BluNotes of Charlotte

Visiting family from Charleston, SC and decided to catch the 2nd half of the Panthers game and the 4pm Cowboys game at BluNotes. On a Sunday at a sports bar, you would think they would be adequately staffed. Waited 15 minutes (literally) to be sat while the server had to tend to her 4 tables and get us seated. And they were the only 4 occupied tables in this MASSIVE building. We ordered fried okra and wings for appetizers. How did the wings hit the table 10 minutes BEFORE the okra? After my 1st beer, I went to order a different beer, and they were out. Cool, no sweat. Went to order another that was on the beer list on every table and, nope, out. I ran off 4 more beers and they were out of each, so I decided to go back to my 1st beer, and surprise! They ran out. I ordered a double shot of Jim Beam. They were out. After ordering our entrées, we decided that we couldnt take any more. We got our food to go. I ordered the rib sandwich. I should have checked it before I left, because to my surprise, I get home and theres 1 piece of Texas toast and a 3-bone rib in a box. The crab mac was great, but thats about it. The server was obviously frustrated, and rightfully so. How can she give great service without product to sell? We tipped her $20 on 42 for her troubles. I hope things get better for her sake and if you want to stay in business.

This saddens me to write this review but I must. Ive been to Blu Notes plenty of times and I always enjoyed myself. Every trip I made there was always pleasant. However on Wednesday March 29, 2017 was a different story. It was three of us also my best friends birthday and she wanted to hang out at Blu Notes. My first sign that we should have turned around was that the parking lot was basically empty. We still proceeded into the establishment and waited at the counter for the hostess to seat us. After about 5 min we just decided to seat ourselves. We sat for I know like 10 min even though 2 different waitress saw us but failed to acknowledge us at our table. After growing impatient I stopped one of the waitresses as she was walking past us again. I asked was the area closed where we were sitting. She said no maam Ill get someone for you. Shortly after a waitress named Danielle serviced us. We ordered our food and drinks. The wings came out and they didnt have that signature Blu Notes look. We overlooked it. We bit into the wing and it was COLD!!! I got the waitress attention and explained the chicken was cold. She said would it be okay to put into the microwave to heat it up. I just looked at her and said ummmm NO! We would like to have fresh wings. Now this is the kicker, they brought out my friends loaded fries and she got more than the description on the menu. Her fries was loaded but with an extra ingredient of the sriracha sauce green top just sitting on her fries that also looked old and not fresh. I again called Danielle and said no reflections on you because you have been very nice but the service is horrible tonight from the kitchen. My friends fries are unacceptable. She offered another dish to be prepared but my friend said no thank you. I asked for a manager and it took a long while for the lady to come out. The manager was explained the issues we had since we arrived. I even said this was my besties birthday and this is horrible. She apologized and offered half of the bill. This has been a SMH moment/experience that I wont forget. Im big on great customer service so I had to write this because it was unacceptable. Though the service was horrible our waitress was very sweet and we made sure she knew she was appreciated. Im including pic of the fries (wish I had a pic of the wings).

The music was wonderful. The hostesses were very friendly. Our server Jordan was very nice and accommodating to us. The fried catfish was good. The gumbo was good, but someone might have dumped the bottle of pepper in it. The collards and Mac and cheese need help. The food was medium in temperature. And even though the menu says the bread pudding is a favorite it is not good. Do not waste your money. I would not recommend this place for food, but the music is so worth it.

This place surprised me for the quality. The seafood was quite good, and pretty well priced. I did not realize that it does seem to be almost like a black club on the inside, so we did feel a little out of place. However, the waitress was very sweet and good. The atmosphere was dead since we happened to hit the place at a weird time when they were preparing for a New Years Eve party. We were some of the only people in the place at 5:30 pm.

I have been to Blu Notes when they first opened. A lot has changed since then. The food was very pricey and there is now a cover charge. My group made reservations. We were seated about 45 minutes later than our reservation time. It took forever to get food. I was with a group of six. Several of us ordered appetizers. All of the appetizers were place in a basket small enough for one person. I gave it two stars because our server was awesome and the live band was great.

