Kas is the best masseuse! I was having muscle spasms. I knew his technique would help! I get massages often but only when he’s available. He listens to the client and adjusts his technique to your satisfaction. He is professional and his quiet demeanor allows my massage time to be just as it should, relaxing.

I originally requested to cancel my membership on July 12th via text message. I had missed an appointment and was charged a $75 fee for not giving 24 hours notice. It angered me that I’m paying that kind of money for a service I don’t want and can’t use/have not used since MARCH of this year.I received a response to my text the following day requesting that I provide a good time to call. I did not respond: my request to cancel was provided in writing, there was nothing else to talk about. Nancy Cortez reached out a few times. I returned each phone call and left messages, but she never called me back. At least one of those calls were during a time frame she provided me indicating when she’d be available to talk to me. I even called two or three times after not hearing anything from her. I left messages each time and also sent follow up emails. My last email was a run down of everything I had done to cancel my membership and was charged ANOTHER subscription fee after requesting to cancel. In my email, I indicated that I was filing a dispute for only the last charge with my bank and that I was requesting a new debit card to prevent further charges. That still didn’t elicit a response from Nancy Cortez.While searching for contact information for a District or Regional Manager, I came across information about a class action lawsuit filed in Illinois against Massage Envy for making it difficult to cancel. I read the lawsuit and it is almost verbatim what I’ve reported in this email.I also emailed corporate and cc’d Nancy Cortez - she’s the business manager at the S Glebe Road location in Arlington. If any further attempts are made to deduct funds from my account, I’m contacting an attorney.

The front desk receptionist are always wonderful! Monica, the massage therapist, was excellent! The pressure was perfect. I fell asleep.

Had a massage scheduled for 60 minutes. James was ok….wasnt very friendly checking out. He’s older so I’m sure he may be tired. It felt rushed and I didn’t think it was worth $142. Spoke to a manager I believe, expressed my concerns with the timing and the price. He was very helpful with breaking down the timing and explaining how things work. But in my opinion …$142 for 50 minutes of actual massage time is a bit outrageous. I did get a discounted service in the end. So thank you for that.

Chrisnise is exceptional! After not having been there in a while I forgot I great she is. It’s not just her skills but her overall personality and customer service. Without a doubt she is my preferred therapist.

Kimberly at Potomac yard is great, she starts off with some deep breathing that really gets you relaxed, she’s very intuitive and focuses on spots of tension and pressure. One of the best massage therapists I’ve had with Massage envy

I hold stress in my upper back and shoulders. Kassahun’s massage therapy technique is able to address the knots on those areas. I truly appreciate his help in maintaining my health.

Inflexible, terrible service. Was a member for over a year, and holistically unsatisfied. The receptionists lack customer service skills. The massage therapists are very kind; however, they aren’t actually effective at giving good massages. It’s challenging to get an appointment, seems like a massage therapist will be booked out a month in advance at times. They’ll call you for an up-charge on a Sunday morning or at odd hours when you’re in the middle of a work day. Don’t waste your time or money. A massage place should remove the knots, not provoke them.

I was a member of massage envy for 3-4 years but after moving states I ended up going here and the massage was absolutely unbearable so horrible I didn’t go back until I moved home to my original location (but they wouldn’t switch the location in the system so I had to deal with this location from afar) I went back but they also lowered in quality so I wanted to just cancel. I’m not sure if canceling is this impossible at all locations but this one is a bad home location. You have to sign something with an app that cost money to be able to use it or jump through more hoops to cancel it. They are very rude and unwilling to help from the front desk to management.

I wasted a trip there and an hour after I arrived because Shameka did not conduct the pre-treatment questionnaire regarding any health issues to completion.The esthetician, Cina, was condescending when she questioned me about the health form I filled out . I told her that I wasn’t given a one to complete. By this time, I was already on the table waiting for my treatment. She told me to get dressed and left the room. She came back with a man who did not identify in himself and he told me that I could not get a treatment. This could have been avoided if Shameka had done her part correctly when I first arrived. The staff members I dealt with were very unprofessional.

Great location! The front desk was pleasant and professional. The massage itself was good. Areas for improvement…The heated table was not on or ready for the service when I arrived and it didn’t warm up until half way through the service. The massage therapist’s cell phone went off six times during my service which made it more challenging to relax.

Scam. Not worth it. Once you start you will never be able to get out from under it. So bad we both had 6 services each accrued and we just decided to cut our losses and leave. After being with massage envy since 2013/14, we moved from the DMV area to Newport news and transferred our membership. When we moved back in 2020, we were not allowed to transfer back to the DMV and always charged an upcharge. Then...when our credit card expired we decided we will not update it. Use our remaining services and be done. But now we have to buy the months from when our card expired to now to even schedule the ones we paid for...showing that its like a gym membership...once they get you...they wont let go.

Everyone from the counter staff greeting and checking me in to my masseuse, Magan ensuring I get the max and am most comfortable during and after my service are very professional, knowledgeable and courteous. Thank you and I will continue to share and refer others to the Potomac Yard salon.

Enjoyed my tech. Wish she just massage a little deeper. Sometimes her touch was too light and not firm enough. But overall a good job

This was only my second time here and my second massage ever but it was a great experience.The location is clean, spacious and easy to find/get to. The front desk is helpful and patient. My masseuse is wonderful.The only thing I regret is not doing a 90 minute massage! It’s alright, because I booked that for next time.

