravings. really nice staff that accommodated our group of 8. Keep it up!
Came here today for lunch and I must say I’m always skeptical when a restaurant has the word Baja in it. Usually means you’re getting a watered down rendition of Mexican food. And that is exactly what we got. No flavor, no season, no spice the Baja way apparently. I got the chicken chimichanga and It was Bland bland bland. Also got chips and salsa and the chips were stale. The service was good and the restaurant was clean but we came to eat and we will never come back again. It’s really disappointing to go to a restaurant and the food sucks.
Baja is a staple of Beacon Hill and it’s a great spot for community building. The homemade tortillas on the quesadillas are a game changer and the pomegranate margaritas were deliciosas.
LolBoooThe lengua was a jokeThe prices where too high for the qualityPlenty of authentic Mexican spots around. The 5 star reviews are definitely paid for
This is one spot that feels like home. The food is amazing and the regulars there create such a great atmosphere. Margaritas on point and the staff is simply the best.
Machaca and eggs plate is legit! Have to force myself to try a different dish everytime I go in. Havent had a bad plate.
Brunch was really good. The handmade corn tortillas were exquisite and flavorful.
Wonderful cheap Mexican breakfast. Cant get much better than that combination. I have been here twice and I have gotten the chilequiles and the huevos de mexicana. Both were wonderful though I definitely like the chilequiles the best. Only complaint is they dont give you enough tortillas for the huevos. Staff are extremely nice and the inside of the cafe is very nice. I love me a good mural. They have this one hot sauce that is a strange green tealish color. Dont be put off, its delicious and spicy as hell. Love this cafe, you should go here.
Calling this Mexican food is insulting to Mexican food. Its kinda strange that with so many good Mexican places already in the neighborhood they decided to open this. The drinks were not much better than the food. The atmosphere is something in between a taco bell and a car dealership waiting room.
Im so happy they are back on Beacon Hill in their new space. Same great food and good service. The atmosphere needs a little help as far as noise level as the main dining area can be loud. If you prefer quiet, sit closer to the bar. Welcome back!
We went for dinner, service was extremely slow, the servers were inattentive and didn’t seem too happy to be there. Which… fair, no one likes working customer service. But we got stale chips, and the meat on my carne tacos looked like boiled stew meat and not at all good. Chewy and flavorless. The food was also served and we had to ask for silverware. Margaritas were good. The rice also had some crispy clumps in it? I don’t think I will ever come back. Really unpleasant overall.
I dont know where to begin... The food was terrible. Like the chef took the day off. The pork was tough & dry and also devoid of flavor. The rice tasted off (at first I thought the cotija cheese on the beans was extra funky, but it was the rice!!). All the food felt flavorless. Weve had better Mexican food at Azteca. The service, while nice people, was slow. Drinks were left empty without asking if refills were wanted. Chips and salsa, were available upon request but not offered or on the menu. No napkins. We wish El Quetzal wasnt closed tonight.
We were at Baja Bistro after a long flight. We were starving. Luckily, it was their Sunday Drag Brunch. Nemesis and her friends were great to watch! Make sure and bring $1 bills. We forgot cash, but she takes Venmo... We all had Breakfast Chilaquiles, Jalapeno Margaritas and Pacificos... The service is hit or miss depending on whos working. Luckily, our favorite (dont know his name) was there. He is always attentive, pays attention to his tables, friendly, observant, accurate and knows how to edit tables. Hes a bit older, long grey hair in a ponytail... He made the whole meal so much better.
Great ambiance and friendly service. Go for the drinks, not for the food. Food left something to be desired. Like flavor. Good corn tortillas though.
Great breakfast omelet. Nigel was a great server/bartender!
Love this place! Great food and great peeps. Mariachi night is fun!
A fairly standard Baja style Mexican restaurant and bar. The food and drinks are decent, but undistinguished. Prices are decent, but its not a great value either.
I love Oscar and the Baja Bistro crew! So happy theyve re-opened!!
Makes me so happy that this neighborhood spot is back open. The food is lovely and the service is great. You can tell that people are happy that it’s back. Support this local business.
The margaritas and energy here are immaculate. Look forward to coming back soon!!
Nice addition to the neighborhood. 4-star food but they are friendly and some of the menu items are legitimately good.