I have been twice each time on a Sunday. The first was in March I ordered an egg white omelette. The service was slow although the restaurant was not very crowded. I waited 25-30 minutes for an omelette. The drink service was fine. The next Sunday I went was Mothers Day. I had a reservation. I arrived on time. I was seated quickly. The waitress came 10 minutes later. She had no knowledge of any drink specials. So I Ordered regular drinks, they arrived 25 minutes later. No water was offered. The wrong appetizer was bought to the table. The right order was again placed, but the corrected order never made it to the table. The food was just ok as were the drinks. Service was very slow. The music was good.

My friends and I visited this place last night. Two out of the three of us was visiting for the first time. I enjoyed the live music and the staff was friendly. However, the service needs to be improved. We made reservations for 9:45 and was not seated to almost 11pm. They ran out of the Angry Orchard beer that I ordered but didnt remove it from the tab until I asked. The food came out lukewarm. One of my friends sent her food back to be warmed and it was never returned.Nevertheless, this place has great potential. Please work to improve!

The cleanliness was not the best but I still figured Id give it a shot. Once we were seated we waited for ten minutes before flagging down someone down to take our orders. She wasnt rude but she was very slow and forgetful. The food was definitely not authentic, was cold, and was incorrect based on what we asked for. I am very displeased with my experience and will not be returning. To add, I paid $20 for my $14.83 meal and only received a $5 bill in return. Even though I was only missing the change I felt that was a slap in the face given that the food and service were so horrible. Theyd already charged me $4 on the bill just for being in the building while there was live music. I would never recommend this establishment to anyone unless there are MAJOR changes.

The band was great & the hostess was very welcoming. Multiple staff asked how we were doing when they passed by & were very courteous. The food was fairly good also. Everyone was great, except for our waitress. First she brought me a beverage with a piece of her long black weave in it & then she neglected to fulfill my requests twice. My husband & I both asked for water. She brought him water, but none for me. Before I could point this out, she sped away, as she did a couple of times. She stopped by our table again & didnt apologize when I brought it to her attention. She then neglected to bring two forks for our shared dessert, as requested. After several minutes of waiting, she stopped by our table again & then brought another fork. No apology, just a response of oh. She also rarely spoke directly to or made eye contact with me. It was as if she was only serving my husband after she took our order. I felt devalued by our waitress, but everyone else was so great that Id still go back. However, I cant deal with the same waitress.

If I could give it negative stars, I would. We made dinner reservations for 7PM on Valentines Day. Once we arrived, we were charged a cover charge at the door for the live music. Okay, cool. Not an issue, as I love jazz. Once we were seated, no one came to our table to take our order. We waited for 20 MINUTES before I had to go find someone to bring me a drink. They ran out of the beer I drink, so I opted for water. I never got a refill on my glass of water. The service was absolutely atrocious. The food was decent, but it took so long to get it, I was over it. It came out wrong, but still tasted okay. My wife ordered an appetizer that was never brought to the table, but they tried to charge us for it. She also ordered a drink from the bar that was never brought to the table. The bathrooms were disgusting. Ill never go back.

I only gave it a one because I wasnt able to rate it a zero.First, we waited for 15 minutes to be seated while 3 employees stood around and talked to each other while ignoring us. Did I mention the place was nearly empty.Second, I hope you have two hours to wait for your food to eat because thats how long we waited for the entrees. The food wasnt bad, but wasnt anything to write home about either. Our waitress was awful and seemed like she didnt know what she was doing. The drinks are over-priced.Third, they over-charged me for our order. Youre supposed to get four oyster shooters for $16. They charged us $20 for four.SAVE YOUR MONEY!!! For two people our bill was over $120 for possibly the worst experience my wife and I have ever had at a restaurant.

Absolutely horrible. I had to wait an hour for one order of wings, and my table didnt eat all together. Come to find out the waitresses were stealing food! There was no organization as we didnt have spoons or forks to eat with; there were people snatching plates and utensils off tables before customers got a chance to finish. The food is extremely overpriced. A man walked a garbage bag through the common eating area, and there were employees smoking marijuana in the back!!! The bathroom was absolutely disgusting! There was fecal matter all over the backs of the toilets and some of the walls! Unprofessional!!! I had high hopes but all I got was disappointment. I will never eat here again.