I would not recommend this Massage Envy.When I first signed up for the membership I was told I was able to cancel anytime then learning later that I had to have my membership for a year before I could cancel. The employees at this Massage Envy are horrible at communicating and listening. I tried to transfer a massage to my aunt and they couldn’t even get her name or her number right after I spelled it out and repeated myself twice, therefore Massage Envy tried to charge her at the end.There was one good masseuse I had here named Elena, the rest just seemed to want to hurry up and get the massage over with.

Ill never get another Massage Envy membership due to the manager, Nancy. After moving to a different state and attempting numerous times to cancel my membership, my 3 credits (which Ive already paid for) are now null. Im told that these credits are a privilege and wont be able to be redeemed until I shell out more money. Avoid this location at all costs, and if you happen to have the displeasure of working with Nancy then you should start praying to a higher power.

I was very disappointed that my facial esthetician did not massage my arms and fingers in my session. She says it’s only complementary when she has extra time.. yet I checked in at 11:00 but my session started at 11:15 and ended at 11:45.. will not be using her again!

Veronica was very attentive to my aching problem areas i.e. (hips, hands and feet). She listened to my concerns and worked her magic. Also, I must compliment her humbleness and friendly demeanor. I would highly recommend her.

Masseur was excellent. Gene was attentive, he asked me questions, listened to me, and focused on my areas of concern. His recommendations were also very good.They promptly greeted me, but it was not an overly warm and friendly experience. Front desk team may not have been overly enthusiastic but they were efficient and got the job done.Overall, I would come back to see Gene again and would recommend him to others, as well.UPDATE: I called to reschedule my session and was informed I would be charged anyway. You have to give 24 hours notice to reschedule. This was not mentioned to me when I booked the appointment. They should absolutely let you know- especially since I wasnt calling to cancel, but to reschedule or come later.

Front desk ladies were sweet and informative, Chrisnise was very attentive to target areas where she felt stress and loved her changes in pressures for certain areas. 10/10 experience. Thank you ladies!

Elena was great. She addressed my areas of concerns and as very accommodating with the temperature of the massage table.

Elena my masseuse was great at making me feel relaxed in body. The only suggestion Id make is that she could have been a little more friendly. Her demeanor was not very warm but somewhat rigid. All in all my visit was pleasant the front desk staff was great in helping me feel welcomed as a first timer. The young lady who assisted me with intake and exiting was wonderful at explaining all the Massage Envy has to offer. I believe her name was Shanika. Thank you the great service. I’ll see you next month!😀

Rude and pushy staff. They will call you frequently, trying to get you to schedule services with them. When you tell them, No thanks. If I need anything, Ill schedule an appointment online, as I just did, they will *hang up on you*. I have been going to another local ME, and never once have they bothered me, but this location? Totally different vibe. Unless the Potomac Yard store is incredibly convenient to you, my suggestion would be to find another one.

Dynesha is amazing. She found more knots that I even thought was possible and worked them out. From the warm towels to relax my muscles to the firm pressure, I was in heaven. Thank you again Dynesha. Your hands are amazing.

Yesterday’s [~ a year ago per the reply, also this past Sun.,’s] visit [were] great - The therapist[s] asked me which areas to focus on, & [they] did just that. [They] didn’t shy away from the tension spots; rather, [they] pressed into them [& stretched them out]! [They] also used a hot towel for those areas, which was soothing & assisted me in stretching [& relaxing] those areas [further]…(It looks like I may not have fully posted this previous experience, so updated it using [s] since it holds true for my 2-most-recent sessions: stretch & massage.)

Clean atmosphere. Front desk was friendly. Chrisnise was amazing! I will definitely book again!

I hate writing bad reviews, but I feel like this situation should be put in the light for other people that are thinking of becoming a member at this specific location.Ive been a member at this location for a years now, however, theres been so many scenarios with management that have been terrible. The therapists are great, but the management here is really bad. Theres constantly never the same people in the front office and theres a lot of turnover with therapists too. In fact, I use my credits at other locations because this one is really bad.On February 7th, 2024 - I called to get my membership cancelled, but the manager wasnt on site. They said that theyd forward my case to the manager and should be hearing back soon and my membership should be cancelled in 24-48 hours. However, nothing happened. I called again February 7th in the afternoon, February 8th, and February 12th. With the front desk always saying that theyll forward my case to the manager. Then I was charged again on February 12th. In every instance, the manager, Nancy Cortez never seems to be on site so I cant talk to her directly. In fact, shes totally MIA.I called again now (February 18th), and again, shes not there.I have a sense that theyre struggling as a business and wont actually try and cancel your membership. This is a very scammy and unethical. As of right now, my issue is still not resolved hence the negative review. The front desk staff was incredibly pleasant and wonderful😊. They made excellent recommendations regarding products. The masseuse, Chrisine, performed a fairly good massage— she was just very standoffish and unwelcoming. I would come back to this location, but would book an appointment with another masseuse— someone more welcoming.

My massage was good as always. I have been going to massage envy for many years.

The massage room was clean and comfortable, and the therapist “Kassahun” created a calming and relaxing atmosphere. I felt completely at ease and confident in their abilities.The massage itself was amazing, he used the perfect amount of pressure, and were able to find all the right spots to losses muscles. I felt my stress and anxiety began to fade away.

The massage by Michael H makes my body feel like new again, and I am much more flexible and calm.

The message I had was very relaxing and I was able to totally unwind. All of my target areas were addressed.

