However, I couldnt help but notice a discrepancy in the treatment I received compared to other patrons. While seated, I observed that other customers, particularly those who appeared to be of a different racial background, were promptly offered beverages such as water, soda, or wine.Regrettably, I was not offered any beverage during my visit, which left me feeling excluded and uncomfortable. I’m not going back.UPDATE: It’s the next day. My nails came off again once I took a shower.UPDATE: I went in today July 5th Brian who originally did my nails happened to help me however all he did was BE LAZY by applying glue to the nails that were lifting (something I could’ve done at home; which I didn’t because I knew it would just lift again when I wash my hands) instead of clipping the lifted area and reapplying new acrylic. SO YEAH I EXPECT THIS SET OF NAILS TO BE FALLING OFF BY FRIDAY.He then blamed me stating that ‘I need to be careful’ as if I did something wrong when all I’ve done was wash my hands like a normal person. He also tried to blame the fact that it’s because I have a small nail bed which is true but he’s done my nails once before yet I did not have this issue. I’ll just chop it up and say he did a poor job this time and I will not ever let him do my nails again. On top of that he never applied any nail primer before applying the acrylic to my nails in the first place. He’s lazy.July 4th:I go to this nail salon often and they’re always so nice and do a great job. However I recently went to get my nails and feet done on Wednesday June 30th, I spent $100 including the tips, it’s now July 4th and my nails are lifting and falling off. I called the nail salon today July 4th, to see if I can get them fixed considering the amount of money I spent and I was told to come in tomorrow July the 5th but by then all of my nails will probably be broken off. There’s no reason my nails should be coming off in four days. So hopefully when I go in tomorrow they’ll do a better job.

They charged me 85 for a mani pedi. The blue that I had on when I entered the shop is still visible and my feet still feel and look about the same just with a fresh coat of polish on the top. Not worth it.

The salon was not clean. The nail tech did not appear to know what she was doing. She cut up the side of my foot while scrubbing my heels. Another employee’s son was running around, sliding on rolling chairs for the entirety of my visit. Definitely will not be back.

I tried the volcano pedi and my daughter got her usual dip mani with black stilettos.My pedi was ok. I asked what the volcano part was about and they didnt know. Overall the pedicure was fine. Nothing to write home about and not worth the $75 price.My daughters nails looked very uneven and there was black dip powder residue all over her hands and fingers when they finished. Not the end of the world. But the very next day one of the nails broke. Two days later another broke. Shes been getting the exact same type of nail service for years and this is the first time she ever had an issue. I took her to a different salon for repairs. Just a few days later other nails broke as well. Theyre not super long and shes not rough on them at all. I cant recommend this salon. We ended up just soaking them off with acetone because they kept breaking off. I dont know if the materials or application was to blame, but either way we wont be back.

When I moved downtown, this was the next best thing I could find other than “blush” in red bank. From what I’ve noticed, it’s pretty average, but I don’t expect anything crazy. I used to come here frequently until I had a guy not once, but twice hit on me and made the entire experience so weird and uncomfortable. I purposefully brought my boyfriend up in the conversation, and this dude literally asked me “where is he, does he make enough time for you?” I think his name was Mike/Michael. Before I got stuck with him though, I always got Terry who is absolutely awesome. So yeah, after that one weird experience, I stopped going here and drove 40 minutes to red bank back to “blush”. Tonight I gave in and wanted to give it another shot. I’m pretty sure the woman I had tonight was named Taylor, and she was awesome and very sweet. Thank you Taylor for making my experience super relaxing and comfortable! I guess from now on if I ever see that guy again, I will straight up have to say no, I have to wait for someone else. Other than that, nice staff, friendly & attentive owner, pretty good selection of polish!

I have been coming here for years. They are under new management now and boy its amazingly different.

I went in for a pedicure and liquid gel set. The guy who did my nails said as he was applying the gel When it starts to burn to pull out my hand from the lamp and put it in front of the fan. I wasnt sure I heard him correctly as I have never been told this before. Then I put my hand in the lamp to cure. The burn happened so fast and was so intense it took me by surprise. I immediately questioned him because I have never had this happen before. He said it was normal. Well, IT IS NOT NORMAL!A quick google search when I got back to work showed this as one of the many bad results of the burning I was feeling: One symptom of over-curing a UV gel is the release of excessive amounts of heat. This type of burning can cause the nail plate to separate from the nail bed. This creates an open space, which is called onycholysis. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING OR TALKING ABOUT!

