Had a 50th birthday here tonight and I seriously cannot begin to say how amazing the owner, his wife and the staff were! Everyone was overly accommodating and went above and beyond to help with everything from set up to take down. Our hostess took the extra time to make all the details happen, she was so kind and quick to jump right in. They even cut up all the fruit we brought and arranged them on the platters to spell out 50. (within 2 hours)I have hosted quite a few parties and this event turned out great. Will definitely be back!!
Dont believe the negative reviews! CJs Upper Deck is one of those places you can come to and, put simply, enjoy yourself. The owner is friendly and engaing...the staff have always been pleasant and attentive, and the FOOD?? Top notch. Period. Steak made my top (3) list (as of 2023)...and everything else Ive had has been delicious.Pro tip: get your adult beverages made by Collin...you wont regret it 😉 😉😉
Chance find, but what a pleasant surprise. The atmosphere was awesome, food was prepared well and served timely. The owner took the time to walk around and talk with the customers. So good came back the next day to close out the weekend.
Dont believe the negative reviews!! I have been here different days of the week, different times of the day, and have only received exceptional service. There hasnt been any racism any of the times that I have been here. The new owner is really friendly. He comes to speak to his customers and see how everything is. Collin, the bartender, is so friendly, provides excellent customer service, and makes great drinks! I finally tried their pizza and fell in love. I had the chicken pesto. The crust is so fresh and perfect. Weve also had the Meat Lovers, that was great! Ribeye is phenomenal! Pulled pork sliders are so good. And I really liked the bang bang shrimp. If they have it again, give the pizza soup a try. Its really good. There are so many more things we want to come back and try. The menu has been revamped, and I can tell the difference. I love the new menu!
My family and I went to CJs tonight for dinner, our first experience there. The service left something to be desired. The menu states soup or salad with dinner meals and a $2 up charge for Cesar salad. We were charged full price plus $1 for soup since it wasn’t the soup of the day, which was never told to us and it’s not written in the menu that way. We were charged full price for the Cesar salad instead of the $2 up charge. My son ordered Mac and cheese and fries. The waitress never brought fries and when I asked her about them she said “they weren’t included in his meal” she never asked us if we wanted to pay extra for them, she just decided he didn’t need them I suppose. My husband ordered his burger medium rare and it was cooked well done. The waitress told us she had brought up the menu issue to the owner and no one came over apologized or talked to us about anything. I had to track our waitress down after waiting 20 minutes for boxes and our bill. Over all we had a very poor disappointing experience tonight.
Great Place! The service was super friendly and helpful 🙂 Maybe the Best Sweet Potato fries EVER! No joke. I had a Spiked Pink Lemonade, our Server suggested for me, and I loved it!💕 The California Wrap, and CJs wrap 🌯 were both delicious. Definitely the kind of menu where everyone can find something they would like. Cant wait to go back and check out some of their live music Ive heard about 🙂
The good points, the servers try and the fried pickles are good. The chicken wing aren’t bad either. My wife order the chicken tortilla soup (better off as a nacho cheese dip) and the fish and chips. If you can’t make fish and chips as a restaurant staple then don’t offer them, definitely need to change the oil frequently. I ordered calamari, let’s just say Gordon Food still does the standard job. I also ordered a steak which was ok and cooked the way I like. As far as the sides which were mash potato’s (tasted like a can) and the green beans (zero flavor or effort) not very good at all. The price does not compare to level of food. If you want a bar then this place is ok, if you want to eat, eat before you get there. I can definitely see why this place was empty. Definitely no need for me to go back.
Food was terrible and cold on arrival. Took the waitress 20 min to come check on us for her to tell me. Got Onion rings to replace my cold fries, and they were all stuck together. I left $2.30 on card and $1 tip on table for a $20 order. When they finalized my card she took $10 for a tip. Really a 50% tip. Never again will I go there
Food is always good! I come here often. Always fresh and hot! The servers do an amazing job there. This restaurant is amazing from the staff to the owners! I told everybody all my friends to come here.
My husband and I came into the bar. We had just stopped in from picking up our vehicle from Wayne’s transmission shop and were thrilled that we could relax before heading home. Alda our bartender was what we thought a very nice and genuine person by conversation. We ordered two cocktails and two shots that were completely watered down! I mean it was complete water. I asked my husband to try my drink and I try his to see if it was just mine but no, both water. A Hendrix gin shot and an Anejo Taquila completely watered down with bubbles in it & when we said next time just give it to us straight she walked away with a very shady aura. It really was disappointing, especially since we were just having a conversation about people getting over on others. We also didn’t feel comfortable ordering food because we felt we were being taken advantage of. We still tipped Alda appropriately because as a former bartender myself I know we depend on tips, but I just want to remind establishments that these days when people go out they are spending their hard earned money. Large bills with no satisfaction makes the people feel robbed.
I had a terrible experience when me n my fiancé went here for dinner and some drinks. It was a Friday night at very slow. The bar didnt have half of the items to make a decent cocktail. After we ate we went outside to smoke. The owner sent the bouncer outside to chase us down thinking we were skipping out on the check. We are a very well dressed couple and clearly have the money to pay for our food. The bouncer and the waitress apologized to us for the misunderstanding. However when introduced to the manager she had nothing to say to us. Not nice to meet you, no apologies, nothing. Needless to say we will never go back and will make sure we tell everyone of this racial profiling.
Have been to CJ’s a handful of times and never really had a good or bad experience. Came in about a month ago with a group of 8 and had an awful experience. First, the waitress forgot half of our orders. Then, she repeatedly asked us if she could bring the checks out. The entire place was almost completely empty and it was like 8pm on a Friday. We said no, and were continuing to order drinks. Finally, the next day I checked my credit card statement and realized there was not only a $60 charge for mine and my husband’s tab but an additional $160 charge. We called 2x and were told a manager was going to call us back because we even still had our receipt. Never received a call back and had to dispute it with our credit card company. Would not return for multiple reasons but especially the extra $160 charge (and everyone else in our group had their normal bill and no ones was $160 so truly no idea how that number was even made up unless it was purposeful fraud).
I’ve been to many similar restaurants, but this one truly stands out. It has a beautiful deck when you can enjoy the amazing delicious food. Friendly staff created a welcoming atmosphere.I’ll be recommending it to all my friends and family.
We went in on Wednesday for all you can eat crab. As we walked in the door a sign stated that all you can eat crab was on Wednesdays. We order our food and waited almost 40 minutes for it to come out. Once the food came out, they had completely forgotten one of our party’s food. She had to wait another 15 to 20 minutes to get her meal. Our soups we ordered for before the meal came at the same time as the late meal, even though we told her to cancel them since we already had our food. We asked for our next round of crab and only then we were told they no longer do all you can eat crab. We looked on Facebook and there, pinned at the top of the page, was also the advertisement for all you can eat crab. When talking to the manager she was extremely rude and told us it was our fault for not knowing they had changed the menu even though it was being advertised clearly. She walked away mid conversation. There was no apology or attempt to fix the problem. We still had to pay for everything including the soups we asked to be canceled since they came out 20 minutes after we received our food. If you are looking for a place that cares at all about their customers, this is not the place.
NEW OWNERSHIP!! Food is delicious and the atmosphere is calm. Not how it use to be, will be going back. Try the pizza, we also had wings.
My friend ordered a chicken caprese sandwich and took one bite and the chicken was completely raw, we had to find the server to take it back and asked for the bill and she charged us for a sandwich he took one bit out of!! i had ordered a mix drink and she charged me for each liquor that was in it. our server sat at the bar on her phone the whole time and didn’t check on us.. not even one time!! we were very disappointed with the server there. i wouldn’t recommend going there!!!
