Koa Foot Massage

I do not recommend this place.There is only one person that works here and it is very challenging to communicate with him. I got a foot massage and he was very rough. I usually prefer harder massages but this was just painful. I told him he was hurting me and he just kept repeating no pain, no game. After about 5-10 min of being there another woman came in who had made an appointment at the same time as me. The masseuse had clearly accidentally double booked our appointment time but didnt acknowledge his mistake. He was really rude to her. He told her to leave and just turned his back away from her while she was talking.

First and last time visiting this place. I travel and get massages. Decided to give this place a shot as it’s close to where I’m staying and I was in desperate need of neck massage. I decided to go with the 30 min massage. Let’s just say I was happy it was only 30 mins. The gentleman refused to listen to my requests with pressure or areas of concern. He kept doing the same repetitive movements. He kept rubbing on my neck and shoulders causing more pain/tension instead of release. The spa was extremely hot and did not feel comfortable. That was a waste of time and money.

Painful! Thought I would never walk on my left foot again. He kept reassuring today pain tomorrow good. He stretched the fasciae and did deep muscle work. The next morning my foot felt great, my aching back was much better. I ran not walked to book another appointment! This little shop clean and bare bones with an excellent practitioner is just what my body needs. I can meditate elsewhere 😂

This man is heavenly! This was hands down the best door and leg massage. I walked in tense and sore and I walked out renewed!! 10/10 recommend!!I will take this over the high end overpriced spas I normally frequent.Book the 60min and your feet will tank you!

I knew going in that the foot massage might be a little firm and that was perfect for me. Im on my feet a lot for work so this place being close to where I live is perfect. Its a no frills type of place and I will definitely come back in the future.

The person didnt speak much English to communicate. But it was a ,really good and strong massage. At times, it was painful that i had to alert him. This is not a place for like a relaxing, rejuvenation kinda place. You come for a massage and get one. Dont expect to be pampered. Worth the reasonable price in DC! Ill definitely go again.

Ive visited this establishment several times and generally had positive experiences, especially with their foot massages, even though they can be a bit rough at times. However, during my recent visit, I specifically requested a scalp massage. To my dismay, the therapist didnt actually massage my scalp; instead, he applied intense pressure to the lower part of my head and my shoulders. This caused me considerable discomfort, and when I tried to communicate this to the therapist, he didnt make any adjustments or address my concerns. To make matters worse, the therapist came across as rude and had limited proficiency in English.Im still experiencing discomfort from the experience, and the therapist assured me that I would feel better tomorrow. As someone who regularly receives massages, I must say that this was a unique and disappointing situation. Based on my previous visits, I can only recommend their foot massages, as this was the first time Ive encountered such an issue where the scalp massage was completely neglected.

I haven’t had a massage since Covid arrived and my body really needed some work.I got an one-hour massage, which I would describe much more as bodywork. It was deep and intense. He spent most of the time on my neck and upper back because he could feel that’s where needed the most work.There is only one therapist there which made me extra comfortable in these Covid days.Most of the massage was through the sheet with just a few minutes with oil towards the end (fine by me).I will definitely return.I couldn’t find prices online so I took a photo.

The massage was very intense but exactly what I needed. Highly recommend for anyone who wants a serious workout for your knots. This is not your typical Western spa experience, so dont go in expecting anything fancy in terms of ambiance. I came in knowing that I was going to sign up for a typical Asian massage, meaning no frills and very intense, deep tissue massage. Also, similar to reflexology experiences Ive had, theres a bit of therapeutic thumping/slapping too at times.

While visiting Washington and walking around a lot we longed for a good foot massage. We got an appointment quickly, well cleaned salon. Good start of massage. After a time I mentioned that it hurts too much. Laughter and comment: “first pain than happy”. After several situations I insisted on a lower intensity. But the massage man shook his head. Same thing happened to my son. When I payed I only wanted to pay 80$ for the two 30 minutes massages and I did not want to tip the man. He got very upset and shouted at me that I had to tip him. That was a really strange situation, I was really afraid. At the end I tipped him with 5 $ to get out of the place. Never ever again!

