Excellent massage! Hailea provided a wonderful experience. I appreciated her thorough communication. She was very thoughtful and careful to make sure of my comfort and the level of pressure I preferred. The front desk staff was also very courteous and efficient. They were very accommodating when I needed to reschedule my appointment. I would definitely recommend Stone School of Massage.
Ive frequented Stone School of Massage for many years and have always had a great experience with both the students and professionals. I highly recommend a 90 minute massage with pro Terese. Sooooooo relaxing.
Such a great experience from the ease of booking, the polite staff and the quiet relaxing atmosphere. I have had other massages but have now finally found my “place”. Also, Jessica is the best therapist I have ever worked with. I am so happy to have found her. Don’t think about it. Just book that massage!!
I am currently a student at Stone School of Massage in Tyler, TX. The school is a fantastic place to learn massage therapy, and I highly recommend it to anyone interested in pursuing a career in this field. One of the standout features of the school is its owner, Shonda Austin. She is knowledgeable, approachable, and genuinely cares about her students success. Her passion for massage therapy is contagious, and she creates a welcoming and supportive environment for everyone who walks through her doors.I also want to give a special shoutout to Wesley Ward, one of the instructors at the school. He is an excellent teacher who is patient, understanding, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure his students understand the material. His experience and expertise in the field of massage therapy are invaluable, and he is truly an asset to the school.Overall, the Stone School of Massage in Tyler, TX, is a top-notch institution that provides an exceptional education in massage therapy. If youre looking to pursue a career in massage, I highly recommend checking out this school.
I had the best deep tissue massage with Shonda! She applied just the right amount of pressure and would always make sure I was comfortable. A massage is a once in a while treat for me and I will definitely book with her again.
Both of us truly enjoyed our Couples Massage today. It was SUPERB!! We will be back. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!
My girlfriend got me a massage here for my birthday and I have to say it was one of the best massages I’ve had in a long time. I’ve had massages all over town and the only other place I recommend is Massage Boss which ironically is owned by the same people. The price is right, the massage is right. I don’t think I’ll go anywhere else.
I love this place. As I get older, I have trouble with scoliosis neuropathy and my massage here just makes a world of difference in my day-to-day living. Wesley is the best. It is a necessity for me to get my massage every other week and I love how I get a discount for being a repeating customer. So thankful.
Ive had both student and professional massages at SSOM. I love this place. I cant recommend them enough. Best hidden gem in Tyler!
I had an amazing experience with Halia (sorry if that was spelled wrong) she was so attentive to what I needed from my massage. Her pressure was spot on and she responded perfectly to my body language without me ever saying a word. Thank you for an amazing experience and I can’t wait for my appointment in December!
I’ve always had students who performed my massages. I have never had a problem getting a great massage at this location. The massage techniques used by therapists have always helped my body. I’d recommend getting a massage here, you will be amazed.
Absolutely love Stone School of Massage! I have been coming here for years! Everyone is always so nice and its super easy to book appointments even the day of! Thank you!
Wesley was amazing!!! 10/10 will be requesting him next time! Super relaxing and made me feel so comfortable in my skin! If you’ve never had a massage RUN and book one now!
Had a massage recently by Frank. He was great and really worked well to help give me some relief from my sciatic nerve pain. Definitely recommend!
I’ve been coming to Stone School of Massage for several years. My massage therapist listens to my “complaints “ and works hard to address them. I feel better when I leave there.
I did one of the discounted massages from a student and it was just about as good as any professional massage I’ve had! Anna did mine and she was courteous, professional, and skilled.
Only place I will go for a massage. Despite changing hands, their hands still know how to get the kinks out. Seriously go give them a try. Whether it is a student or professional, you are in good hands literally .
Stone school is a great place to get a massage. Shonda and her team do their best to accommodate and make you feel comfortable.
My 55 min massage with Terese was amazing! I feel like a new person. I wish I could visit every week!
