Absolutely lovely. Its like a second home for many goths, including myself. Great music, staff, and venue setup. Bartenders are fantastic and never disappoint. Security is better than any other club Ive ever attended. Everyone here really cares about this club, and it truly shows. I couldnt ask for anything better for the community.
My absolute favourite place to let go and dance. Spacious, moody lighting, clean dance floor, sick loud beats, strong drinks and clean bathrooms. No food except some snacks. I’ve been a member for a couple years. It’s worth the drive from Tacoma— this place is my second home. Dress code applies and you must be guested in by a member if you are not one yourself. Cash only, so bring plenty to tip your staff (who are all volunteers) and your DJ!
YOU MUST HAVE A MEMBERSHIP OR BE GUESTED IN BY A MEMBER. You must follow the dress code. The Merc is fantastic. Great place for a drink, pool, dancing and music. The bouncers are good at keeping creeps out, and I love the music and dance floor. If you like goths and industrial style music, definitely check this place out.
Lifetime member and I cant say there is any club better in the greater Seattle area. Especially if you like the goth scene and heavy drinks. Very safe environment. Go enjoy yourself!
This is a private club for members, and their guests only, so in order to get in you need to know a member, or be a member. There are strict rules upon entering which I am grateful for because its one of the best places to drink and dance unaffected by sloppy drunks and messy dance floors. The dress code is simple, the drinks are STRONG and cheap so be careful. The people and the vibe is super weird which is wonderful! My only complaint is that the music is generally Darkwave, or industrial, and not metal. Which is funny, because this club comes up first when you search for metal clubs Seattle.Overall great vibes, people, and drinks, but not the music Im into.
Paid money in advance to be here, was barred at the door because my pants werent dark enough. People in way lighter pants than me were already inside, and were let in after me. When my friends that I flew sixteen hours to meet up with had to meet me outside and they were all complaining that I wasnt let inside, the little pick-me at the door decided to make it about her and started screaming at me for attacking her and had me thrown off the property.Imagine yelling at another adult over what they are allowed to wear and thinking that youre doing anything of value in the world. I definitely believe the other reviews that say they dont have a lot of patrons. Its very easy to see why! What an absolute joke. Place looks run down and its definitely poorly managed. Go elsewhere, where you dont have some cranky someone with still mad they got picked last in dodgeball energy screeching at you over what youre wearing.
In town for a large music festival. The festival pre-party being held at this venue. They have a dress code.Special event pre-party mid week. Many people attended in non dress code attire. The woman at the door made a big scene about denying entry to a young well dressed man who’s jeans just didn’t look black enough for her.she went on to loudly berate him in front of many people.I turned around and walked away at that point. She had already allowed many people in light blue jeans and torn clothes and sneakers in to this special event pre party.I will never patronize this poor excuse for an establishment.
One of the longest standing goth clubs in the country. Members only keeps things exclusive. Been many years, but some of my fondest memories were made here.
As always whenever we visit Seattle we go to the Mercury. Most excellent DJs and staff. Awesome dark hang.
Members only and very strict on the rules and thts why its a great place that feels safe and fun.
I enjoyed my time here! It can seem a little confusing at first to understand how to attend. Members only nights are Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, and for those you’ll need to message the club on Facebook ahead of time to attend. Every other night, as long as you follow the dress code (really simple: no blue jeans, khakis, or sports attire) you’ll get in no problem.Everyone working here is a volunteer!
This is a club for members and their guests. My favorite place in town for dancing to the darker side of electro, goth, industrial. Dress up or casual but be mindful of the dress code. They have periodic membership drives so if youre new to Seattle and dont know a member watch their socials for your opportunity. Cover and drink prices are the best so make sure you tip appreciatively. In general, photography is not encouraged here, you might be 86 if you dont get permission from your subject/s.
Im not sure why Google is asking me about the food here; this is a private nightclub, not a restaurant. As a private club, on members nights, youll need to be a member or be guested in by a member. Members nights are (currently) Tuesday, Friday and Saturday. The drinks are cheap and the drinks are tasty. All the staff--the door, security, bartenders, DJs--are volunteers and only make tips, so be sure to tip generously. Your tips support the club and its staff so the Merc can continue being the place we all enjoy.
