Downtown Massage

This was my first ever massage, and I can’t believe I’ve been missing out! I booked the 90 minute pamper yourself special online, which is 45 minutes foot/head and neck massage, 45 minutes body massage.The booking process online was super easy. The platform they use isn’t the best at integration, but on their end it’s amazing. I originally booked a 6pm massage at 3:30pm the same day. I got a confirmation text and got ready to go. I got a call around 4:30 by an extremely kind worker there profusely apologizing but someone was starting a 90 minute massage at 5, so could I come at 6:30? This is in no way a reflection of the business, and I really appreciated the communication from them.I got there and was greeted by the front desk person, who got me all checked in. They walked me around to a semi private area that had like low to the ground massage tables and was told to take off my shoes.Immediately they brought me a large bucket of hot water to start soaking my feet in. I just want to point out that the bucket had like a sanitary plastic wrap in it that they throw away in between each customer. Before they had me put my feet in they had me check the water temp. It was PERFECT!! My massage therapist named Sunny came over after a couple minutes of soaking my feet and asked me what I wanted to focus on and what level of pressure I wanted. (I’m a baby so I chose medium.)He had me lay back and covered my body (I am still in my street clothes at this point), with towels. He then got to work on massaging my head, neck, and arms. After my feet had soaked he massaged my feet and legs. He was always checking in and I appreciated that a lot.After the first 45 minutes of my session was over I was lead back to a private room with a massage table and a cubby to put my belongings. He told me to undress and stepped out. I asked how far to undress and he very politely said “everything”, and stepped out. Me being a dummy and at my first massage I only removed my shirt and shorts. I got a little braver and unclasped my bra too lol.After a couple minutes he knocked to see if I was ready. He came in and I told him I had left my underwear on and he didn’t look down on me one bit. I was completely covered with a light blanket during this part with the oil except in the areas he was actively working on.He worked around my nervousness to completely undress and made me feel SO at ease! The ambiance of the building was so nice with music and some dark red lights. At the end when I got dressed I wasn’t pressured to tip at all, which I’ve seen people been pressed to do in reviews of OTHER establishments.I will be going back as much as possible. I feel so relaxed and like a weight was lifted off my shoulders. If you are going for your first massage and are nervous, I SINCERELY recommend this place. With I could give it more than five stars.

My fiancé treated us to a 90 min combo feet and full body couples massage. The experience was so incredible!! Our bodies feel so relaxed and got total muscle tension relief! We both work 12 hour shifts on our feet and we strongly recommend this parlor for therapists’ technique, professionalism and relaxing environment. Worth every penny!

My massage was amazing!! The guy was very strong and effective.However they were very weird at the end when I paid, Saying I did not tip enough. Pressure me to tip more. It definitely was worth a 20% tip, however they were very strange about it and I was confused by what they were getting at. Its too bad. I was looking forward to going back for more reasonably priced amazing massages, but not if theyre gonna be weird like that with me. A tip is NOT required. If they want more money for the masseuses they should just charge for the massage up front... Rather than making everybody uncomfortable. Wont recommend to anyone.

Cant beat the price! We are visiting from CA and had been sitting on the bus for a long time so we randomly stopped by. We had the couples massage and the therapists were good. However the only thing that sucked a lot was that one of the therapists kept getting up to go answer the phone and call back clients while using one hand to kind of massage my partner. They were literally answering calls while massing us and it threw off the calm ambiance. But the massages were good and we still left the spot feeling realigned just not exactly a relaxing time 100%. Would still go back knowing this because the price is so good.

Coco and her partner I’m sorry I don’t remember his name , were very nice and took care of mine and my husbands couple massage for us today. The most relaxing massage we have ever had. You will leave feeling so relaxed , won’t remember how to get back to your hotel ! 😂We may be coming back before heading back home. Thank you both again for a wonderful massage !

I love going to Downtown Massage for excellent, affordable, deep pressure massages. They are thorough, efficient, and respectful! I’ve been in several times and brought my parents in when they were traveling through and they loved their experience. I’ll be back!

Wonderful couples massage. The man that worked on me seemed to know where I needed help the most. Nice deep massage.Was a little turned off that they asked for a tip after. We had already left one, but find it to be discourteous to ask for one.

Read good reviews on their massages. Called and asked to come in. They said they could get me in at 1:30 (or a few mins after). I arrived at 1:35 (via Uber) and they said it would be 20 min. Unfortunately had to Uber back to airport. I completely understand they were booked up but wish they had better communicated that before I wasted money on two Ubers.

