Best African food I have ever tasted in a restaurant setting! There is a complete difference when experiencing eating fast food that is intentionally made at home! This place had food that you can only get from your mamas house! The jollof rice and beef was amazing! They even made it to my personal likening! The waiter was patient and gave me the best experience!☀️ I was even greeted by the owner his self 🇳🇬Now the night experience was untouchable !! No need to explain just know if you’re in ATL it’s a must stop! Thanks again for the amazing experience! RED ROOM 10:10
It was a nice vybe. Nice lighting, red room like the name stated. African food, Try the suyah it was amazing. The music was great, people do actually move to the beat. Good hookah, however the bartender was not trained and could only serve shots and chaser, I wanted a little something else. 20% gratuity added to all bills even as a single person though so just fyi
This was not a planned visit but I stayed almost 2 hours. I loved the atmosphere. I didn’t eat anything. I had to go to the bar to order drinks. That could have been because we got there early but it was after midnight so I don’t know. I wish they had a dance floor. I didn’t like that we had to pay for parking but I will definitely visit again. That way I can stay longer and get the full experience and rate it. Stay tuned.
Service was by far the worst experience I’ve had in Georgia. The wait time was at least 2hrs. They ran out of food while I waited and forgot to pack one of my dishes. They automatically charged gratuity that wasn’t deserved. The portion of fish was healthy but the flavor fell flat more so than any African restaurant I’ve ever went to. Just blan so the wait wasn’t even worth it. $58 dollars and probably won’t come back after a friend recommended. The dj and drummers at least made the wait entertaining. Late night spot if you’re hungry at 6am
I didnt get to try any food.... But the environment was so nice. Good music and mr soul was very friendly and cool ! We will be back 😁
This restaurant charges gratuity of 20% built into their bill even for TAKE OUT order.. VERY DUBIOUS!!! I did not sit there for 1 min… I did not go to club there.. I simply ordered over the phone and came in to pick up.. nobody served me!!!What is gratuity for????Food not tasty.I ordered take out so I can talk about the atmosphere. Please make sure to check your bill before you pay. Before you become next victim!!
Contrary to the name of this place, ABSOLUTELY NOsoul food is sold here. The first and foremost thing I noticed here was an EXTREMELY awful smell!I tried to eat outside of the box and try African cuisine so maybe thats a thing with that particular type of eatery or perhaps it was the smell from the tripe they sell here .Anyways the food was EXTREMELY AWFUL not to mention very expensive. For 3 sides and an Entree I spent over 50$, and waited 40 min for a togo order even though the place was empty the entire time we were there , which was around 1030 at night .I had the beef patty, plantains and rice. That was 33$ for some reason.. my gf had something called joffe rice, was sliced meat of some kind with rice....Food was hella dry and old and to be honest it seemed like it was someones leftovers that they boxed up instead of our to go order, my gf ate a good bit of the rice since the meat was dry and flavorless.Whilst eating she bit into something hard and discovered that there were many toothpicks under the rice which was weird considering the meat was already sliced and nothing was skewered in her dish, soooo upon seeing that, starving or not she had had enough. I got home and decided to eat my beef patty and found out that someone had already seemingly taken a bite of it !!! Disgusting!!!When I called you to the restaurant to speak to a manager, I was out on hold. After waiting nearly 20min on hold, someone hung up on me .. I called back 3x no answer, waited an hour and called again..AGAIN I was put on hold, after 10min I hung up and called back, someone picked up the line and when explaining what happened, the girl was laughing and having a convo with someone else . . When I asked to speak to the manager yet again.... AGAIN I was hung up on!!! Rude!!!AVOID this place at all cost nothing about this place was appealing... besides it being the only place open late that wasnt fast food. This was my first attempt at So called African food and Im def not a fan. Will NEVER come here. Again...
This place is definitely an after hour spot. They have good authentic African cuisine here not a fan that the meat and sides are sold separately tho
Its the best Nigerian spot you could ever imagine!! The DJ was super good, with nice vibes and great drinks!! I loved the atmosphere!
This was the worst African spot I have ever been to. They charged us $52 for 2 very small plates of goat meat, Jollof rice and Plaintain. I was trying to try a new place out - and it was a big mistake !! How can you justify charging this much money for 6 pieces of bone and a scoop of jollof rice - they are cheats and crooks. Don’t waste your time and money- go to Southern Suya- they are the real deal. Not this BS.
Best food I ever tasted! The owner really showed us a great time. It was a vibe!! The music was bussin!
