Had a wonderful and relaxing experience at Essence Medspa. Staff was very friendly and inviting. Latoya was my masseuse and she did a great job at getting the knots out of my back during my deep tissue massage. I would highly recommend you get a massage from Latoya.The ambiance of the facility is very relaxing and aesthetically pleasing to the eye. I will be returning 🤗.

When I booked an appointment for 4 I believe her name at the front desk was Jas, she was lovely to work with. Scheduled massages, and after got to hang in the Oasis room, which is breathtaking and sipped on Champagne and 🍓. The spa itself is gorgeous inside. When you walk through the spa doors, its so beautiful and therapeutic. They also have showers in case you need them, along with a sauna.

I came here for me and my twin sister’s birthday and we had an amazing time! The staff were very nice and accommodating. I am a nursing mother and stayed at the spa all day so they were nice enough to store my pumped breastmilk in their fridge. Very happy with their ability to go above and beyond. We missed the fact that the lounge was co-ed, but that is ok. Just a heads up. We paid for the additional wine/cheese board and we were able to swap out what we did not like. We also booked swedish massages and they were immaculate. I fell asleep on the table lol. I definitely recommend.

Update* (4 🌟s) Did a Recent March Visit:2nd time around for Deep Tissue and scalp massage added was a very good experience and I felt great especially after that nap by the fireplace and a lil sauna session. Im definitely coming back😊Feb/2024: (3 🌟s) The Ambiance is Amazing and front desk was very sweet and helpful but took 2 stars off my 1st experience because I booked for deep tissue but felt like swedish instead. No real pressure applied even after requesting it several times. Although I wasnt satisfied I booked another appt to give someone else a try. I believe in 2nd chances😊 I have a spa place I love that I have been loyal to for many years but this one is closer and the reviews were 90% Positive.. (So I hope this next one is worth it).Wish me Luck 🤞

I’ve come here twice now for facials and both times were great! The estheticians were both so lovey very communicative and we came up with a facial plan together to make sure my sensitive skin wouldn’t be irritated. Will definitely be coming back for a third time :)

First time coming to Essence Medspa & I’m obsessed!! I decided to get a custom facial by Lisa Murphy and it was amazing! She knew exactly what my skin needed & the results were amazing! I have somewhat sensitive skin so I was expecting to get a reaction from the products she used, but I didn’t & I was shocked. I already booked my next appointment with her & can’t wait.

First timer here, and I loved it. Very clean and well maintained. I got Latoya for a Swedish massage and she did a wonderful job. Will definitely be coming back!

What a wonderful experience. I had a custom facial that was invigorating and relaxing at the same time! Jasmine was wonderful! And this place is in the neighborhood (Edgebrook) which makes it even better! Support Local!

Absolutely relaxing, I got a personal facial from Lisa she was wonderful and professional, the facial massage was so soothing I almost fell asleep 😴 10/10 would recommend and would go back she was phenomenal!! The environment at the spa was also very relaxing, everyone was very friendly and accommodating!

My hydrofacial experience with Georgeta was absolutely exceptional! She was so kind, knowledgeable and attentive. I felt so taken care of and truly pampered. I appreciate this spa for being so accommodating, compassionate and understanding. I hope to return again soon!

One of the best experiences I have had! The best Medspa to ever visit! Getta gave me a great facial my skin was clearer and more nourished after and I used allthe great amenities like the sauna and the oasis lounge! Would definitely recommend!

I want to start by saying the space and atmosphere is beautiful! The women who greeted me at the front desk and gave me a tour was so sweet! I really wanted to love this place. It’s beautiful, relaxing and close to home. However, I can not say I left happy after my massage. I booked a 50 minute prenatal massage and I feel like I got gently rubbed. I’m a working mom who’s expecting and I booked this massage to get rid of aches and pains. I sit at a desk all day so my neck and shoulders really needed it. I’ve never received a massage like this. There was truly 0 pressure applied and she missed things like glutes which hold a lot of tension in the back. She did not massage my feet (she put hot towels on them). I was never asked through the service if the pressure was ok either. Which is a little unusual I feel like massage therapists always ask to gauge the client. The therapists phone rang several times throughout the service so I’m not sure if she was having an off day.All in all 10/10 for atmosphere but I can not justify spending $140 for a massage that I got no relief from so I can only give 3 stars.Update:I returned to the spa and received a massage with Latoya and it was life changing! she is amazing at what she does and really turned around my experience from the first time. I was experiencing very bad sciatic pain and once I told her that she knew exactly what to do. I will definitely be returning to see her soon!

I’ve come to Essence a few times and it’s a joy every single time! All of the massage therapists are magicians and get all of the knots of our my back. The vibe is so tranquil and I love the free coconut water! Only bummer is the steam room doesn’t work but overall 10/10! Would highly recommend

Our reflexology was rushed. The masseuse was sweet, but talked the entire time. It was not a very relaxing experience. The champagne and charcuterie board were not fresh. Unfortunately, it was not worth the time or money.