I stopped in on a whim with a sore back and Sunny proceeded to give me the best massage Ive ever had. I tend to be pretty prissy about spas and pay through the nose at places like Ten Thousand Waves, but Sunnys massage was the best Ive had in years...maybe ever. You have to give it a try. No turning back.

It was one of the reflexology massages. I had the man both times and I had a bad car accident almost ten years ago and I felt like I was reset after the massage.

I had a very great massage here today, however I paid for an hour and they stopped at 50 minutes. While trying to pay we were shamed for not tipping enough and very rudely pressured into tipping 20%. We already paid more than the price they initially quoted us. On top of that they expected a 20% tip?! This is crazy; a tip is complimentary and not mandatory. If you expect 20% extra include it in the price so customers know what to expect. Due to the rude service at the end I will certainly not come back!

My friend & I came here after our hike around Sandia peak. I also tweaked my shoulder a few weeks ago from working out so it was also bothering me prior to the massage. The lady and her coworker were really nice. I would suggest to call ahead of time because during my massage several people called wanting to drop in. There was a male masseuse and the lady. The lady massaged my friend & I got the male. I was a little surprised at first, but thought this was probably the best way to go as there would be less chance of something suspicious happening. They did such a great job! We got the 60 min whole body massage. They got every part we requested and also found additional knots I didn’t know existed. I would highly recommend going there after a hard workout.

While traveling through New Mexico, I decided to book a massage because I had overdone it while hiking and had sore muscles in several areas. For the simple purpose of helping with that - I was pleased with the massage and felt much better afterwards. However, the atmosphere and experience is sketchy at best. Even though I was in a “private” room, I could hear everything going on in the rooms around me which does little for relaxation. The therapist kept leaving the room or talking over the walls. The massage table didn’t have formal bedding/sheets and it was different forms of paper on the table. No one really said what to expect or gave any directions, and even though I’m not very picky I was a bit uncomfortable the entire time. Overall, it was a good price, they were able to get me in right away, the location was good, and nothing terrible happened, but I think if I were to go back and do it again, I would have preferred to pay a little more, wait a day or two and feel more comfortable with the experience elsewhere.

Kevin gave the most amazing one hour deep tissue. It came with both essential oil and hot stone. Kevin asked where my problem areas were, not only did he hit those but continued with a foot and head massage to boot. I came in pain and left being able to move without grimicing from sciatica pain! If youre looking for a massage that will not empty the bank but leave you feeling brand new, come have a treatment with Kevin! Youll be glad you did!

This place is fantastic. It is clean and has a great team wielding the ancient wisdom of Chinese massage! I have been 4 times and had three different employees give me a massage. Each one has been great. My go-to guy is Mac. Fantastic deep tissue skills; respect to the master!I travel a good bit and have had many massages in different towns/states. This one is my favorite. If you live in Albuquerque, you need to check this place out. If you are visiting, it’s a safe and reputable place to come in for a massage. They are open late which works great to fit in a massage after a long day of travel and work.

Ive visited Downtown Massage on several occasions over the past 2 years and have never been disappointed!My last visit was with Kevin & it was one of the best spur of the moment massages that Ive ever had.Im so thankful to have this service available day & night when Im in the Albuquerque area.

Other than uncomfortable beds, noise of other clients (snoring not included), short transparent dirty sheets, waiting time (even tho we had a reservation), my male therapist kept going out for no reason, never have I ever heard complaints about amount of tips until yesterday and he tried arguing with my husband saying we should give him at least $50 extra ( massage for both was $110+ $10 tax which we never saw a check of). And even tho I love massage and get it every week I will neither come back nor recommend this place even to the worst enemy

My particular masseuse was petite and very strong (as requested) at performing the massage. The heat stones were an amazing touch. Felt realigned and back to me after the session. Its Definently worth stopping by.

Tony did any amazing job and was able to target every spot that was bothering me. He asked if his pressure was okay several times to make sure I was comfortable. 90 minutes was well worth the money. My husband and I had a couple massage, 60 Minutes, our own private room & I will admit hands down one of the best places in Albuquerque for massages. HIGHLY recommend.

