The burgers are a nice big portion. Had the cowboy burger with tots and a nice cold mind Circus Hazy IPA - delicious!

Great spot for live music, two new pool tables, and a great selection of drinks at a reasonable price. Usually there’s a cover charge when a band is playing which is frequently. I like this place it’s near my house, and there is usually a good crowd.

Went last night to see Sarah Shook and the Disarmers. Good bar, good food, top touring act - worst sound Ive heard in ages. The band was so good, but people were leaving and no one asked for an encore.Please get a new sound guy!

Ordered a bleu cheese bacon burger with a side of tater tots. Food came out with fries instead. Brought it up with the bartender and they got me a side of tater tots free of charge. Fries and tots were good, but burger tasted burnt. Ended up getting food poisoning.Besides the food, the drink selection is great. The bartenders were quick, attentive, and available. The atmosphere was chill and I personally liked the music selection.In short, a nice little watering hole to hang out and drink at, but maybe eat somewhere else before getting there.

I came to The Wayfarer for trivia night and had a blast despite the loud atmosphere. The bartenders were super friendly and attentive, making the experience enjoyable. Just be prepared for a lively crowd and bring your best trivia knowledge!

Medicare bar, subpar, bit dirty crowd is meh. Lame you have to pay a cover charge for a band that isn’t that good. You can skip out on this place

Shame on this venue. They are NOT supportive of bands or any music scene. Eric the talent buyer cancelled my bands show there roughly two weeks before the date because well... he decided he wanted to book something else. I had a band from out-of-state playing with us as part of their tour and there simply isnt enough time to try and book something else. He didnt reach out to check in or ask me about moving the date or anything. I was only notified of the cancellation because I sent them a flyer for approval. Not cool.

Went in with 3 buds to catch some live music.Security at the door were friendly and professional. Bar tender was friendly, quick, and professional. Draft on tap was super cold. Great wings!Cool atmosphere. Great room. Highly recommend.Keep doing what youre doin.

This bar sits back in a strip mall and is a killer place to see a show. Sound was good, service was friendly and drinks were stiff. Cant ask for more.

Nice hidden gem. Looks nice inside, dimmed setting with concert stage in the next room. The only thing that could be worked on is the mens bathroom. I personally am a dive bar guy, so Im used to $hitty bathrooms. This one is a $hitty dive bar bathroom that doesnt complement the test of the venue. Thats the only thing bad I could say about this place. Good vibe and good crowd on the Wednesday night we went to see Sunny Sweeny, County singer.

Great venue for live music. Trendy environment. Clean bathrooms. Great selection of beers and cocktails. I ordered a Montucky tall boy and a Pliney The Elder by Russian River on tap! I love the merch area and I love the little outside area to get a breather from the great music.

Didnt get good or drinks here but the show was good. Staff were friendly. Parking was easy, this is essentially in a strip mall with businesses that are closed when shows happen so plenty of space.

Came here on a Saturday night. Literally nobody there. It was empty. Bartender (Zack, literally spoke 3 words to him) kicked me and my friends out for no reason despite the fact that we were totally respectful and calm. I was totally respectful of their requests to talk to me and they wouldn’t talk to me. The bouncer had no idea why we got kicked out yet called me a “f**” when i asked to discuss the problem. DO NOT COME HERE.Edit: hilarious that I can write this while “drunk” but the bartender can’t explain why he kicked me out. Ridiculous.

We love The Wayfarer! We have played there more times then we can count over the years! The sound, the food, the drinks, the vibe is the best! Eric the talent buyer is always amazing to us and all of the bands. Come get your self a beer and check out some great music or better yet come to a MOONSVILLE show!

Came on a Wednesday, had the special of the day (rib platter). Was delicious. Service was great. Cassandra is my favourite bartender there. 2 Diamond pool tables. Absolutely love 90s night at the Wayfarer. The band is great! So energetic the whole time they are up there. The crowd is amazing too. I havent been any other night but Friday nights this is one of my favorite places to go to sing and dance with friends. Highly recommend for a bit of weekend nostalgia.