The BEST foot massage I received hands down! Granted, this is not a “relaxing” massage so be aware of that BEFORE booking. I called before and he said he had an opening at 4pm! I was there by 3:50 lol he took me right away. I have been dealing with what I feel is plantar fasciitis, extreme pain in my heels. The massage was definitely a little painful but I didn’t expect anything else lol my heels aren’t fully healed but they feel so much better! I’ll be going back weekly to see more results.

There is only one therapist, but he is amazing. It’s not a relaxing massage - this is serious acupressure and muscle work. It’s pricey given the facilities, but he is the real deal. Since he’s a one man shop, he may answer calls for appts and people may be walking in during your session, but he’s prompt and gets right back to you. I’m convinced he’s the only one of his kind in DC, he knows how to find your pain/trigger points and WORKS them. No pain, no gain mindset. Not for the faint of heart and definitely for people who want a therapeutic muscle centered massage.

The place can use a bit tiding up, so could the masseuse. He was a quiet man of little words but he def gets the job done. If you’re looking for a pampered massage this is NOT the place for you. If you have knots, aches, and ailments this is where you want to go. He’s pressure was firm, consistent, and solid. In some areas it was a bit uncomfortable, I was nearly wailing but I needed the pressure. I could literally hear myself snoring after rubbing the knots out. I’d recommend this place for sure, and I’d def go again for the simple fact that I feel light as a feather after. I’d recommend a soapy shower after though 🥲😩🥹

I’ve come to this place a couple times now with my partner for the 40 minute foot massage. The owner/masseuse is excellent. This place has simple, but clean interior. The massage works out your stress and aches with varying pressure points on the feet and legs. Call ahead to schedule a time. You will feel like a new person afterwards.

A small place with just the one person working when I got there. I did the one hour foot massage and my person really dug in - I usually have to ask for more pressure but this guy was intense. It was definitely one of those painful-but-good types of massages, and I had to ask for a break a few times. Overall it was a relaxing massage but it helped release some tension. Havent decided if Im too scared to go back!

Yeo is a healer, seriously. No frills, but he knows what he is doing (It’s just him, so call ahead and be patient. He can only massage one person at a time, obviously). Expect some discomfort during the massage but breathe though it, it’s worth it!! I will definitely be back. Let’s keep him in business please!!!!

I almost dont want to give a review in fear that he will be overbooked. Honestly he is the BEST at finding knots and kinks. If you are looking for ambiance, thrills or a massage to put you to sleep this aint it. But if you have pain and need deep pressure without having to even state your problem area, he will find it. LOVE him!

I arrived without an appointment and called the number as the door was locked. He answered very quickly asked how I was doing, then let me in. I got an hour long foot massage. This was the best foot massage I have ever had. He took his time to get every muscle, using sufficient pressure, and even cupped my feet at the end (with a special machine), which I had never had in a foot massage. He was very kind, quiet and knowledgeable. I would recommend him to everyone that I know.

This place is disorganized, unprofessional and borderline racist. Im a black female. My husband booked me a for massage at 10am for Valentines Day weekend. He made the booking 2 weeks in advance. The person who booked the appointment took his phone number and confirmed the booking.I show up this morning, excited for my for massage and there is one older man of Asian decent (the therapist) and a Caucasian female patron. I explain to him that I have a 10am foot massage scheduled. Without checking his books, asking my name or asking the woman for her information, he looks at me and says, do you have an appointment? I say yes. He asks, what time? I say 10am. He says. No. It must be 12pm. Youre at 12pm. I asked him to check his books and he refused. He then went on to ignore me, and started working on the other woman. There were no other employees present or able to assist me.I will never patronize this business again.

Little one two person business. The man does a pretty good job and there’s also a lady that comes in to help if he has more than one client it seems. I didn’t quite experience because I got my foot massage from the last, it was a bad massage but it wasn’t as great as what other people seem to have experienced.Called ahead and also called him at the door. One of the very best foot massages I have ever had! Ive traveled to China about 30 times and I always get a foot massage, and this is as good as the very best ones Ive had. The prices are really good for what you get.I would only say four stars only because booking a time can be a bit difficult, and he must answer the phone when he is doing a foot massage.Still, you wont find a better massage or a better price in the DC area.

