I recently visited Boleo and had a mixed experience🫠Pan con pancita: The portion size was much smaller than I expected. The taste was good, but I was left wanting more.Arroz chaufa: It was a bit on the salty side, but still pretty good.La Vaca: They informed me that they were out of NY Strip Steak and asked if round tip was okay. I agreed, but it was really tough and chewing it made my jaw hurt. The server was friendly and attentive. The ambiance was nice, but the music didn’t really fit the vibe and felt a bit out of place😅
Boleo offers a neat rooftop bar, but we missed out on the main draw due to rain. The atmosphere indoors was pleasant enough, but it felt like just another restaurant without the open-air vibe. The food was decent, but not particularly memorable. The empanadas were definitely the highlight, while the ceviche could have used more seasoning. The remaining dishes were satisfactory, but nothing stood out as exceptional.Service started off strong, but unfortunately tapered off as the meal progressed. Its unlikely well return, but Boleo could be a convenient option if youre already staying at the Kimpton Gray Hotel.
Ambiance: lovely - indoors, but still feels like a city rooftop (just without the bad weather and noise). Music was a little loud while the DJ was present, but went back to a conversation-friendly level once he left.Food: we tried several items on the menu and everything was well seasoned, perfect temperature, and a good balance of textures. Drinks were reasonably strong and flavorful.Service: the most friendly and energetic host Ive met in a long time. He sets a great tone for the restaurant. The wait staff are kind and knowledgeable, but it appears that they fill the dining room with more customers than the staff can manage. We were seated immediately upon arrival and brought water, but it took another 15 minutes for one of the waiters (who we kept staring at) to tell is that someone will be with you shortly. Our food came out relatively quickly after we ordered, save one item (the sliders) that arrived around 35 minutes later (after wed asked a few times).A four star review because Im assuming they were not like this pre-COVID. Everyone is short staffed and much of the world is still closed. But if the wait times are normal, this is a three star review.
What an amazing place in the heart of city! They go above and beyond to make your experience wonderful. The fox den cocktail was star of the night, (added with a tequila shot 🤪)Boleo okd fashioned was also good!Appetizer : chicken skewers were the best, must try!Good music, quick service, fun times!Definitely recommend.
Fun find! This restaurant is on the roof of the Gray hotel. There is a roof that opens in nice weather. We tried the Hongos Anticuchos, a lovely mushroom dish with great sauce. We also ordered the Arroz Chaufa, which is a great flavored fried rice of sorts. Lastly we tried the Lomo Saltado, a delicious beef dish topped with fries. Sadly, the cocktails felt a little expensive. Our server was friendly and efficient. We would recommend trying this place.
Great experience! Delicious food and cocktails! Below is a photo made special by one the chefs as a possible permanent item on the menu. It was delicious! He described to us how his mother used to make this for him at home when he was younger 🥰❤. It was fantastic. Please make this a menu item! It was the best that we had!
Im living in Denver and its a food desert here. Eating at Boleo felt like my first time coming across an oasis. The lomo saltado and pork chop were fantastic. Might be the best cooked pork chop Ive had to date. It kept its moisture and thus, its flavor. The service was outstanding, my drinks never sat below halfway and we had multiple staff come by to make sure our meal and dining experience was going well.Definitely one of the highlights of our trip.
I hope this post helps.I have been excited for a long time about visiting Boleo, I live out of Chicago and visit the city for restaurants and bar benchmark. Our experience yesterday was below expectations, even though our server tried really hard to makes us feel great, it was obvious that she was worried about our experience. Our food was bland, tastless and not too apealing, we decided to stop at the appetizers, and in all fair honesty decided not to give the drinks even a try. I know it sounds harsh and my intention is to give some perspective to the management and ownership. Our server seems a little overwhelmed since they look understaffed, that draws their attention away and the manager seems to be a little distracted. This place is gorgeous and has a lot of interior potential, but the lighting color for example seems changed from pictures and look less interesting in the selected colors from last night. The layout felt spread out without scale, and they obviously have a great audio system to be having a not vibrant ambience.I have to acknowledge that I was setting my expectations based on other reviews, and social media, which shows a really interesting restaurant.I hope that such a beautiful place can get back their essence, everyone deserves to be tried under different conditions, maybe last night was just not the night
Possibly my new fav restaurant. Came here with a friend tonight for a late dinner and wow. First, the service is wonderful, including being served our dessert by the chef himself. Second, the ambience is sophisticated yet relaxed and without pretention. Third, the food is phenomenal without the ridic pricetag. We ordered the Hongos Anitcuchos, Empanada Pollo, Yaquitas, Pan Con Chicharron Slider, and the Chocolate Souffle. Every dish played with different colors, flavors, and textures. Every bite seemed to be a new discovery. The highlight was definitely the sliders. The pork belly and sweet potato pair so well with each other. Def coming back!