This place is a gem. We were just passing through town and wanted some Quick RnR before starting the next 9 hour portion of our drive. FANTASTIC! Weve paid for really expensive massages and place is totally on par if not better than some of them.Both our masseuses had such a spot on intuition on the areas we were feeling a lot of tension and pain. We didnt even have to tell them what to do or were to focus. Both were very skilled and very in tune to what our bodies needed and had a perfect level of pressure, deep but not too painful.Definitely keeping this place in mind when we pass through again.

I have had May massages in my life. Benny at Downtown Foot and body Massage is the best massage therapist in town! He is very strong and really has the ability to intuitively know what knots are more pressing then others. He’s helped my planters fasciitis get better. In addition to stretching towards the end of my 90 min massage’s. I highly recommend him. Best kept secret in Alb.

I bought the one hour deluxe massage through Groupon for 53.00$. I followed the instructions and called ahead to make an appointment and let them know I was using Groupon. When I arrived a man and woman were in the lobby. I let them know I called and made an appointment. I pulled up my Groupon and showed them the redeeming barcode. They told me that it was no good, that couldnt use the barcode that was sent to me in an email from Groupon. I was confused and let them know this was the email I received after paying through Groupon. The man raised his voice and yelled at me as if it was my fault. He kept saying it was no good. He made me so uncomfortable I began to cry and told him there was no reason to speak to me like that. He told me to call manager so I did. They woman on the phone asked me to send her a screenshot of my purchase which I did. She said she could not find my order despite me sending all the necessary information to her. I ended up leaving because I was so uncomfortable with the lack of respect and transparency from this establishment. Never ever will I return.

Massage was okay. Was told couple massage would be $55 each over the phone. Upon checking out, I was told $60. This is a +$10 difference and I was going to make a fuss. The clerk who happened to be my masseuse made a huge deal and ridiculously uncomfortable situation by demanding we use the ATM and pay with cash. Once I presented the cash needed he picked up money waved it and said “NO TIP!?!?🤬”. I went ahead a put an extra $10 down to call it a day and he kept trying to force me to take more money out of the ATM. What on earth. I will never be back and would suggest to stay away due to confrontational and outrageous behavior when checking out. I am sure this is driving business away at an alarming rate. Yikes!

Only rate it four out of five because there arent locker rooms/showers. Although they do wipe you down with hot towels afterwards to get the oil off! I really enjoy the cleanliness and professional atmosphere here. Its very relaxing, the massages are fantastic, the price point is great, and the staff are friendly (and again, professional). Highly recommend. I dont think enough people give this place a try. Do it!!

I recently had a hot stone massage and it was absolutely amazing! The warmth of the stones combined with the skilled hands of the therapist melted away all of my stress and tension. I highly recommend it.

Pretty alright massage, but:* we made an appointment a week in advance; when we arrived, they said they didn’t know what we were talking about* we booked a couple’s massage but only one masseuse was available, so we had to get separate massages* they charged over double what they offered when the appointment was madeOur masseuse was pretty good, but highly unprofessional and frankly ripped us off. Buyer beware

I have chronic back pain and have tried many different treatments, but hot stone massage has been the most effective. The heat from the stones penetrates deep into my muscles and provides lasting relief.

This are Real Massages ! Mary was amazing. She did a full body massage that felt so custom to my distressed needs. I had euphoric laughter and amazing pain relief .It was so welcoming and relaxing.Also Leo did my sisters body. He was so precise and amazing on my sisters body which has a really bad back and hips. The hot stones message was such an experience that I will never forget. I feel like gravity has been taken off ! I AM definitely recommend and bringing friend and family!!

The most uncomfortable full body massage I’ve ever had. Was taken past the linen closet into a dark room in the back. Was saturated with excess amounts of oil to the point that after the massage it had to all be wiped off. It felt like I was being rubbed and slapped and pushed on the entire time. Like it was being rushed and they didn’t know what they were doing. The covers were completely taken off of my body midway through the massage without permission instead of just the Body part that was being worked on. The masseuse kept leaving the room randomly. I felt exposed and uncomfortable the entire time. Not professional. I would never go back.

Wow! What a great value. The combo massage I received from Leo was wonderful: back, arms, neck, face and oh the legs and feet! Delightful! Everytime weve walked in, weve been able to get a quality massage immediately. I highly recommend for any one, especially visitors needing a break and reset from tourist activities or business conventions.

