Similar to alot of other reviews that I wish I had read earlier. Massage was good, but the girl at receptions attitude is shocking. The first question I got when I came through the door was how are you going to tip today, when I said card she made a big deal and said it had to be cash or zelle, Ended up being charged an extra percentage to use my debit card to tip I had paid through class pass and tried to tip 20% she argued that their prices were different even tho I prepaid. Said her boss sets the prices on class pass and its nothing to do with her even tho she works at the front desk. Terrible service

Amazing massage. Went for date night with my boyfriend and we were given a private room and the most amazing massage ever. Had used Groupon but not followed the appointment making process properly but they were so accommodating and accepted the Groupon. The essential oils smelt amazing and the hot stones felt soothing. Those were the most relaxing 90 minutes I’ve had in a long while. Was sad when it was all over cause those ladies did an awesome massage. Will definitely be back!

Went here for the first time and it will be my last. Massage was good just a little too much pressure kinda sore now. The reception lady basically forces you to tip and got mad when the tip wasn’t what they recommended. Like dude I already paid $100 plus for the service so if someone doesn’t tip why get aggressive?… had potential to be my massage place but they ruined it.

It was definitely a good experience! The decoration and setting are very comfortable. All the people in the shop are very polite and professional, and the girl at the front desk is enthusiastic and patient. Massage was amazing！The technique is very professional, let my body relax a lot, feel all the fatigue disappeared! I highly recommend everyone to try it!

I absolutely loved this place. I booked a Valentines Day couples massage with a Groupon (for full deep-tissue massage, foot massage, and foot soak/scrub). Their staff was very attentive, asked about our goals/where we were having any pain, took us in for our massage right away, and tailored the experience perfectly. Amazing value and customer service—I would highly recommend this to anyone in the Chicago area!

Awful customer service. I purchased a 90 minute couples massage, when we got there the receptionist was rushing us in and asked if we wanted the stress massage, I asked if theres a difference from the 90 minute, she said hot stones but it wasnt an extra charge so I said ok. The massage was good but they only gave a 70 minute massage. I said this to the receptionist who started to argue with me, telling me I was wrong even though my partner heard her say the same about no difference, the receptionist started to yell at us about leaving a tip, which we had done seconds beforehand, but then eventually said she would add 20 minutes to the next massage. Not even 2 minutes after leaving, I turned my phone off of silent, I had 2 missed calls from the receptionist and she called a third time that I picked up, she continued to yell at me that I did not listen to her. Whats the point of calling to yell at me? Please change your customer service approach, it was awful

Like others have mentioned before. At the end of your service they pressure you to increase your tip. The man at front desk said “that’s all?” To my $20 tip. My service costed $80 and apparently a $20 tip wasn’t good enough. It was so uncomfortable and shocking. Will not be coming back.

Was only expecting a basic massage, but it was one of my better sessions. Once those hot stones came, it was over. Will come back if Im in town again.

Private room … couple 90 min massage I’m still speechless this was not even amazing it was phenomenal!!! We had Peter and Kathy they were both incredible. The place is brand new super clean and the ambiance was very zen & relaxing. We will definitely be back sooner than later so glad we found this new hidden gem!

I showed up without an appointment, and to my surprise, I only had to wait for about 10 minutes. Michael worked his magic and gave me an incredible massage that left me feeling like a brand new person. Alecia, the owner, was incredibly friendly and made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Whats even better? It was an excellent deal, so its a fantastic experience all the way!

Saw this place on Groupon and called to see if we could get same-day appointments. The receptionist informed me that they had a first-time customer special directly on their site, which would allow me to choose a more customized massage. I ended up doing that and saved more money than I would have with Groupon. The Ginger Sun package was the perfect variation of head/neck, feet, and back, and included hot stones. I wish I lived closer and could treat myself more often! George and Perry were wonderful.

I like that this place offers some nice packages that take care of you from head to toe. My therapist, Charlie, is very friendly and follows my instructions thoroughly, I appreciate her! The only downside is that the tables are divided by curtains, and so you will be able to hear people talking and walking all the time.

The staff is very kind and accommodating, and I came in in a rush. They offer strong massage and I recommend their hot stone on the feet. I have yet to try their other offerings. But they have several interesting massages to choose from. Seems also like a nice environment for couples massage too.

