This place was ridiculous in terms of policies. Attempted to enjoy a night with a party of 4, told two different fees for entry (10 vs 20) and said 2 people per hookah (which is fine) but then stated that everyone entering must purchase a hookah (scam) because that’s not listed in the rules. It’s BYOB but also have to pay to drink your OWN LIQUOR (7). Servers attitude was disgusting as well! Don’t recommend as a tourist,
Its $10 to get in. $20 maybe $40 after 12am Its $7 to bring your own bottle and DRINK it.You have 70 mins to smoke your hookah (if they are busy) per the server. You have to pay for hookah even if you are not smoking. It is very small with limited seating. You may have to sit on the floor potentially. I would not suggest visiting if youre not familiar with the policy. The server was rude and did not tell us the rules initially. I called before going and this was not mentioned before. I will not be back.
Hookah was okay. The place has Middle East decor, but had hardcore, disgusting rap music playing, women’s wrestling playing on one tv and MLB on the other. There was seating on carpeted floor, with black shag carpet that felt kinda gross.Would NOT recommend this place to anyone wanting to enjoy a relaxing hookah.
Still the same when I left chill vibes 😉 definitely a spot to stop in Chicago still has the same Chitown vibes. See ya next time!
Lacks professionalism. The wait time is never accurate. Waited over 2 hours to be seated. Always told “it’s two ppl in front of you” .Not much space.Being told different prices. Having to enter , pay for byob, pay for hookah.
Nice vibe & atmosphere. They only have 2 bathrooms. 1 for men 1 for women. They dont serve food, but it is BYOB. The music is cool r&b /hip hop. The hookahs hit. The parking sucks.
Went here twice during my solo stay in Chicago.First time was amazing, I was flashed by the beautiful Ambiente and loved the seats on the floor as well as the music. After 70 mins I was told that my time was up so I ordered another hookah which I didnt mind.Since I enjoyed that stay so much, I decided to go again yesterday (8th April).I arrived at around 10pm.The guy with blonde hair, I suppose he is rather new, was very friendly and helpful. However, this one girl with black straight hair was so rude to me from the beginning. She made me pay up front even though I said I’d like to pay after. She told me this guy on the other table wanted me to sit with him, when I said no she came back and said he wants to sit at my table then.I said no again, felt really uncomfortable at this point and she is asking me “what, you got a man or what?” Which is highly unprofessional and made me uncomfortable as a solo female traveller. She told me I had 20 mins left before my time was up then kicked me out 10 mins later. When I said I’d like to order another hookah she said no and that I need to go.There was a minor fight between two guys that had already calmed down though. She said because of that fight they’re closing and I need to go.Mind you, the place was still full with people and I was the only one getting kicked out.I really don’t know what her problem was with me, she made it obvious that she wanted me out of there and tried to find a really sorry reason for it.It unfortunately really ruined this hookah bars experience for me as I really liked it the first time. I really hope that the management of this place can look into this and train their staff better.
This voice was pretty reasonable. It was nice. It is small though. Thats the only thing but you can tell everyone was having a great time there and everyone else that works there was okay. They will check IDs so you need to be 21. Even if youre just coming in to sit down. Double check your ID. You can bring your own alcohol to no other drink that is non-alcoholic because they serve those themselves I like to vibe so I definitely will be going back.
They scammed me out of $90 they let these other 2 girls that came in get two hookah for $100 and they gave me one hookah for 80. Friday, May 17 I went to this place for the first time when I got there. They told me that it was gonna be a 30 minute wait because it was packed. We get in line after those 30 minutes to walk in and the security tell us that it’s $20 at the door so me and my friends have to pay $20 to get in there and it was not packed so I was lied to and scammed out of my money, secondly when we got in there, the black girl that was taken everyone order was really messy with a nasty attitude. It was 1 o’clock in the morning and the place doesn’t close down till four and they told me that they can’t give me any more hookah mind you I just paid $80 $90 actually to get in here and you guys can’t compensate me for another hookah OK so now I’m drinking , I see the black girl that’s taking orders. She’s giving people coal to put on top of their hookah so I asked her if she could put more on my hookah. She tells me to hold on. She goes downstairs to the security guard and the security guard comes up and kicks me and my friends out I will never be back to this place. It’s horrible. I wouldn’t recommend it and they’re not Black people friendly.
Fun spot, definitely had fun. Just wish they sold liquor but its cool to bring your own as well. Nice spot, vibe was cool and staff was friendly. Smoke was excellent 👌 👏🏾
Amazing location. Nice vibe, could stay all day. Hookah was the best. Staff very professional and attentive Highly recommended.
I had a good time. Very much a vibe. S/O to Nik for providing the the vibes.
Been having hookah everywhere I travel and their quality control on the heads are perfect. One of the best I have tried in the US until now. Was in Chicago for 4 nights and went 3 times. It is true that there is a 10$ cover but it is probably on weekends only I supposed as I didnt have one on thursday night. The ambiance is nice, small and cozy. Recommend for sure :)
It was a okay spot. I didn’t like that it was an unexpected charge for everything. And then just when I was enjoying myself they come telling us we have 5 minutes left. Which was very annoying because we should have been told at the door it was a time limit we could be there. Probably will never come back again
SABA was delightful, me & my husband came here on Valentine’s Day & we were lit lol but SABA was patient & polite and switched out the hookah that we didn’t like. They also cleaned down the seat of the couple that sat next to us Lysol/bleach which was nice to know since most establishments have gotten lax on that since Covid. Thanks SABA ❤️
This was a great spot to chill with friends. Laid back atmosphere. Hookah options were plenty. Dj was a vibe.
Absolutely tf not this is a whole in the wall establishment. It was so small and tight in there we had to sit on the floor. Stereo speakers were terrible music sounded broken. Never again
People are CONSTANTLY screaming fighting outside of this place at 3am. I wish the city would shut them down already.
