It’s officially pride month and I checked out Mother’s lounge for the 1st time this past Sunday! I’ve lived in BR for the past 2 years and didn’t even know this place existed! Thank goodness for the internets! 🥳I was welcomed by a chill crowd and a friendly staff! The people were busy minding their own business and giving much focus to getting their name on the list to showcase their karaoke skills! I met some awesome people and look forward to going again!
Beautiful interior, great music, amazing atmosphere, committed and incredible staff. Absolutely loved it here. There’s a huge age Range and it’s clear all are welcome. My girlfriend and I went last night for the first time and will definitely be returning regularly. The bus boy , Will, and his general manager made my whole night. Couldn’t reccomend this place more!
The vibes are IMMACULATE! If you are looking to have a fun time with friends, meet new people, or explore Baton Rouge’s night life, this is the place. From the friendly staff to deliciously crafted cocktails; Mother’s Lounge is the place to be. The Sunday Night Karaoke is my favorite attraction but let’s not forget about our Dancing Queens because who doesn’t love a good drag?
Mothers Lounge is the best bar downtown by far! The atmosphere is always great, and the staff never fails to impress. The upstairs and downstairs bars are clean and visibly taken care of; and the outside patio is a cozy place to end the night regardless of the weather. You will struggle to find better drinks anywhere in Baton Rouge and yet they still find the time to rotate the menu, while serving food deserving of a Michelin star or two!Mothers Lounge boasts some of the most fun events downtown. Drag shows, DJs, and Karaoke have kept me coming back every time. They somehow manage to do all of that while making you feel safe. The bouncers truly care about everyone and will not hesitate remove someone causing trouble or help someone get an Uber home. If Splash is high school, Mothers bouncers, bartenders, and management all deserve MBAs. They mean business and they are here to stay.
It was ok….Just ok!We went out looking for a good time. And to dance. The DJ…….Well…..He had a hard time getting people onto the floor dancing because the music was terrible. I believe out of the entire evening 2 songs were known (and danced too). The drag queens were fabulous! Funny! And entertaining! The place was clean. Nothing fancy. The fact that the bouncer didn’t stay nearer the entrance made me a little nervous. The kid (and I say kid because he’s way younger than me) at the front door handing out the bracelets made me nervous after he and two of the bartenders were all snorting “something” 😉 out of a little brown bottle. That completely ruined it for me.Not our kind of place. Thanks anyway.😊
Mothers Lounge opening up has been one of the best things to come to downtown baton rouge in a while. The staff is friendly and welcoming and make some of the best cocktails i’ve ever had. The drag is fantastic and the djs are fire every weekend. I have an amazing experience every time I come and i’m so glad to have a queer bar that i can feel so safe and included in.highly recommended mothers for any date night or queer get together you have!
Definitely a hidden gem in Baton Rouge!! Great food, drinks on point, and people/service outstanding! Going back for the show and karaoke!
Absolutely lovely place, everyone is so welcoming and kind. Never had a bad experience at Mothers! Was looking for a new place to go as a member of the LGBTQ+ community and it is THE place to go. Alyssa is awesome:)
The food was amazing! Blu and Alyssa were fantastic hosts. We are definitely coming back for karaoke and the shows!
My husband & I stopped by one Sunday evening before going to a concert next door at the Manship Theatre. The atmosphere was modern, the bartender Ryan was excellent & very helpful in food & drink selections. We will definitely be back to enjoy this upbeat new restaurant/lounge
Great atmosphere. Friday and Saturday there is a DJ and the music is really great. Phenomenal drink and amazing food. Sunday Karaoke is to die for.
This place fills a desperately needed role in the area: a lounge-type bar for the queer community. Theres a small dance floor and a stage, but there are also cushioned chairs and a quiet(er) upstairs for sitting to chat. It drips ELEGANCE in its decorations. The food is delicious, but you dont get very large servings from what Ive seen. Theyre meant to be lil appetizers. The drinks are Delicious, and its worth trying each one of their specialty cocktails. On the Grand Opening night, it got pretty stuffy. The AC couldnt keep up with the open doors and TONS (packed like sardines) of people. I think a few fans to circulate the air inside would do wonders for the main room. Not an issue at ALL on less busy nights. Im 100% sure theyll fix it, if their attention to detail says anything.Overal incredible. Exited to spend my weekends here!
Everything about Mother’s is amazin! You have to try their cheese bread 😩🤤Love the atmosphere and service. All around the best bar in the area.
Super cute place! They play music that seems to cater to various tastes. 4/5 stars because I think it’s silly to pay a cover when patrons 21+ will buy drinks at the bar.
Love mothers! the vibe is always great. drinks are tasty, and bartenders are cool 💜
I always had a great time here. The Atmosphere, staff, food, drinks, music, services, and shows were top notch.
This place claims to be a safe space for LGBT people but is actually incredibly homophobic. My boyfriend and I were harassed by a bouncer all night. I do not recommend coming here at all
My friends and I love coming here for a night out, it’s hands down the funnest place in BR. Cassini’s our favorite bartender!
The atmosphere walking through the door is beautiful and welcoming. The temp of the building is perfect. And this delicious drink is absolutely gorgeous
Y’all bar person blu is the best he’s a sweetheart
Great drinks, amazing DJ, beautiful spot and Trent took great care of us!
I absolutely love this place! It’s so cute and takes me to another place with the dark room and colors. Thank y’all for playing great, popular, and current music!
Only reason it isnt 5 stars is the music choices .
Perfect for BR. Staff is awesome and they have stuff happening just about every night of the week. Just we needed here! Thank yall!
First time there and not disappointed. The atmosphere is beyond what was expected. Will definitely be back.
