A very interesting place that would not draw in your polo shirt wearing crowd, but rather a group that is a little more intimidating at first glance. Once you learn to accept the bunch they learn to accept you and you will find they are decent group of people to be around, just dont let the hustlers or the biker jackets scare you off! Drinks are a little on the expensive side.
I came to Memories last weekend to see a couple bands I know. Never been there before and it has a decent little stage and floor area for lie music. I like that. The sound tech was very mediocre. Didnt bother adjusting vocal levels on the lead singer when his mic could hardly be heard over the instruments for one of the bands, and same with the lead guitar for 2 of the bands. I dont think some sound techs understand that the levels need to be adjusted as instruments are switched, and when lead parts cant be heard. Common problem. My biggest complaint was the price of drinks. At least of the one I ordered. I felt guilty being there watching a few bands not purchasing a drink from the bar, so I asked for a Crown and Coke and watched the bartender pour an already-open can of coke from under the bar into my glass (Im immediately wondering how long it has been sitting). Im not a huge bar-goer, so maybe thats normal and no big deal, so I didnt think too much of it. $8.50 for a solo cup-sized glass. $8.50 for a Crown and Coke. $8.50! Ive paid $8.00 for the same in DC a few times, which is over-priced even considering the area, but $8.50 in a small-town bar in Waldorf is just ridiculous. I walked away after paying and sipped my drink. Warm. The ice hadnt brought a chill to the room-temperature can of open Coke that was poured into my glass. 10 minutes later the drink was finally chilled enough to enjoy, but now watered-down due to the Coke/Crown-to-ice ratio in the small glass. So this $8.50 premium charge for my drink bought me a warm, previously-opened can of coke and some alcohol that I couldnt even enjoy. I chose to not purchase anymore drinks that night and dont have any intentions of returning.
Nice little bar that ROCKS. Only problem is the motorcycle gang that shows up with prison tatts on the faces and can be kinda intimidating if you dont fit with that crowd. I left early bc i felt that a few guys were hoping to rob me.
Good dive bar. Nice bartender, local music and pool tables. No food sold here.
Doesnt have food for people to eat on while drinking a drink