Its a ghetto hookah joint so If thats your scene your in good hands, but if your looking for class, professional staff and a clean environment keep it moving.Rating-Hookah 5/10 (mild taste)-THC 0/10 ( bring your own )-Vibes 3/10 (too crowded even when sitting down)-Music 7/10 (strictly hip-hop)-Service 6/10 (typical service)-Charges 4/10(Entrance fee $10.00Small table with one hookah with bring your own. Liquor is $45.05)If you want a bigger table it you have to buy two hookahsAnd there is a liquor fee cups fee.
Shoutout nik big help great customer service 10/10 recommend
Shout out to nick… he will definitely take care of you !
No real security. I wasnt greeted or anything. My hookah wasnt checked before it was set at my table. This is poor customer service and girl that greets people at the register should work on her customer service skills. But great music is the only reason I gave them a star. Be Great. Be Better. Be Careful. Respectfully.
Saba was amazing , from start to finish. Will def be back.
Ive been coming here for years and never wouldve thought this place would become a disgrace. The customer service is disappointing, the host on Fridays is extremely lame, asking for ratings in order to change the genre of music smh. This place use to be the spot . Now I wouldnt come back if the hookah was free at this point. Im here and writing it lol. Im just sitting trying to understand this business thought process. Well on to the next location. Hope this helps the next customers.
TERRIBLE SERVICE !!!! This the second time Ive been and have been disappointed its a rip off. The security told me that it was a 45 min wait after waiting an hour in my hour I noticed he was letting people in but never called me for my table so I proceeded to go and ask about my reservation he said I havent forgot you all are next so then I went back and waited another 30 mins to notice him letting more people in and asked again about my reservation where he said I let them in because the have more people in their party so because it was only 2 of us we werent a priority.! I asked him to get the manger the manger came out and said he has a table but we still have to pay $20.00 to get in plus pay for the hookah but he would discount the $7.00 BYOB FEE are u kidding me ???? WORSE EXPERIENCE EVER .!
Service was so bad I felt like a burden to staff as if they did not want me there. In retrospect I should have taken my business elsewhere. Hookah was trash and the vibe was just so off.
So I am not from chicago and dont understand being charged for not smoking?!?! This is a tiny place and you have a limit for smoking hooka. I understand that from a business stand point but not so much from a customer. They serve food here as well so its like restaurants saying u only have x amount of time to eat. Anyways it was a byob so we brought vodka and soda. I mean its cheaper to buy a hooka cause u gotta bring your own drinks too. So as a tourist dont go cause lets be honest we dont carry our own liquor around. Oh and I ordered coffee there not that great
Saba was a great host I really enjoyed my time
House of hookah was a great experience, the customer services was excellent and I will def recommend you check this small business
Ramon saba Brittney Lauren and el BRACO ARE THE BEST
With all due respect, I have been to this establishment many times before and have never experienced the amount of disrespect I experienced during my last visit on October 7th 2023. The security staff took bribes from other guest to cut line and openly asked for money to be let in. In addition to this, the security staff stated it would be a maximum wait of 70 minutes. My entire party waited outside for over 70 minutes and when we approached the security staff again and inquired about our wait the security staff made up another reason not to let us in. I hate to pull the race card but unfortunately this is what the experience felt like. Multiple guests who are of African American race were let in in front of my party. For transparency reasons I would like to add that me and my entire party are of Mexican descent. Please stay away from this establishment unless you want to be racially profiled by the security staff who openly asked and accepted bribes to let guest in. I appreciate anyone who took the time to read this review. If I was part of ownership, I would fire the entire security staff who was on duty during the night of October 7th, 2023.
The only place in Chicago you can get legal cannabis in your hookah! Super chill environment, great group of folks, and you will leave very satisfied with your order!
Nah this aint it sorry ive been tryna write an honest review but nah the customer service is horrible, it always been extremely small, before it was black owned so i was prepared to touch elbow to elbows no problem, but the speaker sounded like it was Blown out you can tell someone was playing music on their phone like it was giving ghetto, as far as the hookah it was ok it took them forever to come & move the charcoal so it can hit better then we wanted a hookah candy tip they had many options on the menu but only had Melon the guy didnt offer to give it for free or 50% off due to the other flavors wasnt in stock. I wouldnt be back at all & i was happy seeing it black owned defin tried to support.
Never even stepped inside, thanks to the bouncers I’m never going back! they were picking and choosing who to let in & let’s not talk about changing the cover-charge right in front of my eyes! -Next
Nikko was absolutely amazing and the hookah was on point.
Pricing: Horrible. This placed is extremely overpriced. Charged 10 at the door and then also had to pay for hookah (of course), but the catch is that they do not explain at the door that after an hour they will ask you to leave so they can let others sit down considering the place is uncomfortably small. Their process involves them coming over and whispering to you, you have 5 min and then we’ll need to use you section for someone else. So about 30-40 dollars just to sit for about an hour. A WASTE. Thank God I did not purchase anything else. I wouldn’t give them another dime.Ambiance: Music was extremely muffled. You could barely hear it. Sounded like someone was playing it off of their phone.Hookah quality: hookah was horrible. It did not pull and staff never came back to check if things were going well but we’re sitting down with their regular customers smoking. Coals were not changed until briefly before staff came over to tell us we had 5 min left.Bottom line: DONT GO HERE. Save your money. Go some where that they value customers
I had a great time the employees were extremely nice! I highly recommend.
Good hookahs, bad sound system. Clearly under new management as the quality is not up to snuff. Owner did everything to make my experience better, but overall the OG experience is long gone.
The reviewers that said they charge for every little thing are correct. However I enjoyed myself and the hookah was very good. They played really good hip hop music which I prefer to the middle eastern music most places play. I honestly appreciate being able to bring my own bottle because if they served drinks it would be like $15 for one drink with just a shot of alcohol. This was way more economic even with the charge to bring the bottle in. Although the place is packed with black people, we found out this is not black owned unfortunately.
