We love this place everyone is kind and service is excellent! Great place to meet good people and watch the games. Bartenders are very friendly and make sure everyone was having a good time. Thank you Drew, Meghan, Ariel, Chris, and Charlie for making us always feel welcomed!

This place has a fun vibe. There is a Large outdoor area and great music. They offer pool and darts also.

Cant give it 5 stars, but definitely 4 solid stars. They had a pretty good beer selection. We had fun playing the jukebox and pool. The bartender was TOP NOTCH ... super friendly & helpful with suggestions. We were there during the day on New Years Day, so clientele were mostly OVER age 30 which was very nice. Ill go back. 😊

I enjoy Sunday night Karaoke! The DJ, Suttle is very fun and does his best to be fair with song lineup. Drew is by far my favorite bartender and is always ON TOP of things when it comes to drink orders. 10/10 will always go back.

It was fun me and my 3 friend just left we play billiard.The live band was great they play great music 🎶We dont order food because we just from mity crabs.

You won’t find a better place to drink at and socialize here in Tyler. I enjoy coming here and I always spend good money. The Heavy set, brown hair lady at the bar always seems to have a problem with minorities. She made us pay for our drinks prior to her making it (double crown apple sprite x2 $40 drinks that we always order) and just stared when asked why do I have to pay first when it’s never been an issue. She just looked with a smirk. I watched her allow other people of a different race get their drinks first then pay. I’ve had other friends say they’ve had problems with her. If you come here avoid her as a bar tender. She’s rude. The guy bartender is the best.

I found out that my daughter loves singing karaoke here. So I drove in from Lafayette Louisiana to surprise her on her birthday. She was so happily surprised when I walked up to her just minutes before she was up to stage. I was truly impressed with this lil sports bar. All the youngsters seemed so friendly and polite, they all got along, & pumped each other up as they poured their hearts out singing in front of everyone. I was very happy to see how my beautiful daughter was blessed with the surroundings of so many friends in one place.To all the Rufus staff, I personally thank you for your professionalism that I observed & encountered frim each & and every one of you.👏🏻 Kudos to you all for such a great experience.Love, mom.

Woman bartender, unsure of her name was very rude,while I was trying to place a drink order she began to have a conversation with a man behind me as if I wasnt talking or ordering. So I decided to leave probably will not be returning.

Ive only been here twice now but I had a Blast both times. The DJ is always playing a Great mix of music and the mix of people there is always just as Great. Its maybe not for everyone because its not just for one age group its a little bit of any and everybody. As a 40+ yr old thats what I like. Not all kids not all old folks!!! I dont drink when Im out but my friends never waited long for a drink considering it gets packed about 10:30pm. They have Karaoke on Fridays and still play a good mix of music in between singers so you can dance. Most of the singers there can actually sing and thats always a plus when listening to Karaoke. It almost has the feel of a piano bar just no piano lol 🤷🏻‍♀️I went with two girlfriends and left with at least 8 new friends because everyone was so cool and friendly. Ill definitely be going back to see my new friends.

Went there Friday night, gave them my card to start a tab. They immediately charged $35. I asked about that, the bartender said thats just to hold the tab....if I didnt spend that much, the money would go back on card. I said ok. When I was ready to leave, I closed out tab and my bill was $20 and change. Its now Monday, and the $35 initial charge is still showing plus the $20 and change charge. Blatant theft. On top of that, the door person has the personality of a rock. The bartenders I interacted with were rude and acted like it was a bother to serve drinks. Would not recommend!

It was a group outing and it was a decent time. We didnt stay a really long time. It would have been more fun if The dj allowed a few new people to sing other than just the regular crowd. Maybe mix it up a bit also, but they were good though.

What a fun little bar! The staff was exceptional...my cup never ran dry before one of the bartenders shot me a nod, I confirmed with a return nod a minute or 2 later one of the 2 bartenders were calling my name(this was my first time there) both remembered it all night... Was pleasantly surprised by that as i was20 30 foot away playing pool(typical bar tables decent not great, but every stick i picked up was perfectly straight, 4 throughout the evening) a very diverse croed that blended together nicely,(we played pool with a couplewe didnt know, before that night)everyone was there for s good time & a good time was had by all! We just might keep going back until we find Rufus!

Its a club style bar meaning that they wish to scan your ID and register you if you wish to drink. Kind of strange if you ask me. Drinks are average nothing special and ambiance is nothing to elaborate upon. They have a few functional dart boards and a out of service pool table. With a bit of investment and hard work this place could be similar to a slick Willies if the staff worked together and were more upbeat.

We went here for my sisters bachelorette party and had a blast. My only complaint is one guy kept bumping his music on the jukebox above ours, even though we paid to play music too, but the experience as a whole was pleasant. The male bartender needs to either have more training or listen better. My cousin ordered a lemon drink and was given grapefruit.

I had a good time here but mostly because of the group I was with. The waitress was nice enough but it did feel a bit trashy overall - both people and the establishment itself. Tables and menus were sticky and obviously a little old. But they had a fun environment and the patio area is cool too.

