Drinks are good, service is actually good and pleasant. They keep a good staff of bartenders. The music is always lit but there’s also a ton of space to just sit and chill. Great bar for dancing and photo ops!
Went here to dance during my bachelorette trip. We had so much fun. The bartenders and bouncers were very nice and went above and beyond to make sure we had a good time. We felt very safe and comfortable. Really good vibes.
This is the most unsafe bar in Cincinnati. My friends and I went here on a night out, and a random bar patron was taking photos of us without our permission and being very odd towards us. He would not delete the photos, and was harassing us. I went to the bouncer for help, but he just insisted we should leave and that the man had every right to take photos of us. I’m editing this review per info from other people there with us that we did not get kicked out but instead left due to this very upsetting situation and the lack of assistance or safety given by security. The manager came over and said he would find the guy (I guess you can see what they did below but that’s beside the point of this review). As a woman, I would never recommend going here, especially not alone. The main issue is with their security, and I’d like to hear more about how they are addressing training their bouncers after this incident before I could ever consider recommending this bar to anyone. Safety aside, their music is not good. I love EDM, and their music is just so blah, like imagine the most boring house music. No one ever is really on the dance floor either, so they all know it’s not fun too. Don’t go here, and Alice, do better.
If they named this Alice because of The L Word, then I give it 5 stars for the brand of a gay bar. I feel like this bar has so much potential, but I went on Goth night and it was not the vibe for me! Loved how they had 2 DJ areas for diversity in music. This place was super busy! I enjoyed the pear cider ◡̈
Newer and still great bar in OTR. Its huge, with four different areas: an outdoor patio as you walk in from Main St, (just south of Liberty St), a main bar room straight ahead, a lounge room to the left, and a dance room to the right.Ive been when theres DJ music and had a blast. But also enjoyed the very chill vibe without it. Either way, drinks and staff including security were all good.Theres cool decor all throughout, including wall art, greenery, neon lights, a wall of music speakers, comfy couches and hanging swing chairs. Even ordinary things like ceiling pipes (which also list the drink menu) and the restrooms have flair.
This place has a LOT of potential to become a really hyped up place in cincinnati. a few things i thought were on POINT: the male staff that would hype up the crowd on the dance floor MADE MY NIGHT. he was literally the best. he made sure everyone was having a good time. he kept the place clean and collected empty cups. he danced with people! he was ALWAYS smiling, so friendly. protect him at all costs and maybe give him a raise. he loves his job so much. maybe give him some of those flashy light sticks you see bottle service girls with. (but also i want X10 of that guy. WAY more fun than bottle service girls) the drink menu was FUN. i got the drink that had beets in it. super unique! drink prices seemed fair. my personal opinion on a few things: the front of the bar is great, great atmosphere. the rugs were a little weird tho bc they just got bunched up everywhere. bar is cute. couches are cute. LOVE the lights on the ceiling. LOVE the clock on the back wall. the dance floor area kinda looks unfinished. i know this place recently opened but like maybe a cool epoxy floor design (with some non slip grit!) would be cool. also some lights in the ceiling would be cool (idk i was thinking like some funky color changing orbs or something, nothing bright, just something up there would be cool) the DJ Nest was a great idea. i love how they’re up above everyone, but play on it! want to see them have some fun and run the party. fog cannons, bubble blowers, streamers, light it up there a little more. make the DJ Nest a space accent, but not overly distracting. Also, themed DJ nights was be awesome. 90s night, emo night, halloween party, let’s do this. a few things i hope to see improve: while we were there, at least 10 glasses were dropped on the dance floor. this got really annoying really fast, and dangerous! a lot of people were wearing open toes shoes. as much as i HATE plastic, i’d rather not step on glass / have breaking glass keep hitting my feet. i wish there was more variety in the scenes that replay on the walls in the dance area, though the ones that did play were really cool. the bathroom situation was also at little confusing but i’m glad someone was there to help manage the chaos. the music was 7/10 there were some good beats and the DJ in the beginning of the night was really throwing down things to dance to, though as the night went on, it just ended up being the same popular songs you hear with the typical throw backs. i hope they can get some DJs in here to MIX, DROP, and SPIN for something unique. this place seems really unique and the music should match. OVERALL i do think think was a pretty fun place to go. i hope to see it grow and develop. cincinnati really needs better venues and better club vibes and this could be it. it’s at least headed in the right direction.
Alice OTR is a fantastic spot for any occasion, whether youre planning an event or just hanging out with friends. The atmosphere is relaxed, and the staff are genuinely friendly. Plus, their cocktails are top-notch! When the dance floor kicks into gear, its something special — wall-to-wall projections and great music make it one of the most unique places in town. Definitely worth checking out, especially if you are showing off Cincy to an out-of-towner!