The hooks was good, they had no tea or hot drinks. The people sitting there forced the server to play Vulgar and offensive Hip-Hop music, despite being in Middle Eastern place, they forced other to listen to their own music instead of absorbing the culture and get the right experience! Wonder how this would work if it was the other way around!!!
This Mf Abe Over Turnt Can’t Make It Up Service Over Great Not expensive at all guys 10/10 high recommend 🥳🥳 saba is the best
The service was very good n the waitress
Its DEFINITELY a vibe 🙌🏽 10/10 I recommend. I would have to get used to the space, but I get why its like that!!!
Ramon made sure we were taken care of even without a reservation. Extremely pleasant & so was Niko!! Had a blast !
Love the vibe! Great customer service and great music!!! Love them, come check it out.
Awesome place very laid back and chill definitely recommend 10 out of 10 for sure! Definitely will be back!!! Excellent customer service!!!!
Saba was real accommodating, I loved my experience and my visit here was definitely worth coming back for. I love the environment and will definitely be visiting soon !
Definitely one of the worst hookah lounges ever. Went in with 3 other people (30 years and older). We were yelled at Ah wait wait while looking for a table and told he needs to see our IDs first..... After sitting down and waiting for about 10 minutes, no one came to get our order. Had to go up to the worker and order since he was sitting and smoking. 3 groups entered at various times after us, and not one person was asked to show ID. We ordered one double apple hookah and one blueberry hookah. The double apple didnt taste like anything because they clearly had put other flavors in that hookah. After smoking for 15 minutes, the worker came and asked us to pay but told us we could still stay, but they would be closing early today. After another 20 minutes (45 minutes total) we never got new coals, so we left.
Im going to be honest. I didnt know if I wanted to post a review because this place is so great, I want it all to myself! HOH was the best find. It has a great atmosphere, from the owner to all of the staff it was a pleasant experience. Its hard to find chills shots with hip hip music. This place is perfect for just about any occasion. Cant wait to go back.
I’m not from here and it was a good recommendation. 5/5 I recommend it good lowkey spot, good hookah, good atmosphere
Went here on a Thursday night. Ive never been more disappointed in a hookah spot. First, they make you tip as you pay. How am I supposed to know how good the service was beforehand? The hookah was not only below average but they did not give us tongs to ash the coals with. Red flag. The vibes in here were dead, quiet and creepy. Nobody was speaking just staring at the walls.
My first time here and my first time being in Chicago..I enjoyed this place. The vibe is good and chill and the music is great! Although I feel like one of the servers knew I was from out of town🤣but I knew what I was talking about😌
First time visiting. Good music. $10 Cover at the door. Long wait times. Ladies, be mindful if you wear a dress, as you could be seated on the floor. My party was seated at a floor table with floor cushions, not cute, not comfortable, but we had to work with it. Bring your own everything - literally. People were coming with their own drinks and food. We were told we had to buy mandatory of 2 Hookahs for our party of 4 -which came to about $80. Good choices of flavors - the gummy bear and mango were good choices. Small hidden spot - little parking, but check em out. Still good vibes here.
BEST HOOKAH IN CHICAGO! I love this hookah bar! The flavors are great and they are really accommodating. I would compare them to hookah spots across the US and rate them in my top 5! I will definitely be back every time I’m in Chi town! They really made the end of my trip. Ashley makes all the hookahs to perfection. I appreciate the experience! 10 out of 10 definitely recommend!
Such a vibe , saba being the best dj out there ! music defff made the experience a 10/10 HIGLY RECOMMEND -former louisiana resident
This place was definitely nicely designed. The only reason I didnt give them 5 stars is because I didnt get to test anything out. They were really busy and had a waiting list. But the host was very courteous and answered all of our questions.
They do not let you in over an hour before closing so they actually close at 12:50pm. Also the staff are very rude. I love to support black owned businesses but this place is not a good environment. We came with good energy but They were very disrespectful at the door. I no longer recommend this place. Also you aren’t allowed to dance to the music.
I don’t know where to start. The door guys are very welcoming. There is a lady here who is a pro at mixes. She makes me want to step up my shisha knowledge. I met the owner who was so kind and very informative. The place was clean. They have a time limit which helps everyone get a turn. They have the biggest selection I have ever seen. I recommend this place highly as a tourist.
Visited this place as my first time in Chicago and by far the worse customer experience I have had while traveling. If you are looking for a good vibe, I do not recommend this place. There is a charge for everything, even breathing, and a 70 min max (instead of charging or even offering repacks) to be in the establishment, even after paying all of the charges to create our own vibe (byob, food, hookah per two people at a table of 8, own music because the playlist is trash, 1 person’s existence because they weren’t smoking but visiting me as I was in town). The problem I have is that hookah is not even derived from our cultural, and I had a way better experience at a different place in Chicago, or any other place to be quite Frank. We were only waited on for charging our cards and to tell us our time was up (even though there were empty tables and no lines, which is what we were initially told the time is for). I was excited to experience a black owned Hookah Lounge, and support, however I will not recommend this to anyone or be visiting here again. Hopefully this is to help understand that consumers should be first when running a consumer based business, we are not interested in just spending our money because someone needs it. Customer service and experience should be at the forefront.
Basically took my money they last server and guy with the dreads showed hella favoritism. We ordered the hookah took about 12 min to come then about 15 min later she bought the bill and 20 min after that she said you have to get up your time is over I swear to god they basically took my money unprofessional
I’m visiting from LA and this place has been so fun. literally 10/10.
I am used to London, Istanbul and Toronto places. So my expectations may be too high, but this place is not a place I would go back to. No hot drinks, service is not one to write home about. I am sure there are much better places to go to.
Saba es la best! He’s so attentive and is constantly keeping up with our hookah needs. He has turned me to a regular.
Nikko was a wonderful host !
First time going. Laid back atmosphere. Not that big, so definitely get there early or call to reserve a table if possible. They have regular hookah, as well as cannabis infused. Its BYOB also!! Great place for you and the homies to chill.