If you are looking for a nice spot to hear live music then this is your place. Ive had dinner here a few times and have been let down each time. The only thing I would order from here again is the burger and fries. Pretty hard to mess that up. Catfish was mushy and served warm, mac & cheese looked like it came from a box and red beans & rice looks like chili beans with rice mixed in. Food was literally thrown on our table by server. Drinks are weak but affordable. Made a reservation 2x and still had to wait to be seated. What is the point? Wait staff and hosts are great!

The place has so much potential but I was not impressed, at all. We arrived around 6:30pm on a Friday. Surprisingly it wasnt that busy at the time. There were 3 women chatting and standing around the front desk and told us that it would be around 10 minutes before we were seated. Now mind you, there were plenty of empty tables. 15 minutes later, after watching them socialize, we were finally seated. The waitress took another 20mins to bring out our over priced drinks and about an hour after that, we got part of the appetizers. 2 hours after we were seated we finally got our food. ..ridiculous! We had to keep flagging someone down to check on appetizers, food and drinks. The waitress was not very friendly, personable or attentive. Food was Not authentic and or worth the price. Im very disappointed. Our bill, for 2, was over 100..... Definitely not worth it. Even AFTER reading the reviews, I decided to give this place a shot. 3 hours of my life Ill never get back. Just saying.

Waitress was wonderful, but even after our booked reservations, our wait time from sitting at the table to receiving our food was 1 hour 11 minutes!! We were told that there was a rush today so they were behind, but a restaurant should plan and expect such on Mothers Day. Food was good but not worth this unusually long wait. Call ahead to see how prepared they are during holidays or special occasions. Also, floor in restrooms was sticky and we saw ants on the elevated floor beside us. The staff was friendly and apologetic throughout, but we visited BluNotes not for the staff but for the food and atmosphere. A let down.

My family and I came here for brunch, and the food was great. I had the chicken and waffles (sweet potato) which was good my father had the catfish and grits and no salt was needed in the grits either. The catfish was fried to perfection not too hard and meaty.

We made a reservation for my mothers 72nd birthday dinner. We could not book on line and no one answered the phone, so she went in personally. The woman gave her a tour and took her information and gave her a reservation for 7. When we got there they said they did not have a reservation for her. They tried to put us on couches for dinner after we waited for 55 minutes. Then they sat us in the back where we could not see the band. The waitress was nice, but she stayed away too long and one member of our party did not get their meal. My gumbo was scorched and th we taste was terrible. The waitress brought the chef over and he walked away as I was speaking. We spoke with the manager Chris twice and each time she made sure not to offer comping the meal. AWFUL EXPERIENCE! WILL NOT GO BACK OR RECOMMEND!

I am wishing this place the absolute best however there are some areas of opportunity, mainly the food! I had high hopes but the shrimp and grits were far from appetizing, however the music and atmosphere was great! Kristen our server was on point and made the experience better although the good was lacking!

Good food and wonderful music. Most of the staff was wonderful but the hostesses were very snooty. We had called earlier that day to ask if we could make a reservation for that night, they said they dont make reservations the day of but there would be plenty of room at 6:30pm. We showed up at 6:30pm like stated. The two hostesses tried to make a big deal about finding us a table even though they were still pretty quite.

NEVER going back to BluNotes. One of the worst dining/entertainment experiences Ive had - - ever. This is the first time a restaurant has literally stolen my money. Food was OK. New Orleans fare without the New Orleans taste. Our server was forgetful and stressed and it wasnt busy. For a Pre-Valentine Day show, supposedly a romantic evening, we were charged for a Wayne Wonder show and table reservation, but the artist hadnt entered the building by 11:00pm, two hours after he was to have started performing (9:00p), even after the DJ announced at 10:00p that the artist was on the way and should be here in 5, 6, or 7 minutes. The staff of the restaurant shuffled upset customers from one person to the next, with no one taking responsibility or seeking to resolve the situation. At some point, several of us just left once we realized they werent even trying to treat us fairly. Mediocre food and poor service is something that can be a product of one bad night, but the lack of integrity and fair business practice is a constant that will eventually close this business. Again, well NEVER go back.