I put it to you that all the positive reviews here are fake. If I could give zero or negative stars, I would.Went to this establishment on a saturday night at 10pm. Firstly, all the waitstaff were laying down on the couches at the back of the restaurant. Like one literally took our order, put it in the kitchen, and then went back to lay down IN PLAIN SIGHT of us paying customers lol.I ordered the spicy grilled turkey and my friend ordered peppered snails. The portions were abysmal (see attached photos). My spicy peppered turkey was $17(tax included) and my friends peppered snail was $22(tax included). To make matters worse, snail on the menu was listed as $15. When we asked about the price difference of $7, she said that was the old price from the old menu. THIS RESTAURANT HAS ONLY BEEN OPEN FOR < 3 MONTHS! WHAT OLD MENU??? Also why werent we informed about the price difference when we ordered?I like to support small businesses, especially african restaurants, because their ROI usually takes longer than their peers. But I dont think these guys really care, or plan to last very long. Also, the turkey was dry and overdressed with paprika and parsley. My friend said there was more pepper in her bowl than snails. If I were you, Id take my money elsewhere.
The vibe is 100% . Not over crowded . Loved the vibe . The DJ is 100% legit !! He’s amazing
A friend of mine took me to this location in Atlanta, and introduced me to Suya, and I’ve been an absolute fan of it ever since. I’ll get it at least once a week on Uber eats now and I absolutely love it! I wanna go back and try the other options for sure, but I would recommend it so far.
Wonderful staff, great vibes, even better food. Will definitely come back again
Food is 💯! You can’t go wrong with the Red Room by Mr Soul delicacies . Plus the workers and the owner are very nice people . Mr Soul himself made the kitchen cook fresh noodles for us everhough we got there few minutes late .I will be back again for sure .
Mr. Soul sure does know how to throw a party. I like his new venue, it’s spacious, I love the dj being in middle, it’s a vibe. Food is always good. The suya noodles is my favorite…
Definitely a VIBE! If you’re in ATL this place is a must. Service was great, music great, overall energy of the spot was out of this world. You’re missing out if you don’t go. Still thinking about the food now, wish I could go back in time.
This is the best Nigerian vibe I’ve been to in Atlanta. It is the closet you can get to Lagos.
Newly renovated and new ownership. Mr Soul is quickly transforming RED ROOM into a MUST for your weekend vibez. You can always find Celebs in there too.Best bottle prices in town, Best food in town, Great service and always Awesome DJs and Hosts. Cant go wrong when Mr Soul is involved.
The atmosphere is nice. Music and tv screens...The food tastes good. I had 2 orders of lemon pepper wings. They were REALLY small. The coating was VERY light but were crispy and tasted GREAT. That explains the second order. Each time I counted my wings, I was short one wing. When I got my ticket I noticed the receipt states theres an AUTOMATIC 18% gratuity. The lighting is low so pay attention. The problem is the fact that another screen popped showing suggestions for an additional TIP! My bill went from about $27. (I ordered a canned soda for $3.50 but was charged $4) to about $36. The extra tip (my min. is 20%) put my bill at about $42. Are you kidding me? From $24 plus taxes to about $42? For Double charging on tips? Tips on tips?Heres a tip: Bring your reading glasses. Count your wings. Enjoy the atmosphere and music and remember you have already paid 18%.Tip for Mr Soul: Get at least 20% tips, but stop double charging. Fix that charge machine and have the cook count to 10 for wing orders.
The revolving table for the dj was unique. Makes it stand out from other lounges Ive ever been to. Also the lighting matches the name of the club. Great spot overall to go to enjoy your time.
Went in last night. Order was really simple side of jollof rice and an order of plantain. Rice was burnt and plantain wasnt cooked properly. Literally made me gag and spit everything out. Tried to receive a refund, the young lady with the blonde hair refused. Im not sure if its because Im American and she thought I didnt know what I was talking about but Im very big on international food, especially anything black because I am apart of the diaspora
I thought this a Nigerian restaurant with a Nigerian cook. But na this food is trash. I repeatedly go there hoping maybe it’s the batch I got or something but everything I’ve had there has made trash and overpriced. The noodles have too much oil to coverup their no sauce and it’s overpriced with 4 bits of suya and 3 shrimps. The asun have 5 pieces of skin and no meat, it’s burnt and the price doesn’t make sense. The goat meat is 3pieces of bone with orange stew!!!!! The white rice tasted stale and leftover the Jollof rice is even worse. The kitchen is not meeting the kitchen standards of a Nigerian restaurant.
I got a lot of food but the goat head (isiewu) and it was the best I had tasted in the US. All the other food were all on point. I travel a lot, mostly for work and I try to represent the motherland by searching out Nigerian places in every city. Mr Soul, I am definitely coming back for more.