Tapas style dishes!!! We went there on a Friday for happy hour and tried all 4 of their skillets - chicken, steak, shrimp and pork belly....all absolutely delicious with their specific sauces!! Drinks also delicious including the chilcanos - banana/coconut and the coconut negrini!! Will certainly return...great service too :D
Interesting set of food, Perú and Argentina together in one place. The choripan was not the original. But the rice was amazing. Cocktails were so so, the mix is intriguing but they need to still working in the right flavor. Empanadas were so so. Music was upbeat but they should have more graphics. Service was attentive. The distribution of the place was rare and i think they could have taken more advantage of being in the top floor.
My husband and I were lucky enough to have a wonderful experience here, enhanced by our server, Chase! He was so attentive, charming, and entertaining. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal (my husband said it was the top two steak meals he’s ever had) and we also appreciated our time together, but our server truly made it a great memory. Thank you for having us!
Wine, dine, dance and relax.I came just for Salsa and Bachata. No cover charge. Complimentarywater with 🍋.I had a phenomenal, fun ⏲️ .
The food and ambiance was outstanding! We came for Restaurant Week and really enjoyed the empanadas, steak, and both the chocolate cake and flan! However, Chace stole the show. He was attentive, informative, and made sure we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. We can’t wait to try “The Chace” on our next visit!!!!
Food fine, portions small, service decent for the most part - then they forgot about us for 30 minutes while we waited for the check. Hard to do when there are only 3 other tables. Nice looking place though.
An amazing restaurant! A bit pricey, but it was a special occasion and totally worth it. We went at 7 on a Friday and were seated immediately. The service was incredible and very fast — our 3 course meal took about an hour and some change. The fries, sliders, chicken empanada, roasted chicken, and soufflé were delicious, as well as each of the cocktails. My only complaint is that the music was a bit loud, which made conversation difficult.
We went a few years ago for our anniversary date. The staff was very accommodating even giving us 2 free wine glasses for the occasion. The roof opening/closing is pretty cool to see.
One star for the ambiance and another for the DJ. I’m honestly surprised by how bad the service, food, and price were. For starters the server was dismissive and inattentive. There was a moment that the server brought a straw for someone, and threw it in their drink as they were about to drink from it. The food came out at different times and was either under seasoned or way too salty. For the price of the food, I expected a better presentation and better taste. It did not do justice to Peruvian food.
We happened to go on a night that was their salsa night. Highly recommend.
Had an amazing experience at Boleo between the drinks and food recommendations from our bartender, Will. We enjoyed a refreshing take on a caipiriñha, tuna appetizer, and chicken empanadas! Everything he suggested was spot-on and super satisfying. Would definitely visit again!
The service here is terrible. This restaurant has absolutely laughable sized portions for empanadas for well over twenty dollars a meal. When confronted about forgetting about us for over 30 mins without even having talked to us we were apologized to with a fist sized soufflé that in all honesty was quite bitter. We wanted to speak to a manager but our waitress never came back for us to do so. Never go here please. The chicken was really good though. Although the food was not bad you pay for service at places like this and we over payed 100%. If you come to the wonderful city of Chicago do not disappoint yourself coming here. We were here long enough to make plans for the night an hour and a half in advance and werent served in time to go.
The place is actually amazing ! With lovely ambience however the service was super slow and they kept forgetting our order. The only person who was doing well was Jace and we want to thank him for his attempt to make us feel comfortable. He is a great employee
The service and staff are friendly. The setting is also nice. I enjoyed the happy hour specials, and they have a good drink selection. However, I have to knock down a point for the main courses. For the price, I feel there should be a bit more food provided on the main course. I think the menu, as a whole, could use a little enhancement food wise. Its still a fun spot and a great setting, though.
I’ve always loved Boleo for great food, cocktails, and atmosphere but our bartender, Will really stood out today. A large group of us were looking to find a last minute spot to celebrate and we stumbled into Boleo. Will did an amazing job managing out large group while still delivering great cocktails! Recognizing the special occasion, he even jumped in to take pictures and learn about our group. This review of Boleo is long overdue but big thank you to our bartender for reminding me what a gem this spot is!