Ive been here a few times and the first time was pleasant but the most recent time I was hounded for a tip even though I had planned on tipping they signed heavily that I didnt have a cash tip and then proceeded to tell me that I needed to tip . Then asked me how much was I going to tip then showed me a Venmo sign. To tip through which would mean I didnt have to tell them what I was tipping. They told me it wasnt enough of a tip, I never been made so uncomfortable about a tip as if I didnt pay for the services I received . So unprofessional and no I didnt leave a tip at that point

I’m in NYC and purchased a gift certificate for my daughter and her boyfriend (in Chicago) for their birthdays back in May. They said it was the BEST massages they had ever gotten. During a visit to my daughter’s last week, she insisted on us going for me to enjoy the experience. I have to tell you…they were 💯 percent right!! The facility is amazing! Clean, serene and relaxing.and the massage was off the hook! I felt like “butter” when I was done, so relaxed and truly at peace (physically and mentally). Alisa (the owner) was absolutely wonderful and it was great to meet her in person after out conversation last May. I highly recommend and definitely will be going again whenever I’m out in Chicago! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Great ambiance, nice front desk receptionist but I am so sore 24 hours after my massage. They applied just a little too much pressure after I spoke on it to them during the massage. They also pressure you to tip even though I planned on doing that regardless of course . 👎🏾

Love the stress relief massage! The room and all the settings are cozy. Definitely felt my tension muscles got relaxed. The staffs were friendly as well. Highly recommend to make an appointment in advance.

The WORST massage I’ve ever had in life! They make you pay before you get your massage. Me and my boyfriend arrived and were put into a room without any directions. Two ladies came in and had us lie down but didn’t speak any English. After a few mins they both walked out and then the receptionist came in and told us that other customers wanted female masseuse and they were going to give us two male masseuse. So we said okay. Both of the male masseuse were super rough and breathed really hard & loud the entire time. It was not relaxing at all, I was tense the whole time. At one point I told the guy I’m done, I don’t want anymore massaging. I just wanted to get out of there. They expect you to leave them a tip and will wait at the front desk until you leave a tip.

$79 + tip for a good 70 min massage. Nice people and nice place. Not quite deep tissue but very relaxing and would come back

Amazing place. Not only are the prices uncomparable to other places but they are super accommodating. We were able to get an appointment 30 mins before calling.

This is the best massage I’ve ever had. I will be back soon. If you would like to add essential oil and hot stones which I highly recommend these, they will let you choose your own scent at the from desk. Therapist would ask you how much pressure you like before they start. You also can adjust it during the massage. I had Kathy and she is awesome! Remember to leave a good tip if you enjoy your section. Their recommendations are 12 and up so I tipped 25. Make sure you have an appointment at the weekends. THEY ARE SUPER BUSY!

My husband and I have been going to different spa businesses for the last 6 years. This has been by far the best pampering I have ever received. The customer service was excellent and Tony, my masseuse was Phenomenal. My husband said that he felt like a rag doll after his masseuse finished with him 🤣. I would highly recommend this business. The price is reasonable, very clean and warm welcoming. Before we left we each received a bottle of water, this was a plus. Highly satisfied 👍

Not the most relaxing massage, but they do work the mussels and and help heal tender points, in your body. It felt like the massage therapist was just going through the motions to complete the massage but in his defense, I did feel better after the massage. I would recommend pure serenity spa on Armitage if you want to relax, this is a tad intense and felt more like a beating...

I really cant understand why this store has such good reviews! As many other comments have mentioned, receptionists are rude and irresponsible and have no idea what their duties are! I called on Saturday, June 23, to inquire about cupping. The operator was a polite and patient girl (who spoke Mandarin). She said that their masseuse could provide cupping service and explained some of the preparations before cupping in detail. I was happy to make an appointment for cupping service on Monday, June 26. On Sunday (6/25), I had my period. I knew that girls during pregnancy or menstruation were not allowed to do cupping therapy, so I called them to reschedule and I also wanted to know whether I could do cupping immediately after my period or wait a few more days to do it. So I called them again, the operator was a boy (who spoke Mandarin), he said he didnt know, he could ask the masseur for me and then call me back, but I didnt get his his call on Sunday. I was completely not angry at that time, I understood that everyone was busy and might have temporarily forgotten my business, so I called them again on Monday (6/26), The operator is a girl (does not speak Mandarin). Our conversation is as followsMe: I called yesterday about when I can reschedule for the next cupping session, whether I should make an appointment immediately after the end of my period or wait for a few more daysShe: Whats your phone numberMe: xxx-xxx-xxxxShe: Your appointment today is at 1:00 PMMe: “I called yesterday, I had my period, so I might not be able to do cupping ; I just want to ask should I reschedule the appointment immediately after the end of menstruation or wait a few more days? She: If you want to reschedule, just let me know when you want to come”Me: May I ask you to help me ask your massage therapist, if she recommends doing it immediately after the end of menstruation or wait a few days to do it. I know that cupping during menstruation is not good for the body, I am not a professional, I would like to ask you to help me ask your massage therapist, please give me their a professional advice, I will reschedule according to their advice”She: “ it’s up to you”What do you mean by “its up to me”? Its like when someone breaks a bone and asks the doctor when I can get back on my feet, and the doctor says its up to you????? Hey Miss, I mean as a front desk: your job is not only pick up phone or make schedule, but also provide customer service, I understand you are not familiar with the cupping, but is that hard for you take 1 minute to ask your therapist? Or you just don’t understand English comes out of my mouth. So I feel like, ok, maybe I was not explaining clearly, and she did not get me. I can call later if there is someone who can speak mandarin.So I called again on Tuesday (6/27), and the person who answered the phone was a girl (who spoke Mandarin). I told her everything that had happened, and she did not apologize from beginning to end, she said th：“our massage was not clear because they are not doctors. My God, as a masseuse who can cupping, if it is not clear whether cupping can be performed during menstruation and pregnancy, I had serious doubts about their expertise and I had serious doubts that they werent licensed in the cupping field, so I said, Well, does your masseuse have a cupping license? and guess what this girl said, she said, Im not the boss. How do I know?Very rude and not professional at all, I mean if the business owner can see this review, please train your front desk. And also, you should know, doing cupping without license is illegal by law. Good luck.

