I phoned to reserve a room two weeks before I was scheduled to travel in that area. The person that took my call was cordial: when I explained that I wouldnt be checking in until about 9 pm, she told me to simply dial the number above the office door when I arrived. I arrived about 8:30 pm, a little earlier than anticipated, and was pleased to see that the Open sign was still lighted. The door was locked so I dialed the number, as instructed. I got a recording thanking me for my call and a promise to call back ASAP. I waited about ten minutes and then rang the doorbell, then phoned one more time. Eventually I left.A couple days later I spoke with the manager by phone regarding my experience. She apologized graciously and admitted that it may have been a case of employee negligence. Our conversation ended on a positive note, so Ill give the business another chance next time Im in that area.
We checked in last night and needless to say....we checked out not even 5 minutes later. With a full refund. The room looked very nice and cleaned. Until you go into the bathroom and find cockroaches crawling around in the bathtub.
***DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU HAVE ALL YOUR TEETH & YOU SHOWER EVERYDAY!!!!*** Disgusting and has VERY BAD ODOR. They do not clean their rooms PROPERLY. I had to go to the Dollar General and purchase my own bleach and Lysol. Slept on my air mattress. Dog hair, human hair and stains on the linens/towels. Yeah they have a big TV on the wall but wi-fi dont work and thats what your spending your 60 on. Nothing in the rooms are clean or sanitized. The so called housekeepers are sloppy and dirty themselves. The so called cleaning cart has no bleach or disinfectants on it. Only thing I seen was toilet bowl cleaner and toilet paper. O yeah the stained and dingy bath towels. Just take another 15 minute drive to Defiance, Ohio and spend the extra 40 or 60 dollars on a way better room. I rather spend 127 to 130 on a good smelling and sanitized room then to be disgusted and uncomfortable because of a few dollars. The man lets the people with pets use it in front of the rooms.... I work 10 hour shift just wanting somewhere to lay my head down at and to shower until my house is complete. Just going to spend the little extra and be comfortable at the Holiday Inn or IHG location. Bryan Inn is nowhere for a clean and hard working citizen to stay. Its for toothless and dirty people who dont believe in hygiene or cleanliness. Bryan Inn is the DIRTY INN!!!
We stayed there over a month , after the first 28 days had to put the room under my daughters name because they are trying to cover up there shady business doings, then told us we had to leave for 2 days and then we could return. When we go to return and the old women that us supposed to be the manager tells me we cant rent to you because of a couple things wrong with the room we were renting, I asked what that was and she said the bed cover was torn...it was torn before we rented it and the couch had some damage she said from my dogs. I wish I had taken pictures when we first rented the room. I left that room cleaner then it was when I rented it. All the things she blamed us for was like that when we rented it. The couch had a fold out bed that was full of nasty old food and pee stains. Seems the new management is just as shady as the old ones. Save your time and money and stay somewhere else.
Friendly service. Clean rooms and attached to a pancake restaurant. The restaurant isnt affiliated with the hotel but not bad. Great location. Beds were so comfortable. The hotel is close to the lollipop museum as well. Across the street is a gas station. Was very quiet also. Looks like an older property but will definitely stay again. If the owner reads this, THANK YOU!
Clean, comfortable, quiet room, friendly staff. Not a 5 star hotel, but a great place for the $
We came up from over 2 hours away and got the suit with the jacuzzi tub and it was AWESOME! Had a leopard bedspread which I thought was so cool!! Was a very big room and very “homey”. Room was clean and set up nice, with LED plug in lights above the bed, which I also thought was so cool! We had a great time here and everyone was very nice from check-in to check-out! Thank you all for a wonderful New Years!
We have stayed here many times and we are never disappointed.
Dont stay here if youre worried about saving a few bucks. Its not worth it. While the service was good, the room was awful. The shower was filthy, to include pubic hair in the drain. There dead flies on the window sill, and my clean towel had black spots on it. The shower needs service as it would only give cold, or hot water, no warm. Spend a few bucks extra, and go somewhere else.