This is probably one of the most amazing, tasty places to eat. They put so much thought jnto their dishes. The chicken skewers and the cassava fries are my personal favorite! Excellent cocktails too, they used to have an amazing sangria but they took it off the menu. Personnel are always very kind and the place has a cool vibe. I recommend reserving ahead of time.
The food and drinks were delicious but the service was subpar. For a $30 steak the size of a child’s hand and a $23 cup of fried rice, I’d expect a more personal dining experience to make the $100 meal worth it.Edit: after reading more reviews, I noticed the same thing happening to a few people. We made a reservation and were seated right away but then waited 15 minutes for a waitress to come, by then we were fully ready to order, so we did. Food and drinks came out pretty quick. But after eating our child size portions within 10 minutes. Our waitress, Malika, never came back. We saw her running drinks to other tables, Im sure overloaded with work. But with all the other staff there I’d assume some others could pick up the slack. We waited till our drinks were done and about 10 minutes after that asked a different server for our check, 15 minutes after that I finally went to the bar to close our tab. We wanted to go somewhere else but literally couldn’t leave because we were waiting to pay. For a 15 minute meal and a 45 minute wait for service, $100 was not worth the price at all. Wouldn’t recommend.
Great service and suggestions. The variety of the empanadas was great. Just enough spicy in each sauce. Also a fine suggestion by my server for the brisket. Very tender.
Great place great food, great services and great atmosphere 👌 I was there for the 2nd time with Nelsons Djs and the live Salsa Bands Projecto7 Salsa Band show was phenomenal and I hope to doing ot again
Never written a review before but the money we wasted here stings a bit. We don’t eat in the loop that often but made an exception for date night. Paid >$100 for a meal that was generously worth $50 even with the vibes. Had a reservation in advance but was stuck in a side booth by the bar where the waitress promptly forgot about us for 15-20 minutes at a time. Portions were laughably small which would usually make you think it must be good or at least some attempt at fancy right? No... Save your money and your time.
I enjoyed the atmosphere and the service was good, food was tasty (I tried the empanadas) main problem Ive found is that the portions are a bit too small for the price
The staff are friendly and the food is delicious (if light on vegetarian options), but the craft beer selection is wanting (though I suppose most go there for the craft cocktails). Would recommend overall.
Not only was our meal outstanding (and it was) but we were genuinely impressed with the staff. From the host to our waitress to the fact that two of our dishes were delivered by the chef himself, we felt well looked after. Every dish was packed with flavor and our cocktails were noteworthy enough that wed return just for a drink. The place wasnt packed when we visited and so we found the ambience really pleasant and not too noisy - a great place for a date night. Well definitely be back.
I went here for a friends birthday outing, and was very happy with the drinks and food. Our server (I forgot his name sadly) was extremely helpful and accommodating. We had several small plates, punch bowls and individual cocktails, and everything we tried was phenomenal. The space itself was also very nice. I hope to come back here again soon - hopefully on a nice day when their retractable ceiling is opened!
I’ve been here a few times, always trying to give it a chance. It’s. Beautiful place, which earns the two stars. However, they are selective with who they treat with outstanding service. The hostess wasn’t very helpful with getting our group seating. I was aware we did not have reservations but once I relayed that she brushed me off though I was willing to wait. She told me there should be more than enough room at the bar. I understand not having a table at the moment but the dismissal was off putting. The second offense was the dismissal by a manager. I was charged for a bottle when I ordered one drink, mistakes happen, but the manger offered no apologies or complimentary drink. He was again dismissive when I attempted to ask about my card as I was waiting around without it. Overall, managements have attitudes. Pass.
Good cocktails and friendly service. We didnt have any food so I cant comment on the food or table service.
Would totally recommend to anyone. Tried many speciality cocktails and they all exceeded my expectations. Truly delicious and unique. The food was quite good too. The service was fabulous. Truly impressed by the service, not just the waiter, all the staff were great.
Enjoyed happy hour! Ceviche and yucca fries were tasty along with pisco mule.
Great Chicken!!! Very fun Salsa night.
Wonderful Peruvian food in a cozy atmosphere. Order the plantain chips and ceviche for appetizers, they go well together. And dont forget to end the meal with the chocolate soufflé cake, memorable!
The ambiance and waitstaff was really nice. The food was tasty, but cold by the time it arrived at our table. We also thought that it was strange that all of us were required to do the family sized portioning ($30 for Meat, $26 for veg) or none of us could. This ended up the cheaper option, but we ended up wasting quite a lot of food directly because we were not able to customize orders. We also could have gone the more customizable, but expensive, option of small plates. The waitstaff seemed to be especially overwhelmed.Definitely worth a visit. Seem to be very resolvable and minor adjustments in order to make this a 5 star experience.
