Just got home from my massage. My therapist was Candice. Although new to the industry, she was an amazing therapist. The relief she provided to my neck and shoulders in only an hour is amazing. She shared information with me regarding the techniques and therapies she used, what her training consisted of, and also just a lot of friendly chitchat. The conversation helped me relax and enjoy the experience. I will definitely be coming back to Candice in the future. She’s great at her job and also just an all-around, great person.
The massage was good but the price was really upsetting. A dear friend gifted me a $200 gift card, thinking that would get me at least somewhere close to two sessions. I booked the first one thinking it was $100, but apparently since I had a membership years ago, my price was $130 for a single 60-minute session BEFORE tip. I asked about possibly signing up for a membership for a few months since the non-member price is so insanely high--but the membership cost is $25 more per month than it was but when Id originally had it, *and* there is now a minimum 12-month contract. So the sweet and generous gift I was given has turned into one single massage session, plus less than half of another ridiculously priced session. It will literally cost me $75 just to use the rest of the gift card.So the session was lovely, but I will be very specifically asking friends to not give me massage envy cards again, because I simply cannot afford how much it costs to use them.
Ive gotten regular massages my entire adult life (Im 60 now) from both chains and individual providers. This is, without question, the worst provider I have ever encountered. The bottom line is that the membership benefits only them by forcing you to pay for massages whether you want them or not. If the membership price was a good deal maybe that would make sense but if you look at what you pay between the monthly fees and the visit add-ons it isnt any less expensive than non-membership massage providers - so the only thing signing their contract does is to benefit them. Its basically a training grounds for new therapists and a place where mediocre to bad therapists can make a living. Not to mention the horrific things Massage Envy has gotten in trouble for (I cant post links here or I would and youd never step into this place - Google BuzzFeed News Massage Envy).Neither your body nor your checking account are safe. You deserve better.
If you get the right therapist, its a good massage experience - its just very hard to get on the schedule unfortunately.
Arrived at the front desk at 12:25 p.m. for my 12:30 appointment. iPads that are used to check me guests werent working. They had me wait for 10-15 mins and finally had me fill couple of forms and check-in. For a 90 minute session, my appointment started around 12:45 p.m. and checkout at 1:56 p.m. My appointment lasted a little over an hour, but I was charged for a 90 minute session. The massage was okay, nothing phenomenal. My masseur was jovial and paid attention to detail that helped my pain point feel better. At checkout, the lady at front desk offered a membership without giving me any information or details, but kept talking about how my price for the session would go down if I choose to become a member. Upon research, I later found that canceling membership at this franchise is a real challenge, and you end up in year round contract without able to cancel it. Im glad that I didnt opt to become a member. I do not recommended this place.
I specifically told the girl scheduling me that I had a credit on file from my step mom. They said that was all good. Upon checking in for my massage today no one mentioned any issue with the credit until after I had the massage done. They had me pay $80 for this. I would have never had the service rendered had I known the credit was no longer good. I find this so shady and will absolutely never be returning to massage envy. I will also be sure to spread this message to anyone I know. Horrible business.
Y’all I can’t tell you enough about how amazing Mark is. He really listens to what you need help with. I’m a hygienist with feet issues and always have back, shoulder and hip pain. He works the problem areas and I walk out of there feeling so much better. Thank you Mark! You really make a difference!
Good massage. Convenient location. Ample parking is available in the back. Finding a spot in the front parking lot can be tricky.
I loved the massages but they are always booked up. If you miss a massage due to work or an emergency there is no way to get another. Just didnt end up being worth it for the monthly payment
The environment and staff made me feel relaxed and welcomed. But the massage therapist talked too much and I am not interested in talking during a massage.
I was having back spasms and sciatica flare up. I made an appointment out of desperation. I saw Ericca and I had never been to this massage envy before. I lucked out because Ericca happened to specialize in fixing my issue. She not only massaged me but also stretched me and did some range of motion to loosen up my glutes. I feel so much better after my session with her. The front desk staff were also super friendly.
The staff and facilities are fine. My problem is no one told me I had to pay for a year. I signed the contract so the fault lies with me. I should have read the fine print. I have buyers remorse. My circumstances have changed since I signed up in June and feel horrible about wasting my familys money...but a contract is a contract. I live 16.3 miles away so thats a no go ( you have to have moved 25 miles away). The other way out is to have a Doctors excuse, I am healthy so there you have it. Im stuck. I am so upset and disgusted with myself for getting into this situation. Ill be out of the contract June 5 2020...its going to be a long year.