Pretty chill bar I was able to stop into. It’s got an out door area and large bar to have a non crowded space. I loved all the colors and artsy feel of the spot. Plenty of bathrooms too, the only thing I found personally odd was the party lights in them. Like imagine tryna do a number 2 and it feels like your at a nightclub in France; but either way it was cool.
Alice isnt bad but its probably not my first choice for a dance club. I love the decor in this place but the lighting could use some work. The bar and patio area are a little too brightly-lit. In the darker club area, there is also an extremely bright spotlight that is totally blinding and distracts from the dancing. I get that its used for projection and effects but it hits everyone at eye level and its kind of awful.Additionally, it seems like almost every time Ive visited on Saturday, the music is usually recycled 2000 pop radio hits with only a few new artists or unique remixes thrown in. I get that Y2K is super in right now but... Vanessa Carlton, Taylor Swift, Eminem, Lil Jon, etc are not dance club artists. Thats wedding DJ music and frankly makes Cincy feel behind the times. The only EDM beats I heard were also super old and not fun to dance to. Or maybe I just had bad luck with the DJs. Oh well.
Very busy and crowded place. It serves more of the college crowd, so not a place to relax or enjoy intimate time with family and friends. Its a cantina for the college kids, which is still a cool spot for them but for anyone 25+ its just not the type of place to be- at least for me 🤷🏻♀️ otherwise it would of been a fun place I would have went to 5 years ago. Entry is free. They did offer a photo booth which was fun!
I love Alice. I always have and I always will. Such a unique, fun gem in Cincinnati. I love the different areas (some for lounging and chatting, the patio, the dance floor etc.) I love the decor, the drinks and the crowd. That being said, my only complaint is that the music has seemed to be a consistent issue for them. Every once in a while the DJ will hit a good streak and you can tell how responsive the crowd becomes… but then it’ll turn into long stretches of monotonous house music beats and the crowd responds accordingly lol. No disrespect to house music, I get there is a niche for it but if you want people to actually dance and get excited you have to play party pleasers, disco, hip hop, pop etc. I’ve heard this feed back from so many people and I just wanted to make sure it was on the radar.
Great time especially during the summer when uc kids are away. Dance drink and hang with friends. Bathroom line can be long
You gotta visit at least once of youre in Cincinnati. Its only an ok place to dance, usually the music isnt loud enough, but the lights are awesome.Definitely recommend to sit down and hang with good people and good drinks outside the dance floor. The decor is amazing
Incredible atmosphere and decor that youll find yourself admiring when 1:00am hits and you sit back on one of the couches. Has filled the void for a dance scene for folks in their late 20s/30s and find myself going frequently with friends on the weekends. Great rotating DJs and visual effects on the dance floor.Wait for the bathroom is extremely long, so be prepared! They have also occasionally started charging a $5 cover after midnight.
The best club in the city. If youre looking for a place to dance then look no further. The venue is massive and has distinct sections for lounging and dancing. The bar is easy to get to even when crowded and there is a dedicated limited bar on the dance floor. Bathrooms are clean and individual. Earlier in the day it is a more laid back vibe which is great for having a drink with friends.
This is such a great place. Its almost like a hidden gym. It was my first time going. One of my friends took me. The people at the front door were very nice. We wanted to come in and see it cuz we never been there and it was great. I will definitely go back and the DJ was jamming.
Absolutely adore alice :) staff is friendly, drinks are good, music is great. recently went to alice after dark and had so much fun.
Came here after our wedding and we loved it! Big dance floors with lots of people. Staff was great and the drinks were flowing. Lots of areas to sit down and get a little rest before heading back to the floor.
Very cool place. Cant beat the $1 high life happy hour special!
Bar and sitting areas were nice. The dance floor could use some more colors, lights and control the sound a bit more. Definitely would give it another visit.
Love the dancing room, best furniture. Vibe inside and out, multiple bathrooms and a pretty cool stage. Definitely highly recommend!