I just want to start by saying Z was a real cool guy and took good care of me and my friends. We were visiting from Atlanta and came across this place on a Sunday night. The vibe was real chill and comfy and the artwork on the wall was pretty dope. I know I hit the hookah too hard though and got sick and Z knew right away that I probably just ate a big meal and thats why I got nauseous. He gave me something to drink to help settle my stomach which was a big help. All in all next time I come back to Chicago I would love to patron his business again.
We waited 30 mins then was told we had 20 mins left after an hr when ppl that been here b4 us were still seated...guess this one of those places where u gotta know someone...
This place is a ripoff. Me and two girlfriends went here on Saturday night and the service was awful. They don’t take reservations so we had to put a name on the list for an hour wait. When we put our names down he said it’s $10 cover and $7/person to BYOB. Waited over an hour and finally received a call saying our table was ready. Once we get to the door we’re told not only is there the $10 cover, $7 BYOB fee, but since there’s 3 of us we would have to get 2 hookahs at $30 minimum. He waited until we waited an hour to tell us that knowing ppl would leave. On top of everything he didn’t take cash or card so we had to CashApp him smh.
I will not go to another hookah bar ever again. This one sold me. The manager here is awesome, so are the staff. Very accommodating. I had a serious incident where right after I had ordered a fruit head hookah and some teas with a friend, had to rush out after about 2 minutes with an emergency. We later came in and was offered a deal from the manager because he was so nice and understanding. Their flavors are amazing, they actually give you what you ask for unlike every other hookah bar that takes advantage of your lack of knowledge on tobacco tastes and brands. If theyre out of something, they tell you and recommend something else instead of mixing random flavors and lying. Atmosphere is SO CHILL and vibes are great. Ive also never had such an amazing quality hookah before in my life. Usually other places its harsh or burns quick. Its so smooth here because theyre so knowledgeable on how to build their hookahs properly. My spot!
Shout out to Aikko, he’s the best!! Me and my friend came from Minnesota and he showed us a good time!
We had a terrible experience at House of Hookah. We waited over an hour for a table and eventually settled for a shared table with strangers. Fine, no big deal. We ordered our hookah with natural charcoal and waited. And waited. And waited. About 25 minutes later, we were brought a hookah with quick light charcoals. It wasnt hitting at all and the flavors were pretty gross. We kept requesting natural charcoals, as we ordered, and were told they were being lit. The place itself is very crowded, loud, smoky, and just absolutely chaotic with people yelling at each other just to hear one another. All of a sudden, a fight between two men break out inside the hookah lounge. The employees begin scrambling, yelling at each other, acting frantic, etc. Eventually the men and the people they were with are kicked out and they decide to close early for the night and kick everyone out. We were charged FULL PRICE for our mediocre hookah that we had for 5 minutes with the wrong charcoal. When we asked about how this could be possible, we were met with an attitude. They took a lousy $5 off and told us we needed to leave immediately, despite two angry parties violently threatening each other waiting just a few steps outside. Never again.
Came to Chicago for the weekend to blog for YouTube and Tiktok for 500k+ followers, this was one of the few spots i was actually really excited to go to. Tried to get in twice, first night it was completely packed so I didnt expect to get in. But yesterday i called ahead of time to try to get in, was told i can reserve the table for $100(had a party of seven), and then i called again to confirm reservation and they didnt even know what i was talking about but was told to show up, i was still willing to drop the $100 but they didnt do it.(take in mind Im 30 minutes away) but i still drove up, went in, there were two tables open. One group of 4 was ahead so i understood one table would be taken, the guy that attended me was great(this is the guy that said i could reserve for $100, but he wasnt even told I called back to finalize) so their communication sucked. And we ended up being put down on a list to see the group after us was let in. If youre Hispanic stay away bc its most likely you wont get a call, we ended up going to My hookah lounge and had a blast.
The crew is amazing and super friendly. Very knowledgeable, let you smell all kinds of flavors. The list of flavors is insane. Great quality and its a clean place with comfy seating. People complain that they have a fee per person whether they smoke or not. Well, how could they survive if a group of 6 people ordered one hookah?
Place used to be great! But since COVID it has changed drastically. $10 per person entry fee. $7 per person BYOB. My group paid $51 dollar before even selecting out hookah. The place is an absolute waste of time, energy, and money.
Clean and nice and great vibe. Definitely my new place to go to !
There website mentions no cover, at the door there was a cover. The lounge area is small. The hookah itself looked nice, but infusing it kinda steps on the flavor Big Time. Not too mention the involuntary tipping methods they impose. The music was good thats about it.
They are literally so rude, we went there Halloween night bought 5 hookahs and was rushed out. The owner yelled at us and spilled a drink on my friend in the process of taking our hookahs.
LOVED MY EXPERIENCE WONDERFUL ATMOSPHERE STAY OPEN AND THE WAIT IS NOT LONG !! GREAT ON THE WEEKDAYS LOVE RON AND HIS VIBE !!!! ITS 3:54 in the morning he talking to us as I type !! One of the best vibes ever .. all the staff is friendly! I love it
Absolutely AMAZING customer service. Zee was kind and courteous of our time. My girlfriend and I are from out of town and we love hookah. This was the closest place to us and we’re glad we chose it because the vibe was absolutely amazing. And it’s BYOB! Will HIGHLY recommend :D
This used to be a really good hookah bar to go to until there became too many fees and rules. You only get 70 minutes for hookah and they will literally make sure theyre checking your time so you don’t go over your minutes. There is a 10 dollar per person cover charge and a 7 dollar byob charge. To change the head of your hookah, it costs an extra 30. They have rules on where you can and cannot sit. It’s just not worth it to me to be in a cramped space and have to pay so much money and I won’t be going back.