My homegirl put me onto this place about a month ago and referred me to a lady name Becky and Im totally in love got nail tech for life🤞🏾♥️

If I could give no stars I would. Yesterday I called to make an appointment 3 hours prior to close and was told no one is working. Came in today, I was signed in, told to pick my polish and wait for the tech as she was finishing a client. Fast forward one hour later, I’m told she and everyone else is leaving and oh well I’ll just have to leave. Regardless, of the extended wait time and no warning prior to sitting for an hour. Extremely unprofessional and rude. I do not recommend. Go elsewhere.

Such a friendly place! I usually hate having to ask for something fixed on my nails but I felt so comfortable here and the woman who did my nails was so nice and attentive by making sure I was happy with what she was doing. Would recommend!

I have been going to Kayla, who used to own Kathys nails for several years. I followed her to Capital Nails because of the excellent service I have always received. She has always been very professional.and courteous. My manicures, pedicues and eyebrow waxes are the best I have gotten anywhere.One thing that helps to be served quickly, is to have an appointment.

I went in after my coworker recommended it saying they did acrylics for $35. I asked to do some nail art and assumed this would be extra. At the end, I was charged $60 which is a lot more than I was expecting seeing as my coworker was only charged $35. I then asked for the nail art to be taken off because I did not like it and was expecting to be refunded the whole $72 i paid ($60 for nails plus $12 tip) but instead was only given $10 in cash. I thought this was very unprofessional and do not understand how or why acrylics would cost $50. My nails look fine but I will not be returning.

After coming here since college (2007-), I’ve finally come to terms now that this place has gone downhill.A few months ago, I had a terrible pedicure experience here- there was a younger girl who did not stop talking, (and took over an hour for a basic pedicure), and left me with relatively messy toes because of her being distracted. She was super nice, so I didn’t hold it against the salon and figured she must be new.Yesterday, I came in for a regular manicure for a job interview today. The girl was again younger, (different girl), and was really gentle and sweet, but did not file the nails at all nor did she coat my nails completely, (didn’t reach cuticles, which are also rough looking today). When I was asked to put my hands under the fan/lamps at the end, I noticed that the lamps were off- I was sharing a tiny fan with another girl across from me and felt uncomfortable, as if I was all up in her space.I left the salon yesterday after sitting there under the fan for easily 40 minutes and my nails still screwed up (paint) 3 hours later. Because I have an interview, I stopped back in today to ask if they could touch them up. It was very busy, so I understand that I was not dealt with right away- but when I explained to (who I believe to be the owner) what happened to my nails and how the lamps were not on, he more or less just chalked it up to it not being a gel manicure, saying that regular manicures take 4 hours to dry. (I felt manicure-shamed.)This has NEVER been my experience in the past- here or elsewhere- and I am not new to the mani/pedi game.I’m not saying that there aren’t great technicians there because I have had them, but as of lately, I have been disappointed over and over. (It has been more than just the two experiences mentioned.) I don’t know what’s up with this place, but it’s a shame that in a few years it’s changed so much. I would rather pay more money for better service somewhere else.

Absolutely recommend! I have been to many salons and have never been as impressed by one as much as this one. The atmosphere is fun and relaxing. The pedicures are flawless. They are a one stop shop and you cannot beat the prices unless you do it yourself.

I got a pedicure by Leah and it was the best Ive ever received! I also got a full set which was perfect. The only thing is the lady who does eyebrows takes more than 10mins literally!!! The prices are good as well.

Ive been here multiple times, and the first time was awesome! I had the nicest guy and he did an amazing job. The second time, I had the rudest girl I could have ever imagined. She was mean, and didnt do a good job, when I asked her to fix one of my nails, she said no. I went back again because I thought I just had one bad experience and the work that was done on my nails was sub-par at best. I went back to give them one more chance and got one of the worst manicures ever. I always liked them because they were cheaper than other places Ive been, but I guess you get what you pay for. Would not recommend.

Took awhile to do my nails, had to go get another person in the shop to do them also. Been there one other time and they were professional but this time not as much.I do not recommend this place if you are wanting something professional done and for a goodservice as well. Messed up a nail and couldn’t have it fixed due to them being busy.