IF YOU GO HERE ASK FOR REY as your waiter, he’s such an amazing waiter and knows the menu very well. It was my first time being here and he made my experience 10 times better. There’s a variety of drinks and the vibe is amazing. Over all, ask for Rey as your waiter, if you want the best experience ever and need help getting around the menu
Nice space. Drinks were good. The appetizers were good. The only negative was we were seated on a couch that was in the sun which was right in our eyes and very hot until the sun set more. With the walls around the space, there was little breeze. We did ask to move and they told us we were in the only place for 5. While I completely understand that, I would recommend an umbrella, more greenery or an awning to help cut the sun a bit.
I give it a 4 because we had a great waiter he explained the dishes the drinks etless.. we stumbled upon this when Aire which is nest door was a little too packed and didnt have a hostess at the door so we left and went to Boleo.Drinks were good. Food was good except things didnt come out on time. the happy hour apps didnt come out till after our entire order was out and after asking for them like 3 time. Not sure if this was a one off but still left me a little confused as to the disconnect from our Waite and when the food was actually delivered. If this is something that is a usual occurrence then my 4 stars review should be lesa.
Service was pretty bad, the waiter just seemed not to want to be there, he took the order and barely came by again. Food was not very tasty specially the chicken pinchos they were all burned and covered is sauce, sauce was good though. Huge bill for really bad food, it’s a poor excuse for ans Argentinian place. Don’t spend your money here there other better sooted restaurants, that actually cre about quality.
Was super excited to eat here after wanting to go pre-Covid. I could not have been less pleased with the food. I am not even sure what to say other than every course was bad... and I do not mean under expectations or just not very good. We did not finish any courses including the ceviche, beef stir fry, etc. We will not be back.
We had a reservation for 2 on a Wednesday at 6 pm in the late spring; The food was delicious, and during happy hour very affordable (some things $5!). It was very busy and loud, especially in the bar area where we got seated, but it was still a fun and beautiful atmosphere with the open roof.
Went here with a large group for drinks only. I didnt stay for long, but the bar staff seemed friendly and knowledgeable. The space is open, spacious and comfortable. I visited in February, but I want to come back in the summer when they have the roof open... I imagine its lovely.
Giving this place a 5 just based on their small mocktail menu. We ordered the behind the clouds and the purple corn mocktail, soo good. Its rare to find high quality innovative mocktails so we were really impressed. The mushroo skewers were out of this world! Yucca fries were good but nothing beyond a normal fry for me. Definitely try this place out!
Nice place, good ambiance but the service was disappointing. Our waitress didn’t show up to our table unless called over most of the time, was not knowledgeable about the menu items, was very slow bringing drinks, didn’t bring an order I placed but by then i was fed up so I didn’t even mention it and I asked for my check. It took 40 min from the time I asked for the check to the time I paid it. Also, very small portions and very pricey. I left hungry. Will not return
I came for my birthday, also stated that when making my reservation. We were seated right away which was nice, at first glance the place is small, the photos are a bit deceiving. When our waitress, Malika arrived she immediately asked us for our drinks. And this is were the good service ends. After about 15 minutes of waiting for 2 sodas, and 2 pisco sours she returns ready to take our order. The menu is so small that we were ready to order within 5 minutes but she was no where to be found. We place our order and not long after our chicken empanadas come out, those were delicious. We wait just a couple of more minutes 2 entrees come out. Now I’m used to all the entrees coming out at the same time but they didn’t. The limo was more vegetables than meat. Roughly 20 minutes go by and then the rest of the entrees come out, the smallest piece of res I have seen. But that wasn’t the issue, for $30 a plate the meat came with no sides. At this point we have been here for an hr and not once has our waitresses returned to ask if we needed refills or just how we were doing. Absolutely terrible service. We are ready for our check and are trying to get her attention, either she truly didn’t see us or she was ignoring us because both the hostess and another which were both standing next to her saw us,but she didn’t. The other waiter comes by to tell us that she will be right with us. We see her coming, my hand still in the air and she passes right by us and goes to another table. The othe other waiter sees this and comes and asks what we need. We ask for the check. She sees this and then comes by. We finally get our check and it takes another 30mins for us to be checked out. Overall it was really bad service, will not be returning and would not recommend.
My bf took me there for Valentines. We liked everything we were able to order. I was very limited due to the fact that I have a shellfish allergy, and everything is fried in the same oil. I just wish there was a separate fryer for non-shellfish items in their menu.
