Well I love it. A kind of perfect middle ground between Club 27 and like the Vault, less bourgeois than the latter, less hardcore than the former. The tables are good. I only know one of the bartenders but shes an absolute pro (Kara, if mgmt is listening). If you play pool or enjoy drinking, do yourself a favor and check it out. Also, not for nothing, but its by far the most beautiful sunset-mountain view in town.

It’s a super fun bar you can hit up for a night out in Asheville. Definitely more for a younger crowd.

Super awesome bar with a dance stage, pool tables, foosball, an outside smoking deck, and plenty of booths/seating. Tons of parking and staff was great. Can’t wait to come back!

Will never come back. Was removed from the bar because a woman who HAD to go to the bathroom and was in a hurry to do so. Got upset when I turned around and said “wait, in line like everybody else”. She had some rude comments to say back, so I defended myself with my words, and she thought it was cool to throw a drink in my face. I walked away at that moment, and the bouncer walked up to me to remove me. I was not belligerent, trying to instigate anything, or even intoxicated to a level that I should’ve been removed. The door guy asked me to leave, so I left. Oh, and the band guys that played the night off 2/16/24, I hope y’all can see this, all of you are weak, and boys. Trying to start a fight outside, looks real cool. I was one man, and there was 5 of you all at one point in my face. None of you did anything. Y’all were scared, y’all will absolutely never go anywhere playing in a bar like shakeys. I’ve seen y’all play there a few times before, so clearly you can’t get any other gigs.If you support free speech, do not go to shakeys. They will remove you for being a free thinker/speaker, or even just defending yourself verbally. Poor display of professionalism, and a bunch of punks work there that could care less if I was assaulted by a woman who had to urinate before me.Will absolutely never go back to shakeys, and that is unfortunate, it is a cool bar

Best bar in Asheville! Except the “bartender” with the cap on that made my pizza. You can tell that she just didn’t want to be there. Made our pizza and just left it at the bar without caring who it was for. Not sure why you’re working there if you hate your job. Other than that, the other bartender with the tattoos was great! Always with a smile and answered everything with all the charm in the world.

Just had a really unfortunate interaction here with a patron that claimed to be the owner. Homophobic and threatening remarks and atmosphere despite the inclusive signage on premise. Disappointing experience.

I love this bar! Such a regulars vibe during the day and the perfect mix of dive/late night/dance vibe at night. The female bartender with short brown hair (I think her name is Kara) always plays the perfect tunes on Sunday evenings. Also, it’s actually affordable booze and IN downtown Asheville.

Great bar. This is my go to spot when I go out for drinks. Friendly staff and friendly crowd. Lots of events throughout the week and easy to make friends!

Honestly the best experience I’ve ever had. I was there with the bartender Morgan and one other patron and we all got along really well. I saw an ex who I did not feel safe around and they handled it with grace. I appreciate the all of the staff for having my back and I felt super supported. I would definitely spend your bucks on a bar like this. 🥰

Had such an amazing time last Wednesday! Sexy tunes night was so much fun and the bartender Lisa made me an amazing cocktail! Will be back again! Best late night bar in Asheville :)

Went there 3/25/23 the bartender was really rude! Taller white guy with (man bun ponytail) heard hes the owner. My brother brought me a drink and himself one. I was standing behind him in line. I was up next and asked for a beer , before I could even pull my debit card out and pay/tip , he told me this is you guys last drink cause you didnt tip. Remind you this was my was my first time coming to the bar that night. Never received the beer I asked for, he told me the beer was being sold by the entrance. Basically telling me to get out. Never had no altercation nothing!! Like wow thats how you run a business? My brother spent 30 something bucks on the drinks alone . I was next to get a beer and leave a tip!! Never gave me a chance cause he was mad my brother didnt tip him . Gotta treat people better than that, that come spend they had earned money with you!!!!

Both bartenders looked me in my eyes and didnt serve me. When one did get to me, I asked for a canned beer and paid for it. One of the bartenders chased after me asking for me to leave a tip and the $3 dollars for the beer wasnt appropriate and they work for a tip. Excuse me if my arrogance got the better of me but grabbing a canned beer and having no people skills when serving isnt worthy of a tip. Not a cool experience.

