Aura Day Spa

We had a party for a mother’s/daughter day celebration on Saturday May 11th. The ladies were so accommodating and helpful to us all. We were all able to get manicures and pedicures in a timely manner without feeling rushed. I highly recommend the spa!

Vy did a SNS manicure & pedicure last Thursday 6/13 and these photos of my nails were taken Friday 6/14 and Saturday 6/15 just 1 & 2 days after I spent $144 + tip to have them done. My cuticles look horrible and the top coat was cracked on all nails in less than 24 hours and on 1 nail the SNS completely cracked. I was busy Friday and Saturday and didnt have time to stop by the salon to have them repaired. By Sunday 2 SNS nails were cracked so I stopped by for repairs. Another employee begrudgingly fixed the 2 nails and got up and walked away. NOTHING was done to fix the cracked top coat on all of my nails, but it was late and I was pissed so I left.I returned today to have the SNS removed and replaced with gel polish because it looked horrible as 2 MORE nails had cracked and the faulty top coat that was not fixed Sunday was still on them.The manicure Vy gave me just a week ago was clearly not done well as you can see in the photos less than 24 hours after it looked like I needed a manicure. Not to mention the products used were faulty and didnt hold up. So today, to have all of the FAULTY WORK corrected I was charged $42 + tip and given a loud & rude attitude by Vy who said to me, “….its because I fixed them twice!” Not only was this inaccurate but UNACCEPTABLE to speak to a customer this way! I came in ONCE on Sunday to have this fixed and they werent, NOT TWICE!I also noticed today, while I sat next to Vy servicing another customer, the care she took to ensure the customer’s SNS manicure was PERFECT! So perfect Vy even staged and photographed them! All the while I’m sitting there having my manicure re-done….. 😡🤬😡I’ve CANCELLED any existing appointments on her books, I WILL NOT BE BACK! ✌🏾

I LOVE this place. I followed my nail lady, and now friend, Rose from another salon when she came to Aura. What a wonderful atmosphere of very friendly and personable people. Both the employees and the clientele are kind and welcoming. Rose is (still) a genius with dip manicures. I wear my natural nails longer now, and in a coffin shape, and she always rocks it.The layout of the salon is airy and open, lots of natural light and beautiful interior design. Many pedicure chairs, so Ive never actually seen anyone having to wait. Candy and drinks for free with service. Highly recommend Aura. All the ladies are so sweet.

I gifted a manicure for a friend’s birthday. She had her nails done on a Sunday, by that night 2 acrylic nails were cracked with zero contact to the nails. By Tuesday, 4 nails cracked. The staff was very rude instead of accommodating and apologetic for the poor job they had done. They insisted she must have been rough with her hands/ nails which was not the case. I’ve been going here for a couple years but will no longer go here or refer anyone here. There is definitely better customer service, better quality and plenty of other options in the area.

Ive given this place so many opportunities to do better. Unfortunately, I now understand why this spot is not that busy often. The first two tries with this salon, I got pedicures. The polish applied to my toes sucked and two days later, my feet were peeling at the bottom (which has never happened before). The polish they use must be cheap because it comes off a week later. I wanted to give them one more try, so I got a full set manicure AND a pedicure for my birthday. The pedicure was the same as described above. The full set (powder) was so thick and looked fake af. When I said they looked too thick the nail tech (lynn) said she will file, but didnt make much of a difference. I was so disappointed. When I went back to get the full set removed, I was made fun of for the color I chose. I spent well over $150 for all of these services and it was not worth it. Never going back.

My friend and i went for a full spa day-mani, pedi, facial, massage. The whole team was very nice and Gina who did the facial and massage totally rocked!! I was also pleasantly surprised to see a wide open space decorated with tasteful artwork and thriving greenery all around. Next time i visit from CA, i will make this my first stop!

I visited this establishment based on a great review, but I am disappointed because three of my nails broke within a week and a half to two weeks after getting a full set. Ive never had my nails break so easily from simple tasks. I am very dissatisfied with the service. I initially thought this would be my go-to place, but I will not be returning for any services.

I initially went there to get my nails and feet done. However, I couldnt help but notice how eager they were to persuade me into adding more services to my appointment. I decided to try their waxing service as well. Unfortunately, during the process, I noticed that the technician used a razor instead of a tweezer, which we all know can be harmful to the face.The combination of their desperate attempts to upsell and their lack of attention to detail was off putting. Its disheartening when a business prioritizes adding services over providing quality service and taking the time to ensure customer satisfaction.