Nice place, good location and great peruvian food. Everybody in the staff was kind except our waiter. Felt ignored and a misundestanding with the dessert ended up with him being a bit unpolite. Not coming back.
The food is unbelievably good and the service is absolutely top notch! Came here for my birthday, the hostess team was very accommodating, the service was knowleable and friendly, the food arrived promptly and packed a punch of different flavors, the manager came and talked to us. We were just blown away with them!!
Gorgeous glass ceilings with an open setting and comfortable yet slightly chic couches make this a wonderful setting for grabbing a drink and catching up with friends. I saw many big work groups who seemed to head to Boleo as a large end-of-the week hurrah on a Friday afternoon. Live music came on later and was great. Their appetizers are very small for the price, but quality ingredients and tasty, no doubt. Youre paying more for the colorful atmosphere, which I think is entirely worth it!
Came here with a few friends on Friday around 7pm. It was initially a little tricky to find since its in a hotel building. They have an awesome rooftop (retractable?) with nice views of the buildings around the area. We didnt order food so I cant comment on that, but they had a ton of drink options. I got a few old fashioneds which were delicious. Service was also good. I will also add that we felt incredibly underdressed for this place - the attire is classy for sure.
Our waiter was awesome! This was our first visit here and he described everything we asked about on the menu with precision. The food and drinks we ordered were spot on. Great place, will definitely come back!
This is a happening spot at night. As the evening progresses, the energy grows as the crowd grows. My wife and I got here around 9 pm and it was an ideal place for winding down the evening over a cocktail. We did not have any food but they have a great menu.
On the top floor of the Kimpton Gray we were staying at the hotel and made a reservation for drinks one night. Open atmosphere with plenty of space between tables. The drinks were great, but on the more expensive side (typical for a rooftop in Chicago) however there is no views of the city despite it being on the top floor. There is a glass rooftop that might provide some views of buildings but it was covered in snow.
Went out for my sisters birthday thinking we were going to enjoy a nice dinner with drinks but was the opposite. The waitress Malika, was rude and inattentive. Our first and last time going there due to the HORRIBLE customer service we received.
Three words: Not Peruvian FoodIt tasted like someone saw a picture of Peruvian food and tried to replicate it blindly. The lomo saltado was spicy for no reason. It was full of red and green peppers, no tomatoes or sauce whatsoever. The arroz chaufa was the consistency of risotto, not fried at all. The only saving grace was the pisco sour. All in all I would not recommend. If you’re staying at the hotel I highly recommend vol. 39 bar on the second floor over Boleo. Hard pass.
Went for Happy Hour. Appetizers were all very flavorful except the shrimp appetizer was more sushi-style, thus a bit undercooked. The drinks are fabulous! Must order the Disco Punch!
Food is good, service is good, I love the chicken empanadas. Nice vibe and can definitely appreciate the decor with the open ceilings in summer and cute closure in the winter. Both times I visited I was able to find street parking right out front.
Had a reservation here before seeing a show. It was nearly empty and we didn’t get water after we were seated. No one came to our table to take an order and no one that worked there was on the floor. After a little over 10 minutes we walked out. We didn’t walk by anyone working there and no one was at the door either. It was disappointing.
I came here with a group of friends for drinks as the last stop of my birthday celebration. It wasnt until we were steps away from the host stand where they had a little sign saying that the bar was closed off for a private event. We were all disappointed since it was a journey to get there from the previous bar we were at. A few of my friends made a quick stop at the bathroom while the rest of us were trying to figure out where to go next. The host started rudely demanding that we needed to leave. We walked to the elevator area, away from the host stand so that we wouldnt be in the way of the event, which we werent in the first place since the event was inside the bar. He followed us and continued raising his voice, telling us that the wedding party had rented out the entire floor. Okay... if you didnt want anyone to come up to the bar, you shouldve put a sign downstairs or in the elevator. We werent causing any problems, we were just waiting for our friends to come back from the bathroom. None of us wanted to deal with his craziness and it seemed like whatever we said just made him angrier. I felt like if there werent so many of us, he wouldve put hands on us and dragged us out of there. All of us felt incredibly disrespected by the hosts behavior and none of us even knew what had made him so angry. As we were leaving the lobby downstairs, we ran into a Boleo staff member who told us that many groups had gone up to the bar earlier that night, just like us, only to find out it was closed and that they shouldve put signs downstairs. He proceeded to tell us about how terrible the management is, which didnt surprise us considering what we had just experienced. From the glimpse that I got of the bar, it was a good idea to take our money elsewhere. There are much better rooftop bars in the area and ones that provide way more professional service. I definitely will not recommend this bar to anyone and I will not be coming back.