I called a little before 4pm and made an appointment for a 1-hour full body and foot massage at 7pm, the same day.The owner/therapist met me at the door and directed me to one of the rooms. The place is dimly lit, clean, and calming.The session was done mainly under a sheet without lotion until the foot massage part. His touch and pressure was deep, intuitive, and attentive.He found my tension spots right away!From my experience, his technique was a combination of things — Tui Na, Deep Tissue, and a bit of Thai. I’m sure he tailors his work to the needs of his clients.I would go back here again. In fact, I scheduled another session tomorrow — the next day!

Everytime I call he says hes not available. Also when walking in he is also never available. I walked in abut 45 mins to closing and he was massaging one person. No one else was present. Asked if he had someone after that person, he then asked if I had an appointmentWhen I answered no he waved his hand away at me as to shoo me away. According to other reviews even when u make an appointment he isnt professional about it nor always honors it anyway. Very rude demeanor in person and in telephone. I would take my business elsewhere. I dont understand how this man stays open.Why open a business not ro run it or take clients. Very oddly run place. No thanks

Wow! Getting a foot massage here turned my whole day around significantly!!! Ive never had such a deep and thorough foot massage before. The shop is cute and neat and bright and the comfy chairs are great. And I like the little overhangs over the chairs that kind of help you have a quieter, more secluded personal space. I was massaged by the gentleman Yo, and he was very kind and very skilled! I felt like a different person by the end, someone very well cared for. Im going to have to make this a biweekly thing now because the prices are excellent and the service is stellar!

Hands down the best massage I have ever received. I’ve been experiencing some discomfort with my right knee- he was able to identify the problem area without me saying a word. He was very attentive and nice. He worked out the stress in my shoulders, opened my hips, and gave me a scalp/ temple massage that nearly put me to sleep. My knee feels much better as well. I’ve already scheduled my next appointment.

Really one of the best massages I’ve ever had and for a very reasonable price. I’ve been twice, once for a 60 minute foot massage, another for a full body. Both were phenomenal. He’s very quick to find problem areas he’s very good at resolving them. It can get very intense at times but I enjoy this level of focus. I’ve probably had 20 or so massages in my life (most being much more expensive than this one). I highly recommend Koa Foot Massage.

I called and was told I could come in within the next 30 mins which was awesome.I arrived and he was ready for me, I made my selection which was the 60min foot massage.It was great and greatly priced at $45.The only downside was that he stopped a couple times to answer the phone, as hes the only one there.But, the massage itself was great, I had actually fallen asleep.I would get again.

This place is small in the middle of everything. The gentleman seems to be by himself, but that was ok, didnt mind the wait, since I was late, due to parking. I got the 40 min foot massage. He hit every troublespot without me saying a word. He knew I was tired just by looking at my feet. I could feel the tightness and trouble spots as he was working. I very pleased and will return.

I’m obsessed with massages & this is unequivocally the best foot massage I’ve ever had.It’s very clean & professional. Masks worn all around & gloves. Excellent hygiene & COVID precautions. The massage is very methodical— not those ones where it feels like they are randomly tickling/ rubbing your feet. It’s the real deal!Hours are amazing.Open late. Took my partner & I both later in the evening with only one hour notice.I really feel like I want to come every week. Can’t recommend highly enough!

As was shared in a previous post, his (the owner, I assume) English is limited. I gave him + for communication because of the way he read my body. I’ve been a Personal Trainer for a decade and have had probably hundreds of massages. This was possibly the best, and for a great price.I thought I was finally recovered from my last bike crash where, among other things, I pulled the hell outta my neck (scalenes, levator...) on my right side. After working my left shoulder/neck he moved to the right and immediately honed in on the problem area. Followed it all the way up into my scalp (before my crash I didn’t realize you could strain your cranial muscles) where I’d suffered headaches for weeks after the crash.The rest of the massage was equally as impressive and intuitive. My feet feel alive again. My hips are opened up, my hamstrings and quads feel like life has been breathed back into them. I could go on and on, but suffice it to say this is a great option for your massage needs.

The man was kind and he even had me fall alseep for a second thats is until it started to feel a lil bit too rough. My total was $40 for 30 minutes and he got upset and even question my tip because I unfortunately couldnt spare anymore change. It messed up my vibe but its right down the street from me which is so convenient and thats the reason I might go back. However it also smells like a foot mixed with a garden but you start to not smell it after a while. Honestly you gotta experience it to know if youd come back for sure.

