Great place, excellent staff. I went for my birthday to get a combo hot cream manicure and pedicure. I got a back massage while doing my manicure. That was a plus for me. Ms. Lan was very kind. Ms. Katy, the receptionist, was very helpful and diligent. Im planning to visit in a monthly basis. cant wait to be back. Thank you so much for making my birthday 🎂 an unforgettable one! 🙏💗 💓

Absolutely terrible experience. The staff isn’t accommodating and refused to do what I asked. I asked for an acrylic refill. No polish. They insisted on a new set, I declined. They insisted polish and I told them no. The lady started being rough with pulling my hands and fingers out of the dryer and after being there for hours I just decided to let her do her thing. BIG MISTAKE. I left with my nails looking hideous. Went back the next day to get them fixed and they still look terrible. None of the filing is uniform. Every stiletto is a different shape and length. None of the ladies in there would tell me their names or even look me in the eye and try to make a happy customer out of me. I did pay $113 after all. Never again.

Lucas is AMAZING! My daughter and I got our nails done at another salon and they were really messed up. We immediately came to Solace and Lucas saved the day. He is so talented and detailed. Takes his time to ensure perfection. Always wow’ed by the professionalism and service at Solace!!

I absolutely love this place! I come here all the time to see Kim and she never disappoints! She knows exactly the shape I like and always does such a detailed job. I’ve had many sets from here and love this one like all the others!

They do not listen at all. Service was terrible. I told the lady that’s not what I wanted nor asked for and she told me to do it myself. She chopped of my real nail so short and put tips on them when I asked for only tips on my nail length already to make them even also gave her a reference photo of how short and the shape I wanted them. 10/10 do not recommend going there for your mail care. My nails are now crooked and hurt and no one there cares. If I could I’d give a negative rating.

Lee did a fantastic job on my pedicure, tips and SNS. He pays attention to detail and does exactly what you ask. Will definitely go back to see him. 😊

I got a full body massage and OMG it was the best massage I ever had in my entire life. I came in with shoulder pain and left with no pain I still can’t believe it she really has magic fingers. I can’t wait for the next one. Cindy is very professional, sweet and made me laugh. She even gave me tips at home to help relax the muscle more. I just found my new favorite massage place.

Pedicure was great but recent experience getting the dip powder manicure was subpar. Never write reviews but within 24hrs the color/powder(?) on two nails has completely popped off so now I feel kind of compelled. Its a $55 service and they would not trim cuticles or do anything beyond use the sander tool that rubs your skin raw -- its an extra $10 to get the bare minimum nail care. Would highly recommend they include proper manicure techniques for dip powder nail services as well otherwise quality of the service does not match the price tag.

2nd time this year i visited. Photos taken less than 5 days old...and already peeling and cracked considering its suppose to be gel manicure. Poor quality, even with my hair color....never going back. Used to be my go to place before when I used to leave there. Had my appointment last Dec 16th. I will be sticking to Potomac Nails spa this time coz my gel manicure is best quality, last over 2 weeks with out peeling or cracking. Solace Alexandria just lost a customer. My hair color was also a bad experience. Burning and stinging after a day, my whole scalp was flaking. Never again. Seemed products used became of poorer quality. -Michelle

I called and asked if they had availability and could do a specific style. They said they would in ten minutes and could do the style I asked. showed up waited 45 minutes just to be told they can’t do the style I wanted.

Go in for first time. And got a VIP treatment and respect. Felt like they wanted me to relax and come back again. Thank you Rene really appreciate your help.

I enjoy my nail tech what I didn’t enjoy was the fact that if I’m coming to receive a nail and pedicure, then it shouldn’t be all these additional charges to have the nail polish that was placed on by you all as an additional charge I mean I understand everything has to be tied up, but that is the only way you can give a quality pedicure. Something is just going too far with the charge of this in charge of bad in charge of every little detail of things.