I went here for drinks and had a great time. The design of the place is really cool. The drinks were really good and at a decent price considering the area. I did not try the food although it looked really tasty.
Simply amazing. Great food, great live music, and a good view of the city. We went in the winter with the roof closed but will definitely be going back in the summer when its open to get the true event if the skyline.
The food here was delicious. Empanadas and yuquitas were both amazing. The manager, Jake, was also excellent to us and worked around our odd drink requests. I will certainly put this place on my list for my next trip to Chicago!
Got together with some of my girls for dinner. This place is so cute, with the tropical feel and decor. We were told that the rooftop retracts in the summer so we will definitely be back for that! When we walked in, my best friend realized she knew the manager from where she used to work and he was so kind as to give us some free champagne to start off the night! Thank you Matt!!The food was tapas style and SO GOOD! We got plantain and puffed corn to start, gambas, vegetarian empanadas, and arroz chaufa! Everything was so flavorful and delicious, my favorite was by far the arroz chaufa. Now the cocktails! I got the B-Side to Hollywood which was like juice, so delicious but a little on the sweet side. I then switch to the Moscatel (recommendation from our server, who was extremely pleasant but can’t remember his name!) this was a very strong drink but it didn’t taste strong, it was subtle yet flavorful. At the end of the night we found out the manager had the food comped and we were so extremely thankful and will definitely be back when the weather is nicer!!
This place goes above and beyond to make your experience special. Bright, fun open space when the sun is out, and very very fun when it gets dark. Music is great, drinks are amazing, food is on point. Best pisco sour I’ve had outside of Peru
This is the type of place you go to if you like great drinks and food with some authentic passion. Sam the bartender is great, and cares about his craft. He can navigate you through Pisco and Fernet. If that doesnt inspire you, theres still mainstays to enjoy. If youre looking to interact and enjoy a genre of cuisine, they are giving it a serious go!
Will and Hector are perfect. We love the giant disco ball behind the bar!
Dishes were fairly small and the octopus tasted fishy. Pluses were the skewers were on happy hour from 4 to 7 (we went on a friday) and the chicken one was pretty good. The hamachi dish was decent too. Wife said that the empanadas were too over fried. I would give the restaurant another chance, but she was in the 2 star category.
0 stars, The staff was rude. The bartender watered down the drinks and shots. When we brought this up to their attention, they said may be just one of them was watered down and took it away. They never brought another drink back and still charged us.They also changed servers multiple times without even telling us. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I cant believe they have high reviews.
What a disappointment. The place is very nice but the food is not good. Maybe for people that have never tried real authentic Peruvian food it is ok, but....Also, some servers a great but some others can be very very rude.Definitely not coming back.
The ambience at this place was great! I loved the ceviche and the empanada pollo. So delicious! Good cocktails too. It seems like a good space to have an event, too.
Ive been to Lima a couple of times and I fell in love with the food. I have chased those seafood memories with no luck it seems in the states. Boleo has terrific cocktails and incredibly authentic and fresh seafood dishes. The tiradito and the ceviche were top notch.I also loved that they had real anticuchos, which are beef hearts on skewers. Tremendously flavorful and well cooked also. I try and eat here once every time Im staying at the hotel.
Low lit, energetic - yet relaxed atmosphere with an exceptional staff. Food was yummy and our server Madeline was knowledgeable and sweet. She made our experience pleasurable!
Food could be hotter although it is delicious. We were there for a wedding anniversary but got nothing..bartender was a show off (Greg), but was not knowledgeable enough despite trying to show differently
Fun space and ambience. The dishes were tasty and good for sharing but honestly nothing memorable. Service was pretty poor - they appeared to have been very understaffed for the holiday.
Very bad experience at Boleo. The waiter forgot mixed up our drink orders and took a very long time in getting them to us. Then some of the food we ordered was burnt. Finally, I had chosen Boleo to celebrate my birthday with a big group of friends and after they made me go through a hassle of a reservation process and I specified the occasion was my birthday, they didnt bother to even bring a small dessert.
For a South American place, it doesnt have a Latin vibe at all. Came here with my Colombian mother, who was not impressed. Very stiff environment, service took a while. Its beautiful and very classy, just not what I thought was advertised. They played house music, there was a lot of empty, sterile space and just not that comfortable.
We were here and had a really good time, the waitress charged us for one more drink which we didn’t do and she was very rude, ignoring and delaying our drinks. The place is nice but a good service is a must to have.
