The atmosphere was clean and pleasant and I was pleased with my mani/pedi from Beverly, however I was charged 5.00 more than the advertised price and I should have been informed of a 2.10 credit card service fee in advance.I definitely plan to return in the future.

Dirty, doesn’t sanitize their tools and they use CHEAP products. I wouldn’t recommend this place for my DOG! If you want to waste your money or get an infection then by all means… give it a try.UPDATE: this is indeed the correct business. Owner is Marva right? Yeah your salon is definitely not the cleanest. Instead of your response maybe you should hire cleaning crew instead!

Great spa! I had an amazing massage with Marva - she was able to relieve my muscle soreness and work out all of the tight spots in my neck, shoulders, and back. Highly recommend!

Technician took almost 20 minutes before she told me her name and then once I stated that I was a diabetic and for the be careful with my toes, I pay for my service with a gift card of $65 on my exit. I was told that there was additional balance on my bill no one told me that I had to pay extra because I was a diabetic. Therefore I will no longer becoming back to your service. I should have been told. That there was an additional fee. Thank you. Have a great day.

In preparation for his upcoming baseball tournament, I decided to treat my son to a sports massage (his very first professional massage) at Next Man Up in Bronzeville. Next Man Up is a black-owned, full-service spa designed to cater to the needs of men. Dr. Marva Cooksey, the founder/owner, provided my son with a relaxing massage and a Kraftgun treatment while focusing on his problem areas. Thereafter, he partook in relaxing steam room and rain shower experiences. He said that Dr. Cooksey worked out kinks and knots he hadn’t even realized he had. My son left feeling like a million bucks 💵. I HIGHLY recommend this business. Fellas, take some time to pamper yourselves!

Great experience, I had a muscular issue that was hampering my recovery after surgery. The massage therapist Marva was able to figure out the issue and help me with my recovery. Looking forward to going back.

Disappointing experience. The owner Ms. Marva lacks integrity. She overcharged my friend for services I had already paid for as a gift for his birthday. I pre-purchased a package for $175 and the manicure service he preferred was actually less than what I had already paid, plus they charged him an additional $55. But because I purchased the package in advance and we live in two different states, she didnt think this discrepancy would be communicated between the two of us. She actually told my friend, according to him, not to tell me that he was switching his services - likely because she didnt want to credit my credit card for the difference - which ended up being substantially less with the extra $55 she charged him on top of what I already paid. This is most unfortunate and leaves a distasteful impression as a black-owned business. As an African American business owner, its establishments like this that give honest businesses a bad name. My friend informed me that he would not be returning for future services, nor would he recommend because of their shady business practices - neither would I.

Great Black Owned establishment. A spa that cater to men yet still take care of the women. Fellows, my lady taught me the importance of self care & I’m grateful for this place! EVERYONE was professional & down to earth…. Especially the owner! I met her & she’s sweet humble & hilarious! They’ve definitely gained a returning client.

Scheduled a facial and massage for my husband as an early sweetest day gift Marva is excellent and very personable and professional felt like she was family while talking to her the space is very clean smells good and looks very nice inside! I have been having pretty bad lower back pain. Currently a college wrestler. I booked a massage and was thrilled with the results. Most of it was relaxing and got the small kinks worked out. And at the end of the session the masseuse pushed me through some tough stretches and I left feeling fantastic.

The best 150$ I done spunt in a long time wen I say that lady put me to sleep in 20mins massage was awesome then I get my feet an nails done the lady was so cool full of joy just was a great experience thank y’all im finna finally sleep good tonight

I had a facial and pedi/medi from there. The establishment was very well run. The area was clean and bright and had a pleasant smell. The services were done with care and to my satisfaction. The staff was courteous and very helpful with great conversation. Pricing was on par with what I am accustom to paying. The plus is it is black owned. Finding a black owned male spa is like finding a needle in a haystack. Drove from Plainfield to south side of Chicago and they did not disappoint. Will definitely be returning.

This was my first time visiting, and I cant wait to go back. I had such an amazing experience. I got the Signature Facial, and Catherine has the most capable hands of any esthetician I have come across. Felt so good I fell asleep on her table. Ill definitely be returning.

Exceptional service. Was there for a mani-pedi and back massage. Was greeted when I came in which was super great. Was offered a drink, which made me feel even more welcomed lol. My appointment was schedule promptly andi was in my seat in no time.The nail technician was great. She did an excellent job, especially for a guy like me who bites his nails lol. Then the owner Marva who is the massage therapist was very hospitable, charming, and informative. She did a great job on my back and taking care of some nagging issues Ive had for while, with me being a avid weight trainer. I had a awesome experience felt great when I left. Again A class.

Let me tell you about this place: customer service 10/10, cleanliness 10/10, atmosphere 10/10, services 10/10, hospitality 10/10. Lets start from the beginning. When I entered the establishment, thr first thing I noticed was how I felt; at ease and safe. Everyone was smiling and welcoming as I was given a tour of the facility along with the many services they offer. The decor was pleasing and soft to my eyes. The front desk ladies, after the tour, escorted me to my Barber Kevin. He was an absolute joy. He was professional, offered refreshments, made sure I was comfortable, and the conversation flowed. He made sure every step of the way, I was satisfied with the progress and the final outcome. His space is by 2 of the giant windows, bringing in all the sunshine and I love to people watch, so it was great. I had the opportunity and pleasure of meeting the owner at which, I learned she is a licensed and registered pharmacist who offers aromatherapy services and massages. I recommend this place to anyone for any of there services. As soon as the pandemic is over, I will be there for a full day of pampering!!

Very nice place the owner gave me a tour. I got the manicure and pedicure services. I thought it might have been offered a drink other than water based on the website but I wasnt. The technician that was doing my services was very knowledgeable and friendly but a little rough at times I got nicked a few times.

I sent my husband their for relaxation and he loved this place! He got a massage and his nails and feet done. He liked how it is geared towards men and how they took their time doing his services and not to mention its black owned! Highly recommended...

I booked a massage and mani/pedi service for my husbands 55th birthday. The owner was wonderful. My husband loved the environment and the massage. The nail tech was nice but the result of the service was not stellar. I am a nail tech so there was something that I could have done to make the service better. I should have told them at booking that my husband had a no chip polish on his nails. That would have provided them with the information needed to appropriately book the appointment. The nail tech was inexperienced and did not have the equipemt to perform the service.

Great service. I’m late with a review but I went in about a month ago with some serious adult acne and grayish dull skin and I left with a refreshed face and over the course of a few days my acne cleared up. The facility is open and airy and the service was top notch. I’d definitely go back.

I chose the premier pedicure which includes the mask and hot wax and it didn’t disappoint. I wanted a basic facial,but with COVID restrictions the service isn’t provided. The owner gave me a tour after my service was done, which was nice of her. #supportblackbusiness
