Went for a girls night out at the Barbie pop up and it was even more awesome than we expected! We arrived right when they opened so as to avoid the crowds. Our Ken bartender was the absolute best and so cute!!! Great drinks and not too pricey. The decor was so awesome and the photo ops were great. Best fries ever!Cant wait to return!
The burger and fried chicken sandwich we got here was phenomenal! The drinks were great, and our bartender Kristen was so friendly. She made our experience here so enjoyable. Overall, all of the staff was quite attentive. The music was also great, it had a good mix of party classics - my sister and I were even trying to Shazam some of the throwback songs we forgot about! 12/10 for our food, and if you like small/intimate bars this is a great location!
Ok so Ive only been to their pop up event...but since the food actually comes from the actual restaurant i guess the review makes sense? The food is good yall. The burgers arenr anything super special but danggg why is it so juicy and goood?????!!!!!Wow their sandwhiches were cold and delish! they can work on their sauce game for the tenders tho.I went to The Whip Barbie popup and it is so worth checking out! Drinks were good and pretty!omg their tator tots with truffle oil... dannngggg if youre into that.. you MUST order it!!!!
Came with my buddies to grab some lunch on a Saturday. Most of us ordered the burger. It was a pretty good burger. Fries were crispy and well seasoned.Chicken sandwich was the other popular option. Only real complaint was that it wasnt spicy enough. Otherwise it was solid as well.Tator tots were very crispy as well.As for the actual bar... Some TVs with sports on. Seems to be the Texas Tech spot for games on a Saturday. Plenty of space to sit both inside and out.Servers were great and friendly.
Went for the Barbie themed Bar. The place is a lot smaller than I thought and they do take chairs away after a certain time. But the bartenders were all so nice and very attentive. The food is from next door but the BEST BAR FOOD ever. Drinks were a 8/10 and pricing was very affordable. Decorations were cute but not very spacious, music sometimes too loud, and I wouldn’t personally stay here any longer than 1 hour.
The place might seem small from outside but it’s very cozy inside. They usually have themes running all year long. They had game of thrones theme when I visited, precisely the reason for my visit. Their menu and drinks were inspired from show’s food and drinks. The bas was full of pictures and quotes from the show and staff was wearing show inspired costumes.
My girlfriends and I were super excited to visit whippersnapper for its Willy Wonka theme night but the restrooms are a joke. They have an employee guarding the restrooms and hes doing a horrible job he was allowing his friends or people to pay him to skip the line while theres 10-20 people waiting to use the only 2 bathrooms and he just let who he chooses skip the line. My husband said something to him and he just looked at my husband up and down as if he was gonna start something. We left to well managed bar down the street. Do not recommend this place if you want to have a peaceful good time this is NOT the place.
I absolutely love this place! Small but fun. The Whip, as most of us know it as, love the amazing staff with some of the best DJs Dallas can offer. The pool table always has the coolest felts. From jelly beans and cheetah print. Best part is that they also do pop up themes or bring in artists to the venue. Last couple of artists that Ive been to are Lil Flip, Paul Wall, Mr. Pookie, and Ying Yang Twins to name a few. Their pop themes have been Friends, Harry Potter, and The Simpsons. This is also one of the only places that I know of that carries 40 oz beers. Its an old school drink of choice for me. Brings back memories. They even have their own logo on the paper bags they put over them. Ive celebrated many of birthdays here and Ill be celebrating many more. I always bring by new friends and out of owners to enjoy this pocket of fun in a club location whenever anyone comes in to town. Their shirt and hat designs are a must to buy for anyone who ever stops in. If you want a fun photo op, theres many choices. From the outside during the day or night. To the cool photo iPad with themes and branding by the door. There is always a great spot to capture the night you went. I cant wait to go back and dance the night away! When? Sooner than later. Its top 3 places to go to in Dallas.
This is a must visit! Right now, they are doing a The Simpsons pop up and Ill have to go again before it leaves. The servers were great and quick, one of the bartenders even dressed as Duff. The art funny and drinks delicious, even the bathrooms were clean. I literally have no complaints. The music was loud but not too loud like some other reviews have said--in my opinion. It does get packed but there are tables and seating, just go early and get a table. Now parking was a challenge, we just parked down the street and walked since the lot was full. The DJ was AMAZING!! He played some popular hits from high school and had a variety. My only regret is they didnt play Crank That by Soulja Boy so I could see if I still have it hahaha.
