Northaven Resort

The clothing optional camping experience was fun! The campers are very welcoming and the activities are entertaining. I didnt like that some cant stop talking about politics, but that comes with an election year. The office could open earlier or the room could be provided with K-Cups because 9a is super late for a coffee addict who is normally up at 6:00 am naturally. You do have to pay 25¢ for 5 minute increments to shower, but I heard that may be normal for Michigan campsites. Its just the first time I came across it and it wasnt on their website. Also, they provide towels, bedding, and pillows for the cabin we stayed in. That wasnt listed on their website either and I didnt need to bring my full bed set with me. The potluck was a nice event to participate in, but I didnt see winners posted anywhere for the best side dish contest.

My husband and I just returned home from our second visit to Northaven and it was amazing! We visited at the end of the season (September) last year and while we thoroughly enjoyed our visit then, it paled in comparison to our most recent trip in the peak of the summer.To start, the booking process was quick and easy. Whomever took our call was cheerful and helped us secure the dates that we wanted. We may have gotten used to booking things online in recent years, but it makes sense that NHR doesnt have the option available. Random people are not able to just show up and expect to be let in, but they do offer day passes to their members so sometimes there are folks there during the day who will not be spending the night.When we arrived we used the intercom to be let in through the gate and made our way to The Sexy Sundries General Store to check in. I apologize for forgetting their name, but the woman who checked us in (and out) was wonderful. She made sure we remembered where everything was and gave us a printout with the events and activities (biker/leather themed) that we could take part in during our stay. She was sure to welcome us back and remind us to call or stop by if we had questions or concerns. The General Store is one of the only places on the grounds that require your bottom half to be covered. They sell alcohol, some food from local farms, and convenience store items that can all be charged to your account so you dont have to carry your wallet.We rented Tiny House #1 and we absolutely love it. The unit has a fridge and microwave, a heater and an AC, as well as a tv with some sort of cable box. There is a fire ring outside and charcoal grill as well to cook on and enjoy. It was lovely to have our own shower and bathroom as well. We did encounter an electrical issue (short circuit that knocked out the power) that was quickly addressed by an employee and we had no further problems.The other guests or members that we encountered were friendly and would sometimes stop in for a hello by the pool or on their way along the path in front of the tiny house. Folks tend to wave, greet eachother, and have nice chats but dont tend to linger around too long unless invited. This makes it very easy to make friends, and also easy to have privacy and alone time with your person if you want it.To all of the apprehensive potential first timers out there, I have a few pieces of advice.1)The staff are very approachable and foster a culture of positivity, respect, safety, and fun. Ask questions if you have them.2)Some parts of your body may not have seen the sun for a long time. Wear more sunscreen than you think you need and reapply often. Same goes for bug spray.3) The folks that spend half the year there might notice that you are new and they will absolutely welcome you to the resort. It feels good and brings with it a sense that you are now part of an accepting community.4)If you are on the fence, just go for it. You never know until you try, and I think you will be glad you did.5)The worst part of your stay is, and I cannot stress this enough, going to be getting dressed and leaving the resort to return to regular life. I think I may have gone through the 5 stages of grief on the ride home.We cant wait to go back next year. Thank you to the owners, staff, and other guests for such a lovely stay!

We love Northaven Resort. The owners, Mo and George are fantastic and the staff is excellent. Every weekend is a really cool theme and the members and staff do a great job all year helping with the parties. The pool is a great place to relax, while the Hotel California Bar/Dance Hall is state of the art. The DJs are the best ever. We’re looking forward to going back to NHR in the Spring/Summer and enjoying this great resort. We miss Northaven!

Visited northhaven over the weekend for the first time And was pleasantly surprised with how nice And welcoming everyone was from the owners who’s greeted us to everyone staying at the resort the atmosphere was comfortable. Monique And George ( the owners )were very helpful at check in and George gave us a tour of the resort very clean well managed, we chilled by the pool area in the afternoon they even had a potluck going. We came back for the party at night which was fun. I loved that you can byob. We would definitely go back it’s about a 4-5 hr drive from Toronto ( for any Canadians seeing this )

My wife and I have been there several times and have many more trips planned. The theme nights on the weekends are a blast.