The main bar room is a good vibe and I’ve got generally very positive things to say about the bar overall but the “club” room is a let down. I took some out of towners here and they were wow’d on initial impressions of walking in but were pretty bummed when we left. There’s a lot of potential with the club room, so I’m writing this really hoping the owners could improve on it.This is specific to the dance room:- the sound isn’t great. Subwoofers are needed in that room. It sounds like a house party, not a club.- The DJ’s music selection last night was BAD, like high school mixer / homecoming bad. They could be far more intentional with different genres and themes if they wanna cater to different crowds (would personally love anything that is remotely up to date with electronic music); but last night’s mix included seven nation army… and then a few early 00s pop rap—it just felt real dated, not specific, all over the place, and hard to dance to. There’s always a way to throw in old hits and throwbacks, but playing a KISS FM radio set list from 2008 ain’t it.- the choice to hire a half naked stage dancer just didn’t fit the vibe of the room. Not against it, but it needs to make sense with the rest of the room. It just felt really sad to have in the room when the vibes were off.- the dancing room is way too bright? It didn’t feel like a club.Anyway, these are all improvable things so I hope it gets better. I wanted to have an awesome dancing night for some out of town friends and Alice was short of delivering that. Most other aspects of the bar are positive: overall decor, drink selection, multiple rooms, the outdoor area were all enjoyable.
Alice, what an underrated bar/dance club. Came here for the first time with some friends after getting tired of spending every weekend in main OTR. Walked just up the road from Goodfellas Pizza and stumbled into Alice. A two-sided bar, with one side containing the main bar, seats, lights, and a more casual vibe, and the other side a large dance floor. Highly recommend coming here, as all the employees and people were great.
Great atmosphere!! Love the outdoor lounge space as well as plenty of indoor lounge areas. Large dance area. Overall great place for a night out.
Awesome lgbtq+ friendly bar & disco!Awesome crowd and bartenders!
If you’re looking for a cool, groovy, inclusive bar, this is the place to go! Pricing on drinks are reasonable & the bar tenders are a great time! Also- if you’re looking to dance & have fun to good music, definitely come here!
Loved this place! shouldve gotten his name, but the taller African-American man that made my tequila sunrises KILLED it. Best tequila sunrise in OTR. Loved the different areas within the bar. Fits whatever vibe youre looking for. Great potential here as I see its new to the area!
This place is what every bar should aspire to be. The place was clean (for a bar), bartenders made great drinks, atmosphere wasnt hectic and people arent pushing and shoving. The place is air conditioned so dont worry about being hot and the bathrooms arent gross and theres 6 of them. Cant wait to go back!
Amazing, comfortable, eclectic new bar in OTR. The staff were amazing. Shout out to JoJo, Mike and Michael as they explained all of their craft cocktails and made recommendations. All of the drinks we had were amazing and quite different than any bar around. I recommend the Ari Up and the Dinner Party. Fun place and look forward to bringing friends next time
This new establishment that made their debut in June is something special. I was impressed by the way the exterior and interior of the building is. Very colorful as well. And they mix it up when it comes to the music . Will return again to this nightclub.
Cool bar, but poor bathroom design. I’m all for the inclusiveness, but reduce the singles and get a mens room. The line just becomes too unbearably long at night. The bouncer told me verbatim “we can’t stop people from doing drugs in there or having sex”A year later, not much change, very fun bar, nice bartenders and staff! But! The bathroom situation has not changed. Still way too long for the men’s, news flash, the quicker you get people through the restrooms, the more they spend on alcohol at the bar. At least make the hand wash sinks outside the individual restrooms.
Bartenders are very friendly and busy. Please be patient with them once they get to you they will give you all the attention you need to get your drink. Very eclectic, inclusive, diverse and best music in the city.
This place is definitely a must for OTR. At 9:00pm on the dot the garage doors open up to the back and the lights change. It turns into a discoteque! The lights and atmosphere have a funk vibe. The drinks are really good. Security is really tight too, so its safe inside and out.
The space is cool but im sure what it wants to be yet. Ultra Lounge or club. A very fun interior design. Music needs work. I notice alot of electronic music being played. Which is great.Unfortunately the songs being played/mixed just miss the mark. Almost there but not quite. Interested to see if this place becomes a place for legit club dancers. If the djs get the mix right, I believe it will. And dancer keep the party moving.
Seems a great cool bar but they really need to improve the sound system, the speakers when the dj is talking sounded like something you would get at a summer fair type thing and the music in the ‘club’ room was too quiet, improve those and you’ve got a great bar
The place is cool. However, the bathroom situation is an absolute nightmare. A line wrapped throughout the building, probably 30 minute wait just to use the restroom. Absolutely ridiculous and poor planning. Your paying customers deserve better.
I been coming here for about 3 months and i love it! great combination bar, chill area and huge dance floor with good Djs oh yeah ill take a work out and drinks bartenders are nice and fast.
Stood at bar for 20 minutes with it it bartenders approaching me just for them to serve others who walked up after me repeatedly
The bar is a dope, futuristic and at the same time nostalgic spot. My only hang up is that the drinks aren’t strong at all. I’ve had to send my drinks back on several occasions because I literally couldn’t taste any alcohol. It’s disappointing to continuously be served weak drinks when I’m trying to get drunk and dance the night away. Other than that… beautiful spot.