Dont recommend. Very small venue, one small speaker. They charge you to get in, charge you if you dont smoke, hookah price is only 2 per person. They dont greet you at the door nor provide a menu but add on extra charges. Not worth it all. Will not be back
Edited review: Initially I gave this place 3 stars for not serving tap water (bottled water is unnecessary and wasteful). However am changing my review to 5 stars based off of my last visit. The guys who work here are awesome, and so too are the customers. Expect some great conversations!
Great service and music, very chill spot
***EditedThe owner is amazing and very understanding. There was a miscommunication issue however, after talking to the owner we reached a consensus. The hookah is prepared very well and reminds me of back home, don’t sleep on the smoothies! Will definitely come back when in Chicago.
Really lovely hookah spot ! My bestie and I went there , staff was so nice, great hookah and cannabis .Only thing to say is thanks so much , left you a 20 tip cash andIf this place expanded by making it a hookah bar and Club with all the good tracks they play, belly dancing , parties plus international music it would be greater than it is now!I hope this place always has good business and African American staff .Appreciate the staff, service , hookah and atmosphere .Definitely best hookah bar in Chicago. ❤
Do not come here. The security guard charged me and my girlfriend $10 cover to get in but let everyone else in for free. He said hookah was $30. We brought our own beer and charged us $7 each for a “liquor fee”. Then when this girl brought the hookah she charged us $60. I said i thought the hookah was $30 and she said oh its a liquor fee and i said we already paid that. She asked him and confirmed then said oh no its a “seating fee.” We argued for 30 sec and i said you know what i will not argue for $15. Beware of this shadd place. When we finally got the hookah it was horrible. It wasnt made well. Never again!
Saba is a good host great vibe
They charge $40 to smoke weed inside. That’s highway robbery. Just say no, I’m sure charging to allow it is illegal. They charge to BYOB, charge $10 cover fee, force you to buy more hookah than needed. I would not recommend. The owners are the same but there is new management there. They are giving scammers!
If you want a good time LOOK NO FURTHER! I frequent this place and everything from the vibe to the customer service and Ofcourse the HOOKAH is stellar! Ask for Zee as he is the man; and everyone there is welcoming, while making sure your experience is comfortable and tasteful.
Good vibes good music Parking not bad and the hookah pull good. Small place so you can come here chill easy date night or whatever
Great service!! The owner let us in for our friend’s birthday when they were close to closing. We were treated well and welcomed back for another visit. Would definitely go back.
House of Hookah is an all around vibe all around. Good hookah. Good people. Everything. Best part is the service. Z really will take care of you. I am from out of town but soon as I walked in I felt like I was at home. We walked and was immediately were welcomed with great service. He even played Hit Em Up for me when I asked him. Come support you wont be disappointed.
Unfortunately, it’s first time for me and last time for sure. Very rude attitude. Asked for the ID with a bad way. He didn’t even say Hi. And the way how he pointed his finger to us was really not acceptable at all.
My wife and I had a good time here. Its a chill hookah lounge that offers BYOB for $5 per person. They have a good assortment of flavors, fruit bowls, and candy mouth pieces for extra flavor.Even on a Tuesday the place nearly filled around 9, but they didnt rush us out and let us take our time. Have been waiting to come to this place for a long time and will hopefully be back again soon.
OMG This place is small to the point it is claustrophobic! We went there first time last Saturday and of course we had to wait for a table. This is not the biggest problem, because the decor feels like it is dirty and old. Not appealing at all. Their service was pretty good though. Once we sat down, they brought our orders as fast as they could.
The location is really small, but the shish is strong and relaxing. Each time I have been here, the people have all been really friendly and fun. sometimes service is a little slow, but I mean, not to the point I would call it crappy, its more of a relaxed atmosphere type of slow, which I think is okay. B.Y.O.B. is awesome too.I like that they have a section reserved for larger groups to lounge with a two hookah minimum.
Nice chill clean place. Many hookah flavors. I would return. You can BYOB also which is always nice to add with the hookah and small plate options that is there.
The milk shake was great (vanilla with Oreo) other than that, never again. They pretty much charge you to breath. $10 cover charge, $33 for the hookah, its byob but $7 to drink it, they seat you and charge you to move. 2 stars for the milkshake. The place itself, 1.
Very nice chill spot even for someone like me who doesnt smoke hookah often it was still great! The atmosphere, the ambiance of definitely go back! And we met the owner or one of the owners and he was very welcoming
Favorite lounge in the city! Lots of flavor options and the service + vibe is always immaculate. Can’t go wrong with coming here.
NIKKO was the best server… made sure everything we wanted was given… took out photos etc.thank you Nikko
This place is a scam. They literally charge for everything! You have a short time limit and they charge you $20 just to sit down when it is first come first serve? They also charge $7 per person for byob!? There is a cover charge at the door and any additional person after two ppl is $16 whether they smoke or not. Literally insane. Please dont waste your time, energy or money!
I love this hookah bar they make you feel so comfortable. we only paid $50 for 3 people on hookah!! how can you beat that?!?
Place has a beautiful ambiance and chill vibe!!
$27 for two people including $5 tip and one bottle of water. Can mix flavors (we got guava/mojito). Chill music in the background, very cozy, can make reservations. Overall a very positive first experience. Will go there again
This lounge had a pretty good rating on Google, and the valet guy at the hotel heard that it was ok. My wife and I were still willing to take a chance on this business because some reviews stated that the vibe was relaxed and the music was decent. First off, the size of the lounge is minimal. Therefore I would advise calling ahead before making the drive. When we got there, there were no tables available. Our other options were an $80 booth which required you to purchase two Hookah set-ups or get on a list. We chose the $80 booth option, however, this required that you sit on the floor and lean on pillows with cigarettes holes, not ideal. My wife and I tried to bargain with the owners about other options but they werent have it. We expressed that money wasnt an issue because we drove twenty minutes in an Uber from downtown (Sofitel Chicago Magnificent Mile). At the end of the conversation they recommend another lounge. We took their advise and went to another lounge and had an awesome experince because they did everything House of Hookah didnt.I am an entrepreneur as well, and I understand how vital your local clients are. However, visitors of your city chose to patronize businesses off of reviews and word of mouth. Therefore being a little more flexible and accommodating may be worth your while. Sometimes you dont get a second chance to make a first impression.