Mrs. Stone tells the students at the beginning of the class not to bring their problems to the classroom, although she brings her horrible attitude into the class everyday. She is very judgmental and creates a stale energy. Not something I want going into a profession where people come to me to find peace. Would not recommend but to each their own. She talks bad about other students and their short comings to the classroom - Not professional or respectable at all. That is why I left and they kept my $800 down payment although I only went for a week because it took me a couple extra weeks to get up there and give them a piece of paper saying I withdrew. I know I signed a contract but seriously I live a couple hours away and couldn’t make it or guarantee that if I mailed the letter that it would be dated the day of, which they required. In these trying times they could have been more understanding, oh wait, gotta remember that I’m talking about this same woman. Seriously, I don’t see how they have been in business as long as they have...maybe just because they are the only place around and that is why I was going...I’ll be finding a more professional and friendlier atmosphere. No doubt they will still stay in business and have for many years but they won’t be getting another penny from me and I will get my license elsewhere. I will never recommend this school either. Of course, she wouldn’t even care by reading this review because she said she acts that way on purpose to weed people out which is disgusting way to be towards others. - Abbey Ortiz 😁
I’ve always had a great experience at stone school. Whether it’s the professional or the student, they always focus on your exact needs!
My favorite place to get a massage! Great prices!! I always request Frank because he is the best in my opinion!
I definitely recommend Frank! Today was my first time going to Stone Massage. (I cant think of a better way to de-stress on election day.) I was pleasantly surprised to get a same day appointment. I asked for a professional masseuse and I was fortunate to get Frank. He was amazing and knew exactly how to work on my problem areas. I recently had major orthopedic surgery and what Frank did in one session was better than 2 weeks of physical therapy (which I have now ended). I will be going back to Frank!
Always a great experience, friendly staff and therapist always take their time to make sure you leave feeling refreshed
Im currently a student at Stone School of Massage. Prior to enrolling, I read their reviews. I was a little concerned about attending this school due to some very negative comments. My aunt was previously a student there so I took the risk. I have greatly enjoyed the course and massage time!! Mrs. Stone is not the monster some make her out to be. Yes, she can be intense but only out of frustration. This is an adult education class. The test to obtain a massage license is extremely difficult, so a great deal of course material has to be covered in class. Ive been a nurse for 17 years and have never learned some of the content they teach. This is a fast paced class with no time to waste on excuses and whining. If you do the work, Mrs. Stone will do whatever possible to help you. She cannot take the licensing test for you. Once again, this is an adult education class. Dont take this course if you are not self motivated and cannot be held accountable. Nobody has the time or energy for dramatic cry babies.
Great place to get a Massage. I have had many massages over the years and will continue to get massages here and also recommend to others.
There website isn’t not great and you have to call to book an appointment/no online booking. Always fully booked have to schedule at least a week or two out. I scheduled an appointment gave them my card number because you have to pre pay for all appointment which is understandable. Come to find out when I showed up to my appointment they had written down the wrong card number so it didn’t go through and I needed to pay. I couldn’t pay for the massage at that time. I was then in formed that I still had to pay for the appointment and could not schedule any future appointment until I payed for that one. Which would mine I would have to pay for the passed appointment and the new one at the same time. My question to them is why was I not called Immediately when the card did not go through and I don’t agree that even though I didn’t not receive any services from them that I should still have to pay for a mistake they made. Last miner thing. When I walked in the place didn’t feel relaxing it felt very clinical. But I guess you get what you pay for or should I say you don’t get but you still pay for it. And I would would recommend hand and stone over in the village at Cumberland Park shopping center. Very relaxing environment, incredible friendly, very professional and well trained professional massage therapists. Maybe cost a little more but worth every penny and more. Will more then likely not be going back here do to the fact that now with having to pay for two appointments it will cost me more to go there then to go to a better place.
Wonderful and Experienced massage therapist. After trying several locations in Tyler- I’ll only go here. So professional.
My husband and I went here for several weeks, getting a couples massage every 2 weeks. We always showed up on time, always tipped and recommended the place to friends. However, the last time we had an appointment scheduled my husband became extremely sick the night before (and I stayed up all night cleaning up the mess.) I called and left a message cancelling around midnight. Paul Stone called me the next morning and was rude and unsympathetic--he tried to get me to come in anyway, and when I asked about rescheduling he didnt try to figure out a date that would work for everybody, he just snidely informed me about how far out they were booked, and the conversation went downhill from there. I could understand his position (but not his rudeness) if we were brand new clients flaking on our first appointment, but wed been good customers and likely would have kept making our 2-week appointments for as long as we lived in Tyler. Well be going elsewhere from now on.