Visited two weeks ago and the food was great and our waitress was awesome. Returned last night and I must say it was the worst experience Ive ever had at a restaurant. The service was horrible and the food was even worst. We had Shrimp PoBoy and the shrimp was rubbery. We complained to two different people that was not our waitress. Finally flagged down a manager, who basically accused us of already receiving replacement sandwiches which we did not. When we finally got our food back it was still the same rubbery shrimp. I would not recommend this place for dinner, eat elswhere and go here for the entertainment.

Ive been there quite a few times on Sat and the atmosphere is great I just love it. The live music, and then the DJ plays after the band is done its just wonderful. If ever u have any problems with the staff just ask for one of the managers and its taken care of. This place is still fairly new opening around Nov-Dec and every place has to work out the kinks. I couldnt wait for it to open and Im very pleased.

I am here now from out of town with family, this is a complete MESS!!! First we were striffled at the door for our 6:00pm reservation to pay a $10 cover charge for each person in our party of 10. Our waitress, while nice and accommodating, could have doubled for a waitress at a sketchy nightclub. The food was less than OK, however reasonably priced. Our meals came out over cooked and over salted. Not to mention, they ran out of salad and cornbread.Oh the band.....Its almost two hours later and we are still waiting to hear them!!! Bathrooms are dirty and I will never come back here again, in fact they make me not want to come back to Charlotte!

Atmosphere was great. However the service was not acceptable. Seating took way to long. Staff was overwhelmed, which led to slow and forgetful service. Came here with hopes of having a great night with my girlfriend. That was ruined by the establishments lack of planning. Purchased a ticket online and was told I couldnt be seated unless I made a reservation. So I had to wait , only to find out that other large parties of 10-12 people arrived before 7 ( when money started to be taken at the door) were able to get in for free and got priority due to making reservations. So tell me this, what was the point of buying tickets? if I could have just came before 7 and be seated and not pay at all. Stressful encounter indeed. Makes you hope its not like this at all times. If so , dont buy any tickets, just show up before the money is taken.

Looks like they STILL havent gotten their act together. Its really sad, because the venue has so much potential.I worked there two nights near the end of January, which, by the way, I was never paid for. (Working interviews are illegal, but thats what they demanded.) I was appalled at the amount of tables my very capable trainer had, because NO ONE, no matter how great a server, can handle that number in an adequate fashion, much less a great one. By 8, they were out of several key menu items and CROWN ROYAL. I just have no idea how they could run out of things that are integral parts of their experience, but it seems this is a regular thing. The food took forever. We had one table that waited over an hour for WINGS, and they finally just up and left. When the food did finally arrive, it was often no longer proper temperature. Despite having several managers on the floor, they were spread too thin to address all the complaints. Ive worked in a lot of restaurants in my life, but this was the worst train wreck Ive ever seen. I hoped some of it was due to them not being open for long, but even after a few months, you shouldnt be running out of things and your kitchen should have its kinks worked out. The managers were caring and nice, but they were just overwhelmed with what needed to be done, and fixing things that were horribly broken. One table ordered 45 minutes before the server was finally told the kitchen was out of that particular pasta dish. Ridiculous. I wrote a very long text to the training manager, giving my thoughts on what they needed to work on and I declined the job. No amount of money would make me work at a place that has its act so far from being together. From what I saw, tips were pretty awful, anyway.

My husband and I took our friends there last night for the first time & all we can say is WOW!!The only issue we had was with our server. She did not seem to know the menu as well as we would have hoped for but a young lady (Heather I think was her name) came to our booth as the server was taking our order and explained everything too us. Well the young lady was right on the money!! Food was amazing!! We understood why our food was taking so long, the place was PACKED OUT, but Heathers smile and laugh made it worth the wait. WE WILL BE BACK

This place is awesome! Definitely plan to come back when Im passing through Charlotte. I caught the tail end of a live band, the staff is quite personable and the atmosphere is simply amazing. I dont need to wish Lucius any luck; he has his restaurant set up perfectly. Just fantastic, thanks for the food suggestions and friendly service, Lexi. This has been more than enjoyable.