PASSIONATE AND PERSONAL TAKES PRIDE IN THEIR BUSINESS!! STAFF & OWNER RYAN, MY 1ST TIME BIG IMPRESSION..... WILL COME AGAIN AND HIGLY RECOMMEND YOU VISIT!!! LO-KEY PLEASURABLE WORTH THE TIME AND WAIT. GOOD MUSIC & VIBRANT COLORS... (even the Strawberries & Cream milkshake was superb) WELCOME BACK!!!!! (PHASE 4 CHICAGO)...
Went on Christmas Eve. First time there, was nice not too many people so the time limit wasnt enforced. Couldnt have had a better time. Nice place to go to before a night out on the town. New spot, will be going back.
Beautiful experience, nice staff and impressive choice of tobaccos. We were visiting from Montreal and Raed was very welcoming. Shoukran 3al karam. I definitly recommand the place!!
Over priced! I was told over the phone there was no cover charged and I had to pay for hookah that seat two ppl for $30 & it’s byob. I come there’s a cover charge $10 then when my friends came and didn’t smoke they were charged! Then they tried to charge a “table charge” of $20?! That was my first time there and my last time there! I don’t recommend.
Very UNPROFESSIONAL STAFF AND MANAGER. The first time I went the hookah waitress was sitting down with the people I came with and began to mug me and my friend. Then told the group I was with that they had to leave since they added more people to the group, which is crazy because more money would’ve been spent. The second time I went, we joined a group, bought hookah had it for 30 mins and he told us we had to leave all together because their time was up. But their policy says 70 mins per order. So they practically robbed us and then caught a huge unprofessional attitude with CUSTOMERS. The place is very small, but they try to treat it as if it’s a club with sections. You can only sit on the couches if you buy 2 or more hookahs. Very weird policies for such a small spot.
Theres cutting costs then theres being very cheap yet still overpriced (which is what they are). The hookah head only fits one charcoal. Thats how small it is, tiny! Saves em tobacco & charcoal. You can imagine it burns out in 15 min. But it is still priced at $17, where other places give you a head that lasts for an hour. They dont change the charcoal for you untill you call them. Nor did they give you tweezers unless you ask for them. And they only had three kings (cheap kind). I like natural square ones. All these are basic and expected, unless youre a novice and very gullible. It wasnt a busy night. I wouldnt go back. The problem wasnt communication, the problem is you guys provide subpar service but charge a premium. Its very hard to miss us being that we came on a Tuesday night and there was only five other people. But when all your workers are on their phones, chatting, that means management is bad.Long story short, if you want your moneys worth, go somewhere else. Unless you know what youre doing, they are ripping you off. I dont like businesses who take advantage of their customers, and this is what they are doing.UPDATE: The owner is so petty, he took the time out of his day to look me up, find my business & leave us a fake bad review. Very pathetic & sad (we were rated 5 stars!) Very jealous.
The service & staff was amazing! Very comfortable atmosphere and the owner was flexible enough to switch out my flavors when I didn’t like what I originally chose. 10/10 would go again!
Very rude , we were told to leave because our time was up. Nowhere does it say u have a time limit!! I payed $100 to be put out before my hookah was even finished. I will never step foot in there again. So disappointing. Your own people treat u the worst.
Nice and cute but very small and lowkey I’m sure the capacity is like 20-25 people Music was nice as well we went for date night I’ll be returning In the future.
Worse hookah experience I have had in Chicago. The place is too small and they had the heat all the way up so it was very uncomfortably hot. They do not know how to make bowls and the flavors are too harsh because of the cheap coals they use. 2 different employees tried to fix my hookah and they both failed. I never enjoyed one hit from it but was still charged full price for it. I will never return.
Cover charge took me by suprise for a hookah spot ($10) but other than that ,GO!BYOB and crazy variety of shisha. The vibe is dope and they have GREAT add ons. 🤭You will not be disappointed.
Best hookah Lounge in the city!! Huge variety of hookah flavors! they also offer amenities for the weed smokers. Hookahs are $24.99 each for up to 2 people. The vibe is very chill! Awesome staff✔ Family owned business.
Definitely do not recommend if your trying to enjoy a good hookah with some privacy . The place was the size of my kitchen. We sat with a group of strangers, we were very uncomfortable. We were bumping legs. Had no privacy at all. Also, the chairs were dining room chairs. The hookah was literally burnt!! We left after literally 20 mins of the hookah arriving. Horrible experience! Don’t waste your time or money!!
It’s always a vibe!
Great staff. Very accommodating with late night hours. Must go place.
Great vibes , multi varieties hookah it’s a all around WIN ! The artwork the customer service and urgency is superior. Ask for Saba
Came in and was put on the waitlist. A couple who came in after us got seated before we did and one of the reps said they called in before we did. However, we saw them put their names on the wait list and the only reason they sat them down was because they bought a hookah to smoke while waiting. The male rep with short dreads was rude and just wouldn’t recommend. Even a local said they treat people badly
I used to frequent this place years ago. Since the last time I was there some updates have been made. I really the new decor and how the place looks, but there is room for improvement in other areas. I never had an issue before with this place even considering the small space of the establishment but it seems with the new management along came new problems. The worst thing about this place is the management. The guy who claimed to be the new manager was very rude and very arrogant. The breif encounter I had with him was so bad it left a sour taste in my mouth and makes me want to avoid ever going to House of Hookah again. He was very condescending and did not make me and my party feel welcome at all. The time we had there was very rushed, I felt as though they had started counting the time we had as soon as we walked in the door and on top of that the employees were not very attentive. They all talked amongst themselves at the counter chit chatting away and smoking hookah. In the past when my time was coming to an end I felt inclined to purchase another hookah to extend my pleasant time, but this last time I was there I didnt mind leaving because the vibes and atmosphere were totally out of whack. It wasnt even a busy night, there were plenty of open tables, yet the service i had there was horrendous. shall i ever go back it will only be because they have a BYOB policy.
