BEST MANICURE EVER💗such a clean, kind environment. Glenda fixed my nails, gave them the sleekest shape ever. She fixed a broken nail to perfection. Patiently gave me the exact french I asked for. Never going to another salon again.

Upbeat Beauty Bar is my new favourite place! The staff is friendly and cooperative. Cindy, her husband Sam and their Sons always greet you with happy faces and warm welcome. Every type of service is done with highest quality - beginning with manicure and ending with a relaxing beck massage. Love this place and its atmosphere. You can easily feel it is a Family run business and I love that about it! My favourite person is Naomi - professional, kind and exactly who I need to spend time with once I decide to have the relaxing ‚me day’! I already can’t wait to be back!

My girlfriend dragged me to get her nails done and she had a great experience. She loved the friendly and attentive staff who made her feel welcome. The salon was spotless, and the ambiance was perfect for relaxation. Her manicure turned out beautifully. She highly recommends it. Next time we come back just know its not her getting her nails done! 10/10

Really disappointing experience. Extremely hasty and rushed which was odd bc there were only 2 other clients in the salon, and there were more employees than clients.Asked for round nails (and showed a picture so there would be no confusion) and got more squarish nails instead. The tips are pretty straight. When I pointed this out to the pedicurist, she shrugged and said “it’s fine.” One nail was cut and filed completely crooked (the owner took a look and agreed). Pinky nails were jagged. Spent approx 8 second per foot with the dry skin removal. Leaving the salon there was dry skin visible on the edges of the nails. No nail buffing whatsoever so there are also visible ridges. Left feeling very scammed. I have given myself better pedicures.Tl;dr: my toes look worse leaving than they did arriving.

I was here for regular pedicure and manicure with glitter last month, and I for sure love the quality. The regular pedicure withstands for the whole month and did not chip. They have whole range of colors to choose from as well. The manicure is amazing as well. Even my nails are growing the nails the shine remains. Amazing service and super friendly staff. Would definitely go back!!

BEST SERVICE EVERYou come here for the clean manis & pedis but you stay for the massage and hospitality.Everyone was so welcoming and the owner even picked out a color for me that I fell in love with.The atmosphere is super relaxing and the massage while my nails were done, made me melt even more.I got the gel mani / gel pedi / 20 min massage / brows for $138.Best damn nail salon I’ve ever been too and I’m from LA.

Visited today after having moved out of the neighborhood earlier in the year. Didnt realize ownership changed, but pleasantly surprised to see the quality was the same, if not better. Had a great gel mani and regular pedi with a 20 minute chair massage by Sam. Best massage Ive had in a long time, Ill definitely be back for a full 60 minute massage soon!

Very friendly and accommodating staff. clean and calming space. nails shaped and painted just as i wanted. the quick shoulder massage was excellent!! this might be my new go to nail salon and i live nearly a mile awayi opted to get the more expensive nail polish which i don’t regret paying for because it dried super fast

I’d go to anywhere else instead of herethis placed used to be my favorite spot, for 2yrs+ straight it was the only place i would go!it was just taken over by new management and they have increased prices for lesser services (and ruined the customer service)youll have to ask for hand lotion and a hot towel after your manicure, good luck thoughwhen i asked, can you file this rough spot that was sticking out - or can i have another coat of gel - my tech was sincerely offended!peak discomfort = when sherry told me that she is “new here but has been in nails for a long time, even if i cant tell”yikes

Have been coming here for a few years and can’t say enough good things about the place and service. I’ve gone to other places in NY for pedicures but this place really does the best job. Polish lasts so long, they use a wax on your heels and the staff is meticulous to detail

Clean and friendly. Staff worked with me to match the polish color to the reference photo I brought in. Standard nail prices, around $45 for a gel manicure and $22 for regular polish. They also offer Dazzle Dry nail polish for an extra $10. They listened to what I asked for and my nails look great!