Trash bar filled with scum of the earth people working there. Some blonde bimbo bartender stole my debit card and then immediately call 3 bouncers (lil boys was scared and needed back up) to physically kick me out after. Do not waste your time or money on these low life people. They steal from you and then assault you.
My girlfriend and I came here for the Simpson pop up bar and by far one of the most fun evenings I’ve had in Dallas!!! The food menu was identical to the Keg from the sitcom and the drinks were yummy and strong! I had the chicken sandwich and truffle Parmesan fries- both blew my mind! I practically inhaled it. The fries were decadent and perfectly crisped and the fried chicken sandwich is what dreams are made of!!!
This place was amazing! The atmosphere was great, LOVED the Willy Wonka theme, food and drinks were delish and our bartender was super friendly and attentive. Definitely will be going back!
First off I will say I love this space and its themes. Its small, but I love that. The dj plays mixed music so everyone feels included. I have been a few times for a few different themes. This last time I invited more friends for the Wonka theme. The theme is great, but the reality is the female bar tenders are extremely racist. When I came for the Game of Thrones theme the woman bartender stood by the wall and never even attempted to serve me. I honestly thought she didnt work there. The male bartenders are always very nice and approach and greet. The woman bartender waited until another person entered before she decided to approach and serve them. I was annoyed but I let it go.This last experience at Wonka was the final straw. The male bartender dressed like Willy Wonka was very nice. Like he was the best. I asked him for a picture and he was kind. I asked him if it would be ok to get a picture with him, the oompa loompa girl and violet and he said yeah of course we do it everyday. It was not super packed at the time and I saw him ask them like 4 times and they refused. Kept blowing him off and he was trying to be super nice when explaining It to me. The last time that he pretty much was telling me that they said no both women come running over, jump on the bed by we were standing an the photographer (not a nice lady at all) snaps a picture of us not even prepared and then they run off.How is this racist? I watched these women all night take pictures with people even after this without issue. Just as kind and nice as can be (both of them).I go out to have a good time. I enjoy a nice theme so the Whip had been a spot of mine. I really hope they can get it together because no one should feel unwelcome.
We were so excited to go to this pop up Willy Wonka themed bar, when we got in we got a drink and then were walking further into the bar by the DJ. As we were walking this short (gray?) balding worker shoulder checked me, and and then did it to my friend right behind me (mind you we are both 5’4 23 year old girls) which was overall really unnecessary and rude, and then he put his hand on my friends hip to push her out of the way. Her boyfriend was behind her and told him to not touch my friend and then this short balding gray worker started berating my friends boyfriend, getting in his face and screaming at him. This worker had a major attitude problem and should not be allowed to treat paying customers as so. He kicked us out and would not let us finish our drinks. We will never be back and encourage others to as well, unless you enjoy being physically assaulted by the workers and verbally berated.
We were so excited to go to whippersnapper for its Willy Wonka themed night but were instantly let down by the incredibly rude staff. After just getting our drinks and walking to find a spot to stand, one of the staff absolutely bodied my friend and I. My boyfriend called him out, and the staff member tried to fight us! Do not recommend unless you want to be harassed by someone looking to get into a fight.
We came from San Antonio for this place, well worth it! Server addressed us immediately, really nice! Bartender who dressed like Ken was very accommodating as well. Friendly staff and great concept. If you are a not into the whole college party crowd, suggest going around 6 to 9pm. We did and made such a difference. As we left we noticed the herd of 20s coming in lol Check this place out! Worth the time
The Austin Powers experience was spot on, there was each different movie playing on their screens, themed decor, and all the bartenders were dressed up as well . Music was very fitting (70’s vibes), great place to end the night with dancing and awesome themed drinks! Trenton was my bartender and he was awesome! Would definitely visit again!
I think its really fun that this bar does different themes. We went during the Harry Potter event. Drinks were good, but it was definitely more bar and less theme. If youre not a big bar goer you probably wont enjoy it much. We stayed for about 30 minutes before heading out. They had fun decorations, but they were playing loud music that had nothing to do with the HP theme.
Great pop up bar that changes themes every now and then. Good place to go for the ambiance especially if you like the current theme. Went to the game of thrones one and they had nice iron throne photo prop!
My boyfriend and I went when they had the “Family Guy” pop up bar! It is such a chill bar! It was our first time going and we had so much fun. Small and intimate, really great music, and an amazing atmosphere. Great for young adults who want to have a good time!