My shoulder feels so much better after Frank worked out all the tension in my muscles!!
I’ve visited many places in my lifetime, but today I feel like I received my very first massage. When I called I requested a Deep Tissue Massage as I always feel very tense. Frank was my massage Therapist today 8/25/20. Frank asked me a few questions before we got started and the massage began. Now this was a massage! This was by far the best massage I’ve ever had! I was completely relaxed, and could feel the knots that I had being worked out. I’m hooked! I’ll return and request Frank. So glad I chose to go!
I have nothing but wonderful things to say! Courteous, great staff, wonderful massages. What more could you want?!
Prices are very reasonable compared to anywhere else in Tyler. $58 for an hour and $85 for a 90min massage. Very clean. Whitney was amazing, she really worked out my knots in my shoulder and so relaxing.
The individuals that work here are very kind and helpful. I am actually planning on enrolling in their school, and I am really excited and looking forward to it!
In this review, I will be discussing the ups and downs from my own experience here. First, why I chose this place...Ive heard the name around Tyler for years, and it was recently recommended to me by a friend. I was in need of a massage, due to my lower back being knotted up.I called them, and set an appointment for the next day. It was easy and painless. I wasnt asked if I wanted a student or a professional. I was just told that it would be $48, which is the rate for the professional massage.I arrived super early because I was already in town. As I filled out the waiver, there was a diagram of the human body. You are to circle each area that you want them to focus on during your massage. I circled the lower and upper back. The young lady, Haley, Haylie, whichever, would be the one working with me today. She was extremely nice, but appeared to be a little shy. Her tone and body language led me to believe that she was a student, not a professional. My wait was only about 5 or 10 minutes, and she started the massage early, because she was available. As we walked into the private room, she asked me if there was anywhere that she wanted me to focus on, or not to focus on. I explained to her that my lower back was knotted up, and I really needed her to massage those knots out.Over the course of the next hour, she gave me a pretty good massage. It was legit, no doubt. HOWEVER, she rarely even touched me lower back. The main area that required her attention, and she completely avoided it. Due to myself not keeping up with the time, I made the mistake of assuming that she would eventually work her way down to the lower back. She massaged my upper back, feet, hands, neck, temples, shoulders, everywhere but where I needed her to.Even though she missed the target area, the rest of the massage was good. I went ahead and tipped her $12, because I try to be a nice guy. The day next, I woke up in pain; as I had been doing due to those knots. I messaged the business on their Facebook page, and explained the situation. My messaged was read on the same day, and they never responded. I wanted to talk with them, before running to the submit a review section. However, here I am, because they couldnt even get back to me..I do not recommend this place, and I will not go back. In fact, I have a lot of friends that physically active, and sometimes they ask me where they should go for massages. I will not be recommending this place to them. I will be telling them and anyone else I know to avoid it at all cost.Stone School, should you actually happen to read this, please save the whole Were sorry to hear about your bad experience with us. Please contact blah blah. If you really had cared, you would have responded to my message when I reached out to you.
The burned the lower center of my wifes back with a stone that was too hot leaving a large permanent raised scar. We did not pursue any legal action but we sat down and talked with the owners asking them to pay what our insurance would not cover for a dermatologist to try to make the scar less visible. They agreed to our terms, we shook hands and left. We have sent them the relatively small bill receipts not covered by the insurance and contacted them multiple times and they have not reimbursed us. I was starting to go there fairly regularly myself before this had happened and I really liked the massages but I am disgusted they treated us like that when we were more than reasonable with them. The massages were fine but keep in mind if you get a hot stone massage speak up immediately if you think its too warm.
I have been coming here for 10 years and I l also have given gift certificates fromhere as gifts for years! Highly recommend!