ETA: response to the inns reply- i apologize i should not have spoke for all the hours of everyday but i can speak for the times i tried to enter the office and it was locked at those times, it probably was after 8pm, so again my apologies for that. The towels youre also correct, i did receive towels when requested not the amounts asked for, that specifically is why Im complaing about that. There was 4 of us and we got 2 towels. Sorry for the misunderstanding.Location was okay, fairly quiet, overall experience less than desired, we wont be staying there again. We reserved our room about a week prior to arriving. Checked in and we were told the double queen room we reserved was not what we were getting because it wasnt available and that was our fault because we reserved online, didnt offer a refund. Just threw a cot in the room. Maid service was basically non exsistant, unless my boyfriend was outside at the right time for the lady to yell at him. The office pretty much stayed locked so we had to call for everything. I called twice during our week stay requesting towels (4 of each), blankets, and toilet paper. Lady brought stuff to our room but not the amount that I asked for and no toilet paper early AM of our last day we ran out... she seemed annoyed I even called. Room was not clean. We wont stay there again.
We got a room and our friends got a room, which we did based on reviews. Our friends room was renovated and fine, not fancy, but fine. Our room was not renovated. That wouldn’t have been a big issue, except it was not clean. Sheets had crumbs and the comforter had hair all over it, like a dog had been in the been. They came and changed the bedding, but there were still crumbs on the tile and the chair was filthy. The toilet “ran” and we had to shake the handle, but it actually broke in the middle of the night. Also, the tub seemed to leak as there was water all of the floor after our showers (not sure where from). Very dissatisfied.
Weve stayed here off and on for years. I asked for recliner in room there wasnt even though I specifically asked. Floor coming up from air conditioning leaking inside. Black mold in shower. One bed broke in double bed room. Floor wasnt even swept. Overspray of paint on everything and bathroom window handle is broken. This is all in room 163. Also half the lights didnt work in room
I stayed here twice, both times for a couple of days, bc I have family near there. The beds were great, the rooms were clean, the staff and owner were friendly and helpful, and it was quiet. The rooms had both a refrigerator and microwave which is important to me. The second time I stayed, I had trouble with my room key. Rather than making me change rooms, which he offered to do, the owner told me I could call him at any hour if it continued to malfunction. He showed up within 60 seconds of my calls, and gave me a discount for my inconvenience (although it was more of an inconvenience to him).If youre looking for a pool or a lengthy room service menu, this may not be for you. But if youre looking for a clean, quiet, convenient place to stay, with friendly and helpful staff, this place is for you. Also, the layout allows you to park right outside your door, nice for me and my back because I wasnt carrying luggage through a lobby, etc.Lastly, I felt completely safe there, which is important to a woman traveling alone.
Room seemed cleanish. The shower walls were dirty however. I wasnt expecting much, I picked a cheaper motel since we would only be sleeping there one night and checked in late, but I have never wanted to leave a motel before even seeing the room until this place. There were loose dogs walking around unattended, despite saying no animals in the description. I assume they belonged to some of the permanent residence there (people clearly live at this motel) thankfully they were friendly as my kids and I werent expected to be greeted outside by dogs. The bathroom window was wide open and the windows are almost ground level, they do NOT LOCK. I was shocked. I had to put things in the track so the window couldnt just be slide open from the outside. The window in our actual room had no curtain. Again, not a high window at all. People can see in. I hung towels over it. The door didnt have a chain lock, and at this point between the wide open bathroom window, the lack of locks on windows and curtains, I literally moved furniture in front of the door as I was there alone with two little kids. Also, I paid for a double room, I stated 4 ADULT guest. I arrived to no vacancy, but when I got to the room I reserved there was ONE KING BED. Mind you, my reservation said 4 adults so that I wouldnt get bumped to something like this. 4 adults share a king bed? Its not like they could move me. There was no vacancy! The front desk clerk was nice and helpful, but I had to call and wait for someone to help me as no one is in the office. Overall, wasnt the worst motel but would NOT book again.
Staff was great. We had an issue with our first room and they had no problem correcting, even the manager followed up the next day. They went above and beyond and switched TVs so my son could still play his game system. Maintenance, who was also very nice even made sure that the tv worked for the game system. The room was comfortable and located in walking distance to restaurants. Also it was pretty and relaxing outside of room as room had seating outside by each door. Will stay again when back in town.