Came here for a Mother’s Day spa afternoon; the massages themselves were very surface level and mild, however I entered this spa with no pain or swelling anywhere and after my massage I left with really bad back pain, I don’t know why. The wine was stale and tasted old, like if you left a bottle on the counter, and it was also room temperature. We got a charcuterie board, which was okay but the fruit was mushy. The sauna was okay, but even after we tried cranking up the temperature it still wasn’t hot enough to make us sweat, it just felt like the heat was on, didn’t feel like a real sauna experience.Update: we woke up the next day with bruises from the massages.

It was my first time experience at Essence and oh boy, such a nice one. Different from anywhere else: super calm, clean, relaxing, nice retreat room, really hot spa, clean and spacious showers and locker rooms, nice teas, waters,.Their robes are the softest. They have everything, you need to bring yourself and credit card. I had my personalized facial with Georgeta and it was my best facial in 30 years. My face looked at least 5 years younger. I am going back once a month and recommend this place to my friends. Also I will buy gift certificates for my friends to enjoy this beautiful place.Thanks Essence team for your service. The massage was fantastic (with Ecaterina). The locker space is a little cramped but the lounge is nice. I like that the spa section is darker than some Ive been to, the ambience is lovely.

I came for my birthday today & alone 💘 the women at the front desk were almost too kind. They were super polite & helpful. They gave me a tour, and checked in and asked if I needed anything. They’re so sweet they deserve a raise! They gave me a sweet treat for my birthday. Thank you ladies 🤍

My experience was peaceful from beginning to end. I enjoyed the 360 shower, sauna, and zen lounge area. My massage was exactly what I needed to start the year. I felt welcome and cared for throughout my visit.

Great place! Georgeta did a great job on my facial and was also informative! I left the place my face feeling soft and moisturized! Renee (sorry i spelled it wrong) was also great! I was a little bit late due to being stuck behind the train and going on a no left turn street but the quick tour was still very helpful on seeing the vibe of the place! She was also, very helpful when i had questions regarding treatments! Will be coming back in a couple weeks!

My boyfriend and I came on our anniversary and i can only say 10/10 would recommend! The cleanliness, customer service etc was excellent even our masseuses! We will definitely be back for a relaxing time!

A true gem in Edgebrook. My teen got an awesome teen facial and I’ve had some fantastic massages and facials. It’s a great place for a mini escape. Latoya (massage) is fantastic, Julianna (reflexology) is excellent and so relaxing you might fall asleep. Georgeta (facial) is a whiz with facials and brows. Highly recommend.

I came with my boyfriend for a treatment and I thought it was going to be a peaceful experience, but it was just too much commentary (literally throughout the facial saying my pores are clogged multiple times) like I get it, but maybe saying what is going on with my skin till after then recommend me something to use on my face which places I’ve been to before do . It didn’t feel so relaxing anymore after I started feeling uncomfortable with the comments . The place is nice, but definitely will not be coming back.

This place offers a nestled getaway retreat with many services as well as comforting amenities. When using the amenities, I appreciate the sauna (especially during the colder seasons) and the relaxing area. Free parking lot is a bonus.

My friend treated me to a massage here and it was amazing! Reyna was great and the whole experience at the place was really fun. Definitely looking forward to coming back again and trying the other services.

Living far away, I wanted to make sure my sister had the best facial experience to start her 50th birthday weekend celebration. From the moment I called in, Renee was extremely helpful in helping me plan the perfect day for the birthday girl. The amenties were at her disposal up to an hour before her service if she wanted. I dropped her off and picked up one happy birthday girl. She said Lisa gave her the most hydrating facial and listened to everything she wanted. She ended up with the Essence Signature Facial. She said the relaxation room was a MUST to enjoy longer next time. I think she finally found her new post-Covid spa. Thank you Renee and Lisa for everything and an amazing experience for my sister.

Ive gotten two facials here from Lisa and omg what a hidden gem this place is. Im highly impressed with the actual facility; everything is super clean and every detail is well thought out and high quality. The front staff is super friendly also!My friends and family notice a difference in my skin when I get facials and I dont have any post facial break outs. Lisa is super knowledgeable and her product recommendations have changed my skin! You will leave this place feeling super super refreshed and happy!I recommend coming in early so you can relax in the beach room

I’ve now been into Essence 3 (maybe 4) times… it’s a fantastic, hidden spot.I’ve had Latoya each time for a massage and add-on services - all fantastic. Her previous PT background really makes her massages wonderful and therapeutic. And she is so nice.I had my first facial today with Lisa. She was amazing! She explained everything she was doing, and was so friendly and knowledgeable. Will definitely book with her again.I want to give KUDOS to Amal at the front desk. She is so helpful and sweet! The other girls are all really nice too.Also - the whole vibe is great. I love the dry eat sauna, the showers and the beach lounge. So relaxing. And the complimentary drinks are a great touch.So glad I found you guys!