Jollof rice tasted burnt!!! Fish had no seasoning at all!!! Wings was super tiny and definitely did not taste like lemon pepper!!! They must’ve forgotten to seasoning EVERYTHING!!! SUCH A WASTE OF MONEY… $72 ON TRASH!!! Never again… I really can not believe they gave me burnt tasting rice though lol I’m baffled!!! It’s definitely Money over taste with Mr soul Bistro… They don’t what they serve or how it taste as long as they get the money!!! LE NOUVEAU MAQUIS IN STONE MOUNTAIN IS BY FAR THE BEST AFRICAN FOOD I HAVE EVER HAD IN GA… I’LL STICK TO GOING THERE…
I personal love the chicken peri peri and turkey with the coleslaw it’s heavenly!
The food is amazing…. It’s so delicious…. Great customer service. Always a vibe again the suya is amazing
I got me a fufu and it was fire no cap I enjoyed that, after that my hookah arrived it was smooth 10 pm was not that busy, Great vibe and dope place 100/100.I’m definitely coming back again
This restaurant included 20 percent gratuity for takeout. This is really unfair. If I want to tip,Ill tip,but dont force customers to pay 20 percent gratuity for a take out order.I wont be coming back here.
My first time here from Vegas “ west coast “ I love the experience .The owner is super nice I will sure be back with my people .
Spicy ponmo… was not spicy. Just stew chunky at the top that wasn’t spicy but a regular stew. The asun… was not juicy… not spicy… not well seasoned… noodles were dry…. Just…not good.
Mr Soul rich noodles of life is beyond explanation. Everyone needs to try that noodles , grilled turkey & grilled goat (Asun ) . Its the best ever .
I love the vibes here, definitely the after spot to go on a Saturday night cuz they are open so late. I was in there dancing all night! Everyone was so nice and I even lost my keys and wallet there; I definitely thought it was gone for good but when I reached out a week later they let me know they had it and kept it safe for me to come pick up!
I Just ate at the Cafe! First, the environment is very nice and relaxing! Now let us talk about the FOOD! My favorite item on the Menu is definitely the Spicy Turkey! It’s a must have! They have the best jellof rice too. The customer service is definitely good! They showed care and concern. They came by to give updates on our orders. I will be back again and again!
Customer service is A1, food is top notch. Highly recommend
Great! 1st class customer service, friendly and laid back. First time trying egusi -The staff was super friendly and showed me the traditional way of eating it with yam :) The spiced Turkey was the best. Call ahead to see if they have it, they slow cook it and I was lucky to get the last one - I just came in for a quick bite, but will come by when Im looking for a hookah lounge too. Thanks guys!
Visiting Atlanta had always been on my bucket list, and what better time to do so than on my birthday? As a result, on September 4, 2022, I decided to book a one-hour flight from Missouri to Atlanta on the weekend of my birthday. And it was in Atlanta, Georgia, that I discovered Mr. Soul Bistro and Cafe, located at 3253 Buford Highway Suite 770 in Atlanta, Georgia 30329, USA, which is close to Peachtree Creek, a significant stream in Atlanta. It flows almost due west for 7.5 miles (12.1 km) into the Chattahoochee River just south of Vinings.Mr. Soul Bistro and Cafe has been described as an authentic African restaurant serving the best Nigerian cuisine. and providing a genuine African experience by combining the flavors of Africa with a vibrant environment and great music, all of which have been proven to be true and more. Starting with the taste, the restaurant offers a wide range of dishes from south-western Nigeria to the north, including efo riro (not as delicious as moms, but close), isi ewu, and a very spicy pepper soup that I thoroughly enjoyed (but my sister seems to think differently).Moving on to the nightlife, they had the best playlist, ranging from afrobeat to highlife, combined with a great ambiance and first-rate reception and customer service, and I never want to leave. It also draws a large number of Nigerian celebrities. As a result, your chances of running into Burna Boy are quite high.Hence, if you ever find yourself in Atlanta and looking for some fun experiences, be sure to stop by Mr. Soul Bistro and Cafe and enjoy all of its avocations.
EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING! The food was amazing, staff was friendly, and environment was great! My recommendation is the Indomie and goat meat. I love coming here for dinner or even for after hours! Its super fun for after hours and friends and I always can dance all night. Great place.
The suya was delicious, the jollof was okay as well but I’ve had better. Also the dodo was not ripe enough to my liking but to each their own! The beef was also delicious 😏 satisfied with everything but the dodo.