If you are ok with paying $8 for a plain Jane we’ll drink or almost $5 for a beer...this is the place for you. A few pool tables or this place would be completely useless. Bartenders are decent. No food. More or less 20-35 year olds...but the youngsters show up around 10 pm...I guess they sneak out of the house. My wife and I are 50-ish and don’t feel super comfortable here. Likely won’t be back.

Pool tables are good enough but not where I would go to play a tournament. Awesome sports atmosphere if your going to watch a big game. Bartenders are good and definitely people I could be around for hours at a time. But better cues and get some diamond pool tables this place would be great.

I was drug in here by some younger friends even though I left my wallet at nearby hotel. I was surprised by the old school decor and equally surprised by the unwelcoming attitude.I used to bartend and definitely know the value of a greeting.

The inside is one of the dirtiest bars around, especially the restrooms, which stink beyond belief. A little chlorine would do them well. And preventing standing puddles of piss on the floor would be nice.Ive had many friends complain about the bartenders overcharging their tab. My advice is to only pay cash at this bar, or charge to your tab at your own risk.Tuesdays have religiously been the night to go here with cheap drinks and a good crowd. The patio is where it is at though, and is pretty good if anyone is there.

DO NOT USE YOUR CREDIT CARD! This bar puts up too an $85 hold on your card and claim after calling to find out why theres 3 charges on your card separate from your actual tab their response is that its common practice. This is not a common practice, I have been a bartender for over 25yrs and have never put a hold on someones card nor have I ever heard of this! even if you attempt to justify this it should be a posted policy as well as informing the customer the moment they hand you their card! its also apparent from all of the negative reviews this is not done to every customer! its a pick & choose practice! Horrible policy for a mediocre bar! After several days there is still money being held on my account!!

10 years ago I went I to this place the day it opened. I have so many great and not so great memories. A lot of loves created and lost. Ton of bar fights and crazy drama. Its was a place of finding friends and lifelong changes . It will be greatly missed by Tyler 2000s teens. ❤️❤️❤️

Location Location Location [but] ya gotta pay attention to the details. Bar and table tops sticky. Pool table looks like an autopsy was performed on it. Attitude is good but it takes people skills to pull it off successfully. Cant have a fat slob up there throwing attitude to 90% of the customers. Ya treat everybody like a friend! Even if ya hate em. Favorite bar in Tyler! Would have date night twice a month here. Great drinks and prices! Variety of people from different backgrounds. So its comfortable and fun for anyone!

When trying to account for someone, its a perfectly rational response to ask, Wheres X? (Rufus in this case) However, has anyone ever considered asking When is Rufus? Its easy to get obsessed with trying to pinpoint someone on a familiar three dimensional coordinate, but the fact of the matter is there are dimensions beyond our conventional understanding in which one might end up should a ripple in the fabric of the time/space continuum take them there. Call it a wormhole if you want, but nomenclature doesnt matter when youre thrust into an alternate universe tangential to the one from whence you came and are separated merely by a curtain consisting of imaginary numbers, algorithmic paradoxes and complex polar coordinate systems. Does this happen as some sort of glitch in the matrix or can one drink so much that they stumble off the conceptual frame of reference held together by a strict adherence to an understanding of time being linear?! Its frustrating. Once you settle in and accept your fate, you start to delineate between void and abyss. When is Rufus? can be answered with In the void in our aforementioned scenario, whereas Where is Rufus? can be answered with in the abyss when hes passed out in a stall in the mens restroom. You truly hope for the latter, because once you cross into the void, returning and having to come out to your friends and family as trans-dimensional makes the idea of waking up on urine soaked floor of a mens bathroom in east Texas sound like Disneyland. And whos going to believe you when you explain you were reincarnated as a quark and fell under the anti-Cubic dictatorship of Zalthor in a universe where I was finally able to have Bitcoin explained to me in a way I could not only understand it but also explain it to my future self who I kidnapped and brought back to a year before I was born so I could raise me as my father so that I could finally have someone to gift a Best Dad Ever shirt to. It seemed like the bartenders were put off every time I ordered a beer. The burger I ordered was not put together well, falling apart as soon as it was picked up. Seems like the only ones getting proper service were the ones That clearly were regulars. Save ur time and money. Dont go there.

Wheres Rufus is a perfect name if the bartenders name is Rufus. He never once asked if we needed anything, he was rude and more interested in talking to his friends at the bar. The place smelled like a dirty mop bucket and the pizza was cold. The place is a dump.

After waiting for 30 minutes on my first drink I go back to my pool table and start playing. Ive taken maybe 4 sips out of the drink and it comes up missing. I wait another 30 minutes after my pool game and get another one and boom that one comes up missing immediately after only 1 sip then I see the waitress about to throw it away! I stopped her and explained my beer is cold and full please stop. Guess what she did it a 3rd time after that. I waited for over an hour just to have my beer thrown away by staff. I guess to increse sales or something. Good small bar but they need all new staff asap. From top to bottom.