This location is amazing! To start I spoke to another location first who were not very nice, so I tried this location... This is the one to beat.Every person I encountered was personable, kind, professional, and had a good spirit about them.I had Tiffani (stretching) and Denay (massage), They were both fantastic. Tiffani was incredible and accommodating. Denay seriously felt like she had healing hands. Both of them were a spectacular experience, strongly recommend either one or both!The front desk and management I encountered were all fantastic as well. They were smiling, happy, and friendly. Elena was great at massaging, but overall I think the company is super sketchy. I was paying the $85/mo subscription fee and I went to get my massage. When I went to tip, I saw her put in $140, so the tip % would be bigger! Thats incredibly shady to me.

I am giving 4/5 for Elena and 1/5 for ME membership policy. The first visit with Elena was odd but we were getting to know one another so trust had to be gained. Elena worked the areas my PT wanted and she did a wonderful job so I keep returning. I do not think her odd, she’s just not super chatty which I greatly appreciate. She gets right to work and doesn’t use up my time! She recently started using the warm towel to loosen some muscles, which I am thankful for because it does the trick! Unfortunately, I cannot recall the rest because her work usually puts me right to sleep, and for me that’s a 30% gratuity! (I don’t feel racked and quartered when I leave!) Extra thanks for the cleanliness of this location facility. Storage isn’t in the hallways!My peeves? The hidden fee for not using a home location site that is CONSTANTLY overly booked and unavailable. Sneaky! If I’m paying more at least put some lavender in my room! The fact you are on “their clock” so if they are behind you don’t get your full 50. And the annoying constant upsells of “add-ons!” Thank goodness this location does not do this like the others. My utter disappointment is the inability to cancel a membership. Gym memberships got legally dinged on this scheme and had to make it easier to cancel. Not cool, ME! Luckily I found Elena at this location but I will be watching the calendar to cancel and plan to see if this cancellation policy is legal.*Update: I think this is the best ME in the area! I will continue going because of that. I just do not like the franchise membership policy. THIS location and staff are professional which I appreciate.

Denay is one of the best. I always enjoy how professional and how she pays attention to detail. I leave a happy camper every time. I would like to take stretch after my massage and l have spoken with the manager about Denay having the class and was told she would make sure this happened but it hasn’t happened yet. I’m not sure what that’s about. However, I will continue to allow Denay to give me dynamic massages.

I had Chrisnise as my massage therapist and she was awesome. She created a relaxing environment and gave an excellent massage with medium pressure. I definitely recommend.

Mogi is the best at her profession. She’s so knowledgeable about skincare and her facials and microdermabrasions are top quality. Once you find your favorite masseuse (I won’t mention mine because I want to be able to get an appointment!)you can’t go wrong here. They follow strict protocols, the place is clean, and their front desk staff is very professional. Highly recommend! I’ve been to many places besides ME and this one has undergone a huge transformation over the last ten years that I’ve been a member. Keep up the good work M.E!

Denay is the best at what she does! The perfect amount of pressure not too hard and no too soft. Those 60 minute massages go so fast so now Im incorporating a couple extra in each month and its worth it.

Before it never really matter to me whether I have a male or female as a massus today I tried a mail not saying that it should be even better or worse but this guy really knew what he was doing he really gave me a deep tissue massage I walked out feeling so brand new and when I got home I had so much energy I will definitely be back thank you so much

I had the most unpleasant experience with Elena. She started the massage experience by questioning my pain asking me “are you sure your back hurts”Then she left the door open which ruined the ambiance and when it came time to flip over I asked for a pillow and was told no.When the massage ended Elena just abruptly ended the massage. I was left with the lotion on my body.

I called 3 times on several months (April, May, August, September) reporting as an unsatisfied customer who wishes to cancel my membership.I have tired massages with over 6 therapists in two different locations, non of which I continued with more than two sessions, cause I did not find what I was looking for. I seek massage to treat my migraines and keep getting them which makes be argue that the massage I am getting does not do what it should Each time, I had to pay for the treatment, none was worth it, or that I consider going back for.Adding to that pile, I saw 2 stretch therapists, there was one that I continued services with more than 2 sessions, she no longer works with the company.I discussed my intent to discontinue my services and cancel my membership several times with more than 4 people (in person and on the phone). One have mentioned that I could cancel my membership after two months, one told me that she will cancel my membership after she advised me to complete sessions on my account since I already paid, another told me to get a medial report stating that I can’t get massages; lastly, one manager told me “she could not help me” with canceling my membership and offered no compensation whatsoever. This is a terrible business, getting mixed messages is not professional, if you don’t have what the customer needs, just let them cancel the membership.. I’m quite shocked about the company’s reply,the first thing i did was submit a complaint on the website.There was no resolution, the regional person reached out and said they couldn’t do anything since my membership is with this location.

Sina my esthetician, is a very attentive and knowledgeable. She always asks about my skin routine prior and provides tips to enhance my skin care. I have been going to Massage Envy for around 4 months and I see a major difference in my skin health. Also, I experienced my first massage at this location and Crystal was phenomenal. I felt so relaxed, I fell asleep during the session.Finally, Customer service is always great. They are very patient and helpful.

Gene at the Potomac Yard location is an exceptional massage therapist. He listened to me while described where my greatest aches and pains, and helped me release a lot of tension that had built up over the past months.