Had a great meal here with plantain chips as starter, arroz chaufa and loom sal padoBoth were really good, I loved the arroz chaufa just a bit spicy, good food!
We went here for a dinner. One of the servers was rude. It closes a bit early and it’s not really a rooftop restaurant. The food was not that good for the price, but the drinks were okay. I would not go to Boleo again. (Also they require masks while you have already begun you’re meal)
Yucca fries and cocktails are delicious
Fantastic mixed drinks and a a laid back, come as you are vibe. They had a DJ for Friday night happy hour that was pretty good. I had the N.P.D. drink. I would recommend if you like tequila, fresh juice and a little sweetness (fresh watermelen).
We were having a 40th birthday party here - absolutely beautiful location with kick ar$e rooftop deck. Food was very good. But service was slow on drinks and not contiguous to what was previously discussed.
Super trendy, super busy, super expensive bites and drinks! We got stuck paying $50 extra because they wouldnt divide up the check for our group and someone decided to be a jerk. Next time I order my own stuff at the bar...IF I ever go back! Grrr...🤔
Fantastic place for a nice few drinks and food. Our bartender was Jessica and she was amazing.
It was late (after 10:00pm); however they were very accommodating.
I came here with my Puerto Rican girlfriend who already visited Peru couple of times. She said This is not Peruvian at all. From my perspective who never tried Peruvian food, if this is a Peruvian food, Peruvian food could not be famous across the world.
Awesome ambiance, great happy hour specials that go just long enough for the post-work fun but not next day trouble! Food was tasty and service was quick!
The atmosphere is great. Bar is actually really well managed. And the food is amazingly good but very small portions but well worth it.
Excellent service. Love the decor and ambiance. Super tasty food however their plates are a bit too small. Great cocktails too!!
The food and drinks are really good. The service are nice. Its a nice place to spend the time with friends but its very noisy, so you might find yourself raising your voice.
My new favorite go - to restaurant!! Loved the food, loved the atmosphere. Its the perfect rooftop because you get the sun, but never get the rain!! :)
Nice place to spend the evening. Good selection of drinks and tasty food.Add friendly servers to this mix and you got a receipe for an enjoyable time.
Great experience - very friendly staff, easy to work with. Delicious food and drinks. Very cool space. Would definitely recommend and will be back!
Great location in the loops financial district. The interior is refreshing. The service solid. Good spot for corporate mixers and a quick happy hour with friends after work.
Chase took amazing care of us. I enjoyed my experience.
Love, love love. The atmosphere, great bartenders, the live music...there is just so much to like here and it has become one of my favorites. Looking forward to hopefully getting back soon.
Great customer service. We got there late for our reservation but still got great service and food was also delicious. Especially the anticucho! We would definitely come again!
Tasty small plates, but not any gluten free options or opportunity to order the food in a way that is prepared differently than the menu lists (i.e. just ordering fries to avoid the gluten or dairy on them)
Really good place to eat and drink.Has a roof top, you can see the stars from there
Came for salsa night - wish it were weekly - food was great
Company rented the place out for a party. It was like a high end bar / indoor patio hangout. Great service and food. Had a great time.
Very nice place to have a drink, pisco sower was my favorite. I am confuse with the menu, anticuchos: it is a set of plates or an appetizer like in Peru.I would like to eat anticuchos but I think you do not have it; what is more you do not even know how it is prepared. I’m Peruvian and you selling the wrong thing. Omg I gave you 5 starts but I changed to zero... anticuchos is made of cows heart marinated with vinegar and etc.Wao i am impressed how can enybody like you would sell the wrong thing. You are using a Peruvian name of a dish with a wrong ingredients. Shame on you ...! I am hungry!! But I got go somewhere else to eat...
Great service. Gina was helpful and pleasant. The octopus and grape dish was fye. Plantain infused scotch mmmmm. All on a rooftop. 👍👍
Good happy hour, although the cocktails dont taste as fancy as they sound. A reasonable Loop option with a neat atmosphere.
Great service! Some of the best Peruvian food Ive had. Pisco Sour was 4/5 - everything else 5/5!
Great place for drinks and small food. The food was a bit too salty but the spicy margarita was amazing!
Nice place with great food and drinks.love their anticuchos de pollo and the ceviche is great too!!....It will be nice if theres more high top seating.will be back...
We had the best time at Boleo last night. Magical atmosphere with sunlight pouring in, amazing cocktails and food, and thoughtful staff w/ great attention to detail.
Amazing food! And amazing Staff! Chef Cori was amazing and even came to our table to talk with us! Great hosting!
