My first experience was great . My second experience was goodMy third experience 😇 smooth … they are a nice bar… it was too hot though they need better air circulation… because it was a peculiar odor Sunday … they need cleaner bathrooms… & i didn’t drink. The music was 3/5 …. I was there for bout 1hr. And it has gotten safer!Haven’t tried food. Idk if they have any.Nice bar. It’s a universal bar… so everyone of age is accepted .

Rather than rally support for one of the VERY FEW Chicago South Side venues catering to the LGBT+ population and its allies - that has managed to stay in business for DECADES - it’s so much easier to bash it. Dysfunction Breeds Discord. I appreciate the resilience of the business and its long history of providing a safe space for mainly Black LGBT+ folks on the South Side. It’s never been upscale but I don’t think it was intended to be. Back in the day, it was a rare watering hole for locals and none ever worried about murder on or near the premises because the neighborhood was quite decent. No more. While I think it’s unfortunate young people no longer have the JP as a convenient spot, they still have the other spot not too far away. I applaud the JP owner for his bold move to make the space safer AND attract patrons who are not caught up in the rap sway. I plan to continue patronizing the business, unless and until I’m given reason to no longer do so.

Ive never been to this place but after hearing about the recent tragedy on the news with 3 young men being killed in a hit and run outside the Pub - now I am nervous to visit this location. Not to say that I never will attend.. but when terrible things like that happen, it makes you think twice about visiting. When you go to a club you should feel safe - have fun and expect to get home safely without any fighting or murders taking place in or outside the club. Apparently now this club is only allowing people 30 and older to attend- And as I write this review I just realized Im not even old enough to attend yet!!How sad is that. 🥺 Its so unfortunate that something bad has to happen in order for there to be change! We all must be extra careful nowadays when going out. & make sure you go with someone who can account for you when something goes wrong.

Have an open mind when coming to this place. Its mainly a gay club. I used to love gay clubs for their house music, but this place dont specialize in house music along. They play r&b,rap e.t.c. After other clubs close, everyone heads over to this place. Standing room only. They actually take the bar stools away from the bar to create room for the late comers. They do have a decent size patio if you need some air, then when security is feeling they self they shut the back down. My advice, you can dress nice, but make sure you are comfortable because you are standing for hours.

I cant say anything negative. I was shocked to see so many people all having fun. All differences aside. The bar was nice. Music was nice. FYI this is a gay lounge. Me and my woman had a nice time. It was not what Im into or used to.

I.. Absolutely... LOVE this place. My only con is that people start to come around 12/1am. I guess this spot is the after-after party. Open until 4/5am. Great staff. Drinks are cheap in price.. and STRONG! (and I am no light weight)... Friendly environment. Drag shows are very entertaining. Music is cool. I only wish more women would attend.. maybe I keep coming on the wrong day. lol Nonetheless the men there will definitely show you a good time. A interesting opportunity to gain new friendships. This place deserves an A++! =)

Cute cozy easy access club and bar that has both a community feel as well as a cosmopolitan feel to it. Friendly bar staff (and patrons, especially if youre good looking) and the drinks are inexpensive and strong. Only downside is parking. Very difficult to find on a busy night.

Visited there to celebrate a friends party. One of the oldest LGBT after hours spot on the city Southside. Historic value. Its like any other pub. Nice and super friendly atmosphere. Great liquor pour.

It’s an overall good club if you want the ratchet type of night. But I was there last night and there was a 10 dollar cover to get in. They accept debt cards but they will swipe your card and tell you that it declined just so you could go use the ATM in there. Of course the owner of the club will get that extra 3 dollars from the transaction. I was really upset with that in the end. That was really messed up in my mind that that’s there practice. My friend used his card before me, they told him that his card declined, so I used mine. The minute he said mine declined I know what was up. They will point you right to the ATM to spend that extra 3 dollars. Never again

Good club.Good entertainment, shows. Security is Good as well Just dont be extra. Just know,if you come in Before they start charging, you cant leave and come back. You will have to buy a wristband. Local ppl friendly.

SilkiSol Sundays are the best. early enough to dance and get dinner and a show on the last day of the weekend. Their events are for everyone. Especially the grown, sexy and mature. The drag shows are great and the atmosphere is very laid back and inviting.