Had A Great Time With Family And Shout Out To Ryan He Was The Best Server Ever We Had A Blast
This place is such a blast! came here on a whim after a work party and it was so lit!! the crowd is very blended at night and is so much fun!! drinks are fairly priced and super good!
First off Im giving it 3 stars because of the guy accepting money bribes at the restroom line to cut in front of everyone else is completely not ok. He made it very known that the money you paid would assist you in either skipping the line altogether or for the entire rest of the night. Side hustle at its best I guess right?? Even though theyre the damn restrooms in the bar.
I went this Memorial Day weekend (Friday) night, the crowd was mixed with all ages and color/nationality very comfortable atmosphere. No cover to get in, bar service good no long wait even though pretty crowded. The dj played a really good mix of music, kept everyone moving(a big plus) I liked that the younger generation was nice and respectful of the older gen. Everyone mixed, mingled and danced with each other. A good time was had.The lines were truly blurred, l will go back again!
The guy with pony tail and beard was extremely rude and aggressive for no reason! Approached our group threatened to fight us if we “messed” with his light over the pool table. First time here great music and atmosphere but really unprofessional
Very cute pop up bar, we went during their game of thrones pop up and rest appreciated the iron throne and paintings throughout, not to mention the bartenders dressing the part and the cute themed cocktails as well!
Their Office theme night was great. Good selection of drinks, didnt try the food but it looked good. Would go back again. Only downsides are the location is small and there can be a wait for the restroom. Overall, I had a fun time, would go back again.
I love this place! I wore a tank top and didnt meet dress code lol, but they were nice enough to sell me a cool shirt. Overall great staff, and the food was awesome I will definitely be going back no doubt!
I went for the Harry Potter themed pop up bar, wasnt impressed. Small room packed wall to wall with people, music so loud you couldnt talk, and they had a fog machine going so you couldnt hardly breathe. Maybe the bar proper is nice, I didnt bother checking, but the pop up bar section was not impressive.
I went with a friend because shes a big Harry Potter fan... the place was cool from the heat, which was appreciated...and had great seventies music playing, but the staff there was very unfriendly to me and my friends! wasnt impressed... you need to be friendly and greet everybody and treat them like you want them there!... never felt that way... it is very small inside & you better grab a seat...the place next door was friendlier...Id go there next time...not here.
The nostalgia with this place is great. The outside seating is nice with porta cool fans that are stationed around the seating area so it makes it enjoyable. Fun beers and food options that will fit the scene. In a nice qnd fun part of Dallas, will be back!
Fun spot. Great decor that gives off a nice friendly vibe. I was in a shirt and tie due to a business function, but was still welcomed by the regular crowd. Excellent DJ the night we rolled through.
It is such a cute restaurant. I went to The Office popup bar and it was so awesome! Everything they referenced is Office related. I couldnt stop taking pictures. They also make drinks that are office related, but they also have regular liquor and beer too. They had the office related drinks at a cheaper price than the regular drinks. I think this bar deserves more room and I cant wait to see the next popup bar! Super chill place, strongly recommend!
Super fun experience - we came here on the last day of dunder whiplin and were impressed with the way everything was set up! the attention to detail is hillarious and i felt like i couldnt stop looking at just all the puns and memes - music selection was great with a mix of 2000s - now. crowd is great - normally it can feel awkward being sardined in a bar like this with people but everyone was fairly friendly and i accredit that to the fact that everyone was there to celebrate the office
The wife and I went there during a Harry Potter themed party. Its very small and it gets cramped quick, but drink prices are good, service is good, and the music was on point. It was like 90s/00s mix, so I was definitely digging that.
Great DJ, reasonably priced drinks, and good crowd. Issues are the shape of the place, which causes congestion(crowding) and the 2 bathroom which are basically on the dance floor. They are unisex which helps the flow a bit.
When in doubt always The whip, we been going here for years, and the vibe is on point always. When they have their themes its just like sprinkles on top. Overall its a safe place to party and have a great time.
Cool vibes. The bar is rather small- kind of an L shape with a pool table in one area and couches in the other. People were getting up and dancing, so the crowd was fun. Bartenders were quick and attentive.
Owner is extremely rude and unfriendly to customers and automatic 20% gratuity is forced regardless of service. Take your business elsewhere. There are so many great bars in Dallas to support. Don’t make the mistake of going here.