So much fun listening to Steve Carson and Jameson sing. The atmosphere was great and everyone was so supportive. Loved it. Service was quick even though it was packed.

We went to see the band Tunnels on a Thursday night and found parking to be easy, the music was great, and the staff was friendly. Also an excellent sound system!

What a weird night. I’ve never gone to a bar where they interrupt your evening, demanding that you pay money to stay.We got to the bar around 8:45. No cover at the door (it’s early, understandable). Bought a couple rounds of drinks and were talking with other customers when two of the bar staff walk up with a clipboard and let us know that if we plan on staying, we have to pay a cover. Otherwise we will be kicked out at 9:30.In what world do you demand money from people already within your bar? Every bar/club/venue in OC would start charging a cover for new arrivals around 10pm. Even if they charged a cover at the door from the very beginning, we would have paid. Making the rounds to the already-paying customers inside your bar is weird, and kills whatever environment you were hoping to have.We won’t be back and will be telling everyone to do the same. It’s a shame too, the ambience and people are great.

The small stage makes for great shows where you feel a part of the music and not like one of the 1000 people. For was food too. I recommend this venue if tour looking for a more personal experience.

Cool little dive bar . I have been coming here to see live music since the 90s. Not too fancy, great selection of local beer.

Fun venue with good food. The concerts are great because there is a separate room from the bar where the sound is amazing and shows feel very intimate. You could also sit at the bar and enjoy the music while still being able to talk to your friends.

Did not expect them to turn me away, especially since nowhere on their website did they say they require ID to enter(let alone physical ID).Drive 40 minutes to support a friend in a band, wasn’t even planning on drinking.Disappointing to say the least. I was able to go next door and buy beer without an ID though!Needless to say I won’t be coming back here nor will I recommend this place.

This place was a lot of fun. Went there with some friends to check it out. The K.J. on Sunday Nights is awesome. Too bad the wait to sing is so long. But thats a testament to how good Bobby Vegas is at his job!

This bar is great! Open floor plan with lots of space. Two free pool tables. Good selection of drinks. Live music. Contemporary interior/decorations. It makes me feel like Im at rustic barn wedding; its beautiful and awesome! Polite and helpful staff. Clean bathrooms with multiple stalls (despite there being a crowd, I didnt have to wait a single time to use the bathroom!) Fun group of people. I highly recommend this venue!

Good spot for a round of pool a drink and some live music. Lots of history (former Detroit bar) and they get a lot of great local artists as well as some main stream artists on occasion. You gotta check the website for updates on bands/artists because sometimes they don’t advertise the big names.

Love coming here with a friend from out of town. Good selection of pin ball machines and 80-90s video games. Bar has a good selection and when its not packed it can be really fun. Major downside is there is only one bar and it can be hard to move around inside because of that. They do have a back area with a food truck.

Excellent place to see a show or just have a drink. Located in an area that now has multiple options to choose from! It is small but if you get there on time youll enjoy up close views. They even have bench lounges against the wall for the lazy😂 drink prices are pretty standard. Parking can be a challenge on busy nights. Ample smoking area.

I love the setup here... stage & decent area for watching bands, that transitions to an open area with a nice bar. Keep going & theres another open area with a pool table. Kindof outta the way in an old shopping center, but definitely a good place to see bands, have drinks, and/or eat dinner.

Was a really fun. Night, Bobby vegas was great though could only get one song in due to how many people were waiting that night. Good times

Physical location has been here for awhile but name has changed, I remember it under a previous incantation: Detroit bar. Good place to catch a local act & get the local vibe in Costa Mesa. Havent tried food or drink but caught local acts. Mello feel to the place.

I miss when this place was Detroit Bar, largely because the bands that came through were pretty high caliber, but also because some of the refinements that were made after the fact arent capitalized on the way they should be. I went here for a meal once and basically had to arm-wrestle the staff for a special order for one of our guests. The bands that come through arent anything amazing, but it seems like it takes an act of congress to get a booking there regardless. Also, they have a horrible tendency to not update the marquee and if they do, they put the neighborhood-specific advertisements (like football games) towards the commercial side of the street while putting the band advertisements toward the residential side of the street (I would do the opposite to better appeal to both.) I guess this is a solid spot for people who want to hang out at a strip-mall bar, but I fell out of love with this place some time ago.