This was the best accupressure massage Ive ever had!COVID has not been great for my body. Sitting on a computer. Working from home. Today, I woke up with the worst neck pain. Even my chiropractor said I needed a deep tissue/accupressure massage. I decided to finally try this place.Im from LA and I love a good foot massage. This place is basic and clean. You come here if you want a no frills experience. This is the best massage if youre tight and need relief for specific pressure points. Its painful - in a good way. This is not a light/medium pressure massage.I got a one-hour full body massage. Mr. Koa found all my points from my head to feet. Its mostly dry but there is some oil for when he worked on my back. Also lots of stretching.I will now budget a monthly visit here. Its so great, affordable and clean.

I called at 9 am hoping to make an appointment. The owner answered. I made an appointment for 4 pm. When I arrived at 4:15, there was another gentleman waiting in the establishment but no workers. He said he had been waiting for a while. I called the establishmentss number again and explained that we had called that morning for a 4 oclock appointment. The man said that he. Could me back at 8 pm. I thought perhaps there was some language barrier so I explained it again. I also explained that his establishment was open to customers and that there were no employees out front nt. This was a dangerous situation for his business. He said he would come out but only do it ne foot massage. The other gentleman who had not bothered to try call or remedy the situation insisted that he get his foot massage. We left and my son who just wanted a foot massage for his 18th birthday after marching many miles got nothing. Very disappointing.

Great massage! Reasonable prices. The massage tables r heated, nice touch. I lift and CrossFit so i appreciated the level of pressure used. The classical music was a nice touch, sometimes the white noise makes me go to sleep, i don’t like that. Highly recommend it. And I’ll definitely be going back!

This was the foot massage I didnt know I needed. I felt like I was walking on air afterwards and I had the best sleep that night. I think the massage helped to clear certain pathways in the body. Will definitely be back soon!

So Im from L.A. - visiting for a week. Had a little down time so I decided to visit this place. First of all I am a certified massage therapist. This was THE BEST massage I have ever had. Im not evening being extra....I was so impressed....he found every pressure point...every little ache.. didnt guide him...didnt tell him about problem areas...he just found them....worth every dime. I plan on see him again before I head back to Los Angeles

Where was this place when I was pregnant?? My feet could have used the TLC, especially those last few weeks. If you need a quick relaxation stop, I highly recommend! They do more than foot massages - hand/arm, scalp, full body. And great prices compared to other massage places in the city.

I love that this is in my neighborhood! Very clean, simple, small facility. Soothing jazz covers of 80’s pop hits is a fun touch. My male therapist really knows what he’s doing. I feel like a million bucks. Great value for the money. I’ll definitely be back!

The reflexology massage is wonderful. Also try the full body, I’ve never had an acupressure massage so good. I have chronic back pain and he knows how to press exactly the right muscle to relieve the stress.

The worst service ever. I called to schedule an appointment at 5 made my way there but when I got there the man said there werent any openings until 8 pm!!!! I asked what about my appointment? He just turned and walked in the back. I just wanted a massage 💆‍♀️.

Really good compression massage! Just what I needed.Heads up- the massageue seems to not know much english. As long you keep an open mind and accommodate, hell be more than glad to cater your needs! His technique is good.I used a translation app from english to mandarin and he seemed to understand. So maybe try that when you visit.

It takes a moment of being uncomfortable to alleviate great discomfort. The special attention to troubled areas and the methods used helped not just my experience, but pain from ankle to socket-and-joint hips.Looking forward to going again soon.

This is the REAL deal. Mr Koa is a master and just knows how to fix issues. Seems its intuitive to him. As an endurance athlete Ive had hundreds of hours of serious/therapy body work to keep me moving and his ranks among the top.

Have you ever wished the massage at the pedicure place would go longer? Great service here. Very professional. Feels wonderful and definitely worth the money.

If you are looking for relief come here. I have so many chronic issues with my leg and feet due to trauma. I leave out of here feeling so good. Most recently he worked on my plantar faciistis and it feeels soo much better. I will keep coming here as long as I can. Take all my money Koa.