Worst place ever! I used to bring more than 20 people with pre-paid rooms and most of the time we were extending the rooms. This is the last week I’ll let then stay there. I called to pay over the phone the Old lady front desk always is making mistakes oh but not only that! Because she didn’t process the payment and took the wrong information of the card, She took everyone’s personal items out of the room and locked it in another room where she only has access to. This woman is horrible! Since we are definitely bringing business to your place, enjoy the last week of payment. You won’t see the same collection numbers at the end of the month.
Stated here for 2 nights with my husband and 3 children. The room was clean and spacious. The staff was friendly along with the long term residents. Our room was updated with new flooring, a new TV, and new bedding. The beds were old and could have definitely been replaced but overall it was an enjoyable stay.
Okay- so we were a bit last minute- no problem. Price was Sooo reasonable- half that of others we looked at. Room was clean, shower clean, hot, good pressure. Bed was clean, comfortable, with plenty of pillows and blankets (I normally have to ask for more at places). Staff was amazing- easy check in. And the restaurant connected was FABULOUS💯. Some of the best Greek food I’ve ever had. Servers were young- but not immature or forgetful. I was a server once- so I’m kind of a tough judge. We will definitely be back- and bring family and friends. Absolutely nothing bad to say about this place (which is unusual for me). Great stay!! Thank you!!!!
The jacuzzi room was amazing. Its a huge room. Had a wonderful weekend. Very clean. Very warm. Jacuzzi worked and was amazing. The bathroom was very spacious and the showers felt great. The couches and lighting were perfect. Only complaint is the huge king size bed was very very hard. Could not sleep well and our backs and shoulders hurt so bad from sleeping on it 2 nights in a row.
OMG! Worst hotel room I have ever stayed in!! SWEAR!The amount of hair on the bed was unreal! Burnholes on top comforter. Hair in tub on toilet, dirty rag left behind in bathroom....homegirl outside our door all night smoking cigs sitting on a bedside commode!!🤯 You cant make this place up. Was old as mathosal(not a prob) but looked like it was someones apartment under construction. Recliner was NASTY! Pics are enough!
Stray cat in my room. called number for help and they didnt do anything except tell me to take it out and that its normal. room was also dirty, and tv didnt work properly
This place is a great little motel! Loved staying here! Got a great deal on our room. Had a fridge and microwave in our room. The people that work there were supper friendly love that norma lady!! If Im going to stay anywhere around Bryan I will most definitely be staying here again. Nice clean rooms. They have a nice little restaurant with a bar within walking distance (Right behind)
I have stayed many times but the last few times have been bad. I have had to clean the room before I could relax due to all the dirt and dust.
Me and my family enjoyed our stay here. Yes there could be a little more updates but everything happens in due time. The staff all around was fantastic. The Blueberry pancakes restaurant combine with the motel was great. Me and my family will go back to it again when visiting family who stays in the town.
The people here were very nice. This is a pet friendly hotel. There is a pet fee of 70.00 butt if the tuition is OK after you visit them they refund 50.00 back to you. The rooms are nothing fancy but you have the basics. A small fridge a microwave and a small tv. I would stay here again.
This use to be a nice place to stay. I was there last weekend and had read in the paper that someone had a issue for arrest. And now a guy got beated to death. So sad. They have people living there taking care of this place. I didnt see 1 worker who looked like they should be working there. The girl had on short shorts. Leather lace shoes up to her knees. The guy that was working I ask if there was any fruit he said NO loud. I had people with dogs on both sides of me bark bark bark all night. And the music was loud until I called and told someone to do something about it. Use to be a home like place. Wow. Run down.