Came for a spa pedicure and manicure- Ive never felt so pampered!! I did the bamboo charcoal pedicure and it left my feet baby soft! The salon is brand new and so beautiful, it really felt like a spa day. Will be back again soon for a treat myself day

Great place for pedi but they are lacking with their manicure options. They do not offer gel x and colors are limited as well. That being said this is the only salon in the neighborhood which I get a pedicure. Clean. Thorough. Kind.**editing post today’s pedi. Went in for a pedi. The tech was rough with pushing back cuticles. Scrubbed over a large bruise on my leg. Barely exfoliated feet. When it came time to massage she just applied lotion. For the price paid for the pedi I’m going to check out other salons in the neighborhood.

Lovely salon that gives an amazing pedicure! The nail technicians are really thorough, the massages are great, and everyone who works there is really nice. Would definitely recommend!

Really wonderful above-average, upscale nail salon with average pricing. The manicurist’s skill was undeniable, and they gave me a phenomenal glass of homemade sangria that the owner made. The manicure was pleasant, and Erika my nail tech was lovely, so I am giving 2 Stars for her service alone💅The reception at the entry was rude and didnt look up from her phone when I came in for appointment. I was waiting for my tech, so I politely asked for some nail polish remover. She was annoyed that I asked and barely moved from her phone again.She reluctantly handed me cotton balls and I removed my own polish.Upon checkout, the receptionist charged me extra for removing the gel- even though I did it myself while she played on her phone!I asumed this was an oversight, but when I requested a fair & customary refund, she became combative & argumentative.I feel that the staff here works very hard, but the management is dishonest. They lack the care and concern for both their employees and clients. Its evident in how she spoke to staff and to me. Its saddening to see this poor practice & poor work ethic by management.I feel taken advantage of. I question whether I will return. Her poor attitude was tolerable, but sneaking extra money off a card when a client isnt looking is unethical.Im so happy I asked for the receipt.I have a low tolerance for individuals who are dishonest. She was so cheap that she only credited me back half- stating that I used her materials to remove my polish. You would think a could use a little remover and cotton after paying $32 for a manicure- NO! That was $10 extra.What a sneaky scam😓

I always go to Soonae for waxing because the technicians are amazing and whatever sort of wax they use is very gentle on my skin. Everyone is super friendly and welcoming.

I moved to the area recently and Soonae Beauty Bar is the 4th nail salon in Greenpoint that Ive tried. The others have left me with nails that look great but break consistently, less than pleasant attitudes, and straight up badly polished nails. Soonae is the winner! My friends and I came here for the first time over the weekend and found the salon to be warm, clean, bright, and inviting. The woman who did my nails (Karen) was incredibly meticulous during my gel mani and pedi. My nails look perfect--seriously, this might be the best mani/pedi Ive ever had. They also have a rewards program that allows you to earn cash back on your services to apply to future visits which is a nice little perk. I cant wait to go back! Highly recommend.

I was disappointed as my manicure was very expensive and I was hoping the quality would match. Unfortunately my gel nails have chipped four times already within less than a week. Usually gel lasts me at least two weeks when I’ve gotten it from other salons. I also found the manicure to be painful which is usually not my experience during cuticle trimming.I will say the salon is beautiful and the customer service was great. The guy at the front desk is passionate and excited about the business which was great to see.

I will not recommend Soonae. I dropped by as a first time guest for a gel chrome manicure and eyebrows & 3 days after the service the nail polish was chipping and peeling off.I stopped by during the week and made attempts to get it fixed but they were always busy. On the 7th day post service I called and was told they were busy but I should drop in the next day. I showed up on the 9th day post service and was told I missed their fix policy window which was never communicated to me, despite being in frequent communication and stopping by throughout the week.My encounter was rude and felt condescending. Despite all of this, primarily I wouldn’t recommend because the nail polish didn’t last. Photos attached below.

This is one beautiful nail salon. Really nice inside. Really relaxing. The employees are really attentive and pay attention to detail, as well as friendly. I also appreciated and enjoyed the hot towels and hand scrub with my manicure.