Best massage my wife and i have ever had, hands down----then if you consider the fact that it was 90 minutes for about $130 (via groupon) total for both of us, i suspect nothing will ever come close. we will travel back to Chicago specifically for this, no joke. These people are real pros. Cannot wait to come back.

My daughter purchased me a massage for Mothers Day. The place was nice, clean, with relaxing soft music playing. I like that they ask what type of massage youd like, Ive been to places where they were so rough I didnt enjoy it. My Masseuse, Amy, I hope thats correct was very nice. Nice establishment. massage was a 8.5 out of ten. I’m deducting because I did the couples massage and the room only has a curtain for privacy. They need to install a door. It was a little noisy from the employees and the guest. Also their flip flops are kinda small. Please provide bigger flip flops. Overall I give them a 👍🏿. I will recommend to others.

I’ve been getting massage for 25+ years and this was one of the BEST of my life! Front desk was extremely nice and helpful. Kathy was super thorough and her hands were magic! I went to Wellness Foot Spa with my partner for a couples massage. Ive been to other similar spas, but this one is the best. Its brand new and super clean. The space is peaceful and very relaxing. I love that theres no banter between the massage therapists, which can be distracting in open-air massage rooms. Theres a separate room for couples massages with the beds facing, not next to, each other with storage areas for jackets and belongings. The massage was wonderful: lots of different techniques on all body areas. It also included hot stones, which you can accept or decline (hot stones are too hot for me but not for my partner). The staff was so lovely and friendly! They go the extra mile to make you feel like a guest. I cant wait to return!

My friend and I get massages semi-regularly. Out of the other places weve been to, this was the best place. The staff was very friendly and the place is gorgeous! My experience at Wellness Foot Spa was disappointing due to the unprofessional behavior of the front desk staff. Despite having a confirmed reservation at 3:00pm on a Saturday, the staff member called me at 12pm to request a change to 3:30pm, to which I agreed. However, he called again at 2pm asking if I could come in earlier at 2:30pm, I agreed again. Soon after, he called a third time to clarify a mistake he made in calling the wrong number, which caused unnecessary confusion and inconvenience.Upon arrival, the front desk staff member appeared sleepy and lethargic and did not offer any apologies for the repeated phone calls and confusion regarding the appointment time. Overall, my experience was marred by unprofessionalism and poor communication on the part of the front desk staff.

This was hands down the most unpleasant massage I have ever received. I requested lighter pressure four times during my service; the masseuse would say “ok,” change the pressure for a short time then go back to using extreme pressure.

Called and was told there was availability for two at 8:30. Was dropped off only to find there was only availability for one. Then proceed to have a lengthy conversation in another language and finally tell us that we are at fault for not being specific (do you have availability for 2? Seems specific) and they are closing soon. Always a great idea to contradict your customer and keep them waiting while you argue about what was said. A simple “sorry for the misunderstanding” would have changed everything. Good luck with that.

Wherever I go, I make a point of finding the Chinese massage spots. Ive been to many all over the country and I can say, Wellness Foot Spa ranks high. Its clean, friendly, well-run. The particular masseuse I had, Kathy, located my injuries without my direction and knew related muscle groups to work out. She attenuated my massage for what I needed rather than giving a generic massage.

They hurt me! Also, their receptionist told me they would only give me $10 less and just a little red. When she hammer my calf with the tool, it felt like a needle went into the flesh. Although they gave me a free pass today I will never be back!!!!!

It was a good experience for the first time. It was done by a lady from Hunan. So I went there again a few days ago, and this time it was performed by a white girl. At that time, I felt that the pressure was very average, and it didn’t quite hit the spot. Sometimes the pressure was so hard that it hurt, but I didn’t want to keep shouting that it hurt, so I just endured it🥲When it finally ended, she ended it about seven or eight minutes early, because the person who checked out was the white girl at the front desk, so I didnt have the nerve to tip less or tell the store manager. Unexpectedly, my shoulder is still hurting after several days after I went back🥲🥲🥲. It’s uncomfortable. I won’t go back in the future.To add, I made a reservation in advance and arrived on time, but I still waited an extra half hour on site. I felt that the stores time arrangement was not very professional.