Come in for a cheap massage, leave with an expensive bed bug problem. This place is dirty. The massage was hard and uncomfortable. Left sore and later that night found remains of bed bugs in the clothes I wore. Staff didn’t offer to hang clothes, did not speak English or bother to shake the bedsheets. It was a horrible experience. I will never go back or recommend this place. Go with caution if you must. I read some reviews of this place giving it 5 stars, this place is cheap for a reason. Buyer beware.

I have only had positive experiences, and each time is better than the last. Seriously the best massages I have ever gotten. They get knots out of places that I didnt even know were tied up. Recently, post surgery, my shoulder was freezing up to where I couldnt raise my arm above my head. One combo session with Mary, and Im flexible again. Will definitely be back.

They were very good at the massage. Focusing on all the needs my body needed. I went in with a tense upper left shoulder blade and it feels looser. They were very professional and I would definitely be back and recommend them to friends and family, and anyone else! 🙂

First time I went was absolutely amazing second time not so much took my dad for a massage after she over charged me the price ( tip not included) and because of this I was gonna tip less then I normally would. Had my card went to put my tip for $10 she told me No erased it then told me to tip 15. Restarted it went to tip $10 again she said No 15 it was a good massage and proceeded to erase my tip again and made me put 15. I just let it happen because it was a gift to my dad and I had my 7 year old brother with me but I am very disappointed

I have been here frequently for foot and body massage. I know it may seem seedy because its downtown and has long hours, however, I trust this place and the staff. I never had any problems with bugs or the understanding what I need. The staff is polite, the place is clean and the massages are wonderful.

It was a great massage and all I can say is I wish I would have booked a longer time. Sixty mins just wasnt long enough.

WOW! I deal with severe chronic back pain and my massage was absolutely amazing! When asked if I wanted soft, medium, or hard, I said “very hard.” I received my massage from Leo and it was by far one of the best massages I’ve ever had. 100% recommend! Thank you!

I absolutely love this place. I have got massages all over the world and Jack is on my top 3. He’s a very a strong guy and tends to perform the deep tissue massage. He is very intuitive and professional. Be prepared to talk to him via a phone app, since he’s Chinese and hardly any English.The place is very quiet and super clean and prices very affordable. I’ve been there a dozen of times and highly recommended!

This was by far THE best massage I have ever had and Ive had a lot of massages. Perfect amount of strength to work out those kinks but enough softer technique to be very relaxing. This was my first time to Downtown Foot Massage but I can guarantee Ill be back again and again and again

I paid through massagebook . The manager emailed me to confirm my two reservations a few days before. Then the day of I called because I was lost and they yelled at me on the phone saying dont use the massagebook because it charges them $20 (I didnt know this and it was my 3rd time using massage book). And I confirmed again my two person reservations when we talk on the phone. Once we arrive they take our temperatures and we put hand sanitizer on. And we explain who we are and I give my name for the reservations and state how we confirmed via email and the phone. My friend and I get okay massages. And upon walking out they lock us in the building. Saying we still need to pay. I show them my two separate emails with different masseuses and two different prices. I had also just received my receipts a couple minutes before this and I show those emails. The manager doesnt believe me then calls someone on the phone who confirms we already paid then he says okay you can go and unlocks the door. Would not recommend this place at all!!! Super unprofessional

All massage therapists here are phenomenal and the business is accessible for my power wheelchair! I treated my mom to their combo, $40 for a 1 hour back and footmassage, and she said best massage ever.I have severe spinal cord inflammation and most treatments incorporate some kind of Thai, passive stretching thats great for musculoskeletal pain as well.Their location (and new layout on the ground floor!) are a welcome addition to Downtown. Cant think of a better place for massage, as no appointment is necessary, which is really convenient.

Getting a foot massage was an awesome way to spend my lunch hour! A little awkward at first since I didn’t know what to expect. I’m used to well lit pedicure places. This was a low lighting, relaxing, semi private massage.My biggest complaint was the music selection. Classical piano tunes for the duration... would have preferred streams, waves or nature sounds. Regardless of the tunes... I will go back.

What an amazing treat! I scheduled a 90 minute deep tissue massage and was MORE than satisfied! How can you beat a $90 cost!?!? Amazing service!!! ❤️

It’s my affordable treat-myself-right go-to.My current review: the business moved from upstairs to downstairs. Bad move! Although, the massage is still nice, it is negated completely by nasty smells in this downstairs space. Seriously, these smells are embarrassingly bad for a massage business. The old swamp cooler pads make the new space smell musty & moldy, whereas the upstairs location smelled like a spa. Furthermore, I could smell a urine odor coming from the bathrooms while I was getting a massage. 😟I really had to use the bathroom and immediately regretted it. It smelled horrible! 🤮What happened?! How can the staff allow this to go on? This business used to be a diamond in the rough. I doubt I will return, if the business remains in this space.