Very friendly place and offers excellent services at reasonably competitive prices. There are many nail services to select from for both hands and feet as well as EXCELLENT massage facilities on the upper level for individual or couples massages also at reasonable prices. All services are professionally handled and accommodated. I am very pleased to have found this place, located near the industrial side of downtown Columbia in Gamecock country. 😏 The facilitys interior and exterior are very clean and easy to see on Assembly Street.

I had an issue that occurred within a week of getting my nails done. I called, was told to come in that evening after work, and the problem was fixed free of charge. I get very courteous and quick service when Im there, and theyre open on Sunday! Love it.

Ive been going here for years, and the service has been hit or miss. Its hard to beat the price, and I usually can walk right in for my mani/pedi. However, their quality is inconsistent, and on more that one occasion Ive left with bleeding cuticles. I keep going back because, as I said before, the price is right and I can usually just walk right in. Due to their inconsistency, I wouldnt recommend them for special occasions (I made sure to make an appointment elsewhere for my wedding).

Up charged me for nail shape and removal which is fine outside of the fact that no one informed me of this. I only found out because the client next to me was informed. Additionally she didn’t speak to me the entire appointment, dreadfully awkward silence. Furthermore, when I asked about the extra up charges (visibly upset) she didn’t bother the apologize or even say a word. Finally the pedicure was amateur at best, and the “coffin shape” looked more like rounded square. Lazy job and terrible customer service. 0 stars

Went for pedicure. Specifically told host we wanted to be serviced same time (couple) and the host said ok and sat both of us at the stations. Water does not stay warm in bowls. We got the water changed twice and had to assist heating the water while waiting 1 hour and 18 minutes before 1 tech came over to start pedicure. Mid way thru mine I told the tech we wanted to be serviced together so we could be done around same time and he stated someone was on the way however that did not happen, my fiance pedicure began after mine and only reason why he was able to get it is because the tech finally ask someone who was on the way out if she could stay and do it.🙄The nail tech skip step of my pedicure, never ask what service I wanted and I had to tell him numerous times how to cut the nails down,remove skin from sides and buildup from under nails. All the old polish was not removed and when I pointed it out he stated Ill polish over it so I had to tell him no, I prefer it done correctly and to give me some acetone Ill do it myself if you need help. It was extremely frustrating and we were there 3 hours. My fiance also had to instruct the tech to scrub heels and show where parts were being skipped. The guy had scrub on the back of my legs-forgot it was there and begin to pour oil over it so he had to towel blot the mixture off my legs 🤦🏽‍♀️😭The nail polish went onto other toes and he didnt remove excess polish so once again I ask for acetone to remove myself because he had walked away to service another customer. We paid $60 for a half done job. This was not our first time and it has definently changed in quality of service😔 We missed other appts waiting so long for pedicures to begin. They eyebrow girl lied upon arrival that we could get them done together and Snook out the back door knowing her co workers were swamped. Nail polishes were dried up in bottles on the display and customer service was not very good at all.

I have been going to Capital Nails and Spa since 2009 and have always had a pleasant experience. The staff is professional and friendly and highly knowledgeable of their field. On top of that its a one stop shop. You can get anything from and mani and pedi to a massage or waxing. They even have a hair salon! If you are interested in acrylic or gel sets or gel polish, I would recommend Terry Ly. Youll want to make an appointment because he is always booked! Mark will give you the ultimate massage and Penny is great at waxing. I love it here!

Worst place ever. I typically go here to get my eyebrows done. Normally at any other place an eyebrow wax takes 10-15 minutes max. At this place I always wait for at minimum an hour. And then once Im finally in the room, it takes 30 minutes for just an eyebrow wax! I arrived today at 12:30 and didnt end up leaving until 1:45. There were only 4 people in front of me, so I shouldnt be waiting for an hour. But then I see why it takes so long, because the lady who waxes the eyebrows moves slower than molasses. She tweezed the same spot on one eyebrow for 20 minutes (mind you, my eyebrows werent THAT bad when I went in there). Shes very rough and it is not a pleasurable experience whatsoever. And to top it all off, they raised their prices for an eyebrow wax from $8 to $10. So if youre trying to get a quick, cheap wax, avoid this place at all costs. As far as nails, the one time I got my nails done here, they cut two of my fingers. I will most definitely be finding a new place after today pushed me over the edge.