WORST BIRTHDAY EXPERIENCE EVER . I came here with a group of friends for my 23rd birthday, there was nobody there but the waitresses .My friends and I ordered food and drinks and let the restaurant and staff know we were stepping outside to smoke for a second. We went outside for 5 minutes and someone followed us out telling us they wanted to make sure we didnt leave and took a picture of our license plate. The only reason we were smoking in the car was because it was still cold outside at that time. We came back in and spoke to management again about the making it very clear it was My birthday i wasnt planning on leaving and asked if they would start our food . They told us they would have to check each and every one of our ids again which we all provided, then they asked to hold a card which we also complied with . We all stepped back outside for 20-30 mins. We came back in sat down and they still not had started our food, then asked for a third time to see our ids . I stated at that point i wanted to speak to a manager who informed me they would not be serving or servicing us . We asked why they told us it was because we refused to show our ids for a third time. We proceeded to remind them that they had already checked everyones id and that they have our credit card with a name on it . They gave us the card back and a bill for the drinks we ordered . The server was very nice and respectful so we paid for our drinks and gave her a $50 tip in cash . The restaurant all together was very racist, disrespectful, and completely unprofessional and a waste of time .
Went for all-you-can-eat crab. Nice place, the crab was good, but the sides were not. I would have been going here every week for all-you-can-eat crab because I love it, but they bring you the first plate and then almost make you beg for more. Comes to about $75 for all-you-can-eat. Not a good deal, would be fine if they kept it coming, but they dont, not even close to it.
2/28/24 Dinner3 people in our group2 all you can eat crab1 Chicken AlfredoOnly sodas no alcohol drinks.Son and I got the crab. Crab and soup were pretty good, however 2 different prices for same meal when his wasnt a kids meal?? One was over 70 one was over 80. When I was told by a worker when I called the AYCE crab dinner was $65Fiance had the Chicken Alfredo and couldnt eat it. Noodles were rubbery and had no flavor.Very disappointed in the food. Added on gratuity for a bar restaurant that does not provided gratuity charging service. some how being charged $220 for these 3 meals. We drove over an hour with so much hope and excitement. If it wasnt for the girl running the karaoke, I would say it was the worst dining out experience ever. This young lady made our trip worth it! She had our son singing and even sang with him! I didnt catch her name but thank you again!!! He was so happy and proud of himself
The food here is absolutely delicious! Also the staff is very friendly and goes above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience. Very good atmosphere will be going back again!
I ate the most delicious pizza. We also ordered the chicken wings and they were so delicious. Staff were so welcoming. A must-visit!
For 4 drinks they gave me more ice than drink.6 dollars for each is Its not bad but the cup is very small and a lot of ice.I told the bartender that it was too much ice and she got upset, she charged me double to add more but in the same cap.I told her to give me a bigger cup because it was a $12 drink, He told me that he was going to give me the same content even if he gave me a bigger cup.In the end, he gave me a bigger drink for 12 dollars, that drink of that size costs 6 or 7 dollars in coyote bar.
Menu was pricey for the wait n food u received. But my waiter was nice. Food took to long to receive. It was just wings and a salad.
Honestly the fish was pretty good, crunchy on the outside n dry n flaky on the inside, the fries r fries, the pineapple slaw is interesting, not bad at all ...but it took over an hour to get my order and they apparently were pretty rude to my driver, who doesnt speak great English, she said this restaurant is very disrespectful n after reading some of the reviews Im not surprised...its unfortunate because even if the food is good, treating people badly will stop repeat customers, even if it was a woman Ive never met who just delivered food for me, I dnt want to support a place who treated her poorly because of how she spoke or looked, if this is the same views of the owners I guess it will never change, but if its not sounds like the owners need to make some changes in the staff...
Great atmosphere, Alda was great as our server, customer service was great, and the food was delicious. Definitely coming back
Great food! and our waiter was very nice and funny, cant remember his name :/ The food came out very fast and they were very friendly!
Place was amazing! Great vibes, awesome music and the servers were amazing! If you’re looking for a night out come here!
Ive never been to an all you can eat crab place where they make you ask for more and make you wait 20 minutes in-between each serving. I guess theres a first for everything! This place is a hard pass. Its too bad that these guys dont get that this loses customers. Just dont offer all you can eat if your not going to serve it that way.
We did a 30 birthday party for my daughter Saturday food drinks and service were excellent she had great time are friends and family were very impressed with the new changes at the restaurant and bar and had a great time keep the good work up see you soon.
4/20/24 went in for the first time, looking for a place to have a wedding reception New owners really turned the place around very friendly really good food really can’t complain we tried a few things on the menu ribeye calamari half rack of ribs, salad macaroni, and everything was really good
The new owners are really great! They made sure that our event went well and the food was great!
This establishment is marred by prejudice views and ideology’s…. Regardless, me and my wife took it upon ourselves to try the venue and make our own unbiased opinion. Never again! I would urge that you don’t support a business with such derogatory remarks slated toward a specific group. This is the problem with getting past old ignorant stereotypes….its 2023 for God sake.
Thought about coming here since i seen it was 8 minutes away from where I live. But after seeing proof of the racism Id rather not go and waste time. Seems like theyll spit in your drinks just because youre black
Alda was great. She was on it!! Food and drinks were good!! Will be back!!
We go here fairly often, but the service can be a bit slow most times. I normally go with wife and kids around dinner time, and since it is a bar, its not usually busy at dinner time. We dont drink alcohol. We do enjoy great food. CJs food is amazing.Last night we had Ky as a server. He was absolutely the best server weve ever had there. No grumpiness because we didnt have alcohol. Had our food out as quick as possible, never left a glass past half empty. Always had plenty of pop on the table.Hes normally a bar tender but so glad he was our server last night. If you havent gone to CJs for their food, you really should.
I was greeted with friendly energy, but once I got upstairs that energy changed. Her customer service wasnt so friendly. Eating while serving us, which I dont think is sanitary. The deck was clean tho. I ordered the CJs wrap, and added buffalo. The buffalo sauce overpowered EVERYTHING. Just wasnt good at all.
The first time I went there and met Alda one of the new owners I had just recently lost my brother she was so gracious and kind to me and showed compassion! The service and hospitality is right on point I have met many peeps from their Restaurant such down to earth people. Anything I have ordered to eat is fabulous and prepared with love❤️ The ladies restroom is spotless and I have never seen not one dirty table. So y’all come back now HEAR
I almost never slam a restaurant but this place out of the 100 or so places I have reviewed is absolutely awful...Its probably why theres never any people there..Just awful New owners still less than good food. Now the wait staff is bottom of barrel.Garbage level...Nothing changed.AvoidWent there when it was called something and wasnt very good. Not so good service and cold chili.Kennedys up the street is way better
Kat, the bartender, is absolutely the best part. Menu is large, huge portions, plenty to share.
Not ready for customers. Recommended for the fajitas and decided to give it a second try (first visit was not positive). parking is plentiful. Disappointed. Our party of 7 arrived at 4:50 PM, waited to be seated and were approached by a manager(?) who told us that we could sit anywhere. We found a spot away from most of the blaring speakers and, with our open seating choice, one table did not provide adequate room for comfortable eating (fajita expectation was of many plates) so did the Guys / Girls at separate adjoining table. All service was painfully SLOW! Appeared there was only one waitress for this large establishment. The open seating allowed far separation of diners, and extended distances to travel for the one server. Drinks (one beer, one martini) and water order took over 17 minutes to arrive and the martini requested was not provided as requested. Drink refills were necessary before orders were taken. I ordered the recommended fajitas and was sorely disappointed. One small bowl of rice, covered tortilla container and a skillet that was blackened to the extent you could not discern what items were present (onions, peppers, chicken all appeared burned, but were actually just discolored a dark brown). The taste was average (I did not send it back, I was hungry from the long wait) but the serving size was small, no lettuce, no tabasco, no cheese, no sour cream. The tortillas were stuck together and I had to scrape off the paper they were wrapped in. For the price ($18.00) it was not close to the value and quality that had been described by a previous patron. My Bride ordered the shrimp salad and, again, the value, presentation and quality were far below what was expected. The portion was very small and price, again was high. Waitress had to be flagged to obtain drink refills and they were not provided in a timely manner. Recognizing that hiring has been a challenge, there appeared to be no management involved in deciding closing would have been a better choice rather than disappointing all who entered. We had to search out management (who was bussing tables) to get our bills and didnt get out of the place until after 7:15 PM. Other patrons were similarly disgruntled with the lack of service. Noise levels were also high (many tvs and a projection screen) which made conversation difficult. There is much competition in our area, do not expect this establishment to survive.