I didn’t realize that I have been going to Denay for nearly a year. She always makes my experience incredibly relaxing. She maintains her professionalism at all times and ensures I am comfortable. Most importantly I NEVER feel like my time is rushed. I highly recommend Denay for her massage services.

I loved everything about my experience. All the staff was professional, kind and friendly. They truly go above and beyond. Denay is a great massage therapist. She worked on the areas I specified and was very sweet. It was the first time I had a relaxing massage. (I usually prefer firm) She showed me how the relaxing massage was just as effective as a firm massage. She created a plan for me and I’m absolutely going back. I’d recommend visiting them. You’ll love it.

Yesterday I had a deep tissue massage with James and OMG hes amazing. Im a competitive bodybuilder and I suffer with arthritis and tendonitis. He was able to get me back to having better range of motion in my back and shoulders after just one 60 minute session. I cant wait to have another session with him.

Good offer for me. It was a good service. I need to mention I woke up with a red area under one eye. Not sure if related to any of the products. Or a scratch.

The staff was pleasant, as always. I was about 8 minutes late for my (12:00) appointment but, the previous appointment had not fished, yet. My therapist took me to my room at 12:12 and, without me inquiring, I was assured that I would get my full hour, since this had been the case. Nonetheless, the massage was rushed which killed my ability to fully relax. And, when I walked out the door, it was 1:08 p.m. I certainly did not get my full 60 minutes and, I felt it!

This location at Potomac Yard has very good customer service. The waiting area is quiet and conducive to calm. The reception is always cheerful, and efficient.The massage by my therapist, Denay, is very skilled. I have tender skin and my sensitivity required a light touch. She applied a light to medium touch for my session which released back tension and was very soothing. The results of our session was total relaxation, which allowed me to enjoy a higher quality of sleep that night.I highly recommend Denay and Potomac Yard Massage Envy!

I have been a member of this particular Massage Envy for years and have come across so many wonderful massage therapists and the stretch therapists. The people at the front desk are so friendly and helpful. Though I do miss the nice little tables that used to be in the restrooms with lotions but I guess maybe that changed due to Covid

DO NOT open an account here. It took 3 months and several phone calls and emails to close my account. They continued to charge me after I closed my account. One time visit is fine, do not make the mistake of becoming a member.

Second massage with Massage Envy... ever! This time with Elena - simply excellent 👌 👏 👍 and now I have two favorite pros at the same location. Loved the experience and plan to be back at this rate of success, listening, and service in a smooth fashion.

This was my first time with Kas. I liked his technique and firm pressure.

I was going to sign up for a membership here. The facials are advertised as 60 minutes but mine only lasted 40.When I asked why so short - they said this is standard for “hands-on time”.I have acne and the person who did my facial shamed me the entire time. I’ve had a lot of facials and never been made to feel so small. My skin is very inflamed post facial. Every time I have come out of a facial my skin has been soothed and looks better, not worse.

I hate to give away secrets but Gene’s the best! Ami is stretch queen and Asia is top notch at the front desk. Would love more anesthetist options for facials. Sena has been great and my go-to but can sometimes be hard to make an appointment with. I would agree with the negative comments regarding customer service experience last Fall. I too was ready to cancel my membership based on feeling pushed into a service by a CSA who clearly needed training. HOWEVER, that issue seems to be a rectified and booking has been seamless/no hassle. It is a clean facility and I feel like I get what I’m paying for.

Mike H. was very nice and professional. If you enjoy soft to medium touch for your massage, he is the Massuese for you.

The massage was decent but the massage therapist didnt seem as if he was having a good day. Didnt ask about pressure, didnt say anything except what he was required to in order to complete the information on his tablet. Part of the experience should be the good vibes given by the massage therapist. The front desk staff was phenomenal!

I was actually going to stop coming to massage envy because I was very disappointed in the customer service I received on my last scheduled visit. After waiting for over a week for a manager to contact me about the issue I had I was still going to cancel my membership. Im speaking to the manager I thought she was being genuine and said WTH let me just get me a massage and stretch . I was setup with an appointment with Lili who was out of this world . Lili was very professional and knowledgeable of her skills. One of the best stretches and massages I have ever received anywhere and I have been a lot of places across the country. Very appropriative of her services and professionalism. DeNay is very good also.

Ive had facials from other massage envy places but I keep coming back to the Potomac Yard location for Mogi. Shes the best. The other estheticians dont take care my skin like she does. Will continue to recommend to my friends to go to her. :)

My first time and I was well pleased. The young lady (my apologies, I do not remember her name) at the front desk was sweet and patient with me. She took her time explaining everything to me and she did it with a smile. Elena my massage therapist was amazing. She asked questions, explained the process. Her voice was soothing and the massage was relaxing. It did help that the place was very clean and organized. The entire team was professional. This location is on S. Glebe Rd

This location is great location, the front desk staff and customer service is amazing. I believe you just have to find the therapist that suits your massage needs. This is true for any location. I have had therapist at this location who was suitable to my massage style and it was a great experience, I had another who was not and that experience was that experience.

Dont get a membership... you can never cancel. They keep saying that the Manager only works on Saturdays, when you call, no manager is available. Drop by? Sorry they stepped out, not here on Saturdays... who told you that? Im sorry.... YOU CAN NOT CANCEL A PLAN.Edit: they wanted me to reach out to a portal, I did that only to be told you had to show up in person. I finally found the manager on the right day pretending to be someone who didn’t want to cancel… then basically ambushed her. Again, don’t get a membership.