My take on this place will prolly not help most as my only reason for coming here was to watch my VIKINGS play. I arrived mid-October 15 and came every Sunday game they played and I was in town. I since moved October 18, but definitely miss this place.Appreciated they always got my game going on the TV I chose, with sound. They always got my brew selection quickly. Altho I only came during NFL season, they remembered my name the following year, and I really tried to stay under the radar.. Its like my own Cheers.I tried once on a MNF game and TNF game, mmm, no. Dance night, poker night, definitely couldnt hear my game those nights, but thats ok, went to another place and stuck to Sundays only. Rufus seemed to always have something going on whatever night of week, which is great for those looking for variety.First year, theyd great food selections. Next year, nothing, hadda bring your own food or order delivery. Next year, the boss (owner) created his own pizzas and a few other selections. Id heard he was an incredible flavourista, quite creative with his seasonings and creations. Im no fan of pizza, but when twas all they had, ordered one, GET OUTTA HERE, this was good!! Yah, he has a knack!!Sadly, this year, no more of his creations.Theyve pizza, but its Digiorno. Oh well...

Always a great place to go, relax, kickback and enjoy your time, The staff is always incredibly helpful and friendly, they drink prices are very reasonable With the open patio, tvs and fire pits it makes every game day a awesome place to go and enjoy the sports atmosphere. The owner is a Great guy and very personable, all around 5 stars.

Wheres Rufus is a great place to go for cold beers, good people and goofy times. This bar has had its ups and downs, but is still going strong. Owner Shawn Galbraith has made sure that all of us are still seen as not only customers, but family over the years. Him and his wife Sherie are stellar people. Wheres rufus has pool tables, Golden Tee, Dart League, cornhole league, shuffleboard and around 20 or more inside TVs. As well as back patio and decking with fire pits and 4-6 more large TVs. Good place to watch the game, take down some shots, or even just go havr a drink and chill. Love these guys.

Whenever my wife and I visit my parents in Tyler, we make sure to visit Wheres Rufus. We love the atmosphere, and staff. This bar hits most of my checks for a bar: Well poured drinks, cheep beer specials, great bar fare, and friendly people. This place has become our regular Tyler haunt.

Do NOT give them your debit or credit card to open a tab. They will put an extra $35 charge without reimbursing you for no reason. My tab was only $25 and once I looked at my bank statement they charged me another 35 this is not ok.

Seems like a great bar atmosphere kinda country western night club too young of a crowd for us but people there were friendly and courteous.

Friends got mimosas and immediately said they were nasty. Zero bubbly. So we asked to see the bottle. Its was apparently the cheapest screw top stuff they could find. Hardly carbonated. Mustve been open for a while. They gave us the bottle and then charged over 30 dollars for it. It was labeled as korbel on the receipt.. when asked about it they simply said. Oh thats fine never going back

I met a wonderful guy there on the 2nd day of Oct 2020 and we hit it off and still are really close friends and Ive met alot of good people there as well.The bartenders are the best just wish there was more of a good menu.

A friend and I decided to hit up Wheres Rufus last night after enjoying a nice meal at Cheddars. He now lives in Mississippi, and we both wanted him to have fun on his last night in Tyler before heading back. We walk in, and after getting carded, head to the bar. I told the short male bartender my drink of choice, and he blew me off, catering to the other patrons that walked up after we did. Someone mentioned that his name is Greg, & his attitude and customer service is way below standard.After receiving my Bud Light in a bottle, I gave him a $5, and received just $.75 in change. I explained that I gave him $5 and he said very rudely, Its $4.25. Really?! He also failed to mention that Coors were just $2 per bottle. I couldve gotten 2 beers for that price with change coming back. Wheres Rufus had a slight unpleasant smell, and the bathrooms were horrid. It was large pools of liquid on the floor from 2 of the 3 stalls. The last stall was out of order, and the paper towel dispenser was broken.After listening to the djs personal music blasting from his computer, I decided to request a popular song that would get the bored crowd on its feet. They told me we dont take requests. However, one of three djs announced that they received a slow jam request in which he played. I know one of the djs from another location and I asked him to play the song, in which he didnt. Through out the night, all they mostly played was 98% techno, with a little bit of Hip Hop/R&B. To my understanding, you need to accommodate everyones music tastes, and not just play what you as a dj want to hear. Or just play what your friend(s) want to hear. While boring the rest of the crowd to tears. Im known for dancing and I didnt so much as move a toe.My friend and I left Wheres Rufus very disappointed. We were looking for a fun night on his last night in town. If I had known this was going to be such a disappointment, we wouldve just ended it at Cheddars. Seeming as though the night life in Tyler for the younger crowd (28-30) is pretty much dead. Will we be going back? Hell no.

65 dollar hold for a 25 dollar tab. 8.50 for a pint of blood and honey is crazy. I now have to wait until the hold clears and I was told it could take upt o a week. Terrible policy to hold money that is 3 times the tab.

Its a nice bar, good drinks but as soon as you walk in you can tell the regulars run this bar. You have to become a regular inorder to enjoy yourself at this bar. Bought 2 drinks and headed for the exit lol.

Great Karaoke show and a real enthusiastic crowd. I also enjoyed playing pool with the local hustlers.

I liked the place my first visit, good atmosphere, fast service, good space to play pool and with its terrace, Toro very well, I hope to return soon.