I seldom do stuff like this but the disappointment from the order today is enough to make even the dead rise to complain. I ordered suya, peppered turkey, and peppered snail. First, the order arrived really late, and while I can manage late delivery if the order is properly cooked, the appalling taste of the meals only made things worse. Second, the peppered turkey and snail appeared to have been fried in stale tin tomatoes rather than proper fresh Bell and other pepper. The snail was hard, burnt around the edges and stirred in fried tin tomatoes. Worse yet, the Turkey was boiled/poorly fried-the internal part of the turkey was barely cooked. Of all, anyway, the suya appeared to be fine. A huge disappointment!
The oxtails were BANGN!!! Great place to relax and enjoy yourself!!
I had a great experience here. The service was great too. I will be back. I loved the barbecue chicken and beef suya
Joan was my Uber rider today and on the way to getting her to work (at Mr. SOUL), she and I started talking about the food here. She said the food is really good and encouraged me to try it. I dropped her off and cancelled my other rides and walked in right after her. I had no clue about the names and titles of food, but that was fine, she helped me all the way. I got it to go and me and my daughter ate the turkey legs and that red rice. I swear, that had to have been the best meal Ive had since Ive moved to Georgia 7 years ago! Its a tad pricey but I DONT CARE its awesomely delicious and I cant wait to go back! Thank you Joan!
Wow ! i thought i had seen it all when i had their jollof rice , suya and fried goat meat . Then my friend put me on to their spicy rich noodles ....That is for sure a game changer right there . I had to order 4 more plates to go on the same day . Everyone needs to go try the noodles and then come back with your honest comments. Plus the owner Mr Soul is an amazing person and very humble too .
I ordered egusi soup for $26 and this is the tiny bowl that was sent with no goat meat even though that’s what I selected on Uber eats. They then refused to pick up the phone. An absolute disgrace. Do not order from here
Everything I tried at the lounge was phenomenal, from the spicy turkey wings, jollof, egusi & pounded yams. The vibe was really enjoyable, I went back the next day! Also, the owner, DJ, and staff were very accommodating. (: (;
This food is bomb! I heard that they had fallen off, but I was informed that they have new chefs and it def shows. The jollof rice was exceptional as was the fish. It was late night, yet the food didn’t taste old or stale. It was fresh and hot.
We went late night after hours and ordered a bottle of Don Julio Reposado. It was already poured into a plastic container. We never really did see the bottle. And, the price was outrageous. The bill just for one bottle was a few dollars short of $600.
WOW! This might be my new hangout spot. From the vibes, the music, the food… everything was amazing!! I encourage everyone to go check this place out 10/10. LOVE IT!
BEST JOLLOF IN ATLANTA!!!! The rice is to die for and compliments the snapper perfectly! Jonathan took very good care of us and made sure we were happy with the service, food, and comfort. I would recommend Mr. Soul to anyone! Can’t wait to go back!
How can you not like MR SOUL.From the food to the hookah to the vibe. Very peaceful & Organized. The owner is also a really honest & generous guy. Long live MR SOUL. I love this spot
-THEY CHARGE 18% Gratuity even though it doesn’t say that anywhere on the menu. The waitress said it’s because of “covid,” I feel like that should have been said prior.-Looks nice inside.-Food was good. I had the snapper & jollof.I wouldn’t come back again. $45 for that meal isn’t worth it to me.
Mr. Soul bristo/cafe is the spot to go when you need quality food in the middle of the night. Very great food and quality service. Would recommend this place 100% ALWAYS.
Careful, we gave $100 bill for last drink on Xmas early morning. I was with a friend who lives in Brookhaven. The bartender never gave back the change. We were being nice to her and she took advantage of. Her argument was it is Xmas and she would adjust it for next visit.?Am sure thats not going to happen. Never going back again. Who would!
The best mix of Afro fusion , food , vibes and everything you can think of . Every American should try their food .
I loveeee MR Souls spirit I can tell he’s a humble and genuine soul . He always goes out of his way to make sure his customers are pleased . The waitresses are pleasant as well and make sure your good . I come here often and the hookah is good and long lasting ! Some places you get hookah you always need new coal but not here lolLet’s talk about the food ! I love egusi and the egusi is amazing ...I don’t eat suya but the suya is to die for. There aren’t any Authentic AFRICAN Lounges / restaurants that stay open as late as Mr Soul with good food and service .Ok I’m done lol please check It out !
4 stars only bc of the RUDE waitresses/bartenders. I follow Mr Soul on snapchat and I told myself its a must I go when I make it to Atlanta. The security, the crowd, the music WAS A VIBE.Came from Indiana and would definitely recommend!