Since the owner wants to be petty, I’ll match that energy. They had more staff than customers during dinner time, and he was easily recognizable because he was drinking with the only 4 customers he had. My drink was $12 for something barely larger than a shot glass.Theres been a vomit stain on the awning near the second level deck, right next to where the siding was peeling away. This guy doesnt care about his building, or his business and it shows.Go to Irish Tavern, Kennedys, Buck Shots, 4th Tavern, or anywhere else in Waterford for a better & cheaper experience.Sincerely,Mr. Unsatisfied
My friend and I had a delicious dinner. Food arrived hot and the waitress was friendly. We also met the owner - Klodian. He asked us about our meal and the servIce we received. I would like to have my daughters Bridal Shower next year at CJs!
I am not one to do this, but bartender on upper deck got mad at tip because he “expected” a certain amount. We work in the restaurant industry as well have bartended, served, cooked, and managed, it is never okay to badger and rudely question a customer about a tip. Especially when we did tip. Ver disappointed. Management should talk to the bartender about this problem, absolutely not okay at any establishment. On a Saturday night there’s 10 people total and i can see why.(Edit) talked to management today, she was super sweet and agreed also tried to correct the situation so thank you alda we appreciate your kindness!
New owners have done menu updates that are looking good. They are very involved, attentive and courteous..love seeing them out working with their team and making it happen. Stay humble and success will come your way. And, Thank you for backing the Blue!
One of those rare places in Oakland County, Michigan where they have great burgers, excellent salads, fantastic pizza, they even have a crab night on Wednesday, a DJ on Friday and Saturday, its open for lunch, and also has great dinners with pasta as well. I was out in White Lake, where I havent been in years, taking care of a family members home, and needed a place for a good burger. This place exceeded my expectations, and I found myself even going back for dinner after lunch. A++
Waiters Blake and Ky were exceptional.Affable, loquacious and attentive to detail, both have my vote for top notch bartenders and waiters.Good vibes and great food, liberal pours on drinks and good, decent clientele as well.
Took 5 tries to get a clean plate and 4 tries to find clean silverware. Food was ok but definitely not like it used to be. This place has definitely gone downhill. Staff didnt seem happy to even work there. When we arrived we sat ourselves. Walked to the only clean table we could find. Everything just seemed off. Took a picture of our receipt just to make sure my card wasnt over drawn for more than I paid for. Think its the last time well be costumers. Hopefully the owner and management reads this and does some quality checks. Maybe Ill see this place on a bar rescue tv show in the future because it needs it.
I had a great evening in CJ’s me and my friend had fried pickles the bartender Blake told us to try they were amazing, we also had a special drink from him he called it a slice of heaven so good. I would recommend going there and having French onion soup…atmosphere was great, good energy from the bar staff.
Went for lunch on a Saturday, the food was great, service was fast and everything was clean.
Always top notch food. Saw some reviews about drinks but as a service industry worker I feel that is standard and thought double means you pay double and just figured people should know the price is supper fair at six for a full drink. Totally been places where drinks are now 13 or 14 for a single. I know this is a happening place! Great to see it still in the neighborhood and surviving.
All you can eat crab legs were not bad and the waitress kept them coming until she up and disappeared for 30+ mins while we waited for the check. No pricing for the all you can eat crab noted anywhere so it would be nice of them to at least let you know it’s $67/person. Gratuity is also already included in the bill so it’s bold of them to ask for more on top of that. The $5 margaritas on wednesdays are all ice and the $8 rum buckets are all pineapple juice. We were first time visitors and we probably won’t be back!
They got a new menu, tried the Buffalo chicken wrap and the nacho both are good and better than before. Hopefully the rest of the menue is the same. Its was the first day of the new menu as well so I was impressed . Atmosphere was still the same . Three drunk people at the bar that were super annoying no sound playing from the tvs or juke box .Food is better though 100%
All you can eat crab legs were hit or miss with flavor, the corn wasn’t good but the tater tots were. Server was ok at being attentive, she was good at refilling the crab legs.I wish we were informed the price of the all you can eat crab legs when ordered since I was not expecting $70 each person.
Had a fried chicken sandwich. That dish was the Bees Knees. Let me tell ya I havent had one that fresh in a long time. Service was tremendous. Nice spot. Will come back most definitely.
I had a great time here at CJ’s tonight the staff were very attentive and friendly. The food was phenomenal! I got the mussels and the grand traverse salad. I must say it was the best salad and mussels I’ve ever had. The atmosphere is very fun and welcoming. I highly suggest this place!!!
Our server was a gentleman who didn’t care to check on us once during our food nor anytime before then. Not only forgot my fries but told me they were coming. Then the fries came out when I finished my food after I asked him about them, They were so burnt and the fryer grease had to of been old. Then we stood up waiting for our checks for 20 minutes until another server came up and asked if everything was okay. We waited another 15 minutes for the checks We left a cash tip on the table and then the next morning we were charged EXTRA on our card. The server added a tip, Im a server myself and in any other restaurant… putting a tip on someone’s credit is a big NO and an immediate let go. Place is trashy, disgusting and not worth your time. horrible.
My Fiancé & I came last night 11/7 & unfortunately decided to just pay for our drinks. The menu changed & took away some good stuff & the sprite I had didnt taste like sprite, it just tasted watered down. My fiance said that his Mt. Dew didnt taste right either. I dont think we will be coming back for a hot minute.
So my friends and I went out for “thanksgiving eve” to CJ’s. We were on the upper floor, along with everyone else. We aren’t a rowdy crew, and decided to go sit outside so we could hear eachother talk because the music inside was very loud, and we couldn’t hear each other. No problem. At one point in the night, I wanted to get a picture of the group of us. I VERY kindly asked the security guard who was out there if he could take a photo of us. There was no one else outside, just us, so it’s not like he was busy. He hesitated for a second, and then said “for $5”. I said “I’m a college student and I don’t really have the money to pay for $5 for a photo”. Then he said “well you can buy me a drink instead”. I replied “I’m buying my own drinks already”. He just shrugged. I still kind of thought he was joking, because what? My friends and I weren’t rowdy or loud or obnoxious at all. We just wanted a photo. But then I was beginning to realize he was serious, so I said “I could just go ask anyone inside to take a photo” and he shrugged. So idk. It was very off putting. I didn’t realize people there lacked common decency
If your of color your going to have a hard time getting in. I’ve been denied access because of how I was dressed but the people I came with were welcomed in. They had the same clothing I had on. Literally we intentionally matched that night. Only the black guy couldn’t come in
Sarah & Another Co-worker (Forgot Her Name) Both are Spectacular!!! They are Both Friendly, Sweet, Caring & Great Personalities!! The Spear Fried Pickles are Always Delish! The Hamburger/ Onion Rings Were Cooked to Perfection, Exactly How I love it! Dessert was Super Delish: Fried Cheesecake with Vanilla Ice Cream Topped With Chocolate/ Caramel!! Sarah & Your Assistant - Thank You Both For Your Great Hospitality!!! P.S. Enjoy Your Angels Young Ladies! Have a Blessed Day! Tania
My waiter Blake and Ky were awesome. They were attentive and just made my experience at CJ’s worth spending my money. The food is great! I’ll be back😍
Super chill spot. Very good food. Bartender is always cool and on point. 1 of my new favorite places!
