Mill Cue Club

This has to be the worst experience I have had at a bar in Tempe. Got in on a Saturday night, was fairly empty which shouldve been a giveaway. Sat down, ordered a few drinks at the bar. The bartender got us 3 of our 5 drinks and went ahead with chatting up another group for a tip I suppose. When we asked for our other drinks she told us that she already gave us the drinks and she isnt having it. When we told her that she didnt she told us to f off and talk to security. Went to talk to a security guy who just replied that if the bartender says that you guys got the drinks, you had them. His manager came up and our argument went on for a good 15 minutes, it wasnt about the drinks at that point, we wanted the bartender to apologise to us because she was extremely rude and did racially profile us. Then we we prompted the manager to check the security footage,she miraculously she found the 2 glasses on her side of the bar. She refused to apologise we had our drinks and got out as soon as possible. Guys please stay way from here, plenty of better bars at mill Ave.

This place is a staple of Mill ave. I have been coming here for over 2 years. Cheap drinks with pool, what’s better than that? Make sure to try the trash can and any of the well drinks.

A guy who only plays pool: Bartender was rude not sweet and did not drink and the doorman Anthony may be a part of Antifa due to his profiling against white people. They should not be rude and nasty and should be fired.

Got there a bit early on a Thursday. Cant speak of the nightlife but the accommodations were comfortable, clean and wide open. Plenty of tables, so certainly worth a look if you want to chalk up your stick.

Your phone number listed is out of service!! The price of pool per hour changes from one night to another and I wanted to call and ask how much tonight is.... Friendly staff, good music, and unlimited pool for $6. If only the pool tables were better taken care of and not so filthy.

Great place! Ive been coming here since I was 21 and it was always a great place to come on 4/7/2018. So, for my wifes Birthday we came here and I guess returning a drink to the bar set off the night manager. She came to our group to ask why we yelled at her server. I was surprised as well as the server for her to make that assumption. I respectfully told her we didnt yell or show any anger. We just return a drink because it wasnt what we ordered. She was raging and said the drink that I want only look different because it was missing food coloring. But it was the drink I ordered. I beg to differ and she threatened to kick us out. Mind we already paid $100 in drinks and were playing pool. As long as the night manager is there I wouldnt recommend this place. We left with disappoint to Fat Tuesdays. Spent more $$$ there with decent service.

Best place for pool, good drinks and great music

Great small bar if you can handle some smaller crowds. Easy to order drinks but those are expensive. Pool table are better quality than most but had some stains and wear and tear. If prices were posted Id bump to 5 stars. Terrible music remixes I tuned it out but golly they need to hire a new guy or chill on the remixes.

We come in pretty often and it has been great every time. Security up front is awesome, and never aggressive. They have rotating daily drink specials, and good cheap rates for pool. Even on the busiest of weekend nights, they run things very efficiently and are great at keeping the line moving. I love the laid back, fun atmosphere. Everyone in here is in a good mood, having fun, sharing a beer! Great spot that I hope stays on mill for a long time.

The bouncer Sam is a real cool dude awesome atmosphere over 10 pool tables in the hall.

Visiting my sister from out of state and came here to get a drink last night. Went in to greet the bartender and she was super sweet when she said I had to have my ID checked by security because it’s an out of state. Once security got it however they had to go on this power trip talking about “I know what I’m doing” Sir if you knew what you were doing I wouldn’t have had to call the police to get my VALID ID back! We took our business elsewhere very disappointed. GET AN ID SCANNER!!

The major reason why I rated it a 5 star is due to the kindness and courtesy of the member of staff. I dont consume alcoholic drinks, and when the staff on duty realized, he offered to give me unlimited supply of non-alcoholic drinks for free hahaha. Although I was to shy to accept the offer 😅Overall, a fin place to be if you like to play games, drinks and listen to loud music. Also quite safe .