I went to Massage Envy for one massage, and ended up becoming a member. From the front desk staff to the massage therapists, everyone is polite, professional, and welcoming. The massage therapists have been very responsive to my individual needs, and the physical environment is comfortable and relaxing. Excellent place!
Booked a full body massage with Randy and he was able to relieve my rib and shoulder pain without it feeling intrusive. If youre looking for a massage therapist with a gentle as well as a firm touch, Randy is your guy. Very effective all while being relaxing. 👍
Very poor communication. I had an appointment scheduled during the winter storm a couple weeks ago. I left two voicemails to reschedule and still have not received a call back. I understand people had to close due to the storm but you still need to reschedule people that have paid in advance or refund them their money.
Attempted to book appointment on website - 1st choice & 2nd choice - nobody called back. Tried to make an appointment by phone - no answer - left voice mail messages - tried 3 times - nobody called me back. Finally got somebody on 4th try - booked appointment. Somebody did call me back just as I was leaving for my appointment - call was to cancel. This was my 1st encounter with Massage Envy. So far I have a very bad impression. Im taking my gift card to another branch
Ive had many massages in my lifetime as i am an experienced rock climber. This was one one the worst ive had. They even tried to bribe me with a free 30 minute massage if I gave them a 5 star review. If were to recommend a great place to get a massage it would definitely be Advanced Therapeutic Massage, they have experienced massage therapists.
I loved the girl that worked on me, she was very sweet and had a friendly vibe but today Im very bruised and while she was massaging me it was like she didnt know the difference between my hip bones and my muscles because she was massaging straight bone. Now, I have only gotten a massage one other time before now and so I didnt know that her massaging my hips the way she did was going to hurt me so badly the next day but I hurt today! Im not sure how I feel about this but maybe I just need to go back and try one more time and be a little more picky about when Im being massaged but my body hurts very bad today I dont want to have to go through this again. I thought I was specific when I said what I wanted but I guess not!
Dont sign up with any of their programs ! If you decide to sign up you literally need a doctors note to cancel your membership. Completely gave me the run around and finally after threatening to go corporate they decided its ok to cancel. Completely terrible customer service.
Just had a massage here and it was the worst one ever! Told them exactly what I came in for and noted it down on their “iPad”.Booked a 60 minute, took me in 10 minutes late and ended it 5 minutes early. 2 stars for the cleanliness and friendly staff.
I wanted a month for my session and they Canceled my appointment hours before I was to get my massage and was told they could do nothing but reschedule me but there were no appointments for another 27 days.
The first massage I had was horrible but they comped me one the following week with a wonderful therapist and have been seeing her every other week since. I love the relaxing vibe and friendly staff.
Always been treated very well. Very professional, and Tric is the best! She focuses on what I want her to work on. Ive been to three of them at various locations in the Austin area, but this one is definitely the one for me.
Poor costumer service, lost massages on their plan, and added fees. Would never use their services again. They got sued for this and I received 2 massages back and once again they just disappear. AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Had a friend give me a gift card, told the lady at the counter that I had a gift card, she looked it over and gave it back.Had my message, was back at the counter gave her my card to pay, she scanned it and said I was short 40.00 dollars. Beware of there scam to book you for more that your gift card, so they can hit you up for more $ !!!!!Will never go back!!!!
Just what I needed, great massage, and quality service!
Massage therapists are great. They are always professional and courteous. Front check-in staff are friendly & helpful. Great massages.
Theresa and Claudia are the best. They knead out every sore muscle and knot. I’m jello when I leave.
I LOVE this location! (They are not all the same.) I had a massage and facial and I feel like a queen. Amazing place!
BEWARE. This place has a crooked practice of signing you up for a year commitment, and then flat out lying to you about getting out of it. They claim to loose paperwork, and don’t call to discuss after stating they will.
One of the few places that had a female masseuse that I felt comfortable with and still did a good job.
Carly was great, really helped me with a stiff shoulder. Will request her again for sure!
Great massages & friendly employees. I just wish it was a little less expensive.
Very rude front staff. No idea why I was treated in such a way. I used to work on retail and worked the holiday shifts. I dont think I ever treated a customer like that.
Always love getting a massage. Friendly desk staff awesome therapist!
Facial with Sandra. Wonderful, relaxing and my skin feels very good.
We have had a membership with them for at least a decade. Well worth it.
The place is always very clean and the massages relaxing.
Always sweet staff and great massages!!
I love the facials! Very relaxing and invigorating at the same time.
Great massage....friendly staff.