Morgan was excellent to help me get scheduled for exactly what I needed & helping me visit this new location and new area. Elenas massage service was great. She is the perfect therapist to see for injuries. She worked my shoulder and back pains out perfectly.

Leading up to my appointment I was not looking forward to this honestly. It was my first time but I was able to get comfortable eventually. Surprisingly I enjoyed my experience. It was very relaxing, leaving all I could think is I can’t believe I didn’t go sooner!

Ive been seeing Kassahun at this location for over 2 years now, despite moving closer to multiple other locations. Hes the best massage therapist Ive experienced in the area. Kass is a kind, conscientious, and thorough massage therapist. He always addresses any pain or tightness I mention and always finds and fixes other problem spots! I feel like a new person every time I walk out the door. If you are struggling to find a knowledgeable and highly proficient massage therapist, look no further! The environment was great! Massage was pretty good. It was deep tissue which was a bit painful, not what I was used to but it was a massage nonetheless it made me feel a lot better.

Im not happy with the process of appointments, I had an appointment with Crystal on Thursday ar 1p.. received a call just before my appointment time, stating Crystal was not available and my appointment was canceled. ( no 24 hr notice) no consideration of my time and planning. I was offered Friday at 5p, with Michael, which I accepted. Unfortunately I has a medical emergency with my mother, I called at 2p informing I wouldnt make it.. was told alright, but then got a call, sayings I had an appointment with Michael at 7, I inform staff person, that would be good if there was a 7p, even though, the initial time was 5p, I was then told NO, we canceled your appointment already, and we will still take credits, because we have to pay our staff.. really !! One wheres the customer service, two, should like a deliberate way of not attempting to accommodate me, but took my credits, this is poor customer service. Youre inconsiderate of my time, but want me to be considered of yours. I do plan to write a public review regarding this. And strongly considering terminating the membership.

I have been a Massage Envy member for almost a decade and have been going to this location for many years, largely because of the quality of the providers at this particular location. Gene keeps my back healthy and makes sure I stay pain free. He is thoughtful, makes sure to address my concerns each visit, and is an all around lovely human. I really enjoy getting facials from Mogi too. She can make your skin look amazing after just one visit and gives the best facial massage I have ever had. Highly recommend visiting both of them if you can.

My therapist is THE BEST!! I love that he uses the chest pad. It makes it so much more comfortable for women when laying face down. Others should use it as well. His massages are so therapeutic which is what I need. I feel as tho he gets all the kinks out of my body. Hes top notch!

Denay was good. She is a good masseuse. However, I did not appreciate the fact that I paid for 40 mins instead of 60 mins. My girlfriend & I were filling out forms on the iPad. We shouldnt be penalized for that. I used to be a member there so I definitely didnt like how that went down. Despite that, I still tipped both masseuses accordingly

I have several auto-immune disease include Lupus and RA and massage therapy is a critical part of managing my conditions. I have been going to the Massage Envy Potomac Yard location for the past 6 months and have had nothing but positive experiences. I have only used one therapist who is EXCELLENT (NOT sharing the name as their availability is already limited, lol)! The front desk staff have also provided excellent customer service. Prior to joining, I had heard negative things about other Massage Envy locations however, that has not been the case with this location. I highly recommend it!

Ive been a member for years. Yesterday was one of the experiences yet. I had a great stretch session with Michelle. Then immediately after a 90 minute massage with Michael and to top it off a 60 facial with Nidgi. I feel great literally from head to toe! Thanks Massage Envy near Potomac Yards!!

It was my first massage and it was Fab U lous! Ms Denay was my masseuse and she hit all the right spots! I had just complained to my husband about how my upper back and shoulders were killing me. Ms Denay used her hands and kneaded the knots out...I SLEPT LIKE A BABY! I didnt get up in the middle of the night to adjust myself or pillows, I going back to Massage Envy...friendly staff from the time you enter to the time you leave, very calming ambience!

My masseuse Crystal provided med - light pressure. She was personable and attentive! Mogi provided my microdermabrasion service. I have been receiving facials from Mogi for the past 2 years and it has truly improved my skin. Overall I love this location and the front desk staff are always helpful.

I’ve been going to Massage Envy in different states etc since 2007 (FL, MD, VA, GA). They are generally good-no problems. However, THIS review is to specifically shout out Chrisnise at Potomac Yard. She is very knowledgeable about massage and the body and knows how to work out my knots! She’s my go to massage therapist!

The staff are very nice. My check in was efficient. Thomas was my therapist and my massage and he did a very good job targeting the points that needed attention. I can feel the difference in my elbow and wrist; I’ll be scheduling another appointment with him soon.

My experience was great! I totally enjoyed my massage and reflexology experience.I felt like I was floating afterwards. My technician Kasshun did everything I needed and my muscles were much more relaxed. Kassahun made me feel very comfortable and safe. I enjoyed my experience so much I booked another appointment immediately after.

Her energy was off, she ask what was I getting done? Then she said what areas are the focus I begin to talk and she suggested my physician, then she ask about the pressure she’s applying and I respond little more and she responded she is not a deep tissue massage therapist. Then about half way she ask how is feeling and I said no comment and she suggested that I speak with front attendant at check out. She stopped my service about 5 minutes before time ended. She insisted on massaging areas like arms instead of problem areas and her massage was extremely light and soft not even medium.