The experience was awesome, from the time we arrived until we left. Owners were at the office when we checked in. Both very welcoming. As we were driving around on golf cart, a couple invited us in and they were with 8-10 other couples. Had a wonderful time at the bon fire. Saturday morning knock at door and one of the couples from Friday night we met and they invited us too breakfast with everyone. Had a great day doing the activity that was going on. Soup cook off was great and the dance was very fun. Owners throughout the stay would ask us if we were having a good time. Very friendly owners and people. Will be going back next summer for sure. Amazing weekend. A slice of paradise. Owners were so welcoming as well as all the members. The grounds are clean, beautiful, and safe. The place is it’s own vibe…come play and feel like a kid again!

Absolutely the most fun weve had in ages. Visited the resort this Labor Day weekend as a weekend guest and decided to become members almost immediately. George and Mo are probably the nicest people and were so welcoming. Felt like family immediately. Property is beautiful. Food is great. We loved the themed nights and how every day/night was different.

I have to say this.😊 Our first experience at a clothing optional resort. From the first moment we entered the serene property through an ornate and stately double metal gate a relaxing feeling pushes you down the drive to a very mellow and accepting crowd. The owners waited for us as we were 2 hours after closing to arrive. Second one we were greeted with a happy and sociable pair of owners. That welcome feeling from everyone was awesome being as we were newbies LOLHands down 10-10 for cleanliness! The amenities get 10-10! 15-10 for a real hospitable feeling and welcoming owners! We spent three beautiful nights at Northaven Resort, and were already looking forward to our return trip! One of the new owners greeted us at check-in and was incredibly friendly. She took the time to walk us through all of the information, and arranged for a property tour for us. We had a very spacious site with a picnic table and fire ring right at our campsite. The pool, bath facilities, office and grounds were clean and immaculate. Every staff member we encountered was gracious and helpful. The campground is large, and very hilly, with all sorts of fun nooks and crannies to explore. We left with new friends and a reservation for Labor Day weekend. This will probably become our go to adults only campground in the future! Highly recommended!

Some of these reviews are amusing!Weve joined the NHR family on three different occasions, most recently over Labor Day weekend, and have enjoyed ourselves each time more than the last. Weve felt like the owners have done everything they could to ensure the guests have a good experience each time weve joined them, and in some cases have gone above and beyond.The public areas are modern and clean, which is a big deal. There are plenty of chairs around the pool, and the owner regularly polices the no chair saving policy, which is nice. The members and guests are as friendly as you could ask for, if youre an outgoing personality. If you are an introvert, chances are nobody will bother you, so dont worry. There is some sort of activity happening there every weekend, which is work that many owners wouldnt want to deal with, but its appreciated.Looking around, one can sense that there is a wish list for the facility, and each year some projects get done. An example is a rental unit for multiple couples was finished this year for those who enjoy visiting with friends. A nice addition! It makes one wonder whats going to be new for next year.This place is the only place that makes us want a camper. If we had one, it would be at NHR. Until then, well be inquiring about an associate membership.

My name is Dustin and I recently stayed at this resort. After exploring many different resorts similar to this one, I have found this one to be one of a kind. The like-minded people are outstanding! Everybody is welcoming and outgoing with a smile on their face.The fact that most members have been a part of this community for many years peaked my interest enough to where I will be making myself a permanent member for years to come as well.This is a fantastic resort that is very well maintained.The owners we’re previous members for years and the way they handle their business couldn’t be better. I am absolutely excited for many years of fun and getting to know these people more.

If your looking for a great adults only nudist resort, then Northaven Resort is definitely a great place to check out. We had such a great time at this resort! My husband and I decided to experience this trip on our own. We found it by googling actually. We were so pleasantly surprised when we arrived! Everyone was so nice and very accepting of us. We both felt very comfortable at Northaven Resort. The atmosphere had a great vibe and everyone was so friendly and welcoming. There were no pressures at all and definitely non-judging. We could make the experience whatever we wanted it to be. We had plenty of day and night activities to keep us engaged and busy. We had many opportunities to talk with people and make new friends. There gathering areas were great! The grounds are lovely and nicely kept. Many nice little touches that show how much the owners and property owners care about this resort. We really appreciated all the fun activities they had planned for the weekend we chose. It was an amazing adventure and we can’t wait to go back again in the spring! Weve been going to this clothing optional resort for years. This place is amazing and does have a resort feel. Clean, well maintained and the owners are constantly adding new emenities. Every weekend is themed and the Saturday night parties are a great time. Its quiet, peaceful and serine during the week. We found our happy place and are sure you will too.