I’m so disappointed and not satisfied. it’s been years since I have my haircut done. I have long hair and I told the hairstylist I just want shoulder length layered haircut. I have a round face so I don’t want my hair to be short. I even showed pictures, different angles, what style haircut I want. He argued with me and told me he’s been a long time hairstylist and knows what he is doing… when I got home my nape stings and painful. So i took a picture and saw what happened, the hairstylist shaved it causing razor burn and didn’t even bothered to tell me. Also, it’s not even straight.

I have been coming to Solace Day Spa for about 15 years now. All the ladies do a good job, but Jenny is a cut above the rest! She is very meticulous. I have sensitive cuticles and she is always gentle and I have never had any nicks or cuts when she does my nails. Best of all, my dip manicure lasts at least a month! She keeps my nails looking great and she is flexible and responsive with text appts.! Shes the best!!

My two teenage sons see Cindy every couple weeks for haircuts. She does a super job!

Charged me $105 for a basic manicure and pedicure. The work was absolutely horrible and she cut my fingers and they were bleeding. Beware of getting anything done in this establishment. Please be cautious, when using an establishment that tries to price gouge. Would never return to this place and would not recommend anyone else to use this place. I see they have more people providing reviews but this place is absolutely horrible and should be avoided. Went back to see if things changed years later and they are still awful.

The on-line booking tool is HORRENDOUS! I had an appointment scheduled. via on-line, with Jackie for a 60-min. deep-tissue massage. The establishment CANCELED my appointment without notifying me and charged my credit card. SHAM BUSINESS!!! I have reported this where appropriate.

My stepmom made an appointment days in advance. She showed up early for her appointment and they said they didn’t have room for her and were extremely rude. What’s the point of making appointments if they can’t be honored? And why be rude when you were the one not holding up your end of the appointment? Don’t waste your time going here.

I made an appointment to cut my hair, asked the receptionist in advance for the best hair dresser in the building. It was Mary. And, it was a disaster hair cut! I didn’t cut my hair for a long time since I was looking for a new hairdresser closer to my home. My hair are naturally curly and very fine. Because of that I have a lot of split ends. Mary spent 10 minutes for just trimming my hair on the back and a little bit on the front. When I told her that I would need some layers and need to get rid of dead ends that look like sponge she replied that I don’t need it and let me go. I was in shock!$50.00 for 10 min hair cut with someone who simply don’t know what they doing?! I think it is too much. I had to go back to my old hairdresser in Herndon to have a normal professional cut. I would like my money back! It is a shame to have someone in the big reputable salon that have no clue how to cut hair! Leave haircutting for professional hair salons and don’t fool people.

Hanane was wonderful today. I haven’t had a pedicure in 3 months and she provided a spa pedicure service and it was just amazing. She is kind and detailed and I look forward to scheduling with her again.I’ve been a customer for 5 years but haven’t been back in town since Covid. How happy I was to find a gift card to use and have Mary trim, condition, and style my hair too.Such a relaxing trip and love Solace!!

I have been with Solace Day Spa as a customer more than 8yrs now. Amazing customer service, Friendly, and always very helpful. One of the employee that I strongly admire is KT Tran. She has been taking care of me more than 8yrs. She makes me feel pretty and very good listener. Even my daughter and mom loves her too. She always pay attention what we want even my daughter. Solace Day Spa really lucky to have an awesome employee like KT.

Jennie was absolutely adorable. She listened to my needs and provided a superb spa pedicure. I walk a lot so the massage was right on time for my feet. Loved that she served me hot green tea. It was a reat time to relax.The heat neck pillow was a nice touch.

I came in for a relaxing pedicure and Hanane did a fantastic job! This wasn’t my first visit and will certainly not be my last.The place is clean, bright, and elegant, and they have separate “rooms” for each type of service (hair, nails, etc..), which gives me this “this service type is our focus” kind of feel, which I really vibe with when I’m not looking to spend all afternoon to do the whole shebang.

Sophia and Gwen did such an amazing job on my friend and I’s Solace Signature Spa Pedicures. I am visiting from out of town and my friend, who goes to Solace Spa all the time, suggested we go. I absolutely love Solace Day Spa. It is beautiful, nicely decorated with very clean stations for all services that I have had. They had excellent Covid protocols from the start, and I felt comfortable enough to come back as soon as we could.The staff is really terrific. I have been getting pedicures and manicures from Jenni Bui for about 6 years - she’s fantastic. I schedule around her availability. I have friends who go to her and think the same thing. But there are many other technicians who also do a great job. I give Solace five stars. Try them!