Its a vibe, you walk in an youre met with artistry. I highly recommend Aria as your bartender, shes super sweet and made amazing drinks. edit: 10/1/22: Place is still bomb, Jojo resurrected tonight. Im not just alive, Im living.
This place may cause hearing loss because the dancefloor is in an echo chamber. Nice outdoor space. Nice dancefloor.
Its an exciting new dance bar with a funky, trippy-electro-pop feel that brings playful new life to an originally gruff old warehouse. Expect bright neon colors, elevated industrial vibes, and nostalgic touches with provocative surprises.Sadly we dont have quite the dance culture here in Cincinnati yet to match Alices secret Berlinesque discoteque ambitions, so it will take a bit of time to find the right music-crowd fit with a consistent vibe. Its tough to please everyone when edgy discotequers only want authentic House music, and the suburban midwest millenial customers can only bop to 2000s Top 100.Weve experienced some aggressive bouncers that have honestly left a sour impression for some of our first visits to Alice. We understand theres a lot of early jitters to shake out, and Main St. has its dangers that certainly warrant caution, but lets not turn early hype into overzealous control.Overall, Lost Hospitality has given us lots of fun surprises and visual eye candy to explore at Alice, similar to their Somerset bar, but drink offerings & cocktail quality are simply acceptable. You still have to come see it at least once!
Do not stand or sit at the bar for more then 5 to 8min or you will be asked to leave for some odd reason bartenders have more upper hand then the customer. But thats the weirdest bar rule ever cool place but Terrible bartenders and managers I have feeling the owner is the manager and doesnt care about the customers his employees are always right they run the show not him.
Love the patio. It encourages group convo. Great decor. Good bartenders. Up the street from somerset and MOTR. Would def bring out of towners here.
Lovely place with gorgeous interior design. Dancefloor is hugeee and theres tons of outdoor space.
Brynn is so sweet and fun! All the employees were friendly and the drinks were delicious
One of my favorite places. Great DJs and music, friendly staff.
Racist management. White owner made it a point to not let me in with the rest of the bachelor party I was with (everyone else was white by the way) no justification was given. One of the more blatant displays of explicit racism that I’ve experienced.
Amazing vibes. Kerstin has gotta be the top bartender in Cinnci. She demoed a new tea drink and it was incredible!
Terrific new OtR spot on Main Street!I dont remember what its called but try their coffee shot. Its dangerously good. We need to come back so we can dance.
It can be considered as one of the top 6 bars in Cincinnati.
One of our new favorite places to do in for a couple of drinks, low key and laid back environment where conversation is easy to have and your not over heard.
It was my first time going there. Went with sister and cousins for a Halloween party. Nice place and different atmosphere
Loved it. Great vibes, great staff, really awesome atmosphere. Fun drink menu.
Not worth the stop. Bad customer service.
Great new bar in OTR!! Unique, eclectic atmosphere. Exceptional staff. Definitely worth trying.
Great atmosphere. Good dj. Fun vibe. I loved the place
Went on a Friday night, nothing special. Lots of bland 20 something youngsters standing around watching each other drink.
Went here for the warmth event and had such a great time. Definitely want to go back again
Amazing and wonderful place to visit. Great music and dance floor.
Decent vibe at this place. Pretty good cocktails and fast bar service.
Attended a charity benefit & was very impressed GREAT BARTENDERS!
Great, unique drinks
Nice ambiance and good drinks also lots of room
Wanted to like it but on every visit Poor dj quality.
It was quiet when I was here, but know that it gets busy the later the night gets.
ONLY PLACE IN CINCY THAT DOES BATHROOMS THE RIGHT WAY. God bless Alice wherever she b
5 stars, but not enough characters to describe...
This is an awesome place, with spaces for any energy level that you have.
The worst service ever. Inhumanity and disrespectful specially with woman. We need less places like this in this world!!!
Great outdoor seating and dance floor!
Least boring crowd in Cinci (most of the time)
I had fun here :) will come again xx
It was nice and the people were very polite
Please please please play better music, so much potential
One of my new favorite places!
It was okay it was wet/rainy that day.
Cool place
Staff is so friendly
Amazing place and amazing staff
Fun place to dance
Great addition to OTR!!
The best cocktails!
Super chill
Cool place!
John is so amazing. He’s so sweet and knows how to make a good drink! This bar is so fun I recommend to the lgbtq community.
Excellent atmosphere, I hope they continue doing Latin rumbas more continuously 🍾