Omg they have the best grilled peppers and onions anyone could ever ask for! Friendly staff immediately greeted my party of 3 as we walked in! The food was hot and tasty! I notice there’s a karaoke night which I would love to attend! Y’all rock! Keep it up! I’ll definitely be back and I’m telling lots of my friends about you!
We had a large party (15+) they gave us 2 waitresses (I think one was training) they did a great job. I think the younger girl (maybe in training) got a bit stressed but, all was good girl! Do not stress!! You did fine. Just take a deep breath next time and do your best, we all understand that there are a lot of us. As for the waitress trainer, great job!!! She kept her cool even when it was high stress! She obviously had experience. I hope you both made GREAT tips cuz it was deserved with such a big group. Great job ladies!!
We went specifically for the all-u-can eat crab legs. The crab legs were delicious! And they kept them coming! I couldnt have been more pleased with the crab legs. I order the beef stew, roasted potatoes and Spanish rice with my crab legs. The beef stew was good. My husband ordered French onion soup. The French onion didnt taste good... something was off about it. The potatoes were excellent, but the Spanish rice left something to desire. The atmosphere is nice. However, on all u can eat crableg night it is also karaoke night. So whether they can hold a note or not, you have to enjoy them with your food.
This place was disgusting inside, I hadn’t been back here since a child. Back here the other night for some food with friends, my husband was told me was dressed “ghetto” and I was called a “ghetto lover” by a waitress who wasn’t even the one serving me. If you guys are to be racist can you not do it directly to my face while I’m trying to eat your overpriced and undercooked food? Thanks.
I just recently moved to Waterford.I was looking for somewhere to hang out.Let me tell you this the owner and mangment are a unbelievable they treat me as I’m a member of thier family. Then the bartender Ashley is one of the nicest people I have ever met. Then the food omg great Cuban, burger,And they even have 1$ for nfl Sunday. You are you doing your self a disservice if you don’t stop in.YOU WONT REGRET IT
Cjs is always very good. I frequent CJs about once a month. The atmosphere is great, although I always try to sit outside on the deck. Angelina (Jolie) gave myself and my friend wonderful service. She was very attentive but not overbearing. She was also very friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend future customers ask for her if you go on a Tuesday and sit upstairs. I will definitely be coming back.-Guys Outside #1
Checked my lottery winnings on the MI lottery app., showed I won $29 and bartender gave me $19. Never was given my receipts for my winnings. I stated I won $29 and checked it on the scanner, he said I have one as well. I asked for my tickets and he gave them too me again without my winnings receipt from Michigan Lottery! He stole $10 from me! Lottery headquarters has been informed, hope he gets a $1000 fine.
We we seated for 15 min and no one came to our table. As we were leaving we told the manager and he could have cared less. One other family in the entire restaurant so they were not busy
Our waitress, Jen was great! Very attentive, friendly, and funny! The food (we had 1/2 rack of ribs, boneless chicken wings, the Bourbon Salmon, and the CJ Wrap) was on point! This has become the usual here. I dont know who theyve got cooking in the kitchen, but theyre worth whatever you pay them, perhaps more!
Awesome food and the best atmosphere.
Wow 5 people in bar and we were to loud, other 4 customers were having a blast. Drinks sucked and food sucked.
The chicken nachos were Dry! Very little cheese and the chicken was from a can and shredded! Disgusting!Server was a Doll! She took the nacho off the bill and we ordered a beef and chicken quesadilla. The beef mixture was consistent with mamwich! YUCK!Terrible food! This place has gone downhill over the years! It is really too bad.
The food was bland, everyone must have been having a bad day because service was so bad no wonder why on a Friday night there was no one there. I go out to eat a lot and never had a worst time honestly waste of money go elsewhere..
The wood that makes up the deck is aged, and Im concerned about the structure. You know when the groves get really deep on old wood, probably from water damage, and its painted over nicely but just looks like it needs replacing.I wouldnt want to be up there when its really busy. The prices are pretty standard, not low.Staff is nice. Good atmosphere during the day time. Just worried about that deck. The nighttime atmosphere in years past got a little wild, such that I dont envy their bouncers, or anyone who provokes them. Especially with those long stairs they have to get drunk people down in order to make them leave. Not sure if it still gets like that.
Place was great first time ever being there. They had my favorite grandmanier. Somehow I got roped in to playing beer pong(1st time) gotta brush up on my pong rules had fun. I love me some wings. I ordered some it took for ever. Over 45 minutes. Fight broke out while I waited. Got home wings lacked flavor and few other things missing. Called back and they did say they would redo my order. I gave it a four due to long wait and wings lack of flavor. I feel that a good wings don’t need to be drowned in any type of sauce. Oh and Dj gave a hard time about song 🎶 request. He literally told me to pay him for songs. He could have let me offer which I was. I moonlighted as a Dj I know the deal.
I was with a good friend of mine we are of different races. I was served my drink right away and he waited 20 minutes for coffee until I asked where is his coffee? I was told they had to brew it. it then was sent right to the table. no spoon, no creamers, no napkins. I feel this was racial. I will not come back to where my friend was treated badly.
Ive been eating/drinking at CJs Upper Deck for roughly 3 years now, visiting 3-4 times a week. The food, the atmosphere, and the people are wonderful. The specials can be hit or miss sometimes, but I love this place. Easily one of the best bars in Oakland County.
I cannot talk about the food since I only had 3 beers but great service and great atmosphere!
First time here and very happy! Service was great and friendly. Food was amazing! Got the ribs and im not sure what sauce they used but its like nothing ive had before! Like crack to me! Just couldnt get enough of it! My brother had the tuna app and said it was seared perfectly!!!! Burgers were great too! Will def be back here again!!!!
Always a good time. We live in Tennessee but have a summer home in Waterford...food is AMAZING!! Staff is always welcoming. Been coming here since I was 19 and now Im 43 and brining my kids and its always been good!
I enjoyed my dining experience. My service was excellent and loved the food. Atmosphere was pleasant. My waiter went out of his way to accommodate my wishes.
Great food and wonderful service.
We love playing trivia at CJs on Tuesday evenings (7:30pm hope to see you there!). While like all restaurants in our area CJs is understaffed, you would never know it, the wait staff at CJs are awesome. Shout out to Mo and Shawn! They have a nice variety of food choices on their menu and according to the rest of my trivia team they have great beer options, both on tap and bottles.
Fun laid back atmosphere. The pretty in pink is a great drink. I recommend the shrimp Baja tacos. Very good. Staff is friendly as well, but a little slow in the kitchen so give time
This is a cool place, open late and the food and drinks are tasty. I have been several times and I have not had a bad experience yet. One night we sat in the bar for a late dinner with friends and watched a UFC fight. The upper deck is like a club atmosphere, people seem to enjoy it. They also have pool tables. Will update when I can get there on a Wednesday for all you can eat crab.
The moment you walk into a place that youve never been to, you start to second guess your choice when you see signs of now hiring with almost a complete staff listed as the positions that they are hiring for. I guess thats a good thing though because the service was amazing. We had Carrie as our waitress and let me just say, the patience this woman had with us was outstanding. Not being familiar with the menu and being kind of skeptical of what to get, you can imagine how long it took to find something to get. Ive been to places where the waitress would visibly be upset with how long people take to order but not Carrie. She took our drink order and went about her way (coming back every few minutes to check to see if we were ready). I knew what I wanted right away once I saw it on the menu so I just observed the place while the people I was with looked over the menu. Carrie didnt miss a beat when it came to her other guests. From making drinks, to making sure her guest were taken care of, she was on it! After a terrible experience at Dynamic Wholesale Auto in Waterford, it was great to come in and be treated the way we were. Great service and great food!