I have been coming to Solace since it opened many years ago. I’ve had many of their services that I have enjoyed but I regularly get my hair cut and my mani/pedi here. I think their prices are reasonable. I highly recommend Mary. She can perform many of the services so definitely ask for her when you call for an appointment. The salon is clean and cheerfully decorated for the holidays.

I always go when I need a pedicure and they do an amazing job. Normally I do the spa pedi, but this time I did the Earth Spa Pedicure and my skin has never felt so soft before! Will definitely come back again in a few weeks!

Good Service! I like their Dazzle Dry Nail Polish System. Goes on like Gel, Removes like polish, and last about 14 days. However, some of the massage chairs are not fully operational and lack some of the proper functions like Kneeding and Tapping. They need to get this issue fixed!

Do NOT recommend for massage. I had the most uncomfortable and unusual experience here. I was first told to remove all of my clothing for the massage even though I wanted to keep my underwear on. Later, I was told that I have terrible wrinkles and am in desperately in need of a facial. Finally, the massage therapist proceeded to tell me how better her skin was than mine saying she was 50 and has better skin than I do.I am a mom, newly postpartum, looking for some relaxation and this was NOT the experience I was looking for. The rudeness was incredible and I literally stood with my mouth open as she was openly insulting my skin and appearance. I had to cut her short and ask for privacy because it got so hurtful and personal.Avoid this place if you can!

Terribly ran business. There was no one at the reception area to process the online booking I made. Waited until a tech noticed and asked. Then they had no idea what booking I even made. Instead of a 90 minute massage, they did a 60 minute. And then did a quick basic pedicure when it was not what I booked. This appointment was already paid for before, so I was grossly overcharged for services received.

I wanted to get a massage for my birthday and was referred to Solace. My hot stone therapy massage with Jackie was great. However, upon walking in no one greeted me for almost 15 minutes. There was several people working all who saw me walk in or at least heard the bell go off when i walked in. They all ignored me and allowed me to awkwardly stand there until my therapist walked in and pointed me in the right direction. When i was done with my massage my therapist did not walk me to the front and i had to search for someone to pay for my services. Then they tried to charge me the full cost of my service despite requiring a $51 deposit to schedule the massage. Customer service here was garbage.

My go-to place for manicures (SNS) and pedicures (gel). I see Megan for manicures because she doesn’t give me grief over how short I keep/want my nails (barely any white showing 😂). When you play sports and have animals they just break too easily 🤷‍♀️Solace is also great at facial waxing. I have gotten massages in the past and they were great as well, however there was a lot of turnover in the massage staff (pre-pandemic) so I’m not sure if that’s still the case.And yes, they do try to upsell things. For instance if you come in for a manicure expect to be asked if you want a pedicure and vice versa; if you want your eyebrows waxed they make comment on your lip or chin, etc. But honestly I haven’t found a place that doesn’t do this 🤷‍♀️

I have had great experiences with Hanane. She is personable, professional, and knowledgeable. Hanane is able to recommend services that suits your needs. I highly recommend her for your next service.

Scheduled a couples massage appointment days in advance for Saturday AM. Got a call not even 10hrs prior to appointment time to let me know that couples massages are no longer offered. They could do the massage but one after the other. Seriously beyond frustrated. Lack of courtesy, lack of accurate information on their website. I should have booked elsewhere. Don’t book here!

Hanane gave a fabulous, relaxing pedicures! So relaxing and beautiful nails. First time threading too and I loved the result.

I was able to make a walk in appointment and receive a great hour massage; very pleased with the ease of of setting this up as a walk in. Nicole did a wonderful job, focusing on the areas that I asked of her, and adjusting pressure intuitively. The reception and check out processes were easy, very polite and friendly staff. I was pleased with the shower and steam room access, an unexpected bonus. Thanks for providing a military discount as well, much appreciated. I purchased a gift certificate while on site for a friend and plan to return myself soon.