Before I start, let me preface that my comments will not include opinions of the food.I was there last weekend for an event that included a band from back home (DC). The atmosphere was nice. Nice venue IMO. However word of advice, stock up on your liquors prior to having a visiting band. Certain spirits were sold out two hours into the night. I find it hard to believe that many people consumed that much alcohol in such a short period of time. The second bad experience, having to wait 15 minutes for change after making a purchase. Overall, I think Blu Notes has potential. IMO, there needs to be some additional focus on customer service and ensuring that you have plenty of food/alcohol on hand. I have visited smaller venues in Charlotte over the years during CIAA and those establishments never ran out of spirits regardless of the size of the crowd.

This is a nice spot to listen to Jazz music. Have to pay extra if you want a seat for the cover charge. Food is good but the service is not that great. Friend of mine waited a total of 60 mins for 12 wings and never got them. He actually had to re-order with a different person in which they arrived in 20 more minutes.

Stopped in for the first time today...The catfish was AMAZING. The crab mac and cheese and collards complimented it well. Beau (the manager) and Pharoah (the bartender) were even better than the food. I will DEFINITELY be coming back here... pleasantly surprised!

The live music was wonderful. It was a great vibe and the food was delicious. I highly recommend the catfish and crab mac & cheese.P.S. From other reviews I looked for plastic wear. Lol I only saw dishes, but it wouldnt have mattered. We had a great experience overall.

As a proponent of live entertainment, great food, and exemplary customer service, I highly recommend Blu Notes of Charlotte!I really enjoyed the chicken/sausage gumbo its definitely the best in town! Hats off to the staff and management for being attentive to my quirky food allergies!The outdoor covered patio is an additional bonus. Its been a great venue to enjoy sports, craft beer, and friends! Definitely looking forward to the next visit!

The food was great. I had the oyster poorboy and my friend had the grit cake and shrimp plate, the food was awesome!! It was a nice change in atmopshere from the norm. I even enjoyed the band. Ill definitely be back..

Its a very nice restaurant to experience. The chicken wings were very tasty some pincest were fried to hard. I cant remember our servers name but she was such a sweetheart. She was cute as a button and very respectful. She look like she was just 21 years old. We sat at table 25 on Sunday when the Let Flow Band was performing during the end of CIAA. Have a fabulous time.

Definitely NOT authentic! However the chocolate martini was awesome. Lots of space, great place for watching a sporting event and eating chicken wings, unfortunately the Cajun fries tasted like regular fries NO SEASONING!

The place is awful....I have nothing good to say about this place the food is a greasy mess. I ordered sausage and peppers it was the worse experience in my life and they thought I was going to pay for it after I complained. The service is poor, and the waiters and waitress is dumbfounded. The atmosphere is of some old sleazy hood bar and that is not my style. There was a band there but it wasnt worth listening too so we paid for the entre...and left...terrible sleazy joint.

My best friend and I attended the restaurant this evening in hopes of an authentic experience. Aftet being seated, two to four waiters and waitresses passed our table a number of times before we had to stop someone for service. Our food took less than 10 minutes to come out but was cold. I had a salad with no dressing and had to wait an additional 5 minutes for dressing. My best friends burger was dry and by the time she received her condiments her food was cold as well. I ordered a mojito. My drink did not come until after we had received our meals. There seemed to be no alcohol in the drink and it was piled high with ice. Once our waitress seemed to realize we had given her the exact change for our meal, there was no salutation of any kind- simply a walk away. We asked for a manager after discussing that someones money had been invested into the establishment and needed to bring these things to someones attention. No manager ever came.

I have a great experience every time I go. The staff is full of enthusiasm. Management is great and the beers are cold. The atmosphere is fun and the cigar deck is perfect for relaxation. I love going there.