Like walking into a club from Vampire the Masquerade. Wonderful, kind hearted staff and generously poured drinks. Members only, but guests can get on the lists on Tuesday and Thursday. Lighting and decor really adds to the ambiance. Nice and dimly lit, so its easy on us vampires/night creatures. 😏
Dress code is no blue jeans, sports wear, and khakis. We were really looking forward to visiting them on our honeymoon but apparently this place is into gatekeeping. So yeah if you dont dress the part dont expect to get in. Thanks for nothing.
The premiere members only Gothic Industrial night club in Seattle.
Embarrassing. Its an extra small venue that can barely get anyone in the door. The music is 15 years out of date. Stepping into this club is like going back in time to a failed goth industrial night that was trying to compete with a better, more established one. Its like a bunch of nerds who had never been to a goth club tried to make one. Spirit Halloween is gother than this place. Not to even mention the horrible rumors about the place. Put simply, most people think its unsafe. Avoid, avoid.
Hands down the best goth club in the country as far as Im concerned. 7 days a week, dedicated. Different genres each night. Members only on the weekends. Keeps the Beckys and Chads at bay.New comers who have an active interest in the music/goth club community are always welcomed. Just contact the promoter for the specific night youd like to attend if you dont have a friend whos a member.Great drinks, killer prices. Volunteer run, so TIP WELL.Strict etiquette code, including no photography of other attendees enforced. Which I absolutely love.No jeans/khakis, ever. If this is a problem for you why are you here? Go to literally any other club in the city 🤷Theres no food served here so no clue what THAT reviewer is talking about? This is the type of place you go to with a local whos a regular. Not intended for scene tourists or randos. Again, go to literally any other club.
Having a membership here is basically the indicator of whether you are a goth in Seattle.
Full on goth bar, so members and guests of members only. Rules are enforced and if your not gonna dress the part, then please dont come. That being said cool vibes and chill people.
The Mercury Is a private goth club. It does not serve food but the drink menue is great.
No food avalable. Good strong drinks. Fun music
Nice private venue, well priced strong drinks, cash only. It is a little cliquey though, its advised that you make at least one friend right away, someone whos not too popular (because that might not be the person you want to know, FYI). There are some slow nights, but theyre not an accurate representation of the clubs event nights (some nights simply clash with other events.) Do not rely on event pages to get answers; contact the promoters directly, or Mike Gray who is the Manager. The staff is definitely close like family, from what Ive observed. It takes a while to make friends here unless youre a social butterfly- There are strict rules here about respecting others space, and it provides a safe environment. Please do not hesitate to report any foul play to Security or the management, this way we can all help the club maintain its high standards.
The best thing about this place is that the music is pretty good. Cash only private club. Standard bar prices and above-average door entrance fee for a club that has less than 20 people on a Saturday night. If youre there to dance, youll have no problem finding space on the dance floor. Have a question? Oh well. No phone number, no email, no way to message them on Facebook & no one responds to questions posted on the event page.
Spooky goth/ Synthpop/ dark techno club has been around since the beginning of time it seems. Check it out sometime (must be a member or a guest of one).
Goth club with themed nights and strong drinks. Its a great place with a friendly, albeit dark, atmosphere. Theres a nice sized dance floor, two bars, and a back room with pool that is a bit quieter.Cash only!Everyone here is volunteer so make sure to tip well.
I love this place! My friends and I make the trip up from Olympia because its the best goth bar for miles around. They have some great events, and weve found people easy to talk to. Keep an eye out for the membership drives once or twice a year on their Facebook page - pretty much impossible to get a membership if you live outside of the city otherwise.
Been a member since 1997 at its previous location. I love both. It is largely one of the safest clubs in town precisely because it is private and geared not only for the dark music scene but towards those who do not fear diversity. In fact the only freak flag not tolerated is violence and sexual non consensual aggression. Clothing is optional. ;) Alas the club may be due to get more millennial DJs in the booth.
This place is like my second home. I have never felt more welcome and accepted in an establishment. The drinks are great, the music is fun to dance to (if you like goth music), and the people are wonderful.