Saw the great reviews and had to check it out. Went with my husband. Great servers, comfortable seating and loved the decorations. Most importantly, food was excellent. Large amount of food for small price. We will definitely return.
Was at the bar last night. GREAT customer service!!!! Nice, male bartender. Very pleasant. Nice ambience. All around great atmosphere!I live in Belltown and plan to visit this bar again.Oh, and I met Geyser!!!! So adorable! After my visit, I called to see what VEGAN options the restaurant has. The guy who answered was VERY pleasant! The rice and beans (without cheese) are vegan. You can get vegan enchiladas with mushrooms; get the red sauce. Yum! I look forward to my next visit. This place is a breath of fresh air!
The food is terrible omg. I love Mexican food but this was an insult to Mexican cuisine. Do NOT recommend
This place is great. I arrived about 9:30 pm, and the waiter informed me when he first came to my table with chips and salsa, that there was only a half hour of service for the day, but he was glad I stopped in and would be happy to serve me the remaining time they were open. I promptly ordered a margarita which he returned with shortly and I placed my order for the Steak Ranchero. The meal came out in less than 10 minutes and he offered another margarita to which I agreed. The steak Ranchero was very good. The meat tender and flavorful, spicy with a bit of a kick, but not hot to the point where thats the only sensation brought forth. The rice was fluffy and the beans firm and tasty. The atmosphere is very casual and relaxed. I will definitely be coming back. This is a great place for good food quickly, served in pleasant surroundings by likable staff.
Had the fish tacos, very good! Still burning hot from the oil, home-made salsa and limes. Not to mention I had the best strawberry lemonade Id ever asked for. Reasonable prices, and ok atmosphere.
Food was delicious. This new location is conveniently on a busy area, and the inside is clean.
Delicious food and amazing service! Their brunch menu is a great breakfast option in the area.
Such a beautiful community and neighborhood spot. OG classic on Beacon Hill. Best waitress, so sincere and friendly.
Worst fish tacos, very chewy. The two Mexican place close by are so much better and authentic.
I prefer the chicken enchiladas with mole and didnt regret it. The portion was huge, cant complain there. I ordered extra cheese, but in hindsight it would have been fine without it. The mole great, not too thick or thin.
A favorite place. Their margaritas are legendary. And the food isnt the best-but everyone is really personable and welcoming. And I love the gay bar, and the drag show put on featuring Atasha Manila.
One of the things I miss the most is proper, tasty Mexican food and Baja Bistro served that up in spades.Homemade corn tortillas which were delicious and Puercos con Salsa Verde which was tender, melt in your mouth good.Friends brought us here for lunch and were already planning our next visit
Fantastic food. We went for breakfast and the food is authentic, fresh and great portions.
Jason the bartender is amazing coming from Hawaii I have never felt welcome as I do back home. Amazing service and phenomenal drinks. Want great drinks for a great price Jason is the one to see.
Service was fantastic, but the food I ordered was not. It looked like canned dog food and tasted about the same (I imagine...). My friends food looked much better! Id definitely go back and try something else! When I go back, Ill reevaluate my judgement and hopefully give 5 stars!
Solid diner breakfast $10 (buttermilk pancakes, bacon, eggs), lovely wait staff. Mostly Latin dishes, glad they had breakfast. Will totally come back the next time my car is in the shop next door!
I had the chicken mole. It was Sooo good. The burritos are half the size of a plate, and equilly as tasty. Relaxed atmosphere, great service, and on top of that the price is right.Cant believe I hadnt discovered it before.
Baja Bistro is a delightful little dichotomy. One part cute little Mexican-inspired brunch spot. One part gay bar. It’s such a gem here on beacon hill. Wish it didn’t close so early, though, if it were open past 10 during the week I’d be here a lot more often for late night eats.
Just OKCame for Wed night dinner with the drag.Small space.Family style and friendlySpeakers where way too loud for the small space.Food was just OK. Nothing outstanding. Before leaving I walked to the bar.Less than 20 people and no room to move around nor making conversation.I probably was expecting for too much.