This is my new favorite nail salon. I’ve come here and been to many of the nail salons in greenpoint and they’re very well priced and a smaller place than the bigger chains. I like this and their quality of non toxic gels and the colors. Very clean. They use an autoclave and priced well compared to other places. Quality lasts. I’m a regular here now.

Soonae is very well done - clean, updated, great selection of regular polish (which these days seems to get the short stick of selection in most places). I got a pedi, the basic of which starts at $37, which is reasonable based off service, cleanliness, and outcome (it looks great!) That said, they didn’t give me the option of their more involved pedis which I had considered doing when looking online - but on arriving to the chair, the water had already been prepared for the basic and I didn’t want to ask for something else (my nail tech didn’t offer the option). Good opportunity for the front desk to offer the different options to clients vs assuming they want basic.I also added on a 10 min foot/leg massage for $12 - it was nice, but a little overpriced for what was done. I do wonder if they could perhaps dim the lighting in the pedi area a little bit, or possibly change it to a warm white bulb, as it was quite harsh and intense making it hard to relax, I ended up shielding my eyes which was quite comical.All in all I definitely recommend soonae to get your nails done - it will only get better with those minor tweaks I mentioned, but it’s definitely still good regardless!

Ive been a customer at Soonae since they opened and have always been very pleased with my service(s). The salon is always very clean and my appointments always start on time. Best nail salon Ive been to in Greenpoint!

I work 7 days a week between school and work so I wanted a self-care day. I visited soonae today for the second time, the first time I went with my boyfriend and I conclude that this place is overpriced and service is pretty mediocre. I work in customer service myself and I’m a Spanish speaker / Latin (most of the employees there are Latin) so I immediately started speaking Spanish for a more comfortable experience. Lulu wouldn’t talk to me at all, if she needed something from me she would basically just move her head or move my hands/feet as if I had to pay to get her to talk to me. I got a gel manicure and pedicure and she was not gentle at all, still paid 112.88 + tip. Her finger nails are pretty thin and slightly long so she would hurt me every time she would touch my toes. I’m really not the type of person who takes the time to write reviews or complains about everything but I think it’s important this time because they’re giving very poor experience and I did not enjoy my time there at all. Won’t be going back.

Found this place when I first moved to Greenpoint a couple months ago and haven’t had anyone else touch my nails since (besides when I’m traveling for an extensive period) . The service here is impeccable and a big reason behind that is Cha, he is very attentive. In addition to the stellar nail service, cleanliness, attention to details and all around 360 experience. I always leave with beautiful nails, glowing skin and a smile.

I called this place hours before they were due to close. I tried to get in to get a manicure, a gel manicure I thought. The receptionist answered the phone and I guess there was an issue with their service so I walked over to the location the employee let me in the door, to only tell me that they don’t have any availability once seeing my black face and being male. .They had a service issue with their phone and the receptionist accused me of hanging up on her, and insisted I hung up on her. Then after telling me to come, she lied and said they had no one to assist me. I get a lot of flavor from nails shops being a black man wanting to get my nails groomed. I wish black men could pamper themselves without being judged.

Ive been to this Nail salon 3 times now and every single time it has been a totally delightful, pamper-filled experience. Incredibly clean, quiet and relaxing and both the manicure and pedicure were perfect every time.

Really enjoyed my experience getting a gel manicure with Karen. Will come again soon! Want to find a place that delivers consistent quality :) hopefully it’s here!

Third time here and this place is my new neighborhood favorite. Everything is pristinely clean, everyone I’ve interacted with has been sweet and efficient, and the pedicure is super relaxing. I’m also really pleased that they carry Zoya polish.

Im new to the neighbourhood and was on a look out for a local pedicure. So, so glad I found this place! The interior, service and my gel pedi was 11/10! Would highly recommend and Im super super picky about where I get my manis and pedis.

This is the best of all worlds, right here in Greenpoint! They are kind, extremely professional, have so many colors and mani/pedis seem to last forever. The space is much bigger and lovelier than you’d expect from the outside, and ventilation and cleanliness appears to be top notch. They are reasonably priced and I really cant say enough about how enjoyable it is coming here.