This is THE Seattle goth club. They really enforce the no bluejeans rule, though. So be warned.Great music, and a wide open dance floor with perfect lighting. The music is consistently exactly what I need to hear. The drinks are cheap and strong. I recommend their signature mix drinks. The staff is friendly and they maintain an atmosphere of respect and good behavior.
Ive been a member here for years, and its my home away from home when Im on cap hill. I miss the brief, heavenly interlude when they allowed smoking pot indoors on certain nights (this lasted for a short time immediately following legalization here in WA; weed was no longer illegal but hadnt been subject to the precise level of legal circumscription and delineation that took hold as loopholes were closed and restrictions were defined); being a smoker of herbs and a dry alcoholic, that made my nights there more relaxed, even if the dancing was slightly less energetic.
Unfortunately, we were unable to get in on Saturday due to being members only. The only way in is to message a promoter or be invited by a member. Coming from Los Angeles it was a bummer. call ahead and see if it’s a non member night to avoid the frustration.
Best place to go if youre part of the goth scene in any way, even casually. Good music and people are friendly and watch out for each other. Members only on Friday, Saturday, and Tuesday
The Mercury has been a part of my life every since I used to come and visit Seattle, when I was living in Reno and I have always loved coming here. It is a private club and there are all sorts of perks because of that fact--I have even had art shows here, love the spirit and the goth and industrial sensibilities--remember that the staff is volunteer--so remember to leave a good tip!
One of my favorite dancing places.Feels like a second home where I can be my self and dance my heart out.I have made many friends over the years.Great creativity for events.Keep it up.
I always feel right at home with all the weirdos and the drinks are strong and cheap! I love the atmosphere and the music is always so good!
Loved this place. I was invited as a guest and I had a wonderful time. Friendly staff, cool atmosphere, and the music was delectable. 10/10 would go again.
The worst club in seattle. The most rude people youll meet. Openly racist as well
Semi-private goth club. Bartenders are volunteering, and prices are great, so tip even if all they do is pop a bottle cap.
Wouldnt let one of our group in because he was wearing denim. While this is a club rule, it was part of a Halloween costume and was not posted on their costume party site, bad experience.
Best goth club in town. Members and guests only, and no jeans or sportswear, because it is a spooky club
Lame bar with very discriminatory management, and this is not in reference to their dress code. Really didnt expect that from a goth bar. Avoid.
Fantastic staff, fantastic atmosphere. Love how the dress code is enforced as well
If you are looking for a goth bar this is it. Try checking out the facebook page for open nights, otherwise you will need a member to sign you in.
Safe space to be you, however weird. Members only and their guests except for rare nights
Wouldn’t let me in because I had jeans on….. didn’t look very “goth” in there either… 😂😭
Great events and great staff. The best little goth club in Seattle!
Great goth club if your into that scene, good music and the people there are awesome.
Love this place! Private club! Must be guested in by a member on Members Only nights.
Still my favorite club in Seattle, and likely always will be. Member since the year they opened.
Excellent Goth/Industrial/Alternative club. Membership required. 21+,
Many fun nights of dancing and Ollie is the bestest bartender!
I love this place! The people are always nice and the music is great!
One of the most comfortable clubs Ive visited.
Excellent private club: The drinks are stiff and the music is everything I want at a club.
Great place 😃
Underground tech and house music, what could be better?
Scary goth dive, beware. They hardly ever play ABBA.
Love the merc come out every weekend
I love that there is lots of seating!
🖤🖤🖤
Best stompy club Seattle has to offer
Cigar social war the best!
Fun!
The worst club in Seattle
Support your local Bat Cave.
Every day is Halloween
Goth community club center in Seattle
Yeah!
Favorite place to go
Best music
Spookiest of spooky..
Not what it use to be. 👎
Definitely Love how its Membership/Members Only. No pictures inside! Only yourself and if you want others in your pics, you have to ask. Even if they are in the background. No creepy people hitting on you or getting all touchy feely. They do not have food. Many drinks! All staff is paid with tips. & all staff is volunteers. All DJs play best music! Had a coat check. Seen different artists work in the hall. With different themes to make it even more fun! Thank You to all at The Mercury! 🖤💀🥀