Great food.VERY authentic.I am pretty critical with my Mexican food, and this place makes it just right.Everywhere else makes food filled with sauce, and it drenches your plate and food. Here, I can actually taste food, feel textures, and feel every individual ingredient without having a sauce filled mess.I recommend the Tameles. I usually have eaten tameles out of a corn husk, but I believe they make theirs with plantain leaves? I may be wrong.Either way it is great! This is the first place i have seen offer cheese enchiladas. (That are good anyway) They make it just right. As previously said, not drenched in sauce, and they even use cojita cheese. 100% in my book.Check this place out!It needs more love!
Fabulous Cadillac Margarita & eef chimichanga. The key lime cake was light and not too sweet. Excellent customer service as well.
This is a small charming place. I stopped for lunch and the food was good. Not very busy. It is affordable too. Nothing super special but a greT place to grab a bite.
Nice staff but food was mediocre at best. It says recipes passed down for generations with homemade tortillas. It was bland without much love put into the food.
My steak burrito was made with steak cooked from the previous day. It was hard and crusty.
Glad you guys are back! Food and service is high quality as always. Will be back soon!
Good portion of good food, easily accessible by taking the Link
Chili relleno is so so good.
Hours listed on the website they provide at the door are not current. The doors were locked when I arrived at 10am
Favorite near by Mexican style food joint. Great for breakfasts, dinner and they have a bar attached for all that fun stuff. Sweet place over all.
Delicious food, good prices, and great staff! We come here regularly, especially during happy hour!
Jason is an amazing bartender and an amazing person. Music is great & drinks are strong. Come and have an amazing time.
The food was fine. I went for breakfast. The place wasn’t busy by any means, but I had a very long wait between ordering and receiving the food.
A great place for a quick bite, friendly service, and strong drinks! Happy hour 3-6 everyday with $2 tacos!
The vibe, the people, the food the drinks! Everything is awesome! Just wish they would apply for a permit to use half the side walk since the bar is small.
The food is great! One of the few Mexican breakfast spots in the city. And the bar is second to none.
Cute little Mexican breakfast joint. Service was a little slow but wasn’t in a rush. Big coffees and good food.
It was terrible! My chimichanga had mozzarella and marinara sauce on it. The sauce on the fish tacos was thousand island dressing. I will NEVER go back.
We go at least once a week. They are really nice and the prices are reasonable. It is a small place, it big in good food.
Super good happy hour and their fish tacos are actually some of the best ive had in washington, especially for the price!
The smallest gay bar in Seattle! Friendly bar tender and strong drinks. Food is good too. Try the Verde!
Wonderful time. Thanks, Kaio!
Authentic Mexican food full of flavor! Really good portions. I really enjoyed the breakfast burrito
Friendly staff and patrons, drag shows on Wednesdays in the bar, strong drinks, great food. Also the only gay bar on Beacon Hill
Its a cozy neighborhood bar, with a lot of regulars. I have never tried the food, but it looked terrific.
Great local family restaurant on one side, neighborhood gay bar on the other side. What’s not to love? Oh, and the mole... to die for!
SO much fun in a tiny little space. The best in neighborhood joint. The little bar is often standing room only.
The food is great, everyone that works here has been nothing but friendly, and Wednesday night drag show!!!
It’s a fun Mexican place on beacon hill. The food was a little bland, but overall had a good experience.
A low-key place to relax and have classic american mexican restaurant food. the connected bar is fun and welcoming!
VERY small. Really sweet hole in the wall that offers decent food and drinks. Nice for something local and openminded
Love Jason. Plain and simple. You don’t wanna get your drinks from no one else
Great food, everyones really friendly and the prices are good! What more could you want?

Holy yum! Homemade tortillas and delicious fillings. Seriously delicious affordable bite!
Wonderful service. Great value. Always fun. A good place to hang out on a weekend.
The server was helpful and efficient. Food was on par and margaritas are to die for!!!! I will be back soon!
Great drinks, food, and service. Mole and margaritas are always great!
Quality Mexican food and fantastic service with plate sizes that are large but not absurdly so.
Huge Margaritas. Home comfort food. Good Chilaquiles, my favorite!!!
Not a destination restaurant but worthy of going to if you are in the area. A bit odd which adds to the charm.
Bare bones space, high prices even at happy hour, salsa was Nasty. Server was friendly
Great service! Michael was amazing