Packed pool hall and bar in Old Town Tempe on a stretch of Mill Avenue that hasnt been absorbed yet by Arizona State University. That being said, the clientele is almost entirely between the ages of 21 and 30. The whole vibe here caters to that so plan accordingly.Tables themselves are in decent condition as are the house cues. Dont be surprised if you have to wait for a table. On the plus side you can wait with a cocktail. On the downside prices here are higher than at simpler places further away from campus. Staff is courteous but you can tell theyre used to dealing with problematic patrons.I consider this more of a social pool hall rather than a place for shooters and serious play. That was my assessment when it opened about 30 years ago and my recent visits havent changed my opinion. If you fit the demographic and want to have a fun evening with friends this is probably a great place. If you want to play some pool or pick up some games against somebody you should probably just go to Kolbes.

A cool pool bar that has surprisingly nice tables and equipment. Reasonable price for pool, but the drinks are a tad high. Nice music selection

Bring your own cue stick, chalk, and felt for the tables. Or at least a brush. Or if your really really like playing pool go elsewhere. Not the best tables, terrible cue sticks, tables are close to walls. Trevor? or Travis? making the drinks for this place 3 stars. Good drinks. Great service. May not be back with other better pool halls in the area.

Excellent atmosphere, welcoming service, and a fun way to kill time! I adore this club since there is no strict dress code. I came here to unwind, unwind, and play some billiards after a long day at work. This is a nice spot to socialize or bring someone.

Its a really chill spot with a great environment. A lot of seating area to relaxe and kick back. But it is little overly expensive.. 25$ for a pitcher of beer 7$ per-person an hour to play pool. But ping pong is free.. Over all I would come back to this place. Oh yeah, and the service is awesome as well.

If you are someone looking for an easy-going experience I would highly recommend avoiding this location, at least during busy times. My friend and I visited on a Saturday and we waited for at least an hour for the pool tables. We understood when we came on that there would be a long wait, due to the popularity of the establishment, but I swear we were at the top of the line at one point and were skipped in favor of some of the folks who were more demanding than us. Your patience will be tested here, especially in light of the rude customers that seem to frequent this place. There were multiple times where other customers cut in front of us since there was no clear line for customers to start a que in. While I understand people cutting in front of others because they were unaware of others being in front of them these customers could clearly see there were people queued ahead of them and yet chose to take advantage of the lack of established rules. Avoid this place if you want to have an easy going time. I guarantee you, at least on a busy night, this place will frustrate you.

If u are looking for a pool hall then dont come here. If you are looking to hang out in a college town in decent bar, come here. To the owners please keep up your cue sticks and tables. Soooo many unusable cue sticks, felt was dirty, cue pocket came loose causing to miss a shot.

I think this is a great pool hall. Definitely a whole mixture of crowds here. But they have decent drink prices. Plenty of tables! And I like the fact they have different size tables as well, as not every place has that option. Would definitely recommend if your looking for a night out with friends to go shoot pool!

Favorite bar on Mill! This is a great mixture of a dive bar vibe and a club vibe. The DJs are fantastic and the bartenders are great. They do not serve food, but their delicious drinks make up for it! They also allow you to bring in food from the outside if you decide that you want to eat in there. Their long islands will get you feeling great with just one! They usually have a good list Of seasonal beer on tap, which I love too. The pool tables are great-especially on nights that arent quite as busy. We love going in on Sundays to play pool, but also enjoy the busier nights. Unlike some bars, they do a great job making sure there is enough staff for busy events. You wont spend your time in line waiting for a drink, which is nice. I highly recommend stopping in to try this place out!

The pool tables are a little pricey, and I wish they had a better happy hour. Otherwise, we had a good time, and the bartenders were friendly.

I liked this place a lot. $5/hour for pool tables is the cheapest Ive seen in most places, and the tables were nice and the house cues were pretty good too. Drinks and prices were standard. There was some dude in the mens bathroom trying to hustle candy and cigarettes which was kinda off-putting; I get enough hustlers in the street why would I want one in the bar? Besides that, it everything else was good and I look forward to coming back some time.

Nice place to play pool and hang out with friends. Mainly college age crowd. We were hanging out with our kids and we had a great time.

Discriminated against me for my service dog. I have a disability my service dog was wearing her vest and I can only assume that the employee who told me to get out was the “manager” (who was drinking at the bar). He said:” there’s no pets allowed”, I replied: “she isn’t a pet she’s my service dog”. To which he replied: “we have the right to refuse service to anyone” and I said “not based on disability that’s illegal.” The kind of rude discrimination that he displayed was absolutely disgusting. I loved this place but that was such an awful experience it’s taken me 2 months to write a review. I will be contacting my ADA rep and the Better Business Bureau.