Customer Service, Ms Jewell fantastic very professional and kind. The person she gave us to do a manicure and pedicure was very nice, Ms Helan. But her work was terrible. She drilled Moms toe nail to thin and didnt smooth it out the nail cracked. She didnt put lotion or oil on Moms legs until I showed her the dry skin. It took a while for them to find the correct color. They were not very welcoming at all. She did not trim cuticle on manicure or pedicure. She gave Mom a sorry looking polish job. Mom smeared a nail. She repainted the nail, and left the smeared polish on her finger, the skin. Would love to attach pics. Will never go back.

Solace Spa has very poor customer service.I had my white blouse colored black.Soaking wet from neck, side to side of my shoulders to the waist line.Katie only took the hair dryer in her hand, another customer came and told me to go dry my self in the bathroom, and wash my blouse at home right away. A good thing I had brought an extra blouse with me in case of getting wet. The blouse is totally ruined. The blouse very wet and water was dripping down as if it was taken out of a bucket and 28 degrees outside and I suppose to walk to my car under this horrible condition.The disaster did not STOP here, my hair was colored black and I am light brunette.I mentioned to Katie that it is too black as soon as she had washed my hair. Katie said once she dries my hair it would go to gold, but never did.High lights look as if I had them done eight months ago. Then one more mishap with the bill. I was told that I would receive 20% discount and also had a gift card. The cashier only gave 10% and took my gift card. Another woman comes and says I did not pay as I was about to depart. I said here is the receipt of my credit card and then she said that cannot be done this way.My skull was burning had to run to a friend’s home to wash my skull.I am black jet and not light brunette or light blond and just a less than thin high lights that begin half way from my hair downVery poor horrible customer service and experienceThe massage and the cleaning lady are the nicest and best and the only professionals at the Solace Spa.I would not recommend this place for nothing except the massage.Paying to be abused and leave very disappointed and extremely unhappy.I would never go back to Solace Spa.

Had full highlights done, she never toned my hair and I payed for it. I mentioned it and they did not want to fix it. They rushed my hair because another client was waiting, my highlights came out awful. I came back to get them fixed again, she told me she could not go through each part of my hair to fix the highlight...even though I was willing to pay again for the service. She said “it can’t be done” and I said “it can be done, you are just lazy to do it” and I walked out. Don’t go there, waste of money!

Paid $120 for a mani and pedi woth gel polish, the polish started peeling off by the 3rd day... disappointed for my first time

My massage experience was awesome. Don is amazing and makes you very comfortable. I get a massage often and this place is one of the best. I love the clean restroom, sauna, shower, lockers, robes, etc. It is a very classy establishment. I wish I had more money, I would get a massage by Don every day!

I went in asking for a full set. While taking off my old set, the lady was very rough and broke two of my real nails. I asked for a medium length almond shape nail and she gave me very short nails instead. When I told her I wanted them longer, she said it was too late and i had to deal with the very short length. I also asked for a simple black and white design to which she said she couldn’t do, so I had to get just plain white. The nail polish seemed to move and create lines while drying too. Waste of money.

Dont go here ever! The guy who did my nails did a horrible job! They are all very different,in a bad way. Some nails are longer than the others, some arent even squared. He even cut up my fingers in the process of doing my nails. I am so disappointed that my nails came out horrible and they cost me $30 to get them done. The only good thing about this place is the lady who waxed my eyebrows did an awesome job. I will never go back here and I dont recommend anyone else go here.

My gel refill looks good, but the lady, Susan, who did my nails was very rude and impatient. She used her own nails to push my cuticles back and drew blood while filing one of my nails. I went to this spa to have a relaxing time, but I ended up having to say “Stop, you’re hurting me” repeatedly to someone who was careless about doing their job.

Can’t keep appointments. Don’t go here. I was drawn to this place because it was a full service salon and it was close to my house. The first time I went here they had completely lost my appointment but they were eventually able to get me in and did a decent job so I gave them another shot. Today I went to my appointment and they eventually found it in the computer had me sit down and wait 20 minutes beyond my appointment time. When I went to complain the receptionist told me the lady had taken another client and to keep waiting. I was furious. I had been a early to my appointment and she took another client?! They also never asked me if they could get me a water or anything else to drink. I will never be going here again.