This was my first time at this salon! They are currently requiring customers to wear a face mask, wash their hands on arrival, and facilitate social distancing in the salon. This salon is fairly new and is so pretty and it feels very luxurious! I’m always skeptical of salons cause it’s always hit or miss but this one is definitely a hit!! I got a regular pedicure with Anne and my feet have never looked so good! She took her time and you could tell she was very particular in everything she did. Tina did my dipped manicure. She was just as precise and very knowledgeable. I’ll be coming here every time in town!

Initial Experience:My original review was 1-star because they made me cry. I had a wedding to go to. I showed what I wanted; they did something else. One of the nail techs proceeded to talk trash in her language while the one doing my nails tried to shush her. I quietly cried in frustration because I could feel her vitriol and lack of empathy, and no one acknowledged or apologized.Balanced Edit:The shop is clean and organized. I like that appointments can be booked online and confirmation texts/emails are sent.Hanna gave me a 5-star pedicure experience.Also, Rose is a perfectionist, so though my nails werent what I came in for, they were beautifully done. Rose even lined up my fingers to ensure the shape and length were uniform.As for the meanie, I leave her to God.I would go back for Hanna and Rose. 💗

Very solid nail spa with a great atmosphere and reasonable prices. I’ve been here a few times and it’s always a nice experience. Not the fanciest with all the frills but I really enjoyed this place and I think it’s probably my favorite in its price range.

Andy is awesome he’s been my nail tech for a few years and I never have any complaints I’m always satisfied with the results.

Nail tech was friendly and helpful. The woman who checked me out was not. I paid for the spa pedicure ($49) which states “paraffin to soften the hand with feet massage” - be aware this means nothing. There is no paraffin wax or extra paraffin step, it’s just a way to get extra money from you. When I mentioned the lack of paraffin upon check out, the woman argued with me that it wasn’t included. I showed her the menu and she (rudely) explained they didn’t mean paraffin wax. I said their advertising wasn’t clear, and she insisted that it was my own misunderstanding. This is my second negative experience here, and I will not be returning.

Looking for that gorgeous, spacious, clean, peaceful nail salon that actually feels like a spa? This is it ladies. I usually try to keep places like this to myself so they don’t get too crowded but this place is new and I really want it to stay open! It’s just really a beautiful setting. I’ve gotten tips, manicure, pedicure, dip nails and they have all been gorgeous and have lasted forever. The dip nails they do are impervious- I do dishes every day, constant hand washing, I even tend to chew on my nails and they stayed flawless. The last tips I got stayed in through a week of outdoor field work and still looked great. Highly recommend!

I guess the Gentlemans Facial is for women??For when I tried to make an appointment for 55 minute Gentleman Facial, I was told they dont do men. When I asked who the Gentleman Facial was for she doubled down with, We dont do men and before I could finish saying thank you and bye, she had hung up already.Was rude to say the least over a question, and to the incorrect listing of the services they provide. Still really confused who the Gentlemans Facial is for lolCan say Im not buying any more gift cards for my girl, my mother, or the couple friends I treat to a spa day from time to time and well I didnt get a chance to become a customer to lose, they did lose four others by proxy.

I have never received such rudeness and aggression as a regular client. The website states they open at 11 on Sundays and I made my appointment 3 weeks ago. I forgot the time but knew it was when they open so when I arrived at 11 I was chastised publicly in front of clients and the attendant who I believe is the manager yelled that I wasted her time. I will never go there again and would suggest they treat their clients with more respect and less contempt. I will tell my large group of friends and family to avoid this place at all costs . And they charge more . Good luck I’ll bet you are out of business in a year .

The customer service and the job they do is amazing. Vy did my wedding nails and they came out beautiful and lasted for a long time. I blindly trusted her as it was my first time coming here so I’m grateful she did such a beautiful job.I definitely found my new to go nail place.

I had a horrible, rushed experience with Annie and another staff member. I got a gel manicure and pedicure and my toes looked so bad I had to ask them to redo a few nails because they were streaky. The gel polish was uneven and two nails chipped the next day. I also dont know how she cut my cuticles but they have been peeling ever since. This is not my first time getting gel nails but it is certainly the last time I go here.

Owner tried to charge $55 for the nails below when I asked for a classic manicure with clear gloss and acrylic removal.Nail technician said she added a layer of gel to my nails to add strength to them which is why the total is $55. Please just look at the photo attached, outrageous to charge $55 for that.Owner trued to humiliate me and said if I wasn’t going to pay then have the gel removed. I agreed and sat back down, it took less than a minute to remove the “gel” off my nails and be charged $20.Aside from the price the service was terrible as well, if you’re POC don’t come here you won’t be treated well.