Super cool place if you like pool and (lots of different) flavored long islands. The line isnt as long as other Mill bars, which is nice. The staff is very attentive and friendly as well! Hoping to be back soon:)

Terrible service, was standing in line to get a drink where several other people thought there was a line, only to find out there was a certain someone standing in front (that acknowledged there was a line behind them but didnt say anything) so I waited for a full 30 minutes only to get overlooked by 3 bartenders and theres a 6 person line forming behind me and still no acknowledgment until I decided to ask if the person in front was waiting for a drink and he/she (transgender) said no Im not, where then I said well why didnt you say something we have 6 people waiting in line thinking you were in line and he/she said thats not my fault or problem which is partly true (but then why stand there and not get out the way to mitigate the confusion) so in any case the bartenders failed to recognize the line in general (which had they acknowledged it they would have been smart enough to ask the person in front to move out the way to reduce confusion.) So then as a paying customer, I confronted the bartender about the service and how us 6 people in line were waiting for so long only to have the bartender say to me do you need security to escort you out? & I responded not at all weve been waiting here for so long and Im just expressing my frustration while we get overlooked and you attend to other customers. I went off and asked for my bill & I turned around & to me defense I had everyone in line agree with what I did. The awareness desperately needs improvement.

Drinks are good with the night life. Came here with some family to kick off bar hopping. Staff was nice and the atmosphere was comfortable. But you gotta find your spot in the bar quick because it gets packed fast!

Just went here to pick up my ID. It was dark but the doors were unlocked so I went inside. I was greeted by an EXTREMELY RUDE employee who promptly put me out of the bar because they didn’t open for another 30 mins. I told her I’d come back but politely asked if she could at least check to see if my ID was in fact there. She declined as she pushed me out and locked the door complaining that she had a lot to do.I went back in my car and waited 30 mins. When I came back she already had my ID in hand. Idk what was so hard about taking 30 seconds to give my ID to me the first time I came in (maybe her ego).. especially considering THE DOOR WAS OPEN and there were no hours of business displayed outside. I assumed she was having a bad day so I didn’t make a stink about it but I hope this isn’t the way they treat all of their customers.She wasn’t even cute. The other bartender is much more attractive and more polite.

Great little hang out. Cannot find cheaper pool rates anywhere. It gets a bit crazy on the weekends when school is in session but perfect during the summer months for all the AZ locals. I would recommend checking out this place if you are looking for cheap happy hour drinks and a place to shoot pool.

What can I say?! Its a good place for some pool and various inexpensive long islands. Just like the rest of mill it has a different vibe before 7pm. If youd like to go with some work mates after work its nice, chill, and relax. But if you wanna go when mill is alive on the weekends, it is also just as popular to be as the other bars! Great place, lots of locals. And of course, great place on Mill to play Billiards!

Fun place. It was early in the day when we got there so there was plenty of seating but might be standing room only on a busy night with their limited seating areas. Great place for some pool and hanging out by the bar.

One of my favorite places to play pool and have a drink. Of course it is a college atmosphere, but the music is good and the prices are decent when you split it with a friend. Make sure you show up early because it does get packed.

My go to place for a night on Mill. While it doesnt have the booming music dance floor as you might find at other bars its an excellent place to start if thats where you want to end up later in the night. Bartenders are friendly and dont usually find myself waiting long to get a drink. The drinks prices are comparable with most other bars on Mill but they well exceed other bars in the options and quality of the drinks. The pool tables offer a fun activity and even on busy weekends they have a great system to get you at one. Been a resident of Tempe and been going to Mill for 3/4 years at this point and of all the bars that have come and gone Cue Club has stuck around. Id like to think its because theyre doing it right. Good on you guys.

Couple of friends and I came here for a chill night. Service was great. Tables were clean and well kept for pool. Only negative to point out was the bathrooms were fairly dirty. The dude sitting on a stool with his headphones in the bathroom had quite the mess around him. Otherwise fun place!