The food was good. Colin was excellent.I ordered the shrimp fajitas.
I love this place! The food is delicious and the wait staff are friendly and helpful. Its the go-to neighborhood bar, and they always have a lot of business, which is not hard to figure out why! They have great specials on food and drinks. I actually celebrated my 21st birthday here! But the best part about this place is the porch on the second floor in the summertime. It is such a beautiful and relaxing environment, lit by party lights, small fire pits, and you can just sit back and watch the traffic below, amongst everything else. Needless to say, I love it here!!!
Always have an amazing experience at CJs. My sister and I go up there often, along with my parents and my entire family. Every since we moved to Waterford about 10 years ago this has been one of our favorite restaurants! Family owned business (which we always love to support) they have always been warm and welcoming! The bartenders and managers make it a point to learn your names and favorite drinks. The food is always epic and they always have great specials. I have met and made many new friends here from all different backgrounds being new to the area. I would 100% recommend them any day of the week! ❤️😊
I havent had this bad an experience in a restaurant in years. The music was so loud I couldnt talk to my wife. Add that to the vehicle noise from the street rods. Then there is the stair climb to the upper deck . And of course the food was nothing but basic bar fare. And the waitress was not attentive. Never asked if our meals were ok nor for a drink refill. I guess if your 20 something and want to get drunk this is your place.
The bang bang shrimp was amazing (awesome flavor). Rachel was amazing. Bring new to the area i will definitely be back. Love the relaxed atmosphere as well. Shot some pool and had couple beers after dinner to celebrate my birthday with my brother and sister-in-law. Cant wait to go back.
Great sports bar ambiance. Nice venue for a get-together with friend, and affordable drinks. Wait times are slightly above average. My last visit was sub-par, due to significantly long wait times, but I reckon that it was due to the person waiting our table during our visit. It was disappointing, because I was showing my friends a cool new dining place in the area, so I was embarrassed with the way it went. A 2-hour visit is far too long; and its not the first time (but is the longest time) that the wait was noticeable.
It was late at night. The serve did a great job serving us even though we were a large group. She was very patient with us. I couldnt get her name but we did tip her good!
Went to this place numerous times for drinks and wings... always had a positive experience until we brought friends to crab night on Wednesday. They advertise one price on the menu and when they gave us our bill it was triple what the menu price stated. We asked to see the manager to discuss the pricing. Julian could not have been more rude. He actually insulted multiple women at the table and overall acted like a spoiled child. When we objected to the price that wasnt even on the menu. It sucks because I really liked this place for the wings and beer but I will NEVER be back due to the behavior of the manager there.
Service was terrible. Waitresses are very nice and try their best, but it’s clear they are overwhelmed and too busy. Took us an hour and a half to get dinner. 40 minutes to get an appetizer. We even escalated the complaint to the manager . He said he would come to our table and speak with us more in depth. He never even came. Clearly management sucks and the system is awful. We will never come back , and will tell others to avoid this place too!
$140 meal for 2, food average not excellent. Used to go there all the time. But prices went way up, service is so so, food is good.
Good sports bar. Lots of screens and if you come early enough no cover. Theres a club upstairs but I didnt go to that part.Food is good. The juicy Lucy was flavorful but wasnt so juicy. I had juicy lucy in Minnesota so the cheese oozes out the burger but here it didnt even though it was medium. It was stuffed with bacon, cheese and onion and it was good but missing that ooze effect. They have drink specials line $2 well drinks and $1 beers at different hours. All you can eat crab legs on Wednesday. Some reviews mentioned the mistreatment of blacks but I didnt experience it. My friends heard the rumors too but never saw it. So I cant discredit those reviews or experiences but can say for myself, I was treated like a regular patron. I would come back.
My husband, son and I stopped in today for dinner (Saturday around 3:45ish). My husband ordered a pizza, my son ordered chicken strips and I ordered the sliders and a side of garlic mashed potatoes. I was pretty disappointed in my meal from the start. The hamburgers looked very uniform in size which I thought was odd for a fresh pressed patty. The potatoes tasted like they were either all box potatoes or at least half box, half real. After one bite of the burger, I knew they didnt taste right. The reason that I ordered them was b/c the picture of the slider looked so good and juicy in the menu. The color of mine (grayish) and the texture was all wrong so I stopped eating it. I asked the waitress if the meat was fresh or frozen. She said she didnt know but she would ask and not to my surprise, I was right. The sliders are frozen patties (hence the shape all being perfect circles) but the bigger burgers are apparently fresh pressed. Needless to say, I was pretty bummed and didnt eat my food. If youre going to put pictures of your food in your menu, at least be honest about it.
Awesome food and drinks. Went out for monday night karaoke. So much fun! Super hot in the room though! Need some fans or ac in there for sure! But other then that, the patio is very nice and comfy place to chill with friends.
Outstanding!!! Will recommend 100% . Had a party for 70. Flawless staff , food was next level. Good job CJs
I never really write reviews EVER. I have been going here for years , it’s been a nice place to drink as a young adult. We have ordered food from here a few times and it has always been good. Tonight however I got a chicken club with the fried chicken , upon opening it my boyfriend actually thought I got a BURGER. The chicken was obviously burnt , but it wasn’t hard and crispy and being someone who works in the restaurant industry tells me that the oil and everything was old as well. Disgusting really. I actually can’t believe they sent the food out like that. I’m in shock. We have eaten here a lot lately , but that will not happen anymore. I’m so grossed out and now I’m just curious what goes on with the other food.
Great food. Great drinks. Great service! If you’re looking for a chill place for happy hour or enjoy the deck on a warm summer day this is your place!! I love coming during the days and on the weekends the DJ is awesome! Everyone is super nice and welcoming here and it’s a breath of fresh air when you walk through the doors!
Terrible experience went in ordered shots. The waitress came back with cold shots only to our surprise they were watered down. We ordered food our philky cheesesteak was burnt , our shrimp was undercooked and had no seasoning and our steak was burnt on the outside med well on inside. When we ask for a manager he came out and only had one thing to say this is how we make it without offering anything in exchange or accomendations. Poor people skills even worse leadership skills. You should be fired John.
My sister and I treated ourselves to CJs all you can eat crab legs this past Wednesday. We received our first plate of crab and it was delicious. Then we sat at our table for over 45 minutes before our waiter returned. By this time both our plates and glasses had been empty for quite some time. When the waiter did return with more crab, it tasted aweful. Im not sure if it had been reheated, but it was so fishy. We still didnt receive another drink or even fresh butter. CJs requires 18% gratuity with all you can eat crab, which is fine, I usually tip 20%+, but do to the service we had one plate. I went home hungry and ate a bowl of cereal. 😞 Unfortunately this was our first time at CJs and also our last.
Called ahead, upper deck to be open at 3:30, on a Saturday. Arrived at 3:30. Upper deck open, but no service until 5 or so.Deck atmosphere is good. Could use some music. Tiki bar not open either. It is a shame that people do not want to work anymore. I was ok with stepping up to bar to get served. Shortages everywhere....but jobs everywhere!I will go back sometime.
The place looks very nice on the inside, and tbe waitresses were very nice, even being short-staffed! I ordered the only vegetarian item on tbe menu (vegetarian fajitas), and ended up with food poisoning! Had a terrible headache all day Monday, and have been running back and forth to the bathroom with diarrhea since then!
The service was great. The food mediocre at best. I had the blackened steak bites appetizer. The steak was fatty and tough. The zip sauce, tasted and looked like ajus and was lacking flavor. My favorites part of this dish was the garlic bread.
Been here a couple of times so far. Decent enough food and service. Large, multi-level space. Last visit this past weekend overheard a couple getting the all you can eat fish meal do a back and forth dance with the (really nice) young server girl over taking the leftovers home in a box. Apparently, youre not allowed in that instance FYI.