My family and I stayed here with a group of friends, to where we had 3 rooms. The cost was good and the town of Bryan is awesome. Youre literally just minutes from almost anything you could need.Looking over what we could find about the motel, Bee Patel took over more than a year ago and had previous motel experience, so we were hoping he had brought good changes. From the outside, the motel looks fantastic. But beyond that, the whole motel staff needs help from ownership down. When things were brought to their attention, they were quick to try to resolve matters, and Mr. Patel was there morning, noon and night. But there were too many things that needed attention. The housekeeping is poor and needs some serious training or replacement, as we watched as they went into each room, made the bed, swapped out towels and wiped off the counters, then closed the door and went to the next room. No sweeping, no bedding changes, nothing significant. Seeing that, it made more sense why our bed had hair and a little blood from previous guest(s) in the sheets. Sheets should *always* be changed, and thats clearly not being done. There were also things left from previous guests under the bed, which obviously had not been moved in a long time. Our bed was broken and very uncomfortable, and others in our group said the same thing. The A/C doesnt have a fan-only option to circulate air and provide some white noise. However, the A/C does get the room as cold as you can handle. One evening, the water stopped draining in a whole wing of rooms, but they called a plumber out and quickly got that resolved.Wi-fi went out one day, and they couldnt resolve it until the next.Desk staff is either great or poor, with little in between. The younger girl, although friendly when addressed, clearly has other things shed rather be doing. One apparently longer-term guest was working on his brakes on one wheel while we were there. His car was up on a jack the entire week, which shouldnt be permitted.Ive stayed in a lot of hotels and motels before, and this is toward the bottom of my list. They got 2 stars because the price was appropriate. With a bit of room maintenance and better room cleaning, they could easily be 4 stars and yield a slightly higher rate for their rooms.** UPDATE **Based on the reply of Heather Bible, I felt compelled to respond.1>The person that cleaned our room did *not* lose their job over that, because the same name on the tip envelope at the beginning of our stay was there 4 days later on the last day of our stay as well. So either this was not truthful, or the wrong person was let go. Firing someone isnt nearly as effective as training them properly, anyway.2> Moving the beds once a month isnt cleaning. They should be moved and cleaned under when every single guest checks out.3> Thank you for the offer of another stay, but we wont be back.I sincerely wish you the best in your efforts.
If you are a perfectionist (oh, no! a bit of mold around the tub and soap dish; the light over the bed works by a light switch that is difficult to reach laying down; the very noticeable thread-torn carpet patch; or a couple of stains on the carpet and chair) dont stay here. But if you want a quaint Motel, that is clean and where the owner treats you as a friend (the morning guy, not so much), and has overall comfort, then this is the place to lay your head. My room sports a full size bed, recliner, 42 inch flat screen TV, microwave and mini-fridge. While the fridge sits on the floor oh, and the microwave on top, it works well. And that is my main concern. Also, their is Wi-Fi is secured! Woohoo! So far, its working well for me.A really nice room, at a fantastic price. We will see what the morning brings.I have gotten in the habit of wearing my socks, until Im ready to get cleaned up. So this morning, when I took my socks off, the carpet was slightly damp. I dont know if this was from a recent cleaning, or due to all the rain and 100% humidity theyve been having. When I asked the morning Clerk, his reply was yeah. Nothing else. Though, when I checked out, he did say, have a nice day.Like the motel, the breakfast is an old fashioned continental breakfast of donuts, and frozen waffles (since I had waffles yesterday I didnt want waffles again today). So, I decided to eat breakfast on the road (I had to wait for 60 miles before something finally showed up that wasnt a big chain joint). So, with the damp carpet and the clerks attitude, I had to downgrade to 3 Stars. But the lady in housekeeping wrote a very lengthy note to her guests, which was a pleasant surprise.
Even though we were travelling late, I called for a room and they stayed up to greet us at 11 pm. Friendly and gracious, and great value. The rooms are clean and the bed was very comfortable. Thank you!!!
I am here now dog howling all night the office should call the humane society no one came its 3am this went on for hours animals will make noise but owners should be asked to control their animals there are other guests
1st time in 30 plus years that I have been back to Bryan. (I was born here)I gave 5 stars by comparing it to the other motels in town. An older motel, but well maintained. Breakfast is included in the cost of the room. Simple, but plenty of items available. Cable TV and Wi-Fi is also included.Jane at the front desk is so kind and addresses any of the guests concerns, etc very professionally.Extremely safe small town motel with very reasonable prices. Will definitely stay here again when we come back to town!
Booked my crew in there because we were working nearby . Absolutely the best stay all summer !! The rooms all had there own style and were Very clean and So comfortable !!!! We all ate at the restaurant . Delicious and a big selection of items on the menu , including daily specials !Wish the job would have been bigger so we could have stayed a week ! Staff was so friendly and accomadating .Will definitely stay again if in the area !!!Thanks for a very pleasant, restful evening !