Saba have really good vibes and play all the nice music!! very professional and customer friendly
We are from out of town and drove an hour to this place for them to tell us there’s a waitlist once we got there even though we called an hour before getting there and no mention of a waitlist. Waitlist due to Covid (max 15 customers) and there was only 6-7 people. And the owner has a ugly attitude.
I have been going here for years, and the vibe is simply unmatched. The entire staff makes you feel like family and youre guaranteed to have a good time.
The hookahs here taste excellent and seating is really cool. They have 3 different kinds of seating: chairs, couches, and a lounge with lots of pillows, so comfort is not an issue. Service is friendly and helpful and gives some good recommendations.
This is the best hookah bar in the city!!!!!!!! I come here every single week with my friends and we always receive exceptional customer service. Ramone is the best we love him 💛💛 10/10
Hello so My cousin is here from out of town and it’s his birthday. I recommended house of hookah .. so we took an hr drive got there and was turned around . wasn’t greeted . was told “ SORRY BUDDY WE ARENT TAKING ANYMORE PPL. mind you the website says 4 am .. very unprofessional .. will not be Back !!
The atmosphere was dope! A lot of hookah flavors I liked..... Problems that I had with the place was it’s so clustered and it’s hard to really move around.... and you only have 70 minutes to smoke... I’m a hookah smoker so I like to have at least 2 hours to smoke.... and I also wouldn’t advise no one to bring a non-smoker because they will charge you... and people that drives I wouldn’t advise you to drive there.... and Uber or Lyft would be better! BYOB By the way even though they charge you $5 for that too!
This was the BEST hookah bar I’ve been to in Chicago! Great location, great vibe and the menu is AMAZING!! This is definitely my new spot!! And I can’t forget, all the staff members were warm and welcoming!!
The place looked nice and comfy. But, they asked for so much money for nothing. The hookah was over priced and had a requirement 1 hookah per 2 people. We were 5 customers who were willing to get two hookahs and some drinks. For the extra person she wanted to add and extra charge of 11.99. Totally not worth it!
Amazing chill spot, vibes and atmosphere is great. Staff and owner are very welcoming. I will always go there when I’m in town. #supportblackbusinesses
This is the best hookah bar in Chicago hands down. Ive been to almost all the hookah bars in Chicago amd the surrounding region. The atmosphere is here is really chill and laid back. There is a great selection of shish. There is a flavor for everyone to enjoy. They also sell hookahs and the accessories to go with them. I highly recommend you check this place out. Who knows you might even sot next to a celebrity!
Nikko my boy! 5 stars everytime and top tier service. Appreciate it everytime!
Chill lil vibe wasnt too comfortable when the greeter encouraged me to sit across from a couple I didnt know. I came in alone which was super awkward when I sat across from them. Like literally two mins later the girl was pushing me out saying she had more people coming to join so I was forced to sit at a table. Im used to booths or at least like a lounge type setting. I felt like I was sitting waiting for a date that was never going to show. The hookah flavors were bomb hands down. Still a cool place I would recommend!
Pineapple and Mila Kunis can’t go wrong! Ron is awesome he definitely makes you feel like you are home. The music has you bobbing your head while relaxing with all the other patrons. So many different choices with different strengths. The milkshakes are off the chain!
Ive been coming here for 4 years and Ive always enjoyed the atmosphere and the flavors. Especially their house blends. Dominic and Chrissy are the greatest. They always make my visits pretty awesome.
Hookah was good but over priced. I would have given them 4 stars but what made me take away two stars was the fact that they kicked me out because they have time limits (90 mins). They had plenty of empty seats as it was Sunday night at 10:30, but my time was up. I rather drive an hour to Schaumburg for hookah next time. Would not recommend nor would I come back here.
Saba was the best server here so pleasant to be around!
Jose was awesome! Super informative about the products and gave awesome suggestions. He even took the time to show us how to do Os with our mouth! Ha! Best server Ive had at a hookah spot in a long time. The flavors tasted amazing. They do require you to keep buying hookahs or youll lose your table. Prices werent that bad..especially for being in the city. They came by and changed the coals without being asked. Basic stuff, but youd be surprised how many places struggle with this.
Great, cozy hookah joint with the best blends in town! Excellent service, many charcoal refills, friendly staff and cool atmosphere. It is byob. If gets really crowded on weekends due to being in Lakeview and being a smaller space, so try it out on a week day.
Place is really cool. Went there with a couple buddies. The flavors were excellent, the customer service was very friendly and accommodating. I like that its BYOB and open late.
Will never understand the appeal. I want to smoke hookah to relax with my friends. No relaxing here though, since you’ll have set a timer/alarm. They kick you out after 70 minutes unless you buy more stuff. They pretend they sell weed, pens, and “infused shisha”, but it’s actually delta 8 which is essentially hemp and won’t get you high.
Expensive - spent 50 dollars for 3 people here. Its about 20 bucks a hookah, and they charge a cover per person that isnt smoking, limited to two people per hookah. Water is unreasonably expensive. You dont get seating options, so you might end up sitting on a floor on nasty old pillows. Service is slow and they yell at you when you move the coals.Unfortunately Ill be going back since its the only one around
Daniel is an amazing waiter! Highly recommend checking this place out of ya need to relax! Its BYOB so you dont have to break your bank to get drunk!
I love that House of Hookah is BYOB but their corkage fee has gone up to $5 per person. They also require you to purchase 1 hookah for every 2 people and only give you an hour to use it. It used to be a really cool hole in the wall place my friends and I liked to go to but the prices are a bit ridiculous now.
Great atmosphere, hookahs 10/10. Will definitely coming back
The greatest Hookah bar in Chicago, and maybe even the world! I come here all the time and all of the staff is very accommodating and friendly. I wish I could give enough stars to bring the average star rating to 5 stars. For the quality of their hookahs, the pricing is perfect. Ive been to other hookah bars and their hookahs were terrible in comparison. I suggest a house blend or alchemist brand.