The staff are always welcoming upon entry, and efficient in getting me checked in so I can enjoy my full service. Most recently I have had excellent massages by Elena and Elizabeth. They both use my desired pressure of medium to firm and focus on the areas I highlight as needing extra attention. I will definitely be requesting them again.

Everyone in front was very nice and professional , I got there before my time would start. Unfortunately my massage started late and I saw the massage therapist that was assigned to me walk by and then go back , when I looked he was in a conversation with two other therapist! I had to go inform the front that I was waiting , my session started late! He is a great massage therapist , but I think someone dropped the ball.And I noticed that the bathroom toilet was not clean, and it was pretty early in the day

So Gene is my go to guy. I’ve seen about 3 people but he’s the last LOL Don’t fix it if it’s not broken, right?? You will have to book a bit in advance but well worth the wait !! He doesn’t rush and makes you feel comfortable. Thank you Gene!!

I’ve been with Massage Envy for a little over 5 years and the experience, across all locations, has been consistent in terms of customer care and the front desk (S/O ME - Potomac!) customer service experience. Gene is an amazing Massage Therapist; he is very attentive, knowledgeable — understands the anatomy of the body — and works tirelessly to correct any misalignments or pressure/pain points. He also educates you, after the session, and offers additional at-home resources/guidance. He provides a premiere customer service and massage therapy experience!! He’s one of my favorite massage therapist at Massage Envy! Gene Rocks!!

I read the focus areas, as per my physical therapist, to the masseuse. She acknowledged the amount of work on my lower back but did not focus on those muscles. Instead she attempted a full body massage. I eventually asked, “wouldn’t this time be better spent on the focus areas?”She said, I thought you were getting a full-body massage, after previously acknowledging the muscles to focus on. Also, no one I have talked to has ever had their face rubbed during a massage. Not to mention, rubbing over the eyes? Are the masseuse at the Potomac Yard location supposed to wear masks covering their face, not their neck?

Janay is great. She is friendly and gives the best massages. The staff is always friendly too. I go monthly and they make me feel welcome.

Elena is a very experienced and educated specialist, as you probably know. She also has a very kind disposition. I give her too marksI try to go for stretching with Amy after my massage with Elena and was able to do so yesterday. It was a watershed type if session with Amy. She knows her stuff and is able to establish trust, which us important in stretching, which can be painful. I give her too marks as well.

Jim is your masseuse if you like deep pressure.

I dont know why the reviews for this place is so low, but I never thought about coming in here because of the bad reviews. I decided to give it a try two days ago, and I had the best massage of my life. Go with Elena, she is REALLY good and she listens to your chief complaints and painful areas and is good at massaging accordingly, instead of giving a routine upper body massage as some people do. Customer service is also good. I was prepared that the front desk customer service isnt good due to the reviews, but multiple times I called they helped me patiently and was very helpful.

I have been a member of massage envy since 2016. This is the only location I have ever been to that has upcharged me for the cost of a visit because my member credit isnt valued at the same price. I will not be returning.

She is a GREAT MASUSE but my 60 min massage was about 35 minute. I did not like that at all. She was totally professional, totally professional, Good communication, she is the BOMB.com but I want all of my minutes to receive all of her blessings. Outside of the time I would give her a 10/ten.

Kassahun really knows his way around a body. He did so much work that I didnt know I needed until the massage was over and I felt instant relief. The experience was relaxing and very much needed. That was my first time getting a hot stone massage and most definitely will not be the last thanks to Kass. Not only that, but Mogi the Esthetician was very detailed and thorough with her work. I’ve been seeing her consistently for a few months now and I’ve noticed a drastic improvement with my skin. Altogether she’s made me very confident in my everyday life. Mogi the esthetician was amazing as always! Don’t sign for a membership, they will hold you hostage. The company will ask you to file a complaint on their website but really they can’t do anything.. instead the regional rep will direct you back to the location cause your worst decision to have a membership is with them.

During my visit there were 2 clients in the tranquility room coughing. No one from massage envy asked them to leave. I was not feeling comfortable I decided to leave I was then later notified that I have to pay a cancelation fee because I left . When I explained to the manager Nancy that I was feeling uncomfortable in my environment because people were coughing she told me I still had to pay a cancelation feethe cancelation feed. Then later I Receive a text message to rate the company. Saying that their customer service is priority asking if I felt safe inThey are environment. Period of course I did not and thats why I left.

Big fan of this particular location. I was a member here Six years ago and when we moved back I tried calling some of the closer spots only to be incredibly disappointed before ever entering the building. Lovely staff here and qualified, good masseuses.

Denay is probably the best massage therapist I have had at Massage Envy since I joined 10 years ago. She is personable, respectful of her clients, and her draping technique is highly professional. I have been working with Chrisnese for the past year and she is incredible. Chrisnese, listens really well and checks in with the pressure level. She asks questions about my comfort and activity level. She is attune with my body, and gives great tips and suggestions. She finds the big and little crevices and focuses her healing in those areas. I will continue to see her and feel really fortunate that she is my therapist.

I’m pretty happy that I have found this massage envy location! I had my fist facial with Mugi. My facial was amazing. My skin felt smooth and looked glowing after the facial was done. She gave great advise for continued skin care.

Cancellations by them come as late as when you’re on the way to your appointment. Constant cancellations make this place so stressful it’s just not worth it.