We loved it here. I think our bartender name was Trenton and he was really nice and talked with us a lot. He’s the best
Was a great bar. Its quite small but has tons of fun decorations and their events when they change the bar to be themed on things are amazing. Go and have a great time!
We went during the time it was Harry Potter theme and we loved everything about it. There was a food amount of bouncers, the drinks were tasty, and it wasnt too crowded inside.
The Whip hosted a themed Simpsons Pop up, everyone at my table ordered the Krusty burger, I was very disappointed when it came out it was cold with no seasoning. Overall the food was terrible, I m giving it a three star because our waitress had excellent customer service.
Really disappointed with the Harey Potter themed pop up. Sure it was technically Harry Potter themed but other than the picture of Hagrid it was a let down. There were only a few wizard themed drinks and the Butter Beer was only Miller High life... They also could have played themed music like Wizard Rock or something like that. The layout of the bar was pretty cool which was nice.
Fans of The Office, temper your expectations. This is more of a loud club than a bar. There is some art of characters and it is your birthday balloons hung from the ceiling but thats about it. Fans looking to chill in their favorite workplace and reminisce this is not that.
Havent been here since it was the Slip Inn. Service was alright, music was on point when we got there but slowly turned into the trash the younger crowd enjoys. I would go back again but start out here early and leave when the ill music and crowd changes.
Was digging the vibe when I walked in, asked the bearded bartender with glasses what he suggested, he looked at me like I’m stupid and told me to just pick something. I asked for an old fashioned and he made a remark saying that’s the worst thing I could have ordered. It’s almost funny, never coming here again. Also the music goes from RNB to rock which is really awkward.
My boyfriend stumbled across this place when he picked me up from work. It was renamed The Drunken Clam for a limited time. It was a great place. We will definitely be going back.
This is my go to place for a good time on a Friday night. The weekly theme parties are a lot of fun and the staff seems to enjoy their work. Best dive party in town!!
Good vibes. Good food. Good drinks. Good customer service! 10/10, highly recommend.Came for The Simpson’s pop up. Definitely coming back for whatever’s next.
AWESOME! If you were a fan of Slip Inn, youll love Whipper Snapper. Great mix of folks and music keeps you dancing. Drinks are just as good as Slip Inn too! I will be back often..
One of the most fun small bars in Dallas. It starts getting busy around 11 and by 12 it is wall to wall. Order a brown bag and dance the night away.
Best place to have drinks and vibe. Leslie is best bartender I ever met. Hot and attentive and remembers what you drink. 12/10 coming back
Bartenders are outright MISOGYNISTIC PIGS!!! My friend and I tried to order drinks at the bar and were immediately made uncomfortable by the bartenders. I was texting and one shouted at me “I know you’re texting me right”…um no. The second time we were standing at the bar the same bartender came around the bar and cut right in-between us while a second bartender proceed to wave his finger in my friends face and shout “I want that one.”…that one, seriously? That one is a human who doesn’t appreciate your creepy and rude advances you tiny penis prick. Females beware.
The bar itself is honestly pretty run down and not very nice, but it helps spruce things up with themed pop-up events which makes the atmosphere more fun.
Valet parking staff was rude for no reason
If you make more than minimum wage don’t step anywhere near this establishment. It’s a disgustingly grimy ex 70/80’s strip club that had to be shut down by the fire marshal after I got my 10$ 40z trash beer in a brown bag and somebody threw up all over everyone inside.
Can never go wrong with this place. Love the pop up themes. My favorite was the Harry Potter one, its probably because Im a wizard.
Tonight I over heard a bartender talk about “Mexican girls” I decided to leave the comment under her tip so she knew I over heard her the manger came over Caucasian with a beared yelling at me what it was about and he said “I guess your cold to stay and drink “ that’s when I decided to start recording. Immediately started by calling the security. We were walking away when my brother was snatched by the security guard and unlawful arrested by him I asked for a badge number and they gave a false badge number “4455” they’re are “RACIST”
It is now a Family Guy themed pop-up bar. It was fun to hang out there, but it got too busy after 11.Worth checking out for a drink.
Because the waitresses stare at you as they take selfies instead of taking your drink orders... Some of the staff is awesome others arent. Its very hit or miss!