This place is absolutely the most disgusting place we have ever stayed. We were in town for a family reunion and 3 of the families decided to stay here and support the towns local business. My family got a smoking room (I assume because we had a dog), the other 2 got non smoking. The non smoking rooms even smelt gross. The room we stayed in was so gross that we went to the local Walmart to buy Lysol , febreeze, and a Swiffer. The DRY pads on the Swiffer came up BLACK!!! Then the wet ones did as well. The smoke smell was so bad that EVERYTHING we brought has to be aired out/ washed once we get home. The manager comped us one nights of the money we paid up front, but save your money and stay in the next city over, Holiday City.
The rooms are very clean And it is definitely a good place to rent a room. My only complaint is a couple of the staff that work there. They tend to snub theit nose at people and treat them with disrespect like they are better than you.
The woman on the phone to make a reservation was extremely wonderful. The guy when we got to the hotel was kind of the opposite and didnt really know what he was doing. Beds were not very comfortable but it was a place to rest our heads after breaking down on the turnpike.
I was pleasantly surprised. This little place was terrific, from the check in service to the room itself. I will definitely be staying again and recommend it to everyone I know in the travel nurse profession that is in the area.
Colonial Manor Motel is one of the nicest privately owned motels Ive ever stayed in and the price blows the big name chain hotels and motels out of the water. The rooms are huge with high ceilings and updated appliances. The wireless internet is also fast with a large desk area. There was even workout equipment in my room.I was going to stay at a hotel chain near the Ohio Turnpike exit but based on a recommendation I stayed here instead. It was well worth the 15 minute drive. Also, the town of Bryan is a friendly place from what Ive seen. It warms the heart to see rural communities like this that still have a vibrant downtown with small businesses.
Very nice place owner and staff are very nice..Union bar and grill connected to it has good food. The room has lamps pictures and curtains that give you a right st home feeling. you want be dissappointed. price is reasonable...
I would love to say this motel/ feels like home is so wonder. Very friendly and all of the staff welcomes u like you are family. JIM is a very nice caring person. And cares about your stay thier. I highly recommend staying at colonial manor. Out of all the motels in bryan ohio. Very nice and clean rooms. Plenty of towels. A nice big TV. And u defiently wont freeze. We love this place. Donte Zoey derek and me Amber-
My husband and I loved our stay here. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean and the place was quiet. They even provided a cot for our Grandson.
We stayes at the Colonial Manor for a wesdong over the weekend. The rooms are very spacious and there was even a room between the main room and bathroom that was great to put the pack n play in for our infant daughter to sleep in. The staff was great and the rooms were very clean.
I currently stay here and the staff is very helpful and curious. They do have a breakfast its not the Hilton but at least its something. Rates are fair and rooms are decent sized for what you pay.
Great place. Friendly staff, 50 inch TV with plenty of channels, windows front and back for ventilation plus a ceiling fan, new mattress, comfy lazyboy recliner, picnic tables out front, attached restaurant/lounge, with everything youd want, and all for $60. Awesome place.
Super clean room. Very spacious yet inexpensive. The manager took the time to check the room prior to my entrance. Great staff, great hotel!
This was a haven during homelessness for my little family!! Very lovely staff & felt cared for by every sweet person there!! I highly recommend this pocket-door oasis over the nonsmoking Nazis, the bank account pillaging Quality Inn MANAGEMENT ANYDAY!!!!
I would NOT recommend staying here…keep driving if you can. From the outside, this motel looked like a nice place to stay, HOWEVER, the room was the absolute worst I’ve ever stayed in.
My family and I checked in before heading to see family, we returned and they had given our room away! The manager was extremely rude! And put his hands on my cousin to remove her from the office! Cops were called! Very disappointed and will never stay there again.
Actually was a pleasant stay. Gentleman at front desk was great. Room was very spacious and clean. Nice big TV good wi-fi.
The worst hotel I’d ever been. I’m homeless rode my bike carrying a bunch of stuff. It’s freezing cold outside and they refused to rent me a room they definitely need new management manager is the worst he’s a not a good person.
Stayed here with my significant other and it was a serious disappointment, lights on the bed wall didnt work..one of the cords to plug it in was about 12 inches long and there was no outlet...LolYou had to get out of bed to change the channel on the tv..huge gaps in the flooring that you could hurt yourself on...and the list goes on! Dont bother, theres better places nearby. 😕
Nasty place. The owner pushed my niece. Trashy outside and filthy room. We were sent to an occupied room late at night. Manager and owner handled this situation extremely inappropriate.