Terrible!! The nail technicians are as BASIC as they come... If you want more than just a polish, you are better off taking your money else where! The nail technicians can not even properly file and have the nerve to be insulted if you try to direct them on how you (the paying customer) wants your nails to look. And they have a cleaning crew of mostly Children, that comes in during business hours, sweeps around your feet - as if you are in the way and the place still looks borderline clean! Management CARES NOTHING ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE!! SAVE YOUR MONEY & YOUR NAILS... FIND ANOTHER SALON!My Experience was so terrible I stopped mid service and just got a clear coat until I could find another salon!FYI: I also was told by a friend later, after my experience, that the eyebrow waxing is just as unprofessional and mediocre, at best!

Unfair service. When I walked in I was the only one waiting in the waiting area. Someone else walked in 20 minutes later. I waited over an hour to receive service and they took the girl who came in after me first.I just walked out.

Absolutely worst salon experience ever! I was there with a wedding party, and even though we had reserved spots well in advance, there were only three people helping us (we had been told there would be more). Even though we paid for pedicures, we should have just asked for our toes to be painted because they rushed through the pedicures so fast thats really all we got. That wasnt even the worst of it though. I decided to get gel polish on my fingernails, and when they were done, there was a huge chunk of nail next to each cuticle that hadnt been painted (its faster and easier to paint when you dont get anywhere near the skin but it looks so crappy). Also, you could see some nails through the polish. And...no surprise...the polish on many fingers started peeling off in less than a week. I would never go back.

Do better booking appointments. Had an appt at 1pm— still waiting at 1:20; however a walk in got serviced before those who had appts. Their customer service sucks but they do a great job. The owner gets a 2 star. His employees receive 5 stars

Took my 4 yr old here to get us both mani n pedis which in reality all they did was paint my daughter nails n charged me $40 to do it. The polish lasted for 2 weeks on myself but it definitely was not worth taking my daughter too

Worst experience ever! Decided to write a review because thats how pissed I am today & I never write reviews. Went in around 1:45 for a full set & requested Neing Neing (not sure if thats the right spelling). The manager, Brian, told me that she had an appointment so I told him that I would wait until she was done, no problem. So then 3 rolls around Im still waiting then 4:00. I asked how long it would be until she was done, Brian told me that she had left!! I was livid because he knew & she knew that I was waiting for her to do my nails & she left anyway. I sat there waiting for 2 hours for nothing. Worst customer experience ever & ive been going here a few times before but this experience had made me not want to spend a dime there ever again. Not to mention they are very expensive for no reason at all. $95 for a gel mani & pedi?! Get out of here. Never again. Save your money & time people!!!

Ive been to Capital Nail & Spa twice, once for a pedicure and eyebrow wax and once for an acrylic manicure. The pedicure was fine, but I was cut (and bled) on the side of my nail from her pushing back my skin. My eyebrow wax was just eh. I got home and my husband said, They look the same. The second visit I got acrylic nails put on. Although it took 45+ minutes, They werent done with precision. My cuticles were never pushed back, I was cut by the nail grinder, the acrylic was bumpy on one nail, and the acrylic didnt go all the way across on one nail. Now, as they are growing out, they are extremely thick where the acrylic was put on and are pulling up at the base and sides. *EDIT* I went back for a pedicure. Not only did I get cut, (again!), I had the most rough and least enjoyable massage (with her elbows!) on the top of my feet. Three days later I went to the doctor with an infection from this place. The doctor labeled it as cellulitis. I will not be going back.

They are okay, but have lost their best asset, Sandy, who does the best job on my eyebrows ever. She has moved to Venus Nails and Spa 909 State St in Cayce by the BiLo in Parkland Plaza so my business has moved, too.

The first couple of times I went for a fill-in two nails broke each time shortly after. After me complaining about the nail breakage I was told that I needed a full set because the nails were old even though I had only had them for not even 2 months.So I had my old set taken off and got a new set, and I now have 3 broken nails a week and a half after getting them done. I have wasted so much money here...I will NEVER come again.

Terry is the best out of everyone that works there. I havent always liked the way some of the other nail technicians do my nails here, but Terry always does an excellent job.

I came all the way from Atlanta to Celebrate Mothers Day with my Mom and Sister. I called and scheduled an appointment one week ahead of time for 3 manis and pedis and a massage for my Mother. I was disappointed by the look of the location. I chose it due to a great spa experience in 2013 but things sure have changed. Upstairs was dead. 5 fountains in the place not one on. Fried chicken and food layed out for the workers to eat. Then to top it off I was told the massuse had been MIA for days, so no massage for my Mother. I called a week ahead of time, couldnt someone contact me and inform the services I requested could not be performed. Sad. This maybe good for a quick stop nail services but they need to take spa off their name. There is nothing spa like about this place anymore.