First time visiting and I had a great overall experience. The ambiance is great and the music made the experience worth repeating.The staff and service was welcoming from the hostess, barback and the waitress. I walked in an immediately noticed the rating of 81 and I will admit I was worried. After traveling this far I wasnt going to let this deter me and that was a decision I do not regret.I ordered the shrimp Po Boy full sized with a side of cheesy mac and cheese. It doesnt come with any sauce but my waitress pointed out that the chef has a great barbeque and hot sauce that compliment the sandwhich well. The mac and cheese was light with the perfect ratio of cheese to noodle ratio. It was topped with bread crumbs it was the best mac anc cheese Ive had that wasnt block style that you get at family reunions.I next ordered a beer and dont let the menu fool you they have a well stocked fridge and there is a decent amount of local draft and bottles that are not listed.This entire experience came at a very fair price and I will definitely be bringing friends here when they come to visit.-Sincerely a fat foodie

If I could list zero stars as a rating I surely would. The service at this location and care for the customer on a of 1 to 10 is 0. In a nutshell this restaurant ownerchose to charge me a $5 cover coverage, due to an error on my part (not making the in by 7 guideline) on a live entertainment night. Now I called before 7 to explain why I would be late. But...was told I needed to pay. The owner refused to talk to me on the phone and upon arriving to the restaurant about this matter. During past visits the food was not tasty. And...... for the record, I was just trying to help a friend celebrate her birthday.For the record, the new manager came over, apologized, and asked if he could do anything. In the words of my traveling Soror, I am just saying.

Marie was our waitress, she epitomizes what customer service is all about. When we come back that will be a huge part of why we do. Lucious was also great, he was really interested in our thoughts on the food. We will definitely be back. Loved the crawfish egg rolls...

Waitress NEVER showed up. No drinks or anything. The menu we were given looked nothing like the menu ouline. People sitting at their tables waiting and staring. Definitely will not be back. The bar looked like they had run low on drinks. I would not come back here. Even 1 star is too high a rating, should be a negative.

Service was terrible our order was all wrong, we had a table of 25 people with one waitress. The food took over 2 hours to come out and it was wrong and not good. Were headed to Waffle House! Great Music, great concept and thats all folks...

Their service sucks and I had to pick a star so this is negative. If you want to have a good time do not go HERE! I went here for my birthday it was completely ruined. The service sucked, someone at my table bit into a raw burger and the server acted like she had a attitude when we told her. I had to ask the manager for a water refill for my table. My food was cold and dry! I will never go here again!!!! Horrible

Waited for 40 minutes after being seated. No one came to get drink orders or even acknowledge that we were seated. Servers had no idea where food was going. Tables seated across from us couldnt get refills or even get the check picked up. Walked out without even being noticed. Will not return ever.

1 is being generous. Brought some out of town clients to the Rare Soul show on 8/27. The food and drinks took forever to come and when our food came out it was COLD! I sent it back and low and behold another long wait until I just asked the waitress to take the food off the bill. The music was great. I was originally going to take my guest to 7th District downtown. For those reading this review, save your money, if you want to support black owned, go to 7th District!

Terrible... dined there Nov 29 food was cold, served on plastic plates/cups, mixed drink sick taste sent it back, portions about the amount expected on a childs plate. Called BluNotes next day and was told to call back in 2-3 weeks and bring wife back for complimentary meal. Called back Dec 21 and told by same person would have to get approved by owner that she was just a mgr and would call me back within one hour. Never called back! Talk about sorry customer relations... no way will I ever visit BluNotes nor will I recommend them. DO NOT EAT THERE...

Looking for great food, fun and live music all in one? Found it! 3rd visit. Best customer service ever! HI, WELCOME TO BLuNOTES, COME ON IN! As if theyd known us for years. The food was OUTSTANDING!!! Every bite taste like a good home cooked family meal. I had the Chicken & Sausage Gumbo, Crawfish Eggrolls, Blackened Fish Platter served with the best garlic mashed potatoes ever! You must try the White Chocolate Bread Pudding. Greeted by Operations, Brandon Turner himself and Kitchen Management. Lucius Johnson, bragging about his lovely wifes special touch in the kitchen. Thank you for making us feel right at home. Cant wait to visit again.