Service at this location is terrible. Everytime I call I am told a manager will contact me and no one ever calls. I have wanted to cancel my membership after my 2nd visit to this location. I started going to a different location to avoid the customer service at Potomac Yard. Now that it is time to cancel my membership I am getting the run around. I was told that my membership will not be cancelled until a manager calls me back and I have to sign a cancellation document. So they hold you hostage as a customer because if they never call you back, your membership is never cancelled. NEVER get a membership at this location.

I have only been a member for about 4 months but the feeling I get every time I come here is great. The front desk is always welcoming and makes me feel valued. I found it best to get the stretch then the massage to help relax my muscles since I am an athlete. I am looking forward to my facial on Friday.

Denay has ALWAYS given the best massages. Shes always polite, considerate and applies just the right amount of pressure for me.During my last visit, Sunday, 1/23/22, Denay spent a little more time on my feet which was great. I recently went to my podiatrist and was told that I have to massage the bottom of my feet more using a little medicine ball. The amount of pressure and time she took on my feet was positive and in line with my podiatrist’s suggestions.

My therapist was very thorough and listened to what I needed. She is the best therapist I have found in quite some time. I’ve booked 4 additional appointments with her.

The staff was friendly and professional. However, I did not leave relaxed. I came to Massage Envy to use up gift cards that I had been given. The environment was not very soothing or relaxing to me, especially not being able to shower afterwards.

Im on the verge of canceling my membership because of this location. Any time I try to call to schedule or change an appointment, it goes to voicemail. I call during hours of operation throughout the day and it ALWAYS goes to voicemail.They have also not been able to successfully transfer my membership from my previous location. I filled out the form with a bill showing my new address and sent it to the email provided back in October 2019 and it still has not been updated. The last appointment I had they tried to charge me an extra $10 because I wasnt visiting my home location. How is it my fault you havent processed a form I filled out four months prior?Lastly, the last massage I had at this location, my massage therapist got me from the waiting area 15 minutes past my appointment time. She assured me I would still get my full time and then also mentioned I was her last client of the day. Needless to say, I didnt get the full time as she was clearly ready to clock out.

There was a fire alarm 5 minutes into my session. Had to evacuate the building. The manager and several employees assured me that I wouldnt be charged a full session (one hour) for the 15 minute massage I ended up getting. That was a bold-faced lie. A few weeks later I found out they charged for the entire session. The massage wasnt even that great...like the guy didnt know what he was doing. I asked specifically for my calves to be worked on...he didnt even touch them. Shady business practice AND bad massage. Definitely dont support this place with your money. Go to the one in Clarendon.

Worst customer service EVER!!! ... I was given false and misleading information by a massage envy associate at the Potomac Yard location and then due to no fault of my own forced to pay $75 for an extra massage at the Woodmore location. I was promised two 30 minute vouchers towards any service as a promo to sign up but was never given them. Nor was it explained to me that I needed a paper voucher in order to redeem these promo sessions at the time of service. You are one company, so your terms and conditions as well as how you process promotions should be consistent and uniform no matter where the client chooses to receive their massage service. DO BETTER!!!

Amari is the absolute best! She always listens to what I need that day, applies the perfect amount of pressure, and is a great conversationalist if that’s something you enjoy during a massage. Can’t wait for next month!

The actual massage treatment was of a good quality but the customer service rapidly deteriorated since the time that I signed on. I feel sorry for the practitioners there. I dont mind a few flubs here and there but there seems to be a blatant apathy towards improving the customer experience. Even canceling my membership was an ordeal, and now I have three sessions left and though I cannot use them because of a medical issue (surgery), I would still have to pay extra to transfer it to another person so it doesnt going to waste. What they dont seem to realize is that all of this stuff works off a good customer experience and supply and demand. Though they are cheaper for a regular massage, I now feel like paying extra that would actually go to the therapists and for better service is far more worth it than patronizing Massage Envy. I would not recommend these folks to anyone who seeks massage therapy for stress-reduction and a pleasant experience. Dont be fooled by the price comparison!

I get massages often and just moved to the area. I tried two people there and they were alright. Definitely not a sports massage. Probably a great deal if you are just looking for a therapeutic massage or some of the other services they offer.

Wonderful. First experience with rapid tension relief. It’s similar to what my chiropractor uses- the percussion tool - but more targeted. She was very nice and I was so relaxed.

My usual experience is great when I have come to get a massage, and I have family who have also been satisfied.I gave a birthday gift for a massage to a family member today who completed the computer profile prior to the session and was specific about the target areas. The technician Elsa (Asian middle age woman) proceeded to massage in my family members hair, attempted to touch her buttocks, then rushed through the remainder of the session. During this period the technician was continually redirected and reminded that the massage profile was completed and she was not following what was requested by the customer.My family member was so disgusted she left without explaining the situation to the manager Sasha. I had a conversation with the manager who offered another session to my family member my concern is to have this woman retrained or let her find another job.I was disgusted to learn that this woman could be so unprofessional to not focus on the person and the reason why they selected to come in for a massage. I will definitely be informing anyone and everyone who frequents this location to be aware of this woman and choose someone else!