Liked it better when it was club mesa, then Detroit lounge, more of a hard core atmosphere. No more slam pits here... still has good music once in awhile, and I say once in awhile. Totally redone inside, classier, too many hipsters. Still has 2 pool tables. Food is better, but..... not the Costa Mesa land mark it used to be..

Great happy hour specials, football games always on and pretty friendly staff. You can pay with an app that they were promoting last time we were there. Its kind of cool to pay from it and redeem coupons without having to wait for the check. They were still working out the kinks though when we tried to pay via the app.

A fun bar to go hang out with hipsters, rappers, cowboys, and all others. They have live music daily. The food is tasty and the drinks are stiff. You surly get your worth when you get a drink at the bar. Loud but fun environment to hang out in.

Sean was an awesome bartender who knows how to pour a drink and keep a conversation. Atmosphere was lively, bands play which really gets the crowd amped and the pool tables help to break up the flow of the bar. Overall a radical establishment. Definitely recommend.

Went there for a drink & some good. Heard off the next door app that their tacos were legit. I had their blackened fish tacos & they were amazing!. Will definitely be back to try other menu items.

The beer selection is always the latest and greatest, awesome live music, incredible food (best taco Tuesday on Orange County), stellar staff and extensive liquor selection. Yes it’s in a strip mall, but this is a great bar regardless. The Wayfarer is a huge upgrade from the old, Detroit bar.

Pretty nice bar with a stage, I go there to see my friends band play. They have good drinks and tables to eat at. People always seem to be having a good time and the place gives off a nice vibe!

Plenty of parking they have wifi plenty of good shows like the darts admission fee is pretty decent plenty of places to eat there decent priced drinks. They have a good wine selection. Decent sized stage. Always a great place to have a good time.

Live bands, kitchen open until 10 PM, good drinks = winning! So thankful to have such a great live music venue in Costa Mesa!

Food is great. Good selection of beers. But the service is where its at. The gentlemen behind the bar make a huge effort to get your drinks right away. Love this place.

Decent place. It’s a low key bar with authentic themes. Last time I went it was very hot and too loud for the ears. It wasn’t enjoyable.

Awesome venue. Cant speak to the restaurant, as I was only here for a show and the drinks. Bar staff was knowledgeable and friendly, and the production on the show was excellent. Drinks were a tad pricey, but not bad.

Unassuming spot with a pretty spacious floor space, a stage for music/live entertainment & standing room, tables, pool tables on the far end, darker woods & a clean color scheme. Wide selection of craft beer on tap. A dive bar for people who pay their bills on time.

Some can mix drinks and some cant. Great friendly attitude so if your drink is not up to par...just let them know. When the bands play...its loud so this is not a place to have long conversations. Get your convo done at the coffee shop and come here to bang your head to the music, guzzle some drinks and get some apps.

Saw Z-trip here one night. Definitely an upgrade from when it was Detroit bar. More open layout and nice atmosphere. I wasnt prepared for their sound system to wreck my ears.

Closing at ten after ten? Change the hours in that case, but dont be rude about it. Clearly the folks working tonight - 9/3/19 - dont have a stake in the business as a whole. With friends sitting at the bar, and yet turning down a paying patron, I just dont see how they could.

This venue is really great, formerly The Detroit Bad. Great place for local music of all types and personally a great sound system. Drinks are good and lots of open room for large crowds.

Its a pretty chill bar on the weekdays, the staff are also pretty chill and attentive to people needing a drink, I never waited more than a minute or so.

I had an amazing time at this bar! The live band that was playing was an amazing time, if this bar attracts similar talent then you are sure to have an amazing, high energy time!

EVERYTHING was perfect up until the girl in the blonde hair that worked here became a human pop up add and wouldnt stop begging us to download that dang tabbed out app. She interrupted us WHILE WE WERE IN THE MIDDLE OF EATING. Very rude. If we said we didnt download want to download it the first time, dont come back and harass us six more freakin times!