Food is always pretty good. Good variety of options. Sometimes however the service is slow. Not sure if they dont have enough wait staff or if its because the waitstaff have two levels they have to wait on. They have an upstairs open area that would be great for parties and an outside eating area upstairs when weather is nice. There is a full bar and music with pool tables and tvs all around. Overall i like. Eating here just make sure your not in a hurry.
The one and only time Ive been to this bar, my girlfriend and I went with a few of my fraternity brothers for ones birthday. We stayed for an hour and only ever managed to get two drinks. We arrived before ten, which was the $1 well drink specials. The special was somewhat selective, but thats understandable - whats not understandable is how A) everyone who got a well drink that was part of the special was charged $3 instead of $2, and B) everyone was forced to pay for their drinks before 10PM. They attributed the price increase to having two shots of tequila, instead of one - nobody asked for this. Regardless of this extra liquor - it still tasted like there was hardly any in the drinks. At 10PM it switched to $1 beer specials. This was found out to be only on all Domestic bottles. Then we found out it was on all domestic bottles except Rolling Rock. Fine.We would have had a better night and stayed much longer if we had gotten served more than twice in an entire hour. They were not that busy - only half the first floor was full. Our waitress just continuously disappeared and we wouldnt see her for 10 minutes at a time.Very unimpressed with this place and will not return.
Pretty cool place. Watched some guys play beer pong. Never seen that at a bar before. Its aimed more at the younger crowd and theyve hit their mark.
Great customer service and owner of the bar was very involved and the bartender lexi was great as well. Will definitely return.
Service was awesome . We had 3 adults and one child and the waitress went out of her way to make the 2 year old happy. I had fish and chips. I do not like a lot of batter and it was perfectly battered, perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked. Wish I could remember the waitresses name so I could give her credit.
Great food, waitresses are always attentive and friendly, and cant complain about the great specials. Something about sitting out on a patio with company and enjoying the food. Their nachos are delish and when I asked for a recommendation on a beer their recommendation was on point. Thanks!
Anything on the menu is great from chicken wraps to french onion soup to all you can eat crab legs PLUS they stop serving food at 2 a.m! Good music downstairs always and the upstairs turns into a club later in the evening which is a fun time. The waitresses are super friendly and the beer selection is awesome. I definitely recommend this place for lunch dinner and a great time.
The waitress seemed a bit newer as she wasnt able to provide menu recommendations, had to ask for various items throughout the visit. Table didnt include silverware, had to ask after food was served. Dessert was fantastic. However I went outside briefly and was locked out of the building as they closed that portion of the restaurant at 9:00pm. Meanwhile I had to call my friends still dining inside to get inside
My daughters and I were excited to find an AUCE Crab dinner on a Wednesday night. We drove an hour and walked into an empty restaurant at 4:30 pm. My daughter had researched the price of the dinner and found in a review that it was $35.00....way too steep but we tried it. BIG MISTAKE. We were served a bland crab vegetable soup. We were then served a small bowl of overcooked, over-seasoned cubed potatoes with a 1/2 piece of undercooked, strange tasting corn on the cob sitting in the middle of the potatoes. The first set of crab legs came with it and most of the legs did not have meat in them. The clarified butter to dip the crab in did not have that uniquely sweet buttery taste you would find at a quality restaurant but we dipped anyway. We had a couple of clusters of crab, did not bother eating the corn or potatoes and my daughter jumped up and said I have to go to the bathroom! When she got back she said she felt sick, had just had diarrhea and had a back ache and headache which she gets when she eats any nitrates, additives or color dyes. We left soon thereafter and within a 1/2 hour of leaving my second daughter and myself had to make an emergency stop due to upset stomach and diarrhea. The KICKER though, aside from the diarrhea was that when I received the bill I just about fell over. The dinner was ***$46.99*** per person, along with 3 cokes and an appetizer of mussels which left a LOT to be desired and floating in the same yellow butter dip with one large raw garlic clove. This along with the required 18% gratuity brought the bill total to !!!! $ 200.!!!! I called early the next day to speak with the manager or owner and was told someone would call me later in the day. Im still waiting.....................................................
I used to really love this place, and went here often until we went for crab leg night. When we got our bill, it was much much more than the menu price. We spoke to the manager, Julian who was beyond rude, and instead of working with us on the price, threatened to call the police. I will never go back here. Be careful to confirm price before you order, they have tiny asterisks * on the menu that says price is subject to change without notice. So glad I used my American Express, and they took care of me..
Fun bar! Youd think there would be more of a crowd there on the weekends. Great drinks, good food, and great staff. It could use a refresher on the decor, but overall a fun place.
Ordered the all you could eat fish. All of the meals came at the same time and after eating two of them I ordered another piece. It took a half an hour. So I ordered another piece immediately and it never came. WHAT A JOKE!!! I understand they don’t want to bring a lot each time which would be wasteful but one piece every half hour! I really feel they are screwing their waitstaff because I’m not going to sit there an hour waiting for two pieces of fish which would mean I take up their table when they can be turning it. We were there with a group of six people and it was ridiculous....
The waitress was very inexperienced and couldnt explain things on the menu. She didnt know anything about one of the beers on tap. She stood watching me as I signed the check. The nachos were not very good. One of our meals was overcooked. I blame these things on poor training.Overall, it was not terrible but not good.
Didnt like it at all glass wine only a mouthful they said it was happy hour but two signs had two different times one said lasted to 6 and one said 7 would not honor 7:00 happy hour
Orders a carry out and manager was very rude on phone. Told me to “order online, I can’t help you.” So I ordered online and PAID online. Upon my arrival had to speak with 3 staff members to understand if my order was even there, after I ordered online and called to make sure it went through. Then after they “found” my order was told I had to pay for it at establishment when I already had made my payment online. Manager preceded to let me know that I could “call tomorrow and I’ll cancel the online payment, just make sure to call me.” Personally I feel as though I should have been treated with more respect and as inconvenienced as they made me feel for ordering and paying ahead with my food, I cannot say my I will be returning. Covid or not no one deserves to go through this much trouble and have tp speak to multiple employees to receive there order they have already paid ahead for and has been pulled from their bank account. I would appreciate some form of apology for my major inconvenience. 7/27/21 and will never be able to give a good review.
Probably one of the worst experiences Ive had as far as service. The food was OK, but took waaaay too long to come out. The waitress made the experience even worse. She was unsure of the menu and had to continually run back and forth to get answers to the question we asked regarding the menu items. The energy also felt unwelcoming. The service was so bad that I didnt even want to leave a tip...but left 10% anyway.
The prices have gone up too much for this to be a neighborhood bar and grill. The all you can eat crab legs went from $25.99 to $47! One shot of liquor is $11 from $7 while the bathrooms are run down, the water glasses are plastic and the dining room is practically empty during times when it used to be filled with customers. Where are their price increases going, if not to improve the venue? I wont be going back.
If I were rating the DJ, it would be one star. The bartenders were friendly and great. However, the millennial DJ was very unprofessional rude. Perhaps he should open up his own bar if he only wants to play music HE likes. You service all types of customers and the music they want to hear should be played whether it’s YOUR taste or not. They’re the ones paying for drinks to stay and be entertained. When asked to play a song that I wanted to hear, he refused to play it because he didn’t like it. I wish I got his name but I left the bar because my time was ruined. Not everyone wants to hear sleezy, cheap, offensive music every song.
Food is decent. But our server was very rude and was not accommodating. Our table of 9 ordered a few alcoholic drinks and it looked and tasted nothing like the description listed on their drinks menu & lied about it also.Food is not bad, but the terrible service is enough to never return.
Terrible service and sub-par food. We waited over 20 minutes just to place a drink order. When we decided to move to the bar after the waitress continually ignored us, the manager made a joke about us playing musical chairs rather than asking what the issue was. My burger had hardly any taste and was very bland.