The worst unprofessional school you can attend teacher who is direct/ teacher talks bad about clients allowed students to bullie other like me and other students make fun of people with disabilities I lasted one month is class I try to come back and she refuse to continue her teaching after being payed on top she made rascist comments and dropped me off my online classes. She kept accusing of sexual assault constantly when it a massage school to learn. She gave us short time for quizzes like 20 minutes rest time was to talk about actual clients who attend now she talk about stopping people from getting license and reporting them. And she laugh about how everyone is her hater well now we know why she abuse of her students and Allowed couples to touch each other in class very unprofessional of a Owner of business not only that allowed disrespect and employees touch students and them to work sick with skin issues just horrible place I give it a 0 waste of money and time
Teresa was amazing. Exactly what I needed.I am adding her to my self care collection.
Wonderful experience and exactly what I was looking for with pressure to help get the knots out of my shoulders.
Excellent massage today by Terese! She is definitely worth a repeat visit!
Ive been here several times & will now be my go to place. The prices are great, the staff is sweet & kind, the massages are relaxing. The extras you can add onto your massage are also a nice touch.
I am so excited for the new owner of Stone School of Massage! This is such an exciting adventure!
Taylor is the best I have ever had and I have been there multiple times. It is almost like she reads my mind! She is by far my favorite and the only one I will schedule with! Taylor you rock girl!!
Always love this place and now it’s great because you can book online and they text reminders.
Thip was amazing! My husband and I went in today for a couples massage and we left feeling like a million bucks! He had Taylor and I had Thip! Both are awesome! Thip thank you so much, youre so sweet and made me feel amazing!!!!!! Youre the best!!!!!
Ive had many good and a few great massages here. The experience for the students who have come this far in the program is valuable and allows me to get a massage at a great price. Thats a Win Win! I wont go anywhere else.
Have been several times over the years and have never been disappointed. Highly recommend!
Wesley was very professional and the one hour massage was top notch!
I’ve had many great massages here. The least great massage here was better than most I have paid more for at fancier spas. The price is great. I only wish it was easier to get an appointment.
Halia did a fantastic job!
I disagree with the negative comments that have been posted on various sites about Stone School of Massage. I would highly recommend this school to anybody who wants to study massage therapy. I would also recommend this business if you want to receive an incredible massage. I was a student there, and I wanted to wait until I completed the whole process so that I could write a complete and informed review. I went to school for a year and was taught by Ms. Abby, and completed the internship working with Mr. Stone. I have personally witnessed the way they try to accommodate all of their customers and the lengths they will go to so that every customer is taken care of. If there was an instance where a customer was asked not to return, I have to believe that every effort was made to accommodate them first. Additionally, name calling over the internet by an adult makes me question the validity of the negative review. As a business owner, you have to draw the line somewhere. From my experience, Mr. Stone was nothing but professional and made it his business to be as clear as possible when relaying any information. As for Ms. Abby, she is one of the best teachers I have ever had. She does have strict rules, but for every rule there is a reason it was made. For this type of education, she has to keep strict rules to ensure the safety of all her students and give them the education they deserve and paid for. This is also an adult education class which means students are expected to conduct themselves as responsible adults. If you want to get into this field and plan on doing the bare minimum while having everything handed to you, don’t waste your time or money. This is one of the best classes I have ever taken, but this class is not easy. It requires hard work, and you have to be dedicated to doing the work if you want to succeed. She is not going to show you how to just rub lotion on someone and have you memorize some definitions. She is going to teach you how the body works so that you can give a massage that can make a difference in someone’s life, as well as prepare you for the business side of this career. Ms. Abby will go above and beyond to help any student, and she genuinely cares about everyone’s success. However, the bottom line is you will get out of this class whatever you put into it.
Ive always had a pleasant experience here. I get the I want it all service. The price is reasonable and competitive for the services offered. I usually go with a friend or significant other and make a day of it as I travel from out of town.
I can’t recommend this place enough! Halia has been so helpful and knowledgeable!

This place is definitely worth getting a massage at! 👏🏻
Very easy to make and appointment. Great staff
I cannot speak highly enough about Stone School. Speaking from both a client perspective and from a student perspective, it is a 10! Love them!
As shared by another student among the reviews of this school, it is apparent the owners of this school do not know how to have an adult like and problem solving conversation.
I have never gotten a bad massage here!
Very professional and relaxing environment. Will always go back
Always a great experience. Jessica is wonderful.
I had a $35 massage from a student, that was better than massages Ive paid $75 for elsewhere, from professionals! It was amazing!! 😍
My message was terrific. Must needed after studying 📚