Simpsons theme bar and restaurant was pretty good especially when they have Duff beer and Simpsons Building/everything would recommend checking it out
Cool bar. Too bad they slid a 20 percent gratuity on my tab and then I tipped 20 percent on top because I trusted that I was only charged for what I bought. Not a fan of this business practice.
Cool place with themed decorations and stuff. The place isn’t very big but it’s a good place to hang out with some friends and enjoy some drinks!
Even though its a dive bar the pony tailed bartender can be nicer. Overall nice bar & flying the Slip Inns flag high
Always different themes going onthe place may be a bit small and packed at times but is good music and good vibes everytime I go
I went during their Office transformation. It was cool. Dj was cool. I wish they didnt close off the patio though.
They made sure our drinks stayed full and the other customers were fun they even had a dj
Good club scene if youre looking for that. They also occasionally do themes such as the Office, Drunken Clam, Game of Thrones, and Breaking Bad.
I had a blast the art work on the walls are amazing and the sticker on the mirrors will side track you after a few drinks lol
Both, the whip and high fives, are great places to have a great time. Good bartenders and a fun atmosphere.
The DJ was banging! That’s what really saved them because I was upset that they advertised butter beer but in actuality we’re just serving 40 oz beers
Small bar, usually crowded, for the next few weeks its posing as the Drunken Clam from family guy which is cool.
Great service! Awesome atmosphere! Matty at the front was super cool and professional! 6 stars!
Fun place and the food is good but kitchen closes at 10
Always great experience.Good music and good environment.Recommend 100%
Simpsons theme, bar on Saturday. Great drinks, Flaming Moes are a must have!?
Bartender lost my girlfriends debit card and verbally harassed her. We will not be returning and will defer our friends from visiting.
They have good music and drinks seem decent but it is quite small.
Cute little bar that puts on great themed parties! Excellent service, would go again! 👍
Its called The Drunken Clam now. Themed after the bar visited frequently by the guy in Family Guy. Fun spot.
Fun dive bar in the area. They sell 40s. Crowd is pretty rowdy.
Great scene, tiny crowded bar but had a great time
My boy DJ Niro crushes it on Saturdays. Always packed. Great music!
Always a good time at this bar and their pop up concepts are a riot.
Hard to park but a cool place for all you Harry Potter fans
If I could give it 0 stars I would, we’d spent over $300 here and they told us to get off our chairs because they’re about to get busy and told us to leave or get off the chairs we were sitting on
The staff here is so great and fun! I had a great time!
Reminiscent of the Slip in. About the same size. Music was great. Well drinks were awful.
Just what you make of it!!a whole in the wall!# you would be better off drinking in your own garage
Great drinks and fun atmosphere despite the upity bartender.
Cool chill good drinks mix crowed nice place to hang out
Cozy bar very friendly staff.
They have a fun vending machine and good drinks
Cool, chill dive bar with great music and a fun crowd :)
Such a cool fun atmosphere, with awesome bartenders!
Was disappointed with the Harry Potter themed night.. also got charged $8 extra for a drink...
Nice little corner spot. It is small but it was fun to visit.
Great music & the pop up themes are fun!
Very fun atmosphere and very friendly staff.
A little snug. Definitely for the younger (20s) crowd.
Waaay too crowded! Hot!!!! No AC. ... It was awful- not returning.
They really need to something about the bathroom situation. Im just going to say that
Fun place to hangout. It get busy late.
Solid Dive bar, Great on Wednesday nights
Cockroaches in BOTH restrooms were enough to get us to leave
The Saturday night DJ could be better.
Went to The Simpsons pop up was amazing
Small cozy bar with good drinks.
Fun bar with eclectic drinks!
No last call and rude bouncers
Love this place. Tip your bartender
So disappointed. They did the minimum on decor.
This place is trash!!
The bartenter was soo much fun ..
Get a 40 and chill on some good tunes!
I had a fantastic time
5 star establishment
Pales in comparison to other bars in the area.
Great time. Good vibes.
Place is ALWAYS fun!
Definitely a place to be and check out
Fun spot
So is this really going to be the drunken clam?
Fun place
Kicked us out for no reason
HORRIBLE RUDE STAFF AND SECURITY.
You just have to experience it.
Loved it!
I love everything about it!
Gets lit at night
Cool little bar
Nice corner bar
Great music
Nothing special.
I rather not even comment
Great experience
Its a bar....
Love this place
The Whip is back!
Great service