First time there. Enjoyed myself the band was nice. Crowd was good..But!!! I truly do think that they need to have security at the door at all times. No security at all. I went on a Friday so I will be checking out what Saturdays are like

HORRIBLE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I WILL NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I recently went for a birthday party, first our waiter (if I knew her name I would mention it but she never told me her name) she was rude !!!! Beyond measures, she constantly had an attitude with every request the party made and all we were ordering by that point was drinks and appetizers being that the whole party had not arrived yet, when we finally did order and get our food after about an hour, we got wrong orders, peoples food was cold and even my burger was RAW! I have the pictures from snapchat to prove it, the manager told me my meal would be free, i took the offer and waited, and everyone else ate their food and STILL NO BURGER, everyone got their to go plates and still NO BURGER by that point im waiting on a check for just a drink !!!! Which i refused to pay for by this point ..... here is the kicker you guys AFTER the party left 2 DAYS LATER they decide to charge one of the party guest $340.00 on their card ..... WHO DOES THAT?????? Honestly this is the worst experience ever and I will be an advocate to make sure people never eat there if I have anything to do with it !!!

I had a delivery order from them today and it was ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!!!! I ordered the gumbo with added shrimp, mind you my order was $21 the container of food was so small I couldnt believe it. The food was sooooooo bland it was ridiculous. It was my first time ordering with them and my last. Im very dissatisfied especially as a new customer.

Absolutely HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. On Feb 2nd, I paid/booked my 50th Birthday celebration for April 22nd. There were no other events scheduled. One week prior to my event. I received a call from (Ri) the General Manager, indicating they have a world renowned artist scheduled to perform that day. And, because of that they could not accommodate, what was originally agreed to. However, my guest could still come, pay to get in, pay for food and drinks and stand around listening too a washed up artist that hasnt had a new song since the 80s. She had the worst attitude, and made it seem as if she was trying to work with me. Not at all understanding how, this establishment greatly inconvenienced me in the last hour. Everything about this establishment is PISS POOR, I should have went with my gut instinct and not booked there. I can see why all the reviews are NEGATIVE. Whatever you do, DO Not Waste your time or Money in this Place. I never will again.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My husband and I went to BluNotes for a date night and we had a ball! We had the best bartender,I think she said her name was Pearl ,she made the best drinks and was super nice!the food was great,we loved the grilled shrimp and gumbo,the red beans and rice was to die for ,Im actually throwing my bday party there this weekend coming!I know my friends and family will fall in love with BluNotes too♡

Service was horrible music okay and this is a Saturday night. We sat for 20 minutes someone came over and walk away and never came back. Another server saw us sitting and came and took our order. Food was okay. Staff needs work on professionalism

A local spot catering to mature Black Americans. Best nights are Thursday Saturday. Drinks are on the pricey side. Many patrons stop by neighboring ABC store first. The food menu includes burgers, wings, salads and fried fish along with other bar favorites

Incredibly disappointed in this venue. They were holding a special event and did not have several things on the menu. Food was mediocre. If this wasnt enough, they advertised a show start time if 9pm. As of 11 pm the artist was a no show and they werent offering refunds. Poor poor poor.

Over priced and management is not professional!!! I had to pay a cover charge to get into a restaurant I planned on ordering food and drinks from lol. The service was awful. The music was the best part. Charlotte has a lot of restaurants with awesome food, service and professional management. Dont waste your money or time at the Blu Note life is too short.....

Definitely needs improvement. Food was cold and the waitress and manager need attitude checks and learn how to opperate a bussiness. customer service needs work or wont last. Disappointed on my first time there. Would never return or recommending to anyone!!! The bussiness has potential if they find the right people.

Shrimp was under cooked in the drunken shrimp. Cajun catfish wasnt spiced as a Cajun would. Waitress was missing most of our stay. It was open Mic night at a blues place. No musicians played. I just heard urban poetry spoken. They somehow lost what a Blue you t should be.

Nothing cajun or creole about BluNotes. Food NOT AUTHENTIC to New Orleans. No jazz, no blues. I was hoping to hear some Zydeco music and eat some crawfish. But music was more Hip Hop, New York/D.C. style. Had to pay a entrance fee to eat because some band was playing. Kitchen closed early so we only had a few menu choices. Seafood Gumbo was like gravy with no meat or seafood. They ran out of all apple beers and Moscatos. Beignets were burnt. I only added a second star because our server was nice about the disappointments and discounted our bill. But, we wont be back.