Went for a gel manicure for my wedding two weeks ago. The entire manicure was peeling by Monday and I got it on Friday. The lady had to redo several nails because there were bubbles and hair in the gel. One of the worst manicures I have gotten and a lazy stylist.

I had the worst, creepiest experience with a guy who did my nails here. He hit on me and made the whole appointment extremely uncomfortable. Not sure what his name was, but my appointment took twice as long because he wouldnt just do my nails and let me relax. Will not be coming back.

They are slack. They dont have much of a nail color selection. They laugh at costumers and they dont do first come first served. Just to be honest. This happened on two separate occasions. They also hurt my fingers during manicure. Just go somewhere else.

HORRIBLE SERVICE. First off when I approached the nail polish display topick out a color i was basically attacked by an older woman who kept insisting that i get the colors she picked out. then she had the nerve to get mad and tell me fine, you choose. youre the one thats gonna be wearing it! no duh! no one asked you for your assistance to begin with. then the entire time shes doing my nails she keeps staring at me and then speaking what i assume was vietnamese to the girl next to her and laughing. i asked her if the girl next to her was her daughter she laughed and said she can be whatever you want her to be to me. you have no clue who she is to me do you? i said no, thats why i asked. then she and the girl mumbled something and begin to laugh again. by this time im pissed off b/c they begin to play games like...you see him over there? hes my dad! lol i didnt find anything funny so i just kept my comments to myself. now initially she told me for my service today would be $50 so im like cool. theyre a little cheaper than my usual place. when she finished with my nails she didnt help me put my shoes on, say youre done pay at the register, go wash you hands or nothing. i had to take it upon myself to ask and do what i thought i should do. then when i approach the register i said $50 right? she said no girl i said $55. whats wrong with you. i said you told me $50 when you started but its cool you went ahead and threw your tip in. my problem with you is you run your mouth too much girl! i paid for my service but i did not tip. horrible customer service. only good thing about todays experience was that i got to try the new mood changing polish!

The environment is peaceful and the employees are very patient with you and take their time making sure your taking care of. They greet you as you come.in and give you time to decide what kind of service you want. Very prompt and welcoming.

Horrible....nasty...experience ...the women doing my pedicure ... went to the register to cash out someone with the same gloves she was doing my feet with....than she came back.....i had to tell her to change gloves....than the purple scrub pad was brown i had to tell her to get a new one....Which is nasty...but the older guy who did my nails was great n fast...BUT SORRY NEVER AGAIN.... Won’t be returning I was made to wait over an hour to get services when I requested a different technician because the tech that was available bruised my arm from a “light” massage that was too aggressive I was told by the receptionist that he was assigning her to do my work after she had already left for the day and I had been placed in a massage chairSome of the technicians are rude one technician even made the comment that she hates doing mens nails I was grateful she wasn’t doing any work on me A male technician was just sitting there doing nothingBottom line unprofessional and rude they won’t be getting anymore of my money or wasting my time I suggest avoiding this place

Seriously doubt any of these negative reviews are from actual customers. Great place to get all your beauty needs! These negative reviews are probably sour owners/workers from other shops. Not anyones fault but your own that you all work at 2nd rate spas like the one in the mall.

Ive been coming here for about 3 1/2 years now... And this is the 2nd time I was not pleased with the service. And that never happened. But when the customer not satisfied and management Not doing or saying nothing to make sure you as the paying customer is completely satisfied. So hopefully they get better by about that or I will be taking my money else where

I’ve been getting manis and pedis here for years. I only recently found out I could make an appointment but for a basic pedicure, there’s never been a long wait as a walk-in.

Was quoted one price and charged another. Less than a week later and the polish has changed colors and chipped (its gel). I scratched my leg and popped off the entire overlay. Will NEVER return.

Ms. Berry is an awesome massage therapist...she had my husband feeling like a new man...dont hesitate to go see her!

It was pretty bad, the guy that did my nails cut the skin by my nails and one cut deep, every time I would ask him to fix something he kept telling me no that the nail was fine and he kept messing up the nail polish and got an attitude every time he had to fix it, and my nails hurt like crazy for 2 days after, I dont recommend you go here!!