Best drink prices I have come across on Mill Ave. $5-$6 Long Islands the weekend I went, with top shelf available for $10-$11, generously poured I might add. I felt they werent trying to bait with a low price and not deliver, they delivered. Played some pool there another night, very chill, no doubt Ill be back.

Much more fun than the name sounds, great drinks, great music, lots of hot chicks and even got in a game of pool. Only bad thing is it gets ridiculously crowded FAST. The night my buddy and I went it was about half full, 10 minutes after we got in there was litterally no elbow room. 😅

Great place, good prices, good atmosphere. Multiple pool tables that you pay for by the hour. On Saturday night I waited for about 30 minutes for a table, played for about 2 hours and the price was very competitive.My girl ordered a margarita with salt and I was pleasantly surprised that it was made from scratch and not served from a prebatch.

Always a good time if you show up when the crowds arent there. Pretty much any time before 10 is free of excessive college kids if thats not your set. Good drinks, chill staff, and a ton of tables.

This place has the best Long Island Ice Teas around and they even have some flavored Long Island options. The staff is amazing and is always doing their best to make sure everyone is having a good time. They are having their 21st Anniversary Party this month and that is something we will definitely be attending!

Went on Sunday $5hr pool tables were nice. Long Islands were on special, different variations (LA water, Raspberry etc.) in a 22oz glass.Great place for be for NFL Sundays.

Went to the mill cue today with my family visiting. The one bartender, Shannon, who was the manager was viciously rude to not only my family but other patrons as well. She spent more time complaining to everyone at the bar how over worked and tired and how she didn’t want to be there. She kicked 12 patrons out who were sober and just asking for a drink because she considered them “rude”. I was questioning why a huge pool hall was empty in a Sunday and i now know why. After waiting 25 minutes to get served with only 5 people at the bar, my brother calmly asked if he could get a water. She snapped and started yelling at him why he was so special. She wasn’t making drinks the last 25 minutes, she was complaining to the others and threatening them to say ‘one thing’ and she would kick her out. I asked her is she had help, and she started yelling at me to complain to the manager which was her and she’d kick me out. At that point I asked for my brothers ID back (because she had it so we could play pool) and she started yelling again. I told her please calm down and she kept yelling. When we returned the pool set and asked for the ID. She went off in my 64 year old father about how rude his daughter was. I am honestly taken aback at the service I received today. Shaken honestly. I will never go back to this bar ever, and will honestly tell any friends and family to stay away. Not a place for anyone to go.

Bouncer cant tell the difference from a real ID and a fake ID, he just goes off of how old he thinks you look. He tried to take my real ID but then let me in after I went and the bouncer who does know how to check if an ID is real let me into Casa. Pool tables are decent enough, bathroom is falling apart.

Over priced drinks, uneducated staff with poor training. The tables arent level and the toilets were blocked and coming out the door. The bar across the road was a way better pub. It had hot girls and a friendly bar staff. Avoid the cue club at all costs. Especially if youre a guy looking to get lucky. This venue was a BBQ. No girls what so ever!

There was a lot of people in here for a Friday night. Its a good spot to have a drink or dance with your girls. The drinks were kind of expensive but thats expected on Mill. The pool tables are a plenty and so are the bodies!

The servers were great here but everyone else. The bartenders and security here were complete a××holes. We had a security dude hawking my friend and i all night and throw us out cuz a stick fell on the ground by accident. Then they tried to refuse my friend his id back. These dudes were completely unprofessional and tried to get me, on multiple occasions, to fight with them. Constantly getting into my face and doing anything to provoke me. To hell with this place. Never going back

Unprofessional and unsafe!!I was there with my girlfriend and after a few drinks the security guard came up to me while she was in the bathroom and told me he needed to see me outside. I asked for what and he just repeated himself. So I then asked him if I could wait for my girlfriend so our belongings (purses, wallets, phones, and such) werent left unattended. He didnt want to let me wait. He was trying to get me outside with out her. As soon as she walked out of the bathroom he flagged her down, told her I was too drunk and he needed us to leave out the back door. Why the back door? We hadnt even paid our tab or collected her ID and debit card and he was already trying to usher us out. OUT THE BACK DOOR. We had already ordered water from our super nice waitress Kendall because I know my drinking limit and dont push myself. We just wanted to finish our game of pool. But the security guard had already taken our balls and put someone else at our table while we spoke to Kendall. He wouldnt even let me finish the water I had ordered before trying to again, usher us out the back door. He was trying to trick a too drunk women out the back of the bar without her way home? If I was too drunk as he said I was, why would you want me out BEHIND THE BAR without a safe way home? Seems shady and dangerous to me. Will not be going back.