The music and drinks are decent but you would think that the long line they keep you waiting in would lead to a packed place but nope! Waited 30 mins just to walk into a nearly empty bar. Seems like you have to know someone to jump ahead of the line. Waited that long for a dull experience

It is a dive bar for sure. It was okay but went during the week and early. Id be careful in that lower parking lot at night as we watch several homeless people looking in cars.

Definitely one of my favorite bars in Asheville. Awesome staff, too (we all know Andrew is the real mvp). If youre in the area, Id highly recommend doing so 🤘

If you’re a person of color do not come here. The person checking people in told us (a group of brown people) that they were at capacity and it “was one person out, one person in”. We kindly left and stood outside while we decided where to go next. As we are speaking, a group of white people came in and were let right in. Absolutely disappointed with this establishment. It was the first time we came here and wanted to experience this place. Sad we were discriminated against.

Stood in line for about forty minutes waiting to get in because of “full capacity.” However, me & many others in line noticed that they allow others to go in at “full capacity” if it’s regulars/people that they know. All the waiting led to a bar that wasn’t even “full.” Music was good but that’s about it.

Very fun club! Andrew took very good care of us and was very accommodating. We will definitely be back

I used to love this place, now they have a bartender who is extremely rude and arrogant. I have only had good experiences with everyone else. If you hate your job so much, find a new one. I’ve gone here too many times with her working and her attitude was always the same, bars are not the place to let the b**ch flag fly, especially when it’s your job to make drinks. My friend was even made to feel unwelcomed for the first time ever in this establishment, we aren’t loud or rowdy, so it’s really uncalled for. It’s not okay, do your job and be polite. Period. Also if you’re dog friendly only to a certain time tell people who bring their dogs BEFORE said time so they can either take their dogs home or choose to leave them in the car. It’s not okay to say your dog friendly and then kick people out abruptly because of their dog because you have a cut off time for pups. My dog is extremely well behaved and has come with me to this bar plenty of times and stayed all night. It’s okay to have new rules of course but again courtesy and politeness needs to be a priority in this establishment.

Biker bar turned eclectic paradise, one may find a hippie or two hanging out alongside a Harley-Davidson enthusiast, enjoy a drink by the river, or hang out inside to play a game of pool, or chill out and enjoy music in their open-air front space. Full bar available, with drink specials throughout the week, music, entertainment, as well as bootie-shaking dance parties and the occasional drag show. Be sure to check it out! You dont want to miss this one.

This is one of Ashevilles best kept secrets! Amazing bar right on the french broad!!! Very laid back atmosphere, ALL walks of life are more then welcome and everybody gets along with each other!!! They have specials every day of the week and live music all the time! Im proud to call this place my local watering hole!!!

Its really a local joint, although we are welcoming to all (as members and semi-regulars. Great fun by the river. A dive bar, really, but a really great place to hang out and see the true personality of Asheville. Love it!!!!!!

Booty Tuesdays with DJ Meow Meow is the best. The music is hip hop, trap and some old school sprinkled in. The crowd is ecletic but friendly. And its by the French Broad if you need a break from the dance floor to take in nature.

Fun loving crowd frolics in an alcoholics dream den; the beautiful tramps of Asheville have a new place to congregate thanks to Good ole Charlie, of Sovereign Remedies fame (go there, too, for haute mixology & charcuterie).Charlie removed a thick layer of pre-flood level filth off this dingey biker dive and retained its basic integrity; the homey allure of $2 Cup ONoodles and a free flowing popcorn machine with diverse seasonings.An excellent dark & stormy may be had for just $5 and many local canned beer selections are only $3. Hippie-centric playlist could be improved, but cliquey​ patrons seem happy.Karaoke & DJs come in some nights...cool hang.

Came here for the Thursday night karaoke. Wasnt too packed got my songs in. Crowd was real friendly. Drinks were good. Couldnt ask for more

A great place to go except fri,sun and Monday when rude bartender (Linda) works. Sorry to have to note this but am left with no choice. Other than that I highly recommend!!!!

Classic no frills dive bar that is very dog friendly. Nice spot in the back where you can hang out by the river too!