I went for Memorial Day weekend,Friday night was cool,old school house music,disco,sound system was awesome.Saturday night was predominantly a female crowd if that is your preference.drinks were powerful!! Highly recommend this spot.

Given its a pub, I wont knock them for the size of the dance floor. However, my overall experience was fabulous. Nice atmosphere, hilarious drag host, calm/mature patrons.#QueerSpace

A great gay bar for guys to go and dance and drink. Tim, Bruce, Lee and Smoke the best bartenders on the southside. They need to create more parties or holiday parties. May I also suggest that charging at the door turns people away if bars up north don’t charge cover on weekends period and certain days during the weeks if it’s not a big event.

The upgrade is nice. But need a whole new staff. Was kicked out on my 40th birthday because the bartender was in her feelings cause the woman Im with, she was previously with years ago sexually, and my girl was drunk and didnt remember her. Bartender waited until I went to the bathroom to pick a fight. Then this 7ft amazon security guard woman put us out. I reached out to the owner he lied and said he would call me back after he spoke with everyone but he never did. Its cool. Very unprofessional. And yes Im still mad. How are you going to throw a disabled person out on there birthday when your staff started it.

On weekends you can still get in free so thats a plus. The drinks are weak before 12am when the older gentleman. Is on the bar and he lacks patience and beverage variety knowledge but when the two young gentlemen hits the scene now its a party mood and environment changes there entertainment before and after the drag show other than the bartender. I wouldve given it 4/5 stars

I love the music but they dont enough chairs for peoples can sit down they have a few table and chair only cause of a party but if it wasnt peoples would have to stand up that isnt cool when you paying your money to get in the pub and the is too loud cant even talk to anyone there cause of the music.

Their DJ played music from the usual suspects like MJ, Rick James and everyone else except PRINCE! Sorry but I give this pub a one star rating!👎🏽

Started off shaky with the day bartender, but Donté came in & knocked us off our feet. Knowledgeable, energetic, dazzling smile, & cute! Made our visit to da pub memorable & satisfactory.

This place employs the Best Bartender in the World, Smoke! The DJ could have played more of a variety so people could dance but Ms. Smoke was Amazing and made the night great!

Cozy atmosphere, bartenders Smoke & Bruce are very friendly and accommodating to your drinking selections. They at very personable and know most guests by name. Music is good.

Its an old folks bar mainly studs Im trans 37 I felt out of place here. Maybe it was cause of it is was Sunday

Friday’s nights are the bestS/O Tazz and BYesssssss it ah little ratchet, classy, and a few other things but it’s all we got on the south east side of Chicago it’s a 10min drive from downtown it’ll well worth it to me always been a supporter tell em ROWDY sent ya

When ever I do stop in... the Establishment is always on point drinks be good bartenders are always there when you need him and it’s a nice crowd everyone’s for the most part enjoying yourself I know I do but yeah this is awesome establishment.

Good music, good drinks. Had such a good time, I lost my phone, a stud picked it up and stuck it in her pocket. Watched the video on my friends phone, when I sobered up the next day. LMAO, good times!

Sundays are the best times for a mature audience. I love Silky Sol Sundays. Great establishment, bar staff and entertainment.

Didnt know it was a gay bar at first but thats my fault should of looked them up. But the drinks were reasonable and the amount they poor was wonderful.

A light skinned queen handing out the bands be giving people a little bit to much attitude. She needs a reality check. Queens like that are prone to drama.

I stopped Here with my BFF and we had a fun nite out just the two of us great vibe, we miss seeing A show came early Maybe nxt time...

So I’m barred out the Pub because I wouldn’t let Smoke the bartender bully me I guess I was supposed to let her come from behind the bar full force at me and not do nothing but wrong cause umma give u what u lookn for oan God sees all

Bartenders on point, staff was darling, good vibe overall. Only scored a four because of the bathroom situation.

Tried to charge a $5 when the bar was empty on a Sunday afternoon. Not very bright, good way to lose business.

First time being at Jeffrey Pub in 20 years. I was pleasantly surprised. Clean, comfortable, and kind staff.

Its a pretty fly club. Small but the perfect size to enjoy yourself but interact with others!