I tried Solace three times for nail services and was disappointed every time. All three times the polished was not professionally applied (lots of polish on my skin), two times my nails were cut at strange angles and different lengths, and the last time I went just for a color change and the employee took three phone calls and was texting during my service. The color change almost took as long as a pedicure. I reported my disappointment to the lady at the front desk and she shrugged at me and offered no apology. I think the staff varies greatly, so if you go, be sure to get a recommendation of a specific staff member and make an appointment.

Probably the worst pedicure I have ever had. He only took about 20 minutes and that was with a 10 minute soak. Put lotion on but not any kind of massage. The sister salon is much better. Go to the nail salon instead!

I called to ask if a certain nail technician was there. They replied no. I asked to make an appointment for Friday. They said I could come in today. I said ok I’m on the way. When I get there they asked me to come back another time cause “we are busy”. I have been to this spa before and enjoyed my time. I don’t live close and thought I would treat myself before going home. Why invite me to come in then turn around and send me away saying you’re busy. Wouldn’t you have told me on the phone when I called.

Horrible. Been here twice and booked in advanced. They had no record of my reservation either time and the second time they charged me for an hour long massage when I told them I only wanted the half hour. I wouldn’t return or recommend.

Ive been here over 10 times to do my nails and pick a different person everytime because Ive left disappointed every time hoping the next one will be better but apparently it took me too long. It seems this place employees without previous experience so basically train while they earn. Ive attached pix as proof of how bad the work is.

Solace has great manicurists and the store is impeccably clean. Tools are disinfected after each use in an autoclave. I won’t go anywhere else.

Great service--that means courteous, kind, helpful, and not pushy.Prices--high, but the services are worth the extra dollars. I am a fan of the signature pedi ($65), which takes a full hour and includes multiple massages, oils, wax, buffing, scrubbing, grating, etc. The chairs are excellent, too.My favorite part about this place is that they take their time...even offer a beverage...with ease and care.I will say that their service menu is a mess--$4 to clip nails, $3 to repair, $7 for designs on two big toes. Madness.Ill stick to the signature pedi.

She told me to put my feet in the water for the pedicure and the water was scalding hot. she laughed. i reiterated that it was too hot and then she felt it and apologized. she then pressed the buttons for the chair to do the massage, it didnt work. she kept pushing the buttons and laughing. i told her again it wasnt working. i asked her if we could move and she ignored me. for the prices it was not worth the experience.

I had a 50 dollar gift card from my mother in law so I decided to pay them a visit. Omg I had a gel acrylic manicure done by the lady who sits in the middle of the second row and I have to say that it was rushed as hell. I asked for diamond shape- nails came out horribly shaped. I had to go to my usual salon to get it redone. Save your money and go to Beautiful Nails at Landmark instead.

I’ve been going here for almost 10 years. Hands down the cleanest, salon I have visited before and during Covid! Appointments made via app, temperature checks as you walk through the door, plexiglass up, social distance between customers. You can’t get any better!

It is convenient for me, close to home and the services are reasonably good. I usually do a walk-in appointment for mani-pedi. I do not expect much from the front desk staff. If they were rocket scientists they would be somewhere else. However, having said that, they have always handled any unusual questions or needs I have had with appropriate attitudes and responses - I find them very pleasant. The surprising thing, what I did not expect, is that the hair stylists are pretty good. The guys who does my color, Tom, does a great job with color. Hair cutting is always traumatic for me, but Tom does pretty well. Bring a photo of what you want. He tries very hard to please and his technical skills are good. There is a woman there who does Afr/Amer and ethinic hair. I have watched her do fabulous things on the several occasions that I have been there for hair services. All her clients seem extremely happy and they always look great after she is done. The prices are reasonable or within line with everyone else in town and I do not want to pay more. I am always pretty happy with what I get there. I would recommend it to others.