The food here amazing, host is A wonderful person. The ASUN here is to die for. PULL UP AND FUNICATE. 🍾
I went to this restaurant for a bite to eat and it was some of thee best Efro Riro I have ever eaten. The vibe was everything. I was approached by Mr Soul himself and was very impressed by his energetic spirit and hospitality. I will definitely come here again. Thanks once again!!
I love this place!! Good food, good music, good vibes!! They are open late night, if you want to enjoy suya, hookah and Afro-beats without a crowd go before 2 am lol
Want proper 9ja indomine, visit this place. You would keep eating till you cant get up again. The meal is 100% on POINT.
I loooove Mr. Soul Bistro & Cafe! Nothing but pure vibes! If you’re looking for pure African vibes , music, and food please stop by!! Best on Buford Highway !!!
The Dj’s at the spot every night during the after hours are supernatural . Also getting great food at those late / early hours of the morning are nothing but a blessing . Its a true taste of africa .
I paid for 3 boxes of Suya and paid $54 taxes included but it was worth $10 , because the suya of all the 3 boxes fits in just one box. I asked to speak to the manager and she said they scale it, which is why it’s that small. Please make sure to focus on customers concerns.
The most nastiest food I ever eat. I Ordered Nigerian Jollof Rice and it taste more like Ghana jollof rice because that food almost killed me very serious the food almost took me to ER. talking to my lawyer about taking this to court for attempted murder
Such great vibes, great owners, top notch service!
Food was flavorful but tough. Music was WAY too loud. If not for that, would be a great scene. Hookah was good though
Great vibes Good music and food is a must try! Very good establishments, we will return again🙌🏾
Best After Party Lounge and Restaurant in ATL hands down! Sounds by amazing house Dj’s Tipex, Smove, Vque & Rundatrax! Always a vibe!
Amazing food , beautiful waitresses, good vibe till 6 Am, I will definitely come back
Very nice african foodBest ambianceBest after hour spot in Atlanta GeorgiaHighly recommended!!!If you wanna eat good food ,have good hookah and a very nice ambiance come to Mr Soul Bistro cafe!
Extremely packed. Hard to walk and breathe. Its very ghetto. DJ of afrobeats is pretty good but not the best in AtL.
Absolutely amazing food, service and atmosphere!
The food was amazing. Great environment, good music, staff is very helpful. Restrooms were clean. 👍🏽 Loved the vibe.
Not the Best jollof. The goat meat pepper soup was the best but the meat might need to be cut smaller. The turkey is best turkey in America
Good food ,good vibe , everything lit , the customers service is very very amazing , y’all need to check this place ,one of the best restaurants/lounge ever. Trust me you won’t regret..🧡❣️
Uhmmmmm the party vibe is top notch but I had food poisoning from this place.I will party here but will I try their food again?NEVER!!
Just left Mr.Soul Cafe. I went to relax and experienced a Melt Down Monday lit 🔥 Vibe. Service was fantastic friendly staff great music and food delicious. It’s my knew spot!!!
Amazing experience , beautiful place and great music
They have the best food in Brookhaven. I would invite the world to come & eat here. Great service. Especially Joan
Chicken was delicious! I’ll be back time and time again
Good food ( except their jellof needs more seasoning) . Everytime I walk in, I see a dirty table , Chairs scattered and employees chillin on their phones... it needs better management.
So first off the special rich noodles are amazing. This is one of my favorite places on Buford and the atmosphere is awesome.
Good food but it’s usually very crowded and the service is horrible. A server changed her tip after it was written in. Beware.
Good plantains and music and crowd...they reuse water to clean there hookahs instead of fresh water from the taps..... not safe during COVID
Jollof rice among best in the city. Love the hookah as well. Great after hours spot
Love the vibe here the DJ is A1 and the food Is on point!
If you want pricy food and small portions this is your place never ordering here again sticking to ikes !!!
Great food and vibes, will definitely be back
Very good suyaBut the dancing and standing space is so little since theres so many sections.Would come back for the suyaIt is fire
Very overpriced and bad customer service. Be prepared to see the servers laying down or sleeping if you go there at night. . . Don’t waste your time going there . Truth
Amazing food with great service and its also a nice place to chill. I will be there every time am in Atlanta.....
Horrible food. Refused refund when I found frozen meat in my stew.
Id you want African food in Atlanta, Mr Soul is a good choice. The food is truly African.
This place is insanely expensive for the quality of food they have. I would never go back again and they are located right behind my house.
Awesome vibes. The food is to die for....Would definitely recommend anyone to stop by and see Mr. Soul..
It was a good time. Loved the vibe. Food was great.