Such a great experience! Everybody was very friendly and they gave me plenty of time to decide the color (I’m very picky) and were so kind and patient. They payed great attention to detail also. Love my nails!

Went for a set of acrylic and a pedi, and Mai and Hana did a fabulous job! The salon was very clean and the staff were super friendly. It’s a great place to get pampered!

Vy is amazing and really takes pride in her work. I left with perfect nails and very relaxed from her great massage. Will be back! 💕

So, Ive never had a pedicure of any kind until today. My wife talked me into going along with her to Aura (her usual spot for pedis) and I will admit -- Aura is GREAT and has a completely welcoming and accommodating staff! Haley conducted my pedi, and she was WONDERFUL, making me feel completely at ease for my first pedi ever! I cannot more highly recommend Aura for your spa-related needs!

I absolutely love this place. It is clean, offers an abundance of services, the staff are all wonderful and skilled at their craft. Since last year, I have been searching for a new nail tech. I am happy to say, I have found one here. Mia is my nail tech. Mia is extremely talented. She does an amazing job and truly cares for her clients. If you are in the neighborhood, come check them out.

Been going around to different places all my life in Alexandria but this was my first time here yesterday. The service alone was the best I’ve had at any nail place around here. Hayley and Thuy were AWESOME and i was able to get my manicure and pedicure started at the same time. Hayley was a joy and did a great job and made awesome suggestions.She learned my name which has never happened to me at a nail salon esp the first time I go there so I appreciated it! I can’t wait to go back and try new things. It’s clean quiet and relaxing everything I needed for a me day!

Each time I arrived with or without an appointment, I am welcomed and have a wonderful experience. I regularly get pedicures and dipping powder, many times with designs done by a very talented staff. You will not be disappointed!

I came here after a bad nail experience and Im absolutely happy I did. My nail tech, Chau, did an incredible job and asked me questions to make sure I was satisfied with everything. Very much recommend this place! Plus its clean and has a nice ambiance.

The outside looks a little unassuming but the inside is so clean and beautiful. They have a great selection of colors for regular polish, gel, dip, you name it. Everything is so clean and well kept. The people who work there are always so kind and it’s nice to see familiar faces rather than a staff that’s constantly rotating. I’ve been coming here for a few years and always have a great experience.

I been with Vy for about 5 years now. She is amazing every time I go I bring my design and she always delivers the exact design. I am very picky when it comes to my nails and she takes her time to make sure I always leave happy, I moved about 3 years ago and even though it takes me 2 hours to get to Vy I will not change salons the trip is definitely worth it for me. If you are looking for someone that it’s detail oriented and delivers greats service Aura Spa and Vy are the best place to be. I would highly recommend.

Love coming here. Helen is amazing. She is friendly, remembers my favorite drink, pays attention to detail and is very flexible. Would recommend her to anyone looking to get their nails done.

Friendly staff but the prices are too expensive for the quality of service you’re paying for. I was shocked when the apt was only 20 minutes long. They didn’t do any nail prep including pushing my cuticles back or cutting them and when I asked about it, they said it was an additional $20 charge. It was a sloppy job and my nails look like they’re already a week grown out. Won’t be returning.

I’ve gone three times and had up and down experiences. The quality of work is good for the prices. The person who did my nails two out of the three times did a good job but didn’t listen to what I asked for-even after asking repeatedly. Today, I had an appointment and still waited 45 minutes. That’s unacceptable. It’s also the only salon I’ve ever been to where they don’t put any lotion on. No extras-nothing.

Nails didnt last as long as they normally do with other salons and prices are high. Weird having Christmas/holiday decorations up at the start of summer. I did appreciate how they use a timer for the massage part of the pedi. They did not massage for the mani though. There are better salons in the area with better value. Wont return.

I am so happy that I found this salon. Everyone who works here is very nice and skilled! I’ve only had positive experiences with both pedicures and SNS. They offer an extensive amount of options for regular, gel, and SNS. Their salon is always clean and organized. Their prices are reasonable and they offer all the special designs that are popular. And their pedicures have great massage options and are very comfy. Highly recommend this spot!

The name is deceiving, it did not feel like a spa. There was pop music playing and they had the news playing on the TV. I did ask for a price before getting the service , I’m not sure if that contributed to the attention I received. I got a mani and pedi and I assumed I would get a quick foot/hand massage as part of the service because you know “SPA” but I didn’t. I’m going to stick to another salon I go to that gives me the service I expected for the same price.