Staff was very welcoming. Our rental was very clean and well appointed. Everything I needed to cook breakfast ! Store had all the supplies. Pool area is very nice, friendly members. Don’t miss the Saturday dance! We can’t wait to come back!!

We can hardly believe its been a year that weve been traveling to NHR! Each visit is better and better. The resort is beautiful, so well maintained. George and Mo are so welcoming ,as is all the staff, and they are truly happy to see you. The members treat you like family and are happy to see you. Also the themed events are so much fun and very organized. Lastly if you leave any of the potluck dinnners hungry, its your own fault!Thank you NHR for all you do.

Northaven is a very beautiful resort where you can let loose, relax and have fun with some of the most amazing people. There is no other place like it. My husband and I have been coming here for 10 years, a member for 8 and now we live here all season. We would like to thank the new owners and the past owners for making this awesome place our paradise.

Looking for some adult fun? This is the place. Ppl respect each other, friendly, very clean and the owners Mo & George are so down to earth. They treat their members and guests like family. We are all a big family. I would say. If you and your spouse want to reconnect, or just have an amazing weekend, please come stay with us and party. My first time there was no pressure to get naked, at all . Did it on my own time. Not something I thought I would ever do, but now you cant keep me away. Love, love The ppl there. The new owners and staff are very welcoming. We went for a long weekend and had a blast being Nude for the first time. There is no judgment so so don’t let that stop you from coming. We rented a golf cart ( that is definitely a must when you go) very reasonable too.

Absolutely love 💘 the people ❤ here ! George and mo have a beautiful place for us to call home! Beautiful clean pool! Games! Clubhouse is immaculate with air conditioning dance floor and much more! You will not be disappointed with this experience and the events are show stopping! I love NorthHaven and look forward to many more memories and life long friends here.

This was our very first time at nhr. We here 4th of July weekend rented the chalet cabin my wife and I couldn’t have felt more welcome top notch resort very clean beautiful grounds. Also fun functions every day. We highly recommend spending time here. We will be back to see all the great people we met.

Oh where do I begin... This Awesome Place is Our Home Away From Home. We look forward every weekend we are going. The facility has been recently totally updated the people at Northhaven are Always smiling and welcome everyone with open arms. So if you to go some where amazing that has something going on fun every weekend treats you like family this is Definitely That Place! YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!

Our first visit was in 2014 and we were hooked! We joined that summer and have been full time resident members ever since. Great staff and members that make NHR both a resort and a community.

This place is ok. Went there on a Thursday in May and it was pretty quiet. Well maintained and courteous staff. A bit of a drive through farmland but worth it.

Call for a day pass. Not giving them this weekend. Same last time I called and the time before. Seems if you are not part of the click (like in high school) and dont have a camper there then they dont want couples for a day...Reply to the ownerI have been to clothing optional resorts, beaches and spas all over the world in my 58 years.There is probably a reason I have never been to NH before having lived in MI most of my life.

Dont expect a warm welcome if not a member of their cult. The green wrist band will identify you as a outsider or rental as the office lady discribed us as she drove past. Couldnt figure out why they seemed shocked I was bringing our travel trailer. When they showed me the site it all made sense. Believe it was one of only two available. And be sure your experience enough to backup your trailer as its the only way out of there. Even as I told them our trailer is 30.Owners? Never got our tour, didnt introduce themselves, not a warm welcome at all, wanted to leave but talked ourselves into staying only because we didnt want to drive 3 hours home.It took us more than a week to remove the recurring weird, cult like image Never again!

Curiosity brought me here many many years back, the friendly members, great staff, comfy accommodations, and the many amenities kept us coming back! We are now full members with our own lot and cant be happier! Give it a try - you wont regret it!

This is not just a campground, its a resort! It features beautiful grounds, a nice bathing facility for visitors, very nice owners, great members and fun activities all summer long.If youre interested in sunbathing nude with only adults, I encourage you to book a weekend.If you like your wife/GF to dress seductively and dance the night away to a great DJ, I encourage you to book a weekend.If youre a single guy, you can hang out for the day but you cant spend the night without a sponsor.If youd like to meet some great new friends, I encourage you to book a weekend. Dont discount the slower weekends, those tend to be the most fun!

Hands down Best adults only resort in michigan. Loved it so much wife and I became members looking forward to many fun filled weekends. Staff is amazing and the resort is always clean.

Love this place, best camping, we have ever done. Family environment, everyone is amazing. The owners are so nice, friendly and will help you out if their able. Come see us.