Update - 6-14-19After having hundreds of these throughout the country (traveling for work) i just received the worst massage ever.Asking the gentleman 4 times to stop trying to adjust my back (like i came for a chiropractic visit) and begging for less scratching and less pressure on my neck and rib cage, I finally gave up and just walked out.To top it off. They stole my socks 🧦 - no one has ever taken my socks!!!!I now have them at a 1 ⭐️- ill come back in a month and give them a chance again, because every biz deserves another chance.Just know there is definitely some inconsistency & sock theft going on this month!************************Don’t let my poorly lit photos turn you off. This place is $$$$$$$$! I travel to every state for my company and I’m always looking for one of these. So in the last 15 years I’ve seen many.Peter (I never ask for names 😂) actually knew what he was doing and at this price point that’s hard to find. Very well done Sir!Don’t hesitate to pay these guys a visit. Remember you’re downtown and in the evening you need to be cool with that but during the business day......... go for it! If I was local to the area I would see this place weekly

Kevin did a very good job, he does an incredible deep massage that takes any pain away. They are very professional and I enjoyed their work!

We have come for years here. Today the therapist was upset with a $20 tip (2 hour massage). His attitude was unpleasant as he explained that he was tired and it wasn’t enough. We will not be back.

Downtown Foot Massage was professional, reasonably priced and knowledgeable about massage. Love this place - its so easy to get an appointment and the employees (maybe owners?) are so kind and great at what they do. Prices are awesome - get the combo foot and body massage. Its kind of hard to find - just make sure you pay attention to the tiny door!

Downtown foot massage is a hidden gem in Albuquerque! Seriously felt like a new person when I left and prices were affordable. I have tried other spots in abq but you can tell they really care and have experienced masseurs. Give them a try, it will be well worth it!

Great massage place in downtown ABQ. Same quality massages as more expensive spas for a fraction of the price. Really nice staff- since the prices are so low I tip 40-50% as the staff really depends on the tips. Highly recommend!

Purchased Groupon and made appointment as instructed. Came in for the appointment and women doing reception was very rude. She was said she is the main person who answers the phone and insistent I didnt call. I confirmed phone number and time of call and she was still sure I didnt make an appointment. She didnt offer to reschedule or get me in as soon as possible. Luckily Groupon did refund my money. Also the prices listed on the Groupon and Business website are conflicting. I was about to pay too much for services listed cheaper on their website. Groupon should be cheaper, right?

I have been going to this place for over 5 years now. I have seen difference Massage therapist go and come. Today i had Leo & i can say he was the absolute best i have EVER had. I love love this place. Best in Albuquerque and i have been to Everywhere. Always the BESTWe

I went here for a massage I got nothing but that they had someone that does not have a liscence to massage me I was in pain the next week had to go to a professional that does not tend to illegal massage therapy the guy that massaged me here at the Asian massage looked like a gangster off the street and did my body more harm than good. I found out they are not liscence from urban escape body works and massage were I got the best massage I ever payed for dont pay this place for illegal practice they can hurt you if they are not licensed for massage therapy.make sure to ask for a liscence before massage therapy I hope I saved someone from the experience. And I left with bed bugs and now have a weird rash from here.

That was the worst massage ever. Some creepy man pinched every nerve in my feet and legs, then pounded on my entire body. I kept telling him ouch, that hurts. He also took the sheet off of me ten times, and it was cold in there. I had to tell him to stop. Worst massage ever!

So I needed to get in somewhere like that day and this place seemed like a sure thing. It had enough reviews that said good things. There seemed like a lack of communication but that seemed way better in the long run. I didn’t not need to tell the amazing girl anything she just found everything wrong. I will say I left very happy. It was exactly what I needed.

Great massage...was pleasantly surprised. Think the smadering of poor reviews may be due to this not being a new age type place...just a great massage at a good price. Will go there again when I am next in AN A.

Loved my massage the only thing that they demanded I pay a tip of min $10 to $15 each went in as a couple tip should be optional no wear did it say tip must be paid.

Massage was good. But they didnt speak a word of English. Kinda hard to ask for what you want when they cant understand you. Also they kinda stunk