Absolutely love every time I come into the salon. Always great service and the best massages during my pedicure. I found this gem when I moved to the area and have been coming ever since. Everyone is super friendly and the salon is so nice and also very clean!

So for starters they are not a “day spa”- it’s a nail salon and I really wanted to like it because it looks nice and clean. But my experience wasn’t great. I had to ask 4x to make my nails shorter and not crooked. I paid for a spa pedicure which had 15min massage listed on the menu but she tried to tell me it was old and it’s only 10min now. The “massage” was rubbing lotion on my leg- no massage. I had to ask her to do it harder and she got annoyed. My gel mani was done poorly. I will try the place again but with a different technician.

First time today , I loved the ambience this place has . I loved how calm, patient and collective (Mai specifically ) I was . She was my nail technician for today and she also did my eyebrows … I look pretty 💕And I really loved their service . Am really happy to say I will be going back . Usually I leave some nail salon feeling like I was quickly pushed to pick a color that eventually didn’t look good on me or the whole experience leaves me feeling like hmmmm I really didn’t feel welcome 😂🫠. But i left Aura feeling like 👍🏻 ! I will be coming back 💓

I’m incredibly pleased with this facility. Everyone is very nice. The building and facilities are really clean. My technician Helen was genuinely considerate and even stayed late to make sure my full package was complete. I was a walk in shortly before closing and did not refuse my service just because it was close to closing! I have never been to a spa or nail place that has done that- EVER! Please visit this shop and if you can, work with Helen!

Love this spa! The team is super nice, the salon is very clean and everyone is extremely professional! My nails always come out exceptional and exactly how I asked! They’ve not disappointed! It ma definitely not a typical salon. The ambience and decor of the salon is beautiful and very modern. I’ve had my nails done by Tina, Ashley, Annie and Mickey and they’ve all been fantastic! Check them out and once you’ll quickly realize that you’ve been missing out! The menu of services is extensive and they live up to every single thing they offer!

This place is a slice of heaven on earth! I was a regular at Pink Passion but when I arrived for my appointment today there were 40(!) people in chairs. After waiting 20 minutes, I decided to leave and try Aura. They fit me in and it was the best pedicure of my life. The spa is clean, chairs well spaced, and the atmosphere is serene. Quality service, calming environment, and kind people - just what this expecting mama needed! I found my new spot.

Aura has very poor customer satisfaction policies. I got my nails done as short nails and the next day many nails chipped and broke and half of decoration came off. I asked for my money back ($60 not including tip) and that was a no, so I asked for a new strong set of nails and they would only do that for a charge! I will never return.

We’ve been enjoying Aura day spa for a few years now but todays foot massage with my link flamingo pedicure was extra special! Thanks Key for your special touch!

Recently moved to the area, after trying so many places I finally found the best nail salon!!! Annie is amazing! Talented and such a sweet lady! Made me feel at home and did an amazing powder gel! Found my new favorite nail salon!!

Rose is my person. I followed her here from another shop. She is thorough and has a great demeanor. And the shop is clean, spacious, and an overall delight.

Van did a Swedish massage and a spa pedicure for me. The pedicure was excellent. She does an amazing reflexology. My biggest complaint on the message was that she didnt ask what my problem areas were. Ive never had a massage at a spa where the therapist just starts working on you.

I worked with Tina and Kathy and they were both amazing! I’ve had several manicures in my life and this one is by far my favorite! Tina took the time to explain why dip was better than gel for your nails and any other little question I had. Love love love! Definitely going back!

Each time I visit, its been a great experience. Annie and Micky and the whole staff are polite, engaging and do a great job, no matter the services I gotten. They have maintained COVID safety protocols. I live in Southern MD but go all the way to VA- that should say a lot!

Tina and her team do the absolute best pedicures. I lap swim and have never had the nail polish even chip! Everything here is absolutely wonderful and this is my go-to salon for facials, nails, eyebrows, etc.!

I love everything about Aura Day Spa! The atmosphere is beautiful. All the techs are very professional. I love how they pay attention to detail, if you talk to them about what youre trying to achieve from a manicure to ombre to gel or sns they bring to life the look your dreaming of.

They are amazing !!! the place is clean very high end and managed by the most professional and talented staff. The experience is that of a very well managed Spa. Since I became a customer at Aura Day Spa I cannot imagine going to another place. Tina, the owner and manager is amazing. They have become part of my day to day life. They will accomodate your scehule, stay late and mots improtantly perform both manicures and pedicures flawlessly.