It is a clean place with a diverse menu, reasonable prices, & fast service (usually). I really like their Buffalo Chicken & Bacon salad. I go there for the food, so I cant comment on the bar experience upstairs, but it looks hangoutable from afar.
Ive been coming to this establishment for years. The food here is very tasty. Good salads, steaks, chicken. Never been disappointed with my food. Over the years waitresses come and go, great and not so great. Enjoy the karoake with Mark here as well. Super fun!
Decent crowd on random Saturdays, awesome DJ, but they have a really hard time keeping good bartenders. Most dont look up enough to notice a customer waiting for their attention. Sadly, the only bartender who is truly attentive quit. Decent selection of drinks but only seasonal Sam Adams on tap. Menu looks exhaustive, but is actually pretty limited. Little pasta, almost no vegetarian options, the appetizers are an attempt at ritzy but fail. Nachos strangely have muenster cheese instead of anything remotely spanish - not very good.
Great menu and food and drinks are very generous portions. Good atmosphere inside and outside. Staff are very helpful. Its one of our regular places for going out to eat. Try it. You wont be dissapointed.
The service was horrible. It felt like they were ignoring us. Took them 30 to 45 to get our food. We got fed up with the wait and tried to leave. We were willing to pay for our pops and our appetizers but they gave us the worst aditude. I work in a restaurant as a manager I would never treat a customer with tpye of disrespect. Im sorry to the owner but Im never coming back.
I thought I was welcomed here but I guess no!. An additional tip was added to my card and NO ONE returned my multiple calls. I wanted to believe it was a mistake, but after being dodged and needing to get my bank involved I will never return! Its now no wonder why this place struggles and will continue to struggle... you cant mistreat good people and expect good return! Karma!
This place has pool, DJs, a small dance floor, amazing servers (Brittany was perfect and very attentive all night despite the bar being understaffed), and good food and drinks. The crowd, however, is solidly disappointing at best, but perhaps that was my fault for going on a Thursday. It seemed like CJs was really going for a younger crowd (they even had a beer pong tournament starting at midnight) but everyone there was older and glued to the TVs. No one on the dancefloor besides me and my buddies. Great sports bar, otherwise Id pass.
Nice, place, good people. The drinks are fairly priced, and there is a cool little bar/half club with pool tables upstairs
Great bar. Forgot the bartenders name young guy real cool will return!
Took my son here for his birthday. The food was awesome and the service was excellent. They have heated outside dining room. Nice work... Ill be back soon.
I only stopped to use the restroom as I was Uber driving and not partaking in the wedding party that was going on. The crowd was lively and the place was set up pretty well for Waterford Twp. I like the lights they added to the front of the building, it is very eye catching. The photo I posted looks nothing like there recent addition of about 200 light sticks on the front of the building, you locals have to check it out!
Had a 21st bday get together here & was a little disappointed after how much everyone hypes up CJs.. A drink was watered down, she bought a margarita, and the salt wasnt on the rim but it was mixed in for some reason. It took 20 mins for a friend to get her Long Island and a beer. The bartender was not nice about it either and made a few passive aggressive jabs. All in all, it was a good night, with amazing onion rings, awesome DJ, but average drinks and service.
Came to have dinner on a Friday night. Place was filled to less than 50% capacity. Ordered dinner. Had an hour wait waiter said due to carry out orders. I asked why we didnt have our soup or salad yet? He ran and got me a salad. Then dinner was served with soup. Had to track the waiter down for bread sticks and drink refills. Had to track the waiter down for salt, pepper, ketchup. Had to track the waiter down for the bill. Food was not great. Very disappointing evening. In addition: I woke up at 6am sick to my stomach - puking and diarrhea for several hours. I think I had food poisoning. Did anyone else get sick after their Friday night fish dinner at CJs Upper Deck in Waterford on 8/28/20?
Decent food, but we went for the crab legs and at$ 47 plus a 18 % mandatory gratuity, we passed and had the Calimari bleu (i do not suggest) And the chicken Monterey...we both agreed we would try this place again, but order something different next time. The service ; good atmosphere was typical for a sports bar and grill.. One redeeming quality.. The menu is huge!
Awesome food always but honestly I have to give them 2 stars because service means alot. Every time Ive been the servers have been very careless with making sure you have what you need. Maybe ive gotten unlucky but theyve got strike 3 from me. Last time the waitress never even checked on us. She walked past us and ignored my boyfriend as he asked her something. Our drinks remained empty even after she brought out food and we asked for refills. I was drinking alcohol so had she brought my drink she would have upped her bill. Clearly it wasnt a concern. We had to hunt her down for the bill and boxes. To top it off, I forgot my vape pen and went in 3 minutes later to grab it and it mysteriously disappeared. I watched her walk to the table to clear it as soon as we left. She was real fast to collect her tip and steal my vape though. Mind you, were not demanding or picky at restaurants. I waitresses for 14 years, I get it but this has been unacceptable every time.
I can say, without a doubt, slowest service i have ever seen. Especially during lunch hour, 15+min wait for a drink order that never came and last time was an even longer wait for food to finally come. If you are looking to miss your lunch hour or spend your evening waiting around, this is the place for you.
Never eat here at night, THIS IS YOUR ONLY WARNING, no wonder they dropped the prices i wish i could give it 0 star drinks quality of the food went wayyyyyyyyy down than before. how do you mess up a simple order? No modifications and they gave our food to us FREEZING and of course it takes the staff 20 minutes to give your change back so they hope you dont wait around enough for it back. The only people that can stomach food this poorly made are the drunks
Their menu online states crab dinner 25.99 all you can eat on Wednesday then when you get there all you can eat is 47.00?? What a bait and switch. Also their not honest with their drink specials. I dont mind paying for anything, just dont steal it out of my pockets!
Good experience for late night grub. The open air upper deck was cool, and our waitress Kansas took really good care of us. Very energetic cool chick, conversed enough, and let us do our thing enough it was that good balance.
Had my niece 21st birthday and the new owner is awesome and the staff was very helpful and friendly I would definitely be back soon
I called ahead of time to ask if they were still doing all you can eat crab since wed be driving a ways to get there. We show up about 30 minutes later and told at the door they stopped because of an unexpected rush. What? Its every Wednesday...all you can eat...but you didnt think people would show up? Drove from Grand Blanc to Waterford for no reason.
New bartender Tim is on point. Food came out faster than usual, always a great atmosphere but have really stepped up their game since the past few times we have visited. I was hesitant to come back but Im glad I did. Great service!
Came here for St Patricks day with a few girl friends. We are new to the area as we attend college in the area. We where a little disappointed this visit as we are confused as to who the nee DJ was upstairs? We asked him to play some songs and he refused. The music was alright, but a little too ghetto for us. We then went down stairs to leave and saw the normal DJ and asked him if he would play our songs. He said yes and played them almost right away. Only because of him did we decide to stick around. Not sure if we will be back if the new guy is going to be there. But we will say that for being a party night, service was good. Just sucks that we got wristband for upstairs and ended up having more fun downstairs!
I just had the worst experience ever about 20 minutes ago. Our server was less than friendly. Was very rude and condescensing. I could not believe the terrible service this man bestowed upon us. I hope Sean M has a better night and realizes that hes in customer service. Will never come back.
Came for the crab legs and we werent disappointed. Our server (Jeremy) was on point even though he had quite a few other tables. We always had fresh crab, and my God it was good. I wish I lived closer.