The door guys are straight idiots. The music is cool drinks are cheap but the door guys are terrible. They cant tell a real or non expired ID to save their life. Ive never had a issue with any other club regarding this. This is the only place to call the cops because they cant do basic math and their eyes dont work.

Good music, however the customer service from the bar @ 8:45pm on March 9th, 2019, has been nothing but the worse... this place isn’t busy and stood at the bar for 7 minutes without any acknowledgement. Also stood waiting for a pool table, my named being called to pickup pool balls, to having had waited for 5 mins with out acknowledgment or pool balls being provided. Finally after 5 mins of waiting patiently, the bartender asks, “what can I do for you?” as if he wasn’t the guy who just looked at my ID and called my name over the loud speaker to play pool.

Horrible music and environment, didn’t even try the drinks because they looked less then avg.

While I generally do not give second chances, mill cue club has been the exception. Automatically get one star for the working and clean restroom facilities. The other three stars are for a lone employee named justice who was very kind and attentive when other employees did not care to give me a second of their time.. pool tables were a bit cramped in and had a couple of bump ins with other patrons but not a bad place.. thank you justice for being a stand up service representative. Ask for her and you will not be disappointed. Just make sure your gratuity matches her excellent behavior and service!!

Ive been coming here pretty often and I enjoy the vibe. Its a good place to chill and practice your shots (as Im still too intimidated to go to a different pool hall) (open to recommendations) Cue Club is one of my faves in Phoenix, thanks yall.

Brian Is Seriously The Best Bartender! His Drinks Are Made Well And He Even Went Out Of His Way To Make Sure He Played Our Requested Music! Drinks Are Not Expensive Here Especially On A Monday

Great place to shoot a few games of pool and enjoy one of their generously poured renditions of a long Island iced tea. Awesome location right on Mill Avenue where you can bar hop and people watch until your hearts content.

Good place to hang, drink and play pool. The only problem is Mill is super busy right now with snowbirds. Why don’t y’all leave our state?

Friday night on mill... its ok $9 to play pool with watered down and over priced drinks Im good. Vibe was chill. But not worth my time. Check it out for yourself. Playing pool seems fun but paying for it not so much.

Popular happy hours and variety of Long Islands. If youre going to shoot pool, go early (before 6pm) to take advantage of reduced $5/hr rate for tables and to avoid the crowd during club hrs (weekends, 9ish to close)

$2 too expensive for everything but the atmosphere is good, the pool is good too price is average for pool. Bartenders are pretty decent letting us sample drafts before order etc.

Id give it a 1 if it werent for the bartender when we came in. He was great and helpful. The next one after he got off kept walking by us. For quite sometime. Bar slowed down and I raised my hand to get her attention. She came over stating that is not a good way to get my attention next time, in which I replied Ive been trying to get your attention other ways but you keep walking by can I just get my check so I can leave please. In which she comes back with my check thanking me for being rude to the bar tender. For raising my hand. To pay my bill.

This place gets way too crowded on the weekends. Its so packed you cannot move an inch! They need to limit the amount of people that go into the bar to make it a more enjoyable experience.

The bouncer here is completely inconsiderate I presented a hard copy ID and a digital copy to this but obviously his are good enough to say a real ID is fake. Which what would an actual fake ID look to him. A bouncer with misjudgment characteristics should be fired.

Went to enjoy my night with my boyfriend and apparently you only have to wear a mask while playing billiards during covid. There was multiple people sitting and taking while not wearing a mask. When we addressed the bartender he stated that they only enforced wearing a mask while playing billiards. So my assumption is that they believe that you cannot catch covid while talking, but only while playing billiards.