I LOVED the people I met on my BDAY!!! The drinks were great! Great bartenders and servers!
Came here to meet some friends for drinks and snacks. Its a small selection of food items but good for those that want to enjoy company and have some drinks and talk.
The food was so tasty, the cocktail a delight, and out server Reuben was gracious. I highly recommend this place.
Cool place. Drinks were good, food was good. Not sure its worth the price.
Nice place to hang and try some happy hour drinks. Cocktail menu was unique and fun
Was expecting a lot more lively and hip place. Very dead on a Saturday night and views werent as good as advertised. Drinks were decent
Average food quality. Extremely small quantity. After a 40$ bill/person, I left the table hungry and disatisfied!
Delicious Latin cuisine in a romantic setting. Go for the beautiful decor. Return for the service and cocktails!
Great atmosphere, but not cheap either. I thought their Thursday night special will be reasonable but still turned out to be 80+ for two people.
Service was great. $12 Guinness and Jameson. Its tapas so be prepared to share.
Great bar but they need to higher more wait staff. Bar was packed and only 2-3 waiters for the whole place.
Great memories and great live Salsa music
Im shocked this place has such good reviews- really did not enjoy my meal at all. Just not good food.
Great food and service with a distinguished & cosy atmosphere
Excellent tapas, Peruvian style. Good vibe. Decent amount of space. Prices reasonable.
Cool joint but the food is all presentation and no satisfaction. Stick to the drinks. They have those mastered.
Been coming here for almost 10 years. Unique atmosphere, reasonable prices, filling and tasty Middle Eastern food
Waitress was great but drinks were only good and the hostess was a little off-putting
If you are hungrier than a lumberjack, then this is not the place for you. But, if youre looking for something different, interesting, and truly delicious, then give it a try.
Always love coming in to this bar. The food is great, I love the atmosphere, and the staff are always great and courteous!
Incredible food and, hands down, the best cocktail Ive ever had.
Location and drinks are great for afterwork meet up. The food was ok.
Nice cocktails, good apps, solid serviceGreat open roof vibe as well
Kesley(?) Was amazingggg! Definitely going back just to see her. Happy hour food/drinks were pretty great, too.
Sam is great. Had a blast. Need to have the band playing more. DJ played 80s retro
Great cocktailsBut dont come looking for a meal.
Great views and atmosphere. The bartenders are fun and the vibe is overall very cool.
Under staffed and over paranoid with covid made me feel uncomfortable. Food not the best for the prices and bar not equipped with enough bartenders to handle the crowd at hand
The cocktails and food are mediocre. The rooftop is gorgeous! Great ambiance.
Great space design, nice selection of craft cocktails, will definitely go back and try the food.
Beautiful rooftop spot with a delicious drink menu. Limited vegetarian options
Definitely a favorite spot of mine. Get there before it gets too busy or youll be waiting for seats. Amazing ambiance!
Not sure what happened to this place but the new management is terrible. Very corporate, overpriced and lost my respect.
20 min to get order taken and then no drink came, because they didnt have it. Sooooooo 40 min later i was able to oreder again. You decide
Ok lounge. Was kinda dead on a Friday night and food was a little overpriced. Service was great however
Great wine, food, and atmosphere. You should definitely give it a shot.
Not a fan of the food menu but nice ambiance and vibe.
Very nice drinks, great atmosphere and good late night food.
Nice place for a after work happy hour. Good food and nice time
Food was excellent . Service was above and beyond
The waiter forged my reciept and added a $225 tip after leaving our table for an hour. Avoid. Shady.
It was a great dining rooftop experience great food a happy and positive dining experience.
Nice place. I wouldnt call it a rooftop bar though. More like an open air bar
Great happy hour deals. The skewers are all excellent and at 5 bucks are a great deal
Great atmosphere and great food. Fine dining at its best.
We were not fans of the food, but we loved the drinks and the atmosphere
Nice music & ambience, Fun cocktails, Decent food, Surprisingly not too crowded
Food was good but the quantity was super tiny. The service was 3/5.
Excellent small plates and lovely cocktails in a beautiful space
Excellent food, great ambiance, very nice and helpful staff

Great place for afterwork drinks.
Nice upscale bar to grab a drink. Bartenders were nice and helpful.
Great food and service. Been going here a couple of years
Great drinks, excellent staff, beautiful setting
Great tasty and surprising cocktails, good vibe
The chicken empanadas were absolutely delicious.
Great spot for drinks and as a wedding venue.
Says its a rooftop bar but doesnt have rooftop access. Drinks are expensive and not that good