Had Shelby as our waitress, WONDERFUL service !!!! My Fiancé Had all you can eat crab legs and for me some side items. He LOVED the crab and my food was delicious. Definitely will be back!!!!! People said stabbing and cops always here......lol. We must have missed that action, the place was very calm and laid back ❤️
Here at 5:30 on a Tuesday. Standard lame sports bar atmosphere, minus the actual patrons; place practically empty. Food was okay, not great, not awful, but had a pre-made, frozen quality to it.The Pretzel Sticks appetizer came with only 3 short sticks and a bowl of the same kind of cheese you will encounter on nachos in a school cafeteria. French Onion crock had practically no onions in it and was very salty. The pork ribs were very tender but obscenely bland, and tasted freezerburned and old. Baked beans seem to be from a can. Basically an overpriced Applebees, but Applebees tastes better. Would not recommend.Service only okay, was not offered drink refills, had to ask. Boss needs to tell his servers not to wear perfume in a restaurant establishment, no one wants to smell Viva La Juicy while eating ribs.
This a great place. The food is good! The drinks are alittle bit higher. Monday karaoke is a hell of a good party. There are some great singers that come. See you there.
Great food. Bang bang shrimp is incredible. Need to put that on the regular menu. Maybe as a dinner served with rice??? Bartenders are on their game. Nice place for dinner, drinks and a little Keno.
Great atmosphere! They have a really good buffalo chicken salad & if you like french onion soup, theirs has a surprisingly nice twist to it. Great staff!
My fiancé and I have been going to cjs every weekend for about six months. Two weekends ago the security man came up to my fiancé and told him that if he didnt start spending money he wouldnt be allowed back, he even told him he was going to start charging him $3 for water. We go for the music and dancing and always buy a couple non alcoholic drinks while were there. This past Saturday night we got there and security was waiting at the door and tomy fiancé, not me, that HE is no longer allowed here according to management. We asked why and were told because HE doesnt spend money. We ask for the manager and were to he wouldnt go get him for us. Nothing wad ever said that I could go in just my fiancé. I looked it up on all their websites and even on the door and nothing says you have to spend money to come dancing. Something is not right here!!
Each and every time i go to these place of business Im giving a hard time about my clothes and shoes. Im not there to club, pick up chicks, let alone cause trouble. Their is always some rude bouncer at the door. Like they are ready to slam some black man to the floor. Im really starting to believe that is place is racist , an discriminative towards certain customers. I am a black male with a white wife. Every time I go to CJs they look through my wife and directly at me. They will never have to worry about me spending another dime and there is establishment. All i wanted to do was get some food. Now you can keep your food and horrible business.
Made a reservation with someone for the Nye party five days in advance and called to confirm the day off. When I got there they said unfortunately they couldnt get two tables together on the main floor. I told him I reserved for upstairs and he said they dont take reservations for the upstairs events. Ok, well my group goes upstairs and sits at one table and the waitress tells us we have to move cuz the table was RESERVED! Come to find out it was reserved for friends of the owner. Dont go here unless you know the owner, or youll get treated like second class citizens.
Great food, friendly staff
Severly understaffed, and poorly managed. I will not be returning, and I hope I dont get food poisoning! Went for lunch on a nice saturday afternoon. Sat out on the deck and was told that they cannot serve draft beer upstairs because the kegs were not hooked up, and she did not have time to run downstairs. Decided to walk downstairs to get a draft beer for myself, and still had to wait about 5 minutes because the bartender was no where to be found. After waiting longer that expected for our food we discovered some of the lettuce on one of our dishes was slimy and moldy. Althogh it was taken off our bill it should have never been served! This place was a joke, I wish we would have went somewhere else.
Our server was absolutely amazing. I cant remember her name but she opened up on Saturday and let us sit on the patio even though it was closed. She had the best personality ever.
Been going to CJs last 3 holiday seasons to celebrate a friends bday from work. This year was on Lions vs Cowboys night. All was fine. Had orderedfood and drinks for 2 hours. Were waiting for game to end and karaoke to start. All of a sudden mgr came over after I motioned to waitress and he told us he wouldnt serve us anymore. I asked why. He said people were smoking in the bathroom. I told him I dont even smoke.I do security and rule of thumb is guests at least get a warning and a reason. We werent even aware there was an issue bc we had a great waitress and all was fine. The night ended badly because he wouldnt even talk about what was actually wrong. I was polite and apologetic, even tho I had no idea what caused it. He was even less polite to my other coworker and her gf. Lets just say I think he had a racial issue and leave it at that. He was quite rude and I wont be back. He needs some training in conflict resolution without confrontation. This prejudiced manager ruined a perfectly good night bc all was fine until our coworker and her friend arrived - which says it all.I even handed him the tip for our waitress after his poor attitude.Ended up at the Irish Tavern and had the best Reubens ever!! Staff was polite and accommodating at IT.They were awesome ;)Highly recommend the ITI just read the reviews, glad to see I was right about them having racial issues!! They deserve to go out of business
My new FAVORITE place to eat. I had no idea what a hidden gem CJs kitchen was.. My daughter and I stopped in for lunch a couple weeks ago. Then My husband and I got the southwest chicken pasta and an order of the garlic parmesan traditional wings delivered by door dash last night... I expected it to be typical delivery food thats half the quality than it is in the restaurant .. I was wrong, LITERALLY so GOOD! We ate till we hurt.. I love CJs .. We are a 7 person family and look forward to bringing our business your way! Thanks for such a delicious, quality, late dinner!
The place has a TGI Fridays look. Menu matches that concept just even more poorly executed. Relatively poor beer choices, with 1 craft beer that is on the mass-marketed end of beer selection. Almost as to say Were in Michigan; nobody drinks that s***. Have your light lager and drink 12 of them like the rest of us. If your looking for a cocktail you better be happy with low end vodka and cranberry cocktail. That and we have pop. You can mix that with any liquor...Staff is friendly and they have a large rooftop deck.
Always good food and atmosphere
Got my credit card number ripped off in this resturant. Had not used my card in 6 months. Used it here and the next day had two online charges $60 and $70. Called the manager. Manager was rude and called me a liar. Eat here at your own risk- take cadh.
The pizza was super good! The staff was attentive and just great! Were not from the area but we will definitely go back!!
The food has always been very good at CJ’s. The meals are always served hot and delicious! The service is very friendly and welcoming. I strongly suggest this restaurant, especially if you’ve never been in.
Fried chicken club and french onion soup are delicious! My favorite comfort meal. They never disappoint
My boyfriend and I came here a couple days ago for the first time and it was a good time. The place was clean. The food was great. The service was excellent. We will be coming back!
Really dissappointing. They have a sign up outside saying all you can eat crablegs on Wednesdays. My friend and I drove 45 minutes to this place for the crablegs to find a tiny note inside saying they were not selling them anymore due to prices going up. At least take the sign down outside. Very misleading.
This place was nice and the food was good. Our server had only been there 3 days and she did a great job. She def got a 20%+ tip!
Today I stopped into CJs for a quick drink, I have stopped in there many time for the crab legs on wed and always had a great time. I always enjoy the restaurant a lot, but today the bartender was phenomenal. she was funny friendly and had every one at the totally taken care of. The entire bar was having a great time and she was on top of the tables too, Im impressed. Sarah WAS AWESOME I can say without a doubt that I will be back to visit cjs and sarah again
Ordered combo appetizer and calamari, Luke warm when we got it. Tasted poorly , waitress did not seem to care , service was horribly slow and draft beer horribly overpriced. Paid bill and left. I do not plan on returning.
Had a large group of us up top. Staff was great. We all had a great time.
Extremely LONG wait to get service. Waited 40 minutes to get a drink in the upper deck area. The down stairs part for eating was great service.
Beware of the all you can eat crab legs! Its only when its convenient for them. We drive all the way out here to have to sit and watch others eat the crab legs and are told that they just decided to stop. So we get none!
I take the family to dinner once a week at cjs. Crispy land sea platter is hands down the best meal. Service is 11/10 stars. Hands down best long islands/purple rain!
Came for the crab legs on a Wednesday. Unfortunately, they didn’t have any? But they were definitely serving them. Server told us to call ahead next time to make sure, ummm, yeah, we did.