She explained every step she took and why she did it. Also, she gave great advice on how to keep my skin clean. Overall, the atmosphere was amazing and relaxing. I cant wait to come back!

After a stressful week, I treated myself to essence facelift facial. And my skin loved it! It felt rejuvenated and now has a glow. Well worth it and i will definitely come back.

I went here for a facial and a wax with Geta and Kara! Great service and I really enjoyed it, I also got image products from there after. I really like them i would recommend them for acne. and the wax service left my skin smooth after, Geta is very good! Will be going here again

I have to make some time for this review. I have been to many places to get massages but nothing like this one for SURE!! My good friend Maria coffee shop owner next door (you have to try her coffee menu) invited me for a mini getaway and I had the most amazing time! This was a whole different experience we were greeted very nicely since we walked in and were shown around the locker rooms to get ready for our massage. Hosting a sauna steam room within the locker rooms. We were taken to a zen area where there was some corner resting sofas and some relaxing music before our massage therapist took us to our room. The massage was unforgettable 💯 but the overall experience is so memorable. It’s worth every penny if you want a relaxed massage and a getaway zone without anyone rushing you out.

This place is a hidden gem. From the moment I walked in, the aroma was enough to make me stay. The staff was amazing, friendly and very cool about everything in general. I got the bamboo room and did the couples massage. Massage was everything, and the room and vibe was amazing. They have a steam and dry sauna which are an amazing added detail. They give you robes, shower shoes, and provide amazing soaps if you want to shower before or after. The oasis main area is super cool and they even served us mimosas. I cant say enough good things. Definitely an amazing experience.

I recently attended a Music Award event in the Essence Medspa & Wellness Center. I received a tour around the whole spa with my wife and we had Elena by ourside explaining each room function.The service, knowledge and profesionalism of the ladies was remarkable and to the highest quality deserved. It was an amazing experience and I cannot wait to return.

Essence Medspa is one of the most relaxing and well run facility I have ever utilized. All of their massage therapists are tremendously talented offering some of the most theraputic and helpful massage sessions in the Chicago area. Everything from the locker room to the excellent steam and showers are top notch. Always plenty of towels and refreshing cold water are available and their pricing is very reasonable for all of their professional services. I highly recommend this facility.

We did a day spa pass to enjoy the amenities. The steam room was closed due to COVID-19. So the amenities available for the day pass were a dry sauna, showers and the relaxation room. They had teas and other drinks too. There seems to have been a water feature at some point in time in the relaxation room but its filled with pebbles and made to look as a beach now. There are cool sofas and 0illows and private books to sit in, but im.not sure what the sanitation situation is like. There was no one cleaning the seats between uses and the surfaces are cloth. Youre sitting there in a bathrobe and presumably youve showered, but did the last person? And so on? There were lights flashing and changing colors in the relaxation room. It was like a dizzying disco and I got a migraine. There were blue crystals throwing light patterns onto the wall and the light was a piercing laser style and hurt my eyes, intensifying the migraine. If you are not light sensitive and looking for a cool place to tweak out on shrooms or acid, this is the place. If you are prone to migraines, dizziness or nausea due to flashing laser lights, I do NOT recommend. My friend found it intensely relaxing 🍄🌈🧘⁉️ I hung out in the locker room.

Really liked the experience overall. Beautiful, clean and very relaxing - the only downside was that the robes and towels are not big enough for larger people. I had to hold the robe closed while walking around.

Wow What an amazing first time experience!!! The soonest we arrive we felt welcoming by Amel. She was very professional and had someone give us a tour right away since it was my first time.. If you want to have “the whole spa experience “arrive at least 30 minutes early that gives you enough time to enjoy the sauna have a glass of wine etc… Definitely coming back very soon.

I love this place. Been coming here once a month for some self care and it never disappoints. Everyone is always so nice and attentive. It’s never over crowded which is really nice because it really lets you enjoy the place and experience.

This place has amazing potential but the workers ruin it. They are so unprofessional and unorganized. The doctor messed up on my moms face and said they wouldn’t charge her for it. Yet for some reason every time we come in the hassle me for the payments when the doctor keeps saying we don’t have to pay. Also, the laser hair removal is overpriced! Go on Groupon and find better professionals who offer MORE and you pay less!

Everything about Essence Medspa and Wellness center is best described by ZEN. They have a locker room where you can change into a robe and flips provided by them before your services and then after you can relax in their beautiful meditation room or sauna.

Definitely a MUST! They have a beautiful, relaxing & luxurious atmosphere. Their staff was so nice and helpful. I will definitely recommend this Spa to my family and friends

Julianna is the best massage therapist... she can scale up and down the pressure to meet your needs. This spa is 45 min away from me but it’s worth it because she is the best!!