Older hotel but staff was friendly. The room was nice. Breakfast wasnt much but we were able to get coffee so thats all I needed.
The guy who checked me in, now he was good people...I really thought I was going to like this place and I did, till I woke up in the morning with my legs and back itching with these little red spots all over my legs and back. Didnt have them when I went to bed last night.
The staff was friendly. Easy to find. Very clean and stocked up. A person might wanna bring their own pillows.
Very kind and helpful staff. Big rooms. Clean. Good value. Beds were a bit uncomfortable. Needed updating.
If u r near Bryan and need a place to stay, the Colonial Manor is a economical place to stay. They have nice rooms and a restaurant to eat at, and a nice little breakfast at 7 a.m. . Highly recommend it.
Stay here every year when I make the trip to Ohio. Very clean and quite. Beds could be a little softer but other than that it is a great place to stay
Nice beds, great staff. Very reasonable rates. Stayed for 2weeks,enjoyed every bit. Will stay again
Decent road side motel near the center of town. Beds are stiff and the topper does an ok job of softening. Union Street Grill offers good food.
Amazing management and staff. Rooms are clean and smell like they are new. Perfectly located 2 minutes from town.
Found the room to be clean and tidy and smelled great .. staff are extra friendly. Id recommend or stay again.
Cable TV is non existent. Black Mold on the soap dish. This used to be the best place around that area. Its a dump now.
This place is very dated, but they take good care of it. Very affordable accommodations conveniently located. Staff is usually very friendly as well.
New management is trying their best to clean up the environment and clean the rooms better there at the Colonial Manor.. They are also trying their best on giving better customer service.. God bless and peace to all..
Had a lovely stay. Nice rooms. Roomy beds. Massage chair in the room. And theyre pet friendly!
Very clean. Management is very personable. Rooms are large and homey. Will definitely stay again.
This place was great. I stayed here for a week. its cheap, comfy and clean. I definitely recommend this place. I will be back.
Nice quiet motel, great staff, good prices. Rooms are clean and getting many new upgrades
Very clean. Front desk guy was sweet and helpful. Very comfortable king bed!!
On Kayak it states this place has a pool. There is NO pool like it said online. Far from the highway. Very spacious inside.
Rooms were old but reasonably clean. The staff were very helpful and nice.
Wasnt a bad stay not the worst motel I have stayed at big thing is they are in huge need of updating!
Hot water handle on tub was stripped, so no hot water for shower in room 137
Nice employees. Nice rooms, just dont get a smoking room, unless you like sleeping in a dirty ashtray.
Service desk clerk was very courteous, room was very clean, location was quiet, morning checkout was a breeze.
Really great place to stay at a very affordable price. Great staff and modern rooms and property
It was dirty.beer from guest before me .no clean towels only dirty ones no ues of there phone for days....go somewhere else
We had a massage chair and great service. Its a must motel next time anyone passes through Bryan.
Rooms are being up dated new paint and flooring looks real good
Very clean room. Comfortable and well priced. Would stay again.
Better than other hotels in Bryan. Good tv and wifi and breakfast. Rough towels.
Super quaint cute rooms. Really enjoyed our stay here.
The bed was hard as a rock. Id rather have sleept in the parking lot. I will never stay here again.
Staff was very nice. Everything was very clean and love the fact that the restaurant is right there
People were swearing and threatening each other in the parking lot. Not sure what was going on but it wasnt pleasant.
Had reservations made when we show up office was closed and never answered the phone
They welcome pets. The rooms are always clean and the staff always friendly
Very spacious rooms and very quiet. Staff is very good to work with.
Attached restraunt/grill has excellent food - had 3 meals there during one week stay!!
Quiet clean place to rest when in town, reasonably priced for what is offered.
Obviously well updated, very clean old school motel, owned by a friendly former New Yorker.
“I’d turn back if I were you!” Made a reservation on Sunday, drove out from Massachusetts only to get here and see blockades and caution tape!!
Very nice employees and rooms are by far up to date.
Great staff clean place and good people from the ones me and my wife met
Very clean with nice rooms. not far from restaurants
Amazing place to stay.Quite friendly, home away from home.
The jacuzzi room is nice but there was a recent murder there
Helpful staff. When I had issues with the wifi they were quick to help fix it.