Both of my experiences were awesome!First time was during CIAA Classic and even though it was crowded, service was awesomeThe various bands were definitely on. their game. I was there from 3pm - 1am. Top notchShout out to Aaron Crutchfield.Second return was just awesome... A friend came with to see Shablick on Ladies Night and yes, we got in there before 7 for the free entry. Ordered dinner again and whoa ...Delish and awesome service as well as a slamming good music.Shout Out to Shablick.

Food was on point, and the atmosphere was lovely, only reason I didnt give it a 5 is because my server sucked, but hey, 9 out 10 servers in Charlotte suck. But overall I still will bring my friends here.

The space is nice but that is where the goodness ends. Plasticware, excessive amount of time to get food orders, totally confused staff, manager claimed to look into a food item that was exchanged without telling the person that ordered, and she never returned.Just to many things wrong. I cant see them staying open much longer if this keeps up.

I have ordered delivery several times and each time theres a problem either the food is not good, something is left out or the order never shows. I decided to give them another shot to night....I ordered at 8:15pm. Its now 10:05pm and no food. Theres no number to call other than a reservation line. This is the absolute worst!!!!! I will never order from or patronize this again!

Love the grown and sexy atmosphere. Went for the first time to see live band Tony Lelo. I didnt order food but im going back this week for the poetry slam. Good music and a chilln vibe. Just what i wanted !!!

Only giving this rating due to great entertainment, and courteous waitress. But, waited a bit too long for drinks and food portions was questionable. Overall, my favorite Charlotte Spot!

Nice atmosphere. Need speakers in vip. Drinks are solid. Jessica pours! Sound needs improvement and service needs some work bit overall its not a bad spot.

I gave it two stars because of the music. Great music, subpar food and even worse drinks. Cocktail was watered down and beer was warm. Response from waitress was, many people complain about the same thing...Sorry .

Feb.23, 2017It was hard to believe that a black establishment would gouge their prices so high for the CIAA. You expect that for non African American businesses (hotels, restaurant, etc) that hike prices on patrons that come to Charlotte for the CIAA.We ordered 2 shots of crown (served in cheap plastic shot cups that came from Walmart) and a order of fried string beans.Let me list that again 2 shots & 1 appetizer for $34.00. $12 a shot!!!!The waitress was embarrassed and understanding. So we did tip her 20%.Went to Applebees same night those same shots were $6.00The music was whacked!

They have dance events on Sunday nights. Recently it was Kizomba. Loved the venue and the atmosphere. The service was good. They were out of a few things but thats ok. Clean, nice place to socialize!

First time here...and will NOT go back! Food and drinks are horrible. I was warned about this place but since Rakim was performing there, I went against my better judgement. Save your time and money. Go to Bojangles. I would have given them a negative, but I had to give a one star to do the review.

My girlfriends and I truly enjoyed ourselves we danced, sang, ate and drank. The Host Cassandra is Amazing. We will go here every chance we get!!!

Nothing like the environment and atmosphere here! You will find no other place in Charlotte like this. The food is amazing, the staff is friendly and all support each other and any problem you have will be dealt with without question! Cant replace my experience here!!!

I really wanted good things to say, but Im really struggling to find the positives. The food is okay, they drinks are watered down. And the service is so-so. Ive come here a few times hoping things would get better, but it hasnt.

My first time here was amazing!!! Absolutely love the food!! And my waitress jessica was amazing!!! If your in the area stop by for great entertainment, service, and of course amazing food!!

Arrived from Spartanburg SC to find out all reservation were cancelled this morning by phone and no tables only patio. Where do you cancel the day of all reservation have an address. This is the worst business I have ever dealt with. No excuse

This place was horrible! From the plastic ware to the honky tonk music. The service was poor...food was less than average and wait staff had an I could care less attitude .Never again at this place#

Decent music, terrible sound system, food limited and not do great. Ive been there twice. Nor likely to go again no Friday but Saturday was good music.

Bartenders Friday December 16 were the worst waited (1) to be acknowledge to order a drink.

Terrible service. Waited 20 minutes for change when there were only 10 total people in the restaurant. Never got any drink refills.