So this is the only place that allowed me to bring Dotty inside for a private party!!! Dotty is my pet 12,000 pound triceratops. She is very intimidating because she has those three sharp horns but she is as calm as a possum playing dead. Thank you so much Mill Cue Club for providing me with a dinosaur friendly environment.

Went there thursday night, looked like there was a good amount of people there but wasnt packed. The doorman gave me two options, either pay him 20 bucks or he wasnt going to let me in. There is no cover charge to get into this bar, so I wasnt going to pay this guy. When I did not agree to pay the guy he handed my I.D. to another person. Now, this guy asked me for two forms of identification. ( which I had ) then he said I was too drunk to be let in. Dont appreciate being hustled for money. I am unsure if this bar does this for more money or if its the door people but its very dishonest. I dont think me and my friends will be there for a while until they get this straighten out. Mill ave is full of others bars at wont hustle you at the door and I prefer to do business with them.

I dont even like pool but I always manage to have fun here. They have a good cheap strong trash can drink. Also giant Jenga is always fun.

I want to write this in the right way and ask for an apology for reasonably poor English, but enough, that I will use.I moved from chicago with my wife a couple of months ago, we are used to visiting new places and having a nice time on our weekends, Im a coffee lover and a pool addict, so thats why we decided visit this place.I never had problems with my tourist visa (officially issued by THE GOVERNMENT OF THE UNITED STATES) to enter in the most fancys places of Chicago, and here I was denied SERVICE, ENTRY in an overwhelming way, They first checked my wifes ID for more than 1 minute and when they saw mine they just said: We have very strict rules about border passes.First, isnt a border pass i have visa, passport, ID student from my University. I work hard to have the opportunity to know this great country.Second, I work for bars in the city of Mexico and the least you want to do is lose a customer, Mexican, Chinese or from anywhere in the world, ITS A CUSTOMER! The reason of your business.I urge you to review the internal regulations of the place and notify the reason for the discrimination committed or place an announcement at the door stating that only American citizens will be admitted. Because I took it politely following its protocol, but tomorrow may not be someone with the same education who deny the service again.

Great for getting hammered for cheap at the start of the night. Can get crowded but otherwise still fun. Try their tequila surfboards with 3 other friends and wonder why you havent done this before.

Great place during the day, but I am not a fan after dark. The entire area in general turns from a very lax environment to a night club. Just not my scene, but this place is great for drinks and pool.

Its been awhile since I been to a good clean bar with good pool tables and good drinks...this is my new go to spot and it should be yours!

Good place to play pool by the hour. Drinks are reasonable and the atmosphere is relaxed to have a date or go with a group of co-workers.

Terrible service!! Went out with friends visiting and was told that I either had too tuck my knecklace in or I was going to be kicked out. I have had this knecklace around my kneck for 7+ years as a religious icon and have never had this problem. Bouncers are rude and I will never attend this shallow bar again

Pool tables were clean and in great shape, drinks were delicious and not over priced and the staff was all friendly. We will definitely be going back!

Good place to play pool yables are cheap but waitress are so so and the guy at the bar lost out id one time and bassically tried to blame us which made no sence we came back the next week and they found it waits usually arent to long.

Cue is my favorite place to hangout on mill. Excellent tables, superb drinks, and the best staff a mile around. 100/10 recommend.

Cool bar, gets crowded though. This club and the one next door should merge. Other than that great club, great lighting, great drinks.

Gets really crowded on weekends. Great to come chill and play some pool any other time though. Really good long islands and drink specials.

Showed up to meet with someone who didnt show up until an hour and 15 minutes later. That aside, the bar had a pretty good atmosphere.

Some of their workers are really bad. Not somewhere that I’d recommend unless you’re desperate to be at a bar.

We always go early on a weekday, tables are available, very affordable. They charge by table for the hour not by person which is why we keep going back.

They lost My I.D worst club to go to the two front guys one looking like a leprechaun started saying he was gonna call the cops cause I was yelling at him bout my I.D I know he had it on him gosh I hope they get fired now I have no Drivers license!!!Waste of time guys I will make sure to spread the word bout this club!!!
