Extremely sincere, knowledgeable, and caring. Much Thank You to the Doctor, the friendly receptionist: (Markus), the sweet/helpful Eric, and everyone else i did not name. Very appreciative of the great experiences! (easy parking makes this even better ;)
It took over an hour for someone to actually pick up the phone. You could call back and hopefully get a better connection. And I told her that I wasnt going to wait for over an hour again. At that point I was told that they were not taking new members and that there were no appointments available. So I would have to be put on a waiting list after filling out all of their paperwork. It does seem that they should spend more money on personnel and programs, Than they do on the physical appearance of the buildings in which they reside.
I called earlier today and booked the last appointment. I waited an hour - cause usually this center is VERY behind and I figured since I was the last appointment, it might take a minute. I didn’t want to bother anyone cause everyone there always looks so stressed and rushed. It was my fault for waiting an HOUR when I finally went up to the front desk and asked and was told my appointment was canceled even though I signed in on the computer. This is the problem with not having personal interaction upon arrival. I wasted an hour not to mention driving across town during rush hour all because I need my medicine which I left not having got as well as having to pay for parking for nothing. What a colossal waste of time.
Shoutout to handsome bearded desk man and the nurse/doctor for making me feel safe on one of the worst mornings i have had in a while.
Called and let me know my apt was canceled 20 min before I was supposed to be there.
I really hate leaving a negative review of the center merely out of principle, but surely, something internal has to be done to fix the lack of customer service and accessibility to healthcare. Getting an appointment is such a disappointing experience; agents rarely pick up and securing an appointment is a back and forth game of being on hold, leaving a call back number, being called back only to be transferred to another department. Most frustrating was my experience today, where I left a call back, got called back, transferred and the line disconnects. I call back and when I get through am told I need to call the correct number. Thumbs all the way down. And the apathetic tone in the staffs voices says it all.
Have been trying to schedule an appointment since last Friday. No one replies to several emails and when I call for the 3rd time in one day to finally get one scheduled with a supervisor it ends up getting cancelled. Im told Ill be emailed so Im back at square one and likely being given the run around. This is the service poor people get though I suppose.
Pros: Full screenings offered for all STDs, including the HIV NAAT test which shows anything with only a 10 day window instead of 3 month window. This is far superior to the rapid test offered at Out of the Closet. Staff is very friendly, warm and knowledgable. In this sense, they make you feel extremely welcome. Wait time is not bad at all, even for walk-in, and they take appointments, very cool. Counselors are great, and so is desk staff. Everyone took time to answer any questions that I had and made sure that I was aware of all my options. There was no rudeness whatsoever (which is uncommon in some government-funded jobs), just eagerness to listen and help. As far as services and warmth, this place does a FANTASTIC job. They also offer validated parking for $2.00 for 2 hours below the building, but you have to ask or you wouldnt know this, now you know :)Cons: The WAITING ROOM is really poorly designed and feels way too claustrophobic. It gave me a lot of anxiety due to being so narrow, crammed and overcrowded with no personal space, and being backed by a big glass window where everyone outside below can see you. There were also several badly behaving dogs that I couldnt get away from due to the lack of space and proximity of all of us squished together. One was even trying to bite every other person that walked by. Fix this and the place could be awesome!
The genuine service, and concern by the staff here is truly amazing. Center provides FREE HIV/STD testing. Walk-ins accepted, but its suggested to make an appointment. Everyone from the front desk, to counselors, to their physicians always provide a safe non-judgmental environment.Know your status !
Terrible. The guy at the front desk with the skull ring, is so obnoxiously loud when he asks you “okay are you experiencing any symptoms?” “Do you currently have any STI’s?” Like where is the confidentiality? Where is the discretion? Absolutely not okay. He was very condescending about the whole thing. Eventually they denied me because they were understaffed....so why would you put on the website that you accept walk ins? You definitely don’t accept walk ins!
I’ve gone to them for years because they are the only service really available for poor trans people. I think the lack of urgency sucks and I think this place sucks. It could really use an overhaul where it’s resources are being used to train them or hire more doctors. Also it’s really stupid to have 3-4 different primary doctors in 2/3 years. Like who runs this place?
Staff is rude and unhelpful in general.I will never recommend this place to anyone if you can find other place go somewhere else.but never try this place as your first choice, or second.
Clinic doesnt have its own pharmacy. First, Pep clinical manager sent the prescription to the wrong pharmacy. So i have to wait the next day 11am to have the script sent to CVS. When I went to CVS, they cant dispense the PEP medication coz the script says 27 days (27 pills) and the bottle comes in 30 pills, CVS have to reconfirm the script from this clinic before it can be dispensed. Today is friday and it would skip past 72 hours before i can take my 2nd dose, i would have to wait til monday for these things to go on, OR i would have to go to emergency department to get my pep pills. Well, this is the main reason why i went to lgbt weho for, now im being sent back to emergency. This place needs rethinking. People who needs PEP treatment should go to hollywood branch instead. Have done it few times in that branch without problems. Weho branch is a pain. Go here for regular sti hiv testing but not for emergency pep. Never
I’ve been calling over a week now trying to get an appointment so I can start on PrEP. I’ve been on hold up to 18 minutes. I’ve left my number for call back.....nada zip zilch. Once someone answered the phone, took all my information then transferred me to the “prep hotline”...again no answer no call back.BTW My gut told me trying to get services here would be a waste of time
This is the best place to get tested. Yes, it can be a bit difficult to get ahold of the staff sometimes, but as a gay man, it is well worth coming here. Spare yourself the embarrassment and scrutiny of going to Planned Parenthood or a Government facility.
Ive literally Never had a bad experience here...
I wont ever again come to this location I had to pay for parking it was only $3 but still the other facility thats on Schrader boulevard they have their own parking and you dont have to pay.
It is horrible service. They are not professional, especially RNs. If you wanna make an appointment you should wait on the line 40 min. i am so disappointed its not cool.
Wow, I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Incredibly welcoming and supportive, Im so glad theyre here, doing what they do. Im immensely grateful for the kindness they offer.

The place is awesome. Free HIV and STD test. The staff is very friendly. The guy who helped me is Anthony. He is so sweet.
Friendly staff, testing is done for free, as are certain treatments. Fast and reliable service, they really do care, despite what certain reviews might say. Thank you LGBT Center
Always a good, quick and helpful staff. They are all sweet (unless you give them attitude) and I really feel welcomed and cared for.