They have Groupon so go buy there before going. You can save some money. I love the vibe and flavors of hookah here. It gets really busy at all hours so plan accordingly. If you have a smaller party of two, they will seat you next to strangers. It’s not a big deal if you like to network but it’s difficult to have private conversations. You get around 45 min to smoke unless you buy more. Andre gave us the sex on the peach flavor and it was one of the best! For more things to do, follow me on IG: sincerelytiara
1 Star for the location and 1 Star for the fast service, that’s all it it can get. The place is very small and they’re trying to fit as many as possible, which makes sense from a business standpoint, but that also means one wrong move you can drop a hooka and Cole on few people around you, it’s very tight. We had a lemon mint hooka and Double apple. The double Apple was average however the lemon mint was really bad, it had some mint taste, associated with some weird “old tobacco” taste, maybe different batch is better but who knows.I also posted a pic of our check, not because it was wrong but it’s because they refused to check again on the math, I tried every way possible to get to that number but I couldn’t, no tip was included in this bill but we tipped anyways, pay the servers what they deserve but owner not getting our business again
Love this place but unfortunately its too small, the wait time varies depending on the day and time. I havent visit there for more than 1 year, Idk if still open with all thats going on right now with Covid19.
I had a birthday get together here my guest arrived a little late in order to keep my seating for me and my guest i had to buy 2 hookah in order to stay seated or i had to move. I was given incorrect information on the phone re:priceing i had to come out of my pocket for my guest there was someone smoking pot there as well and my table of guest were asked twice if it was us assumption were made we did 4 rounds of hookah 4 hookah each time and bought over priced stuff from the display case and was treated very nasty i will also be posting this to my social network for any one else who will go and get mistreated. Thanks for nothing table 4
We waited over an hour for a table. They tried to scam us into purchasing two hookahs, when we needed only one. Said they’d calll us when one became available but never did.
Best hookah spot in Chicago HANDS DOWN! The staff is amazing and very friendly and attentive. The quality of the hookah is amazing and everything smokes very well! They also have BYOB which is a huge plus!
Visit from FL bene here a couple times this week and treated so good. Vibe is amazing, music is great, service is top notch . Deff coming back before leaving to FL. ❤️
I never leave reviews but this was the best hookah lounge I’ve ever been to. Very chill vibe, nice staff, & the flavors to choose from is amazing. I’ll definitely be returning.
Great service saba was really pleasant to be around great place to smoke hookah!!!
I love this place. Need to offer 2 hours instead of 70 minutes. The time goes by too fast. By the time you sit down and get situated 30 minutes has already passed.
Yesterday was the first time I tried this hookah bar and was very impressed. The aura was nice, coffee was yummy, and hookah was excellent. The server was very friendly and they have cool features like BYOB and free wifi. I also like that they are a smoke shop and sell lots of pipes too. Ill be back soon!
Brittney she had excepted customer service and she helped me when I was in a unshaded condition when my phone was dead
Ridiculous fees and mediocre service
Ive been going to this place for almost 5 years and even if i wasnt a regular I must honestly say its the best hookah lounge in Chicago. The staff is friendly and fun to talk to and the environment is really chill. Almost any type of flavor you can think of and they are also the only place I know of that sells tangiers. If youre going to buy for smoking at home the selection is great and they even sell HJ bowls and tangiers bowls as well as heat management devices like the apple on top. Like I said this is the best lounge in Chicago and the only one i would ever recommend
I love house of hookah!!!! Always a vibe!
Terrible experience...watched me and may party stand at door for at least five mins then came and greeted me with a very nasty attitude..told me and my and my party that it was are fault we didn’t get there in time ...And walked off and told the other staff at bar don’t worry about it as we were explaining the situation to the bar staff .. will not be returning were very dismissive of customers that wanted to spend there money with them during COVID 19 so many businesses out here struggling during this time and they have the nerve to be dismissive of there customers...will not be returning
Wonderful, clean, relaxing environment. Great place to hangout with friends, go on a date, etc.Lots of flavors to choose from, great deals, & great customer service. I recommend this place to all my friends and family. Deff the best in the Chi.
This was my first time here couple of days ago. The atmosphere was chill. The hookahs are pricey but you are paying for quality and tobacco with flavors. Guys are knowledgable and very helpful. Its worth it . Check it out .
This place was small and very dark. Its BYOB, but they didnt have ice buckets. They offer a vairiety of flavors and nice prices. They also have checking offer on +foursquare. Overall it was ok..kinda wish they were playing music though.
Nice selection of flavors and quick setup of the hookahs themselves. The only downside is the space. It is a little cramped in the middle of the room but on the edges you basically chill on a floor/pillow type seat setup which was different.
The 1st thing I got asked what ethnicity I was!!!!! And I never got called back for my my table worst place ever I felt like I was 1865
This is a regular spot for me and I enjoy it but I went today and they now have a cover charge to get in. To charge a fee to come inside and pay more money is ridiculous, lets just say I wont be visiting you guys unless its too purchase shisha.
Talk about customer service! Each one of those associates who work there are well knowledgeable of the product they sell. These folks not only have hookah cafe but you can also buy hookah’s and these folks make their own hookah flavors. I will definitely be returning here for all my hookah needs. Thanks y’all
This is the most terrible hookah bar Ive ever tried. The place was very small and the customers were seated densely within inches. The manager used bad and offensive language to talk to customers. If you want to waste your Friday and Saturday night and money, then go there!
The staff was cool. Covid measures were in placeBetter music would have taken the experience up a notch.
Came when they was closing owner was cool still let us sit down since we came after hours and had the BEST experience . I’d give it ten stars
Very impressed probably one of the must humble places I ever been to !! Alot of love and respect ❤❤🤘 I will always come back when I visit Chicago 💯💯