Me and my significant other called the 3600 South Glebe location and spoke to Rodney at 12:29 pm, October 24th regarding a couples message. We began the conversation with asking if the location had any specials. Rodney replied stating no specials but intro massages started at $70.00. We specifically asked for a couples massage to which Rodney confirmed a 1:30 pm appointment.He requested we be there at least 15 minutes prior to the appointment to fill out the required forms, asked us for our information and to secure a credit card on file but will not be charged until the session concluded and had the option to pay with another credit card.Sounded awesome as it was my significant other’s birthday. We arrived for our session , filled out our information on the tablets and waited for our couples massage—only to be told there were no couple massage sessions available. How? When we were confirmed!We explained to the two receptionists and the massage instructor (tall African American woman) that we were confirmed for a couples massage. We asked for our promise as patrons to be honored and was denied . We asked to speak with a supervisor, only to be told there was no senior leader available.We had to ask for a card of the managers information, only to be told there were no cards available. We had to ASK for the information to be written down. Here lies several concerns...1. The location’s staff booked us for infeasible session.2. Had to ask questions regarding receiving the manager’s information— a C. Lewis information.3. And our request was not honored nor discounted due to the mistake on the staffs end and due to no one having the authority to CALL a supervisor or make an informed decision.This situation caused stress and somewhat ruined the element as we were anticipating a couples massage- especially as birthday gift. This request was on our bucket list to do together as we are working professionals with children and wanted to experience our first massage together. Thank you Massage Envy! Companies need to understand—front facing staff can drive well paying customers in the opposite direction! Will not be back.

Facial and massage was great! Staff is very professional!

She was 40 minutes late and no one told be until i asked at 30 minutes of waiting. If i had been that late it would have been cancelled. The massage was good but waiting that long is unacceptable. My time is valuable as well.

I have a manufacturing job, making my upper back filled with knots. Elena helped release the tension in my upper back so much after just one session. Highly recommend her, and this location!

I was on my way to my appointment, had driven all the way across town, and was about 2 minutes away. My appointment was in the next 10 minutes or so, when I received a phone call that my massage was cancelled. I have a lot of patience when it comes to customer service, but they didnt even try to offer me another available time, or some sort of coupon for wasting my time and gas. I will never recommend anyone to go here. This exact same situation happened to one of my friends as well.

My FIRST experience with this Massage envy location and I didnt even make it to the physical location!... Im not sure if the employees care about the customers ...well ill say the receptionist or whomever makes the scheduling for customers.I called on SATURDAY March 2nd at 3:30pm, to schedule a massage for Monday evening after work...The receptionist told me she had nothing available that day & all week until Friday...I wanted to call another location but I said okay ill wait ...Friday is Cool! So she offered Friday March 8th at 4pm and told me that I should come in no later than 3:45pm.Potomac Yard location is about 45-50 minutes from where I live... I wanted to get out of DC and enjoy a new location ...I received a call at 2:35pm on Friday ... 1hr and 10 Mins before my arrival.. I came to Arlington to have lunch so I can possibly beat the traffic .. HUGE inconvenience by you guys to call me an hour before its time for my massage ... the receptionist didnt care ... she just told me The therapist had something to do, or something came up, but I do have a 90 minute at 5:30 I can squeeze you in for ... I paused... because there was no other option.. I already wasted my time and gas coming to Va...but I couldnt wait until 5:30pm.I cancelled the entire massage for wasting my time all week! I waited for you guys to cancel and being okay about it. Thanks

1: The receptionist who I spoke with couldnt grasp the fundamentals of providing detailed explanations. If I give you my credit card number, I expect to know why you need it, how it will be used, and what happens if I cant make my appointment or cancel..none of this was explained.2: As a first time customer I shouldnt have to ask for the first-timer discount. Next, they tried to sell me the enhancement as if it was included...its not. They didnt bother to explain what an enhancement was...again, failure to provide the most basic of details.3: Massage was mediocre and the masseuse didnt bother to ask my preference on what type of massage I preferred. The consult was an absentminded formality.4: After the massage, the staff tried to bilk me outta more cash with the youve got some leftover tension in your neck shtick. The future appointment was phrased as a demand instead of a question; I demurred, obviously.5: I left a 20% tip on the discounted amount that I paid (70), however, the receptionist tried again to swindle me out of more $ again by trying to make the tip 20% of the non-discounted rate of 100.6: The overall experience was made spectacularly unpleasant by the not-so-subtle attempts to upsell me at every chance. To me, this was a perfect example of how to aggressively lose a potential long-term customer.7: Reading through all of the reviews, both and new, this seems to be an ongoing problem that management refuses to fix. I guess the aggressive upselling profits outweigh the complaints.

Shout out to Mr. Thomas ! You will have a great experience with him always. Mr. Thomas is very professional he talks about what you need and he gives you recommendations after your visit to at home. He the best that’s how I always start my week off get a massage at massage envy with Thomas ❤️

The massage and the customer was great.

Bad customer service! Most importantly, they tried to charge me 2 tips from the gift card which had the tip already included. And they knew it. After not agreeing to become a member, the assistant had a weird attitude. I also had to wait 15 minutes because they forgot about me. The massage was ok, the facial pretty good. Although the bad impression of the staff makes me not wanting to go there ever again.

Denay was excellent in massaging my pain points. My body felt complete relaxation. I enjoyed her professionalism and look forward to booking with her again! 🙏🏽🙂

Received Deep tissue massage with Amari. Excellent friendly staff! I was able to relieve prolonged tension and completely relax. Amari keeps a firm deep pressure consistently throughout session. Felt grounded renewed after working with Amari. Amari keep doing what you are doing! Look forward to the next one.

Very helpful and friendly front desk staff, the entire scheduling/welcome team is genuinely there to help you always are greeted and assisted with grace and attention to detail. Wish I had a specific name but Ive been helped by several of the team members theyre great👍👍👍
